2023.05.30 23:01 Mostly-Lucid Confused - 1st time play through and just got paragon

My confusion lies with the exp bonus. Playing through the campaign with my wife on coop. I have the Leoric's Crown and no matter what gem I put in it (rubies) my exp bonus is always at 10%. Before I got to paragon it was like 70% or something like that. It does not go up or down if I put the helm on either.
I am not sure I understand experience fully, I am still doing a bunch of reading but thought I would ask here.
Having a blast first time through, been at Master for a bit now. Just hit level 70 during the 5th quest in Act III. Currently at level 12 Paragon I think.

Thanks!

2023.05.30 23:00 Expert_Ad3731 Tilt test tomorrow, dumping my thoughts

Hello everyone! I finally have my tilt test tomorrow (hopefully, bc last time they cancelled it the morning of the test..). I just wanted to dump my thoughts about pots/tilt test/doctors/my story etc somewhere, so I’m just gonna do it here :).
I have been dealing with really bad chronic fatigue and a lot of ‘random’ symptoms for years. A year ago I went to my gp to talk about the fatigue. And that point I hadn’t realised that I was dealing with a lot of different symptoms (those things just felt like normal/separate things bc I didn’t see the connection yet.) Because of that, she didn’t know what it could possibly be, and just did some bloodwork that came back normal.
A few months later I found out what pots is. Suddenly it clicked. I researched it a lot and also looked at me/cfs. I then went back to my gp (a different one, bc that one was available at a convenient moment). I talked about all my symptoms and asked if it could possibly be pots and/or me/cfs. He had no clue what pots was (googled it in front of me) and he didn’t seem to be a fan of the diagnosis me/cfs. He then decided to send me to a internist.
After the test at the internist came back normal (except for high hr on ecg bc I just walked for 5 min), he sent me back to my gp. My gp then agreed to send me to a cardiologist. I had to do several test at the cardiology department, before actually seeing a cardiologist first. When I saw my cardiologist after those tests, he told me there was nothing wrong with my heart. However, they could see the spikes on the holter, and high hr again on the ecg and echo. He then told me I would have to do a tilt test to confirm pots.
My cardiologist does actually know what pots is, and he started to explain it to me (I didn’t wanna tell him that my autistic ass already knew all of that). However, I don’t really feel like he understands what is like having it. (I of course don’t know for sure yet that I have it, but if my tilt test results are positive, which is very likely, then I will get diagnosed.) He told me that you can get old if you have pots, and can be just as happy as any other person. That last thing doesn’t sit right with me, bc honestly, all my medical issues are kinda ruining my life atm.
He also told me that if I have pots, I would have to do very intense physical therapy multiple times a week. That really scares me, and I highly doubt that’s gonna make things better. Especially since I think I might have me/cfs as well. Does anyone have experience with this? I have so little energy that doing something like that once a week would already be a problem, let alone multiple times a week. I also want to be evaluated for mcas and eds, but haven’t brought up those two things yet. However, I am already getting treated for mcas like symptoms.
I’m both excited and scared for my tilt test. This is hopefully gonna be the key to a diagnosis. I’m not necessarily scared for the actual test, but I am afraid they are not gonna perform it correctly, or that my body will act very differently or something. The information paper doesn’t say anything about laying down before being put in a 70 degree angle. My hr is probably gonna be very high when I get there (that happens every time), from the 5 min walk and from stressing about the hospital visit. I’m afraid they won’t let me lay down long enough for my hr to go down, especially bc they don’t mention it. The paper does mention being upright for 20 min, then laying down for 5 min, getting nitroglycerin and then being upright again.
Okay that’s it for now I think. If anyone read this far: thanks for listening, and I have no clue what else you can do with all this information haha. Bye :).

2023.05.30 23:00 A_Friendly_Eagle Some questions about Publix before interview. (Drug tests, shirt tucked policy, etc)

Hey there, I just had a few questions about interviewing at Publix.
Some info before the questions:
  1. I'm asking from Florida.
  2. I am a medical marijuana user. (Prescribed because I have Crohn's Disease)
  3. I have a colostomy bag as a result of my Crohn's.
  4. I am 26 years old and am applying for a part time position, so I would have time to study still.
Questions:
  1. Are there any "ear-catching" words or statements I can drop during the interview that would make the hiring manager be keener on getting me as an employee?
  2. What drugs does Publix test for, and should I bring up my situation with Medical Marijuana during the interview process? (Assuming I would never be using it during working hours, I typically only ever use it around nighttime when I am at home and never bring it out in public)
  3. Since I have a colostomy bag, which I plan on bringing up during the interview, allow me an exception on any form of tucked in shirt policy? (The bag doesn't get in the way of working at all if shirt isn't tucked, but having to have my shirt tucked in would most likely cause quality of life issues).
Thats all the questions I can think of at the moment, any input would be very much appreciated, especially input from any Publix Managers that could tell me how they would respond to some of my questions if they had me in an interview.
Thank you!

2023.05.30 22:59 Extra_Willow_8907 Beefalo Domestication Guide! (Read Description)

Beefalo Domestication Guide! (Read Description)
I’ve seen quite a bit of confusion / misunderstanding when it comes to Domesticating a Beefalo, and though there are videos out there that do a decent job, I wanted to outline it in text format, in hopes that it might help people understand the process behind it! (This guide is specifically for DST, I’m unaware of the differences in other game formats)
First of all, I wanted to state that it’s actually quite simple / easy to domesticate a beefalo, but it can be difficult to understand what is happening, especially considering there are next to no in-game indicators that assist the player.
All this being said, there are so many advantages to domesticating a beefalo early-on:
  • Movement speed: never underestimate the power of moving fast in this game. Time is everything in DST.
  • Damage absorption: a beefalo has 1000 health, and ALL damage (other than ranged sources such as Bishops & MacTusks) is absorbed by the beefalo while on its back
  • Up to 50 damage per attack, if raised to be an ornery beefalo (will go into this later)
Now to get into HOW it’s done!
First of all, pair your beefalo with a beefalo bell. If the bell is in your inventory, the beefalo will follow you anywhere.
There are 4 things (other than health) that you need to account for while domesticating a beefalo:
• Hunger • Obedience • Domestication • Tendency
At the end of the day, what you’re trying to do is get the beefalo’s domestication to 100%. There are 2 ways to get a beefalo’s domestication to rise, instead of fall:
• If you’re riding the beefalo, the domestication level is rising • If the beefalo’s hunger is currently above 0, the domestication level is rising
The prerequisite to being able to ride your beefalo, however, is that it’s Obedience level is above 50%. Above 50%, and you may place a saddle on the beefalo. Any/all food items that you give your beefalo, will raise the beefalo’s Obedience by 10%. Obedience will decay overtime at a relatively slow, but steady rate. It’s also important to note that if your beefalo’s obedience drops below 40%, then it becomes likely that it will shake off its saddle. This deals 20% damage to the saddle (5 times and the saddle will break, forcing you to craft another).
This all boils down to: Feeding your beefalo 6-10 grass or twigs before riding it will ensure that its obedience level is above 50%. While riding it, you are making progress toward domesticating it. If you are NOT planning on riding your beefalo for a period of time, fill its hunger bar just enough so that it stays above 0 as long as you plan to be off-saddle.
Steamed twigs are extremely efficient at filling a good portion of a beefalo’s hunger (4 twigs in a crockpot). Most other food, though potentially providing a lot of hunger, is arguably much-less inefficient at doing the same thing, and unnecessary waste of food when you can use twigs and achieve the same result. It’s important to mention that full-stomach + riding don’t stack in terms of domestication rate. I find that a single steamed twigs allows you all the time you’ll need off your beefalo’s back until you’re riding again.
The other thing you must track, is Tendency:
  • Ornery: Does the most damage (50), has a movement speed of 7, but requires you to feed it one food item each time before riding it
  • Rider: Has a movement speed of 8, but a damage of only 25. Does not require food ever again.
  • Default: Does 34 damage, has a movement speed of 7. Does not require food ever again.
  • Pudgy: Has a movement speed of 6.5, does the least damage (20), but provides a small positive sanity aura while riding
There are arguments to be made for each tendency, however pudgy Beefalo are objectively much more difficult to acquire, with the worst speed AND damage. They’re cute, but not recommended.
Rider can be acquired by, you guessed it, primarily riding your beefalo. This is the easiest tendency to get, and is the fastest. Great for characters who excel at combat already such as Wolfgang or Wanda!
Ornery can be acquired by fighting often atop your beefalo. There are ways to quickly ensure this outcome, such as attacking a Slurtle a couple hundred times. This is widely considered the best option for characters who don’t deal bonus damage, or benefit from the extra safety, such as Wendy, Wes or Maxwell.
The last detail I’ll mention, is that the higher your beefalo’s domestication, the longer you’ll be able to ride it, ranging from about 13 seconds, to about 13 minutes once fully domesticated.
That about sums it up! I highly recommend the Beefalo Status Bar mod, as it allows you to track all of these statistics much more easily:
I hope this helps someone! Happy riding!

2023.05.30 22:58 torpedolife Running conduit for solar?

I ordered solar panels for the hillside behind my house and I am waiting on approval. In the meantime, I am having some concrete replaced in my backyard around where my main panel is and I would like to run some conduit under ground so the solar guys can connect to my panel easily later on.
  1. Does the conduit need to be buried a certain depth?
  2. What type of conduit is necessary for this?
  3. Anything else I should know?

2023.05.30 22:58 qqqrrxxx I'm repeating 11th grade. Should i change my stream from humanities to science?

(No I didn't fail + excuse my English it's ) A little back story. Im currently a 12th humanities student living abroad. I scored 68% in 10th boards and I was weak at math and science (I was good at bio, avg at chem and ass at physics). I initially chose commerce w/o math but my dad did not approve and made me change. According to my dad, commerce w/o math has very less scope and like I said, I'm weak at maths. So he gave me two options- 1. Study science and become a doctor or 2. Study humanities and go for civil services/govt job/teaching profession. Though I was interested in becoming a doctor, I chose the 2nd option and changed from commerce to humanities bcz I wasn't confident in science back then.
My dad never pressured me to take science directly but he would do it indirectly by always comparing me to relatives/close friends that are science students :( . I feel like he is ashamed of me not being good at science. I spent the whole 11th grade scoring well but not being proud of it and not feeling good enough. I started to think maybe he was right, I should have taken science instead. Science does open many gates for you. It wud have been good for me.
Fast forward to now(I'm in the middle of 12th grade), my family is being forced to move back to India due to my dad not being in a good place financially. Apparently schools don't admit new students directly into 12th grade for sum reason. Which means I would have to repeat 11th grade AND THEN get promoted to 12th grade next year. (Meri kismat itni kharab kyu hai😢). Repeating 11th grade means I have another chance to change streams. So I'm thinking should I change my stream maybe? It's good for me in the long run and my parents would be happy too. But I have my own doubts and dilemmas:
• I didn't open any science book since after passing 10th. There will be some difficulties bcz I will be going in the middle of the academic year.10th grade Concepts/formulas are not fresh in my mind • I'm hesitating a lot like maybe I should just continue in humanities, but what if I regret not taking science later in the future? It'd be awful bcz I got another chance to change it yet I didn't take the chance. • I do actually have interest in becoming a doctor(dentistry/ nursing/ physiotherapy) but bcz of my bad (I'm not bad at it but I'm very slow) practical skills at physics/chem I doubt I will manage to get good grades in 11th and 12th grade. Only scoring well in bio is not enough. • And everyone says even scoring average marks is very difficult in science. If I don't score well I likely would not get into a good college. I can't just pass the exams and be done w it. Scoring well is going to be a whole another challenge too. • But again, If I find out that science is not for me I can just change back to humanities na? Shouldn't I atleast try first? Or should I study 11th humanities all over again? • I can go to mostly any field after taking science stream but i cant take humanities now and change to science later. This is what worries me the most. It's a permanent decision. It will seal my fate.
What should I do? Should I change to science? I want to make my dad happy and I also want a better future.

2023.05.30 22:58 randarama The Absolute Tragedy of Natalie's Life

Natalie has been led to believe her whole life that she's only capable of hurting people. She feels responsible for her father's death and the damage it did to her mother. In the wilderness this ability to hurt is reinforced by everyone naming Natalie as their best hunter, and then again when she fails to actually provide everyone with food. She's responsible for Travis mourning his brother's death not once but twice. And then she's placed on a pedestal where she now has to feel responsible for all the other harm done in the Wilderness.
In the future timeline, she's told again and again how she harms people. In rehab, she's been told that violence is never the answer, and it's wrong to harm others. When she's released, Tai makes her feel guilty about her addictions. She also tells Nat not to contact Travis, saying they bring out the worst in each other. Travis, the one person who seemed to actually see the good in her. And then he shows up dead, maybe a day after Nat tried to call him. Whether consciously or not, Nat probably feels his death is her fault, too. She hurts more people like Kevyn by using him and then pushing him away. She does the same to Misty, then Lisa.
Lisa, in many ways, parallels Nat's relationship with Javi. She harms both of them with a knife -- Javi is lost in the Wilderness because she slashed his shorts and pretended he was dead, and she literally does cut Lisa. Despite hurting them, she still manages to mend their relationships. Nat begins to wonder if maybe she isn't an entirely bad person, after all. Then she lets Javi die in her place, and she's back to hurting people. Nat tells Lisa to leave so she isn't killed in the hunt like poor, innocent Javi. She thanks Lisa for trying to teach her forgiveness. Nat says "trying", because she doesn't believe she's worthy of any forgiveness after all the hurt she's done.
And then, despite all the rehab and the struggling and the glimmers of hope that maybe things can be better if she just keeps on trying... Nat is killed by a drug overdose. But in her last moments, she manages to do what the world had convinced her she was incapable of. She sacrifices herself to save someone else.
--
I'm a little late to the party because I only just watched the finale. I know a lot of people hated it, but I absolutely loved how Natalie's (adult) story ended in complete tragedy, even if I am sad that one of my fav characters is dead!

2023.05.30 22:57 yolkofficial Does a parent have the right to keep copies of their child's personal documents (birth certificate/social security card), even if that child is an adult?

Keep it short and sweet, mom's crazy and smothering and a whole slew of other things, and i, 18, was made aware this morning that she will not give me her (legally obtained) copy of my birth certificate because it's sentimental to her. She also has a copy of my social security card. Does she have a right to keep these documents? I don't want her to have the documents because her sentimental reasons for keeping them are dehumanizing and she's delusional and won't listen to my feelings without yelling and crying. I also don't feel comfortable with her having the documents cus it'll be in the back of my mind that she might steal my identity when I move out. I don't see her doing that, but at the same time I can't faithfully trust her not to.
She also has access to a savings account she set up when I was a child, and I was told that I wouldn't be able to break away from that account until I'm 21. I want to withdrawl whatever money is left but I don't know my account number or info, and the idea of asking her is just too much to handle.
Do I need a lawyer? What type would I get? Am I going to be charged a hefty fee for seeking legal help? Having this conversation without a mediator would be mentally damaging to me and make the tension between us worse and her mental state is really fragile and I just want to be in full control of my life and get away.

2023.05.30 22:56 alexspyforever My review of ESC 1957 Germany (Frankfurt)

The second edition of ESC took place in Frankfurt, Germany. Does that mean one of the German songs won in 1956 as the usual tradition is? Well no it was Switzerland who also hosted the first edition but apparently didn't want to host another the next year. To this day rumours persist that Germany got second place probably with "Im Wartesaal zum großen Glück" from Walter Andreas Schwarz but since no ranking was released to this day we can't know for sure. Some even believe Germany won. Anyway the good thing about this contest is that this contest can be fully watched with moving images. The director of this was Michael Kehlmann, an Austrian movie director. I sinceryly hope he was better at camerawork for his movies as it was filmed rather static and with a persistence of keeping the artists heads in close-up for lengthy periods which felt rather disturbing to me. Quality wise the songs were in my opinion a lot weaker than the previous edition with most contestants playing it rather safe and with little variety.
1957 saw the introduction of a real jury system where each country had to divide 10 points over the rivaling countries. So here it was made clear you can't vote for your own country, a rule which probably was not in place in 1956 but as of 1957 it was set in stone and never changed. Don't really know if that meant that 1 country could give the full 10 points to just 1 country. I notice however that only France divided their points over 2 countries while all other countries divided their points over 3 to 6 countries. No one ended up with 0 points and every country got points from at least 2 countries. Strange system but at least better than the shady backroom voting from the previous edition, which certainly was put into question and led to protest. To this day there is still a points system and no matter the result there is always people not understanding why song X ended up so low and song Y so high. Some things never change and this adds to the fun. Apparently the points system was borrowed from UK's 'Festival of British Popular Songs' which decided on the entry representing the UK in the ESC. So a scoreboard was introduced which was adapted after each call (by a traditional phone) from one of the juries of the competing countries.

With the 3 countries broadcasting but not sending a song for various reasons (UK, Austria, Denmark) last year now joining the competition there was no more need for each country to send 2 songs. So 1 song per country (and this remained so for later editions) but 2 people were allowed on stage (in 1956 only solo artists on stage). So more countries involved (10 vs 7 in 1956) but less songs (10 vs 14 in 1956). Last change was a rule stipulating that songs could not exceed 3 minutes but a few countries really went over that limit by quite a margin. Maybe that rule was introduced quite late and therefore no one was disqualified for exceeding it.

We saw a first duet with Denmark. Italy and the Netherlands had a musician accompanying the singer. We also saw a first prop emerging (Germany) and some other costumes than the traditional tuxedo or evening gown (Denmark).

For those wanting more info about this edition check the wikipedia page:

  1. Belgium - Straatdeuntje - Bobbejaan Schoepen (32 years) starts at 3:15
Just like previous edition the ESC kicked off with a song sung in Dutch however this time it comes from the Dutch/Flemmish speaking part of Belgium (Flanders). Bobbejaan Schoepen was the first Flemmish singer to try. Even though his success period was far before my time I knew that whistling was a trademark of his. He even had a song dedicated to whistling 'De jodelende fluiter' (The yodling whistler). Bobbejaan had an obsession with the Far West and often dressed with a cow-boy hat and later founded a theme park with a Wild West theme giving it his name 'Bobbejaanland'. Here of course he was as expected in a suit but with his hands in his pockets immediately giving him a pretty laid back attitude. The song is indeed a happy one about a melody he hears everywhere he goes making him happy. Don't think this had a chance winning, enjoyable definitely but in the end a bit too simplistic.

  1. Luxembourg - Amours mortes aka Tant de peine - Danièle Dupré (29-30 years) starts at 7:25
Language: French - Result: 4th (tied) - Points: 8
Just like last year Luxembourg send a female French singer to represent them. As expected she went for a French chanson about a break up. I'm absolutely no fan of these type of songs unless it has some quicker pace. Also I often compare French chansons with Edith Piaff whose famous hits at least had some recognizable melody and chorus. Danièle's birth date varies from the source. The most common is that she was born in 1927 but other sources say her birth year is 1938 which is a huge difference. Looks to me 1927 is correct as she already had quite a bit of songs as a minor star and retired from the music business in 1958. She would during the show become long lasting friends with her compatriot entering for France Paule Desjardins.

  1. United Kingdom - All - Patricia Bredin (22 years) starts at 10:55
Language: English - Result: 7th - Points: 6
Patricia Bredin had the honour to be the UK's first ESC entry. She won as part of the Malcolm Lockyer Quartet the first Festival of British Popular Songs convincingly. Patricia was in the first place an actress (Malcolm Lockyer was a film composer and conductor so makes sense) but also did musicals. Presenter Anaid Iplicjian (from Armenian descent) referred to the UK as England a few times. With a duration of 1'52 this song remained the shortest in ESC history until 2015 when Finland came with a song of only 1'27. So yeah I can be pretty short about this entry too. She has a high soprano voice so even if your English is good it's just hard to understand what she is singing most of the time. It felt more like an opera song and I guess that's why it didn't do too well here. Was the disappointing result the reason UK didn't enter in 1958 and also didn't organise the Festival of British Popular Songs? However from 1959 they wouldn't miss a single ESC. Patricia's song was never recorded or released on a single.

  1. Italy - Corde della mia chitarra - Nunzio Gallo (28 years) starts at 13:35
Language: Italian - Result: 6th - Points: 7
In previous edition two young females were sent, this time a male artist got a try. Nunzio Gallo was accompanied by a guitar player who gets quite a bit of exposure with some solos (a really long one at the start). Nunzio sings a ballad which gave me much more latino/Spanish vibes than Italian. He sings a love song not for a woman but for his guitar. This theme actually reminds me of the Belgian entry of 2010 Tom Dice with "Me and my guitar". The biggest problem is the song's duration with over 5 minutes going well beyond the maximum time limit. Also its very slow pace makes it very hard to sit through. Fortunately Italy would bring a real hit in the next edition.

  1. Austria - Wohin kleines Pony - Bob Martin (34 years) starts at 19:45
Language: German - Result: 10th - Points: 3
Debut for Austria but Bob Martin wasn't the first Austrian performing in ESC. That honour goes to Freddy Quinn entering in 1956 for Germany with "So geht das jede Nacht". The song is accompanied by jazzy music. Of course a 30+ guy singing about riding his pony through the fields is a tad weird but at least he seems to be having a good time smiling a lot during his performance. It's also the only song which is (slightly) more uptempo than the other entries. A last place is rather harsh but I can understand this song perhaps didn't really fit well in the contest. After ESC he remained popular in southern Austria. His real name was Leo Heppe.

  1. Netherlands - Net als toen - Corry Brokken (24 years) starts at 23:20
Language: Dutch - Result: 1st - Points: 31
The winning song and this time even a critical one like me will find it hard to disagree. If they stuck to the rules this entry would be disqualified as it is going approximately 1 and half minute over the 3 minutes time limit. However it doesn't feel like ever lasting like Italy's due to a good pacing, great vocals and some really good music accompanying the song. Dutch conductor Dolf van der Linden was so eager to start making the orchestra start before Corry Brokken reached the microphone. Corry's previous entry was a break up song now it's again about a relationship but one that is already lasting a very long time. So yes the couple especially the man have become old (and grey) and their love has become a bit stale. But since he can still flirt (with other women I suppose) his wife wishes he would be sweet and gallant towards her, give her roses, say she is beautiful and all that jazz just like the time they first fell in love (referring to the song's title). Yes it's kinda weird given the young age of Corry and it's rather schmulzy. Also the style is a bit the same as her 1956 song "Voorgoed voorbij". However her vocals and the accompanying music really make up for that. About halfway a violin joins her on stage who also gets a solo towards the end. I'm not surprised this won quite convincingly and deservedly.

  1. Germany - Telefon, Telefon - Margot Hielscher (37 years) starts at 28:30
Language: German - Result: 4th (tied) - Points: 8
Host Germany did the opoosite of Italy after sending 2 men in 1956, now a woman was selected. Margot Hielscher already tried her luck at the German National final in 1956 but was unsuccessful. In 1957 she won and became the first woman to represent Germany at ESC. She was the first artist to use a prop on stage. What was more applicable than a telephone since that was the instrument for many years to come for the juries of the participating countries to send their points. Margot used the phone for another purpose though, expecting a call from her lover. Between talking in several languages (mostly saying hello) she sings in a calm and soft voice. The song in itself is not that special but the phone as gimmick is cool. Her song was also too long almost like 4 minutes. Placing 4th wasn't too bad and we would see her return the next year with a more uptempo song (and another prop). For the German audience she was no unknown being active since the 1940s as both singer and actress.

  1. France - La belle amour - Paule Desjardins (34-35 years) starts at 33:40
Language: French - Result: 2nd - Points: 17
A song about love in a French café. I liked this one more than the French song from Luxembourg. It came second and I don't think that is undeserved given she has a lovely voice even though the song in itself quickly fades from my memory. Paule had moderate success with a musical career lasting until 1962. When she married she stopped singing and started working as designer for the lingerie company of her husband. Her full birth date is unknown, Spanish wiki mentioned she was born in 1922.

  1. Denmark - Skibet skal sejle i nat - Birthe Wilke (20 years) and Gustav Winckler (31 years) starts at 38:00
Language: Danish - Result: 3rd - Points: 10
Denmark made its debut bringing the ESC its first duet. They were actually the only contestants in the first Dansk Melodi Grand Prix where 6 songs were entered 2 by them as duet and 2 by each as solo artists. As native Dutch/Flemmish speaker I can clearly hear it's from the same language family (German) as mine even though I hardly understand a word of it. I like the sound of it though and while it's nice that the presenter tells us that the translation of the song is "when the ship is sailing out" looking at the man's uniform it's pretty clear he is a sailor saying goodbye to his beloved girlfriend and future wife who is also wearing a typical dress from the country. There is also some gestures like him kissing a picture of her indicating he will be thinking about her on his trip and putting a ring on her finger meaning they will marry when he comes back. Actually the sailing theme is already clear before we see the couple as the orchestra starts with the sound of a ship's horn. It's all lovey dovey and cute but it works and they sing in harmony, complementary. A top 3 placing was well deserved in my opinion. Oh yes and there was in the end an 11 second kiss which definitely shocked the audience. They were applauded anyway. Did that hamper their chances to win, nah I think the Dutch entry was just too strong.

  1. Switzerland - L'Enfant que j'étais - Lys Assia (33 years) starts at 42: 30
Language: French - Result: 8th (tied) - Points: 5
Lys Assia returned to defend the ESC crown of Switzerland. The new crown however went to the other returning performer from 1956 Corry Brokken. Interesting to note that her birthday was the 3rd of March, the same day as the the contest of 1957 took place. I can't think of any other reason why the ESC took place so early (usually it's in May). She wasn't however gifted a good end result finishing a tied 8th with Belgium. Hard to understand as I found this song about a happy childhood very sweet and more captivating than her entries from 1956. However it was also too long about 4 minutes. But vocally I found her a lot better than the French songs from Luxembourg and France. Was it perhaps too childish or too happy? Notice that the other 2 songs in the bottom 3 were Belgium and Austria both upbeat songs. However Lys would still come back for a third consecutive time in 1958 just like winner Corry Brokken. Lys would do well a year later but Corry suffered even a worse fate as title defender than Lys.

My top 10 was a bit harder to compile except the top 2 which stuck with me after 1 hearing. The rest is not too memorable for me.

  1. Netherlands
  2. Denmark
  3. Switzerland
  4. Germany
  5. Austria
  6. Belgium
  7. France
  8. Luxembourg
  9. Italy
  10. UK

2023.05.30 22:56 DearMrUnknown Court Trial Session

You can skip to the second paragraph if you want to skip the background. So, I have in just under 2 weeks a session that will be a court trial in the western times. It is a pretty big deal for the party. One player is only involved with the party specifically because the campaign started with the trial getting into the works. His background is he is a new and upcoming lawyer, another player is a deserter in a military like position, and the last player is the marshal who has been escorting the desert to the town holding the trial. They as characters have done a lot of rescuing and town saving on their journey to the courthouse and more importantly they're making common enemies and getting along. But the trial itself has been getting very hyped and the campaign pretty much started because of it. The idea for a defense is the deserter quit soldiering to become a town doctor (only doctor in a 3 town radius) and fought to defend said towns from bandits and therefore has been doing good to the community and is a neccessary amd irreplaceable member of the community therefore he has been honoring his roll as a servant to the public and should be void of punishment.
So I'm not sure how I want to handle this trial mechanically. I want a lot of participation but I don't want it to be scripted and I'm certainly not someone who understands the court of law well. I've seen some movies. So far what I've thought of is to give everyone some HP that acts as credibility. So they could accidentally admit to some crimes or if they say something while on the stand that aids the prosecutor then they take some damage and when they hit zero they're pretty much out of the fight. The jury won't listen to them anymore. And the main big important thing is each lawyer will also have HP that'll be the trial at large. And the 'attack rolls' will be largely based off of charisma based checks that can be given positive or negative modifiers based on that the player says. That way the barbarian (marshal) for example could fumble the roll a bit but tell his low intelligence and low charisma war story of the deserter saving two women from a burning hotel while getting shot at and with the good words gained say... a +3 to the roll and saving the situation. I'd handle something like that with a 3 step of kinda good, good, and great measurement, just one of the possible ideas to help involve everyone. The last thing is that I'd get 4 or 5 pieces of attack points that'll be used against the deserter in the trial and make each point a round of combat and then give each lawyer 5 or 6 actions to call witnesses and present evidence and stuff and then as they get trump cards and whatnot they could turn those into bonus actions or reactions so it is a little bit more fun and less... boring law stuff that can allow the whole party to feel equally involved and allow everyone to help. So by the end of it all the winner is who has the most HP. Naturally the party will only know their own side, but the jury will side with whichever lawyer ended up having the highest HP. What do you think? I don't want this to be tooooo complicated but this will be a whole session I'm pretty sure and a lot has been leading up to this. It is pretty much the first boss fight of the campaign.

Does anyone have any opinions on what gap wedge would pair best with my sand and lob wedges? Does an S grind even make sense in a gap wedge?

2023.05.30 22:56 tolololololokoko Feeling Confused about Colleague

I'm aware of the risks about pursuing something with a colleague; I'd like support in understanding my situation because it's making me crazy.
Last March I (33F) met a married colleague (37M) who works into another department. I did not know he was married until August of last year and attempted to avoid him because I didnt want to connect with a married man. He began finding more reasons for us to connect. So much has happened since and here are some highlights
• Despite setting up meetings for work related things, he would always change the conversation to be more personal. Our convos have become longer and flirtier.
• He has asked me to workout with him a few times. I haven't said yes yet.
• We began spending a lot of time together (he'd video call me randomly; stay at work longer to spend time with me) and then he would stop talking to me. He wouldn't even respond to my work questions. This has now become a pattern (being hot and cold towards me). The longest we go without talking is typically 3 weeks.
• Over the last few months people have commented on our dynamics. When we're in work meetings we always sit across from each other and give each other looks on inside jokes. One of my colleague said 'it's like watching 2 school children have crushes on each other'
• When he knew that I was going on dates with someone, he asked 'is he playful with you?'
• Everytime I talk about what I want in a relationship, he will highlight how he is that way with his wife
• He likes to tell me how awesome I am and how easy I am to talk to
We've never exchanged phone numbers and I've never added him on any social media (he alluded to adding me on instagram). I haven't said yes to working out with him either because my feelings already feel so strong...I don't want them to intensify. I'm not sure what he wants from me! Am I just a fun work thing? Does he have a crush on me? Why is he so hot and cold? Why does he give me a small present and then avoid me for weeks? I'm just so confused about what's happening between us.
I do like him and sometimes wonder if he wants an affair with me. Not sure how I'd respond but I'd be lying if I said I haven't fantasized about it.

2023.05.30 22:56 Angi_kitti How much do you pay for a hair cut?

I got a my whole hair dyed recently ( full head of colour) and a haircut for £165, it would have been £205 if I didn’t get a discount (they had offers on for going at certain times). This to me is astronomical and eye watering to pay this much, I don’t remember it being this expensive just before Covid.
Just curious to see how much you pay to get your hair done and what do you usually get done at the hairdressers?

2023.05.30 22:56 Rolling_Thinker Death bed

My parent is dying of cancer, it’s the last one I have and I’m relatively young to have no parents. The sad part is I keep forgetting he’s dying, and I go about my life until i’m reminded again of this bitter situation. I don’t want to treat him like a ghost, knowing that what I’m doing with my father is going to be a memory, but I also don’t want to ignore it and do my own thing. He’s only got three years left at best but for some reason reality hasn’t hit me yet, and I fear when it does hit me it’ll be too late. I’m afraid of what I’ll do when it happens if i am caught off guard, I suffer from bipolar disorder and my thoughts can be erratic to say the least, this could mean I kill myself after he dies.
I don’t want to live in a fearful state but I don’t want to be oblivious either…

2023.05.30 22:56 not_so_great_dev Permission Issues with Azure Managed Identity and Dynamics 365 CRM (C#)

Language: C# .NET6
Dynamics: 356 CRM (Cloud) Integration2023 release wave 1 enabled
Azure Function (Timer)
RequestType: HttpClientFactory (Http Client)
Authentication: MSAL (Managed Identity)
**Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so if I posted incorrectly, just let me know where I should go!
Currently using Dynamics 365 CRM (Cloud Based) and Azure Functions to integrate with CRM-Sharepoint (Document and Document libraries). The azure function is using managed identities and has full system admin privileges. The auth method is the DefaultAzureCredential(). Note the same pattern does work with many other applications we have (managed identities and http client factory), so the code itself doesn't appear to be an issue. The code also works locally.
When run locally (Visual Studio), I am able to run the integration fine (query a case and the document location/documents, as well as upload a document to the case). However, when the function is run in azure, the token receives a Http 400 bad request with the following message:
{ "error": { "code": "0x80040216", "message": "At least 1 Claim must not be NULL, current claims are : nameid=;nii=urn:federation:microsoftonline " } }
If I take that same request and paste it in postman using a token generated from my Visual Studio managed identity, it works successfully. I feel like the bad request is more like a perms/claims issue than an actual bad request that we would normally see using the web service.
I am unsure of what permission I am missing (either in Sharepoint, CRM, or Azure). I have tried a using an existing sharepoint integration app reg and it also got the same error when using the azure function identity token.
If anyone has any insight or ideas about what could be missing, that would be great.
  1. Tried using managed identity for the azure function (failed)
  2. Tried using Visual Studio identity for function (successful)
  3. Tried using working azure app registration utilized for different sharepoint in azure (failed)
  4. Attempted to use my azure ad account. Failed because it is MFA.

2023.05.30 22:55 oneandenough S4P1: Anna’s Behavior

Anna’s role in Eden’s kidnapping was greatly downplayed. Before finding out that she was housing Angelina and Eden, I noticed that her body language was off, especially the way she hesitated when Ben asked whether she could feel the wind. If you rewatch episodes 1 and 2 knowing what Anna did, her body language, word choice, etc. become laughable. She tells Gabriel that what happened to his aunt was a tragedy, tells Ben that she will pray for Eden, acts surprised when Ben suggests Eden is alive, and more. Knowing that every word is a lie makes me livid. I wish Anna had gone into detail about what Angelina told her. Harboring a fugitive who killed a woman then kidnapped her baby because she told you “awful things” about the baby’s family does not cut it.
When Ben and Zeke go to Anna’s house because of a tip Aaron (the podcaster) received, she continues to lie to Ben. I am glad that Zeke was there to sense her dishonesty. She then says that after spending time with Ben, she realized he was not the man Angelina had said he was. She was up all night debating whether to call him. Anna, if you no longer believed Angelina’s story, why did you hesitate to call Ben or the police? How was sending Angelina on her way enough to right your wrongs? More importantly, how did doing so help Eden, an innocent child who had no say in any of this? You did not want to get into trouble? Well, that is too bad. This is not about you. This is about a child who has been ripped away from her family.
Ben calls Anna over to comfort Eden, a decision which made sense I suppose, but still shocked me. As she is leaving, she says, “I hate what 828 has done to us.” Anna, take some responsibility for your actions. You made the conscious decision to house Angelina and Eden then let them run off together. The way Anna played victim once Ben found out the truth got on my nerves. Feel free to rewatch episodes 1 and 2 to marvel at the way Anna had the audacity to say certain things as if she did not know exactly where Eden was. Additionally, I found it interesting how she essentially walked into her death. Who opens their front door the second they suspect danger, especially at night? Her face almost gave the impression that she knew her time had come. Did anyone else feel this way? Perhaps she thought she deserved to die for what she had done, which is not true.
For Eden’s sake, I was glad that Adrian had a Calling that led him to Angelina’s new location, allowing him to rescue them. Who knows what that woman had in store. Was following this Calling supposed to be another chance for Adrian to do the right thing (call Ben or the police)? If so, he certainly missed the mark. People were rotating Angelina and Eden around town as if they were not aware of what Angelina had done. Congrats, Angelina. You have mastered the art of deception.
