2023.06.02 00:27 tringlespeed route keeps crashing on Wahoo Roam

I was bikepacking in New Mexico a few weekends ago (following this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39526740, synced on to my Wahoo via RWGPS) and was having issues getting the route to remain showing on my Wahoo Roam v1. Roughly, what would happen is that when I loaded the route, it would work for a while, and then eventually restart my Wahoo (usually this only happened if I was recording a ride) and the route would no longer appear, or sometimes it would just disappear and revert to showing my metrics without restarting (if I wasn't recording a ride, these would all be blank).
I split the route up into four smaller routesand synced those to my Wahoo and continued to have issues, but less frequently. I also met another rider on the route who said that the same route was giving him a similar issue on his Wahoo (I didn't confirm what Wahoo device he was using).
I couldn't really identify what the actual root cause of the problem was, but here are some things I noticed:
-Sometimes the route would stay active for hours, and sometimes it would disappear every few minutes, and I'd have to reload it again
-Sometimes it seemed that if I loaded the route while moving, eventually I'd be asked if I wanted to start my ride. when I chose no, sometimes the route would disappear
-It would only fully crash and reboot when I was also recording the ride, otherwise the route and turn by turn directions just seemed to disappear
I navigated a different, 130 mile route last weekend on the same Roam, and had no issues. I'm currently in a back and forth with Wahoo support, but they're not providing me with much assistance. Has anyone else experienced this?

2023.06.01 23:46 Slaught3rMelon Golden Dreams A Treasure Hunter RP

Spanish occupation of Lima Peru in the 16th century led to a large amount of wealth amassed in the city during the centuries thereafter by the Roman Catholic Church. In the early 1800s, Spain began to experience difficulties in its South American colonies as revolts took place. Peru followed suit and an evacuation took place in 1820. During the evacuation, the viceroy of Lima ordered the riches collected there to be transported to Mexico for safekeeping.
Captain William Thompson of the Mary Dear was entrusted with this cargo and agreed to transport it. However, it never reached its destination. Captain Thompson and his crew killed the Spanish guards onboard and set off for Cocos Island off the coast of present day Costa Rica, where they were said to have buried their cargo and split up to later reconvene and divvy up the spoils.
After the cargo was offloaded, the Mary Dear was captured by the Spanish and the crew was executed for piracy. Thompson and his first mate were spared in exchange for the location of the treasure, but when the Spanish took them to the supposed place it was hidden, the pirates escaped into the jungle never to be seen again.
It is said that no clues were left behind as to the location of the treasure, lost to time. However, what if there were? What if the pirates left clues so discreet that they could only be found and deciphered by the most clever of treasure hunters? Well that’s where this story begins.
.
Hello!
First of all, if you’ve read this far, thank you. I’ve gotten the itch for a globe-trotting, action-packed treasure hunting story in the last couple of days and this is my attempt to scratch it. I realize this is a little barebones, but I was hoping we could flesh out the details together!
I am a literate roleplayer, usually typing around 3-5 paragraphs in 3rd person past-tense. On days I am off work, I can get multiple replies in as I usually don’t do much. However, on days I’m working replies may be more sparse depending on how busy work is. I’m a bartender who keeps an odd sleep schedule so it really just depends.
As far as what I’m looking for, mainly just someone who can supply a good time writing a cool story as well as someone I can get along well with ooc. It’s always a plus to make a new friend.
If you wouldn’t mind sending me a writing sample and a little about yourself, that would be great!
18+ only, and preferably 21+ as I am 26.
Look forward to hearing from you!

2023.06.01 23:44 PandaddyPancakes SE Colorado 1-2 night backpacking trip suggestions.

I had been planning to take my 15 year old son in his first overnight to Colorado next weekend. We were looking at San Isabel around waterdog lakes or Sanger de Cristo around lakes of the clouds. Looking at the forecast and reports looks like a lot of snow still up that way and still cold/snowy conditions.
Background is that I am 41 And have some backpack camping experience and still fairly active. He is 15 and runs cross country, this will be his first overnight. We have 20 degree rated bags and have lived from Minnesota to Texas so we kind of like weather.
Any recommendations for a 2-3 day trip where we can get some time in the mountains. Less people is better. Lol. I want something moderately challenging and easy to abort if it turns out he just hates it. Something in the realm of the earlier mentioned hikes would be nice. We are driving from Texas so my range was probably Salida to Pueblo area. Also looking at some options in NE New Mexico.
Thanks!

2023.06.01 23:41 themocaw Aloft has this enormous red zone across all of SoCal and parts of Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Looked it up and found these:
https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_3_4218.html
TFR for West Hollywood on June 4
https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_3_4224.html
TFR for Calexico starting June 4.
https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_3_4223.html
TFR for Coyote Wells starting June 4.
Does anyone know what's happening this weekend that's triggering all this? And why the heck is the red zone so huge?
EDIT: West Hollywood TFR appears to be for Pride Parade. Cool. But still not sure why the red zone goes all the way into Nevada. How big is this parade gonna be?

2023.06.01 23:35 RaptorK1988 The Pacific US States vs The Gulf of Mexico States vs Atlantic States vs the Great Lakes States

The Federal Government dissolves and every nuke and the materials needed to make more are destroyed. The Federal troops remain and fight in and for the states they're based in though.
These new factions emerge; Pacific Ocean States: Cali, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska
Gulf of Mexico States: Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama
Great Lake States: New York, PA, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana
Atlantic Coast States: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, DE, NJ, CT, Massachusetts
The rest of New England, Montana and the Dakotas join Canada. The other states are independent but that can change
Which faction is the strongest? Which has the most potential? Which will seek to expand? Which will fall?

2023.06.01 23:35 IllustratorOdd2701 First time buyer but not first time user.

Middle School science teacher and at my old school we had a 10" Dobsonian and an Omni Xlt 150. I took the Dob home for the summer one year and due to its size, I think I used it twice. It was just too much to haul it out of the basement or garage to set it up. Is the 8" that more portable or should I go with something even smaller? I didn't hate the Omni and enjoyed the viewing position. I would rather not have electronic go to systems. Buy once, cry once is my goal. We are heading to New Mexico this summer and I want to bring it along. Budget is $1000. Thanks for the input. Astrophotography is not a goal.

2023.06.01 23:07 Apprehensive-Heat884 Entertaining educational story of new agent blunder

I've just started working as a 10-99 agent since last september, I am brand new to the insurance industry work life and health at a brokerage in WA State.
In any case, I've done fairly well, since I started. In fact, I've done so well I that on a particularly good month in march i decided after having enjoyed a week long vacation in Mexico that I would book tickets to Europe for another nearly 3 week long vacation. My cousins had rented an airbnb and invited me and my wife to stay with them at no extra cost. So I book the entire thing with no refund, thinking I'll just work harder to make up. The following month turns out to be disastrous for me as I slack the first half of the month due to closing a good amount of deals early on. Of course, the pressure started to mount and by the second half of thce month I'm calling and prospecting like crazy but to no avail, suddenly no one wants to book a single appointment leaving me $5k from where I needed to be before leaving.
I thought about cancelling, but then I rationalized to myself that I should go anyway since I have already spent a lot of money and I plenty of savings. "The experience is what counts, I'll regret it if don't go etc."
Now I'm in credit card debt and I have a few thousand dollars left in my account. Oh and my wife is unemployed.
I fully take responsibility that this was my fault and a result of very poor planning. I will never underestimate my ability to screw things up to this degree again.
I'm basically putting everything I have into buying leads and if I go broke then I'm going to get a job.
All that being said, anyone reading this who is new and commission only take heed and SAVE your money when you do well. Please don't follow my example and never assume what your income will be! Prepare for the worst and when it comes be glad you took the precautions necessary to weather the storm.
