2023.06.07 14:45 xMordred Regional Pricing

Recently been seeing streamers playing Diablo4 and wanted to get into, never really played the older diablo game but thought i would try it out. Found out it was 70USD ~ roughly 320 RM in my country and i was kinda surprised theres no regional pricing?
Like for westerners, life is good and games are super cheap compared to most of the world, just wondering if there would be any updates about the price. As its legit super steep for I assume a majority of the non western countries?

Three companies agree to pay more than $1 billion to settle ‘forever chemical’ claims, was the claim, apropros of which..

u/AdClemson said 1 day ago,
This essentially means the Government has fined these companies $1 Billion and has also fined the victims (general public) additional $4 Billions to pay for the damages that was incurred on them by those companies.
...and then u/aitorbk had replied, 1 day ago, quite wisely,
To solve only partly the issue.
As the name implies, it is a forever problem.

I then replied, just now, and,in agreement, Succinctly,

...and it's an everywhere problem, which, I dunno, sure makes even the notion of remunerative damages sound a little cheap, not to mention that it's,

2023.06.07 14:01 EdMarCarSe "Great Anti-Imperialist Revolutionary Cause of Asian, African and Latin American Peoples Is Invincible", The Treatise published on the cccasion of the first anniversary of the death of Che Guevara in battle in the Eighth Issue of Tricontinental - by Kim Il Sung, October 8 of 1968.

https://www.marxists.org/archive/kim-il-sung/1968/10/08.htm
https://aklatangbayan.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/great-anti-imperialist-revolutionary-cause-of-asian-african-and-latin-america-peoples-is-invincible.pdf [PDF]
It is nearly a year now since Comrade Ernesto Che Guevara, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and a true internationalist champion bom of the Latin American people, died a heroic death on the battlefield of Bolivia. The Korean people, together with the revolutionary peoples throughout the world, are commemorating the first anniversary of the passing away of Comrade Che Guevara, with a burning hatred for the enemy and in deep grief.
Che Guevara took the path of the sacred struggle to bring freedom and liberation to the peoples, holding aloft the banner of anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle early in his youthhood, and devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the oppressed peoples.
Over a long period up to now since the curtain rose upon the prelude to the bloodstained history of modern bourgeoisie, in which the exploitation camouflaged by medieval religious and political illusions was replaced by a naked, shameless, direct and cruel one and man's dignity turned into an exchange value, numerous Communists and revolutionary fighters on the globe have shed their blood and laid down their lives in the midst of the revolutionary tempest to sweep away all that is obsolete and corrupt and reorganize the whole structure of society in a revolutionary way, to overthrow the upper strata of that cursed old society and prepare the cradle of free and happy, new society. Che Guevara dedicated his precious life to this sacred struggle and thus became an honourable member of the ranks of world revolutionary martyrs.
Che Guevara was an indefatigable revolutionary who was tireless in struggle and a true internationalist champion who was completely free from narrow nationalist sentiments. Throughout his life he showed a fine example of a steadfast revolutionary fighter and real internationalist.
Along with the Cuban revolutionaries led by Comrade Fidel Castro, Che Guevara unfolded a heroic armed struggle, thereby contributing greatly to crushing U.S. imperialism and the dictatorial regime of Batista, its lackey, and attaining the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. In 1965 Che Guevara, burning with revolutionary zeal, left the triumphant land of Cuba to move the arena of his struggle to a new outpost where manifold difficulties and stern trials awaited him. Everywhere he went in Latin America, he organized and mobilized the masses of the people to armed struggles against U.S. imperialism and its minions and fought bravely to the last moment of his life in the forefront.
The revolutionary activities of Che Guevara made a tremendous contribution to further consolidating the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and stepping up the advancement of the Latin American revolution as a whole.
The triumph of the Cuban Revolution is the first victory of the socialist revolution in Latin America and a continuation of the Great October Revolution in Latin America. With the Cuban Revolution emerging victorious, the Red banner of socialism now flies high over Latin America which was regarded as a hereditary estate of U.S. imperialism only until recently, and the socialist camp has extended to the Western Hemisphere and grown in strength a great deal. Today the Republic of Cuba which marches on firmly in the forefront of the Latin American revolution is the lighthouse of hope for the fighting Latin American peoples and throws the rays of victory on the road of their struggle. The triumph of the Cuban Revolution shook the colonial system of the U.S. imperialists to its very foundation in the Western Hemisphere and has thrown the whole Latin America into a revolutionary tempest, forcefully arousing the peoples in this area to the sacred struggle for independence and freedom. The triumph of the Cuban Revolution signified, indeed, the beginning of the disintegration of the U.S. imperialist system of colonial rule in Latin America, the stern judgment on U.S. imperialism which had exploited and oppressed the peoples in this area for a long period and its condemnation to ruin.
Consolidation of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution is not only an important problem which decides the life and death, the rise and fall of the Cuban people but also a key problem which sways the destinies of the general development of the Latin American revolution.
Revolution begins with brilliant successes in one country but undergoes a considerable period of painful throes. The countries whose proletariat has grasped power in the encirclement of international capitalism are not free from the danger of imperialist aggression and restoration of capitalism during the entire historical period of revolutionary transition from capitalism to socialism. The overthrown exploiting classes always attempt to recover their lost positions and foreign imperialists incessantly engage in armed invasion and intrigues and manoeuvres for political and ideological subversion.
The U.S. imperialists and the reactionaries of Latin America deeply hate and fear the very existence of the Republic of Cuba and are manoeuvring stubbornly and maliciously to stifle it. They are working hard to get rid of the Cuban Revolution so as to drive out the "spectre" of Communism haunting the Western Hemisphere and check the liberation struggle of the peoples which envelops Latin America like a prairie fire. While scheming to strangle Cuba by directly mobilizing then- armed forces, the U.S. imperialists are instigating the reactionary Latin American regimes of dictatorship under their domination and subjugation to bring political and economic pressure to bear upon Cuba in order to suffocate her with the policy of blockade.
For the attainment of the ultimate victory of the revolution, the peoples who have gained power in the encirclement of international capital, while reinforcing their own internal forces in every way, should receive solid support from other detachments of the world socialist revolution and should receive broad international assistance from the working classes of all lands and the oppressed peoples of the whole world. In other words, revolutions should take place consecutively in the majority of countries of the world, in several adjacent countries at the least, to replace imperialist encirclement with socialist encirclement, the barriers of imperialism that surround a socialist country should be torn down to open the path of turning the dictatorship of the proletariat into a world-wide system and an end should be put to the isolation of the socialist fortress of one country in the encirclement to form the strong ties of militant solidarity of the international working classes and the oppressed peoples of the world. Only then will it be possible to prevent completely armed intervention by the imperialists and their attempt to restore capitalism, and say that the ultimate victory of socialism has been secured.
As the forces of capital are international, so the liberation struggle of the peoples is an international movement. The revolutionary movements in individual countries are national movements, and constitute part of the world revolution at the same time. The revolutionary struggles of the peoples in all countries have the relationship of supporting and complementing each other and join together in one stream of world revolution. The revolution which has emerged victorious should assist the revolutions of those countries which are not yet triumphant with its experiences and examples and render active support to the liberation struggle of the world's peoples with its political, economic and military power, while the peoples in the countries which have not yet won the revolutions should struggle more actively to defend the victorious revolutions of other countries against the imperialist policy of strangulation and hasten victory for their own revolutions. This is the law of the development of the world revolutionary movement and the excellent tradition already formed in the course of the people's liberation struggle.
The Cuban Revolution is an organic part of the world revolution and, particularly, constitutes the decisive link in the chain of the revolution in Latin America. To defend the Cuban Revolution and to consolidate and follow up its victories is not only the duty of the Cuban people but also the internationalist obligation of the oppressed peoples of Latin America and all the revolutionary peoples of the world. Just as the defence of the gains of the October Revolution in Russia which made the first breach in the world capitalist system was an important question decisive of the fate of the development of the world revolution, so the defence of the gains of the Cuban Revolution which made the first breach in the colonial system of U.S. imperialism in Latin America is an important question decisive of the fate of the Latin American revolution.
It is of great importance for the defence of the Cuban Revolution to advance the revolutionary movement in those Latin American countries neighbouring on Cuba. If the fierce flames of revolution flare up in many countries of Latin America where U.S. imperialism sets foot, the force of U.S. imperialism will be dispersed and sapped as much and the attempts of the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys to strangle Cuba by concentrated force will inevitably fall through. Further, if the revolution emerges victorious in some other Latin American countries, Cuba will get out of the encircling ring of imperialism with which she is confronted on all sides, there will be opened up a favourable phase in the revolutions of Cuba and Latin America, and the world revolution will be stepped up still more.
For a revolution to take place, the subjective and objective situation should be created for it. The revolution in each country should be carried out to suit the specific realities, in which the objective revolutionary situation is created. This, however, by no means signifies that the revolution can develop or ripen of itself. The revolution can always be advanced and brought to maturity only through an active and hard struggle of the revolutionaries. If an active struggle is neglected, only waiting for a favourable situation to arise by reason of the arduousness of the revolution, revolutionary forces cannot be fostered. Revolutionary forces cannot be prepared spontaneously without any struggle, they can be fostered and strengthened only through a hard struggle. If preparations are not made to meet the decisive hour of the revolution by preserving the revolutionary forces against the enemy's suppression and, at the same time, constantly accumulating and building them up through a positive struggle, it will be impossible to win victory in the revolution even when the objective situation has been created. To turn away from the revolution on the pretext of avoiding sacrifices is in fact tantamount to forcing the people to remain in lifelong slavery to capital, forcing them to tolerate for ever the cruel exploitation and oppression, unbearable maltreatment and humiliation, enormous sufferings and sacrifices. In general the acute pain experienced at a revolutionary turning-point is always much easier to endure than the chronic pain caused by the ulcers of old society. The social revolution cannot be achieved as easily as proceeding along a royal road in full daylight, nor can it progress as smoothly as a boat sailing before the wind. On the path of revolution, there may be rough thorny bushes and turns and twists, and there may be temporary setbacks and partial sacrifices. To flinch before difficulties and to hesitate in the revolution for fear of sacrifices is not the attitude befitting a revolutionary.
It is the task for the revolutionaries of each country to lay down a scientifically-motivated, careful way of struggle on the basis of a correct assessment of the internal and external situation and a proper calculation of the balance of forces between friend and foe, accumulate and build up the revolutionary forces by rearing the nuclear elements and awakening the masses of the people in the trying crucible of the revolution, unfolding an active struggle and yet going around the snags and avoiding unnecessary sacrifices at ordinary times, and make full preparations to meet the great revolutionary event. And once the revolutionary situation is created, they should not miss the opportunity to rise without delay in a showdown to shatter the reactionary regime.
The forms and methods of revolutionary struggle, too, are determined not by the wishes of individuals, but on all accounts by the subjective and objective situation created and the resistance of the reactionary ruling classes. The revolutionaries should stand prepared for all forms of struggle, and should effectively advance the revolutionary movement by properly combining various forms and methods of struggle such as political and economic struggles, violent and nonviolent struggles, legal and illegal struggles.
Counter-revolutionary violence is an indispensable means of rule for all exploiting classes. Human history not yet knows an instance of any ruling class submissively turning over its supremacy, or an instance of any reactionary class meekly waiving its power without resorting to counter-revolutionary violence. In particular, the imperialists cling ever more desperately to violent means to maintain their rule as they approach nearer to their doom. The imperialists, while suppressing the peoples of their own countries, check all the revolutionary advance of the oppressed nations in a sanguinary way with their military forces for aggression and plunder against other countries.
In these conditions, the liberation struggle of the oppressed peoples cannot emerge victorious without using revolutionary violence to crush foreign imperialists and overthrow the reactionary dictatorial machinery of the exploiting classes at home that work hand in glove with them. It is imperative to meet violence with violence and crush counter-revolutionary armed forces with revolutionary armed forces. The revolutionary flames now raging furiously in Latin America are the natural outcome of the revolutionary situation created in this area.
The absolute majority of the Latin American countries have been placed under the complete domination and bondage of U.S. imperialism. Pro-U.S. dictatorships have been established in many Latin American countries and the economy of these countries has been turned completely into an appendage to the U.S. monopolies. The U.S. imperialists' policy of aggression and plunder towards Latin America constitutes the major fetters impeding social progress in this area, and has plunged its peoples in unbearable mishaps and distress. The U.S. imperialists and the pro-U.S. dictatorships in Latin America extensively set up various repressive apparatuses including the army and police and suppress all forms of revolutionary advance of the people in a most brutal way.
It is obvious that unless the ill-clad and hungry, oppressed and humiliated people in Latin America bravely rise in arms in the struggle against the oppressors, they cannot attain freedom and liberation.
It is quite justifiable and admirable that under the banner of proletarian internationalism, under the banner of anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle, Che Guevara, together with Latin American revolutionaries, unfolded an active, heroic revolutionary struggle in various Latin American countries with arms in his hands in defiance of sacrifice in order to defend the Cuban Revolution and hasten the day of liberation for the oppressed peoples in this area. The revolutionary peoples of the whole world express deep sympathy with the brave act of Che Guevara who waged a heroic armed struggle together with Latin American revolutionaries. The brilliant example of Che Guevara is a paragon not only for the Latin American peoples in their revolutionary struggle but for the Asian and African peoples in their liberation struggle, and inspires them to heroic exploits.
Che .Guevara is not with us now. But the blood he shed will never be wasted. His name and the everlasting revolutionary exploits he performed will go down for ever in the history of liberation of mankind and his lofty revolutionary spirit will be immortal. There will appear thousands of, tens of thousands of Che Guevaras on the scene of decisive battle in the revolutionary struggle in Asia, Africa and Latin America, and the revolutionary cause which he left unaccomplished will surely be achieved by the struggle of the Latin American revolutionaries and the revolutionary peoples the world over.
Today Asia, Africa and Latin America have become the most fierce anti-imperialist front. Imperialism has met with the strong resistance of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples and suffered the heaviest blows from them. Nevertheless, imperialism is desperately trying to maintain its old footing and regain its lost positions in those areas.
The cause of liberation of the peoples in Asia, Africa and Latin America has not been completed. So long as imperialism exists on the globe and oppresses and plunders the people, the people cannot leave off the anti-imperialist struggle even a moment. The struggle must continue till all shades of colonialism are wiped off the face of the earth once and for all, till all the oppressed and humiliated nations build their independent states and achieve social progress and national- prosperity.
Imperialism will never give up its rule over colonial and dependent countries before it is kicked out. It is in the nature of imperialism to perpetrate aggression and plunder. If there ever is imperialism which is not aggressive, it is no longer imperialism. Imperialism will not change its aggressive nature before it dies. That is why one should dispel all illusions about imperialism and fight it out. Only when a. principled stand is maintained against imperialism and a staunch anti-imperialist struggle intensified, can the oppressed nations win freedom and independence and the liberated peoples check imperialist aggression, consolidate national independence and achieve prosperity for their countries and nations.
U.S. imperialism is the most barbarous and most heinous imperialism of modern times, and it is the chieftain of world imperialism. It is not the Asian and Latin American countries or the African countries alone that have their sovereignty and territories infringed upon by U.S. imperialism or are under the menace of U.S. imperialist aggression. There is no place on the earth to which U.S. imperialism has not stretched out its tentacles of aggression, and where U.S. imperialism sets foot the people always shed blood. The U.S. imperialists pursue the invariable aim to put the whole world under their control. It is to realize this aim that the U.S. imperialists incessantly perpetrate armed invasion and subversive activities against the socialist and newly-independent countries, and brutally suppress the liberation struggle of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America. This wild aggressive design of U.S. imperialism must be frustrated decisively. It is clear that world peace cannot be safeguarded, nor can national liberation and independence or the victory of democracy and socialism be achieved, apart from the struggle against U.S. imperialism. To fight U.S. imperialism is the inescapable common duty and the first and foremost revolutionary task for all the peoples of the world.
For the successful defeat of U.S. imperialism, it is necessary to penetrate into its world strategy thoroughly.
The basic strategy of U.S. imperialism for world aggression at the present stage is to destroy by force of arms the small and divided revolutionary socialist countries and newly- independent countries one by one, while refraining from worsening its relations with big powers and shunning confrontation with them as far as possible and to intensify ideological and political offensive against, and subvert from within, those countries which are weak ideologically and not willing to make revolution but spread illusion about imperialism among the people clamouring only for unprincipled coexistence with imperialism, and desire to live on good terms with imperialism.
On the basis of this world strategy, the U.S. imperialists are increasing their armaments extensively and further reinforcing their military bases and aggressive military alliances to attack the socialist and the progressive countries. The U.S. imperialists have openly embarked on "local war" and "special war" in Viet Nam and some other places, while preparing total war and nuclear war on a large scale.
Simultaneously with this, the U.S. imperialists resort to a new form of cold war to encourage "liberalization" and "democratic development" in certain countries, while running wild to bribe and make a cat's-paw of the cowards within the ranks of the working-class movement who are afraid of revolution. They clamour for the "most favoured nation" treatment and the expansion of the "East-West contact and interchange" and, with this as a means, seek to infiltrate their reactionary ideology and culture to degrade the peoples ideologically, hamper economic development and thus undermine those countries from within. The imperialists are carrying out sabotage and subversive intrigues to tear the newly- independent states away from the anti-imperialist front one by one. While resorting to force overtly, they penetrate into the newly-independent countries with "aid" as a bait and meddle in their internal affairs. The U.S. imperialists whip together the right-wing reactionaries and pit them against the progressive forces, and seek to sway certain newly-independent countries to the road of counter-revolution.
Namely, wielding an olive branch in one hand and arrows in the other, the U.S. imperialists manoeuvre to swallow up the revolutionary countries one by one through armed aggression and subvert the ideologically weak countries through ideological and cultural aggression, combining nuclear blackmail with "peaceful penetration" and repression with appeasement and deception.
The peoples of the whole world should maintain sharpest vigilance against such intrigues and manoeuvres by U.S. imperialism and should be fully prepared to counter enemy's possible aggression of all forms.
In order to develop the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle vigorously, it is important to cement to the maximum the militant unity of all areas, all countries, all parties, all people and all forces opposing imperialism.
The revolutionary struggles of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples go on closely linked with each other for the community of their desires and aspirations. When Latin America groans under imperialist yoke, the Asian and African peoples cannot live in peace and when U.S. imperialism collapses in the Asian and African areas, a favourable phase will be created for the national-liberation movement of the Latin American peoples, too. The militant unity and close ties of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples will multiply the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. revolutionary forces several times, scores of times and will become an invincible force which can frustrate successfully the aggression of the imperialists and the united front of international reaction. Therefore, the peoples in all regions where U.S. imperialism is entrenched should pool their strength and strike it hard.
In Asia, Africa and Latin America there are socialist and neutral countries, and big and small countries. All these countries except the puppet regimes of the imperialists and their satellite states constitute anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. forces. Despite the differences of state socio-political systems, political views and religious beliefs, the peoples of the countries in these areas, as the oppressed nations who were suppressed and exploited by the imperialists and colonialists, have the common goal and aspiration to achieve national independence and national prosperity against imperialism and old and new colonialism. The differences of state socio-political systems, political views or religious beliefs can by no means be an obstacle in the way of joint struggle against U.S. imperialism. All countries should form an anti-imperialist united front and take anti-U.S. joint action to crush the common enemy and attain the common goal.
True, there may be various categories of people among those who oppose imperialism. Some may be active against imperialism, others may vacillate in the anti-imperialist struggle, and still others may join in the anti-imperialist struggle reluctantly under the pressure from their own people and the peoples of the world. But, whatever their motives, it is necessary to enlist all these forces except the henchmen of imperialism in the anti-U.S. joint struggle. If more forces, though inconsistent and unsteady, are drawn into the anti-U.S. joint struggle to isolate U.S. imperialism to the largest possible extent and deal blows to it by joint action, that will be a good thing and by no means a bad thing. Those who avoid the anti-imperialist struggle should be induced to turn out in the struggle against imperialism and those who are passive encouraged to be positive in the anti-imperialist struggle. To split the anti-U.S. united front or reject the anti-U.S. joint action will only bring a serious consequence of weakening the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle.
To fight down U.S. imperialism, all countries, big and small, should strike blows at U.S. imperialism. Particularly important here is that small countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America should give up flunkeyism tended to rely on big powers and take an active part in the anti-U.S. struggle. It is wrong to think that U.S. imperialism cannot be beaten down unless big countries fight it. It would be better certainly if big countries join small countries in fighting against U.S. imperialism. That is why small countries should endeavour to unite with big countries. But, this is by no means to say that no country, unless it is big, can fight and defeat U.S. imperialism. It is too obvious that one cannot make revolution if he depends on big countries and sits idle and that others cannot make revolution for him. Even small countries can defeat big enemy, once they establish Juche, unite the masses of the people and valiantly rise in battle despite sacrifice. This is a very plain truth of our times which has been borne out by actual life.
The experience of the Korean war proved this truth, and the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the heroic war of resistance of the Vietnamese people against U.S. imperialism and for national salvation have proved this truth.
Moreover, when many countries, though small, pool their strength to fight imperialism, the peoples will be able to beat the enemy however strong he may be, with a decisively overwhelming force. The peoples of the countries making revolution should join efforts to tear left and right arms from U.S, imperialism, tear off its left and right legs and behead it eventually everywhere it stretches out its crooked hands of aggression. The U.S. imperialists are bluffing now, but when the revolutionary peoples of the world join in mutilating them, the U.S. imperialists will become impotent and bite the dust in the end. We small nations should unite and counter the strategy of U.S. imperialism to swallow us up one by one, each chopping off its head and limbs. Such, it can be said, is the strategy of struggle for small countries to defeat U.S. imperialism.
The Korean people have fought against the occupation of South Korea by the U.S. imperialists and for the unification of the country for more than 20 years. The Korean Revolution is part of the international revolutionary movement, and the revolutionary/struggle of the Korean people is developing amid the joint struggle of the peoples of the whole world for peace and democracy, for national independence and socialism. The Korean people are fighting to accomplish their cause of national liberation and, at the same time, are doing everything in their power to accelerate the advancement of the international revolutionary movement as a whole. Our people unite with all forces opposing U.S. imperialism and consistently support the peoples of all the countries in their struggle against U.S. imperialism. We regard it as an important factor in bringing victory to the Korean Revolution.
Imperialism is a moribund force whose days are numbered, whereas the liberation struggle of the peoples is a new force which aspires for the progress of mankind. There may be uncountable difficulties and obstacles and various turns and twists on the way of the liberation struggle of the peoples, but it is the inevitable law of the development of history that imperialism is doomed to ruin and the liberation struggle of the peoples is sure to be crowned with victory. Though the imperialists headed by U.S. imperialism are running amuck in an attempt to check the surging liberation struggle of the peoples, it is nothing but the death-bed tremor of those who are condemned to destruction. The more frenziedly the U.S. imperialists act, the more difficult their position becomes. U.S. imperialism is going downhill and confronted with the fate of a setting sun. The U.S. imperialists will definitely be forced out of Asia, Africa and Latin America by the liberation struggle of the peoples. The great anti-imperialist revolutionary cause of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples is invincible.

2023.06.07 13:50 CanidPsychopomp The Sopranos and my fucking life story

So anyway if you don't wanna listen, fuck you. I gotta coupla tree tings to say.
First of all I wanna make clear to alla youse that I bin in this thing FROM THE BEGINNING. First fucking episode, first fucking day alright? I recognised the potential from the start. So don't be giving me no attitude.
What it is, is that this fucking show, this fuck tv progrum has reflected and predicted some bits of my life, and maybe not just by chance but because of a couple dumb choices I made. Or maybe I'm the one who needs to get my head examined, I don't know. Paging Dr Melfi! Fuck that, I couldn't afford her pass me another Zoloft wouldya?
So anyway back where I'm from I got involved in a coupla things, nothing heavy, took a few risks. Never faced no consequences. Then I met this girl. Madone! From the first I was smitten. Thick curly black hair, dark eyes and an ass to die for. My thing was kinda windin down and I was ready for pastures new so we upped and moved back where she's from. Now this is Spain. These muthafuckas don't got things organised the way they do in Italy, but believe you me behind the scenes there's a lot going on. None of that interested me however, I was going straight and that was that. For the most part.
But the fucking family. Now my own family are a shitshow in their own right, but I walked right into a whole thing here.
Let me start with my jagoff brother-in-law. This stoogatz was a lazy fucking chifosa gavone, and a complete bullshit artist to boot. When I met him he seemed to make a living by doing some shit in nightclubs, who knows. He was always with the stories, how he was with a crew of mulignans in London, how he was tight with the Bulgarians that ran all the doors in the city, how he'd been a bodyguard when he was in the army. I didn't give a fuck. All bullshit as far as anyone could tell. So anyway, this is maybe 2002, 2002 and I start buying up the DVD boxsets when they come out. You remember them? You kids these days got know idea how it was back then. I was sick of listening to this motherfucker so I lend the cunt the season 1 box set. Mistake.
Thing is the stoonad really, and I mean really started to identify with it. First of all it was Livia. I mean the asshole was not wrong- his own mother, my mother-in-law, yeah, she was a Livia. God rest her soul she's gone now and there isn't a day I'm not thankful.
Then he watched the episode where Chris and Brendan jack the truck, and fuck me if he doesn't start telling me the very next week how him and his crew jacked a truckload of watches or some shit over the weekend. I just looked at him straight-faced while he tells me THE FUCKING EPISODE but with him as main character. He doesn't bat a fucking eylid, I think, this cunt is deranged, he's fucking loonytunes. I get the impression that while he's telling it, he's really believing it.
Anyway he goes from bad to worse but I'll get onto that.
But now my fucking fawtha-in-law. I mean this guy is a piece of work too. At times he's not around much in those days, as he can't spend all that much time around Livia before he fucks off to Florida, I mean Malaga, or the islands where he's got like two whole other families. This guy made a fuckton of money in the 80s and 90s somehow- I mean, he had legitimate businesses but there was some connected stuff going on too. They ran clubs and parties, and had close friends who did too, and there was even a couple of things about helping out some pretty high up people with looking after associates and stuff at critical moments. Colombians and Gallicians (they are up on the far north west coast and in those days they were bringing it all in that way). But by this time 2000 and whatever, he's past that for the most part, though he still was doing a bit of beach lookout stuff down south and hanging out with some questionable characters for a while. He's the type you know, he can be funny and charming and entertaining, but by and large he's just a fucking toxic narcissist. Used to be a tough guy, but to be honest in Spain they are more about talking about violence than actually doing it. Anyway, muthafucka pointed a gun at me twice, threatened to kill me one time. By this time my wife and I had built a house on the family compound, so after that he had to go away as far as I was concerned. Where I come from you make a threat you gotta be prepared to go through with or face the consequences as if you were gonna. Spanish people talk to much but I'm form where I'm from. So he was gone again, for a few years, till his goomars or whatever the fuck you wanna call them got sick of him and he put the feelers out to be able to come back. I gotta say, the family worked on me and I gave him a pass. We got drunk and high together a coupla tree times and worked it out, for a few years anyways.
So to the fucking brother-in-law. He gives me a ride one time in this car. Cracks open a hiddenc compartment he's got under the glove box, pulls out a pistol. Now this isn't the USA, where that shit is normal. Who knows, maybe it was fake. He's still living in some shithole apartment and from what I can tell conning women into paying for his lifestyle. Who the fuck knows it's all bullshit anyway, but things are obviously moving along for him. One time some friends visit for the weekend and he's around. They need to go to the airport in the morning and he says he going that way and can take them. I warn them they'll be better off taking the train but they go with him anyway. He shows up in full military uniform. Now this asshole did legitmiamtely spend a coulple of years in the military, but he shows up dressed as a major or a general or some shit. In the car on the way my friends are terrified as he drives at about 120mph all the way, weaving in and out of traffic, and all the time he never shuts up. Guy speaks ok English. He tells them how he's in the special forces, and he's getting a helicopter to Afghanistan to do some top secret shit, then coming back the same day. Some fucking helicopter. Turns out he's actually running some con on some poor woman in airport security. Another my brother comes over, he's only like 18 or something. Felipe (my b-i-l) invites him out clubbing. He's clearly at least a little connected as they waltz into every club straight past the line and sit in the VIP area drinking rum and cokes and doing lines. Another time another brother of mine is over (there's a few of us, my dad was Irish and he put it about). Felipe shows up ready for a night out, dressed in black suit, black shirt and some fucking blood red shiny tie, shiny shoes and all. Now me and my brother have had a drink or two, smoked a couple joints already (we went out a nearly got in a fight with some lesbians later that night) and anyway he's a bit of a roughneck fucker. Spent a couple years in the can too, later on. My brother-in-law is trying to be funny, I'm ignoring him, he makes some racist joke which my brother isn't into so he looks him in the eye and asks 'why the fuck you dressed like an extra from a gangster movie?' Fucking stoonad soon leaves. Another time he's like come up to my apartment, and he pulls out a big bag of coke and offers it to me. We do a couple lines, it's junk, no good shit like it always is here and I'm about over that stuff by now anyway, but I spent a while in Colombia and I can hold my own. He tells me he has it because someone owed him money and they gave him it in lieu after having to threaten the guy, so I think huh ok you talk a good game motherfucker let's see what you do. I think my wife is away with the baby at her sister's at this point maybe, at least that's how I wanna remember it. Anyway this shit is cut to fuck and not that strong so I think I'm gonna make the biggest fucking lines and see if we can do all of it and see if he makes a fuss. He makes a noise a couple times but doesn't try and stop me.
At this point I pretty much think it's all just basically cosplay. But then shit gets real. We get a call that he's arrested, locked up. And it's not just some bullshit either. The guy played the lead role in a stick up, dressed as police. The story goes the person they were sticking up was also connected, but I don't know. Anyway he gets caught and the rest of the crew don't, and he spends like three years in jail. His girlfriend comes over night of, telling me all kinds of tall tales, asking me to go with her to his apartment to pick up some shit the next day cos she's afraid to go on her own. My wife's away at this point down at the house by the shore with the kids, and I think about trying something but think nah fuck it, it'll be more hassle than it's worth.
When he comes out, I think he knows he aint got the stones for the carcelary experience really. The one time I go visit him he's got a black eye. Slipped in the shower, he says. I give him Goodfellas, Scarface and The French Connection to watch in there. When he comes out he sets up in the building trade, which is a pretty good way to rip people off if you know how. This goes on for years, he even manages to rip me off at one point but I stiff him on some of what he wants from me so I guess it works out even.
So it's years later. I'm just a working joe basically. We are still on the family compound. The father-in-law is there too, but in another building a little ways away, and my sister in law is also there. We've built a granny flat for Livia, but she doesn't get much time to enjoy it. We're away at the beach and we get the call that my other brother in law has found her floating in the pool. A stroke. Unsurprising really with the way she enjoyed a daily mix of uppers and downers.
Motherfucking Felipe tries to shake us down straightaway. The property was in Livia's sole name, for various legal reasons and her dying really made the shit hit the fan. We tell him fuck you. This is like 4 years ago now, maybe 5.
Since then motherfucker has snitched on the property for whatever the fuck- nothing here was ever exactly legit and up to code, but there's usually ways around stuff unless some motherfucker meddles. Has tried to, pretended to be going to run us down with his car. Has made sundry threats and calumnies to anyone willing to listen. So one night he shows up when we are celebrating something or other round a fire out by the woods. He gets into an argument with my wife and says some things he shouldn't, so I get up in his face and tell him to watch his mouth. He pushes me, like a fucking playground fight, and bad luck I fall back over the picnic table we got set up there. I get up an my wife and fucking daughter, who's like 18 by now are up in his face and he starts pushing them so I punch him in the face. Not a good shot, I'd been drinking 18 year old scotch all night. Mayhem, other guys there separate all of us but he keeps on screaming and raging. One point I pick up an empty vodka bottle but I don't do nothing with it. People manage to push him away, get him to his car but he keep screaming how he's gonna kill me, one time he'll find me on my own down the track (we've got more than a mile of rough country road to get to the compound). The highlight is I'm gonna get put in the trunk, he's had people in the trunk of his car for less. Oh and various slurs, anti-Northern European discrimination I call it.
This is all a couple years ago. Like I said I've got a few brothers. A couple of them we've always said anything heavy needs doing we'll be there for one another. Like I said, one of them did a couple years in the can, another was in the forces for a while, been under fire, shot a couple or tree bad guys in his time.
But I aint done shit, and he aint done shit neither. I sometimes think if I'd a realised the true point of the show that I'd'a run a mile way back when. Or if at least I hadn't lent the motherfucker my box set, things might coulda gone another way.
Fuck it, it's all a big nothing anyways.

2023.06.07 12:33 meem09 Race(s) to Paris #5 Final Foil Findings

With the women's foils having a final World Cup and having skipped the foils two weeks ago, I'll do a last update of both the women's and men's foil standings.
I was finally made aware of the FIE's dedicated website for qualification: paris.fie.org. It's not perfect, but it's the best raw data source, so I'll link that. I would continue to also post Piste to Podium, because it is just visually much easier to follow, but they haven't updated the foils, so it's missing here.
Women's Foil
State of the Race done: 1 Grand Prix, 2 World Cups still to go: World Championships, Zonal Championships, 2 Grands Prix, 3 World Cups
The teams saw a kind of return to the norm with the USA, Italy, France and Japan making it to the semi-finals and now occupying the coveted Top-4 spots in the adjusted rankings. That currently leaves Canada in the 5-spot and the American zonal place for teams, as we expected. Argentina are currently hanging on in 16th, so there's a tiny chance for them, if Canada were to jump into the direct spots, but it's very, very unlikely they pull that off. The individual spot is currently held by Brazilian Mariana Pistoia on 2 points, but Proestakis and Rebolledo are right there on 1.75. Zonal Championships are going to be hugely important for that race.
The African Zone is a mystery to me, as it seems like no African teams have participated in the first two World Cups and I don't see any Egyptians and Moroccans on the individual adjusted rankings either. Accordingly, the team spot remains open for other nations (more on that later) and the individual spot is currently held by Maxine Isabel Esteban from Côte D'Ivoire. Again, Zonal Championships could be the decider here.
That brings us to Europe, which currently has four countries on quali spots, due to either Germany or Spain picking up the vacant African place. German and Spain are tied, as they both have one 8th place and one 10th place. Hungary has the same amount of points as those two, but currently is behind in a tiebreaker. As this tie will resolve itself, I won't go into it more than to say, it's a really, really close race for this 8th place. Poland is out front a bit and seems to be the most stable European team behind France and Italy at the moment. As so often in the European races, we have to wait a bit longer for the team picture to be clearer to better understand the individual picture. However, with a GP win and WC silver, Anne Sauer has already won a big chunk of the points you need to guarantee yourself a spot at the Olympics. If said in a comment before that 100 points is roughly the minimum you need and she's already on 78 with seven tournaments to go. If Germany take a team spot, Flora Pasztor from Hungary and Alina Poloziuk from Ukraine are next in line. If the Ukrainians have to withdraw, Great Britain's Carolina Stutchbury has a chance.
Finally, with Japan in the Top-4, China takes up the Asian Zonal spot. Given that they will most likely score more points at the Asian Championships than Hungary, Span and Germany will at the European Championships, Korea is also very much in that previously described battle for the 8th team spot. And if they finish ahead of China - or even win the whole thing - in Wuxi, they are also squarely back in the fight for the Asian spot. As they currently don't get a team spot, Oh takes one individual spot and the second goes to Chan from Hong Kong.
Men's Foil
State of the Race done: 1 Grand Prix, 1 World Cup still to go: World Championships, Zonal Championships, 2 Grands Prix, 4 World Cups
It's just one tournament, but the Top-4 look exactly the same as it does for the women with the US, Italy, France and Japan currently qualifying directly. The Egyptian men's team did take part in Acapulco and duly got an 8th place, putting them on the path towards the African team spot. Noe Robin from Senegal currently holds the individual spot, but only on 0.5 points, so again, the Zonal Championships will be very important.
As expected, it's going to be close between Korea and Hong Kong with Korea having won their bout for fifth in Acapulco and sitting 2 points ahead of HGK who are sixth but right behind a Zonal rival, which is the worst possible place to be. Obviously, nothing is yet decided there. With his team on the outside looking in Cheung Ka Long sits on one of the individual spots, with Xu of China (who also aren't out of the running as a team) taking the second. Kim is the highest ranked Korean, were the team to lose it.
As expected, Canada is en route to the American team spot. Servello is currently in the individual spot, but again on 2 points, so the PanAms and World Championships might prove decisive there.
And then in Europe, Poland held the favourite status I ascribed them with a sixth place in Acapulco, a few spots ahead of Spain, Germany and Hungary (where have I heard that before?). Llavador and Dosa are on the individual spots right now with Choupenitch and Mapstead having two pretty average tournaments so far. Dosa is the only one with a podium out of that foursome, but it's not out of the question for at least one of the other three to get multiple podiums and T-8s and catch up, plus Llavador or Dosa might get a team spot.

2023.06.07 12:03 SubtleSubversive Truman delusion + erotomania, anyone else? Help supporting bf.

Hi peeps, If anyone don't mind reading, need some help with boyfriend's delusions, I love him deeply and things are great between us, but life itself is rough. He got diagnosed 10y ago and I knew he had some paranoia-related issues when we got together 2y ago (my mental health ain't great either) although he told me the details a year later.
He says there's this girl who liked him when they were kids, but he kept pushing away as he didn't like her. In high school he saw her again and realized she's always been watching him, reading his mind, and judging him, along with a group of his closest friends, as a revenge for rejecting her.
It started suddenly, as he moved from a school to another. It was actually the first time seeing her but delusions convinced him they met before with these false memories, also felt like everyone in the new school knew and hated him already because of thoughts broadcasting. He thinks the cause was too much weed, his mum suspects sexual abuse might be involved. Likely had issues with rejection as he was a mistake child and his father always made it clear that he only cared for his 'wanted' brother, parents divorced when he was 4 and moved on the other side of the country with mum.
Anyway, he thinks she comes from a rich family who made a reality show where he's the main subject: he has to find her, but she will show herself only if he loves her and is worthy (he looks in every room multiple times a day). If he wins she's gonna stop watching him and broadcasting his life, and he's gonna get plenty of money.
He's been checking her Instagram daily for 10y, because he hates that she knows everything about him while knowing nothing about her (they were just in the same school for 2 months then he dropped out, never talked, dont even know if she knows he exists) but she recently made it private. He hears lines in tv and music that tell him to go on looking for her, voices of his old friends offending and saying he made a big mistake rejecting her, that he should've just accepted her instead so he'd have money to help his family. He talks back offending them, her, and himself.
Sometimes he can recognize what isn't real even if it feels real, and tells me I shouldn't worry or pay attention to it, as it's just the ramblings of a crazy man. At worse times he thinks his family and I are reading his mind and are also part of the show, actors paid to spend time with him because no one would be able to cope with him otherwise.
He attempted suicide multiple times but not in the last years, atm not being always sincere with psychiatrist as he's afraid of going to the psych ward again. Taking clozapine and doesn't want to change again. Can't find a job and doesn't want to apply for disability, so feeling even more like a failure atm. I talked him into being more sincere and starting psychotherapy, and hopefully that will happen after the summer.
I've rambled a lot, and even if we're anonymous and all I might delete this later as it's someone else's delusions, I just wanted to see if anyone who had similar experiences can give me some insight perhaps? (yeah I know it's an odd word to use in these cases) I want to support him the best way I can while keeping my already precarious sanity.
TL;DR. Want to support bf with 10y of schizophrenia, Truman Show-ish with possibile erotomania. Need tips, similar experiences, opinions, hope, or anything you have to navigate this and stay sane.
Thanks 🖤

2023.06.07 11:27 webuyequipment Forklift Heavy Construction Equipment - Things You Need To Know Equipment Planet Equipment

Forklift Heavy Construction Equipment - Things You Need To Know Equipment Planet Equipment
What are the things that you need to know about forklift heavy construction equipment? When you think of construction equipment, a forklift might not be the first thing that comes to mind. They are, however, powerful lifting and moving machines that may aid transfer things both inside and out, similar to a scissor lift or telehandler.

What Is a Forklift and How Does It Work?

Lift truck, jitney, forklift truck, and fork truck are all terms used to describe a forklift. A forklift is basically an industrial vehicle that lifts things with a two-pronged forked front attachment. That material is frequently shown on a wooden platform or pallet.
Products and commodities on a pallet or other platform are frequently moved with forks. A forklift has the ability to lift and lower materials. The forklift, unlike other machines that can be connected with a forked attachment – such as a telehandler – is useful for undertakings that require a lot of material movement.

What Is the Purpose of a Forklift?

There are several distinct types of forklifts, each with its unique set of features and benefits.
A forklift is used to lift, move, and carry objects in general.

What are the Functions of Forklifts in Construction?

Industrial forklifts are used to transport materials across building sites and over long distances. Bricks and wood, as well as tile and other interior construction materials, are frequently supplied on pallets on construction sites. When packaged together, they are simple to send. A forklift can help carry them to where they’re needed once they’re delivered on-site.
Because heavy-duty machinery like telehandlers and even front loaders can be equipped with fork attachments, genuine forklifts are rarely seen on construction sites. The telehandler, in example, is an excellent material mover since it can lift both up and out, making it simple to carry materials to various levels of a project.

Warehouses with forklifts

When you hear the word “forklift,” one of the first pictures that may spring to mind is: Forklifts are useful in warehouses because they allow bulk products to be stored while still being packaged for shipping. As a result, the forklift has twice the importance in the construction business. They are used to transport and load items in preparation for transport to a construction site. Even though they aren’t visible on physical locations, they are nonetheless incredibly important to the industry’s efficiency and production.

The Forklift’s Evolution

The forklift, which dates from 1887, is almost as old as the Statue of Liberty. A lift truck was the name given to the initial prototype of the forklift. But it wasn’t the forklift that came first; it was the pallet.
Pallets, also known as skids, are associated with the industrialisation of the United States and were used to stack and transport commodities and resources. To keep up with the demands of the industrial period, the first forklift was invented to move these pallets. The initial lift truck could barely lift a pallet a few inches off the ground. It was a clunky precursor to today’s mighty technology.
With the passage of time, the forklift grew in popularity and power. The Pennsylvania Railroad built a platform truck to help transport luggage on and off of their trains in the first decade of the twentieth century. When the First World War broke out in 1914, the forklift’s popularity and demand skyrocketed.

https://preview.redd.it/68jjmsg7ek4b1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=8474a396616715e877b53dba0fd837c29d9a8468

During World War I, the forklift was used extensively.

With a large portion of the labor force serving in Europe during the war, interest in the forklift grew. It was a godsend to have a powerful machine that could help transport enormous amounts of material at once. Many items, including as weapons, clothing, and food, were packaged for shipment and had to be put onto trucks and trains at the time. Because the majority of the workforce was based overseas, warehouses lacked the same degree of staff. Forklifts started to appear in factories and warehouses.

The Towmotor Company and the Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company both joined the fork truck industry in the United States in 1920.

Towmotor Company is a company that specializes in towing vehicles

Lester M Sears launched Towmotor in 1919 after inventing a gas-powered tractor with forklift capability. They invented the first industrial forklift in 1933 and continued to produce various forklift models weighing 1,500 to 15,000 pounds. Caterpillar Tractor Company purchased Towmotor on November 10, 1965.

Yale & Towne Manufacturing is a company that manufactures a variety of products.

Linus Yale Jr. and Henry Towne founded Yale & Towne in Stamford, Connecticut, in the late 1800s. The company started with making locks. In 1920, this company developed its first forklift, and its name was changed to Yale and Towne Manufacturing. The forklift was a battery-powered low-lift platform truck at the time.
Soon after, the business began developing light-lift platforms. Yale & Towne was the first company to develop a tilting forklift truck. Yale Materials Handling Corporation now manufactures a wide range of electric and engine-powered material handling equipment.

Continued The Forklift’s Evolution

The advent of the hydraulic-powered lift system was a game-changer for forklifts. The machines could lift more and higher with this technical improvement. As the world got more industrialized, a standard pallet size became more widespread. The development and application of forklifts became significantly easier because to this one-size-fits-all standard.
The Second World War, like WWI, encouraged the use of forklifts and pushed for more effective material storage systems in warehouses. Some argue that the standard we presently use for storing commodities, including the usage of forklifts in practically every warehouse and storage facility throughout the world, was created during WWII.
The majority of the machine’s modifications since then have focused on improving comfort, increasing lifting capacity, and lowering emissions. Fuel cell technologies, ergonomic cab designs, and even electric power are all common features of today’s forklifts.

Forklifts come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Counterbalance forklifts, side loaders, industrial, and warehouse forklifts are among the various types of forklifts available. Cushion and pneumatic tires, as well as tough terrain forklifts, are available.
  • Models and Makes That Are Popular
  • Forklifts are available in a variety of makes and models.
  • Hyster
Hyster began as a forestry equipment manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest in 1929, during the Great Depression. A hoist was utilized on one of the company’s vehicles to assist loggers in lifting and moving equipment. They ran with the idea of only having one staff to handle a large amount of stuff.
During WWII, Hyster equipment was employed by both the American and British forces to aid move materials and goods, cementing the company’s reputation. Since then, the brand has expanded throughout the world and has become synonymous with forklifts.

Yale

Yale began as a lock company in the late 1800s, as previously stated. Their first forklift was produced in 1920, and they have been focused on this market ever since. The company presently produces a wide range of forklifts, ranging in weight from 3,500 pounds to 35,000 pounds. Their forklifts are designed for a variety of applications, including building projects, farm operations, and port and warehouse requirements.

JCB

JCB was founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford, who has been credited with inventing the telehandler since 1977. With over 2,000 dealer locations in over 150 countries, JCB is now one of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers.
The teletruk industrial forklift and the rough terrain forklift are the two primary types of forklifts that JCB concentrates on. Their teletruk is a cross between a telehandler, a skid steer, and a forklift. It mimics the cab of a skid steer or normal forklift while allowing the telehandler’s distinctive outward reach. The wheels also resemble those of a standard warehouse forklift. This inventive design exemplifies how versatile construction machines and equipment can be. JCB has even introduced a new electric teletruck variant!

The Forklift’s Multi-Functionality

While most people associate forklifts with warehouses, they actually have a lot of ties to the construction industry. The construction industry largely relies on these devices, whether it’s loading supplies to be sent to a construction site or stacking timber, bricks, or other materials. A building site would not be nearly as efficient if it could not get massive orders of materials and have everything they need to really develop projects. Whether it was because to the pallet or as a result of World War I, our industrial and commercial world would not exist today without the forklift.

2023.06.07 11:04 lechatheureux The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 2 (The Kingdoms of Jangshun and Monyul)

Check out part 1 for context
The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 1 (Overview and The Gods) : worldbuilding (reddit.com)
There are 5 connected Kingdoms that have Tonpa as their main religion these are.
Jangshun
A Place of snow-capped Mountains and green Valleys, said to be built upon the ruins of the ancient Jungar people who controlled much of the area of Jangshun and the nearby kingdoms of Monyul and Taishigang.
Very little is known about the Jungar, their ruins are scattered throughout the landscape of Jangshun, and are often characterized by simple stone structures, pottery shards, and other artifacts. Based on these remains, it is believed that the Jungar were a relatively simple society, with a lifestyle that revolved around farming, herding, and other basic activities.
Despite their lack of sophistication, the Jugar are an important part of the history and culture of the region many myths and legends have grown up around them, the people of Jangshun often see the Jungar as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the region, and take pride in the fact that they were able to survive and thrive in a harsh and unforgiving environment. In addition to their physical remains, the Jungar have left a lasting impact on the people of Jangshun in other ways. Their language, customs, and traditions are thought to have influenced the culture of the later kingdom, and many people still feel a strong connection to the Jagun and their way of life.
The Capital of Jangshun is called Druktse, founded by Dragon Priests and the legendary Namgyal dynasty the city is known for its unique architecture, with buildings made of wood and stone, intricately carved and painted with colorful designs and motifs, the streets are narrow and winding, with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze and the sound of temple bells ringing in the air.
At the center of the city is the Royal Palace of Jigme Wangchuk, a majestic building that serves as the residence of the Royal Family, the palace consists of several wings and halls, each with its own specific function. The main hall is the center of political and ceremonial activities, where the king held court and received important guests. The royal family's private quarters were located in a separate wing, with opulent living spaces and lavish decorations.
One of the most impressive features of the palace is the Eagle Tower, a tall structure that houses the elite Eagle Guards, who were responsible for the king's security the tower is covered from top to bottom with intricate carvings of the bird of prey.
The palace is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, and it is guarded by soldiers in traditional Eagle attire, the Eagle Guards of the palace of Jingme Wangchuk are an elite group of soldiers tasked with protecting the king and the royal family, known for their fearsome reputation and exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards are considered one of the most prestigious units in the Jangshun army.
The guards are named after the majestic eagles that inhabit the mountainous regions of Jangshun, and they were trained to emulate the hunting tactics of these birds of prey. They are adept at using the terrain to their advantage, and are particularly skilled at scaling steep cliffs and mountainous terrain to surprise and overwhelm their enemies. In addition to their exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards were also known for their loyalty and dedication to the royal family. They undergo rigorous training and were selected based on their physical prowess, intelligence, and character, to become an Eagle Guard, applicants must be graduates of both the School of the Father and School of the Dragon.
The Eagle Guards are outfitted in distinctive uniforms that featured a stylized eagle emblem, and they were armed with a variety of weapons, including bows, spears, and swords. They were also known to use eagle feathers and talons in their armor and equipment, as a nod to the unit's namesake.
Druktse is a hub of cultural and religious activities, with several monasteries and temples located throughout the city.
The most famous of these is the Tashicho Dzong, a stunning fortress monastery that serves as the seat of The Gyelpa (The Duke) the secondary ruler of Druktse and the center of Druk-Ta worship. The dzong is surrounded by high walls and towers, and is accessible through a grand gate that is guarded by soldiers. The interior of the dzong is a maze of courtyards, chapels, and offices, all connected by narrow passageways and staircases.
One of the most impressive features of Tashicho Dzong is its towering central fortress and monastery, which rises above the rest of the complex and can be seen from miles around. This fortress is home to the Dragon Priests and is one of the most important structures in Jangshun. The fortress monastery is also famous for its beautiful architecture and intricate artwork. The walls of the courtyards are adorned with colorful murals and paintings, while the chapels are filled with statues and other religious artifacts. Visitors to Tashicho Dzong can tour the complex and learn about Jangshun history and culture, as well as observe the daily routines of the monks who live and work there. The Monastery is open to the public during certain hours of the day, and visitors are advised to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the chapels. Even though the current royal family of Jangshun are connected to The Father, The Dragon holds a special place in Druktse.
The people of Druktse are known for their warm hospitality and their strong sense of community. They celebrate several festivals throughout the year, including the annual Tshechu festival, the 3 Gods Festival which features colorful dances and rituals performed by monks and laypeople.
To the north-east of the Kingdom lies the second biggest city in Jangshun, the city of Lhagyal, often called “The Fire-proof City”
Lhagyal is a mass of stone walls and buildings with precious little wood being used at all, the walls of the city are imposingly high and even the central palace is relatively flat and does not rise above the walls, there are 4 gates made of pure steel and those are the only entrances and exits.
Inside the city walls, the streets are narrow and winding, with tall, tightly packed buildings constructed from rough-hewn stone. The architecture is distinct, with flat roofs and ornate metal doors decorating the doorways and windows, many of the buildings are built into the city's walls, their backs resting against the ancient stones.
There is more to the city than what meets the eye. Beneath the streets lie a labyrinth of tunnels and catacombs, built for both practical and spiritual purposes. Some are used for storage or as escape routes, while others are filled with ancient artifacts and sacred relics. The catacombs are also home to a complex network of underground temples and shrines and busy streets that are home to underground residences and businesses.
Despite its rugged appearance, the city's architecture is a testament to its resilience. It has withstood numerous attempts at invasion over the centuries, including attacks by powerful enemies armed with the latest in siege weaponry. The city's fortifications are a marvel of engineering, designed to withstand even the most devastating attacks and yet, for all its defensive prowess, the city has never lost sight of its cultural heritage.
The most famous instance of this was when the neighbouring Confucian Kingdom of Jinyun attempted to invade Jangshun with its impressive military might, scores of loyal foot-soldiers hardened by decades of conflict and advanced siege technology that included weapons that used fireworks.
The city withstood months of warfare with Lhagyal earning its nickname of “The Fire-proof City” The stone structures withstood the fireworks and the hard rock of the walls withstood the Jinyun catapults, outside the city several guerilla efforts by the Eagle Guards, The Company of the Hand and The White Tigers from Monyul lending their support repelled attempted on-foot invasions by the hardened Jinyun soldiers.
In the south-west of Jangshun, near the borders of Monyul and Taishigang lies the town of Gyalpeling, a place revered by monks and pilgrims alike. Gyalpeling, meaning "Abode of the Victorious" is a small yet vibrant town located in a remote corner of the kingdom. Its strategic location, surrounded by imposing mountains and blessed with fertile lands, has made it a crucial hub for spiritual activities and monastic life. The town is centered around a grand monastery, which serves as the heart and soul of the community. The monastery, known as Samtenling Monastery, is a majestic complex of ornate buildings adorned with colorful murals, fluttering prayer flags, and the sound of chanting monks echoing through the air. It is a revered place of worship and learning, drawing scholars, practitioners, and seekers of wisdom from far and wide. The streets of Gyalpeling are lined with modest housing for monks, adorned with intricate woodcarvings and colorful paintings. The locals, known for their warm hospitality and deep reverence for Tonpa, every activity the townspeople engage in helps the monastery in some way, whether trading, farming or craftsmanship, every resident of Gyalpeling helps out the monastery in some way. The town also boasts natural hot springs, believed to have healing properties, which attract pilgrims and visitors seeking solace and rejuvenation. The pristine rivers and lakes surrounding Gyalpeling add to its enchanting beauty, serving as places for meditation, ritual ablutions, and scenic walks. Gyalpeling is not only a place of spiritual significance, but it also serves as a center of learning, with numerous scriptoria, libraries, and meditation caves where monks engage in intensive study, contemplation, and meditation, prospective monks come from all over the 5 Kingdoms to study in Gyalpeling, as monks educated within its walls are valued in any court of the Tonpa Kingdoms.
One of the most valuable cities in Jangshun isn't far from the capital, a short 1 hour horse ride east of Druktse stands the city of Jangtse, a jewel in the crown of the kingdom. Jangtse, meaning "Silver Peak" in the local tongue, owes its fame and prosperity to the rich veins of silver that run through the nearby mountains, making it a thriving center for mining and trade. At the heart of Jangtse rises a magnificent conical palace, known as Jang Potrang, or the "Silver Palace." The palace, glistening like a beacon atop the tallest hill in the city, is adorned with silver-plated roofs, walls, and pillars, reflecting the sunlight and casting a mesmerizing glow over the surrounding landscape. It serves as the royal residence, where the Count holds court and conducts affairs pertaining to the area between Jangtse and Druktse. The streets of Jangtse are lined with buildings that boast silver-plated facades, creating a surreal and shimmering sight as one walks through the city, often shining gold from reflecting the sunlight, the wealth of the city is evident in the intricate silver filigree work that adorns windows, doors, and rooftops of temples, mansions, and markets alike. The silversmiths of Jangtse are renowned for their craftsmanship, producing exquisite silverware and jewelry that are sought after by collectors and traders from distant lands. The city is a bustling center of commerce, with a vibrant market square where merchants from across the region gather to trade in silver, gemstones, textiles, and other precious goods. The sounds of bartering, laughter, and the clinking of silver coins fill the air.
The Armies of Jangshun are known for their ferocious foot-soldiers, the every-day rank and file soldiers of the Jangshun armies are regarded as the best in the region and are a feared prospect to face on any battlefield.
The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are highly disciplined and skilled in the art of warfare, and are renowned throughout the region for their courage and loyalty. They are trained in a variety of weapons and fighting styles, including archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat.
It is said that the success of the army comes from the fact that many men and women who fight in it are from mountainous regions and are conditioned from a young age to move over mountainous land with ease, their armies can easily traverse land that would be impossible for normal armies to travel over, due to the fact that the soldiers know the land.
The army of Jangshun is led by a commander-in-chief, who is appointed by the common foot-soldiers and is responsible for the overall strategy and tactics of the army. Under the commander-in-chief, there are several generals and officers who oversee different units of the army, each with their own specific roles and responsibilities. The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are equipped with a variety of weapons and armor, including shields, helmets, and chainmail. They are also skilled in the use of traditional weapons, such as the da and the gochu, which are types of swords. In addition to their skills in battle, the soldiers of the army of Jangshun are also highly respected for their loyalty and devotion to their ruler and country. They are known for their strong sense of duty and honor, and are willing to lay down their lives in defense of their homeland. The army of Jangshun is often called upon to defend the kingdom against invading forces, and has a long history of successful battles and campaigns. Their reputation for courage and skill has earned them the respect of their neighbors and allies, and they are a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Jangshun.
One of the most famous regiments from Jangshun is the “Wheel of Steel” A heavily armored longsword unit founded by Princess Jamyang Daughter of King Kunga and Sister of King Yangchen of the Yeshe Dynasty after she travelled to Europe and witnessed people fighting in full suits of armor, this was a foreign concept in the areas around her and she implemented the idea with her Father's (And later Brother's) full support they were first deployed in aid of Taishigang who were experiencing an invasion from a nearby Dharmist Kingdom. The longswords cleaved through the invading forces lack of armor and their steel plates deflected blows.
Monyul
Monyul is a land of vast open spaces and stunning natural beauty. The kingdom is home to a proud and fiercely independent people, who have built a rich culture and a strong military tradition, its plains are green and warm during the summer but snow is not uncommon in winter. Dharmaling is the capital city of Monyul and is nestled in the hills, surrounded by winding rivers and vast grasslands. It is a city steeped in tradition and culture, with a rich history that stretches back centuries.
Dharmaling was built as the northern most outpost of the Dharmist Indraprastha Empire but was conquered by Tonpa forces from a tribe that would eventually become known as the Monyul. The city is built around a central marketplace, where merchants from all over the known world come to trade their wares. The marketplace is a bustling hub of activity, filled with the sounds of bargaining and haggling, and the aromas of exotic spices and perfumes.
The Company of the Wind have their main offices in Dharmaling and use the bustling 10 storey wooden building to plan its operations throughout the known world. The streets of Dharmaling are relatively wide due to the constant horse carts that pass through them. The buildings are made of stone and wood, with intricately carved facades and ornate balconies. Many of the houses have flat roofs, which are used as outdoor living spaces during the warmer months. At the heart of the city lies the great monastery of The 3 Gods, unlike in other cities which have separate monasteries for the three Gods, this temple combines them as a display of unity between the three sects. The massive structure dominates the skyline, with its towering walls and intricate carvings. The monastery is home to a community of monks, who dedicate their lives to the study and practice of Tonpa. Surrounding the monastery are the homes of the nobility, who are known for their wealth and power. These grand estates are filled with beautiful gardens and courtyards, and are often adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals. Outside the city walls, the landscape is dotted with small villages and nomadic encampments. These communities are home to herders and farmers, who make their living tending to the region's yaks and sheep. Despite its remote location, Dharmaling is a city of great importance, both culturally and politically. It is a place of pilgrimage for Monks, Merchants and laypeople from all over the world, and is also a hub of trade and commerce. The people of Dharmaling are proud of their heritage and their way of life, and are fiercely protective of their city and its traditions.
A 30 minute walk to the west of Dharmaling lies the Temple of Tong Thang, the Beehive Temple, as visitors approach the temple, they are greeted by the gentle humming of bees that buzz around the entrance, seemingly inviting them inside, the entrance is adorned with ornate wooden doors intricately carved with depictions of bees in flight, the temple is home to hundreds of bee colonies. The interior of the temple is a marvel of craftsmanship. The walls are adorned with honeycomb patterns carved into the stone, creating a mesmerizing visual display. Soft light filters through small openings in the dome-shaped ceiling, the centerpiece of the temple is a large altar made of honey-colored stone, adorned with intricate carvings of bees and honeycombs, where devotees offer their prayers and offerings. The Temple of Thong Tang is a place of worship dedicated to the reverence of bees and their significance in nature and the cycle of life, every day priests and priestesses of The Mother make their way to the temple to tend to the bees, bringing them water and sliced fruits, every year there is a festival outside the temple where priests and priestesses of Caihong distribute honey gathered from the bees.
Monyul is home to a large lake called Jangchub Tso, the lake is bordered by lush green forests and snow-capped mountains to the south-east, a product of Monyul's border with Taishigang.
On the edge of the lake there is a large city called "Gangri Thang", which is known for its fish markets and skilled boatwrights, nobles from the surrounding Kingdoms often commission boatwrights from Gangri Thang to build grand freshwater barges for them.
Several villages surround the lake, mostly fishing and farming communities, every spring fishermen from these villages make their way to Gangri Thang with hundreds of fish, hoping to hock their catch to fishmongers, tourists and Company of the Wind officers.
The fish they carry is mainly the several species of trout that live in the lake but a few of the lucky ones carry the Golden Mahseer, a gleaming fish variety that is said to be very difficult to catch, although the taste of the fish pales in comparison to the trout, the Golden Mahseer is revered for its scales that give off a vibrant golden glow, these scales are often used in ceremonial dress of the region adoring clothing and jewellery.
The people of Monyul are also skilled artisans, known for their intricate weavings and pottery. The kingdom is home to many workshops and marketplaces, where merchants sell their wares to buyers from all over the region. The people of Monyul are known for their skill at horsemanship, and the kingdom is home to some of the finest cavalry units in the region. The army of Monyul is also composed of archers and spearmen, who are trained in the art of mounted combat and guerrilla warfare.
The most prestigious regiment of Monyul is a cavalry unit called the White Tigers, the horsemasters of the White Tigers are known as the strictest in the Tonpa Kingdoms, if a horse fails a single training drill both the horse and rider are deemed unworthy. The White Tigers main weapon is a thick spear, painted red with a bronze spearhead, it has a heavy counterweight at the back that also doubles as a blunt weapon. Their secondary weapons are a heavy sword and a short bow.

2023.06.07 09:48 Chunidle 3-Day Itinerary - Visiting Houston with GF for the first time this weekend

Hello Houston!
My GF and I (both 23) are international students here in the Midwest US, we just graduated and have been to other bigger cities in the country (Chicago, NYC, DC, etc.) But we decided to visit your wonderful city this weekend. We'll be there for about 3 and half days, not enough to explore everything Houston has to offer, but just enough to see the highlights of it. We'll be renting a car too since we heard that is Houston's best mode of transportation.
Our main goal for this trip is to spend some quality time together, exploring the city and relaxing, while not spending a large sum of money. I built a rough itinerary and wanted to get some feedback from you folks (the locals) if anything seems improper. Please let me know if there is anything that I have missed about Houston, and any recommendations on where to get food and what else to do!
Thank you!
We'll be staying at an Airbnb in midtown, near Buffalo Bayou Park. We also intentionally avoid the Aquarium because we heard it's pretty depressing.
Day 0.5 (THU)
Day 1 (FRI)
Day 2 (SAT)
Day 3 (SUN)
My GF also really like going to cafes, so we'll pick a couple of these to visit:

2023.06.07 09:40 Xano2113 It Is Very Unlikely That Any Fire Nation War Criminals Were Put On Trial

At the end of the war it should be noted that the Fire nation was never technically defeated but rather had a change of leadership. They are still have the world's most powerful military while the other nations are in shambles. The Air Nomads are extinct, the Water Tribes are too small and isolated with one of them being near decimated and Earth Kingdom is too weak and divided to function properly.
With this in mind there is no one who would be able to bring Fire Nation war criminals to justice except the Fire Nation themselves. This would mean that it is very unlikely for Fire Nation war criminals to be tried and punished. The Rough Rhinos for example committed numerous atrocities in the Earth Kingdom such as the razing of many villages which killed lots of innocent people like Jet's parents. After the war ended the merely ended up as mercenaries working as hired security for the Earthern Fire Refinery before presumably moving onto other jobs.
Considering that Zuko was branded a traitor before taking the throne it would be safe to assume that he would be disliked by a large portion of the population. If he wanted to put certain Fire Nation military leaders on trial it would most likely be incredibly controversial among his own people. These officials would probably be considered war heroes by their people and putting them on trial would incite anger from both the nobility and the general public, which would only destabilize Zuko's rule.
Aang would probably be no help on this either since while the Avatar wields a lot of power, there is only so much that he can do especially since over a century of propaganda made the people of the Fire Nation distrustful of the Avatar. At most, Zuko can replace the officials who served under his father with new ones that are loyal to him, make reparations to the other nations and pass laws to change how his country's institutions are run, like the education system for example.
Many fans were probably expecting a Nuremberg style trial for Fire Nation war criminals but forget that the Nuremberg trials were able to happen because the Allies defeated the Axis powers and were in a much more powerful position over them which is not the case here. Given Izumi's sentiment in Season 4 of LOK, it seems very likely that the Fire Nation has come to terms with what they did during the Hundred Year War but since the show is set over 70 years after ATLA ended almost all of those perpetrators would have been long dead and thus too late.

2023.06.07 09:18 AutoModerator Here’s Where To WATCH Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online Free at Reddit

Sony Pictures! Here are options for downloading or watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch marvel's latest live-action adaptation movies at home. Is Spider-Verse 2 available to stream? Is watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse on Peacock, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
Watch Now: Spider Man: Across the Spider Verse Movie Online
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be in theaters beginning June 2. If you're wondering how and where you can watch it yourself, take a look at the information below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.

The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only a few weeks away, and fans can’t wait to see the new adventures of Miles Morales. Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Here’s what you need to know.

'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' features the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy. Just before the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, producers of the feature have announced a couple of other projects. Producer Amy Pascal has announced a forthcoming third installment titled Beyond the Spider-Verse expected to be released next year. That is not the only project announced.

Paint-on-glass, Realistic Cartoon-style to Japanese Manga, makers explore not a couple but way too many animation styles! Shameik Moore’s Miles, in a way, gets a Star-Lord-like treatment in which he beautifully balances his character arc without overstepping the broader scheme of things. Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen finally gets a chance to narrate her side of things, and it mixes well with the ‘star-crossed’ relationship she’s currently sharing with Miles.

If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel. You won’t be waiting long, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally coming out in 2023, a full five years later. It’s been a long wait but by all indications the film is going to be a blast for fans of comic book movies, Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man, and this new animated franchise featuring the iconic webslinger.

Modern cinema has seen the gap between theatrical and streaming releases shorten dramatically, begging the question of when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release online. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming releases have been much closer to the theatrical release of films. While the mid-COVID marketing technique of releasing movies in theaters and on streaming services at the same time for an extra price is a thing of the past, the gap between the respective releases is still considerably shorter than in decades past.

While we currently don’t know the exact online release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we do know the movie will be released in cinemas worldwide, including the US and UK, on June 2nd, 2023. We know where to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online, but do we also know when? We can guess once again, assuming it charts the same theater-to-streaming path as Into the Spider-Verse did in 2018 with two months between the theatrical release and its digital renting/buying services. You may be able to buy or rent the movie digitally as early as late July of this year, with a physical release roughly a month or so after that, if not sooner. This also means that you will probably be able to stream Spider-Man: Across on Netflix in early December 2023, as it took about six months from Into the Spider-Verse’s release before the movie landed on the streamer.

When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.

When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.

As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.

Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.

For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.

How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.

Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.

As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.

Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:

Watch Now: Spider-Verse (2023) Movie Online Free

Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023. In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases. This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.

When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Where will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stream specifically? Due to an ongoing deal between Netflix and Sony (remember that these movies are not produced by Disney), Across the Spider-Verse will see Netflix as the streaming home for the film when it finishes its theatrical run. It will no doubt make its way to Disney+ eventually, as Disney and Sony do have an agreement for Disney to include Sony’s Spider-Man content in their offerings, but that will at least be some time after Across the Spider-Verse has come out on Netflix.

In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.

Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.

While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.

Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.

Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

*I am in treatment long term for anxiety and PTSD. I have wanted a dog consistently over the past 2 years, but I worry that introducing a dog into my life could be either a really good thing, or a really bad thing (fear of being unable to step up/push through my Stuff and care for the dog the way they deserve) so I am trying to think through every single angle of this before I commit and bring a dog into my home. I love animals and I know it would bring a light into my life right now to have a dog's unconditional, non-judgemental love and companionship again, and to get into a daily routine for the dog's sake, as I've been unable to do so for myself. I take better care of my cat than myself, and the same would go for a dog, absolutely. I feel the level of care a dog requires could benefit my recovery process, especially if I am able to train the dog to help me with my symptoms and be a reason to get out of bed/out of the house. So if anyone has experience-- positive or negative-- with getting and/or training their dog to help with your mental health issues, I would love to hear how it went for you. I'm also open to any general feedback, or gentle corrections if I am misinformed or misguided about anything I've written here. Thanks for reading!

Seataoo Scam nga ba?
https://preview.redd.it/fmopq78tgj4b1.jpg?width=2100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c36f0d50099d830c97c24380726bc7c12f76968

First, let’s discuss what is Seataoo?

Seataoo is an online cross-border e-commerce platform, Seataoo Philippines was established on October 2022. As a rookie cross-border e-commerce platform, Seataoo has been favored by users since its establishment. Currently, they got over 300,000 users as of June 2023 and serve 25 countries, yes! Seataoo not only sells or provides services within the Philippines but Globally.
Seataoo also owns e-commerce websites like Shopee and Lazada. They also got an app in Android and IOS, achieving this platform as a rookie who just established last 2022 is already amazing. Although, I notice there a still some improvements needed to make their website, and app more user and customer friendly.
You can also find them in their office on the 12th Floor, Cocolight Building, 39th Street corner 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila, or contact them on their telephone number (02) 8712-7516 or reach them thru email at [email protected]. They also got a warehouse here in the Philippines but the address is not mentioned, so I’ll mention it here once I got the details.

Next, Let’s discuss the Seataoo Business Model.

Seataoo provides a comprehensive set of tools and resources to help business owners build and run their online stores effectively. This includes templates for the store design, access to a powerful sports product warehouse, payment processing tools, and various marketing tools to promote their business and attract customers. By providing all these essential foundations, Seataoo aims to simplify the process of running an online business and enable business owners to focus on their core competencies and grow their business.
They provides free advertising and online traffic to help each store achieve sales, which is a significant advantage for independent business owners who may struggle to attract customers on their own. By choosing Seataoo’s platform and services, these business owners can gain greater visibility and generate more revenue.
They carefully select partners for suppliers, warehouses, logistics, and payment providers to help business owners by providing them with cost-effective and secure solutions. By sourcing products directly from factories and using cheap and safe logistics methods, They can offer affordable prices and fast delivery to customers. And by partnering with trusted payment providers, Seataoo ensures payment security for both buyers and sellers.
All of these services help business owners focus on running their stores and selling their products without worrying about logistics and payment issues. Seataoo has its own customer service team trained to handle all kinds of after-sales services to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes addressing any issues with product quality, shipping, and returns. By having a dedicated team to handle these tasks, business owners can focus on other aspects of their business and not have to worry about customer service.

Now let’s Google the meaning of E-Commerce and Dropshipping so you understand more.

What is “E-Commerce”?

E- commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services online. It involves the use of the internet and digital technologies to conduct transactions between businesses, individuals, and/or governments. E-commerce has revolutionized the way people shop and do business, making it more convenient and accessible to a wider audience. It includes various types of transactions, such as business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) transactions like Lazada, Amazaon and Shoppee.

What is “Dropshipping”?

In Drop shipping, the seller does not have to hold inventory or worry about managing a warehouse. Instead, they rely on the third-party supplier to fulfill the orders directly to the customers. This allows the seller to focus on marketing, customer service, and growing their business without the added costs and time associated with managing inventory and shipping logistics.

How Seataoo earn from this kind of Business model?

Dropshipping business relies on finding the best products to market to their customers and typically do not need to worry about sourcing, storing, or shipping the products themselves. Seataoo’s professional warehouse directly purchases products from factories without going through distributors, allowing sellers to maximize their profits by offering competitively priced products to their customers. Seataoo does not charge any commissions or intermediary fees, only earning a slight price difference when supplying goods.

Seller Obligation and Requirements

What is a Seller?

The seller is the one going to choose which product going to sell on the Seataoo e-commerce seller website and the one who going to fund the initial worth of each product they sold.

What is the requirement to be a Seller?

  • Patience, ROI (return of investment) can’t happen in just a few days, it may take time depending on your seller site’s performance and the products you are selling. If you don’t have this then this is not for you.
  • the initial investment to fund your Seataoo wallet (you only need to fund your wallet when you got orders) You can start with any amount but I think the ideal is 5,000 PHP ~ 30,000 PHP as initial capital or “puhunan”. Once you’re familiar with the process, you can now go for a bigger capital.
  • You must be 18 yrs old and above
  • You need a valid ID like National ID, Passport, Driver’s License, etc for verification.
  • You need a cellphone or laptop and internet
  • You need a PH bank account to withdraw your profit and cash in.
  • Gcash, optional only for easier cash-in process
  • You need to a referral code: 81355897ll (for faster approval of your seller account) or you can register here with referral ready link.
  • Once your seller account was approved, wait for the account specialist to contact you before publishing a product, He/She may contact you from your mobile, or email so don’t forget to add it to your profile setting.
  • Tips: as a beginner, I suggest choosing a product that cost less than 200 PHP, so you’re not overwhelmed with bulk orders. Imagine you choose 500 PHP worth of products and you got 20 orders worth 500 PHP that’s 10,000 PHP initial capital needed.
Note: Everyone can be a seller as long you got those requirements above even if you’re not based in the Philippines.

Potential Income in Seataoo

Income in Seataoo depends on the value of the sold products, on each product you can earn from 3% to 7% of its value.
For example, If you set a 7% markup on all your products, you can earn 7,000 PHP on every 100,000 PHP you sold
Maybe you worrying about how you can sell 100,000 worth of products in Seataoo then worry no more Seataoo is Global it serves 25 countries and that billion potential customers and all of its sellers mostly received bulk orders every day. based on other sellers’ experience 100,000 PHP of sales can be reached in less than a month and if you put bigger capital and place higher price products in your store 100,000 PHP can easily reach in just a week or two.
Sellers do not need to worry to market their shops as Seataoo will do all the marketing (Google ads. Facebook ads, Tiktok ads, etc). Mostly they just need to worry to fund the initial worth of their products from day 1 to the 25th until their frozen funds are moved to their wallet balance then all you need is to reinvest your current profit to get more profit or withdraw it.
Based on my observation of how everyone gets a pie, here’s an example, we a sold product with an original worth 1,000 PHP from the factory and we sold it for 1200 PHP in our shop, so 200 PHP is our net profit. This is 200 PHP net, 100 I think will go to Seataoo and 30 is for the shipping fee, and the last 70 will be our profit with this Seataoo and Seller both get profit in the end and our customer will get a free shipping promo. it’s a win-win for everyone.

Advantage of being a Seller early in Seataoo

Remember all products in Seataoo can be sold by its seller and as of now you can’t add your own personal products (maybe in future updates) means everyone is selling the same item. For example, if you search for an item costing 200 PHP and below, you will see more than 30x search results for one item because every seller now selling it means it’s too saturated. So being an early seller is a benefit since your shop can have more reviews and sales than the new seller who just joined recently, reviews will attract more buyers, and it’s a sign of trust. Another benefit of being early you can advertise Seataoo and earn a 3% sales commission from new members you ask to join.

Many people advertising Seataoo and asking for putting their referral ID

One reason is that your referrer will gain a 3% commission on every sale you got. This 3% will be deducted from the commission Seataoo earns from your sales, not from your commission. Also not from the amount of money you invested as capital. Seataoo is an e-commerce + dropshipping business, not an investment platform or networking business.
Putting a referral ID is a must, for your seller account so it will be approved ASAP.
as Referrers their responsibility (not mandatory) is to guide their subordinate, on how to operate their shop, teaching them how to cash in, how to add products, what are the best products for starters, how to pick up orders, and how to withdraw their earnings. so if you’re planning to be a seller in Seataoo, do not just add their referral ID, look for someone who offers to give their guidance and is willing to support you for your Seataoo journey.
If you got any more questions feel free to contact me at https://www.facebook.com/seataoodubaiph

Conclusion:

Technically Seataoo took every work you may need to do if you set up an e-commerce + dropshipping website, in terms of site maintenance, programming, inventory, warehouse, payment process, and delivery. All you need to do is to set up your seller account, put some funds on it to pay the initial worth of the product you sold, and then take the profit after the customer received the products which take 15-20 days timeframe.
Since Seataoo earns a small percentage on every product you sold as a seller, Why does Seataoo need to SCAM other people? It’s a win-win scenario since Seataoo and Seller both earn something on every product they sold on their website.
Still DYOR (do your own research), it’s your money so you’re the one responsible for it, and in case you invested make sure it’s only your extra money.
Disclaimer: The author is not related to Seataoo or part of them, I’m also a Seller and investor like you, here is my Seller website https://seataoo.com/shop/Sab-and-Migs-Enterprise-46420

national Log in crime Imported cannabis seeds flooding New Zealand mail system Luke Kirkeby 11:00, Nov 27 2018 STUFF About 19,000 cannabis seeds have been stopped from entering New Zealand this year (file photo). Cannabis seeds are flooding New Zealand's mail system with 19,000 caught at the border this year alone.
One recent case, involving multiple packages containing more than 30 seeds each, resulted in a significant drug bust in the South Waikato with two men arrested.
The Class C drug is mainly being imported from the Netherlands and United Kingdom, Northern Ports NZ customs manager Dominic Adams said.
GRANT MATTHEW/STUFF Most of the seeds are coming from the Netherlands and the UK (file photo). "We are finding cannabis seeds regularly in the mail system. In 2016 we got roughly 18,000 seeds; in 2017, 43,000 and it's dropped down to about 19,000 so far this year.

Advertise with Stuff The illicit mail isn't addressed to hot spots, per se. It covers most of the country, Adams said.
"That is the reason why we work very very closely with the NZ Police, particularly in the districts.
"We see large fluctuations each year on seizure amounts so I wouldn't say it is less or more prevalent now compared to a number of previous years.
ADVERTISEMENTCONTENT RESUMES ON SCROLL "Last year was an anomaly at 43,000, that was quite large," he said.
Senior Sergeant Jason Henderson said two Tokoroa locals were arrested recently following the execution of a search warrant at a house seeds were addressed to.
"At the house we found other drug related equipment and items of interest and just on 100 cannabis plants," he said.
Henderson said people try to import cannabis seeds to guarantee getting female plants.
"The female plants are the ones that grow the buds which hold the highest tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but if you have a male plant anywhere near them, instead of growing a bud, they will go straight to seed.
"If you get seeds here in NZ chances are you might get a male which doesn't grow any buds so they are basically worth nothing and that is why they are importing them, they are guaranteed females," he said.
Adams said it was not worth the risk with New Zealand Customs and police coming down hard on importers.
"My message is that it is best that you don't because either New Zealand Customs or the NZ Police will come knocking on your door and we will be asking questions as to why.
"The ramifications can be quite serious," he said.
The maximum penalty for importing, growing, cultivating and/or supplying cannabis is eight years imprisonment.

2023.06.07 07:43 nsideus Trip Report - 19 days in Japan with an infant and a toddler

We are a family of 4 with two young kids, a toddler who’s nearing 3 years old and an infant who is 9 months old. We visited Japan in May of 2023 for 18 nights. We stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and took day trips to Nara and Kobe.
Some people might call us crazy for taking an international trip with two small children. But my wife and I, who were avid travelers before we had kids, hadn’t been out of the country since 2019 due to 1) having kids and 2) Covid. We were itching for a trip, so we took the chance. Were there some crazy times? Of course. Was it worth it? Definitely.
I did a lot of research and prep before the trip, but there are always surprises that come up when you have kids. I’ll try to share some of the lessons I learned on the trip.
—Flights—
This was our first time on an airplane with the kids. I was a bit worried beforehand and in retrospect the flights were the worst parts of the trip. The main advice I’d give is do as much as you can to make your flight more tolerable, which no doubt means spending more money on tickets and gear. But it’s worth it.
I considered a few different airlines for this trip: ZipAir, Singapore, ANA, and Japan Airlines. JAL was too expensive. ZipAir was interesting because they provide car seats, you don’t have to take your own. We didn’t rent a car in Japan so we didn’t need our own car seats. I was just worried about racking up extra fees on ZipAir. Singapore and ANA were similar, they both provide bassinets and the price was similar. I ended up going with ANA for two reasons: 1) I had flown ANA on a previous trip and been happy with them and 2) they fly to Haneda instead of Narita, which saves you time getting from the airport to your hotel.
We opted for 3 seats and a bassinet. My infant is big for her age so she barely fit in the bassinet (she’s 21 pounds). But we were glad to have it. I had to call in to ANA customer service which had an hour+ wait time to get the bassinet, but other than that it was no trouble.
Which leads me into probably the most important part of flying with kids on a lengthy flight: get your kids to sleep on the plane. The more they sleep the less likely you are to run into a tantrum or meltdown.
To encourage sleeping we did a few things: 1) Take an overnight flight 2) Get a bassinet for our infant 3) Get a JetKids bed box for our toddler. Our ANA flight from LAX left at 5pm, which allowed time for the dinner service to show up before we put our kids to bed. They set the bassinet up right after you get to cruising altitude, so it’s there the majority of the flight. Our infant rejected it at first but eventually fell asleep.
As far as our toddler sleeping, the JetKids worked well. There was a bit of trouble with it staying in place since we had bulkhead seats, but overall I was happy with it as a bed. I absolutely hate the JetKids a piece of luggage though, it’s not easy to lug around and holds nearly nothing. But it helped our toddler stay asleep most of the flight. You don’t necessarily need a JetKids though, other airline seat bed solutions may work just as well. Just bring something that will help your toddler sleep. If we had to do it again, I think I’d prefer having car seats over both the bassinet and JetKids. That’s probably what we’ll do on the next trip.
There were a few unexpected problems we ran into on the flights. On the first flight, our infant got motion sickness and spit up multiple times. She ruined one of my shirts and my wife’s pants. Not to mention my wife got motion sickness as well so I had to do most of the heavy lifting with the kids alone. It was a sleepless and messy flight.
On our flight home, there was a mechanical issue with the plane. They said we were losing oil. So on a Tokyo to Los Angeles flight we somehow ended up landing In Anchorage, Alaska. It goes without saying this was horrible and the flight home from Anchorage on Alaska Airlines was horrible too. But that’s not really relevant to flying to/from Japan so I’ll leave the details out. We won’t be flying with ANA ever again.
To reiterate, do what you can to make your flight easier. Get the non-stop flight. Get the extra seat. This isn’t the area to be frugal.
—Stroller—
So you survived the flight. How do you get your kids around once you’ve landed? We have two kids so we need a twin stroller right? Wrong. Taking a twin stroller to Japan is a huge mistake, don’t do it.
Most guides will tell you to use a carrier, and if you only have one small infant then that’s likely the way to go. But with two kids we used a travel stroller and carrier combo. At first I expected to only use the carrier and carry the stroller around until we needed it, but I quickly realized that carrying the stroller around all day is a huge pain. We have the Cybex Libelle which is small at 13lbs, but 13lbs is still heavy enough that you don’t want to carry it all day.
So our stroller remained deployed basically all the time. My infant sat in the stroller most of the day, until it was my toddler’s nap time. Then the infant went in the carrier and toddler in the stroller to sleep. It worked well for us.
How did we keep the stroller deployed the whole time? Elevators. Lots of elevators. And occasionally carrying it up and down stairs. The availability of elevators depends on where you are. Of the cities we visited, I’d say Tokyo is the best and Kyoto is the worst for elevator availability.
The wide majority of metro and train stations are going to have elevators. It can be hard to find the right entrance to use to find an elevator, but there is always signage and almost always a map. You may need to walk an extra 5 minutes, or wait in line, or get lost, so always give yourself extra time when catching a train if you are using your stroller. We spent a LOT of time looking for elevators on this trip.
We only found two stations our whole trip that had no elevator at all, one was the JR Kobe station and the other was a JR station in Tokyo (I forget which one). When this happened, I picked up the stroller and carried it with our infant in it on the stairs. If our toddler was in it I made her get up and walk, then carried the stroller.
The other problem at metro / train stations with a stroller is the gap between the train and the platform. There’s always either a gap or the train and platform are at different elevations. You don’t have a lot of time to get on / off the train so this was a constant source of anxiety. Once our stroller wheel got stuck in between the train and the platform. It took some effort to pop it out. Another time my toddler stepped in the gap, but luckily I was holding her hand and stopped her from falling in. Always be mindful of the gap when you have kids. It’s probably one of the least safe situations you’ll constantly run into in Japan.
Malls and shopping centers almost always have elevators. You may need to wait a while to get one though. In the malls with 10+ floors, you might need to wait 5 minutes for an elevator. Sometimes they have “priority” elevators for the handicapped and strollers but often times perfectly abled people rudely take up all the space in those elevators.
We thought we would have trouble taking our stroller into restaurants but it was actually much less trouble than expected. There was only one restaurant that flat out turned us away, Sushi Tokyo Ten in Roppongi. Other establishments will usually move a chair so you can put your stroller at the table or counter where the chair was.
So overall the stroller was annoying to use but I don’t think we could have done the trip without it. It was a necessary evil with two young kids.
—Shinkansen—
We used the Shinkansen to get between cities. We had two trips, Tokyo to Kyoto and Osaka to Tokyo. We did not bother with the JR Pass, it wasn’t worth it. Mostly because our trips were 8 days apart so we would’ve needed the 14 days pass which wasn’t worth it for two Shinkansen trips.
One thing that caught us off-guard about the Shinkansen is how quickly it leaves a station when it makes a stop. We were expecting to have some time to get on when the train arrived, but it’s basically the same as a Metro stop. You have to get on right away. We made the mistake of buying a reserved seat for a train leaving in less than 15 minutes, without knowing where the elevator was. So we scrambled to get to where we needed to go on the platform and were the last ones on the train. We jumped on the train at the last second, we wanted to get to our specific car from the platform but we weren’t going to make it. It’s a miracle we didn’t lose a piece of luggage or a kid on the way. On the second trip I reserved a seat on a train that was 40 minutes out.
As far as seating we only needed to buy two seats. We would have put our toddler on our lap if needed, but we didn’t need to. Basically, one side of the train has 2 seats and the other 3. If you find a row that has the window seat open on the 3 seat side, then it is very unlikely anyone will sit in the aisle seat if you reserve the window and middle seat. We basically got a free seat for our toddler this way on both trips.
—Baby supplies—
We had more trouble than expected finding baby supplies. A lot of guides online tell you to go to drugstores, and maybe we were going to the wrong drugstores but that wasn’t working out for us. We were distraught until we by chance came across Babies R Us. Yes, the Babies R Us that went out of business in the USA. We happened to be browsing the malls in Odaiba when we came across this gem. It’s a treasure trove of western style baby food and supplies.
Our infant is in the “purée” food stage and we didn’t find any in drugstores. Most of the baby food is juice or rice porridge. Babies R Us has aisles worth of puréed food. It has diapers, wet wipes, formula, nose cleaners, and basically anything else you’d ever want for your baby. We stocked up on everything when we found this place. There are several locations but we went to the Odaiba location in Tokyo and the Harborland location in Kobe.
Another smaller store we found in the mall below Tokyo Skytree is Dadway. They don’t have as much as Babies R Us but we did pick up some purée here.
The other place we picked up diapers and a few others things is Don Quijote, which has locations all over the place. Their baby food collection is basically as limited as drugstores, but it’s fine in a pinch.
—Eating—
I’ve spoken a lot about logistics, but I had one primary reason for going to Japan: to eat tasty food. I had been to Japan once before I had kids and fell in love with the food.
Most guides will tell you families should go to family restaurants. Nope. Not happening. We did not go to a single Saizeriya or Bikkuri Donkey. And I definitely did not go through all of this trouble to eat at Denny’s. We went to a total of ZERO family restaurants.
I’m here to tell you there are plenty of good restaurants you can go to with kids. Even with a baby. Even with a baby and a toddler.
I’ll tell you my main approach to finding restaurants that will allow kids to dine with you. Your main tools are: Tablelog, Google Maps, and the individual restaurant websites. Tablelog is a great tool and their “with children” section on the restaurant info page is very accurate. If a restaurant is listed as “Babies are welcome” or “Baby Strollers accepted”, then you can very likely eat there with a baby. If a place does not have such a listing, it isn’t necessarily a no, it’s a maybe. That’s when you need to search Google Maps reviews for “kids”, “children”, “family” to see if anyone mentions the restaurant’s stance on such things. If you can’t find anything on Google Maps, go to the restaurant’s website. If they have an online reservation system, it is likely to list their stance on kids on the reservation page.
I did a lot of research beforehand and pinned all the relevant restaurants on Google Maps. That way, no matter where I was, I could find some good kid tolerant restaurants. I say “kid-tolerant” instead of “kid friendly” because I consider “kid-tolerant” to mean that they let kids in the restaurant, while “kid-friendly” means they have a kid’s menu, high chairs, etc.
We were able to eat at a wide variety of restaurants, from overpriced Michelin starred places to budget Omakase places. There are a lot of restaurants in Japan. If a restaurant doesn’t let you in because you have kids, it’s fine because there’s another similar one that will.
This is a list of good restaurants we ate at with our infant and toddler. These are just the places we made it to, there were plenty more I had on my list we didn’t make it to:
Gion Maruyama, Gion, Kyoto
Sushi Wakon, Four Seasons, Kyoto
The Oak Door, Grand Hyatt, Tokyo
Kobe Plaisir, Kobe
Roku Roku, Grand Hyatt, Tokyo
Daiwa Sushi, Toyosu Market, Tokyo
Inshotei, Ueno Park, Tokyo
Sushidan, Eat Play Works, Tokyo
Nishiya, Shinsaibashi, Osaka
Tonkatsu Wako, JR Isetan, Kyoto
Soju Dining, Tokyo Midtown, Tokyo
Imakatsu, Roppongi, Tokyo
Mizuno, Dotonbori, Osaka
Rokurinsha, Tokyo Station, Tokyo
Tsumigi, Tsukiji, Tokyo
Lots of different food stalls in Tsukiji Market, Tokyo
Other times we ate at conveyor belt sushi places, department store basements, or ramen places. The basements are a good place to get something for everyone. My toddler ate a lot of gyoza and noodles on this trip, she didn’t take a liking to much else. But Ichiran and Ippudo were right down her alley.
Tsukiji market was our go to breakfast place when we stayed in Tokyo. There’s plenty of different choices there and it opens early enough for jet-lagged families.
Overall I had a great time eating. If my toddler is eating she’s usually not having a tantrum, and we tried as best as possible to put our infant to sleep before we went to any higher end restaurants. There were some awkward tantrum moments but for the most part it was fine.
—City by City Report—
Tokyo
We had two different stays in Tokyo, the first after landing in Japan and the second right before departing Japan. We stayed a total of 10 nights in Tokyo, but we wish we had even more.
We could have come to Tokyo alone the whole trip and been perfectly content. It has the best food, the most kid friendly facilities, and there’s plenty to see and do.
Here’s a few choice things we did with the kids:
DisneySea: My toddler loved this one. We’ve been to Disneyland in SoCal but this is completely different. Even I was excited since it’s been a long while since I’ve been to an unexplored Disney park. A lot of people will say DisneySea is for older kids but there were plenty of rides my toddler could get on. It’s a great place for toddlers. A must visit with kids.
Ueno park: We spent a whole day in Ueno Park. There’s a great zoo, a fun Natural History Museum, and good restaurants. We picked up bento boxes from Inshotei and ate them at a picnic table in the zoo. I think this park is also a must do with kids.
One of the city views: you have a few choices here but we went to Tokyo Skytree and Shibuya Sky. Shibuya sky is a little less kid friendly, because they don’t allow strollers on the roof and they have some weird rules about holding your baby on the roof. I think they’re scared of a wind gust pulling your baby off the roof? I like the mall at Tokyo Skytree, and there’s a Rokurinsha there too (very good dipping ramen).
Small Worlds: This is a miniature museum on one of the man-made islands in the bay. It’s a little out of the way, but we made a day out of Toyosu Market, Small Worlds, and Odaiba. My toddler liked this one, the exhibits are interactive and fun to look at. It was better than expected.
Other than that we did a lot of eating and shopping in Tokyo for us adults.
Kyoto
Kyoto was probably our least favorite city to do with kids. In general it’s just hard to get around. There’s a lot of stroller unfriendly places. Streets without sidewalks. Rough cobblestone-like roads. Temples are not stroller friendly. Hills everywhere. Good luck getting to the top of the monkey park with a stroller. It’s definitely a trend in this city.
Maybe if you have older kids it’s fine. But if you have younger than elementary school kids it’s probably skippable. There’s not that many kid friendly activities here either. Temples aren’t interesting for kids. The best kid activity here is probably the Arashiyama Monkey Park. My toddler got a real kick out of feeding the monkeys. Just be aware there is a significant hike to get to the top of the hill where the monkeys are. My toddler is a pretty good walker, she made it all the way without crying or complaining. But I saw some other kids that didn’t fare as well.
The other thing you might try near the monkey park is the Arashiyama bamboo forest. I think it’s one of the most overrated sights in Japan though. It’s just mobbed with tourists all day. It’s not enjoyable with the crowds. I’ve been here twice and I’ve been disappointed both times.
I doubt we will be back to Kyoto any time soon.
Osaka
Osaka was nice. It was a bit refreshing to have many of the Tokyo conveniences again. Elevators everywhere, well paved and flat roads, and plenty of baby rooms.
Osaka is a good base for taking nearby day trips as well. We went to both Kobe and Nara without needing to take the Shinkansen.
The best kid experience in Osaka is the Kaiyukan aquarium. It’s big. The central tank with the whale sharks is impressive. They have lots of different animals from all over the world. It’s bigger and better than any aquarium we have in California.
The one thing I wasn’t prepared for was the lines. You need to pre-book your timed entry tickets online. We didn’t, and ended up getting tickets that were for entry two hours later. And we were there right when they opened. If I go to the aquarium at opening time on a weekday where we are from we can walk right in. Lesson learned.
We stayed in Shinsaibashi and it’s a very walkable area. There’s a covered shopping street that goes all the way down to Dotonbori. Namba is walkable from there. And America-mura is between Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori.
The Daimaru mall in Shinsaibashi is good for kids. There’s a Bornelund in there with a small indoor playground, a Pokémon Center, and good food.
I liked Osaka overall. The only thing I thought was a let down was okonomiyaki.
Nara
Nara was worth the trip. It’s about 45 minutes from Namba on the train, so not too out of the way.
There’s deer all over. Deer that bow to you. In the park, on the sidewalk, in the street. It’s a unique experience you should see at least once.
The deer are rather aggressive when you have food for them. It’s not a place where you want your kids feeding the deer. As soon as you buy the food from the street vendor, they mob you. They try to snatch the food out of your hand. Make sure you watch someone else do it first before deciding to do it yourself. If I let my toddler do it she probably would have been terrified.
The other must see in Nara is Todai-ji. It’s impressive. The giant Buddha is something. This was probably the best temple we saw on this trip, it’s visually stunning. More than anything we saw in Kyoto. I did have to carry the stroller up and down some steps, but there’s not too many.
Kobe
Kobe was great. It exceeded my expectations. The trip from Osaka is easy. We spent a full day there.
We started our one day in Kobe at the Nunobiki Herb Gardens. I wasn’t expecting too much but this place is really nice. It’s big, with lots of different gardens and exhibits to see. There’s great views as well. We took lots of pictures.
There’s a few different places to eat and drink in the gardens as well. We had some sparkling rose at “The Veranda” which had a great view of Kobe. We didn’t eat because we had a lunch reservation down the hill.
There’s a few things to watch out for. This place gets busy, so get there early. There’s no reservations, you just go early and wait in line. When we left at midday the line was massive, so get there when they open.
The herb garden only takes up the top half the hill. At first I thought it extended to the bottom of the hill, but the bottom half of the hill is actually a hiking trail without gardens. So I bought a one way gondola ticket to the top expecting to walk down all the way, but after I realized the garden ended at the middle I bought another ticket to go down (instead of getting the round trip ticket like I should have).
After the gardens we went to eat Kobe beef. Kobe Plaisir was the restaurant I chose, which was both high end and had a kids menu. The beef was great and everyone had a good time.
Afterwards we went to Harborland. It’s a nice area on the harbor that has a big boat you can go out on, and a couple of shopping malls. The Anpanman museum is here too but by the time we got there tickets were sold out for the day. This is also where you can find a Babies R Us.
Our Kobe day was one of the best days of our trip. I’d suggest a day trip here for anyone.
—Closing—
It’s hard to travel with kids this age. No doubt. Everything will take more time and be more expensive than when you used to travel alone. But I do not regret taking this trip at all. As a matter of fact I want to go back right now. My wife loved the trip, and my toddler might even remember it when she grows up. She still talks about feeding the monkeys and how dad ate a “real fish” (A Japanese sweetfish they grilled in front of us at Gion Maruyama). Japan is a great place for a first family trip.
