Any ideas if there are plans to bring back the hands-free lift gate? And/or acoustic laminate glass?
2023.06.02 18:14 Xapisity Any ideas if there are plans to bring back the hands-free lift gate? And/or acoustic laminate glass?
Hey all
Slowly trying to get caught up on all the Mach E headlines since i last paid attention around the original launch date.
Biggest "changes" i saw, and things a future purchaser should be aware of are the following:
- New- production with LFP battery starting now
- New- integrations with Tesla / NACS charger starting 2024 perhaps
- Removed - Hands free lift gate is gone as of 2022 and park assist
- Removed - No more acoustic glass on door windows also as of 2022?
Am i missing anything else i should be aware of? Especially since it sounds like dealers are still not going to be as well educated as the folks here on reddit or macheforum etc.
Any ideas if the lift gate or acoustic glass is returning after the supply chain issues resolve themselves over time?
I have a CRV with the hands free lift gate and it doesn't always work, so i know its not a super important feature but it is really nice to have when it does work lol..

To avoid confusion around BlueCruise subscription pricing we wanted to clarify the pricing details. Ford is changing the way it offers BlueCruise to customers. For new Mustang Mach-E orders made after May 2, BlueCruise is available at the time of purchase for $2,100 for 3-years. If a customer does not choose to subscribe to BlueCruise at the time of purchase, the vehicle will be delivered with a 90-day complimentary trial.
BlueCruise renewal for Mustang Mach-E, excluding certain model year 2021 vehicles, is $800 per year or $75 per month at the end of any initial subscription or trial period.
BlueCruise renewal for model year 2021 vehicles purchased with the optional BlueCruise Prep Package* is available at a discounted rate of $200 a year for three years or $75 a month at the end of the customer’s initial subscription period. Following this discounted subscription cycle, customers will renew at the standard price.
If you are unsure of what model you have and which offer you are eligible for, you can contact the Ford Customer Service Center at (800) 392-3673.
*Model Year 2021 vehicles with the BlueCruise Prep Package known as (Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 Prep Package) was for the first vehicles that did not ship from the factory with BlueCruise installed and received the software at a later date.

2023.05.14 19:16 hippopotamus82 NEMA14-50 plug-in Mobile charger vs 3rd party EVSE
I'm reading posts like
these, that claim that the mobile charger is not really meant for daily use. I know there are mixed reports on that point, but it sounds like the recommended alternative is a dedicated EVSE like the Grizzl-E or Chargepoint EV.
That said, I see that these 3rd party EVSE options come in a NEMA14-50 plugin option, and I'm wondering if these are considered more durable compared to the ford mobile charger, or if I have to go with the hardwired options to get the durability.
As some background, my charging needs are an overnight charge once every 3-4 days so 32Amps with the plugin options are sufficient, and I'm not truly using the mobile charger on a truly daily basis. The NEMA14-50 plug appears to be a durable option which seems to be a common breakdown point for plug-in type chargers. The electrician knew that I was using it for EV charging and additionally, I had charged my Tesla Model 3 for about 3 years as well with the mobile charger without problems.
TLDR: So ultimately my question is, if I decide to upgrade to a 3rd party EVSE, is the NEMA14-50 plugin option sufficient or do I need to go hardwired?

I've seen a lot of posts lately with someone saying "you need special adapters to lift" or the tire store told them they didn't have the special adapters . So below is direct from shop manual, standard lift pads work fine. Print this and put it the glove box for tire stores, tire centers etc ..... Credit to whoever posted this .pdf originally.

2022.12.22 02:24 mwsno Does Cold Weather Affect Power
I currently have a Mach E GT but hopefully will see my R1T delivered early next year. I've been noticing power being limited during the current cold snap in the PNW. I wanted to know if anyone has noticed any power limitations on the Rivians during the cold weather? Curious if this is an EV thing or just the Mach Es.
Here's an example of what I've been seeing on the Mach E. It's only really noticeable if you step on it hard.

2022.12.06 22:07 somedevinguy New (potentially?) Transit Stop: Lazaro Ca, MH en route to California
Hey Reddit peeps.
I also posted this on the forum for anyone interested, but figured we may have some different audiences, so here goes.. Hoping some of y'all might have some info.
I am part of the 11/14/22 build week, and I shipped on 11/22. Since then, I've been stuck in Mexico since. On the 28th, I was at the Junction Point in Lecheria, on the 30th, I shipped and had a railcar #. And on the 3rd, I arrived in
Lazaro Ca, MH. Both confirmed by FC and my dealer. It basically only traveled a few hours away over the course of 2 weeks!
Throughout my searching of google and the forum (and this subreddit),
I haven't really been able to find anyone with the same stop (besides one forum member who is going to the same dealer) There are some others in the 11/7 build week who are still going the typical route (through the normal rail stops, KC, MO, etc.)
My original ETA was 12/14-12/19 on delivery to my dealer. My sales person is suggesting this may be a new route. I am just hoping I
do not still have to go through the normal route which will result in my car not making it anywhere near its ETA. I've asked to receive email/text updates when the car moves through their program.
*I understand shipping issues like these are the norm around here, but more so curious to see if anyone else has stopped here before and any routes they've taken along the way from there. Thanks all!

2022.11.03 20:04 dyrmaker83 "32 amps continuous max" charging?
So my wife has been trying to charge our brand new (5 days old) 2022 Mach E at her office, which offers free destination charging with a 40 amp Leviton charger (
this one). The dealer didn't mention activating the BlueOval charge network, so we did that, but still no dice after trying multiple chargers - one of which charged another Mach E an hour earlier (so we know it's not a hardware issue). I've been trying to assist and read in the manual that SAE max current is limited to "32 amps continuous max"
I've also read that a lot of people have had issues with similar chargers rated above 32 amps (issuing errors or charging for limited amounts of time,
here's an example). My question is, are we missing anything? I'm not sure what taking it back to the dealer will even accomplish. Are Mach E's seriously limited to lower current chargers after I've read they are compatible with 48 amp chargers? She's been on the phone with Ford will little success, so any suggestions are welcome.
EDIT: my bad, the formatting on PDF page 161 is weird and I see now the 32 amps is referring specifically to the supplied Ford mobile charger. Still not sure we why we (and apparently a few others) are having an issue.

2022.11.02 05:07 bluemouseios Picked up my mach e last weekend
| tl;dr Orderred CA Rt1 in Feb, built in Sept and picked up in late Oct. 8 months waiting but completely worthy it. I was worried that I may not get my Mach E as multiple posts said that the exact dealer is adding huge markups to online orders. I paniced and chatted with Ford but they weren't helpful at all, the most they can do is to file a complain to that dealer but nothing to address the markups as they promised. So I went to the dealer last weekend and get myself prepared to walk away if markups were there. But the result turned out to be much better than I thought. The dealer sold it at MSRP, honorred x-plan price and the Ford Option rate locked in Feb (2.49%), plus $2500 incentive back then. However, get the lock-in rate is not that straightforward, you have to get your homework done and communicate in the right way. I will share my experience and hopefully helps others. The dealer initially gave me 6.99% APR with their own financial dept which probably is current market but still much higher than I can get from credit union. I explained the rate lock and asked them to pull the Smart Vincent report, they did and came back with 3.99% IIRC. This is still current rate not the one in Feb, so I showed them the screenshot I found in macheforum (big support group over there), asked them again to select the protection box with the ordering date, not the sales date. They went and came back finally with 2.49%. The story didn't end here and my incomplete homework almost make me miss the $2500 incentive from Ford Option, as I only checked the standard one. The finacial guy was trying to sell me the extended warranty. After I rejected the offer, he played the trick to switch to Ford Option with the same APR but used the incentive to cover the extended warranty cost, and told me, hey, it is free for you now lol. I was a bit tired at that point and decided not to fight over the unwanted warranty. After all, if without him, I would be happy to leave the $2500 behind without awareness. The warranty term is not horrible, $2500 for 7 years bump-to-bump. And I still have 30 days to cancel it with full refund, but debating with myself now whether to keep it or not. Lastly, the only accessory that dealer added was the paint coating for ~$700, which is totally fine with me, particularly when I was expecting huge markups when entering the store. https://preview.redd.it/rrbrj022lgx91.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54befdb867d052991b9c27d239189cc1e8558d20 submitted by bluemouseios to MachE [link] [comments] |

2022.08.28 17:24 geno7 Anyone update their Mach-E at home?
I’m having trouble getting an appointment at the dealership and even more so a loaner to use while they have my car. I’ve checked out this
post regarding updating and home and want to give it a shot. Seems pretty straight forward.
My car was originally stuck on the 1.7 update. Dealership “fixed” the issue with the recall but I don’t believe the software updated. I have securilert but don’t have notes in my apps. I haven’t received any OTA updates in forever and the last one I can see in my widget tool is a failed 1.7 from June

2022.08.25 23:48 TechnicalLee PSA: Make sure your dealer changes your priority code from 99 after converting your '22MY order to '23MY
This post only applies to '22 orders being converted to '23 orders, ignore this if you are making a new order.
If your '22 order has not been scheduled for production yet, it will automatically be converted to the closest possible configuration as a '23 order next Monday, Aug 29th when '23 order banks open. Due to options changes, some orders with significant differences will not covert to '23 orders. You need to discuss these changes with your salesmen, and if you approve they need to change your order priority code from 99 (which means on-hold) back to the normal range of 10-19 for retail orders (lower is higher priority). If you do not trust that they've done this properly, ask for the
WBDO printout of your order showing the order code and priority code. At some dealers, only the sales manager will know how to change the priority code, ask up the chain if necessary.
Dealer intervention is required, if your dealer forgets to change your priority code from 99, your Mach-E will never be built! This has happened to other owners before, come to find out their dealer forgot to change the priority code from 99 and their converted order was unnecessarily delayed for many extra months. Most dealers will not admit to this mistake and just say it took that long. Dealers are supposed to call you to discuss this change during the next month, but many will forget so please be polite and proactive about your '23 order conversion. Don't assume it's handled if you never get a call.
You should receive a private offer (rebate) from Ford in a few weeks to help offset the increased costs of the '23 order. We don't know what amount that will be yet. Last year it was $750 which mostly covered the (much smaller) price increases.
X-plan pricing will no longer be available in 2023, execpt for customers that were planning on using it for their '22 orders. In the meantime, you may want to study the 2023 order guide at the Mach-E forum to understand '23 changes:

2022.08.07 18:48 imprevade Plastic Clips (Locking Pins) for Frunk Beauty Covers
If you've taken the beauty covers off in the frunk area (like to manually disengage your charge lock) you may have lost some of the plastic clips (locking pins), since they tend to fly off easily. The replacement part# is W720957, and
here is the link. Thanks to
"Murse-In-Airy" on the Mach-E forums for finding the part number. I haven't seen anyone mention it here on the subreddit, and it's not easy to google if you don't know what you're looking for. There's also some suggestions for preventing the pins from falling off in that thread, if you're interested.

2022.08.03 10:23 decentlydelirious Delivery in 2 weeks! Tips for preparing?
I've already made contact w/ my dealership in anticipation of my Premium ER AWD. It's a family run dealership that specializes in trucks. Sales rep seems like a nice guy, and we already went through the first round of emails, but he has no idea about Price & Incentive Protection, $750 CA energy rebate, Ford Options, etc. I'm a little nervous going in and feeling the brunt of informing him. He sent me a quote w/ current MSRP minus some X-plan discount. Thankfully I have my order w/ signature from Oct '21.
Should I continue to communicate w/ him over email or offer to go in person ahead of time - anyone have any good previous experience? Are there any good documents I should print out? Also: how do I know if my area (San Jose, CA) has any of the $2500 or $100 Ford Options incentives?
I linked some resources that I've looked into that has helped, for anyone who's curious about the things I've mentioned. Idk if I should send these things to him.
