I have 3 easy legal questions.
2023.03.24 06:10 CryoChamber10 I have 3 easy legal questions.
Hi, I have 3 easy legal questions. I just want some more perscpetive on this and advice.
- I used a fake utility bill to provide a proof of residnce for my free checkings account. I didn't defraud or steal or take a loan out from the bank. I only used the bank account to receive money from my jobs and cash out at ATMs. I'm in San Diego CA. What is the possible legal consequence of this? Can someone provide me with other cases which are exactly like mine (fake proof of residence, but not to defraud the bank)? I feel like I may get arrested soon and wish I could make it right.
- I want to grow a small amount of shrooms here in San Diego. If I'm caught, what is the exact punishment a judge would convict me with?
I've read the law that says its illegal (manufacturing a schedle 1 controlled substance), but I want to know what the actual sentencing results will be?
I don't have any prior arrests, first time offence, no intent to distribute or sell the shrooms, or transport them, just a small amount for personal use, no guns or minors in apartment, etc.
- I bought Bitcoin and sold it back to the Coinbase platform about 7 days after buying the BTC. I got a new phone number and email and have tried every day for weeks, calling in several times a day to get the exact days and prices I bought/sold BTC for. Customer support is unable to or cannot help me recover my account. So how do I report my bitcoin taxable event to the IRS?
I just bought $100 BTC, and sold it 7 days later, I didn't even make like $5, I might have even lost money in the process, so I'm not trying to launder untaxed millions here like the politions do. So basically I can't report on my BTC sale because I don't have the info to do so, and the customer support will not help me because I don't have access to my old account. What should I do?
What exactly should I expect for these 3 cases? Thanks!

My girlfriend added me on one of her TD credit card as a authorized user, she then went to apply for another credit card at BMO so she could add me, she ended up being approved for 7000$ she added me to the card it cost 50$ extra only to realize that none of the banks are reporting the authorized user to the credit bureau so it wont even help me and she got another credit card for nothing

2023.03.24 05:43 welpimtired i have no future. what's the point of living?
16f soon to be 17. mom's a schizo, dad's not present, parents are divorced and are both narcissists
i'm homeless because my mom believes she doesn't need a job because the king/prince of dubai is her soulmate and she'll be a millionaire soon ?????? i can't get a job either because she moves onto the next location every time i mention it. we hop from campground to couch to car to hotel and it's been this way for 6 years but her psych has deteriorated over time
barely made it through high school. i still haven't taken my 11th grade exam even though it's due soon. i haven't actually studied in years because i've had too much shit going on to focus. i did online school between 6th grade to 9th grade and have been fully homeschooled since. my brain's turned to mush. i failed every subject besides science and history so now my grades are too low to get into college. i also can't attend college because it's too much money. we literally have like 60 dollars in the bank bc someone lended it to us but it's gonna be gone soon cause my mom blows it on shit we don't need
i don't have any friends. or have anyone to talk to for that matter. i've never had an irl friend and it's been a year since i had an online friend. she has really strict rules around socialization and going outside. i'm watched like a hawk. i don't go outside unless my mom is right by my side but my dilemma is that i genuinely hate being around her because she's obnoxious and rude to everyone, but it's also my only opportunity to be part of the world instead of rotting alone inside all day. not like i get the chance to very often because she's lazy af and doesn't even like going on walks or going inside stores. she just orders things. the most i'll go outside is to walk to the bathroom across from our cabin or walk out to the car
i'm always bored and lonely, have been my whole life basically, and it's resulted in me being completely apathetic towards everything. it's agonizing to say the least. i always feel empty and disconnected from my body and the world. the only thing that makes me feel good is maladaptive daydreaming but it's not reality. each time i accept that it's not reality i spiral further down and it feels like my head is physically ripping apart
my mom does so much more shit i won't even get into
cps is shit. cops are shit. both have done nothing but ridicule me. ruled my case as lies somehow. they shattered the only spirit i had left thinking that things would get better. nobody cares. i had one relative i could turn to and they said they'd arrest both him and me if i tried to stay with him
i can't just leave because i don't have any resources, nowhere to stay, no money, no direction, etc and i'll probably get arrested this time
i'm fighting for a life spent alone, in poverty, depressed, and being controlled. i don't see the point. suicide really does seem like a sweet prize i've earned after all this mess

2023.03.24 04:29 Reasonabledwarf An in-depth look at Starfield's skill system, in case you've missed it
The gameplay showcase last year gave us a
pretty good look at the skills in the game and how they'd be doled out, but it happens very fast, and it isn't explained thoroughly. Since then, various folks have pieced together and picked at the presentation sufficiently to construct a more in-depth look at the skill system, but that's generally been done in comment threads so I figure a post-level overview might be useful... especially to newcomers trickling in now that we're closer to release. One thing to keep in mind: this post is primarily based on a year-old build of the game, so things may have changed significantly in the meantime.
1. The Basics
The core of the skill system is gaining skill points by leveling up your character, which you do by collecting good ol' fashioned experience points. These are earned in Fallout style from activities like killing things and discovering new locations, likely among others. In addition to three skills granted by your character's starting background, skills can be unlocked by spending a single skill point. To unlock a skill, however, you need access to that branch of the skill tree.
The skill tree is divided into five categories, each of which is subdivided into four descending branches or levels. The uppermost level of each category is unlocked from the beginning, and it's from these branches that the background starting skills are drawn. Each descending branch requires a certain investment of skill points in the branches above to unlock it before you're allowed to spend points on those skills, although we don't yet know exactly how many points are required, or if the points need to be in the adjacent level or not. (
Example skill tree)
Skill points can also be spent to increase the level of an already unlocked skill, but before you can do that you are required to complete a challenge particular to that level of that skill. This brings an Elder Scrolls-like element of "get good at something by doing the thing" to the game, without tracking lots of different XP bars. Each skill looks like it can be leveled up three times after it's unlocked, granting a stacking bonus each time; the bonus isn't necessarily the same type or magnitude at each level.
Counting them up, it looks like there will be somewhere between 70 and 80 individual skills in the game. Past this point, I'll be getting into more speculative territory as I cover each category of the skill tree in depth, with as much info as we have on each individual skill.
Any text in italics is highly speculative, and largely drawn from my own fevered imaginings. 2. Physical Skills
The Physical category includes only two skills we know about for sure, seven whose existence we can only infer, five unnamed icons, and three partial icons.
3. Social Skills
The entire Social category is visible, which gives us sixteen skills to work with. Four of these skills are also visible in character backgrounds, so we have even more detail.
- "Bargaining - Buy items for 5% less and sell for 10% more." A starter skill. Self explanatory.
- "Diplomacy - You can force a target NPC at or below your level to stop fighting for a while." A starter skill. The same skill effect appears in Fallout 4 in a couple contexts. Remember, leveling up this skill will grant totally different bonuses.
- "Gastronomy - You can craft specialty food and drinks, and research additional recipes at a Research Lab." A starter skill. It seems likely that several other skills might include a Research component, unlocking other crafting recipes.
- "Persuasion - Gain an increased chance of success on speech challenges." A starter skill. Even having seen a speech challenge in the first Constellation Questions video, I don't feel confident speculating on what, exactly, this skill does.
- A chest full of coins and bullets. Considering how Fallout and Skyrim handled things, this could be either a skill that improves quest rewards, or more likely one that improves scavenged loot generally.
- A credit chip, or cab-hailing device. In the Q&A video referenced earlier, it's mentioned that the game previously had a system for calling for help when you ran out of fuel, that has since been removed. This may be related to that system.
- An angry gorilla. Most likely, it's a bonus to intimidation-based options in speech challenges.
- A coin changing hands. Since we already have a trade skill, this might be bribery related.
- A scraggly hand snagging a gem. This looks pretty definitively like a pickpocketing icon.
- A very... abstract image of some people and a match. Maybe related to "matchmaking," or the relationship system.
- A lone spaceman. My only guess: this is a "Lone Wanderer" playstyle skill that gives bonuses when you're alone, but the Introvert trait already exists.
- A two-spaceman team. The exact opposite of the previous, I'm guessing this gives bonuses for teaming up... but again, the Extrovert trait is already a thing.
- A habitat dome. Most likely, this is tied to the social aspects of the outpost system.
- Puppeteering. While it would be great to actually be able to use puppets, I suspect this relates to controlling enemies or micromanaging your hirelings.
- A weird gas pump, or steering yoke. This probably has something to do with managing your ship, or possibly with robots. Not much to go on.
- I have no idea. This one looks like some kind of psychic connection to an alien bug-beast.
4. Combat Skills
The Combat category is the one we have the most information about; seventeen skills, many with full names and effects, are revealed in the trailer. They're also the least interesting, largely consisting of percentage bonuses to damage with specific weapon categories.
- "Ballistics," a starter skill, is the one we know the most about; we see every bonus the skill can grant, and the challenge that unlocks the final rank (250 kills with ballistic weapons).
- "Dueling - Melee weapons do 10% more damage." A starter skill. Self explanatory.
- "Lasers - Laser weapons do 10% more damage." A starter skill. A broad category like Ballistics.
- "Pistol Certification - Pistols do 10% more damage." A starter skill. Self explanatory.
- A break-action shotgun. A starter skill. Most likely a shotgun damage bonus.
- "Demolitions." The rank 3 challenge is to "Kill 125 enemies with explosives," which grants "Explosives do 30% more damage and have a 30% larger radius." We might infer that ranks 2 and 1 do the same, but at 20% and 10% respectively, if we use Ballistics as a template.
- "Heavy Weapons Certification." The rank 4 challenge is to "Kill 250 enemies with a heavy weapon," which grants "Gain 30 Damage Resistance while aiming down the sights with a heavy weapon."
- Highly ambiguous, it looks like some stars and a comet. This could be just about anything.
- A Kalashnikov. Most likely the automatic weapons or assault rifles skill.
- "Marksmanship." This may be a general ranged weapons skill, or a skill specifically for bows.
- "Particle Beams." Like the Lasers and Ballistics skills, this probably covers a range of weapons; being on a later branch, these must be more rare and advanced.
- "Rapid Reloading." The rank 4 challenge is to "Reload 150 empty magazines," woe betide anyone who reloads before they're empty habitually. The rank 4 unlock bonus is "Gain a chance to reload your weapon twice as fast as normal."
- "Sniper Certification - Scoped weapons are steadier and have less sway." Self explanatory. Odd that there aren't any numbers for those stats.
- "Targeting." The rank 3 challenge is to "Kill 125 enemies without aiming," down the sights, presumably. The rank 3 unlock is "Greatly increased accuracy and range when shooting without aiming."
- Some pierced body armor. An armor-piercing skill, probably.
- A knee joint. Either a limb damage skill, or a crippling ability.
- A simple crosshair. Frequently, games use this symbol when talking about critical hits.
5. Science Skills
The Science category is a bit sparse, with only three starting skills; seven visible skills, three partial ones, and five inferred skills make fifteen total.
6. Tech Skills
The Tech category isn't visible in the footage we have, but the name appears in the interface and a couple skills are visible.
- "Security - You can attempt to hack Advanced locks, and 2 auto attempts can be banked." A starter skill. It seems like there are no longer separate hacking and lockpicking activities.
- "Robotics - You deal 10% more damage to Robots and Turrets." A starter skill. Two enemy types we've seen in Fallout return.
- "Starship Design." During the ship customization sequence, various parts appear to require different levels of this skill to install.
... And that's it! Feel free to challenge any of my speculations.

The 185th nest migration happened Wednesday!
[Calgary Nest Map] Direct link
(http://bit.ly/YYCNestMap) Nest Migration start: Mar 15, 5 pm
Next Nest Migration: Mar 29, 5 pm
Nests are as accurate at time of reporting. Please keep in mind that sometimes nests change when certain events begin/end. The majority of the nest list has been provided by
https://www.theraidmap.com/ If you want more pokemon, please consider subscribing.
In order to keep the nest list updated as timely as possible I would kindly request that nest only be reported in top level comments and avoid editing previous posts to include new nests. The easiest way for me to see when the list needs to be updated is to see when I have a notification from reddit and I only receive those on new top level comments. Thank you very much! Thank you to all our nest reporters! Without you, this wouldn't be possible! Please keep the following in mind when reporting nests: Spawn points in nests have a 25% chance to spawn the nest Pokemon. If a nest only has a handful of spawn points it is common to not see any of the nesting Pokemon if you are only at the nest for a short period of time. Due to this please ensure you have spent enough time in a nest before reporting your findings.
Happy hunting!!

2023.03.24 04:02 Then_Duty_4693 Occupant Move-Out Agreement and Release
Hello I am located in Nevada and currently going through foreclosure after living here for over 20 years, and my property was sold less than a month ago at open auction at the court. I have received a notice of sale that was posted on my home and have been awaiting a three day notice to quit and received it yesterday. After contacting the lawyers for the bank and asking for a 30 day extension and $10k for relocation assistance (A cash for keys Deal) the bank has countered with 30 days and $5k cash and sent an agreement if we are interested.
This Agreement lists the requirements for payment and states their obligation to pay the relocation assistance is contingent on all of the things outlined one of which is "The property being surrendered free from all personal property, including trash and/or debris" Later on the 'Default' clause states "Any violation to this agreement by the occupant including but not limited to the occupants failure to vacate the premises by the surrender date will forfeit the occupants right to receive the relocation assistance or any portion thereof and they are entitled to recover reasonable attorneys fees, eviction expenses and costs or any other costs allowed by law associated with the occupant's default of the agreement" Also "in the event they determine that damage to the premises has occurred which was caused by the willful acts acts of, omission or, the negligence of occupant they shall deduct the costs of the repairs from the amount of the relocation assistance. In the event that the costs of the repairs exceed the amount of the assistance occupant shall be personally liable for the costs of repairs exceeding this number" I am wondering if this is a good idea in any way, in all honesty I am not expecting the cash I would just like more time as well as wondering if I leave items in the home if they will count the cost of junk removal as 'damage to the property' and count it towards money I may owe them for "repairs" afterword's and also if that would constitute a breach of the agreement . If I need to explain anything else I am happy to do so or if more information is needed I greatly appreciate and responses in advance

2023.03.24 02:36 harri_ett How did you learn to cope with the lack of control that comes from being SP?
I’ll probably delete this because I’m scared in case she sees but I am sooooo sick of HCBM bs. UK based btw.
I (F30)’ve been with my SO (M30) for about a year and a half (so I am not TECHNICALLY step) and he has 2 kids, SD10 and SS8 that he sees EOWE. They live 2 and a half hours away with their mum (F32) and my SO does over 500 miles of driving every fortnight to go get them, bring them back here, and then we drive them back up early on Sunday mornings so SS can attend rugby practice. SO is no longer allowed in the house (fine by me tbh but it means SS spends the whole day dirty from rugby!? we change his clothes but yeah…) so we spend all day on Sundays until 6PM driving round/finding coffee shops/getting lunch and trying to find different things for the kids to do. Summer is better because we can play outside and go for walks but winter has cost sooo much money because it’s too cold for them to be outside for very long so we pay much more for inside activities, hot food, etc.
SD also does loads of extracurricular activities, including her main one which is Irish dance, and whenever she has an exam or a feis on SO weekend we are TOLD - not asked, TOLD - that it is happening and where it is. So that’s more money spent driving to different locations, paying for AirBnBs, show tickets, more meals out. I know technically we could refuse but then SO is told what a bad dad he is, he never shows up for his kids, blah blah. HCBM has previously sent him close up pics she’s taken of SD crying.
HCBM cannot communicate at all without making some kind of dig or trying to start an argument. They’re in the process of getting divorced, basically at the end of the actual divorce but my SO solicitor has suggested he hold off pushing the button to finalise (it is literally a button he has to press on the online portal and it’s done) because they haven’t sorted financials. But it’s impossible to negotiate with her! My SO worked with his solicitor to come up with reasonable suggestions as to how to split the equity (the house is the main asset, he’s happy to just split pensions 50/50) including taking money out with a remortgage, taking half the equity once his youngest reaches 18 or selling but she thinks they’re all unreasonable and when my SO asked why she pulled the mental health card and also pointed out that her earning potential is less than his. Which is true except all his suggestions took into account her CURRENT affordability (she wont supply her bank statements or payslips but she currently pays the whole of the joint mortgage so he based calculations off of that). I honestly think it’ll end up in court at this rate which is so unnecessary and though I don’t think she’ll get what she wants (she wants to either offset his equity with her part of his pension, which is nowhere near enough, or pay him £100 a month for the next 10 years equating to a total of £12k from a £150k house with £50k equity currently). But it’s a super expensive way to go about it.
I’ve tried seeing things from her POV because I thought empathising would help but it’s honestly impossible. She harassed my SO’s family, shit talks him on social media and has even harassed his work HR department to try and tarnish his reputation. She started sleeping with men for money DURING THE MARRIAGE (which SHE brought up the first time I met her?!) and then finally decided to separate… my SO was still giving her 75% of his wages when we met… she claims disability allowance for her mental health and says the doctor told her she can’t drive long distances (why she makes my SO do the full journey) then we find out she goes to stay with her latest sugar daddy when we have the kids - over an hours drive away!
I’ve literally put myself back into therapy because between her crap and the volatility of SD10 (sometimes we get on great, sometimes she’s like a BM mini and lately it’s way more the former than the latter) I’m becoming seriously stressed and I don’t want it to affect the rest of my life or my work.
However, today has just felt like the straw that broke the camels back: my SO is due an MOT, he was booked in last week but the ramp broke and the next available appointment was tomorrow morning so he’s rebooked for then. Earlier he text BM to say he’d collect the kids from school and she replied to say she’d searched his numberplate on the DVLA website and she could see it’s not insured and she wont be letting him drive the kids in an uninsured vehicle?? Like how often is she searching his numberplate to have noticed when it’s not insured?!
I just can’t wrap my head around her behaviour and I wanna know… does it get better? My SO is actually considering a non-molestation order once the divorce goes through to prevent her from harassing him so much.

2023.03.24 02:31 Particular-Wedding Citi Risk Management Interview Cancelled 1 Hour Before Appointed Time
Early Jan - I was contacted by an internal recruiter via Linkedin and invited to apply for a risk management role. I complete the application including having to re-enter my resume details in their outdated clunky software. This is a somewhat specialized role that requires a healthy blend of legal knowledge of banking regulations and experience working with financial models. I have both.
Late Jan - screening call to discuss salary range. Due to new state laws, the internal HR screener explained to me that Citi has chosen to disclose salary for all positions in the USA regardless of location. She stated this is b/c their system has a drop down menu which includes jurisdictions like NYC and Colorado which have pay transparency laws. Modding the system is too clunky so management just decided to give approval for the salary range. I give her my desired range and she says it is fine.
Early Feb - receive invitation for Zoom meeting. I accept.
Mid Feb - appointment cancelled 2 days before. No surprise. HR helps me reschedule.
Late Feb - appointment cancelled again 1 hr before the appointed time w/no explanation. HR is baffled about the reason and stated that the interviewer did not give a reason why. She apologized.
Early March - I receive an automated rejection email thanking me for my participation at the interview and that they enjoyed meeting w/me but chose to close the position since risk management is "not something that is required as part of the bank's budget at this time."
Mid March - US banking crisis hits which remains ongoing at the time of this writing. The government is forced to shut down several banks. Investigations reveal that risk management had not been taken seriously at the shuttered institutions.
Currently - I am working as a consultant billing some of these banks at a higher hourly rate than they would have paid me as a salaried employee.

2023.03.24 02:24 diaaa_94 First Time Trip to Japan from 2/24 - 3/11 (~2 weeks) with a Group of 6 - Review
Hello!
It's been a couple of weeks since I've come back from my trip to Japan and thought I'd share my experience since this subreddit was so helpful to our group when we were planning our trip.
Some general info about our trips - I went with 5 other friends, all of us are in our late 20s and from the US. Four of my friends had already been to Japan before while for the other 2 (including myself) this was our first time visiting Japan. During our trip we went to Tokyo for 5.5 days, Hakone for 1.5 days, Kyoto for 5.5 days (with day trips to Osaka, Nara and the Himeji Castle) and then finally back to Tokyo for another 1.5 days.
GENERAL STUFF
- Pocket Wifi's - Since were a group of 6 we opted to get 2 pocket wifi's from Japan Wireless because we knew there would be days we'd split up since our group was made up of people that have visited Japan before and first-timers. One pocket wifi for some reason absolutely died on the 3rd day of our trip, which was not great lol. Unfortunately the only way we could find to get in touch with Japan Wireless was through their "contact us" page on their website which was basically just sending them an email, but they did get back to us the same day and delivered a new pocket wifi to a post-office near our Airbnb the next day. After that we had no issues with the pocket wifi's at all, some random places there was no service/a little slow but 95% of the time they worked great.
- Airport stuff - Definitely take screenshots of the QR codes for immigration and customs, it was just so much easier to pull them up when I landed because I didn't have to mess with connecting to the airport wifi to pull up my QR codes from the actual website. Immigration and customs were a breeze, I think I got out in about 30-45 minutes but I also did not check in any luggage so didn't have to retrieve anything at the baggage claim. Post-customs things - it was pretty easy to pick up our JR passes, pocket wifis, exchange money, etc. but each thing took some time because there were moderately sized queues for each thing, so we didn't get out I think for another 1.5 hours after getting out of immigration and customs.
- Shopping - if you plan on shopping for clothes then I'd take less clothes than you think you'd need. We wanted to take advantage of the favorable exchange rate, tax free stores and the vintage/thrift shops in Japan, so we did shop around quite a bit. I didn't end up buying a whole lot, but it was enough to make me think that I could've gotten by bringing less clothes than i did. Some of my friends but a lot more and tbh could've really gone by with bringing just one outfit with them by the end.
- If you are planning on shopping make sure to bring your passport to be able to get tax free benefits!
- Bring a variety of layers - most of us only packed for cold weather because we saw that it was going to be cold especially in the mornings and at night during the first week we were in Japan, but we failed to notice that our second week in Japan was going to be much warmer. Towards the end of our trip the weather was in the upper 60s and low 70s during the day and most of us did not really pack for that weather
- WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - I cannot stress this enough. Even days where we didn't have multiple areas to visit we still pulled at least 20,000 steps. I was dumb and bought a pair of Vans for style along with a pair of Nike sneakers. Because I didn't want to waste my pair of Vans that I used precious baggage space for I wore it on a day I thought was going to have less walking but we still ended up walking a ton and my feet were dying by the end of the day. Aka I'd just give up your style and go for comfort!!
- I would try to follow what exits that Google maps suggest you exit from when arriving at your destination especially in big stations like Tokyo, Namba, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, etc. Those stations are just so ginormous and we learned the hard way that getting out from a different exit meant walking a whole lot more to get to our destination sometimes even around the whole station itself. At smaller stations I found the difference though wasn't that big, so if it is a smaller station than just go ahead and get out from any exit
- I think our group (6 people) is considered to be a large group in Japan so the times when we did go out to eat together, about 80% of the time we were split up into different table which was fine with us. Smaller more intimate places like small ramen stores where there's only like countebar seats we were sometimes split up individually but we still walked away with a delicious meal so can't complain much. Also places in a yokocho (small alleyways) were not really an option for us if we were trying to dine all together. Also I don't think splitting the bill is a thing in Japan so if we dined together we always just had someone pay the bill for all of us and later Venmo'd each other.
- Everything we planned on doing took like 1.5x longer than we expected, so we didn't get to see all the places that we initially planned for so that was kind of sad, but I also loved that we were able to see as much as we did. It was just that every place we went to there was just so many places that caught our attention as we walked around like cute little stores, cafes or we would just stop to take in all the sights. So if you're kind of like us and a little slow-moving than I think it would be best to not pressure yourself with lots of plans each day so that you can really explore each place/area to your heart's content.
LUGGAGE
- As many people have already suggested but I would listen and use the luggage transfer services. We ended up not because we were kinda confused about how it would work when we were staying in Airbnbs. In the end we managed but only because we had to haha. It got a little tough in the subway stations because the escalators or elevators up were not always in obvious places so lots of stairs while carrying our luggage were taken. It was a REAL struggle on our first night in Hakone because one of our places was an Airbnb up a semi-steep hill + was not the most accessible by public transport there aka just use the transfer services lol.
- Since we didn't use the transfer services, we did end up using the lockers at the Hakone train station. We used our backpacks for our one night at a ryokan and left our luggage at the lockers at the station which ended up being 1400 yen for one night (700 yen until midnight for the first day + 700 yen when we picked them up the next day). These lockers though saved our butts from having to drag our luggage around Hakone while we waited for our ryokan check in time.
- Lockers - they were very helpful for the days that we had to check out but had time to kill before a train or next check in. We were able to use our IC cards to pay for them except for the Hakone ones which only accepted coins. The large lockers can hold two carry on sized luggages or one large check-in sized luggage. However you might have to walk around the station to find an open large lockers if it's the weekend because they're not as plentiful as the smaller lockers so a lot of those could be taken up on busier days. I would also take a picture of your locker and the surrounding area of your locker because in the really large ones like Kyoto, Tokyo and Shinjuku, it can be quite hard to find again.
- Bring an empty and foldable/packable duffle bag with you or pack less in your suitcase initially to leave space for souvenirs. I only used a carry on bag to pack all my stuff for the trip because I didn't to lug around a progressively heavier check-in sized suitcase as we moved around and bought more stuff along our trip. However, I also knew though that I was probably going to buy enough things in Japan that it was not going to fit my suitcase by the end, so I also packed an empty foldable/packable duffle bag to pack all my souvenirs for when I was coming back to the US, which I was super grateful to have and actually had to start using as soon as we we were getting ready to leave Tokyo to go to other cities.
IC CARDS
- I'd HIGHLY recommend for anyone that can to get/use the Suica/Pasmo card on their phones. Half of us opted to get/use the card with the Apple wallet on our iPhones. It was so easy to top up with our Apple pay and super convenient to use at the station ticket turnstiles. I also preferred the cards on our phones because we could use our credit card to top up via Apple pay thereby saving some of our cash to use for other stuff.
- Other people in my group opted to get the physical Welcome Suica card and it was ever so slightly inconvenient to reload because they'd have to stop at a ticket machine in the station to reload it with cash, but otherwise they were happy with them, had no issues with them and got a special sakura Suica.
- 2 of my friends got the Suica card on her phone while I got the Pasmo card on mine. We were all able to use these on all the metro and bus systems, vending machines and some stores/restaurants in all the other cities we visited outside of Tokyo without any major issues.
- Sometimes for some reason when we beeped our card on the turnstile it would randomly not work even though we had enough funds on our cards, but it was easily fixed by going to the office next to the turnstiles where we explained to the staff that our cards didn't work and they just let us through.
- None of us were able to use our Visa cards to reload our IC cards. My friends though were able to use their MasterCards to reload their Suicas. I don't have a MasterCard, but I was instead able to use an AmEx to reload my Pasmo. Just something to be mindful of if you are going to use the mobile Pasmo/Suica card.
SHINKANSEN
- We all got our JR passes through Klook so we couldn't book any seats online, but that ended up not being a huge deal. In Tokyo we stayed in Ikebukuro and there was a big JR office nearby our place so we went ahead booked majority of our seats ahead of time there one morning. It was quick, easy and the staff were super helpful. Some of our smaller day trips like from Kyoto to Himeji we booked the same day using the JR ticket machines at Kyoto Station, which was easy to do, but you do have to know your passport number to use these machines. There were also plenty of seats available but it was a weekday and not during the busy season.
- One of my friends had a large check in bag which was considered oversized so we needed to get him one of those special reserved seat that's at the back of each train car with the space behind the seats for large suitcases, except we were dumb and forgot to get him that special reserved seat. I didn't go with him to change his ticket, but apparently it was pretty easy for him to change his ticket when he visited another JR office.
- My friend and I did miss a Shinkansen from Himeji to Osaka because we got lost in train station but we just went to the staff at the side of the Shinkansen ticket gates for help and he was super nice, helpful and spoke English. He was going to change our ticket to another one, but ended up recommending that we just take a special rapid JR train that is a little slower, but would get us to Osaka faster instead of us waiting another hour for the next Shinkansen.
- If it's a clear day and you're doing Tokyo Kyoto on a shinkansen try to reserve a seat on the left side of the train because you'll be able to see Mt. Fuji about an hour or so into the train ride. Even if you don't get to sit on the side you can go in between the train cars where there will be a window that you can look out of instead (which is what I did).
- If you get to the train station too late to look at the bentos/ekibens at the station I think some of longer routes there is a very small food cart that goes up and down the train with some bentos, drinks and snacks, but there aren't as many choices and they only take cash. There are some ekibens that are self-heating but majority I think are at room temperature, so some of the ekibens can be hit or miss. Some of us liked ours while others were not huge fans of the ones they got.
CASH
- I saw a lot of posts saying cash is king still in Japan and I think I found this to be only somewhat true. It's true enough that I did end up using some cash almost every single day and made sure to have some cash on hand with me, but I also was also able to use my credit card at about 90-95% of the stores and restaurants that we stopped by. I ended up mainly using cash for small mom and pop type restaurants, street food stalls, small stores and the entry fee for temples, but nothing was ever over 2000 yen. Also I was surprised that even smaller gift stores will take credit cards.
- Hakone was the only place we visited where I feel like I mainly had to use cash to pay for things as opposed to credit card, but again nothing was that expensive
- I bought with me 40,000 yen (from my bank in the US) to Japan and had to use a 7-11 ATM once while in Japan to get an extra 10,000 yen (I actually wanted just 5000 but the minimum withdrawal amount was 10,000 for that ATM). I did end up using most of the cash that I bought with me initially and the extra cash I had to get while there. I think, though, I actually could've spent less cash, but (1) our Hakone ryokan only accepted cash for payment so half of the cash I spent was for this and (2) towards the end of my trip I realized I was going to have quite a bit of cash leftover so I just started using cash to pay for things even if card was accepted so that I could use up as much of the cash I had.
- Definitely listen to what everyone says about carrying around a coin purse or buying one when you get there. So many coins were accumulated throughout the trip lol.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Tokyo
- Ghibli Museum
- TeamLabs Planets
- Yoyogi Park - got to see some early blossoming sakura trees!
- Gotokuji Temple (the lucky cat temple) - the temple itself is quite small, but the surrounding neighborhood is really nice to walk around with lots of little shops, cafes and nice restaurants. It's also a quieter area of Tokyo if anyone is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Harajuku, Ometasando and Aoyama - just walking around in the less busy streets was one of my favorites
- Shimokitazawa - lots of cute vintage and antique stores amongst all the thrift stores there
- Itoya Ginza - I love stationary so this 12 story stationary store was heaven
- Muji Ginza - my friend and I love Muji products so this was a must stop for us and it was wonderful lol
- Hakone
- the onsens - Hakone was the coldest place we went to on our trip and the outside onsen at our ryokan + the cold weather at night was the perfect match because it meant we never got too too hot from the onsen (though it was still pretty hot lol)
- Owakudani - the black eggs and the fairly close up view of Mt. Fuji. We went on a semi-cloudy day so we unfortunately didn't get to see all of Fuji-san but we did get to see a little more than half of it and it was already super impressive.
- Kyoto
- Kiyomizodera and walking around the surrounding streets/area - can be crowded though.
- Philosophers Path - we went before any cherry blossoms were blossoming so unfortunately we just saw lots of dead trees lol, but the area was still really nice, passed by a lot of cute cafes and stores along the path/river
- Arashiyama - the Monkey Park, the Bamboo Forest, Gio-ji temple, and the BREAD, ESPRESSO & ARASHIYAMA GARDEN bakery (we didn't go into the main restaurant/cafe because the wait was too long so we just went to the bakery to the side which was SO GOOD). We loved walking around the northern part of Arashiyama which was did to get to the Gio-Ji temple. It's a lot less crowded than the bamboo forest area and was just so beautiful, lots of preserved old machiya houses, streets and open fields. It was collectively one of our favorite days and areas to visit during our trip.
- Osaka
- Osaka Castle
- Dotonburi - all the sights and food is a little chaotic but I loved it
- Nara
- Todai-ji
- Kasuga Taisha - the walk up to it was beautiful and all the deer along the way was a definite plus
- all the deer - some of them are definitely a bit aggressive lol like they'll bite your clothes or try to headbutt you for biscuits. at the base level though if they don't do that most will definitely at least follow you for those biscuits.
I loved my time there and everything exceeded all the expectations I had. i'm already thinking of ways to get myself back there as soon as possible. This is incredibly long haha and I probably forgot some stuff too but I hope someone finds this a little helpful!

2023.03.24 02:20 swornds8261 Bank returned $20 I lost 2 years ago
2 years ago I withdrew $20 from an ATM and the money never came out. For whatever reason I decided not to contact the bank about it because I didn't think they would believe me. Today I got a call from TD and the caller asked me to verify a few details about this transaction asking about time date location and to verify my personal detail. I told the guy I didn't feel comfortable giving out this detail and asked if I could call TD main line to verify if he worked for TD. He gave me his name and phone number. After I called TD and spoke with a rep who confirmed the employee info I called the guy back and provided the details he asked for. The next day I saw a credit for $20 posted on my account.
Just wanted to share this story, if the ATM doesn't give you any cash on withdraw call the bank because they really don't want to get the wrong balance.

2023.03.24 02:17 NorthStarProject Gary William Fisk Case Update
Hi. My name is Friendly Alien, and this was a case covered by a Field Analyst and friend of the North Star Project. I have no idea why AKST or any officials have not updated the information, as this was discovered in August last year... But here's an overview of what we've found and what our unnamed Field Analyst wrote while he was out there:
Crow Pass, Missing Person: Case Report
-FA, "Maketa". N.S.P. (North Star Project) Background: A 74-year-old Gary Fisk, Departed on the Crows' pass hike from Girdwood to Eagle river on September 21st, 2021. After a bout of Adverse weather, including snow and high winds, Fisk was never heard from again. Aircraft and mountain rescue crews were unable to locate Fisk or recover a Cadaver. This area is known for avalanches and Blizzards, as are most of the mountains surrounding the Mat-Su Valley during the winter and spring months.
Running theory: AKST and Rescue crews were unable to locate Mr. Fisk, finding no signs and publishing minimum circumstances regarding his disappearance. However, heavy snowfall likely played a significant role. It was likely causing him to become lost or seek shelter in one of the many Abandoned mines in the area. Trained rescue crews often do not enter Dilapidated mines due to the risk of Poisonous gas, Cave-ins, and/or improperly disposed of ordinances. I and a local guide have Formed the hypothesis that Fisk departed Girdwood, and traveled an Undetermined distance. (will be estimated through interview with AKST) Mr. Fisk was unable to travel further or backtrack due to increasing weather severity, seeking shelter inside the lowest point near his position. Some period of time had passed and an avalanche/or snow had buried the trail or if sheltering in a mine entrance bracing may have failed to cause a cave-in. It is estimated Fisk is likely Deceased due to Exposure and/or starvation
Planned Field Investigation: Beginning in August 2022, the Investigation will be conducted by Bridger Maketa, Assisted in the field by Nathaniel Caole. Time of departure/ weather conditions and Geological activity will be determined through interview With AKST, NOAA and or Family Members, then be cross-referenced to determine distance traveled. All Underground cavities in the area will be searched, for signs of Fisk, snow coverage, and/or Recent collapse within the past 2 years. If Mr Fisk is Located and ID’d, measurements will be taken of Radiation, gas levels, signs of injury and location. Outcome to be forwarded to family, And AKST.
Screenshot Of Location Of Discovery And Paths. Investigation outcome: Aug 18th 2022: our party Departed Girdwood at 12pm, traveling up the lower and upper trails. Multiple slide locations into thick unsearchable foliage were spotted, as well as one of two accessible mine entrances due to time constraints. There were many places to fall including a large canyon on the southern incline towards the summit, which all locations prior to the summit would make recovery unlikely/implausible. We also encountered record rainfall combined with 60mph+ as we crossed by Beaver Glacier. After the descent time had degraded the trail causing us to lose it temporarily. We decided to make camp at the bottom of the valley behind the bluff for wind protection.
Aug 19th 2022: upon departure, we were unable to progress on the lower valley, upon backtracking to enter the trail, we spotted an aluminum rod deep in the brush, No other items seen. We Completed the first river crossing with ease, with the water just above ankles. And continued down trail, checking low areas where a lost person would be attracted towards. A footbridge over a canyon had damaged railing, if someone fell they would be likely non-recoverable, another location shorty after involved a slippery ledge over the canyon. Upon entering the bushwhacking section of the trail we were hindered by a cow and calf (female Moose with calf), refusing to exit the trail in front of us while traveling through tall grass and thick foliage. In 14 miles with an additional 4 in detours we arrived upon the bank of Eagle River. We had immediately noticed water levels were far higher than typical. Much of the trail to the fjord sight was immersed in ice cold glacial water causing us to detour along the higher sections of floodplain. Upon arrival to the fjord sight, we concluded Eagle River was in-cross able. Our choice was either 15 miles of steep muddy slopes followed by a treacherous mountain climb, or to attempt to travel south to cross the headwaters of the lake. Upon choosing to travel the shorter path, the trail dissapeared replaced by rough terrain and thick foliage. We continued for two miles until we were half way around the lake. Upon then we found a piece of Grey pants on the ground, we were surprised someone had been here before us, however 50 feet the terrain was completely impassible, down to the left in an indent, our search took a eventful and solemn turn, as we spotted a bright yellow backpack. A floral water bottle was attached outside, while a lighter lay upon the ground 3 feet away. We searched the bag for ID, eventually identifying it as belonging to Gary Fisk. Being careful to not disturb evidence we left the bag and all other items in position. Noticeably the backpack had a foam pad yet no sleeping bag, a bear canister (food storage canister) had teeth marks upon it, however the yellow bag had not been opened upon discovery. We determined to visually search for a few more minutes, finding a turned over tree with a can of bear spray, which had a bite taken out of it. 20 ft left from the pant leg.
Upon departure we spotted tattered red fabric 50 feet above us on the canyon to our western side.
Photograph Of The Discover Of Fisks' ID Departure: The weather quickly declined, resulting in many slips and falls upon our return. Water began flooding the valley, turning most trail sections into flowing streams and deep mud pits. We were determined to return to the summit cabin before dark, due to the danger of climbing at night, and our camping gea fire starting kits becoming waterlogged. We kept moving taking minimum breaks to stave off hypothermia making it 10 miles uphill before the first river crossing. Upon a short discussing we knew our only way was across, as the record flood would continue for weeks. The river had risen to waist height, moving fast enough to send boulders crashing downstream. We found a fjord sight and barely crossed, due to a single trekking pole I became completely wet, and hypothermia quickly set in causing my legs to tense and losing my ability to move.
Aug 20th 2022: We made an emergency camp, utilizing a bivy bag and wet gear. Mr Caole completed the last 2 miles to the cabin to call for help. I was inside the bivy bag unable to move for 12 hours until ANG Hilo arrived, being airlifted to Providence Anchorage with severe hypothermia.
August 21st 2022: AKST and S&R crews traveled to the sight but were unable to find any remains or the clothing we found. Only recovering the backpack and bearspray
Deduction: The location of Gary Fisk’s campsite being Miles ahead of where S&R crews suspected. From the evidence found the story is assumed to be, Gary departed on September 21st 2021, traveled down to the rear of the summit as weather degraded, continuing downhill to avoid deep snow.
Upon reaching the river crossing a day behind in progress, and wet from slush and snow, Gary traveled quicker and lost the trail to the fjord sight and continued to travel south. The terrain was more and more difficult to pass before finally reaching the dead end beside the lake. Garry was fully hypothermic and had no choice but to make camp and attempt to start a fire, however, as evident from the lighter and attempted fire, he was unsuccessful due to either the loss of dexterity, or the wetness of the area. It is unknown what happened after this, though it is possible that after hypothermia led to the removal of his clothes. Upon hearing the snowmachines used by S&R crews on the eastern lake side. Gary either A: climbed up the Cliff to signal for help, Following death by exposure. Or B: gary attempted to swim across the lake, the 38 degree water immediately causing Cardiac arrest.
Second theory of the nature of presumed death is, Gary, being stalked by a bear and mauled/Buried. This theory is supported by the numerous black and brown bear population in the area, His Bear mace being located 50 feet away from the campsite, with multiple punctures to the can, indicative of large teeth. As well as the torn clothes. (as opposed to neatly removed which is more typical to hypothermia)
However It is more likely a bear was attracted to the Capsacin and removed it from the bag to chew on, and there would have been one or more cadaver remnants from a bear mauling leaving the lack of a body improbable.
NOTE: Please know that we take this seriously and do not mean any of this information to be satire.

2023.03.24 00:59 Logic_Sandwich JoJo's Bizarre OC Tournament #6: R4M7 - Mx. Wah vs Brandy Judge
The results are in for Match 5. The winner is… Electra wanted to scream.
She’d seen it. Nadine’s face, exhausted and resolved. A dull and empty, hopeless resolve. Electra was still fighting, knew that she’d got Nadine to really, truly take it seriously. Just a month or two ago, she’d have felt giddy. To see the wrappings of false positivity, false and weak hope torn away, to show something tough underneath.
Electra wanted to scream, she wanted to stop, she wanted to call it off, she wanted to leave. But she couldn’t, now. She’d done it again, one of her “friends” had disappointed her, and there was this…this pit, this awful fucking pit of darkness, it’d covered her, her face and body covered in shadows. A nobody in the shape of a girl, a yawning void. A black hole. It couldn’t let it pass, it had to drag them closer, drag them in, drag them down.
Down to her level.
There was no chance she could get out of it. She’d won, been too successful. She’d seen Nadine’s problems, seen her strife, but she’d just pressed and pressed to see what she would do. It was
she that threatened Nadine if she backed down, went easy.
This was Nadine’s checkmate. Electra surrounded on a bare platform, surrounded by electrified water, ready to push her under. Oh yes, Electra could fight back; Nadine had left a spot of shadow behind her, Electra could lash out, could have a vine chomp on her neck, or throw her away, or strike from her own inked body….
And then Electra let go. She relaxed, brought up her arms, and let the vines all vanish. She felt the wires of Nadine’s Stand wrap her, Nadine already looking away. She was tugged, a second crystal stunning her completely, though she had no intention to resist. In that instant, Nadine’s face was obscured in brilliant, terrible light.
Part of Electra giddily wondered if this is what Aisha had felt, the unmerciful resolve, cable digging into her skin. The vines of her own Stand came from the ground, into the water, acting as a ground, something Nadine wouldn’t see.
A part of her was grateful she wouldn’t, that Nadine would not see her so vulnerable, see her in any weakness.
A part of her knew this would really fucking hurt.
Electra hadn’t looked away. That’s something that she was proud of, that she kept her eyes open, didn’t go under, didn’t look away.
It took her a minute after Nadine had relented, thinking her unconscious, had took her down.
She fucking hurt. Every nerve on her body felt like it was fried, and Electra couldn’t move anything properly. It was all she could do to breathe, to keep awake and think. But she could think. Nadine couldn’t see her eyes, thought she was still unconscious.
Electra felt vines sprout from her face, wrap around her limbs, two tiny ones in her mouth to move it. She stood up, looking down at the catatonic Nadine. There was a brief, fleeting thought of finishing things here, but as she breathed, she forced her mouth into speech. There was only one way, only one thing she could ever do to try and fix things. As she spoke in her raw, hoarse voice, Nadine looked up in shock, acted on instinct.
“Rock, paper…”

The two sat next to each other. There was a pile of documents, of hard drives, and mercifully no congratulations. Nobody had ‘won’ the fight, but the desert had accepted the other game.
Electra kept a hand to her neck, remembering the feeling of drowning, of pain, of having every part of her body crying out for help. She felt sick. Everything hurt. But she could still talk.
“I’m sorry.” The statement was simple, but she had to force it out, carrying far more weight than Nadine could ever know.
“I made you do this. This was my idea, but when I saw you, looking like…like me, I wanted it to stop. I wanted to stop. I didn’t try and calm down when you opened up to me. I didn’t try to listen to you. To help. I thought I did, kind of, but a part wanted to see if you could be taken down. I’m envious. And then when I saw that resolve, I…I did what I’d thought everyone else had done. I betrayed you. You brought me here, and I hurt you.”
“What’s wrong with you, Nadine? What the hell's wrong with me?“ She began to sniffle, wrapping her arms around herself and digging her trimmed nails into her tawny skin.
“I haven’t always been…like this, you know.” She made a half-hearted gesture to her face. “But in a way, I always have. Let me ask you a question. When you look at me now, what do you see? Do you see me? Or do you see an empty, black void?”
“No.” Nadine whispered. Then silence. Electra moved her hand so it rested inches away from Nadine’s.
“Well, it’s a trick question. The answer is that there’s no difference. I was hollow…I still am. I have one big aspiration, and it’s to get to the top, no matter what. Win and win. But look at me now. Still empty.”
“I don’t have any answers for you. I didn’t give you anything. I think…maybe I took something away. I thought I hated you, but I…I can’t. I won’t. I won’t let you become someone I’d hate. I don’t care if you leave me here. I’d deserve it. But I don’t know what to do now. Anything that’s inside me is so…fucking unpleasant. I don’t know what to chase after.” Her face felt hot and wet and numb.
“You were right. This was useless. I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. I don’t know what to say. I can’t fix anything. I’m just fucked up.” She gagged. “I…whatever it is, whatever the answer is, it can’t be…that…this. It can’t fucking be this.”
Nadine grabbed her hand, looking intently at her face. “No…” Her voice was a hesitant, awed whisper. “It isn’t.” Electra wilted at the intensity of her stare. “You aren’t empty. Look.”
She pointed to one of the walls, and Electra looked at her reflection, her eyes sullen, puffy and red-
Her eyes. They widened, black encroaching on them, but dripping out onto her hands as tears. For the first time in years, she saw her eyes, hers. Green and gross with one of her contacts slipping, but still hers.
She didn’t wipe them. Once her tears were gone, the shadow would return, but….
She had to leave. There were no answers here. She squeezed Nadine’s hand.
“I want to go home.”

(Shoutouts to the team of Atrocity Exhibition for the match concept and write up!)
Scenario: Suburb of Belgrade, Serbia — 2:16 PM
This used to be a hospital, but it clearly hadn't been used like that for some time. Orange and purple paint streaked the walls like blood, the foliage inside grew even more dense, the sickly-sweet air growing more humid by the moment. The hallways were packed with people, but Brandy Judge could hardly linger as she was rushed higher into the complex.
She was no stranger to working with other criminals, even those with weird theming—one of her teams’ collaborators commissioned himself a weaponized fursuit, after all. But this was on a whole other level—if anything, this overrun hospital brought to mind the one she infiltrated on a rescue mission in Tunisia. Thankfully, there were no no plant-overrun zombies around, just people in cultish garb, she reassured herself, before preparing herself to meet with their leader.
In the room that once was a hospital administrators’ office, lounging on a throne made of plants, metal, and wood was Frederick Loverman, or rather, what was left of him after his untimely demise in the Algerian desert. He looked far different than the last time Brandy saw him- when the two butted heads while searching for information in a Moroccan bazaar.
”Well well, it’s been some time, hasn’t it, Ms. Judge?” The former Atrocity Exhibition leader smirked, basking in the singular ray of sunshine that streamed through a hole in the roof, the only source of light in the room. Brandy couldn’t help but notice the obvious.
“Dude, what the fuck happened to you? You…you look like a houseplant.” Brandy tried to project confidence into her voice, though she couldn’t help but think about Tunisia. But had to be something else, something to do with his reported death at the hands of COLOSSI’s Sovereign.
Frederick sneered a moment, before the expression curled into a smile. The former human looked to be half nature spirit and half corpse. He tapped the arm of his throne with an arm of twisted wood as he watched his former adversary with gleaming blue-gold eyes.
“It's a bit too much to explain, but you’re here for business, not my personal life.” Frederick laughed. “I’m glad you were open to my probe. I have no lack of followers, but they still retain their human weaknesses. I am in need of Stand users to help me in my campaign. I have eventually decided that you might be able to help.”
“Everyone else turned you down, didn’t they? Not much of a surprise, you look like a real creep.” Brandy tried very hard to keep her gaze above Frederick’s thorny crown as she spoke. She did not want to stare too long at the large, maw-like wound in his abdomen. It pulsed with whatever vine-like cobalt organs kept Frederick alive.
She hadn’t seen the fight with Mx. Wah, but she had heard the rumors. Brandy found herself having to swallow a sudden jolt of anger. Sure, Frederick was an absolute son-of-a-bitch, but to do something like that to a person…It was unthinkable. Not to mention the fact it must have made him into this thing.
Frederick simply shot Brandy a sneer. ”I see you haven’t lost your attitude,” he glowered down at her, as the golden roses adorning his body ruffled angrily.
Brandy’s ward, Evelyn, stood next to her, steepling their hands as they glanced between her and Frederick. She was the one who contacted Brandy, as she was currently working on Frederick’s behalf. “Let’s just, uh, move to the deal.”
”Of course, Evelyn. Let us continue.” Frederick gave a wide grin and shuffled to clasp his hands together, gesturing towards Brandy. Evelyn shuffled uncomfortably at that. ”But regardless…You have a bone to pick with the Millennium Collection, don’t you?”
Brandy’s eyes narrowed. “Well, I- Wait…I thought they were your boss?”
Frederick seemed agitated at that, slamming his wooden hand against the arm of his chair. “Those fools control me no longer! I am my own ruler!”
“Yeah…gotcha.” Brandy shrugged. “So…you want me to beat up some guys?”
“In essence, yes. Specifically, I want you to target their financial department in Bulgaria. It’s been exceedingly weak as of late, and my team has been able to siphon both information and funding. We see it as a perfect first step in our greater fight against the Collection.”
“Sure, sure. Not the first time someone’s hired me for this, probably won’t be the last.” She thumped her fists. “Just…break shit, steal things?”
“…Sure, you could put it that way,” Frederick rolled his uncanny eyes. “Evelyn here will escort you there, and we can take care of the details on the w-”
“Wait.” She raised her voice, interrupting Frederick. As Frederick gave her another glare, she met it with a defiant look in her eyes. “I’m not doing this for free. I’m here looking for information…specifically, info on my mom.”
“Your…mother?” Frederick seemed surprised by that for a moment, before he started laughing. His laughter was mirrored and distorted sixfold phantom voices, emanating from the darkened corners of the room. “Oh, you are far from the first, Brandy Judge. Another…contractor was looking for information on a lost love, and Evelyn here…actually came to me for a similarly personal matter!”
Evelyn glanced away, and Brandy gave her a brief curious look before turning back to look at Frederick. “…Sure, whatever, but if you’ve got anything on my mom, I want it now.”
”Why, I haven’t even started looking. But I assure you, as soon as my acolytes find what you’re looking for…We’ll get it to you.” Frederick leaned forwards, combing through his hair with the wooden claws of his hand. ”But I’m curious…why come here for this information? Our last meeting was a competition, which you lost. But here you are. Why? Couldn’t you have just…put her face on some posters? Milk cartons, maybe?” he smirked.
“She’s…deep in the criminal scene here, I’m pretty sure, at least.”
”Ah, of course, of course. Maybe she too became caught in the gears of Millenium Collections’ horrific machine…” He settled back into his seat, stealing blatant glances in Evelyn’s direction that even Brandy could notice. ”I’ll tell you what. Complete this mission for me, and maybe you’ll even kill two birds with one stone!”
“Maybe, maybe.” Brandy rolled her shoulders, and gave Frederick one final glance. “But you’d better fulfill the end of your bargain”
But of course! Look at Evelyn over there, she’s one of my most faithful associates.” He gestured out towards Evelyn, who was already turned away, glancing at her phone.
“Alright, fuck up the finances, get my mom back. Easy peasy.” Brandy turned around towards Evelyn. “Let’s move.”
”Yes, let’s.” Frederick grinned, and stood up from his chain. He extended his hands out, the flowers in his body rustling as he gave them both a glowing, fanged grin. “May this be the first fallen domino in the path that will decimate the Collection.”
Brandy was already bored and uneasy, walking away with Evelyn with a shiver down her spine. The two left the room, back into the winding halls of the colorful, floral complex, she let herself vocalize her thoughts. “Jeez, he’s…somehow even creepier since last time.”
Evelyn only gave a look of understanding as the two walked silently back out the hospital.
Scenario: Provincial Istanbul, Turkey — 5:37 PM
Before the Byzantine Empire gave way to the Ottomans, it spent the millennium in a state of change. It flourished, and then deteriorated, and then flourished again. Yet, through every victory and each defeat, the empire endured. It seemed infallible, too massive to die. But by the start of the 11th century, the empire’s troubles were piling up. It lost territory after territory, bled wealth into neighboring republics, and suffered repeated attacks on its Balkan territories. The Crusades became a terrible power struggle with the West which ended in the first loss of Constantinople, and though the Byzantines barely managed to wrest it back, by then it was already too late. Its infallible status had been chipped away; the Ottoman empire was rising, and quickly swallowed the remains of the Byzantines. However, even the Ottomans were worn away by the sands of time and social upheaval. Following a series of horrific wars and subsequent defeats, the Ottomans lost their grip and became Turkey. After 1500 combined years, two of the most powerful empires in the world were no more.
However, limping on from their fall was the Millennium Collection, clinging onto power with snaking tendrils coiled around the region, one of which is its Financial District, a clotted cluster of buildings located throughout the Balkans, with the main center sitting in the heart of Bulgaria. Much like the Collection itself, the District is a labyrinth of cubicles, spreadsheets, and bank accounts, heaving with ill-gotten gains. It is large enough that someone could regain access to his account and start siphoning money without the Collection even noticing. For a little while, at least.
But “Final Judgement” Alalu, leader of the Millennium Collection, has finally caught Frederick’s scent. While she did not care to spend the resources on pulling weeds, it’s clear he means to become a nuisance.
So she has arranged an audience with the person who killed him.
While a recent raid on the Collection had dispatched many of her fellow high-ranking Stand users in the organization's upper echelons, and ousted the former Final Justice, there was a silver living. Alalu had been informed by the late Crammentazenta, assistant to one Solsbury Hill, that COLOSSI was willing to reach out. So reach out she did.
Mx. Wah had heard that the leader of the Millennium Collection lived in a big island estate, but was surprised to be invited to a cozy log cabin, deep in the woods outside of Istanbul. The door opened to reveal a middle-aged Turkish woman, eyes creased with smile lines.
Wah squinted, before flashing her a sharp-toothed smile of their own. “Have no fear…the Wah is here!”
The woman chuckled, before nodding once, inviting them inside. The moment she turned around, Wah rolled their eyes at her crucifix jewelry, before following behind. The cabin’s interior was predictably quaint, though Wah was surprised to see it covered with animal furs and taxidermy. Yeesh, they thought to themselves. At least Wah has some sense of interior decor. But this meeting was all about putting differences aside for the sake of business. At least there aren’t any…antique record players, the Sovereign shuddered.
Wah draped themselves on the nearest armchair, watching as Alalu poured them both cups of steaming tea, before she took a seat.
“It’s an honour to finally meet you, Mx. Wah,” she began.
“It’s an honour for Wah to meet you too, Judge Judy.”
She gave that one a hearty chuckle. “Please, call me Asli. I’ll be honest though, dear…I’m surprised you agreed to this, after all the trouble our organizations have caused each other.”
Wah shrugged, adding six sugar cubes to their teacup. “Please, that’s in the past, Wah’s already forgotten. There’s no point in fighting, Wah would rather not explode both gangs in a big firestorm. That’d just play into our enemies hands~” They reached forwards for their tea, before grabbing a sugar cube and popping it into their mouth instead.
Asli nodded, casually retrieving the project she was working on. It appeared to be a massive strip of leather, though its surface was tangled with dried blue vines and golden flowers. “Indeed,” she responded, continuing to clean the strange hide. “I called you here because of our common enemy. I found this snooping around my financial headquarters. It seems it wasn’t enough for Frederick to steal our Prestige…he’s been using it on people.”
“That thing was a whole guy!?” Wah shuddered, peeking through the hands covering their face. “Eeeewww ew ew, that’s so gross…”
“This was just a scout…I’m sure there’s more of them. It would be a pain to waste valuable resources dealing with this alone…so that’s why I’ve called you, Mx. Wah. You’ve dealt with Frederick before, and I know that you are a highly capable leader. I admire what you’ve done with COLOSSI, I hope to do the same with the Collection.”
Still crunching their sugar cube, Wah snorted. “Oh good luck, the Collection has always been a hot mess.” Ever since they were Byzantines.
“I am aware…I’ve been working for them a long time, almost forty years now.”
Wah had to hold back a laugh. That’s ‘a long time’? How adorable!
“Even if it’s a mess, it’s large enough to have its own gravity. If you ever try to leave, it simply…pulls you back in.” Quietly, Alalu looked at the only picture on her mantle. It was a faded image of her a couple decades ago, standing with a man and a child. Even there, she looks distracted, as if her spirit resides elsewhere. “I’m sure you know how that feels.”
Wah glanced up from the tower they were idly building out of sugar cubes, looking rather disinterested. “Hm…? Actually, the Wah is kinda here for business, if we could get back to that.”
Alalu laughed again, looking sheepish. “Yes of course, so sorry, dearie. I’ve gotten sentimental at my age. But yes…business. You’ve already fought Loverman once. I suspect he’s planning some sort of attack. If he shows up to gloat, could you be there to finish what you’ve already started? I’ll make sure it’s worth your while, we’ll start this relationship of ours by owing you a favour. You have my word.”
Wah considered this a moment, before sticking out their hand to shake.
“Hmm…alrighty! When Wah finally destroys Frederick, somehow, Wah will figure it out, then we can have our wonderful Wahlliance!” When they gave Alalu that same sharp toothed smile, she returned it with a shake of their hand, as the Collection and COLOSSI pulled themselves closer with gravity shared.
Scenario: Sofia, Bulgaria — 3:41 AM
“Aren’t you a little too young to be going after the Millennium Collection?”
Brandy kept looking out towards the streets the two were driving by, not moving her gaze even as her Evelyn spoke to her. She smirked to herself, reclining in her seat. “Yes, yes I am.”
Evelyn squirmed in the driver’s seat as she chauffeured Brandy to her destination. They knew that her girlfriend had made amends with the girl sitting passenger after the two fought some time ago, but this whole situation put them off. “So…you’re also trying to find your mum by working with Frederick?”
“Mhm.” Brandy finally glanced back. “Freddy said something about you also having some,” she air-quotes, putting on a brief haughty air, “similarly personal matter that you went to him for. What’s that all about?”
Evelyn merely took a breath. “I found out my mom died by the Collection’s hands.”
“Oh.” Brandy looked away. “Sorry to hear that.”
“Thanks.”
“…”
“…”
Evelyn focused on driving the car deep into the Bulgarian backstreets, and after a long, awkward silence, they parked in an alleyway. “Here’s where you get off.”
“…Cool, thanks for the ride.” Brandy was quick to unbuckle her belt and hop out of the car, before Evelyn finally looked over, placing a hand on the dashboard as their gray eyes peered into Brandy’s.
“Even if you manage to find your mum because of this…she might not actually be your mum. Or she could be dead. So, uh, be prepared for all of that.”
“…right.” The worry in their voice made Brandy tense up. But she had handled a lot worse, and no matter how shifty Frederick was, this Evelyn person seemed to get what she was looking for by working with him…didn’t they?
“Okay, uh, the door to the records is just down the alleyway. Good luck.” As Evelyn drove off, Brandy was struck by the fact that despite their professional air, her driver had genuinely meant concern.
No matter. There was a job to do.
Brandy found herself facing the side of an office building, similar to the structures around it, though it was painted a worn, fleshy pink. Frederick had informed her that much of the building was underground. However, what drew Brandy’s attention was not the architecture, but the small crowd gathered around it. Noticing that these were Frederick’s ‘acolytes’, she approached, only to jump back as one turned to look at her. Their eyes were glazed with gold, palled skin crawling with yellow blossoms. It was the closest look she had gotten at one of them, after being rushed through the hospital to meet Frederick.
Suddenly, memories of that horrific excursion struck her like lightning, her hands trembling as she remembered shocking one of those afflicted P-zombies to death. This wasn’t the same as the P-Virus in Tunisia, she reminded herself. It couldn’t be. Which meant…there was more than one. Brandy tried to compose herself, before the acolyte spoke.
“You are Brandy, the one that our Lord sent to command us. What are your orders?”
Brandy felt her stomach tie itself in a knot. Their Lord? Seriously? But of course, this was Frederick; she should have expected this. She wasn’t sure why this was just now upsetting her. But the memories of that rescue mission kept tangling through her mind. The realization that she was dealing with another plant-infested, god-complex maniac, and that she was helping him? It was almost too much to handle.
The acolyte was still looking at her, waiting for orders. Brandy squeezed her eyes shut, fighting the wave of nausea and bitter rage.
She didn’t want to look at it anymore. She didn’t want to remember.
“Just…go on ahead. Fuck them up. I don’t care. Just get- get away from me.”
The sound of footsteps surrounded Brandy, before vanishing into the building. When all was silent, Brandy took a deep breath, opening her eyes. To stop her hands from trembling, she held them. Maybe, maybe when she found her mother, she could hold her hand instead.
“Just get through this, Brandy. Just let them handle themselves, steal as much cash as you can carry, and figure out where she is. You can do this. You can do this.”
With one more breath, Brandy steeled herself and entered the Financial building. The place was mostly silent as she circled the stairwell into the lower levels, taking her time within the isolated. She could hear distant gunshots throughout the building, and tried to ignore them. Maybe if she spiraled down this staircase for long enough, it would already be over.
That was when a new sound tore through the building—the horrible, distorted cry of a wolf. As Brandy frantically looked around, she could see the ghastly pattern of faces in the brickwork. Whatever this was, it probably meant shit was going sideways. As little as Brandy wanted to deal with this, she knew that if she blew this mission she lost her chance at information. She had to at least check.
When Brandy finally burst through the nearest door to find out what was happening, she walked right into a group of acolytes, staring down at one of their fellow followers, whose leg was currently caught in a strange sort of bear trap.
As Brandy tried to swallow her fear, tried to figure out what the hell to do, gunshots echoed through the ceiling above her, before they suddenly went silent. Brandy could feel it, someone was approaching. As 「Concrete Schoolyard」 gleamed within her ring, she braced herself for the appearance of some horrific, sadistic crime boss. But the door opened to reveal a middle-aged Turkish woman, her eyes creased with smile lines. Brandy blinked, staring her down with wary confusion.
“Oh, you must be Brandy! How nice to meet you, dear,” the woman greeted warmly. “I’ve heard about your exploits, it’s always nice to see a capable young woman making a name for herself in the Mediterranean. I only wish I could offer you some tea, but…”
Brandy unlaced her fingers and raised her hands defensively. “Ah- what? No, I- you’re definitely with them. You have to be. Who the hell are you!?”
Taking those words as a sign to attack, the acolytes started forwards, guns drawn. Before Brandy could stop them or join them, the woman simply smiled.
“Howl, 「Wolf Murder」.”
The moment the guns fired, the air around her twisted with deep red light. The air filled with the sound of metal striking metal, and then it was over.
Towering above the woman was a massive, hulking form. Its powerful body was completely flayed, revealing red, raw musculature wrapped in layers of thick pelts. Blood dripped over its face from beneath the wolf’s head that it wore atop its own. Between the taxidermy and its own visage, three glassy wolf eyes glared the acolytes down with black and golden rage.
“Let me deal with these weeds first, dearie.” Her smile was warm as blood.
「We Will Commit Wolf Murder」 bared its fangs as the acolytes charged towards the threat. Snarling, it unfurled a massive skinning knife from its back, a blade nearly as long as Brandy herself. With a single, arcing slice, every acolyte was cleanly sliced in two. Their flayed bodies were flung about the room with the force of the blow, blue flesh squirming with yellow blossoms, which began to writhe and die without the life energy of their hosts. The leathery pelts that peeled from their bodies rained everywhere, joined by pelts stripped from the walls, the floor, everything, all of them twisting into yet more grinning jaw traps. Brandy watched with horror and nausea and anger. Why did everyone take lives so fucking lightly!?
“My name is Alalu, Final Judgement of the Millennium Collection,” Alalu said simply, without gravitas. Even the ceiling in front of her was torn open by the arc of the blade. “I promise, I mean you no harm, dear. I’m simply trying to protect my pack.”
Brandy, unable to summon the words that would express her utter exhaustion, instead turned to the acolyte caught in the trap. Kneeling, she used 「Concrete Schoolyard」 to change the trap into a gelatinous substance that she could pry apart. The acolyte stared at her, shaking, unsure of what to do.
“Just- just hide in the stairwell! I’ll handle it!”
Brandy watched them weakly pull themselves towards the door, before she noticed those same twisting faces in the tile below. Running on reflex, she terraformed the floor upwards to shield them…just as a desktop computer SMASHED into the surface, aimed right at their head.
Her gaze snapped up, only to watch a figure descend from above. They leapt with startling grace, their pale hair drifting around them as they gazed down with eyes as dark as the abyss, and sharp fangs gleaming with hunger.
The killing intent that radiated off of them was ancient and absolute.
Then they took a better look at Brandy…and a switch flipped.
“Awawa? Ooops! You’re not Freddy…Wah’s mistake!” They smiled sheepishly, poking their cheek with a finger. Brandy sucked in a breath as she realized who she was dealing with…before her body shook with a rage redoubled.
“You.”
“Me!” Wah landed with a little twirl, before looking to Alalu. “Business homie…is this little scamp bothering you?”
“Are you fucking kidding- you two are working together?”
Alalu nodded, before looking at Wah.
“I’m glad you could join us, Mx. Wah. Miss Brandy seems to have fallen in with some unfortunate company,” she sighed, before looking back to the young woman in question. “We have come to an agreement. Both the Collection and COLOSSI fill important roles in the social ecosystem. We have a duty to fight…invasive species.”
Alalu looked between the two for a moment, before smiling. “But this gives us an opportunity…you’re both Stand users, and it is the nature of Stand users to seek each other out, and prove which one is stronger. I’m quite curious about the answer to that question…so I’ll tell you what. Whoever wins, I’ll compensate you. We’ve got a bit of money stored away…I’ll even take you out for tea,” she beamed.
Then, before Wah or Brandy could agree or disagree, Alalu’s legs took on the flayed appearance of her Stand, and she leapt through the ceiling and out of sight.
That left Brandy Judge and Mx. Wah, standing amidst the corpses and their pelts.
“Sure thing, homie!” Wah called after Alalu, before turning back to Brandy and raising a brow. What a shame they wouldn’t be facing Frederick himself. It was just like him to send someone else. Still…Wah knew well that they were stronger than a little whelp like this. This was an arrangement they made as the leader of COLOSSI, and they were not about to be schooled by some petulant kid up past her bedtime.
If Brandy and her little smugglers’ ring really wanted to play with the big dogs, Wah’d bite. They weren’t worried, this was just another little rebel to quash on their way to the top. It would be fun! With a sharp-toothed smile, the Sovereign gestured Brandy forwards with a curl of their fingers.
Brandy stared at them a moment, shaking as that other plant-infected basement seeped into the corners of her vision. But her mind and body focused itself with the click of the stairwell door behind her. Everywhere she looked, there was a new megalomaniac trying to play god. The Mediterranean itself felt diseased. But here and now, she could fight back. She could prevent the meaningless slaughter, she could make up for what she did.
Then, one day, she’ll be safe with her mother, somewhere far away in a place she bought with the money she stole from this big, stupid empire. She’ll hold her mother’s hand, give her a smile, and tell her about the time she beat up a crime boss.
As Wah and Brandy started forwards, they finally, wordlessly agreed.
This is the next step towards their ambitions. As Stand users, they must fight.
It’s in their nature.
OPEN THE GAME! (Shoutouts to u/AusterCab for the match art!)
Location: In the financial department of the Millennium Collective, the area here is 30 by 40 meters with each tile being 2 by 2 meters. The ceiling of this area is 4 meters tall. Brandy and Wah start on opposite sides of the map as represented by their character tokens.
The light purple tiles represent the hallways between rooms, and the doors between hallways and office space are represented by Purple Rectangles. The Red tiles areas are meeting rooms, the Yellow tile areas are cubicle spaces, the Green tile areas are break rooms, and the White tile areas are supply closets. The rooms contain everything you’d expect to find in an office space.
The “X” eyed faces are the bodies of dead acolytes and the 6-pointed shapes are 「Wolf Murder」 Pelts jaw traps.
Wah starts next to a watercooler, a dolly and a vending machine.
Goal: RETIRE your opponent!
Additional Information: 「Wolf Murder」 has the ability to skin the surface of objects and turn these skins into ‘Pelts’, which can then be shaped for their own uses. Though the user has a much higher proficiency working with them, others can shape unshaped Pelts by hand and get them to hold form or stick to other objects.
The 「Wolf Murder」 Pelts on this map are shaped into working jaw traps and will snap shut in response to pressure. If broken, they will revert to torn pieces of unshaped Pelts, with damage corresponding to how the shaped version is destroyed.
With unshaped Pelts, players can shape them to wrap around objects, or shape them into functional simple traps such as snares and jaw traps. More complex shapes take longer to make.
Pelts are B Durability with the rough consistency ranging between that of a thick fur pelt and antique steel, or a strange hybrid of both depending on how they are shaped, or more specifically how the person shaping it generally wants them to be shaped.
Both characters’ Stands can treat Pelts like any other object.

A few weeks ago…
Another member of the all-but defunct Atrocity Exhibition landed at the foot of the island of the great, dreaded Cyclops, an island filled with traps, mostly made out of rope, designed to snare both beast and man. Dirty Ghost easily evaded these rope traps with its own mastery of the material.
There was abundant wildlife: goats and bees, making honey and cheese enough to sustain it another week, perhaps even the whole remainder of its journey home. Still, it reasoned there must be some owner of these traps and of these animals, and once the Cyclops rears its head from its cave, the Ghost hatched a ploy.
Very good, mastermind of war, came the voice of Izuru. The monster’s Perception is his weakness, trick him like Odysseus before you, and your own Skill should prove superior.
As Odysseus played the part of ‘nobody,’ the Ghost played ‘somebody,’ pleading for its life as the Cyclops, hard of sight and unknowing of what a human truly is, grasped it in its palm.
A precarious situation for any man, in the palm of a giant, but this was no man- this was Dirty Ghost. With its own ropes, and those stolen from its would-be captor, Dirty Ghost escaped the Cyclops’ grasp to rappel up the giant’s shoulder, shedding its mask and showcasing its true self- the true ‘Nobody’ it should fear.
Something to know, came the voice of the late Dr. Lister, you can reach the brain easily from the eyes.
Suffice to say, it did. As for the monster’s animals…the stoic Ghost was alone no longer. If it is made to feel like a hunting beast, or a trapped animal…perhaps it could seek some comfort in the other creatures. Still, its loneliness did not abate. Out there on the ocean, it has not yet found the place where it belongs.
