2023.06.08 00:02 pitofcarkoon My grandfather is dying from an injury that I caused.
Last year I got married. It was important to me that my grandparents attend as they were some of the few relatives I had that were supportive and kind to my wife. When I invited my grandparents, my nana apologized and said they wouldn’t be able to make it because of my grandfather’s diabetes and mobility issues. I assured her that we had made the venue accessible and had a driver and a golf cart arranged to get the elderly around. My nana still declined. Then, like a total asshole I reached out to my aunt who I know has sway over my grandparents. She called my nana and within minutes she had changed her mind and they agreed to come. The thing is, I at the time thought that my grandpa’s mobility was an excuse not to come because my nana tends to be kind of socially anxious and doesn’t care for other members of my family.
Well they come to the wedding and all our accommodations worked, they were picked up and returned to their hotel, my grandpa didn’t have to walk anywhere at the venue and was chauffeured around. But that night my grandpa fell in his hotel room. It was a new environment and I imagine it made falling easy.
That happened back in September. I recently found out that the wound on his foot never healed as his diabetes is pretty bad and he’s in his late 70’s. The doctors ended up taking his toes but that didn’t heal either. They said taking the whole leg is the only option which he declined. He is now is hospice and I’m going to see him next week. I’m afraid to see them. My guilt is overwhelming and all consuming.
It’s true that grandpa has neglected his health a long time, drinking and other things. It’s true that he was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam and it’s also true that he is choosing hospice over amputation but I can’t shake the immense guilt that my selfish desire to have him at my wedding trumped my nana’s valid insistence that they couldn’t make the trip. I’m terrified that I will live with this guilt forever as well as associate it with what was otherwise the greatest day of my life. I don’t feel like bringing it up or apologizing is the right move because I don’t want to make the last hours I have with him to be about me, seeking absolution for something I never should have done. I’ve only called him once since this happened because I feel so ashamed I’m at a loss for words.

2023.06.07 22:28 Altruistic_Echo_326 Razionalizzazione situazione finanziaria
Salve a tutti,
O meglio guardare altrove? Tipo ETF e affini.
Grazie in anticipo!
P.s.

2023.06.07 21:51 sean8917 Should I buy the Lenovo for $749.99, the Nitro for $663.99 open box or the ROG for $863.99 open box? Need some input please.
2023.06.07 21:37 TigerMaskVI Anyone have experience opening and/or operating a seasonal driving range?
I live in a resort town in northern Michigan that is a golf destination for lots of people with a large variety of public and private courses, but not a single driving range. The closest range is over an hour away and I've been kicking around the idea of opening one but haven't done much research yet.
Given the long winters up here, the range would likely operate from the end of May through the end of October and I'm wondering if I can make enough in those 5-6 months to make the payments on the land during the winter when there is nothing coming in. I have a full time career that pays enough where I could still make the payments during the offseason if I'm not generating enough from the business itself but obviously I would prefer the business be self sufficient if possible.
I can get
8 acres of cleared land for about $65k and I'm ballparking that I could get the actual structure to hit from built for about $60k. Beyond that the only major start-up expenses I can think of are for landscaping equipment, the ball retrieval cart, practice/refurbished balls, and the ball dispensing machines... this is all just back of the envelope math but it seems like I could get the whole thing going with a $150k loan... am I way off base here or is this potentially a good idea?
Another thought is to put some of my own money into it too so as to lower the amount I need a loan for, and/or to do a shorter term loan so I'm free and clear on it sooner. Either way the idea is for the business to be a long-term thing that eventually goes to my son if he wants it so owing the bank for 10-15 years isn't the end of the world. Real estate/property is also my favorite investment by a mile so even just building equity in those 8 acres while the business on it breaks even is theoretically fine.
Anyway, if anyone has any experiences or resources to share I would really appreciate it.
Edit: another major expense I just thought of is the parking lot.

2023.06.07 21:08 meekoshcoo Ultra Ball Haul Distance Limit?
| As far as I can tell, ~1050m seems to be the UBH limit. For most of my attempts I was getting about 900-1000m by going straight into the korok cave, but this time I turned right at the bend in the course (where there's an electric wizzrobe). With a few seconds left on the clock, the game stopped me with the message "you can't leave this area right now." Has anyone found a workaround for this? Big shoutout to u/ling-I over at HyruleEngineering -- I was inspired by their triple cannon-propelled vehicle. For this iteration I used stabilizers, rockets, fewer carts, and the golf ball of course. (Incidentally, this last is an essential counterweight to the back-heavy propulsion system. The vehicle just does front flips if you try to use it sans ball...) submitted by meekoshcoo to TOTK [link] [comments] |

2023.06.07 19:33 coffeecatcatcat Need advice for visiting Dodger Stadium with a leg injury
Does anyone have experience going to the game while injured? I don't have a handicap placard or a wheelchair but walking from the parking lot to my seat is not going to be an option. I don't want to sell my tickets either. I know they have golf carts that can take you from your car to the gates but I don't know how to get that service. And then once I'm in the gates, do they have any wheelchairs where the person I'm going to the game with could wheel me to our section? It's not that I can't walk or stand at all but I am supposed to be non weight bearing as much as possible.

2023.06.07 19:32 Afraid-Page-4191 Best carts/brands in MO/St Louis
Hi! I'm taking a vacation to St Louis (I'm from CA) and I'm curious to know what people consider the best carts! Looking on weedmaps I didn't see any Raw Garden, but I did see Select carts which I like. I'll be in St. Louis, so any shop recommendations would be awesome! Since I'm out of state I am recreational though.
Also, I will have access to a car, is it better to shop in MO or to cross to IL , price and quality wise?

2023.06.07 19:26 pepe_____- Auto sportiva sui 15k

2023.06.07 17:14 makromark How do you guys afford this sport? It costs so much money from what you say and seems way busier than I would ever like it
I can’t believe you guys enjoy this.
I golfed with my wife last week at a decent course, for $45 for the 2 of us. I’ve never paid more than $50/pp. How are you guys able to spend $100+ per round?!
In addition, I was reading about golf carts and courses “running out”. Courses I play at always have a plethora of carts. Usually there are less than 10 carts in the parking lot.
I played a scramble Saturday that took 5.5 hours. I couldn’t imagine always having that. My rounds with my wife take 3.5 hours. If I’m solo I can get 18 holes done in under 2 hours. How do you guys stay sane with it taking so long?!
I posted awhile ago about being forced to pair up, and the response was “that’s the norm”. I’ve since golfed 7 other courses in my area (within a 30 minute drive) and no other course does this, as they aren’t ever busy.
TL;DR How are you guys regularly able to afford $100/week?
How do you guys stay sane with a course that’s packed?
I would never golf if it was as expensive as you guys say, coupled with long rounds.
Edit: To be clear the “$100 per week” I thought most of you only golfed once per week.
Also seems most people don’t pay that much and are paying low rates like me. Thanks for clearing up that $100+/round is the norm.

2023.06.07 17:01 caveman55454 LED lights
I just bought some LED light for a golf cart. They are 18watt 9-36volt lights. Can I hook them up straight to a 12 volt battery that would be separate from golf cart or do I need a resistor? The videos online are confusing about this subject.
