2023.05.30 20:05 Fit_b21 Job search
Hi all! I am a 28yo F and currently looking for a new job. I have 1 year experience in pain management. I would really like to expand my knowledge base and looking for a family or internal medicine job. Open to women’ health as well. Does anyone have any leads for the Greenville SC or surrounding area? I’ve tried indeed and a couple other job sites, even tried LinkedIn. I have 1 interview coming up but don’t want to put all my hope into that. Any tips are helpful. Thank you! ☺️

2023.05.30 15:31 SpecialistFact9067 Life after LA school? Smaller local firms vs Big city firms?
Hey guys, super interested in Landscape Architecture. I'm about to finish my undergrad in International Affairs and I just discovered the field of LA, and it instantly jumped out to me. I'm looking at several masters programs. I've always loved the idea of designing outdoor spaces combining elements of architecture/engineering, the environment, and the creative artistic factor. I've been reading a lot about careers post graduation, and I was wondering if there were any different perspectives out there.
I hear a lot about people and graduating and moving into these huge LA design firms, working 50+ hour work weeks living in bigger cities. I'd be willing to work somewhere like that for a year or two to gain experience, however I grew up in a smaller city in the mountains, and would like to settle somewhere in a similar place. (Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, Chattanooga or Knoxville, TN, or even Pacific North West, etc....) I wonder about anyone who owns or works at firms in smaller cities, thus smaller more personal firms and what that looks like. When looking at jobs the traditional way, like scrolling through Indeed for hours, most job openings seem to be in only major cities. I just don't want to necessarily work in a large corporate firm for the rest of my life, and I don't necessarily want to live in only larger cities. (I love living near the mountains and enjoy activities like kayaking, hiking, camping) So I'd like to hear about peoples different firms, locations they live and work at (not restricted to only places in the mountains), what kinda stuff they work on, work life balance and family life, salaries, etc... Honestly anything helps really, this stuff seems so cool to me, however I tend to overthink and be over controlling of what my future looks like. But anything would be a great help in learning more about this super cool field!! Thanks!!

2023.05.29 20:22 Worldly_Deal_3064 9-5 jobs with decent pay ($16/18+)?
I’ve (25f) got SOME college under my belt, but I’ve worked in customer service since I was 15 and I know I’m a good worker. I’m outgoing and always very friendly and cooperative. I do have a part time job rn and I love it, but I’m not getting the hours I was promised and I’m really really struggling. Everything is due all at once and I can’t even buy food or gas without making some sort of sacrifice (rent). Please help :(
Also is it me? Am I doing something wrong? I’ve updated my resume a few times to make sure it looks nice and pretty for these people, but maybe it’s just a sign of the times. Idk. I’m tired lol.
EDIT: For context, my fiancé and I are planning on moving back to Greenville, SC so we can actually have a nice life and not pay an arm and a leg for rent. Our lease is up in October. Im going to beautician school in November. I just need to find a job that will pay enough so we can get tf out of here. I won’t tell that to potential employers of course, but our quality of life is suffering because of the cost of living here.

I initially planned on applying to the 40 schools listed below. However, I need to take some off the list due to a major unexpected cost that came up (I won’t go into the details) and I was wondering if you guys could give me some input on which schools would be least likely to take me? My EC’s are pretty solid, sGPA 3.73 and cGPA 3.84, 512, UT resident. Thank you in advance for the help!

2023.05.28 20:24 NextLevelNaps Books of discontinued fabric sample books: how to recycle or donate
If this isn't the correct place for this post, please let me know and tell me where I can post it because I don't like filling landfills if I can help it: My MIL is an interior designer and has HUNDREDS of fabric samples books that are discontinued lines from brands. Mainly upholstery fabrics for curtains, cushion covers, etc. Various materials, some natural some synthetic. They're taking up so much space in the house and just piling up. The designers don't want them back and now we're stuck with them. My question is twofold:
- Is anyone interested in them? I will gladly send them off, just PM me and pay shipping. I'm not kidding when I say there are HUNDREDS.
- If these are not useful to anyone currently, does anyone know how I can donate/recycle them in such a way that can help keep them out of a landfill? I personally can't use them for anything of mine. I live in Greenville SC and will drive up to an hour to drop them off or will ship them off if the cost is reasonable. I know we have a donation based craft shop called ReCraft that has taken some off us before, but I really don't know that they want the billion and one we currently have on hand.....I'd call and ask but they're currently moving and won't open again till Mid-June. I'll ask them then if we still have them by then.
Any help appreciated on this. Again, if this is not the appropriate place for this post, please let me know and direct me to where is appropriate so I can keep these things out of the dump as much as possible.

2023.05.28 15:55 Tayler_Made Return Required
| I’m trying to make sure I understand this kind of order. This gig has a built in “Return Required”, with two stops. So the pay for the round trip is only $17.22? Or is it paid $17.22 each way? If it’s $17.22 total, then it’s best to let it sit until the pay increases. If it’s $17.22 each way, then that’s a decent payout, right? submitted by Tayler_Made to Roadie [link] [comments] |
2023.05.28 15:05 Plane_Fix6129 Good book clubs, coffee spots, hiking clubs this subreddit would personally recommend?
Hello, I am a super introverted woman, early 20s, native to Upstate SC, I live in Greenville now. I am looking to make close female friends. I like reading, studying, and hiking. I've looked at Meetup.com listings and book clubs here (especially the book clubs and the baking events at M.Judson).
I figured I would ask the subreddit for more suggestions. I am not very good at making friends, but I need to put myself out there. I was even considering going to a coffee shop (Coffee Underground, Methodical?) every weekend, but I don't know if that would lead to anything. Thanks

2023.05.28 08:45 SecureNinja97 Why doesn’t my grandparent’s ancestors come up in my communities?
| So as we all are aware, we have 4 biological grandparents. 2 of my grandparents are from Northwestern North Carolina, and 1 is from East central North Carolina, which all adds up in my communities. As for my grandfather, he is from Northwestern South Carolina and has lineage all over South Carolina and Georgia, but it has never comes up in my communities. What also confuses me, is my second cousin (my grandfathers brothers daughter), has communities spanning all over South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, but we don’t have a single community in common. Is it possible that this was just a simple mistake? I’m very confused and it’s not like I can reach out to someone from Ancestry for answers. Here is a picture of my communities, along with my cousin and my communities. I would greatly appreciate any help or insight into this! submitted by SecureNinja97 to AncestryDNA [link] [comments] |
