Looking for N VA cognitive/memory OT testing recommendations
2023.03.20 23:31 singing-toaster Looking for N VA cognitive/memory OT testing recommendations
Looking for a testing dr or place to assess my cognitive skills. I feel like my memory and learning ability have lessened. And want to be tested to have a baseline or some occupational therapy to help improve/work around vision and memory or learning issues.
Recommendations for N VA / DC/MD? I’m happy to travel farther if needed but would be good to have closer to home.

2023.03.20 23:21 Commercial-Mix-2633 Who wants to see Emma Fuhrmann in a DCU project so badly? And what role do you think she good’s fit?

2023.03.20 22:51 psychedelicscience The 5 Month Flare
Its been a tough season. I started dataing someone new, and a reaction to her cat, and the dander which was on most of her belongings sent me into a spiral of itchiness worse than I ever imagined. I tried a lot, but I want to share the regiment that got me to where I am today, which is practically eczema free. Its funny to reach a point where I feel like I can have a "normal" itch that is not associated with a Rash. Everyone will find different solutions, but I want to share what worked for me.
Useful concepts- "The Itch that Rashes" - I found this phrase on a dermatology site discussing eczema. It really drove the concept home that if I can somehow stop scratching, the rash will go away. Easier said than done, but even replacing scratching with gently rubbing or pressure reduces the amount of damage i do with my nails when scratching. Also keeping nails very short and fingers very clean helps a lot. It is everything to break the cycle.
Washing - morning and bed time. cool water baths and short cool showers. If the water is warm enough to feel good, it was too hot to prevent skin damage Honestly, I stopped using soap on my body unless I was actually dirty. just rinsing off the sweat and shampooing my hair has been good enough and I've had not complaints of smell. If I do something gross I'll use a little mild soap and be very gentle. . When getting out, only pat dry, not rub. rubbing is too similar to scratching and feeds the cycle.
food- I cut out red meat and dairy entirely. I've been lactose intolerant for years, but thought lactase enzyme supplementation would make dairy okay. after having some upset stomach after using lactase to eat a quesadilla and having worse itchiness, I committed to cutting it out entirely and it has helped a lot.
Lotions- IMMEDIATELY after patting dry from a wash. I use triamcinolone on problem spots, then a layer of Cetaphil cream everywhere, then a layer of Bag Balm Everywhere. Bag balm is a game changer. Vanicream under cerave ointment is a pretty good combo too.
Steroids- used oral prednisone for 3-5 days twice. it really is worth using during intense flare. calms shit down fast, but has serious side effects so it is best avoided when possible. Used a shit ton of triamcinalone cream- see if your doc can order you a literal tub of whatever steroid cream you are using.
Other Drugs- was taking zyrtec and allegra everyday, sometimes twice.
Supplements- N-Acetyl Cysteine and vitamin C twice per day. I started using the NAC because I read about its use in psychiatric skin-picking diseases and thought it might provide some cross over relief. I think it helped. Also I take a multivitamin most days, and sometimes a little extra magnesium or zinc.
Spiritual- I did some deep spiritual work on a meditation retreat and was able to conquer some demons and clear some deep karma. I think this helped a lot.
Lifestyle- Girlfriend agreed to re-home her cat. She did a ton of deep cleaning at her apartment and car. We mostly hang out at my house where I have multiple airfilters and humidifier. I spent a couple days at a spa with lots of healing baths and saunas, which really helped as well. I use Dr. Bronner's brand Sal's Suds as my laundry detergent and use no dryer sheets. clean house frequently and deeply.
docs- went to an allergist and started taking allergy desensitization shots. The dermatologist I saw was pretty rude.
Happy to help any questions I can. I hope this post doesn't jinx the progress Ive made!

2023.03.20 22:44 WillDrens My life radically changed because of one coin flip
This is the first time I've admitted this in several years, but, I guess I just don't know how to process that the last 3+ years could've been radically different had one coin flip gone the wrong way.
I grew up in equal joint custody, with an n-mom mother and a father who I was expected to treat like a martyr. I disassociated for a large part of my childhood, and still I occasionally break down and cry and ask god why the fuck he put me through all that. In any case, I left for college, and started to develop healthy relationships, with both myself and the rest of the world.
And winter break my sophomore year broke me. My grandfather had a health scare, my mother was being a narcissist about it (though I didn't see it that way), and I was tired. January 4th I spent the last dinner with my stepsister on my phone. Then I got yelled at to high heaven that night, and was told by my dad to leave. I didn't feel I could safely get to my car, so I set my alarm for extremely early the next morning, and slept for maybe three hours, packed my car right as the sun rose, and had a choice.
I could either leave, or wait for my dad to wake up. And I remember being terrified, of seeing him, of him coming down the steps and asking me why I was still there. I remember seeing that image clear as day, and I remember thinking that that might break me. But I didn't want to just leave. So I left it up to a coin flip, and the coin flip told me to wait, and so I did.
I was supposed to go shopping with my mom to spend some of the gift cards I had gotten for Christmas. I decided to flake on her, and spend the day with my dad, trying to mend shit before I was supposed to go back to her house on January 6th.
January 6th I left for her house around noon. She then proceeded to yell at me for thirty minutes, eventually telling me to leave. I could get to my car at that point, so I left. And I wish I could say that I saw through her bullshit, that I knew that she was in the wrong, but frankly, I was tired. I didn't care anymore. After a couple of months, I finally bit the bullet, and went no contact with her entirely.
And the life I have now, where I'm mentally, spiritually, emotionally healthier, all of that was due to a coin flip. Had it gone differently, I might've no-contact with my dad. Probably would have.
I don't know it's just kind of batshit.
TL;DR:
When I was ~20, I flipped a coin to determine whether to stay or leave after a nasty fight with my dad. Ended up staying, which led to me going no-contact with my mother, when if it had landed the other way the situation probably would've been flipped.

2023.03.20 22:40 Tiny-Taro1562 Should i try reconciliating with my ex or should i just move on?
Basically me(18m) and my ex who i will be calling "A.N" (18f) were together for about 7 months and we broke up at the end of february, it was a mutual since we understood that it would not work out at that specific moment for a long list of reasons and we tried to be ok with it.
Some weeks later by talking to her best friend which i will call "I.S" i found out she "cheated on me", she didn't actually do it but i discovered that some days after our breakup she was already talking to her friend about other guy that she "liked" (they have been in a long distance relationship before, we live in the southernmost part of the country and this guy lives more than 4500 kilometers far from us, so my ex knows they will never be in an actual relationship and she explained to me that she just gets back with him as a way to cope with the fact that she will never have an actual relationship to work with anyone because of her stric family and her traumas, that they will never work out and both know it, it's almost like they use eachother as a distraction).
My ex found out about these texts because she and her best friend have each other's instagram accounts on their phones, so one day i was talking to her and she just told me that she knew what we were talking about and that i knew what she was doing, she then told me that she tried to use that as a way to cope with the breakup, and that she didn't told me the truth because she didn't want to hurt me and that she was so bad that she couldn't stop crying and even thought of killing herself when she discovered i knew all that because she couldn't deal with the guilt, i told her i forgave her because i didn't want to feel any resentment towards her because i kind of understood why she did that, but that my forgiveness didn't absent her from the fault she had, she agreed with me and said that the best she could do is distance herself from our friend group, then she proceeded to unfollow all of us in social media, leave all of our group chats and completely avoid us at school.
We are a 4 friends group, consisting of me, my ex, I.S and her boyfriend who is my best friend which i will call S.A, for the first days after what happened A.N just avoided us completely, which of course affected the friendship of the whole group, while i was still friends with both I.S and S.A, they were the ones who helped me go through all of the breakup giving me advice and stuff like that. Some weeks passed, and to summarize, A.N is friends with us again, we put her back on our group chats, we talk to her everyday at school and i followed her on insta again but she didn't follow back, but we have long friendly conversations from time to time.
Last friday we only had two classes at school so we left very earlier and had the entire morning and afternoon free, so came to my house, I.S and S.A left us alone in my room on purpose to see if something would happen between us and to be honest i thought it would be pretty awkward but it wasn't, we sit together in my bed and watched videos on her phone together, i wrapped my arm around her thinking she would try to avoid it but no, she accepted it and i laid my head on her shoulder for a long time until I.S and S.A were back and we all sat on the bed to watch a movie.
The point here is, in person it seems like everything is ok, A.N laughs at my jokes, smiles a lot to me, offers to buy me stuff, i caught her looking at me in class multiple times, the thing that happened in my bed is an example, we were basically cuddling and that's not a thing friends do without some intention behind, and this kinda confuses me, she doesn't seem interested in getting back together but neither does she refuses my advances. I ocasionally have conversations with S.A about it and i told him that i think we could get back together eventually but it would take some months of rebonding because it's been at least two weeks since everything happened and both of us are dealing with it in our way, but i do not discard the possibility, i also told him i could just be deceiving myself into believing all of that, he didn't deny both of the possibilities so i wanted a third opinion on this matter.
Should i keep being friends with her, give her time, and maybe in the future try to see if we can get back together, or should i cut some contact with her for both of us to move on? The second possibility is good for me but i'm not sure if it would work, we see eachother literally everyday and i'm afraid that cutting some contact would just make stuff awkward and leave us both in a bad situation since we are friendly again.
TL;DR: Me and ex mutually broke up but are friends again and see eachother everyday at school and our friends group also makes it impossible for us to be separate, breakup is recent so it's not best time to try anything again, should i wait some months before trying to reconciliate or should i just try to forget that and move on?

2023.03.20 22:33 ArtisticRaise1120 People who found healthier ways to deal with their ADHD partners - can you share?
TL;DR: I need to hear positive experiences of people who managed to find healthy and effective ways to deal with their ADHD partners.
Hello yall. Sorry for any mistypes or errors, English is not my native language.
My wife (37f n dx) and I (33m nt) have been together for 8 years and we have a son (2m). She has always behaved like yall probably know and for all our history together we have been fighting. She has always blamed her behaviours on something – her grief for her best friend’s death, then her mother’s cancer, then X Y and Z. I have always called her out and said she should bear responsibility for her actions, and for many reasons that y’all may know – guilt, the cycle of abusive relationships (she improves, then goes back to her old self) etc – I didn’t leave the relationship and chose to believe in her intentions and prospects of improvement, married her and had a son with her.
Recently she said she has found out she has ADHD and shared it with a psychiatrist, who said would treat her depression first before dwelving into the ADHD. I, a medical doctor myself, refused to focus on the diagnosis at first, I said that no matter what her inner tendencies are and if she believes she fits in the diagnosis or not, she doesn’t need to have it define her, and she can always move in the spectrum and choose to develop strategies to help her and I am more than willing to help because I myself have my own issues and put on strategies to cope with them. I said she needs to make the active choice of stopping scrolling social media endlessly and really put some limits on her cell phone usage, develop better sleep habits, exercise, accept me when I call her out for her behaviours.. then, after all that, we can discuss ADHD. Well, as you may know, as it happens when we deal with them, it fell into deaf ears. The self-diagnosis of ADHD was used as a card to excuse her behaviours and not an eye opening tool for self improvement.
Yesterday we completed another of those repetitive cycles of war in the house – she improves after the war – I give us another chance and open myself emotionally to her again - she gets too comfortable – she returns to her old ADHD self – I try to call her out, be gentle, communicate to her how I am feeling multiple times, and she doesn’t listen and doesn’t move an inch – I grow resentment and end up having bad behaviours myself, like scolding her, being rude to her, saying things in a harsh tone – she picks up one of these behaviours and fights it and makes it seem like I am a monster – we have a war.
I am getting to a point there the resentment is so strong and my emotions are so high and she is so interruptive and changes the focus so much to herself and refuses to much to let me express my feelings and hijacks the conversation so much that I am hitting myself during these wars. I am punching my own face so I can relieve this tension without hurting her or anything. I am typing this with tears in my eyes and embarrassment.
I arrived at this sub yesterday and it has really been eye opening. I can relate to many of the posts I have read here, and as much as it has been eye opening, it has been frightening because the takeaway from all I read is that the solution is leaving, and I am still in a state of denial. She is who she is, I am the one who chose to ignore her behaviors and stay, and I cant make my son, her and everyone pay for that bad choice, and I value my commitment strongly, stubbornly.. But I cant grow so much resentment like this.
Please, can anyone share positive experiences, what can I do to have a healthier relationship with her, considering worst case scenario of her not changing anything at all? I know I didnt give much details to help on the answer, but would love to hear from people who found their own solutions.

2023.03.20 22:30 Forward_Translator79 I spent 290$ CDN in total for 2 24pack cases of prime energy. *The school kids in my neighborhood can’t afford prime for 10$ a bottle so i buy a lot of them and give it to them for 2 dollars each, that way i can get a lil money back so i can keep doing this, and they can finally afford prime.*
2023.03.20 22:28 qaqwer [RoR2] Does anyone else get the feeling that red items aren't nearly as good as we imagine them to be?
Warning: Opinions are present, proceed with caution
TL;DR: Although the feeling of getting a red item is often great, because of their rarity and generally being interesting items, it's really kind of unusually rare that it will actually end up helping out your run at all. I know the gut reaction to the title, it just sounds wrong, every time a red item drops I'm willing to bet that all of us get a bit of a dopamine hit, but how often do you just end up being let down?
Even the items that used to feel amazing and like my run was instantly won, now lead to my run being very much loseable despite me still being hyped whenever I see them drop.
I'm not saying that the red items changed in any sort of way honestly, it's purely that I've gotten better at the game, and therefore I'm more likely to play monsoon/eclipse, and I don't enjoy just looping 50 times for the hell of it anymore. Yes in edge/silly cases, they can end up popping off super hard, and feel amazing, but it feels like that rarely ever comes up unless the run is already going nuts.
I get that this is partly intentional design, and leads to the skill-based nature of ror2 gameplay loop, but we'd be lying if we were to say that those rng high rolls weren't a key part of any roguelike's appeal (yes, obviously they still happen in a different way, more that it's unusual reds don't really end up being a major influence when they appear).
Obviously, ror2 has its own really neat way of treating item rarities where white items are the foundation of your build and where you get most of your stats and power, with green items then being the means through which you translate the power of your white items into an exponentially better build, with reds at the wildcard which can steer your build into performing amazingly in one area. However, it feels more like in practice they're the sprinkles on top of your build. Like, they're nice to have, but rarely make much of a difference as to whether your build is good or bad.
In comparison, greens seem to be forced into their role such that they "seem" on average weaker than reds because so many of them are just scrap fodder that waters down the roster (stealthkit, polyp, lepton, harpoon, leeching seed to name a few) which are rarely of any use unless you have a super specific situation. If you look at all the items that don't fall into this category, you'll see that practically all of them are extremely strong, flexible, potentially run-changing items (wotw, bands, atg, uke, feather, shuriken) which I would honestly prefer to many (if not most) reds.
To clarify, I do not have a specific solution in mind, nor am I claiming this is a game-ruining flaw, if anything this could be entirely intentional in terms of balancing. If it makes more sense to you this way, treat this post as just an observation on an unusual pattern in ror2 item balance
To illustrate my point, I've gone ahead like a nerd and wrote out my perspective on how impactful each of the red items are.
This is the end of the post basically, feel free to not read the rest unless you want my lukewarm take on red items. I just feel like when you look at them all side by side my argument seems much more reasonable:
- * 57 Leaf Clover: Best item in the game right? Well I am trash but I've gotten smacked in MANY runs where I've gotten a clover, although it's amazing with even just a few synergy items, and keeps getting better the more you have, you do need to have them, and something like a band build, or any other build that doesn't rely heavily on random chance items, or if you just get unlucky with collecting crit items, and 57 leaf clover may not shine until you would've otherwise won anyways. In most situations in runs that haven't looped yet, although you would be happier to find a clover, realistically it is unlikely that a good green items wouldn't overall boost your build much more.
- * Aegis: Really bad. I mean I get that you can do funny things with it and I like that it exists to enable meme builds as well as being one of the only good ultra-late game post-loop defensive items, but even though it's decent in that scenario, at that point you a. rarely need it b. could easily get oneshot regardless c. isn't even as good as other lower quality items such as safer spaces, ruckler, opal, even elixir. Also, even more points taken away for being usually worse than a single brooch in eclipse.
- * Alien head: good sometimes, but honestly never build defining. Only time it's really amazing is when it helps you pass certain breakpoints like mercenary iframe godmode or pillar skip, but otherwise it's just nice to have and doesn't really massively buff you. If anything, it's nice to have super early game when you don't have many damage items, but later on it can be restricted by band timers for example. I would say very rarely does alien head end up being better than a good green.
- * Ben's raincoat: kind of the same as alien head, it's nice, but nothing incredible. It's easy for it to get bonked off and block something inconsequential while letting through a massive imp bleed, but then let through a lethal status, kind of like tougher times (status effects are less predictable than damage imo so I think it is worse than safer spaces). Honestly, depending on how you see it, it's either only good on, or useless on characters that have a self-status effects like corrupted void fiend, but I'd be suprised if anyone thought ben's is a run changing item.
- * Bottled Chaos: The ONLY practical use for this absolute troll of an item is pillar skipping with vase while keeping a good equipment. Even in equipment cd builds like fmp soulbound or gesture sillyness, it ends up being unbearable because of the forced volcanic egg, and rarely reliable or really that strong, feels like it's more of a lunar item than anything.
- * Brainstalks: I want to like this item so bad but it really sucks so much. Yes there are a couple of edge cases where it's cool like slicing winds merc or nuking the world with diablo, but at best these are just neat interactions and practically never actually that good or reliable enough unless the run is so won that you don't even need to really use many abilities at all. Even many fun theoretical applications end up being mediocre because of the 0.5s global cooldown ruining it.
- * Behemoth: Great item, you're usually happy to see this, at worst it's just a slight bump to your aoe, at best it massively increases your procs. It's not always or even probably that frequent that it completely makes your run, but it's still so consistently good I'd say it lives up to its color.
- * Ceremonial Dagger: Everyone's said it before me, but this is the classic case of the item seeming strong because it lets you walk away from your pc on a god run, while actually doing not much unless you have a lot of items that help make it work, at which point you were probably doing pretty well already.
- * Dio's: Not the most exciting item but it's definitely always strong and useful, befitting of being a red, is an actual good defensive item red (might be the only one tbh) because late game you usually get oneshot if you take a big hit.
- * Frost Relic: Suprisingly enough, although it's not super exciting, one of the more applicable reds to get, at least without having already borderline won the game. Provides a hefty cushion against melee enemies, a really strong source of damage, good interactions with a variety of items, yeah it's not the flashiest but it's definitely always good to get, even without having a god run going. Unfortunate part is it sucks when stacked unless you get a LOT.
- * Headstompers: Contender for the best item in the game, probably the best *single* item in the game, stupid damage such that it's always your best ability, even without that, the fall damage removal and jump height is so massive for limitless reasons such as trimp pillar skips. It's not just an amazing red item it's like one and a half amazing red items in one. Also amazing on eclipse for obvious reasons.
- * Happiest Mask: So rare that you get any use out of this, sucks when stacked, bad in general, never reliable, less useful than most greens. It's fun for the memes when you've basically already won the game but it's never a serious good item, it can even kill you by having your ghosts backstab you like the dunestrider sucking you (not sure if these got patched)
- * Hardlight Afterburner: Situationally amazing, but never necessary to making a build work. The most consistent value/highest impact you get out of this is either on loader or to enable pillar skip, quite frequently it ends up being dead weight. Feels like a green item with buffed stats, although some utilities are too strong for a green to give more stacks so idk.
- * Desk Plant: Not exciting, but I guess not terrible either? Healing sucks in general in eclipse unfortunately but it's still one of the better healing items, you can't tell me you're really ever happy to see this unless you have, like, some stupidly specific build with fmp/rejuv/n'kuhana's. Also stacking does not increase the heal, albeit the stacks aren't useless.
- * Laser Scope: The only crit item that does not give crit chance, I really don't get it. This one writes itself, it can be really good, but needs setup, and the more it's good, the more likely you are to already be having a run that would be amazing without it.
- * N'kuhana's: Unusable on eclipse, bad otherwise, healing in ror2 is generally kinda underwhelming and rarely saves you past first couple of stages, stacks kinda shittily too, and requires a massive setup to have any value (not even really worth it, i'd still scrap useless healing items)
- * Pocket ICBM: Ridiculously strong item, probably to the point where it's a little out of line, but only *if* you already have one of three specific build conditions that make it great, but otherwise a red paperweight. Most consistent way to get value is probably shrimp, with atg also decent, if you're trying to make fireworks work you need a caffeinator or some other setup, dml is good but doesn't compare to the others. So it's good, but fairly situational, so you'll often get it and have no use for it.
- * Rejuv Rack: No one's happy to see this. I'm kind of confused as to why it's a red, it's so out of place compared to the other reds even just in that it's litteraly just a stat change. Healing is bad in general, which makes this unnecessary and bad outside of very specific builds, also additionally extremely bad in eclipse of course.
- * Resonance Disc: Straight up not good. Like it can be fun sometimes to see it get a big proc off, but it's so inconsistent, and the conditions for it to proc are so arcane and stringent, I'd rather have any of atg/uke/wotw/bands any day.
- * Sentient Meat Hook: Good for same reason as uke and atg, kind of a bastard child of both but also can be uniquely powerful in some situations. It's definitely strong, and mostly feels like a red because it's like those two greens in one. It's not that crazy on its own though, and in a lot of applications a small stack of atgs could probably outperform it, it stacks well but weirdly.
- * Shattering Justice: Noticeable and potent DPS boost, most survivors on most builds can reliably proc it enough to get some value, but even at its best it boils down to a damage multiplier, in the same way crit/atg/bands/etc. are. It's definitely not bad, and it's uniquely strong on survivors that have high uptime with the debuff, but again, it's nothing run-making, and often less consequential than a strong green.
- * Soulbound Catalyst: So unbearably situational albeit a really fun item when you get it going, you're either really happy or sad to see this drop. The most nuts synergy it had, fmp, got nerfed even, although it still works and even works with other actives like dml. But it's in that weird spot without FMP where before mithrix it's literally just a minor time saver if you've found the meta actives (recyclecard), and not useful really at mithrix when you'd want a combat equipment because you're starved for resets. So either specifically with FMP and other on-kill items, or an okayish crutch item with a damage equipment to get you through the early game, and otherwise not useful.
- * Spare Drone Parts: You know there's something weird with reds when this is one of the more generally applicable reds. It's not bad early-mid game although obviously has little impact in already god-runs (not that you need it). Uniquely good because you actually get to *choose* ways to get more value out of it by buying drones, or fishing for a gun to use on solus, as well as other items it synergizes with.
- * Scorpion: Basically a more extreme shattering justice, and therefore more situational. The dps bump on builds that make good use of it is so much bigger than shattering justice that the general consensus is that it's a "better" item (I would agree). I guess this is probably because despite being situational it enables a really powerful combination beyond just being a flat damage multiplier.
- * Tesla Coil: Similar to ceremonial daggers, but actually really strong in most cases even without a crazy amount of synergies unlike ceremonials. It does need some items to proc but even still it's flexible enough to be an all around good item. I still wouldn't necessarily say it outclasses the stronger greens. Kind of sucks that it's not useful for mithrix and can even get you killed phase 4 if you're not careful.
- * Wake of Vultures: Same unreliability as brainstalks, but instead of giving you a buff that can be situationally pretty powerful, gives you a buff that is somewhat difficult to anticipate and isn't even that strong. Especially given short duration it's completely unpractical, pretty much always a novelty practically never useful except by accident on rare occasions, most likely value tbh is to yoink perfected from mobs so you can't take fall damage on the moon if you suck like me and fall.
So in total, if you were to open a large chest on first loop, without an already strong build, and got a big dopamine rush from seeing the red droplet, what are you actually going to end up with? If you high roll, you would get the 4/26 items that are a really huge boost to your power no matter what. Otherwise, you could end up with the 5/26 chance for an item that's at least a bump in power, but requires a few items to be really impactful, or instead, the same 5/26 chance for an item that
could be decent as long as you're lucky enough to be already building items that work well with it, albeit the ones I'd put in this category have prerequisites that are fairly common and rather achievable in builds at this point. Otherwise? You're really kind of out of luck, rolling either a 7/26 chance for an at least helpful mostly inconsequential item (or one that is very difficult to get value from), or worst case, the 5/26 items with practically no impact at all (especially if you're on eclipse).
So in this situation, you'd have a less than one fifth chance to get an item that will just give you a big power increase no matter what, almost a 50/50 chance of getting an item that will do basically nothing, and the remaining two fifths-ish of the items are wildly inconsistent and can range from barely any use to actually pretty good if you have the right situation, but if you're hoping for a red item to turn an unlucky run around, the odds are really not great, you're more likely to claw back into the game with good greens if anything.

2023.03.20 21:50 Key-Piece-3206 Sports Betting Sign-Up Bonus Guide
| Originally posted in lunchmoney Background This is a method that goes over how you can make $5,000 - $10,000 risk-free by signing up for new user bonuses with various regulated sportsbooks (earnings depend on your location). Because I am in Canada, I will cover the Ontario market, but if you live in other regulated areas you can still use 99% of this guide to learn how to make money on sportsbooks. I made another guide on Sports Betting Arbitrage here, where I show you have you can make $500 per day, risk-free. I have personally made over $25,000 from sports betting and will answer any questions you have in the comments! Basics of Sports Betting Here are some common sign-up bonuses, terms and conditions (T&Cs), and sports betting lingo: Different Sign-Up Bonuses: - Deposit Match – A deposit match is what it sounds like, when you sign up for the sportsbook and make a deposit, the sportsbook will match your deposit in bet credits or cash.
- Bet & Get – When you sign up and place qualifying bets, the sportsbook will grant you a certain amount of bet credits (usually significantly more than your initial bet).
- 2nd Chance Bet – Some sportsbooks will offer a 2nd chance bet where the bettor only gets a bet credit if your initial bet LOSES. To make the most of this bonus, you should intentionally lose on the initial sportsbook and cover your loss on a different sportsbook and then use your 2nd chance bet.
Common T&Cs: - Minimum Odds – Some sportsbooks will implement a minimum odds clause in their T&Cs for bets placed in connection to a promotion. If the book sets the minimum odds to -200, this means you must bet on odds of -200, -150, +150, +200, … etc.
- Wagering Requirements / Rollover – A rollover clause means that you must bet the amount of your deposit a certain amount of times. For example, a 5x rollover on a deposit of $100 means you need to wager $500 to claim the bonus. Be careful because sometimes you need to rollover both the deposit and the bonus.
- "Stake Not Returned" – When a book does not return your stake, this means that for the bet credits you are granted, you only get the winnings and NOT the stake. For example, if you use $100 of bet credits that don't return the stake, and you bet it on a +150 event that wins, your account balance will go up by $150. If they did return the stake or if it was just a cash bet, your account balance would go up $250 (because you would get the initial $100 stake back).
- Flexible Bet Credits - if a bet credit is flexible, it means you can bet in any increment you want, for example: if you get a $100 flexible bet credit, you can place 100 bets of $1 each, 2 bets of $50 each, 4 bets of $25 each, etc.
- Semi-Flexible Bet Credits - if a bet credit is semi-flexible, it means you can bet in the increment that the sportsbook allows, for example: if you get a $100 semi-flexible bet credit that is split into 4 bets of $25 each, you cannot place 8 bets of $12.50 or 10 bets of $10.
*These are just a few confusing T&Cs. You must read the T&Cs of each promotion to ensure that you understand what the bonus entails because that could change your strategy to maximize each bonus! Common Sports Betting Lingo: - Stake vs. Winnings vs. Payout - in betting, if you place a bet of $100 on the Raptors to win at +250 odds. If the Raptors win, you win $250 and are paid a total of $350. From this example, the $100 was the stake, the $250 is the winnings and the $350 is the payout.
- This guide assumes you know the basics of sports betting. If you do not, please follow this link to find a quick online guide.
Maximizing Winnings on Each Sportsbook - Although all of the following sportsbooks are in Ontario, if you live in the US or Europe, many of these same books will have identical (or very similar promotions), so this will still apply to you.
- If you are in the US or Europe, go to my google drive resource here and download my bet tracking excel sheet. Under the "Bet Credit Retention" tab, you can customize your own bet credit terms, and my excel sheet will tell you exactly how much you need to bet to get a risk-free win! Remember to read the instructions for the excel sheet (also in my google drive) because it can get a little tricky.
- I will also put a ⭐ rating (out of 5) which only rates the sportsbooks sign-up bonus, which is not the same as what I would rate them overall!
- As a note, in the title of each credit, I will specify whether the stake is returned, what the rollover is (assume no rollover if I say nothing), and whether the bet credits are flex, or semi-flex (assume just neither if I say nothing).
⭐⭐⭐ 888Sport - 100% First Deposit Match (up to $250) - Stake Not Returned - Deposit $250 and bet in $50 increments on odds of -200 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Claim your $250 bonus and wager it on a +300 event, wager $562.50 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- When the credits don't return the stake, wagering your bet credit on the highest possible odds will allow you to make the most money off your credit (in this case I chose +300 odds because they are quite high, and going above that is tough to find, even with the screening software I explain later on in this document)
- I explain why betting your credit on the highest possible odds is optimal later on, so keep reading!
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $187.50
- Reasoning: If the +300 wins, you get the $750 of winnings and since you bet $562.50 on the opposite side, your net payout is $187.50! If the -300 event wins, you get the winnings of $187.50 and you get your original $562.50 stake returned (since you used bet credits on the +300 side, you have no cost so you are still up $187.50 regardless)!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bet365 - Bet $1 and Get $250 in Bet Credits - Stake Not Returned & Flex - Deposit $10 and bet in $1 on any odds (this must be done according to the T&C) – no need to hedge on this as its only $1
- Claim your $250 bonus and wager it on a +300 event, wager $562.50 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- Remember, because these are flex credits, you can place a smaller bet using your credits (on the +300 side) so you don't have to cover so much on the -300 side. And this goes for every other flex credit too, not just Bet365!
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $187.50
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bet99 - 100% Matched Bonus on First Deposit (up to $500) – Stake Returned, Flex & 5x Roll - Deposit $500 and wager your deposit 5 times on odds of -125 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook (since these are covered, you make nothing on these initial bets)
- Because the stake is returned, you can treat the bonus as a cash bet so you can bet the bonus on a +100 event and cover a +100 bet on another sportsbook (by betting $500 on the other sportsbook)
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $500
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Betano - 100% Matched Bonus on First Deposit (up to $500) – Stake Returned, Flex & 5x Roll - Deposit $500 and wager your deposit + bonus ($1,000) 5 times on odds of -200 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Claim your $500 bonus and wager it on a +100 event, wager $500 on the opposite side of the original line at +100 on another sportsbook
- Betano is a great sportsbook for hedging because it has a “MAX” button which tells you how much you can bet, allowing you to execute on another sportsbook first with high confidence that Betano will accept your bet on the opposite line!
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $500
⭐⭐⭐ BetRivers - 2nd Chance Bet (up to $500) – Stake Not Returned - Deposit $500 and wager your deposit on odds of -200 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bet on another sportsbook
- The goal with 2nd Chance Bets is to intentionally lose on the original sportsbook because you only get the credit if your bet loses. So you should try and bet on the highest odds possible (+400, +500, +600, +700 … etc.) and cover your bet on another sportsbook. I'll explain this later in more detail.
- Once you’ve intentionally lost on BetRivers, claim your $500 bonus and wager it on a +300 event, wager $1,125 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $375
⭐⭐⭐⭐ BetVictor - 100% Matched Bonus on First Bet (up to $300) – Stake Not Returned & Flex - Deposit $300 and wager your deposit on odds of +100 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Claim your $300 bonus and wager it on a +300 event, wager $675 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $225
⭐⭐ Betway - 100% Matched Bonus on First Deposit (up to $200) – Stake Returned, Flex & 10x Roll* - Deposit $200 and wager your deposit 10 times on odds of -150 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Claim your $200 bonus and wager it on a +100 event, wager $200 on the opposite side of the original line at +100 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $200
⭐⭐⭐ Caesars - 2nd Chance Bet (up to $500) – Stake Not Returned - Deposit $500 and wager your deposit on any odds (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Similar to BetRivers, you want to intentionally lose to claim the bet credit, so bet on the highest possible odds where you can find a hedge on another sportsbook
- Once you’ve intentionally lost on BetRivers, claim your $500 bonus and wager it on a +300 event, wager $1,125 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $375
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ DraftKings - Bet $5 and Get $200 in Bet Credits – Stake Not Returned & Semi-Flex - This promotion is unique because you need to deposit $10 and bet $5 on a winning pre-game moneyline for any College Basketball game and then you get 8x $25 bet credits (totaling $200). Pick a heavy favourite to maximize your chances (there are no minimum odds for this)
- Claim your $200 bonus (of 8x $25 bets) and wager each bet on a +300 event, wager ~$450 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $150
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fanduel - 2nd Chance Bet (up to $1,000) – Stake Returned & Flex - Deposit $1,000 and wager your deposit on any odds greater than -300 (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Similar to BetRivers and Caesars, you want to intentionally lose to claim the bet credit, so bet on the highest possible odds where you can find a hedge on another sportsbook
- Once you’ve intentionally lost on Fanduel, claim your $1,000 bonus and wager it on a +100 event, wager $1,000 on the opposite side of the original line at +100 on another sportsbook
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $1,000
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LeoVegas - Cash Bonus on First Three Deposits (up to $500) - LeoVegas offers a unique sports welcome bonus that will require some explaining
- The bonus is claimed in three different deposits. Firstly, you are going to want to deposit $300 and wager it 10 times on odds greater than -125 and hedge your bets on another sportsbook. Once you’ve done this, you claim a $300 cash bonus straight into your account balance.
- Next, you are going to deposit $100 and wager it 10 times on odds greater than -125 and hedge your bets on another sportsbook. Once you’ve done this, you claim a $100 cash bonus straight into your account balance. Repeat this one more time for another $100 cash bonus and then you are all done!
- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $500
⭐⭐⭐ NorthStar Bets - 100% Matched Bonus on First Bet (up to $150) – Stake Not Returned - Deposit $150 and wager your deposit on odds of -500 or greater (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook

- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $100

- To claim this, deposit $1,000 on your first day and wager $100 on any odds greater than -200 (this must be done according to the T&C) and hedge your bets on another sportsbook
- Similar to BetRivers, Caesars, and Fanduel, you want to intentionally lose to claim the bet credit, so bet on the highest possible odds where you can find a hedge on another sportsbook
- Repeat this step for 9 more days and claim your $100 bet credit each day!
- Once you have all 10 of your $100 bet credits, wager them on a +300 event, wager $225 on the opposite side of the original line at -300 on another sportsbook

- Guaranteed risk-free profit: $150
--- Summary: Summing all of these guaranteed profits up, you can get $6,437.50 by completing all of these sign-up bonuses! Many of these same sportsbooks also offer promotions for active users that you can use as well (reload bonuses, boosted odds, refer-a-friend promos, etc.) so you can continue making money once you have done the sign-up promotion. Finding Odds How the Previous Section Assumes that Odds Work: If the Lakers play the Warriors and the Warriors moneyline is +100 on Fanduel, and since the Warriors will win 50% of the time (based on those odds) then the Lakers will also win 50% of the time. Because of this, based on expected payoffs, we assume Fanduel will have the Lakers moneyline at +100. How Odds Actually Work: Fanduel obviously wants to make money, so if they put the Warriors at +100, they will put the Lakers at -150 to give Fanduel a nice chunk called a spread. This is inevitable in the sports betting industry because sportsbooks need to make money. Assuming the spreads are 20% (which is like a tax on each bet), instead of making the original $6,437.50 from the sign-up bonuses, you will only make $5,150.00, meaning you would lose $1,287.50 if you took that 20% spread! How can we Save the 20% Tax: Software! Odds change every second of the day and after months of searching for odds manually, a very inefficient and time-consuming task, I finally found a tool called OddsJam. OddsJam screens millions of odds per second on hundreds of sportsbooks, including all the sportsbooks I’ve mentioned above. Using the OddsJam platform has saved me thousands of dollars and is the reason I was able to make so much off sign-up bonuses. If you decide to start harvesting bonuses on sportsbooks, using OddsJam is a must and you can use my link and promo code “ Firebet” at checkout for 25% lifetime discount (to ensure you get the discount, press on my link before signing up and enter the promo code at checkout)! Remember, this software can increase your earnings from the signup bonuses by $1,287.50💵❗You can make even more if you use the arbitrage tool, which I cover in a different guide (linked here). Example of Doing a Sign-Up Bonus Steps: - Log into OddsJam and go to the Arbitrage Betting Tool (this tool comes with the industry plan)
- Once on the Arbitrage Betting tool, use the filters to find odds
https://preview.redd.it/na1o29ghiyoa1.png?width=990&format=png&auto=webp&s=704b8708b4250abe665422547ebe70ed08a3c57a - Find an opportunity on OddsJam and press the calculator to find how much to bet on each sportsbook

https://preview.redd.it/ocdgxpwjiyoa1.png?width=1031&format=png&auto=webp&s=9e3c07ab02e0bf4a16d1dc2d6787ac9f27d12df6 https://preview.redd.it/ly75gsrkiyoa1.png?width=1030&format=png&auto=webp&s=978eeaf1bf5cbc6673e86b369ae102f1ebaf829e - We have now completed part of our wagering requirements for Fanduel and Betano. We can repeat this process to harvest the sign-up bonus!
The Math Behind the Bets: - If we bet $50 on Fanduel on under 195.5 at +850. To covehedge this bet, we need to bet $410 on Betano on the over at -625
- Since there are only two possible outcomes (and we have bet on both of those outcomes), we are guaranteed to win $15.52! On top of that, we are also completing our bonus wagering requirements!
- With this particular bet, if the over wins, we get our $50 stake back and we get the winnings of $425 on Fanduel. Since we also bet $410 on Betano and this bet did not win, we lose our stake. Because the winnings of the initial bet are greater than our stake for the opposite bet, we come out on top!
- If the opposite happens, we get our stake back on Betano and we get winnings of $65 which covers the $50 stake we do not get back on Fanduel.
Why we Want to Lose our 1st Bet for "2nd Chance Bet" Offers - For 2nd chance bets, we only get the bet credit if our first bet loses
- So to give us the highest chance of losing our first bet, we should bet on the highest possible odds (+300, +500, +1000, etc.) where we can find opposite odds on another sportsbook
- For example, below we see odds of +250 on Betrivers and odds of -238 on Betano for the Pelicans – Mavericks game. The +250 odds imply that there is a low chance that this will occur so we take this bet because we know we have a $500 2nd chance bet on BetRivers
https://preview.redd.it/nd98egsliyoa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a3a673f69fa386dd3e05706322bce650894bdc1 - Using the provided calculator, we bet $500 on the over using the Betrivers and we also bet $1,232 on under using Betano
- If the over loses, which it should ~75% of the time based on those odds, we win $517 on Betano and we lose our initial stake of $500 on BetRivers – so we still come out with a $17 profit
- We are then awarded with our 2nd chance bet of $500 on BetRivers which we can use as described in a previous section of the guide
Why we Use Bet Credits on the Highest Possible Odds - When given bet credits (that do not return the stake), we want to maximize our guaranteed earnings
- You may be wondering why I keep saying you should bet on odds of +300 (which are high) for each sportsbooks bonus guide
- The reason is that we want to maximize the potential payout-to-credit ratio, which gives us a higher retention of the bet credit
- As you see in the chart below, the higher the bet credit odds, the higher retention of the bet credit!
https://preview.redd.it/sbe3033niyoa1.png?width=770&format=png&auto=webp&s=739177b124244803cf2fdc2f7ce20eea3c73ad9d Summary - Sign up for each sportsbook and participate in their sign-up bonus (following my advice for each book and for each type of sign-up bonus) and make $6,437.50, risk-free!
- Sign up for the OddsJam platform here and use my promo code “Firebet” at checkout for 25% lifetime discount (to ensure you get the discount, press on my link before signing up and enter the promo code at checkout)! This software personally helped me make $1,000's and can help you save $1,287.50 by finding odds that have no spread!
- Go to my google drive resource page here to get my excel tracker that helps track everything (deposits, bets, credits, profit per day, week, quarter, etc.)! I also provided instructions to the excel sheet that should help
- If you want to learn more about how I made $500 per day (risk-free) by doing arbitrage betting, here is another Reddit post I made showing you how you can do the same thing as me!

In a placebo-controlled counterbalanced design, 20mg of IV DMT fumarate induced wide-ranging experiences: strong visuals, alternate ‘dimensions’, ‘entity encounters’, disembodiment, 'mystical' states. https://preview.redd.it/cxy2a85ncyoa1.jpg?width=1566&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a4b7f6e365f15d3651137383e3b3bb397c6e155 Static RSFC analysis revealed that within-network connectivity was reduced in most canonical networks, while between-network connectivity was prominently increased for high-level networks (DMN, FP, SAL), a finding confirmed by global functional connectivity analysis (GFC). https://preview.redd.it/wzdn8jxpcyoa1.jpg?width=979&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3793e4647948b7d00b3d0dd8dc2baf65b5a45bbf We leveraged DMT’s rapid effects (~10mins) for dynamic analysis using real-time intensity ratings and plasma DMT. We confirmed static results (hyperconnectivity in high-level systems and reduced connectivity between sensory-motor areas). These correlated with 5-HT2AR density. https://preview.redd.it/0urzbq3wcyoa1.jpg?width=1548&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da8d832d63f6a40e22adbd3e2db70d1ced3c3389 https://preview.redd.it/49ax14vycyoa1.jpg?width=1722&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e82422ddd6432d62c20108ee6c4f562a1b304dd DMT also flattened the principal connectivity gradient of brain organisation normally (see PCB for a ‘normal state’) separating sensory from high-level areas (or the Transmodal associatiOn Pole; TOP). Higher gradient scores in sensory, lower scores in the TOP https://preview.redd.it/pgcb62sndyoa1.jpg?width=1122&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=016b2951e8240c8c026c186deef6e9fe8f79f533 In EEG, we found DMT-induced reduced alpha and backward waves (possibly encoding priors), increased forward waves, delta, and gamma power. Increased entropy (LZ) was linked to the richness of experience supporting the entropic brain hypothesis (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.neuropharm.2018.03.010) https://preview.redd.it/inilyi0qdyoa1.jpg?width=1774&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f952bc4cdc1bd294ab11c7f653926f9051a6a08 Simultaneous EEG-fMRI revealed alpha power and entropy (LZ) significantly correlated with connectivity at the TOP, while delta power involved both sensory and TOP areas. We also found evidence for connectivity in limbic areas related to alpha, gamma, and entropy (LZ) https://preview.redd.it/0cfvf3rbeyoa1.jpg?width=1124&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2433f404a3306ee8cea5670396cdbf9b77925abb https://preview.redd.it/0bwg67mdeyoa1.jpg?width=1126&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=515d1fc7065c31fb143de291f7a2428cc93e9b76 These findings support previous findings of TOP networks being more prominently dysregulated (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cub.2016.02.010) rather than sensory ones (https://doi.org/10.7554/eLife.35082) during psychedelics The TOP of the principal gradient has been linked to human-specific advancements: cortical expansion, abstract semantics, and longer temporal delays https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tics.2017.11.002 Neurosynth analysis showed DMT overlapped with language, semantic, and task regions https://preview.redd.it/n0hr1ibqeyoa1.jpg?width=1192&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96634fe9fc89481f3832e0581144896c0d772233 Findings also support the REBUS hypothesis (https://doi.org/10.1124/pr.118.017160). While the precision of priors (TOP-related) goes down, increased connectivity in limbic areas may act as the ‘source’ of novel content emerging during psychedelics. More work is needed to test this directly Future work using neurophenomenological (NP) approaches (rigorous interviewing, experience sampling) will help support or refute how psychedelic experiences/substates relate to the brain effects of our study (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tics.2022.11.006) https://preview.redd.it/yzgjpudueyoa1.jpg?width=1996&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30e380258b918785bf81d63faea1594e085063bb We also performed extensive supplementary analysis controlling for motion and global signal regression, corroborating our findings. See the Supplementary Information for details Thank you Massive gratitude also to the courageous anonymous participants who gracefully volunteered in this DMT study. I cannot stress enough the importance of careful screening, support, respectful presence, etc. needed to make sure everyone has a safe experience in these studies Original Source Further Reading https://preview.redd.it/xw57nqg6hyoa1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ae44e5a4e6dd2e12c4990da1abd48ee003cec49 submitted by NeuronsToNirvana to NeuronsToNirvana [link] [comments] |
