All he does is watch YouTube play minecraft or roblox and sleep all day the only time he goes outside is when he's forced to he is so slow too and his spelling is just horrid. My discord account just got banned so I wanted him to @ my friend to give him my phone number and I told him "go to my server and @ 🕳♠️Smile♠️🕳 and tell him my account got deleted and to give him my phone number" he was saying it wasn't working and he was on our DM's trying to @ someone who wasn't there after I specifically told him. I'm amazed he passed this grade with how dumb he is. I'm starting to think about just not being friends with him and going on his roblox account and taking all of his good stuff in the game we play together and blocking him and never talking to him again. He's so slow and stupid sometimes it makes me wanna go to his house and punch him. Did I mention all he eats is junk food and goes to bed at 3-4 am and wakes up at 2pm? “It’s the most natural question people ask,” Vornik says. “The answer is it’s very difficult to do. You have a small object, perhaps as big as a dinner plate, blending in against a complex background or a similar colour to the sky. And it’s moving erratically.”
The builder of drone tracking and disabling technology says he’s seen trained military personnel fire dozens of shots trying to bring down a drone just 30 metres away.
“Those bullets are going to land somewhere. So you’re going to have collateral damage”.
Mostly drones are helpful tools or enjoyable pastimes, but they can also be unwanted spies in the sky, delivery devices for acts of terrorism, or – as in Ukraine – front-line combatants.
Countering them (c-uas), says Vornik, is a complex equation of risk against reward, and cost versus return.
“If you’re a military base, chances are you want to take down the drone as fast as possible,” says Vornik. But using a $150,000 shoulder-launched Stinger anti-aircraft missile against a $1500 off-the-shelf drone isn’t economically viable.
“If you’re a prison, for example, we don’t recommend you take it down,” he adds. “That’s a temporary solution. But if you track in real time where it lands, who picks up its package and who’s controlling it, you can solve the whole crime in one hit”.

“Drones are so ubiquitous,” he says. “They can be everywhere. But if you’ve only got five exquisitely effective systems to respond with, then your response is crippled from the start.”
They “fire” beams of radio waves over a distance measured in “multiples” of kilometres (the actual ranges remain an operational secret). Each beam, like that of a searchlight, can catch more than one drone in its “glare”. The drones lose contact with their controllers.
“The jamming effect is instantaneous,” Vornik says.
Drones flying on autopilot must access satellite GPS navigation signals or electronic beacons. “These can be disabled using our jammers”.
And holding the beam on them longer magnifies the effect.
“It will freeze a drone,” Vornik adds. “It will put it on the ground”.
Such DroneShield systems neutralised four suspicious devices amid the tens of thousands of people attending the inauguration ceremony of Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in January this year.
“The problems were numerous,” he says. “The most obvious is that it’s very imprecise. And it can be saturated in a noisy environment like an airfield or stadium”.
Radar, at first glance, appeared to be an obvious alternative.
But when it comes to areas with lots of moving objects – such as forests, fields and football fields – it’s almost impossible to discriminate between a flitting bird, a meandering cow, a frantic fan and a low-flying drone.
“So we came up with the hand-held radio frequency sensor,” Vornik says. “It’s basically identifying the uplinks and downlink signals between the drone and the controller. The flight telemetry. The video feeds.”
Such transmissions can be triangulated at distances of multiple kilometres. And their details are assembled via software, overlaid on digital maps, and displayed on portable devices.

Each RF jammer carries enough power for a day’s worth of use and spare batteries can be easily carried.

I'm sure most of you have had to deal with aggressive bystanders at one time or another. They can be very annoying and can bring your blood to a boil. Here are a few lessons I've learned when dealing with aggressive bystanders.

- Ask yourself this: Are they truly interfering with my job? In most jurisdictions, the person has to actually interfere with your official duties to constitute a crime. General officer safety concerns don't cut it anymore. But interference can come in a variety of forms. Are they yelling so loud that you can't hear your radio or interview a witness? Are they physically getting in your way when you are trying to do something? Are they blinding you with a flashlight or cell phone light? Have a genuine complaint against the person before you go hands on.
- Give the person a material object in which they are to stay behind. If you tell them to "move back", and they move back 6 inches, then they have just complied with your command. Point to a tree or crack in the sidewalk or some physical object, and tell them not to cross it. If you have time to put up crime scene tape, then use that.
- Slow compliance is still compliance. This is something that we learned from our prosecutors. They refused to file a number of cases against 1st amendment auditors because they would walk very slowly out of the area when ordered. But they were still complying with the officer's command.
- Give them a spot to film. If you demonstrate that you are respecting their right to observe and film your activity, a judge or jury will look on you with much more favor.
- Don't let them get in your face. If you are standing on a skirmish line or perimeter, you deserve at least an arm's length of personal space. A few months ago, a gangster stuck his phone in my face while my partner was arresting his buddy. I pushed him back a couple times, but he kept coming so I pointed to the ground right between us and told him not to cross that line. Then I backed up a few feet. Of course he followed me closer, crossing the line, so he went to jail. I later learned that other guys were letting him get away with it which is why he was so bold.
- An officer making an arrest is in a vulnerable position. The officer must control and care for the arrestee. The officer also has a duty to protect the arrestee. They cannot concentrate on all that and also deal with a mob. Protect your partner. Keep the bystanders back. If they assault your arrestee, you may be held liable.

- Have an idea of what constitutes a reasonable distance for keeping bystanders away. One way to do that is to check out some of the legislation that has been attempted. You also don't have to stop everything you're doing to comply with their request.
- If you know the law, you'll find yourself arguing with people less. You'll just give them a lawful order. If they don't obey, take 'em in.

I'm having stability issues with a new PC build. Specs here:
MOBO: Asrock Steel Legend B660M
GPU: PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT
CPU: Intel Core i9-12900KS
PSU: Corsair HX750c
RAM: DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB)
I've only had it put together for a couple of weeks, but about 1/3 of the time after powering up, I get a green screen of death.
It happens randomly, but most of the time it happens when I try to open a browser shortly after powering up. And usually when I begin watching something with video, Twitch in particular. But like I said, it happens randomly. Sometimes after running fine for several minutes, or an hour, or several hours. Sometimes the green screen is accompanied by a loud buzz from from the speakers. Sometimes the sound of whatever I was listening to will continue for a few seconds after the screen goes green.
When it's running, everything seems fine. I'm typing this post on it. Game-wise, I've only played Witcher 3 using this build, but when it's running, it looks better than ever for me.
One more clue - there's a screen after booting up Windows that usually shows the time and landscape images and plays the a little "I'm booted up" jingle. The one from which you can enter your password. After it first shows the landscape image for a second or two, the screen will go black, then it will go back to that Windows screen. Not sure what that's all about.
I'm not sure if I should be suspicious of any of the components, if there is some kind of incompatibility, or if I did something wrong in the build. Maybe there are GPU or MOBO features I can enable/disable that might solve this?
Now, the PSU is a part that I am re-using from my last PC where something electrical killed my old GTX 1070 GPU. So maybe that's a bad idea, but I don't know.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue are appreciated.

Its summer vacation, everyones out and having fun., enjoying their vacation.. and me? Well, I tried to have that start of my vacation last saturday with my bf and what was I greeted at the end of it? My narc parents telling me how I’m out so late (it was 10 when I got home and I wanted to go home before that but I started getting a migraine that hurt so bad), yelling me and saying how it’s dangerous outside and what I could be possibly doing for those hours outside. What do you mean? Im trying to enjoy my time outside because I cant stand being home with you people: one who bitches about our president all day as if she could do any better and knows nothing of politics, the other who seems tame at first but once he gets angry, all hell breaks loose. My mother also bitches about how people constantly do stuff wrong and I’m just one of those unfortunate people to have to hear the rambles daily. Despite her rambles, shes not perfect either; in fact shes a hoarder. A terrible hoarder, our tiny apartment is filled with her mess and Ive lived here all my life. Barely any space to walk; only to the bathroom, kitchen, bed, repeat. I organize her mess from time to time, I would love to organize the whole place and get rid of her shit that she doesnt need to finally have some space in here but god forbid I throw away some of her stuff. Containers or bottles, items such as soaps and other pointless stuff shes had for years she tells me she needs because she will need it or use some day. Mind you these things have been sitting there for as long as I remember, they will not be used. So at this point, I dont clean as much as I used to because theres no point, considering she just keeps buying more stuff every time she goes to the market or Costco. Shes just building more and more upon her hoard pile, and I dont know what to do. Nothing I say or do will make her stop, she herself doesnt acknowledge her mess. And sometimes? she bitches about me not cleaning the place, what the fuck do you mean? You did this and Im so tired. Even my narc dad acknowledges the mess shes making and she doesnt care. Speaking of these two, they fight a lot, thats another reason I dont like staying at home. Yelling and making fits in this tiny apartment for the neighbors to hear, I feel bad for my neighbors. Their fighting is never ending, and same for their constant nagging of me. They call me stupid, say I dont use my brain, when they themselves constantly ask for my help .. especially my mom. Say nothing will become of me just because I’m transferring out of a university to a community college. Reason why is because at uni, I was so lost. The stress and anxiety was getting to me, on top that I was and still am depressed, it was just not for me right now. I was 3 years in there, but still had no major I liked and just had some random major slapped on my transcript to seem like I had some idea. The reason Im transferring is because somehow, someway I still feel some sympathy for my mom. Every waking day of my life she (and my dad too but not as much as her) has pressured me to become a nurse. Despite how much I dislike the career, I’m eventually going to take it in CC. I thought to myself Ill try it at least, and if I really dont like it I can always change my major. Yet, even if my mom knows this information that Im transferring and taking what she wants, she still calls me stupid and that nothing will become of me. What? What do you mean? I’m taking what you want. Arent you happy? Why am I still treated with this unfairness. When will you be happy for me, when will you support me? Im not doing this for me, Im doing this for you, because despite how much of a terrible mom you are to me and how much hate I have for you and dad, a little bit of me still cares for you. I try to buy you and dad whatever you want with my minimum wage paycheck. I try to have fun with you guys despite you guys being the most boring people alive and never want to go anywhere. I try my very best, but Im still treated like im stupid. I try my best to like you guys, but my hate is just as greater. At my age of 21, I still have to ask them if I can go out with my friends and bf. Even then, they still dont let me hang out with them often. They have met my friends and boyfriend. The kindest, funniest, and silliest people that Ive ever met that make me the happiest. Still, my parents find a way to belittle them and say what if my friends are influencing me to take drugs or drink. My friends have never pressured me to do either, they dont even do drugs. My boyfriend who is the sweetest, makes sure I’m always taken care of when Im with him, my best friend for years. My parents say he might hurt me, treat me wrong, leave me, just want me for sex, or get me pregnant. Ive known this man for years and we have been very good friends ever since, I know he would never do these things to me. When I told him that my parents have said these horrible things, it made him upset and my heart broke. My parents are so miserable that they want to bring me and whoever makes me happy down with them. Moving out is not an option as I have no money to saved up, nobody can take me in, and if I do plan on leaving my parents will kill me. I am still depressed and I still dont know how to stay strong at times like this. This summer vacation will be a very long one.

However I have a vacation in 2 weeks around June 20, and won’t be back until August. It’ll be unprofessional if I do get hired and only worked for two weeks before asking for a six week vacation.
But I’m afraid in August this opportunity won’t be here anymore. Should I apply and tell them I have an upcoming vacation?

Just started S1 again this week. Like many have mentioned, it's so fun to go back and catch all the little Easter eggs with the knowledge of the how it will all end.
At the end of S1E3 Logan invites Kendall to dinner at the apartment just to call him a fucking moron for making the deal with Stewy - when he can barely even speak! Could this have been when he scratched Kendall's name off of the piece of paper?? He's still recovering from the stroke, so that could explain the crooked line.

At the end of S1E3 Logan invites Kendall to dinner at the apartment just to call him a fucking moron for making the deal with Stewy - when he can barely even speak! Could this have been when he scratched Kendall's name off of the piece of paper?? He's still recovering from the stroke, so that could explain the crooked line.

After a few days of migration pains (because Outlook for Windows sucks and I'm not on site with the users to help them), email seems back to normal.
Now management has determined they want everyone we just brought over to use [facebook dot com] email addresses. So far, I've added [user at facebook dot com] as an alias and confirmed users can get messages.

The reason why I as a hiring manager can't pay more, is because the higher ups strategy has worked in the past. There is no positive feedback loop.
The reason why this is the right approach, is it avoids the chicken and the egg problem. You really need to have at least 6 months of living expenses tucked away. You can't do that if you're paid below a subsistence salary, or you're incapable of downscaling your bills. I.e. you have children, family member you have to support, illness in the USA, etc.
If you are interviewing constantly, and I'm talking at least one every 2 weeks, you'd be surprised at how *good* you get at interviewing. That's a head start already. You can high ball your salary, and not give a damn about whether they want to hire you or not. You have your current employer, at least until they find out you're interviewing. If they do find out, double down. Demand more. Accept the counter offer and see if how they value you changes. If it doesn't, FBI and *leave*. *Ruthlessly*.
I got given a brilliant piece of advice earlier in my career by the CEO of a recruitment company I worked for. "Always move diagonally. You will never promoted as fast."
I took his advice and left his company! This was over 20 years ago. I bumped into him last year. He was happy I took his advice. I reflected back, and realised how many times I used his recruitment company to fill roles in mine.
Which brings me on to why do I still do it. Because relationships survive organisations. People don't leave companies, they leave their managers. Which includes constraints put upon those managers. If you're open and transparent as to why, well, relationships survive organisations. I have called people I have worked with before, and been able to bring them into my current gig just on my name alone. It's no secret weapon, it's goodwill. Something that can't be measured, and thus is forgotten. Goodwill is a fancy name for trust, which is a fancy name for this guy's not an asshole. That's my motivation, and it's served me well.
"Oh, but as a manager you'll get fired for that!". Ummm... yes. And I have been. As I personally practice what I preach, I've always got the next gig lined up. So go ahead fire me. I won't sacrifice my values for your greed. You don't want to be working for an asshole. I don't want to be an asshole. If the company requires me to be an asshole, hire someone that is naturally an asshole.
On the flip side of financial vulnerability in 2023? There are plenty of jobs paying close to minimum wage. We certainly don't want to waste that opportunity to punch back and bloody some noses. If a few people leave, it's a blip on the radar that can be conveniently hidden in a spreadsheet of doom. If it's systemic, it hits shareholders. That's when people care.
And yes, the excuses are already showing. "Oh, people don't want to work." (For below poverty level wages). "Quiet quitting is in!" (Because duh, you get what you pay for.) "There is a skills shortage!" (Because only monkeys happily work for peanuts, and eventually monkeys get sick of peanuts.)
It's time for everyone to cut the crap and get down to brass tacks. You can't assume your employer is going to do the right thing by you. Empower yourself and don't get steamrolled by a group of assholes, because you're vulnerable.
Don't be loyal to your company. *DO* be loyal to your manager. *IF* your manager is loyal to you. More than likely, they'll drag you to their next gig, because you're trusted hands and a known quantity.
*DO* work hard, give your manager the benefit of the doubt.
*STOP* working hard and actively interview if your manager is not supporting you.
This is exactly what has been deliberately removed from our employment culture. Why? Because it sure maximizes shareholder profit. But it's like buying one of those gold rings from a cheap store. They've been hollowed out, and it's just a facade. Why does nothing work today? Because things have been cheapified, and crappified to this point of breaking.
Everyone needs to push back and start having the *capability* of saying no. Sometimes in not such a polite manner.

I´ve been thinking about posting this for a while now. Throwaway account for reasons you will come to understand quite clearly. It’s gonna be a long one so pls bear with me, this is the story (history) of one of the most painful parts of my life and I could really use some help. I’ve been thinking on going no contact with my mother (60) who I will refer to as M., for a really long time now. The communication with M. has been really seldom for maybe 8 years now and I haven’t confided in her with any problems or advice in over 15y. A little back story: I (35 F) grew up in a medium class family, private schools and university, etc. I mention this because I believe its one of the reasons making me feel guilty, as if granting food, clothes, a home and education had created “debt” I will always carry with my parents, mainly because my mother constantly made my sister and I aware of that. Dad worked long hours but he was my rock through my childhood and adolescence. He passed away, did it himself a couple years ago, but that’s a story for another post. So since I can remember my mother made me responsible of caring for my sister who is 5 years younger than me. The fact that my sister has a psychiatric condition made it a little harder i believe, thou she’s not disabled or anything (she’s one of my best friends now) it was extremely challenging to be around and/or control her as a kid/ teenager. Every time my sister would make her nervous she would call me and shout and demanded I come back or handle the situation being a kid myself.
She never made me feel accepted, understood or welcomed being myself. She just showed affection the way she likes to give/receive it, not caring that I never felt comfortable with it. She would shout she hatted me, that im stupid, that she never expected a daughter like me. All this in the “heat of the moment” while she was angry. She also physically abused us (hitting us with her hands mainly). She stopped this one day that I stood up and took her wrists in my hands, preventing her punches (I was finally taller and stronger than her). That night she was angry ‘cause I wasn’t talking and my face made her nervous while dinner. she through me out and I went to my dads. I was 13 y/o.
So, to more recent events: the ones that really took me to a breaking point where two: 1, My dad was in a ver bad car crash (they were divorced since 3 years by then and we had had a fallen out, he was depressive and an alcoholic his entire life but I still loved him with all my life), this was in 2015. I was living in this other city and my dad was in the ICU so I called her and told her I was gonna come to see him and that a coworker whom I was dating (not officially) at the time offered to take me there (4hs car ride). So she proceeded to shout during more than 2hrs over the phone, the most horrible things I ever heard in my life. Stating I was not welcomed in her house with my coworker cause he was my 3rd “boyfriend” “already “and that she didn’t see the point on me risking my life in the highway for a man who didn’t even care if I was dead or alive ‘cause he refused to talk to me, that man being my dad. All of the time I was bawling my eyes out. You know when you cry so hard you have trouble breathing? 2, about two years later my dad ended himself and since they were divorced my sister and I were the solely responsible for everything. I mean I even payed for the funeral and arrange it while being in another country (holidays) while looking for ways to get back. As I mentioned before, my dad was wealthy (yes, that does not save you from being miserable) so after some months I made up my mind to sell all his properties and means of income. But I needed my sister’s approval on everything. So M. Decided to do an “intervention” on me with my sister present (who just kept staring at the floor) and shouted, on Christmas Day btw, that I was being irresponsible, a little brat who had no idea about life and that I had always been pedantic and ungrateful. Just bc she was not ok with me selling his things. I have many more things to share, but I don’t wanna make this endless for you.
M. Loves to pick fights, argue and she goes completely crazy and violent if you so much as disagree. She hates her own mom (my only grandma whom I love) and would constantly monitor me if I was visiting her. She has complete disregard of one’s feelings or opinions. I have asked her to go to a psychologist countless times, each time receiving either screams or disregards as answer. I’ve been in therapy for over a decade now and my sister for more than 3 years.
Truth is the only reasons I haven’t follow through with NC are plain guilt and the fact that I come from a country where going NC is almost none existent. Family is never questioned. So this would be completely “unexpected”. Going low contact she can disguise, but NC no.
I am certain with the years she has come to acknowledge the distance my sister and I have taken from her, but she lives in a fantasy-like alternate reality where we all love and miss each others. My sister was always her golden child, so she didn’t really care about me distancing until sister did, to be honest. But now she’s old and alone and she’s not doing well (mentally, physically she’s excellent). And all I can think of is, why do I still pick up the phone when she calls? It’s not out of love to be completely honest, it’s guilt. Guilt bc she believed she made her best, guilt bc she’s not a sane person and guilt bc if I cut contact, I’m afraid she will not really understand the motives.
