Let me preface this: I still haven't listened to the new album. But holy shit, this is the most "discourse" I've ever seen around this band.
I was quite a big fan of A7X back in the days of City of Evil and the self-titled album, which seemed like their peak of relevance. I really enjoyed Nightmare, but felt that with the passing of The Rev, the heart of the band was essentially gone, and I thought they'd just pump out a few more albums over the course of several years and quietly fade into metal obscurity.
Hail to the King definitely felt like I was right on the money in my assessment: super mediocre, phoned-in album that couldn't even sniff the creativity or passion of the preceding records. The Stage was a definite change of pace, but even with its prog-ish tendencies it still felt relatively by-the-numbers. "If this doesn't get fans talking," I foolishly thought, "surely the days of A7X discourse are behind us."
And then came Life Is But A Dream.
It's like people are losing their minds, not just over the album, but over everyone's reaction to the album. It makes me think of a line from Bo Burnham: "The backlash to the backlash to the thing that's just begun." (Probably some irony here since I'm also reacting in turn, but alas...) I mean, it's been out for five fucking days as of me writing this, and my YouTube feed is filled with "gUyS i JuSt LiStEnEd To ThE nEw A7X aLbUm AnD gUeSs WhAt?!?"
When did people start caring so much about A7X to get so caught up in the review frenzy of an album that, apparently, appeals neither to the mainstream nor to metalheads? Should I listen to the album and see what the hype is about myself? Is it just a weird, spontaneous feedback loop?

I love the basic plot of Storm King's Thunder. Giants are running wild. The players have to figure out why and how to stop them.
I'm not crazy about the literal Deux Ex Machina aspect that begins in Chapter 4. Harshnag shows up and says we need to go to the Eye, the Eye has another quest, then the Eye says you need to go to Maelstrom had figure out what happened to Hekataon.
What I'd like is a better way of letting the players discover that they have to eventually visit the Hold of the Storm Giants and then search for Hekaton.
Further on, I'm not even sure how the players are supposed to figure out that they need to hunt down Iymrith. So any suggestions on that would be very welcome also.
Basically, help me save this adventure from the weird railroad built into it after the huge sandbox of the first three chapters.

Today I was reading a biography of William IV, King of the UK and came across this curious passage. The passage is describing an instance in 1834 when the King asked the prime minister, Lord Melbourne, to send letters proposing a coalition to opposition leaders.
Melbourne “went through the motions, as directed, but if ever a question was prefixed by the celebrated ‘num’ - expecting the answer no- it was to be found in the invitations[…]”
I searched for this on Google but any meaningful inquiries are obscured by webpages about numeral prefixes. Does anybody have any insight on this curious phrase? Thanks everybody!

If you don’t have AC at home, you can use an electric fan to cool a room by placing it at a distance (as opposed to being close to) from a doorway or window. By doing so, you draw more warm air out of the space you’re in and makes it more bearable. Stay cool out there folks!

The survey, which began on April 6th, uses controlled-source audio-frequency magnetotellurics (CSAMT) technology to map subsurface electrical conductivity. This information will be used to identify potential gold-bearing structures.
KALO is also awaiting samples from a recent bulk leach extractable gold (BLEG) sampling program. BLEG is a method of extracting gold from soil and rock samples using a dilute solution of cyanide. Yesterday's Update

No tldr. I'm sorry. I don't even know how I would begin to whittle it down to a tldr. I appreciate your compassion and time for taking time to read it all.
Preface: I am unable to bring him to the vet as of right now, because lack of funds, as my original cat had babies(his litter mates) and my plan is to find other homes for them, so it was never my intention to actively need to take care of more than two cats. Although because of this I am going to plan on saving a cat everybody find on top of a regular emergency fund(ADHD, everything is planned but I'm not there yet). So I really just need ideas of what might be going on. I completely understand that because there is no physical examination, I won't get the 100% correct answer, but if there's anything I can do to rule out something, that's what I'm after. I know generally one should just bring them into the vet right away, I don't need that sort of comment. (But again, if it could possibly be very bad, with an explanation why, I think my family will help me, so if you think it's bad or could turn really bad and I should bring him to a vet, that I'll accept)
Also, if it does seem serious enough, I believe I can talk one of my siblings to help pay for the vet if needed. Right now his symptoms have remained the same since it started, so on the outside nothing has gotten worse. But I understand cats don't show pain and things could be at work under the surface.
I have a 3 month old boy and he's so cuddly and loves to chase stray flys that randomly always seem to get in. It's entertainment for them so I don't necessarily mind the random fly or three.
However, in the past week, he's started to develop a cough. It sounds pretty dry, and it's not all the time. He might go for an hour or two(sleeping and/or awake) just fine and then sometimes it's just like a throat clearing sound like one or two, almost even like a hiccup but cough sound, and sometimes he sits for 30 seconds like he's about to spit up a hairball, but doesn't.
During these 30 second attacks, he tries to keep his head low and his butt up, as if something is going to come out... But I've checked and I haven't found any fluid on carpets or counters where he's coughed, or hair. I keep thinking it's like post nasal drip, or the cat version, and he only coughs until he doesn't feel it in his throat anymore and he can swallow it comfortably. it's pretty random when it happens, as in it's not just after he eats or when he wakes up, or if he plays for a bit. It doesn't seem to have a pattern, only that it happens.
He does play, he runs around, he chases the other cats and roughhouses. I've noticed he started to sleep away from the other cats in seclusion(my anxiety had me crying because of cats and separating themselves and what that could mean) but maybe he's just trying to get actual restful sleep... If I lay down next to him for support he tends to leave as if he's been bothered. So it's really only when he's trying to rest that he secludes himself.
While he was sleeping, his respiratory rate was about 20 a minute, which seems to be right on par with normal, at least from the limited research I've done. From what I can tell his gums look fine, no purples or blues. I don't know if it's true that a dry nose means sickness, but his nose has been moist everytime i check.
And then here comes in the environmental changes that's happened in the past week(about the same time his cough started):.
-my AC has been running pretty consistently, I usually do half AC and then turn it off and open windows, but it's been way too hot and humid. I want to do a deep clean of my AC, and today has been decent so I have the windows open. But to soon to make an difference if that is the problem. I'm going to try no AC tomorrow as well.
-i recently was donated a half bag of cat food from someone who's cat didn't like it, but it turned out to be the exact type of cat food I typically buy... Sam's Club Meow Mix Blend. The past couple of bags of cat food I've just been getting the regular meow mix. I have been slowly adding a cup or two of the "new" stuff to help transition, probably reaching about 50/50 when he started coughing, but that's just a guess. The bag was half full, and was only tied at the top by the plastic pull thing at the top oof the bag. I do not know how it was stored, but the other cats aren't having a reaction to it.
-i got a mattress from a friend, who had two cats and a dog.. that I haven't put sheets on yet(thanks ADHD) so I was thinking maybe there's a potential allergy? I have a mattress cover for it so I put that on it and will be putting sheets on it once I wash them.
Besides that, I did have friend over who I let smoke in the house for a couple of days straight when he visited(I only vape). I've decided to not have him smoke inside anymore, and I'm trying to cut my vaping down inside to only when I have my fan blowing out the window(it's right by my head basically) and even then I'm trying to go outside more.
Should I be concerned? Wait no... How concerned should I be? I feel like I can get help from a family member of it worsens or maybe even if it sounds like it could be bad or potentially pretty bad before it worsens. I haven't noticed teary eyes or nose crusties. Literally just the cough.
I'm sorry for the long post, my Reassurance OCD is kicking in, and my general anxiety that makes me lost anything that might help kicked in as well.
Again, I understand that reddit can't diagnose, I'm only looking for for advice on what I can do, what it might/could be. And please, don't worry about my anxieties and OCD when you're replying. OCD might not be logical sometimes, but I still can be and I understand that these will be guesses/educated guesses and not certainties.

Hello All, I was in a relationship with my girlfriend for 1 year and 8 months . She was pressuring me for marriage and kids since we met but I was I no rush because I only have entry level experience which to me is not enough to provide for a family.
I worked many dead end tech jobs, with no raises and no advancement despite my degree, certifications and requests for advancement. Whenever I ask to shadow or observe something advanced, the hire ups would deny me. every time I switched jobs I started from ground zero...…. EVERYTIME!!
She didn't see the value of marriage in her 20's despite her moms encouragement. Now she in her mid 30's and says time is against her especially for kids. I wasn't against it I simply wanted to have a Secured career with advancement or specialization to better provide for everyone and not live paycheck to paycheck or work a second job to make ends meet. Her mom unfortunately passed away, which was really hard and she and her family moved down south because everything reminded them of her mom. I agree after 1 month of moving things went down hill.
She started to get bitter and impatient with me, yelling at me and talking down and making all sort of accusations and indirect threats. Then the excuses started, the distance between us is causing issues, then, we are always arguing and bickering because "we're" not happy, She cant do or say anything without me finding a problem with it and the list goes on....
So we broke up after 20 months for the final time and the reason now is …. I never wanted her. There is no convincing her otherwise and I decided to stop trying and accepted the reality.
My question is, Was I wrong to prioritize Career & financial security before marriage and kids? If you been in a similar situation please share your advice. Thanks (You must have "tl;dr" somewhere in your post body. )

It happened with The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, Season of Arrivals, etc.
These events each made the world of Destiny feel so much more alive and like things were coming to a head.
Needless to say, The Final Shape needs things like this happening in our patrol zones. If you ask me, Lightfall should’ve added Shadow Legion / Pyramid tech to multiple zones but oh well.
Hopefully this feedback is popular, bc I’d love to see the game feel more lively week by week again in tandem with the events taking place within the story.

I’m referring to the King of the Fist suit and the new all white suit. I personally love them. I never even considered an all white suit on DD before but now it might be my favorite, although he’s definitely losing it if he escapes Hell.
