Thoughts on negative review?
Whilst I think the critique on mixing and production may have some weight to it. As a whole most of the critiques I think are not valid at all and seem to be more personal taste than anything else. Much like the fantano review it’s full of odd points

2023.06.01 23:26 PuzzledRaise1401 Difficult Boomer

What should I do? (Trigger warning-a little politics here).
I manage two Boomers for a company where we are an isolated section, but we have a very specific job. I started a year ago as the manager. It is well known the male Boomer, let’s call him Fred, wanted my job. He has been with the company 15 years. Under the last manager’s watch, our office started shrinking. Covid made it worse, because we provide a service. Regardless, our business is very very slow. So Fred was interim manager while I was being hired. Fred is a highly unpleasant right-wing Boomer. He and the other woman, we will call her Pat, were supposed to meet me when I interviewed. Fred took the day off. He also did not come out of his office to greet me after I was hired. When I would ask Fred for instructions or procedures, he answers me in one word, or one sentence. Having held this entry-level position for 15 years, I asked Fred what he does day to day and attempted to say “hi” every day. The list, much of which I assumed, was shockingly small. One day, I offered to buy Fred and Pat lunch. I drive to get it and when I came back, as we started what I thought would be casual conversation, Fred launched into this discussion about how minorities and women should not have their own educational institutions, how he is “the only category of people it’s ok to discriminate against”, and systemic racism was not real. So there we are. This conversation did not end well for me as I am a woman and my husband is not white. Fred announced “You hate white people!” and that was it for me. Any conversation you get in with Fred somehow descends into right-wing talking points. Or Boomer talking points “When I was in the military, we wouldn’t allow ponytails!” Jesus. Like, do your job and STFU. So, the job…it’s simple. He and Pat spend the majority of the day watching tv. He also has this insane schedule where he comes in at 6 am and leaves at 2 pm. Business hours are 8-5 pm.
So, I am very relaxed and flexible as a manager. Do what you need to do, and we are good. Don’t mess with me and I will basically leave you alone. I haven’t changed his schedule and I let him sit in an office at the end of the hall where he basically does nothing for no one.
I do this because we have some big changes coming. I’ve been hired to make this office work better. I’ve been asked to do some things to make life easier for our customers and maybe increase revenue a little. When those things cascade down, and we put the proposal in place, both Fred and Pat will be forced to earn money. Wouldn’t you love $42K to watch tv and leave at 2 pm!?
So, performance reports came up. They’re not a big deal here. I rated Pat and Fred 3 or average, which honestly, with their constant complaints in a job where they watch tv all day seemed fair. I did not write anything negative. Very generic.
Fred starts acting sus. I see him walking up to HR. I know he’s up to something. So I ask Pat and Fred today if they read their reports and would they like to talk about anything. Pat is ok, will sign off. Fred, on the other hand, sits up and almost stuttering (he stutters but only while talking to me) tells me he “is waiting for a response on something” and when he gets it, if he has time, he will sign it. I’m like “ok, weirdo” (in my head) and I wait. He has added a negative comment to his review that his supervisor never gave him any expectations and he got 30 emails with goals. Those were ADP. When I added new goals for this year, I guess he got an email or 30.
So what do you think? I want him gone. I’m tired of his passive aggressive BS. Dude, just do what you’ve done for 15 years and retire in 2026. But no. He has to make everything into drama. I’m thinking of making a bunch of goals and having him do a weekly report on what he’s accomplished. Of course Pat would also have to. Careful what you wish for.
I worked hard to get a management level position and I have been so chill with these people and they are immovable, angry old people milking this place for a check. And he’s a conservative, remember? Work ethic? Nope. Every day I see them sucks my motivation right out. Any tips out there?

2023.06.01 22:16 Classic-Standard9403 Childcare centers - seeking honest input

This isn’t a “looking for childcare” post, more like we’re on every wait list possible and trying to decide what ones we might want to hold out for and which ones to skip over…
There are mixed reviews/limited info about a few centers in C’ville so I’m hoping people here are willing to share their experiences or DM me with any info about the following places: Bright Beginnings Mill Creek, Bright Eyes in Pantops, and the Earhart UVA affiliated infant care center.
To be clear - these aren’t the only centers we’ve spoken to, but they’re the ones I have the least info about or have seen some negative reviews from years past…
I’ve looked through the DSS website and read about recent violations. I also just want to hear about parents’ direct experiences. Ideally within the past year or so (not 3+ years ago)…
Also if anyone has any examples of getting a spot off waitlists earlier than expected, I could use a bit of optimism 😊 it’s rough out here in the working parent world.

2023.06.01 22:08 Legitimate-Heart-639 Does anyone else think it's weird that the writer for Millenials Are Killing Musicals is removing social media reviews and comments online?

See subject. On the BWW forums, the writer of the show said she had negative comments removed from the site and was willing to answer questions, but then dodges the ones asked... Anyone else find this really really weird?
I wish I could go online and have unfavorable reviews of my shows removed...

2023.06.01 21:56 TESLAkiwi Is this really true? (Scared I will be accused of using AI in my essays once I get my university results in July. I just finished my BA 2 weeks ago). How do I go about denying it? (I did use AI)

FAT text especially important
In response to my post (1st prompt)
do you agree or disagree with this answer I found online: "the person making a claim or accusation must provide evidence to support it. The burden of proof rests on the person who is making the claim or accusation, and not on the person who is being accused. It is often impossible to prove a negative claim, such as something that does not exist or did not happen, because proving a universal negative is difficult. Therefore, the burden of proof is often on the person making a positive claim or accusation rather than the person denying it, and we should be careful when making negative claims that we cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Answer from GPT:
The principle outlined in the quote you've found is a fundamental one in logic and critical thinking, as well as in many legal systems: the burden of proof generally lies with the person making a claim or an accusation.
Applied to your situation, this means that it's up to the university or the accuser to provide evidence supporting the claim that an AI was used, not on you to prove that it wasn't. As the quote rightly states, proving a negative claim, such as the non-use of AI, can be challenging, because it involves proving something that did not happen or does not exist.
However, it's also important to remember that individual institutions have their own policies and procedures for handling cases of potential academic misconduct. While the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" is widely respected, each university may interpret and apply this principle in its own way when it comes to academic integrity. Thus, understanding your university's specific policy is crucial.
So, in short, I agree with the concept that the burden of proof lies on the accuser. But be mindful that real-world application of this principle may vary based on the specific procedures of your institution or jurisdiction.

Me (2nd prompt)
innocent until proven guilty" is widely respected, each university may interpret and apply this principle in its own way when it comes to academic integrity. Thus, understanding your university's specific policy is crucial. - are you sure? This does not make much sense, at all.
GPT-4 said this in response:
The principle of "innocent until proven guilty" is indeed a cornerstone of justice and fair dealing in many societies and is typically adhered to in academic institutions as well.
However, in the context of academic integrity, different universities may have different processes for determining whether a breach has occurred. For example, some universities may operate on a balance of probabilities rather than requiring proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Others might place the burden of proof on the student to show they did not commit the alleged breach, particularly in cases where evidence of academic misconduct appears strong.
Still, any procedure should respect fundamental fairness and natural justice. If a university is to allege academic misconduct, it generally should provide some level of proof or at least strong evidence to support its claim.
To fully understand your rights and the procedures that will be followed in your case, it would be helpful to review your university's academic integrity policy or to seek advice from a trusted advisor or legal professional.
Again, I'm sorry for any confusion, and I hope this clarification is helpful. Your concerns are completely valid, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving this matter.

Finished! Final questions / Advice for 11th gen Civic owners
I'm driving a '22 Civic EX-L Hatchback and wanted to add some clear low-end to the mediocre sound system in my ride. I just finished my first install! Thanks to some of you who have been really helpful in answering questions so far.
I installed a Kicker Key 500.1 amp. Initially I had this Kicker 10" downfiring enclosure but was running into issues with the impedance (bad internal wiring, per Kicker's tech support). I also thought it was a little too muddy for my taste.
So, I exchanged the Kicker enclosure for this Pioneer TS-D10LB 10" enclosure. It is closer in RMS to my amp than the Kicker and I like the sound of a sealed box over the passive radiator of the Kicker...and it is basically just as loud, from what I can tell so far.
There were not any good reviews that I could find on the Pioneer TS-D10LB. If anyone is wondering, it hits hard and for someone like me who is not an audiophile, and values trunk space, this is a great setup.
_______

A few questions...

I am wondering why my amp seems to be running hot to the touch after 20 minutes of testing my new sub. I tested my ground (pictured) and it reads ~0ohms. I tested it by removing my amp's fuse, then putting one MM lead on the ground wire and the other on the place it was attached. Should I test it another way? Or check something else that could be making my amp run hot? Maybe the input voltage?
How do I check the input voltage properly? I want to make sure I am following the right steps. I was running a 50hz sine wave signal at 75% volume, with MM leads on my RCAs: negative on the barrel and positive on the tip of one RCA. Is this the right process? I followed the same steps (testing on the +/- terminals) to use an oscilloscope to set my gain, with the formula: sqrt(watts*ohms)
And finally, what are best practices for breaking in a new sub?
_______

For any 11th Gen Civic owners, here is what I learned in my install:

I figured I would share this in case it helps anyone else. First, start here with this post. I did a few things different, but not much. You can find the wiring schematic and photo of where to punch through the firewall, which is very helpful.
Removing the cover of the head unit was simple with a pry tool. I used a Kicker KISL adapter and soldering gun to tap into A15-18.
I ran 8 gauge poweground and speaker-level RCA's to my amp. BUT RUNNING RCA's THROUGH THE DASH WAS A PAIN! My solution: there are two vertical screws in the hood over the speedometer; remove those screws and you can see an opening to the back of the head unit to the right. Run the signal cable to the left and drop it down toward the hood release latch. I figured this out after maybe 2-3 hours of trying to fish wire BEHIND the speedometer...wish I tried it sooner.

Tiny amp! Running at 300w / 2ohms. (Photo rotated after uploading, the poweground is on the bottom)
It sounds good closer to the back of the trunk, can't decide if rear-firing or upward is better. I'll probably create an adjustable mechanism to secure it and allow for both positions.
Ground - I sanded this spot before attaching.

2023.06.01 21:18 WideMix8098 Do not buy from Express Motorsports in Lawrence Massachusetts. Huge warning

Don’t buy from these people. Don’t even think about it. I bought a 2008 Honda CRV for 8,000 from them in January, and by March the dashboard lit up with engine codes. The engine was completely dead by April, about 90 days after I bought the car. After basically threatening to sue them, they reluctantly agreed to trade for a car of much less value. I eventually decided against trading in fear of getting more problems from them. I sold the car to get not even half of my money back. There is no explanation for dropping a valve randomly after doing nothing but if anything, overly maintaining this car. This was the first car I owned in 2 years and it took a long time to save up this money, doing research and careful planning for nothing and a bad attitude when I came to them with my dead car they sold me. I would stay clear of this place at all costs. This is a warning.
Here is the copy of the timeline I sent to my lawyer:
Hi Kevin,
I bought an 08 Honda Crv from Eduardo Contreras at Express Motorsports Dealership in Lawrence, Massachusetts. I’ve done nothing but try to maintain the vehicle and the engine was dead within 2 months of purchasing the car.
Here is a timeline of events.
Jan 10 2023 at 4:30pm Traveled to Lawrence, Massachusetts to look at the vehicle which is a 2008 Honda Crv ex sport utility. Was told the “total loss” on the CarFax was a mistake the insurance company made with only minor front end damage. Was told the title was always clean. After reviewing the CarFax further it appears it had both a salvage and rebuilt title issued then later corrected in “error” then a clean title was issued. Put a $500 deposit down on the vehicle. At the time the dealership had no negative reviews. However on or around the time I bought my vehicle they received many negative reviews similar to mine.
January 12 2023
Bought my insurance policy for the vehicle.
January 17 2023
Was issued a temporary license plate to transport the vehicle from the dealership to my residence.
January 18 2023
Purchased the vehicle for 8,000. Was told the purchasing contract included a 30 day warranty for the entire vehicle. Purchaser contract had no disclosure of being subject to recalls. Tmps light was only light on the dash.
January 20 2023
Registered the vehicle.
February 9th 2023
Vehicle passed state inspection.
Between February 9th and March 15th (can get exact date)
A letter was issued describing multiple airbag recalls dating back to 2016.
March 24 2023
Engine started shifting gears harder. No engine light. Oil life at 60%. Last oil change was preformed 121,500 miles. At 123,800 I preformed an oil change using the same oil that was written on the last oils change sticker. The oil life never increased.
March 26 The airbag light, check engine light, and hazardous conditions light turned on and never turned off. Developed a p303 engine code. Mechanical problems including engine misfire on cylinder 3 and a hard start. Mechanical issues never improved even after a tune up and attempting to fix all possible causes. List of what I spent to try and fix with receipts.
Spark plugs Coil packs Battery Fuel injector Tools Sea foam Oil Mass airflow cleaner Throttle body cleaner
April 3rd
Took vehicle to Honda dealership to replace airbags and have misfire diagnosed. Honda dealership declared engine failure with a dropped valve. Was quoted 3,000 to fix.
Communicated with Eddie the mechanical issues and requested compensation for selling me a dead engine. I asked questions regarding my warranty and discovered I was never given an official warranty in writing. Eddie said “ we have you a 30 day warranty on the engine and transmission only. It is in the purchase contract.” However upon inspection it was not. Asked him about the vehicle being subject to recalls and he denied that it was. This is when I discovered the odd verbiage on the CarFax about a rebuilt title issued in error after an insurance company deemed the car a total loss. Eddie agreed to give me a car of lesser value, then listed said car. Eddie insisted on communicating through voice notes and over the phone and not through text. I was not able to communicate over the phone at that time.
Arranged to trade cars on May 11th, however on Tuesday April 11, my engine started smoking and it is not safe the transport the vehicle back to Massachusetts. Also after reading a negative review about someone in my similar situation trading in a car to him, then later that car wasn’t suitable as well, I decided not to trade in. Id rather have my money back so I can purchase a safe, reliable vehicle than gamble with doing business with him again and trusting his vehicles.

2023.06.01 20:55 marksarenevercoming Ambr Crl Mlk 510 Thread, most confusing cart I've ever gotten

Never felt the need to publicly review a product through reddit but this cart deserves some discussion.
Cartridge: 10/10 It draws smoothly and has little to no room for clogging. Beautifully designed.
Taste: 11/10 This thing is frosted flakes and milk. Sometimes it tastes like bubble tea, other times it tastes like blueberry. Regardless, this is the best tasting cart I've ever had.
High: 0/10 If I could give this a negative score, I would. I've contacted them already but this thing is as close as it gets to 0% THC. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually sobers me up further.
Overall: 5/10 What the hell happened here? I've read lots of other threads and comments about the lack of high that this gives you. They're not wrong, it's nonexistent. Does this work amazingly as a no-high sugary flavored vape? Sure. Does it work as a means to get you high? Absolutely not in my case. This cart tastes too damn good to be wasted like this.

2023.06.01 20:46 Altruistic_Aerie_479 NEVER buy CVS Pregnancy Tests (False positive)

Last week I had the worst pregnancy scare of my life. I was 4 days late for my period (not out of the ordinary for me to be irregular a couple times a year) so I decided to take a CVS brand digital pregnancy test CVS Test since I already had it laying around (it was set to expire in 2025 so I was in the clear).
It comes back positive and I immediately drink some water and take two others which turn out negative, but I also figured I could have diluted the hormone by drinking.
I get a blood test the next day and it comes back negative but I am so so upset with the quality of these tests and I later find out that a friend of a friend is in an IVF facebook group and they talk about how bad CVS pregnancy tests are and how their doctors advise against them.
Will be using name brand pregnancy tests only from now on thank you very much!!
Feel like CVS should be held accountable for traumatizing us women with their inaccurate tests - even the reviews on their website speak of false positives.

2023.06.01 20:44 Gizmoguy55 Space marine chapter focus

Unfortunately, I feel like my worries about the changes in 10th have been verified. We now have the options to play any of the non codex chapters of: melee wolves, melee vampires, holy melee, terminators+, or deathwatch. And for codex compliant chapters, we can play as: ultramarines, ultramarines but a bit better in melee and maybe faster, ultramarines with more bolter, ultramarines with vehicles, stealth ultramarines, pyromaniac ultramarines, etc.
I’ve been holding judgement on the new edition for the most part since it hasn’t been released yet, but this seems like a bad move to me, especially since they also took all the 30k models plus some forge world models out of competitive. I get they’re trying to reduce complexity by removing what they consider fluff, but space marines are the most played faction in 40K by a lot. I’m betting I’m not the first person introduced to the setting purely because of space marines. Them having the most rules and unit variety makes sense given how many players use them. I can’t help but feel like they took out too much identity in the name of simplicity. I saw a similar post on the salamanders sub, and the dark angels look ticked too. (Some of this is to be expected, change is almost always criticized, but it seems like it’s getting a lot of negative reviews.)
What does everyone else think about this? Do we still feel like imperial fists?

2023.06.01 20:15 Substantial_Mix3697 ADVICE WANTED

Hello all, I am a 22 y.o.male and has been going bald since around the last half of 2021. Hair noticeably was falling out the winter of 21/22. I have tried afew things but wasnt very consistent with any of them & therefore didn't really give it enough time to see if i could have any success with them.. main one i tried was speaking with a doctor after sending in a hair sample to their clinic to see if there's obvious nutrient & mineral levels of mine that are out of wack and could be having an effect on my hair & there was some that could've possibly had something to do with it & she also asked if i had covid & i did twice, according to her that can affect hair growth because its an inflammatory virus that effects the thyroid & im told is associated with hair follicles & growth. I'm pretty cautious of blaming it on covid though.. So, i went on a diet they recommended to try for 6-8 months but it fell by the wayside when i ran out of the supplements i ordered from them. Anyways, didn't really notice much of a difference except that i had shed 10-15lbs & looked leaner. Even if covid did have an effect on it im guessing it was merely a trigger & going bald was probably going to happen down the road anyways. Both of my grandpas were bald, my dad is in his lower 60s but isn't bald at all.. oldest brother in his upper thirties or 40s is thin in his crown area but the majority of my family doesn't really suffer from it. Ive pretty well accepted my fate at this point & have turned to getting a transplant. I havent really noticed that im losing a lot of hair anymore but over time it seems that its looking thinner.
I just recently joined this forum to learn as much as i can about it & im planning to head to istanbul late this summer, august or september, to have a FUE + beard HT done by the Dr. Cinik clinic. Does anyone have any experience with him? Seems to have alot of good reviews on google.
My donor area is really strong but the hairline>mid scalp>crown on top is pretty thin...
Afew questions i have are,
  1. Should i be doing anything now to prepare for the transplanted hair? Im allitle worried that ill just lose them again 5 or 10 years down the road.. can i cut things out/add things to my diet that help promote healthy hair growth? Are there certain foods that are commonly known to have a negative effect on a healthy head of hair? Im not very eager to get onto drugs or meds but am open to the idea and want to know what has worked for others.
  2. What is Min & Fin & Propecia? are they topical or oral & which method gives better results? Which is more cost effective? Are there side effects?
  3. How can i protect the transplanted areas port-op? Gonna be a decently long flight home back to the U.S. and would like to get some sleep if possible.. is wearing a decently loose fitting beanie a no-no? I will probably acquire a neck pillow that hopefully holds my head in a straight forward position when i fall asleep.
  4. What should i expect in the days, weeks & months after the HT? Will i definitely go through a shedding phase & if so how many?
  5. Does it hurt?
Feel free to add any info or recommendations. Thanks!
