2023.06.06 04:42 settleincatan I(M24) went to go speak with my ex(F23) and saw her with another guy.
Let me start off by saying that this is a really weird story but I swear I am not a creep. It was probably the fattest L I have ever taken. My ex of 5 years and I broke up 6 months ago. I have gotten into dating and other things since then, but after therapy and self reflection, I realized that I owed her an apology. We spoke and I let her know that I was going to take her a letter to her house. When I did, I saw that she was at a park across the street with a guy laying out in the grass watching the stars. Its something that we used to do a lot. I was stunned and I literally couldn't move for like 5 minutes. She didn't know I was taking the letter at that time, so it was literally just the worst possible timing. I have no problem that she is with another guy. Obviously there is a part of me that wants her back but I expect her at this point to be with other people and I have been with my share of women since her. But that was so fucking hard to see. How do I process it? Should I tell her that I know she's dating a new guy? I cant help but laugh at how big of an L this is.

2023.06.06 04:41 IridiumViper [Thank You] Y'all make my new Monday tradition of checking the PO Box very special!
u/rennbrig - Thank you for the beautiful globe card and the stickers!! I can't stop looking at this beautiful card! I enjoyed reading about how your mother inspires you. Your relationship sounds very much like my relationship with my mother. I feel lucky to have her in my life!
u/heymorganm - Thank you so, so much for the Jane Austen postcards! Normally, I'd add these to my stash and send them in the future, but I love them so much, I think I'm going to bring them into work and use them to decorate my cubicle!
u/xinthetic - Reverse thank you! That is, thank you for your thank you card! I got the cards with the gold flowers at Michaels. I think they were meant to be used for save-the-dates. I love the stickers! They will be added to my journal, which is rapidly becoming a sticker storage device.
u/melhen16 - Thank you for your most recent card! I've really been enjoying our card exchanges :) And as always, thank you so, so much for the stickers!!
u/GizmoDOS - Thank you for the Arizona postcard! The lightning looks really cool!! I love it! I've only visited Arizona twice before, but I'd love to go back again someday!
u/DianaPenPal - Thank you thank you for the Big Ben postcard. London is one of my favorite cities in the world! I've been there a few times, but every time I've visited, the clock tower has been covered by scaffolding. My favorite places to visit are the Globe and Regent's Park (specifically the rose garden). I hope you get a chance to go back and visit again!
u/TyeDyeAmish - Thank you for the pineapple postcard! It brought a smile to my face! I think it's really admirable how you want to positively impact people's lives. I'm sure that many people on this sub would agree - you positively impact all of our lives with your fun and generous mail!
u/missnettiemoore - Thank you for the Greetings From Michigan postcard! I've been to Michigan a few times, and it seems like a really nice, friendly place to live! I hope you have a sunny, warm, and exciting summer!
u/ScoobySquads - Oh my goodness, did you look through my Goodreads account?! I am TOTALLY reading your book recommendation (Juliet). I read a LOT of Shakespeare-related nonfiction. I've been a huge Shakespeare nerd since I was 10 years old. Here's a recommendation for you: "1599: A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare" by James Shapiro. I also really enjoyed "The Marlowe Papers" by Ros Barber. She wrote the entire book in iambic pentameter from the perspective of Christopher Marlowe, and it was inspired by the theory that Marlowe faked his death and pretended to be Shakespeare. Thank you for the Aristophanes postcard!
u/Katie-kins - Thank you for the Texas cactus postcard! I recently saw some prickly pear cactus at my university's arboretum. They're gorgeous! I've only been to Texas once, about 15 years ago. I really enjoyed the trip! I hope you have a great summer!
I have one postcard without a username. It's a beautiful postcard of Lake Bled in Slovenia. I love it very much! I'm currently looking through my messages to try to find out who sent it, but if it's you, please let me know so I can post a proper thank you!

2023.06.06 04:39 savingpriv8parts Creb Track, Daintree- Dog friendly?
Hi all,
I've been trying to ascertain the route in which the Creb Track takes in relation to the National Park border.
Google maps makes it look like it doesn't cross the NP border. I'm asking as we'd like to travel through with our dog. The Creb is gazetted so technically the dog can stay inside, I believe?
Just checking what restrictions to expect if we go through the Creb to Wujal Wujal.
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.06 04:37 abbynoegg So many parking questions
hi all! my roommate and i are/have moved to rogers park off of Sheridan and Pratt and need help. i am from the chicago suburbs while he is from north west indiana so our knowledge about the city is little to none. while we are planning to take public transportation to work and school we would still like to have both our cars in the city to visit family, our partners, etc. that are outside of the city. this is where i need all the advise. our apartment does not come with parking spaces and neither of us wanna screw too much with street parking if possible. he has a Subaru Outback and i have a Ford Escape. where are some places that we can long term park that don’t cost $500? i have googled some things but i would love a perspective of people on the ground. would love a garage or somewhere where i can come and go and not have to move it as much. i am open to farther away from me if it’s cheaper cause i will be starting at my first big girl job and have a lot of student debt i need to pay off. anything helps thank you!

2023.06.06 04:36 the-frog-monarch I'm going on a secret t4t mission this week (teehee) 🏳️⚧️💗🏳️⚧️
My bf is visiting me tomorrow through Thursday but I'm not allowed to see him so I'm going out under the guise of going to the park for a few hours
Wish me luck that I don't get caught and that it doesn't rain so the person I live with doesn't question why I'm at the park in the rain
For anyone wondering, I'm not allowed to see friends or partners until I get a job (I've been looking for a while with no luck), the person I'm living with isn't homophobic or transphobic or anything, just really strict. Also worth mentioning that I'm an adult, but the person I'm living with (not my parent) has the final say in what I do because I'm only being allowed to live here under the condition that I get a job, so hopefully I can find one soon so I don't get kicked out
I'll keep y'all updated on how the dates go :)

2023.06.06 04:34 WrldBgnsAgain 35 [F4M] Manila/Anywhere - Wanna mate our inner demons and see what cute hybrids come out?
Hey, R4R30Plus! I'm MG. Here's a bit of
basic info about me and what I'm looking for I've been lurking in this subreddit for a while, but it's my first time posting. Probably won't be my last, though. I'm a strange, elusive thing, and the person I'm looking for is strange and elusive as well. I'm hoping he's here right now, but if not, I'm okay with sticking around and trying again for as long as it takes.
Before anything else, I have to say I'm living with my mom who has cancer, so I'm not going to be moving anywhere soon. She's currently doing okay and I'm hoping to keep her going for more than 5 years, but I'm trying to get this whole dating thing rolling now because time's really creeping up on me, you know? The other day, I accidentally startled myself awake by smacking my arm against my lips and I woke up thinking, "Whoa, that flesh is
not as supple as it used to be!"
I figure if I ever want to have meaningful, passionate, and loving sex while my breasts still have a bit of lift to them, I should take the plunge and look for someone right now.
Anyway. Here's my first pitch!
In the fantasy world I'm writing about, the people of a certain religion used to believe that everyone has several spiritual creatures living inside them. There's a funny, little monster coiled at the base of your spine (connecting you to the earth), an entirely different creature crouched on the crown of your head (connecting you to the sky), and five others frolicking about in between.
This mental construct was supposed to help the believers understand that even though each of them feels like their Self is a single, discrete whole, the truth is that every person consists of multitudes. People are complex, contradictory. For these ancient folks, the process of becoming fully human was to discover and name all of these inner beasts, and eventually come to understand their personal humanity in terms of being both a single organism
and an emergent ecosystem.
Nowadays, that metaphor has fallen out of fashion. (Evil mage. Hive mind. Long story.) But traces of it still remain in local rituals, particularly in marriage.
For example, many wedding ceremonies still have some version of "circuit binding". Each person to be married would be fitted with a circlet, with a fine chain attached to the back of it and dangling all the way down to the tailbone. Depending on the couple's wealth and status, there would be seven jewels or polished pebbles or papier-mâché flowers set in intervals along the chain, each with a ribbon fixed to it.
The jewels or flowers symbolize the couple's inner creatures. The ribbons symbolize vulnerability -- a reaching outward into the void hoping that something friendly would reach out back.
After the vows are said, the couple's friends and family would help them tie the ribbons together one by one: crown to crown, mind to mind, throat to throat, heart to heart, and so on. In this way, they're saying that this marriage is not just between one person to another. It's the marriage of the inner menageries as well.
If the heart-beast in one fails and becomes fearful and sad and filled with resentment against the world, then the heart in the other would move to cover that one with its wings, to compensate for the other's weakness until it's well again. If the mind-beast in one is just not very good at planning or remembering birthdays, then its counterpart would step in and handle that aspect of their lives. And sometimes, there would be just that simple, ecstatic union: instant recognition and welcome, like a golden retriever meeting a toy poodle at a park and realizing that no matter how different the other one looks, they're the same kind after all.
Basically, the two inner worlds would flow into each other -- filling each other's gaps or amplifying each other's strengths -- creating a circuit of spiritual power that's greater than either of them could manage on their own.
And I wrote all of that, not just because I wanted to give everyone a live performance demonstrating why I'm a childless, never-married woman at 35, but also because this does reflect my own personal philosophy when it comes to personhood and relationships. I do believe that each of us contains multitudes. Many of us are infested with inchoate, inner beasts, whose names we do not yet know. And while parts of us will enthusiastically roll around in the dog park together, other bits of us might not play well at all. But we somehow have to figure out how to make it all work.
Anyway, if you're a single/divorced and kind man who would enjoy discussing how we could mate what's essentially our chakra Pokémon* or other such weird things, send me an email. I will not reply to any comments, chats, or DMs here on Reddit. I do appreciate people who are not romantically interested but still want to leave kind comments, so I'll thank you in advance here. I see your good vibes and I'm sending them back your way.
But if you
are interested in starting a relationship, please send me an email. Preferably with a picture of you and as much info as you're comfortable sharing. In terms of physical attraction, I'd prefer a man in his 30s-50s, taller than me (5'3 and up), who's at least somewhat active (would love to have a walking buddy someday). Also, I like dad bods. <3 Teddy bear cuddles!
My email address is not-so-cleverly hidden in the slideshow in my profile. And I know, I know, it's a lot of extra steps. But my ideal person would enjoy having tons of information about me, because I'd also like to know tons of information about them. (If I like you, I will attempt to read all your blog posts or look at all your pics, etc.) (And no, while I might sound like one, I am not a large language model hoovering up data from all over the internet in order to simulate human speech. But I
am on the autism spectrum, which makes me similar. That said, I've devoted the past eight years to learning human empathy and manually building structures of kindness into my brain. Some might consider this state, er, unemployed, but it's important and difficult work that a lot of people neglect to do. I can bring value to your life, just not financially.) (And just so it's clear, I am not going to ask for money from you if we're just dating or in an LDR. Unless you want to hire me to make a dating slideshow for you or something lol)
Even if you don't decide to email me, as long as you've made it to the end, I sincerely thank you for reading through this! You must be a person of great culture and taste. XD I hope you find the one for you soon.
.
\Unfortunately, I've never watched Pokémon, I just have a vague idea from all the bits that have percolated into general culture. (My own formative childhood anime was Akazukin Cha Cha, which is like a dollar store Sailor Moon. ^^; I have the worst taste in anime.))

2023.06.06 04:32 Kind_Ordinary_8959 Confusion around Mortgage with Offset account
Here's my situation: I have a 30-yr home mortgage of $730,000. It is a variable rate home loan, with a current interest rate of 5.7%. It has an offset facility, and my partner and I currently pay approximately $4200 in monthly repayments for principle and interest.
If I transferred $730,000 of my own money into the offset account (which is currently in term deposits earning an average of 4%, as the defensive part of my portfolio), what would my monthly repayments be? After speaking to my accountant, I was under the belief that I would effectively owe zero if I covered the owing amount in the offset, and would not have to make any monthly payments at all - I could park the money there for 30 years. My partner would then pay her share of the mortgage to me, so that I was still earning some kind of income off the money. In 30 years I pay it off, when $730k is worth much less than today.
However, I spoke to the bank, and they said that I would still have to make the monthly payments exactly the same as now ($4200), but it would pay off the principle instead of principle and interest.
Is this accurate? I could have sworn my accountant said I wouldn't have to make any repayments, so I'm waiting for clarification from her - though she's going to handball it to a FA to answer this as part of a SOA for $5k. I just want clarity on this one thing, so thought I'd ask you guys. I'm assuming the bank is correct... but you never know!

So my issues are (1) that the car shakes when in reverse or drive and sometimes jerks getting off the line from a dead stop, once moving there’s no shaking or jerking, I am really hoping it’s mototrans mounts and not the trans going out the window. The engine DOES shake a lot in park but not enough to feel in the cabin. Additionally, (2) the engine randomly jumps in rpm? and especially when shifting out of gear like into park or neutral from drive. Probably to about 2k rpm. Lastly, (3) I was pulling my plugs when i noticed a decent amount of oil in the plug wells and from what I could tell there wasn’t any in the cylinder that I could see and no external leaks. I am venturing to guess that the o-ring seals are to blame and that I should do a valve cover gasket and new o-rings. Sorry if this is just a wordy mess but I REALLY need this car and I’m sure my mechanic will charge me out the ass.

2023.06.06 04:29 xxivtitos Called the cops on a mom in the park today and I feel terrible
Today, my husband and I took our toddler and newborn to a park. This is a nice park in a nice area, and I was happy to see another toddler on the playground when we were walking over. As we got closer, there were little things that seemed off with the mom that was there with her two sons (7ish and 3ish).
This woman was kind of just all over the place and overwhelmed, which fine, who doesn’t get overwhelmed from time to time? But, she was a bit beyond what you’d see normally and her kids were pretty unruly. For one, she was vaping while watching her kids which kind of annoyed me because it’s a no smoking (of any kind) park, but I didn’t want to say anything as long as she didn’t vape near my kids. Then I saw it, a big 1.5L bottle of wine next to her on the bench.
I couldn’t believe it. I saw her twist off the cap and she started taking swigs out of this bottle, and I genuinely thought I might be on “What Would You Do?” because of how over the top the situation was. At one point, her older son was leaning against her while he was playing on her phone and sucking on his pacifier, big vape cloud over them, and she was gulping from her wine bottle.
I wanted to go up to her and start conversation and attempt to talk her out of what she was doing, but I couldn’t do it. I didn’t know how she’d take a stranger trying to talk her out of drinking and driving her kids around. I didn’t know if she might have a gun in her car. My husband wanted to leave but I couldn’t leave those babies in her care and not do anything, so I called the police.
We stuck around the area until they got there, and I appreciated that a woman officer was the first to arrive to talk with her. I didn’t stick around to see what happened, but I just felt for those kids. I’m sure it’s embarrassing especially for the older one to have the police speaking to your mom when you just want to play, but I wasn’t leaving them there without doing something.
