So, bit of background:
My[M25] Gf[F25] has a close male friend she went to college with. I’ve never met him; all I know is they know each other from school and he now lives in another city. A few months ago, he came to town so my gf and him could get tattoo’s together, and hang out for a few days. Now fast forward to present; he invited her to his house warming party for his new house in the other city and to stay for a few days. I’m slowly starting to feel weird about it. Theres a lot of discussion in here about whats happening now and how we got here, but what im curious about: where will we go from here? The current paradigm seems unstable: I doubt it can hold long-term
we previously had a stable situation (enfored monogamy, patrichal rule), but If that ones out of fashion, whats likely to be a new stable paradigm?
One possibility i keep seeing brought up is that there will be a major, radical shift in society, restructuring things entirely so that the issues mentioned become entirely irrelevant. For example

• Global warming gets us. Or AGI, or idk, apocalypse of your choice. seems eternally popular, despite historical disappointment
  
• Incels go through with their revolution. Gilead, but cheetos-dustier. "Foid" now legal terminology
  
• Feminists get us, everyone is required to worship the matriarchy. unneeded males too busy working in mines to worry about being unwanted
  
• Earth invaded by horny martian catgirls, everyone rejoices until they start to lay their eggs in our brains
  

The other possibility, i think, is that the current general state of society continues (capitalist democracy with at least a nominal interest in free speech and legal equality), while a bunch of small changes occur to release some of the pressure.
Some things which may or may not happen, some more likely than others:

• Increase in male incarceration, and/or starting wars to lower the number of extra males
  
• mass movement of females from poor regions to be partners of males from rich regions
  
• increase in incel or radical male groups, probably more violence/attacks from those groups
  
• restricted access to birth control/abortion, making casual sex less appealing to females
  
• decrease in support (socially, legally) for single women, particularly single mothers. ie. welfare, child support or gender as a protected class. increasing the advantages of a commited relationship
  
• prostitution becomes more common/ socially acceptable
  
• lgbt or other non-straight relationships become more common/ socially acceptable, among those who are able to choose that option
  
• non-human companionship becomes more common/ socially acceptable. tech will only improve here.
  
• social backlash pushing people towards monogamous relationships. likely helped by disillusionment among females who did not have good results from current norms
  
• more males "checking out", choosing less demanding careers, cheaper lifestyles and not attempting to pursue females.
  
• movement to create male spaces, male-only groups, etc. Adress loneliness issue even if romantic prospects remain poor
  
• religious/social pressure towards traditional gender roles, and rise of religious groups ie mormon, muslim. likely rise of conservatism in general and backlash towards lgbt people

My partner and I (39M/37F) have been together 5yrs. He's a very outgoing person with tons of casual friends, whereas I'm mostly a homebody. He spends quite a bit of time without me in social situations (i.e. bars and parties) with women I don't know-- I'm not a jealous person, but admittedly it did take some getting used to.
Most people will tell you my BF is one of the nicest people they know, and he prides himself on being the kind of guy who would drop everything to help someone in need. He was raised by a single mom with 2 younger sisters, has a teenage daughter, and considers himself a feminist. His dad was a cheater and he resented him for it. He's never cheated on a partner himself, I've never heard him talk about women in an objectifying way, he was married before me but the divorce was amicable, he's sexually respectful and generous, etc.
Right before the pandemic he started mentioning a woman (let's call her P) that he'd met through other friends. He started Zooming with P and 4-5 of their mutual friends a few times a week-- it caught my attention because, like I said, he's a social butterfly who's never had one defined friend group. Then when COVID calmed down he began hanging out with these folks regularly. They'd always invite me out but I'd decline (I rarely drink and have a demanding job with a tight schedule), so it was quite a while before I met any of them in person.
I was curious about them, though, and P in particular because he brought her up in conversation a lot. So I did some online investigating, and I was kinda dismayed to see that P was model-gorgeous. I don't think there's a girl alive who wouldn't feel a little threatened by someone THAT attractive spending a lot of time around their BF. They even occasionally hung out just the two of them and I wasn't thrilled about it, but I didn't want to come off as possessive. She came over to our house a few times and seemed nice enough (though we didn't really "click" as friends and she seemed a bit narcissistic and stuck-up).
Eventually he was spending most of his free time with that one group-- traveling hundreds of miles, spending lots of money, taking time off work, staying out all night, even giving up his weekends with his daughter if there was some event they'd invited him to. He was attaching himself to that group of people in a way I'd never seen him do before-- and of course, P was always present at every gathering he attended.
But here's the thing. My BF and I aren't hideous or anything, and of course I find him attractive, but objectively we're both kinda average looking. Put simply, I doubt a girl like P would give my BF a 2nd look in a romantic context, and knowing that made me feel more comfortable about the amount of time they spent together. Also, if there was anything going on I figured my BF wouldn't be inviting her over and encouraging us to be friends. So it was hard to be 100% okay with their relationship, but I tried not to let it get to me.
A couple months back we got into the first fight over her. He does photography on the side, and apparantly P asked him to do a photoshoot of her in some costume she'd bought. So my BF-- who has never in our entire relationship suggested doing a photoshoot with me-- went out and bought expensive equipment, spent all day taking hundreds of pictures of her at her house-- and lo and behold, the costume turned out to be pretty risqué. When I saw the pictures (which, to be fair, he showed me unprompted), I started crying. He got mad and said I was letting my jealousy damage our relationship, he was insulted I'd even think he was that kind of guy, etc. I ended up feeling guilty and didn't bring it up again.
Then on Tuesday a dangerous storm passed through our area. He had plans that night with P and a few other people to bar-hop in a city about 25 miles away, but the news was warning people to stay off the roads. Just as he was getting ready to leave we found out that a big rig had literally overturned on the freeway and traffic was backed up for miles. They also warned of possible power outages in our neighborhood, and I have PTSD so I panic easily.
I asked him to stay, but he seemed annoyed and drove off without even telling me what time he'd be back. Later he texted that he'd "probably be home in a few hours", and then turned off his phone because he said I was "spamming" him. I spent the rest of the night alone and terrified of the power going off while 60 mph winds battered our house. He got back at 2:30am (and I made him a nice little bed on the couch because I was so pissed off). Woke up the next day to read that 5 people were killed by falling trees in our area and more were killed in car accidents-- he literally risked his life so he could go hang out with P.
Today I did another social media deep dive and realized he's been liking her selfies-- and pretty much ONLY her selfies, not any of her other photos-- since they met, and he interacts far more with her online than he does with any of his other "friends" in the group. That was the final straw, and I could no longer pretend that there wasn't anything weird about this.
It seems clear that he's got feelings for her, feelings that probably aren't reciprocated, but I can't help but wonder if he's even aware of it. His identity is wrapped up in this idea of himself as a "good guy" and champion of women-- I'm not sure his guilt would allow him to acknowledge the obvious to himself. In his mind, only a toxic asshole alpha male would chase after a hot girl when he's got a partner at home. He's never made any attempt to hide or sneak around where she's concerned, and they've both made it clear that I'm welcome in their social circle.
That's not the behavior of someone who's actively pursuing her, right? But at the same time, his behavior is pretty clearly the behavior of someone who's enamored with her. I wish I could tell him that I don't want him spending so much time with her, or at least stop hanging out with her one-on-one, but I know if I do that he'll just get upset and say I'm being possessive. Is that unreasonable? Am I in denial about what's really going on?
Please help. This is driving a wedge between us and I don't know what to do about it.

Hi there! I want to share my experience with a new medication called Wegovy. I'm a 47-year-old male, standing tall at 5'11. I've been taking Wegovy for 15 weeks now, and in just two weeks, I'll be taking my first dose of 2.0 mg.
I've noticed that a lot of people tend to post about their experiences with Wegovy during their first few weeks, before the medicine has fully activated. So, I wanted to share my reactions and observations with you.
From the beginning, I've been tolerating the medication fine. I'm currently on week three of the 1.0 mg dose, and I've experienced very few negative side effects. The occasional nauseous feeling and constipation have been easily solved by eating less and taking Miralax every couple of days. It's really no big deal.
But the real magic of Wegovy started happening in week three, even when I was still on the .25 mg dose. The medication takes away my hunger and desire for sweet foods, and it leveled out my blood sugar so that I went from being a type 2 diabetic to having no diabetes at all. Diabetes is fully recoverable when losing enough weight and eating the right diet according to my Dr. Other physical maladies have disappeared like sleep apnea, snoring, day time sleepiness and being short of breath often. Clothes are fitting much better. In fact, I went from a size 46 jeans waist to a size 36-38 jeans waist, XXXL shirt size to XL shirt size and look quite different from just 3 months ago. In fact, I don’t really weigh myself that often. Instead I measure success based on how I look in the mirror and how clothes are fitting.
To aid the medication's effects, I've been following the keto diet, basically low carb, with daily apple slices. I eat every few hours and take a daily walk on the treadmill at a slow pace for 30-45 minutes.
My diet is high protein and very low carb where I don’t really pay attention to fat. I used to be much more active when I was in shape, doing boot camp and CrossFit every week, just four years ago before the pandemic. But the pandemic caused my weight to skyrocket to 335 lbs as of January 1, 2023.
However, I'm proud to say that today, I weigh 275 lbs, down 65 lbs. And Wegovy played a significant role in helping me achieve this weight loss. It handles my blood sugar and fullness, but I also give credit to the keto diet and daily walking. My goal is to get back to an athletically fit weight of 180-185 lbs, where I can do CrossFit and boot camp again. It's within reach, but I still have a lot of work to do. Once my weight hits 235 lbs, I’ll start running. I used to be a very active runner, competing in 5k and 10k races.
In closing, I hope that my experience with Wegovy inspires others who may be struggling with their weight or blood sugar levels. And if anyone has any questions or problems, feel free to ask. I'm happy to share my journey and offer any advice I can. Others, please chime in where you can contribute.

I. For starters the channel was most likely Nickelodeon. That is the channel I was watching 80% of the time in the time frame of 2009-2012 (with 2010 being an estimate), in which I would have been 10-11 years old or something.
II. It is possible the advertisement was unique to a certain region in Massachusetts/New Hampshire. I say this because the commercial seemed something of a low-quality casual production, did not seem to me like it would be a national or international advertisement. This is just an assumption I've made however and could be wrong.
III. The commercial consisted of a very calming and soothing acoustic guitar-led folk song with a male vocalist, some xylophones and such, that played continuously while a collage of "oddly satisfying" video footage played. The only scene I remember is a sped-up video of grass growing, thrown amidst other such clips that I think were most likely stock footage.
IV. At the end I believe there was a brief description of whatever company was being advertised with an unseen voiceover narration.
Here is a recreation of the song that plays in the commercial. I made this mock-up using GarageBand.
