2023.06.02 00:44 JetGamez103 How do you keep yourself functioning

This might be a little long and boring sorry but I need help! For some context I'm 16 years old with like most of you a list of complications longer than my arm. My main problem is my period. It's 21 days and has me vommiting and passing out and has ruined my life. I've been dealing with abnormally severe periods since I was 9. The past two years my school attendance has been under 20%.
I love school unlike most kids. And I feel pretty caged by my body and even though I try not to, I sometimes wonder what I would be doing now if I wasn't sick. How much more accomplished I'd be and how average I'd be at the same time. I want to be an Innocent teenage girl like most.
I've been working for almost a year on a passion project doing research and advocating for teenage care in my country. I've completed and I also did my first year of part time college. I am doing a course in women's health. I want to leave here and go to somewhere with an ivy League school. I've got dreams and ambitions. I don't mean this in a conceited way but I feel like my intelligence is wasted in such a broken body.
I've been trying to get up and do things on bad days. Even if it means crawling around the floor for five minutes. But I just don't know what to do with myself now. I'm at a point where I'm waiting to hear back from people for my project. I can't seem to focus on reading. I don't like TV but I feel so bored. I'm stuck staring at the white walls of my room not wanting to be stuck to my phone. Not wanting to sleep all the time.
So what do you guys do on days where you can't get out of bed. Because I just want to feel productive and not like I'm wasting away my teenage life being nothing more than a sick kid.

2023.06.02 00:42 thelastjellybaby Immediate thoughts on the Series 16 Line-up (SPOILERS)

As Series 15 finishes in my Top 5 series of Taskmaster of all time, the Series 16 line-up is revealed - and for the first time in five series, I’m not quite sure!
I haven’t seen enough of Julian to gage him, I’ve never even heard of Sam Campbell, and I’ve only ever seen Lucy in her stuff with Jon Richardson and their whole “we’re married and we hate each other” shtick just grates on me.
Having said that, Sue Perkins has been on my list of TM wants since I had one, and Susan Wokoma wasn’t but should have been! She was great in Year of the Rabbit.
RE Sam, I’ve genuinely never heard of him. Is Taskmaster being set up to replace Mock The Week in introducing new talent to the wider world?
Some rambles about the new line-up. I don’t know. The last time I wasn’t sure about a lineup was Series 10 and that’s probably my least favourite series. :(

2023.06.02 00:42 ck2rpg Teaching 5 year old to dribble

This group gave wonderful answers to my last question about my little one (thank you!) and pointed me to Soccer Starts at Home, which has been really helpful. I’m trying to help my five year old son learn correct dribbling technique, but he tends to just use inside of his feet because he is used to it so he goes faster. Any tips for helping a little one move away from that? Thanks in advance!

2023.06.02 00:36 disciplesglobal HIS REPEATED WARNING

Christ’s ‘Olivet Discourse’ is comprised of instructions given to the disciples before his arrest and execution, and repeatedly in it, he warns that “many deceivers” and “false prophets” will come and propagate false information about his return and the end of the age, therefore, constant vigilance is necessary to avoid deception.
His discourse begins with a warning to “beware lest anyone deceive you.” Liars and charlatans will come in his name and “deceive MANY.” Likewise, “MANY false prophets” will come, not just a few, and they will target the “elect” of God with their false teachings. And in these sayings of Jesus, the stress is on the term “MANY” - (Matthew 24:4-11, 24:23-24, 24:26).
The contents of their teachings include false information about the return of the “Son of Man.” False prophets will claim that he “is here” or “there,” or that he is “in the wilderness” or “in the secret chambers.” Some of them will set false expectations about the imminence of his return by claiming that the “SEASON HAS DRAWN NEAR” - (Matthew 24:23-26, Luke 21:8).
Disciples will “hear of wars and reports of wars,” and deceivers will point to wars, earthquakes, and similar calamities as “signs” that the “end” is near.
Certainly, wars, seismic activities, and famines occur over the course of human history; however, they are NOT indicators of the end’s proximity. They constitute “birth pains,” evidence of the inevitable end of the present age. Nevertheless, as Jesus stated, the “END IS NOT YET.” Such events cannot be used to calculate the timing of the end - (Matthew 24:4-6).

And Jesus warns his followers that “no one knows the day and hour, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, EXCEPT THE FATHER ALONE.” For emphasis, he ends this declaration with the term “alone,” which is emphatic in the Greek sentence. The Father is the ONLY exception to the rule, period.
He repeats this warning at least four times in the Olivet Discourse. Additionally, he states that believers do not know “on what kind of day” he will come, for he is coming “at an hour you do not expect.” The version in Mark adds that we do not know “when the SEASON is” - (Matthew 24:42-44, 24:50, 25:13, Mark 13:32-35).
Jesus made his most complete warning about the timing of that day prior to his ascension. When the disciples asked when he would restore the kingdom, he replied, “It is NOT for you to know TIMES or SEASONS, which the Father has set within His own authority.” The Greek nouns rendered “times” and “seasons” are both in the plural number and together, they cover virtually any way one might wish to delimit time - (Acts 1:7-8).

Rather than calculate chronologies and timetables, Christ’s disciples must concern themselves with proclaiming the gospel to all nations. THAT is the mission assigned to the church by Jesus. But in the interim between his ascension and return, they must always remain prepared for his sudden and unexpected arrival. And it is because they do not and cannot know the timing of the end that believers must be ready at every moment of every day for his appearance - (Matthew 24:14, 24:42-44, 25:13, Mark 13:32-36).
The ‘Olivet Discourse’ is NOT a detailed outline of future events that must occur during history’s final few years, nor does it provide a timetable by which believers can ascertain the timing of his arrival in glory.
But it certainly does provide clear and emphatic warnings about deceivers who will plague the church with deceptions and false expectations about the future, a trend that will continue for the entire period between his resurrection and return, and one that has come to characterize much of the leadership of the contemporary church.

2023.06.02 00:34 xtremexavier15 TSWT 26 (pt 2)

The episode resumed with a shot of the Final Two holding the effigies their helpers had made as Chef wheeled the person formerly in a hazmat suit in a wheelchair, their suit traded in for a full body cast.
Izzy spoke up. "Are we actually going to throw our dummies into an active volcano without any safety? That sounds lethal, even for me."
"As the saying goes, 'No excruciating pain, no million dollar gain'," Chris told her, pulling out a briefcase as a reminder then promptly tossing it away. "To help you get those dummies to the top of the volcano, you can use the rewards your teams earned on your behalf in the Aftermath Lava Surfing challenge," he continued.
"Ezekiel won a wheelbarrow. Too bad he's out," he said, the camera panning the host at the base of the volcano as the wheelbarrow rolled down next to the host, "but Alejandro gets a baby stroller," the stroller rolled down next to the wheelbarrow, "and Izzy gets diddly squat."
"What?" Mal gaped.
"Mal," Chris said, "for winning the effigy challenge, you get a twenty-second head start. So, get going!"
"Toodles," Mal said, running off with the wooden statue in his arms.
"At least this dummy's light," Izzy said, carrying it in her arms.
Mal tossed his dummy into his baby stroller as soon as he came to Chris, then ran up the slope chuckling as it did not break.
Chris watched him go with his usual smile, then turned to watch Izzy as she walked up. "Shouldn't I have the wheelbarrow if Ezekiel's not competing?" Izzy said.
"Sure, why not?" Chris said, watching Izzy put her dummy in her wheelbarrow and push it up the hill.
The scene cut to Mal running up the mountainside path at a decent rate. "It's been a long ride," he told himself, "but I'm going to claim the prize and live life comfortably!"
The camera panned down to Izzy, still pushing her effigy up the slope and panting heavily. "Why am I getting tired now of all places?" she said to herself.
"Having trouble?" Mal called out mockingly. "Maybe if you continue to run like a freak of nature, you might get to the top in time to see me win the money. But I doubt it!" he laughed, running off again.
The path soon leveled off, he passed a few bushes, then saw what was ahead and frantically skidded to a halt. He stopped right on the edge of a bubbling lava pool. "What the inferno?" he asked, the camera getting an overhead shot of the lava right before it flared up, forcing Mal to dive away with his rather flammable dummy.
Chris chuckled off-screen, and the camera zoomed out to show him and Chef standing on the other side of the lava lake. "Yoo hoo, over he~ere!" he called in a light and airy voice, waving to the malice filled man. A series of stepping stones spanned the gap between the two sides, but hanging over it from a large wooden frame were several heavy objects: from the left to right were a log, a grand piano, a safe, a simple weight, a purple armchair, a metal cage, and a bomb. The ropes holding the objects in the air ran along the framework and down to a structure near Chris and Chef, where each individual rope was tied around a long log.
"Check out the look on his face," Chris told his assistant as the camera zoomed in on them and the two men high-fived.
Izzy finally arrived at the other end of the lava pool, stopping when she saw it. "Now what?" she said in awed disbelief.
"The only way to the top of the volcano," Chris said as the camera panned across a close-up of the stepping stones, "is past this river of lava," he pointed down at the bubbling rock as the camera reached him again. "Those rewards probably won't be too helpful," he added, Mal and Izzy frowning as they stood by with their respective dummies.
"All you have to do is hop across these stepping stones," the host continued, moving over closer to the end of the path. "Easy-peasy, hot and cheesy!" he said as the lava flared up again. "Buu~uut," he added impishly as the camera panned across the hanging objects, "we've rigged a few booby traps to, that's right!"
"Make things more interesting," the two finished in annoyance.
"Chef," Chris turned to his assistant, "a booby demo, if you please!"
Chef took out a machete then turned around and chopped the first rope. The freed end quickly slid back through the wooden frame, and the log dropped onto the first stepping stone, broke, and fell into the lava with a burst of flame and a splatter of molten rock. Izzy raised an eyebrow and Mal gasped in surprise.
"Yeah, you really don't want to get hit by those," Chris told them. "Your helpers can either keep them secure," he continued, turning around and motioning to the two pairs that were standing by the tied-up ropes, "or send them falling. It's your call. Aaaand, go!"
Mal got moving first, picking up his dummy out of the stroller and running from stone to stone. Izzy lagged behind, but she still kept up.
"Chop the ropes! Now!" Mal commanded, and the shot cut over to Noah, Eva, Sky, and Shawn on the far side of the river.
"Team E-Scope, don't let them win!" Izzy cried out.
"Hold on!" Sky stopped everyone. "I don't want to fight anyone, or help out Mal."
"Me too," Shawn agreed. "I'm just here because I have too."
"I said cut the ropes!" Mal shouted forcefully.
"You two are right. Let's leave them at each other's throats," Noah said.
"Or better yet, we sabotage Mal," Eva offered.
"I'm already ahead of you!" Shawn grinned and grabbed a machete. He chopped down the rope holding the couch, and Mal took notice and jumped onto the next stone.
"Don't even think about messing with me!" Mal growled.
"Can't hear you!" Shawn mocked him as he cut a series of ropes. A bank vault, piano, and cage all fell down, but Mal effortlessly avoided all of them and eventually made it to the end.
"How were you able to avoid all of those?" Noah wondered. "That cage should've contained you."
"Mike's personalities can come in handy. I'll be taking my leave now," Mal laughed and made his way to the volcano.
Izzy reached the four helpers. "Welp, that was a bust," she griped.
"Don't just stand around complaining," Eva said. "Go to the volcano."
"And what about you guys?" Izzy asked.
"We'll catch up with you two with the helicopter Chris drove us here in," Sky added.
Izzy's face turned into determination. "Here I go! Time to stop the biggest, most baddest villain in TD history!" She let out a battlecry and dashed hastily towards the volcano.
The scene changed to a long-distance upward shot of the volcano, soon cutting to the top as the camera panned across the non-competitors, gathered in a sweaty and sweltering mass on the rim of the volcano's crater.
An upward pan of Chris holding the million-dollar suitcase revealed him standing happily in a cool breeze, the shot zooming out to show it being caused by a giant electric fan blowing air over a large ice cube being held on an intern's back. Several more ice cubes were stacked around the area, and were already beginning to melt.
"So...," Chris said to Chef, the pilot standing beside him, "know of any season three wrap parties?"
Chef didn't answer, and instead averted his gaze and walked away whistling in a very suspicious manner.
Chris frowned at him, but his expression quickly changed to excitement as he looked out over the edge of the volcano. "And here they come!" he announced as Mal was shown racing up the path with his dummy.
The shot cut to the edge of the crater as the dummy was thrown up first, followed by the villain leaping up with a dark smile on his face. He caught the dummy and grinned even more.
"Looking for this?" Chris asked as the shot cut to the million dollar case.
Mal let out a dry chuckle as he made his way to the edge of the crater.
"Stop right there!" Izzy's voice said, causing him to pause and turn around mid-way.
"Izzy," Mal said as the camera cut to the girl at the roof of the crater next to her dummy. "Can't you see I'm about to beat you? Just spare us the trouble and let me win!"
"If there's anyone who deserves to be competing against me, it should be Mike!" Izzy argued back.
"Mike is nothing to me!" Mal shouted furiously. "He should be the one left behind, not me!" That was when he inhaled sharply as his head got closer to the camera.
Suddenly, Mal began falling and landing in the pink grounds of Mike's brain.
"Urgh." Mal grunted before his eyes widened and he saw that his tower was practically rubble at this point. "Impossible. Where's my tower?" Mal asked furiously.
"It's gone Mal. It's gone for good," Mike smirked victoriously as he entered, much to Mal's anger.
"How were you able to push that button? I had that reinforced so your puny arms could not penetrate it," Mal asked angrily.
"I'm not half as weak as you think I am. It's time to end this," Mike glared at the evil alter who smirked fiendishly.
"Very well," Mal said with sadistic glee, "This should only take ten seconds." Soon, Mal and Mike charged at each other fiercely and began punching and kicking each other with so much ferocity.
Meanwhile, at the top of the volcano, Mike and Mal were having such a gigantic fight that Mike's body was thrashing itself violently much to everyone's horror.
"What is he doing?!" Owen asked in concern.
Heather stood in front of Cody protectively.
"Surrender already, you peon!" Mal grunted angrily as Mike's body continued to thrash violently.
"N-never!" Mike said confidently as he continued to claw at himself.
Noah gasped at the scene. "Mike's fighting Mal for control of his body!" Noah realized.
Inside Mike's mind, Mal tackled Mike down as the latter struggled to get himself off of the evil alter.
"Look at you, so pitiful and pathetic!" Mal hissed viciously, "You were a fool to challenge me. It's not like your friends will ever forgive you for this. How will they see you now that they know I exist?"
Mike seemed to be in thought about Mal's words but chose not to let them get to him. "I won't let you win this!" Mike raised his foot to kick Mal in the kiwis, causing Mal to release him from his hold out of instinct.
Mike pushed Mal back and began punching him, trying to keep him down but Mal did not look like he was giving in.
Back at the top of the volcano, everyone was anxiously watching the fight unfold.
"What are we gonna do?!" Sadie said in horror.
Sky seemed to be in deep thought before smiling. "We have to rally Mike on! Show him that he's not alone in this!"
"I'm on it," Shawn nodded before speaking up. "Mike! It's me, Shawn! I just want to let you know that no one is mad at you about Mal's actions!"
"All of us are logical enough to separate Mal from Mike. It's just common sense!" Noah smiled encouragingly.
"We're all rooting for you to kick Mal's butt!" Eva added happily.
"We know you can do it," Ella encouraged.
"Mike! I just want you to know that you're my best friend and I can't imagine life without you! I know it may seem rough in there but please, we all have your back!" Sky said encouragingly.
Back in his mind, Mike smiled warmly as he heard this and Mal got up, all tattered and beaten. "Those nobodies… are idiots. I'm a part of you and they WILL see that!" Mal cried out in fury.
"You're wrong Mal! You may be a part of my mind, but everything you ever did was all you and no one else!" Mike spoke in determination.
"You always wanted me to rely on you. To make yourself feel important. That desire turned you bitter and hateful and led you to who you are today. You wanted me to feel scared and feel I needed you to be tough, but guess what? I have friends up there. Friends who have stuck by my side even when they learned my disorder before I could properly confess, friends who stuck by me even if they voted me off in season one for the others' behavior, and friends who still stay beside me despite everything you ever did to me!"
Mike's body began glowing white, and for the first time in Mal's life, he felt genuine fear in his eyes. "No… you can't do this to me. No one will ever cross you with me in charge," Mal pleaded desperately, "I'm a part of you."
Mike just narrowed his eyes. "That's true. I can't get rid of you, but I can seal you enough to where you can never cause this much trouble EVER AGAIN!"
Soon, Mike used his hands to shoot a powerful white blast which Mal tried to resist but in the end, it was hopeless and he was blasted into the deepest corners of Mike's mind.
"IT'S MY TIME!!!! MMMMIIIINNNNNEEEEEEE!" Mal cried out in horror as his voice faded into the distance.
Back at the volcano, Mike opened his eyes and grabbed his head. "Wh-Where am I?"
"Mike! He's back!" Ezekiel cried out happily before Topher stopped Ezekiel from going to help him up.
"Wait, this could be a trap," Topher said sternly.
"Let me try something," Duncan told the group before whistling 'In the Hall of the Mountain King,' and all he got was a blank stare from Mike.
"It's really me guys. I swear," Mike smiled encouragingly.
"Mike! You're back!" Sky cried out as she embraced the comedian, to which Shawn, Noah, Dawn, Ella, Sadie, Lindsay, and Cody were all quick to join in.
"Guys, I am so sorry about everything Mal did," Mike apologized profusely. "I should have told you all about him after last season, but I thought he was no longer a problem and-"
"It's okay. We know you never meant for this to happen," Shawn smiled at his friend.
"I promise. I won't forget to let you all know about my problems," Mike pledged.
"Great to have you back," Chris said with an unamused look on his face, "but can one of you toss your sacrifice in the volcano already?"
"The one next to you," Topher told Mike as Izzy dragged her dummy. "If you toss it in the lava before Izzy does, then you win the million dollars."
Mike and Izzy locked eyes, then he grabbed his dummy and both ran as fast as they could to the edge of the volcano.
Quickly forming a plan, Izzy slid to a stop and hurled her dummy. It flew through the sky like a bullet, and moments later, it soared into the lava unceremoniously, and aside from a small splash-back that the Peanut Gallery quickly dodged, nothing happened.
"Oh yes!!!" Izzy boomed. "I won! I won! I won!" she cheered, jumping up and down in glee.
"And that's a cool million for Izzy," Chris told the audience. "The winner of Total Drama World Tour!" The contestants all applauded and cheered for the winner.
"Way to go, Izzy!" Owen cheered out loud.
"Nice job, eh!" Ezekiel clapped his hands.
Chris opened up the briefcase for Izzy, who marveled at the dollar bills inside. "It's so beautiful!" she exclaimed as she took the briefcase and hugged it tightly.
"You worked hard for the money, Izzy," Mike said as he walked over to congratulate her. "I'm just glad to be back in control again."
"You're welcome, and stay you, Mike," Izzy shook hands with Mike.
"Ohh, you didn't throw any pineapples in the volcano, did you?" an unfamiliar voice asked, the camera panning right a little ways just as two elderly Hawaiian men in flowery skirts and leis walked up.
"There are signs everywhere!" the other said.
The camera cut to the Peanut Gallery all stepping away to show several signs with crossed-out pineapples on them.
"Oh yeah," Chris said blankly. "They really ruined the shot, so we put the human wall there."
A third old Hawaiian man came over to reveal another sign. "Don't you know what happens when pineapples meet lava?"
It was then that the volcano shook and rumbled, a long-distance shot of it showing a few reddish streaks forming along the outer edge of the crater.
"Uh-oh," Chris said, gaining the camera's attention as the volcano was shaking, "Didn't see that one coming. Anywho," he chuckled before taking a deep breath and yelling "RRRUUUUNNNNNN!"
The volcano was shown from a distance again, the smoke billowing from the top turning into a full-blown eruption of fire.
Back at the top, the three Hawaiian men went running back towards the path down, followed by Chris, Izzy, Mike, and the rest of the contestants as lava began to cover the screen.
It parted as the scene cut to the base of the volcano, the former contestants running and screaming across the beach as flaming rocks rained down from above and the lava took over the screen again.
"See you next season I guess," Chris said as the camera cut to him as fire continued to fall. "Maybe with a whole new cast, 'cause let's face it – these guys are probably gonna melt," he laughed.
"Until next time," the host said, his voiced strained as the scene cut to him standing up in front of the sky. "I'm Chris McLean, and this has been Total! Drama!" The camera zoomed out to reveal that him and Chef were now aboard the old Boat of Losers, but the host's outtro was interrupted by a sudden object. Both men looked up, and one of the rocks, entirely on fire, was shown rocketing towards the boat.
Chris and Chef ducked to either side as it landed, punching a hole in the ship with its crash. The Boat of Losers began to sink, and the rest of the cast treading water nearby laughed as the two adults went under.
Their mirth was short-lived, however, and quickly turned to terror and they swam away screaming as large flaming rocks started raining down upon them once again, and the footage cut to static.
(Roll the Credits)
(Bonus Clip)
The shot featured flaming rocks hitting the ocean and whatnot. The rocks caused some splashes, but they weren't big enough to fully cover the screen.
The camera panned to the right to show Ezekiel Clone on his raft. A big smile formed on his face as he drank his coconut and watched the lava explosion. Noticing the camera, he gave it a wave before it faded to black.

2023.06.02 00:33 Mad_Scientist_II While stuck in the infinite subway, the biggest enemy can be microscopic

Part 7
It's been two weeks since we've escaped the sleep watchers. Ramirez's concoction worked, waking everyone up and soon enough, the outside of the carts were once again the pitch black void we've got accustomed too. Thankfully, the worst thing that the sleep watchers left us with was a feeling of tiredness. Otherwise, most of us were in perfectly fine health. At least, that's how it looked at the time.
After we evaded the sleep watchers, we couldn't sleep properly for several days. Everyone was scared about getting caught in another trap, one that might leave us in an inescapable encounter with the creatures of this world. It didn't help that the black mist that was present when I woke up began following us, always disappearing just as you turned your eyes to it. Sometimes however, you would be able to catch it in the corner of your eye. It never did anything, but at this point, we couldn't take any chances.
We ended up doubling our watch. Now, four people were awake at all times, paired in groups of two. Most of the times I paired with Marie, one of us being the lookout while the other carefully studied the journal. We would switch places when one of us needed a break. One night, I was standing at the door of the carts while Marie was reading.
"Hey, come back here," Marie yelled suddenly, scaring me half to death, "I think I found something!"
I rushed back and sat next to her.
"What is it? What did you find?"
"I think this is the thing that kept following us for the last few days."
"Let me have a look."
Marie's finger pointed at the title of the page. Written in black, bold letters, it read "Mistling". Normally, Ramirez's entries occupied at the minimum two to three pages, including the drawing. In this case however, the entry was only the drawing and a few phrases.
The drawing showed a small portion of the cart, as if you were looking straight at one of the cart doors. It was a very detailed sketch of a cart, drawn with thick lines, which contrasted with the Mistling, who was drawn with very thin lines, giving it an almost aetherial look.
"The Mistling," noted Ramirez, "as I've decided to name them, is a medium-sized floating black mist that can sometimes be found in the subway. It's appearance rate is random, given that it can take a few days to a few months between seeing one. What makes them important, at least important enough to note about them, are the following two constants:

  1. They're almost always found near a body. Doesn't matter if the person died of natural causes or fell victim to one of the many dangers of the subway, it will be there. I can only assume that in the exceptionally rare cases one is found at random, there is a high likelihood that there was a body in that cart at some point.
  2. They're always stationary. You could spend weeks in the same cart as them and the mist will always stay in the same area as you found them, the only movement being the constant swirling of the mistling.

Beyond this, neither I nor anyone I have met so far have no clue of what they're deal is. They don't seem dangerous, but I'd be a fool if I trusted any creature in this place. However, as far as other "residents" are concerned, the mistling is harmless enough."
"Well," she said, "seems we have an unusual fellow on our hands."
"Right..." I agreed. "And here I thought we had something..."
"It's still better than nothing." said Marie, putting her hand on my shoulder. I instinctively put my hand on hers.
"Besides," she continued , "not considering this thing's unusual energy, everything else seems to check out. Hopefully, it's still as harmless as Mr. Ramirez said."
"You may be right," I said, "but we'll still need to keep a watch on whatever this Mistling is."
"Obviously. After all, someone I know told me" said Marie in a slightly jokey way while poking my arm, ""you can never be too careful." Quite a few times actually."
I started blushing a little bit. "Come on now, don't make fun of me like that!"
"I'm just teasing you is all." she smiled at me, putting her head on my shoulder, "Besides, I like that careful side of yours. Don't be ashamed of it."
I kept silent while still blushing.
"Even still," she said while yawning and stretching her arms, "I'd take even more of these Mistlings over that green-skin thing any day. That one really gave me the heebie-jeebies. Ugh."
I paused for a second and I turned my head towards her.
"What green-skin thing?"
"Oh, just one of the previous entries in this thing." she said, in a half-asleep voice. "Was a disease if i remember correctly."
"Let me take a look." I said, taking the journal from her hands.
"Knock yourself out, dear..."
"And you should wake up," telling her as I nudged her a bit "we can't go sleep yet!"
"But I'm sitting so comfortable now... Five more minutes, pleaaase..."
"Fiine..." I sighed as I opened the journal, "but you better get up afterwards."
"Now let's see here... Ah! There it is."
The entry was titled "Green-Skin Disease." The drawing was spread across the two pages of the journal, showing what appeared to be an evolution of a sick man. It started with a picture of a shoulder with a deep, bleeding cut across it, noted as "entry point". That was Stage 0. An arrow pointed to the next picture, Stage 1 written over it. The drawing zoomed out of the shoulder, showing the figure of a normal looking man, scratching his shoulder. The location of the wound had two new scribbles: "green" and "flakey". The next arrow pointed towards a drawing of the same man, Stage 2. This time however, the man looked sick, having sunken eyes and visible bones. The scribbles pointed towards the man's skin, reading "greenish skin" and "yellow veins". After that, the arrow showed the man, barely a skeleton. Stage 3. His skin was noted as "entirely green" with the addition of the word paralyzed next to him. The final arrow pointed to the man, deceased.
I found the imagery disturbing enough, but Ramirez went into detail.
"The Green-skin disease, named after the characteristic shade of green left on the body, is one of the few new bodily afflictions I have encountered as I ventured across the subway. Its deadliness is only matched by its rarity, having had encountered only a few unfortunate souls that suffered from this disease. Ten people I have met, of various age groups and ethnicity, with the only discriminatory factor between them being the age, revealing that the older someone is, the quicker it spreads. Of the ten, only one of them has survived, solely because the group I was in at the time reacted quick enough. All ten of the victims, including the people of the groups some of them were in, have told me what they have been through, providing me with a clear pattern to base my research on. The progression of the disease is as follows:
Infection: For the disease to take place, there needs to be at the very least a tiny amount of Green-Mushrooms present in the area, mature enough to release spores. The Green-Mushrooms look identical to regular mold, making the two indistinguishable. Luckily, the Green-Mushrooms take a while to be mature enough to release spores, dying quickly thereafter. Contributing to its rarity is the fact that the only way for the spores to infect the body is via an open wound in the skin, breathing or ingesting the spores not resulting in an infection. Nevertheless, if a person is unlucky enough to suffer an injury while there are green-spores in the air, the spores will take root on the skin, feeding upon it.
Stage 1: The spores have begun spreading. They have a very slow spreading rate, taking months or even years for it to advance to the next stage. Characteristic of this stage is the steadily growing green patch of skin, even after the closure of the wound. The green skin left by the spores is characterized as slightly itchy, resulting in the sufferer to often scratch themselves, leaving small amounts of green skin flakes that carry spores. This is the only stage where the person infected might still be saved. If you were lucky, the infection began at one of your limbs, making it possible to amputate the infected arm or leg. It is only necessary to amputate from above the infection area downwards, possibly remaining with more of your healthy limb. If you were unlucky and the infection began at a vital area, or you didn't have the tools or knowledge to amputate it on time, the disease will eventually progress to the stage.
Stage 2: The spores have gotten deep enough to reach your circulatory system. Once it's in the blood, the spores will travel all throughout the victim's body, coloring the veins in a sickly yellow and turning the skin to a light green. The person now begins to feel tired and moody, showing signs of fever. They will lose weight despite eating, the energy of the food being sent to the ever-increasing spores inside their body. If there are not enough nutrients for the spores, the disease will begin feeding on the body of the victim. Only after a day or two once stage two has been reached, the victim will enter stage three
Stage 3: This is the final stage of the disease. The spores begin attacking the nervous system, leaving it paralyzed from the neck down, a result of the spores eating the remainder of the victim's nerves and organs. The last organ to go is the brain, resulting in the death of the victim. This stage only lasts an hour.
I have yet to discover a cure for the Green-Skin Disease. The only sure fire way of escaping is to remove the infected area of the body before it reaches the bloodstream. If it reaches the bloodstream, the kindest thing to do for the victim is to kill them painlessly, before they reach the final stage."
My skin began to crawl after finishing the last sentence. I couldn't believe something this insidious could ever exist, but then again, a few months ago I couldn't believe any of this could possibly be real.
"Hey kid, found anything interesting?"
Matt's arrival had brought me back to reality.
"Oh, hey Matt, what are you doing here?"
"Your shift's ended. Me and Nick are taking over, so you and the miss can get some rest, though from the looks of it, she beat me to the punch eh?"
Marie was fully asleep, her head still on my shoulder.
"Yeah, sure. Thanks Matt." I replied.
"No problem kid... Heh," Matt chuckled a little bit, "If I think about it, I'll probably have to stop calling you kid soon."
"What do you mean?"
Matt began smiling. "John told me of your little plan with the rings."
"Shhhh, quiet." I said, as I turned my head to Marie, making sure she was still asleep.
"Don't worry, I've seen that girl. Doubt an earthquake would be able to wake her up."
"I suppose that's fair. Marie was always a heavy sleeper."
"Is that so? Well, better wake her up so she can sleep in a more comfortable place."
I woke Marie up and began leaving Matt and John to their watches.
"Hey Matt?" I asked, just before I exited the cart.
"What's up?" he asked as he sat down on one of the chairs.
"How's the leg?"
"Eh, it's fine. You don't have to worry about it."
"You're still limping though."
"Hey, if you were shot in the leg at my age, you'd probably limp too."
"I suppose that's fair. Are you sure everything's alright?"
"Very sure. Go on now, don't leave the girl waiting. Plus, I have a mighty itch to scratch, so I'd rather you not witness it."
I left as soon as he said that, not wanting to be part of something I thought it might be quite unsightly. As I made my way to Marie, my mind was lost in thought again, trying to remember everything I read today. Because of that, I tripped on one of those metal poles people used to hold onto when the subway was busy, though now without purpose in this endlessly empty place. What caught my eye however was something I saw when I looked on the floor of the cart.
Small, greenish-looking flakes.

2023.06.02 00:31 Lapras_Lass I'm Quitting Prozac Cold Turkey

Hi, everyone. I'm coming here for support, advice, and any tips or info concerning my quitting Prozac.
The short version: I've been on generic fluoxetine for almost 10 years, up to 40 mg per day for the past six years or so. I did contact my doctor to get advice about quitting, and she suggested just going cold turkey. It's been one week since my last dose, and symptoms haven't really started yet. I also have a prescription for .25 mg alprazolam (Xanax) tablets that I take only intermittently for panic attacks, and I'm on birth control hormones to regulate my menstrual cycle.
The long, LONG version: Ten years ago, I was having frequent panic attacks, nightmares, flashbacks, and freakouts. I went to a mental health center hoping that I could talk to a therapist, but a doctor there just gave me a prescription for 10 mg Prozac. It helped for a few months, but when it stopped working, I saw another doctor who changed my prescription to another SSRI. I had a terrible reaction to it, so she switched me twice more with much the same results. She eventually put me back on Prozac, this time at 20 mg. After that, I switched doctors again, and she upped my dose to 40 mg. This is the same doctor I'm seeing now.
I never really felt as if the Prozac was doing anything, but I stayed on it because I was afraid of any possible withdrawal symptoms. I frequently forgot to take it, and would suffer wild mood swings (keeping in mind that when I forgot to take the Prozac, I was also forgetting my hormones). Over the past few years, though, several things have changed that have had me contemplating quitting.
First, I did see a therapist about five years ago. She helped me to sort through things that were causing me PTSD, and with the therapy program, the nightmares and flashbacks went away. She also diagnosed me with autism spectrum disorder. I learned that I am prone to stimulus overload and also suffer from misophonia, and my panic attacks have almost completely stopped through management of those issues. I finally feel as if we've really gotten to the root of my problems, and my life has been vastly improved by learning these things about myself.
Second, I began to suffer from intense insomnia starting a few years ago. Even though the nightmares ceased, it was like I just could not fall asleep no matter what I did. My doctor prescribed various sleep aids, none of which worked. Sleeping pills of various strengths and preparations, melatonin, valerian... I even got desperate enough to try NyQuil. They would all do the job of making me drowsy, but I still could not fall asleep, nor could I stay asleep for more than four hours at a time. I did notice, though, that whenever I would forget my medications, I would fall asleep and stay asleep much more easily. The last time I "went off" of my meds, I did have intense side effects, but I was able to sleep at night.
The insomnia exacerbated my feelings of fatigue, so most days I was on auto-pilot. I would sleep all day and stay up all night. My sex drive had been plummeting for a while, and I lost the ability to exercise. After having covid, I've been left with shaky hands and dizziness that occur intermittently. I also have IBS caused by anxiety, and that got worse, as well. I had trouble losing weight despite being on a strict diet and exercise program. I began to think that all of these things were connected after they all improved when I forgot my meds.
I asked my doctor about quitting, and she said that she had no objection. She advised that I most likely would not need to taper doses because of fluoxetine's long half-life and the fact that withdrawal symptoms often occur even with tapered doses.
It's been one week since my last dose of Prozac. I know that it's too early for withdrawal to kick in, but I am already experiencing dizzy spells and slight nausea. The insomnia, though, has stopped. I really do believe now that the Prozac was causing it. Because I'm still taking my hormone pills, my mood has remained stable, unlike the times when I forgot my meds. My sex drive has started to go back to normal, and my hands are steadier. I never even thought to connect the shaking hands to Prozac until they improved this week, though that may have nothing to do with anything.
As I mentioned, I have a prescription for Xanax that I take for major panic attacks. I don't take it often, but now and then it helps to calm me down when other methods aren't working. I'm wondering if it will be a viable option for easing withdrawal symptoms if and when they begin. My doctor said, "I don't see why not," but couldn't offer much more insight than that. Any ideas on taking Xanax or a similar medication for SSRI withdrawal?
I feel lucky to have the support system that I do. My husband and I live with my parents, and I have three people in the house to help me if symptoms get bad. I want to do this now, because my mom is most likely going to have knee replacement surgery soon, and she'll need my help to recover. I also help to take care of my dad, who is disabled (he's diabetic, had a stroke two years ago, and needs general help around the house), and I'd like to get this all over with so I can keep helping him. My husband is very proactive about helping my parents, but he works full time and I don't want to ask him to pitch in more than he already does (he keeps up with the yard and runs errands for the household).
I guess my major worry is that I'll be somehow unable to do my job, which is to cook and clean for everyone and help my dad around the house and with business. There are four adults living here, but I don't want to put more on them than I have to. They all know that I'm going off of Prozac, and I gave them the rundown of symptoms as given to me by my doctor.
I know I'll just have to wait and see how badly I'm affected, but I'm sort of hoping that someone can give me an idea of how debilitating withdrawal might be. Like, at its worst, what can I expect? Does anyone have experience with taking Xanax or a similar medication to help with SSRI withdrawal? Anyone else have any tips or advice or just a shared experience? If you made it through all of this, thank you for reading. I think posting this helped ease some of my anxiety already.

2023.06.02 00:30 Odditylee What would Carrie had done if...

... Aidan hadn't bought the apartment when her building went co-op? She would have had to figure something out, right?
The thing about that situation and Charlotte loaning her money that always bugged me is it's not like Carrie would have been homeless!! She had options, she just didn't like them and was set on keeping her current place. Which is fine! But to expect others to fix it for her really bugs me.
I wonder what would have happened if Charlotte had listened and offered the money with Sam and Miranda. Would Carrie really had not accepted it?? What would she have done?
Or what if Charlotte had offered the ring but Carrie declined and finally grew up a little. Maybe she could have asked Aidan to consider giving her more time to get her finances together. Maybe she sells her designer shoes and clothes so she can keep her place and has to deal with that. Maybe she says goodbye to the apartment and it leads to even better things in the future but has to deal with and ending to that chapter in her life.
I don't know but I wish it had been a turning point for her and maybe been better for her growth and next phase in her life.
What do you think?

2023.06.02 00:29 HappilyAHeathen Girlfriend deliberately let me think she was dead.

I mostly just need to vent about this. I'm a man in my late thirties. I spent the entirety of my twenties committed to one person and dated sporadically in my thirties with less than inspiring results.
Had been in a relationship with this girl for three or four months. She was about 8 years younger than me, worked part time as a barista and lived with her mother in a one bedroom apartment but she was incredibly sweet and enthusiastic and would do these sweet gestures like writing me letters about how excited she was to be with me and bringing lunch to me at work so I fell for her pretty hard and fast--dating in my thirties has generally been a pretty disappointing affair, with most women treating me like some kind of consolation settlement for not getting what they really wanted, so spending time with someone who seemed genuinely enthusiastic about me was.... like a drug.
After about four months or so she wanted to meet my family who I'm not on great terms with but I settled and took her to my brother and sister-in-law's place. While she was there, they let slip that I live... uncomfortably close to my mother--when the pandemic ended, my landlords hiked their rent beyond what I was willing to pay so I reached out to my mother's landlady who had what I needed but the catch was being essentially next door to her. I'm not on great terms with my mother so I spent the entire time living there trying to pretend her place wasn't a rock's throw away... therefore it never really occurred to me to mention it.
Anyway, when my girlfriend found out, she didn't handle it well and accused me of hiding things from her. I apologized and we had a very long talk about it and it seemed like things had gotten better for half a week or so. One morning she was leaving my place to go to a class and about five minutes after she left, my entire house began to shake--it turns out a tornado had torn through the area, ripped the roofs off of a number of businesses and residences--there was a car crushed under a tree all of about a block away from my home so when I got out to survey the damage I was immediately worried about her.
Texted her immediately and asked if she was okay but got no response. I work in tv so my entire day was occupied with covering the path of the storm and all of the damage it had caused in between trying to see if there was anyone who could safely check on her. By the end of what turned out to be a twelve hour day I was a shaking mess with still no response--and I wouldn't get one for another three days. It was nonchalant and completely unapologetic. After that response, I wouldn't hear from her for another week when I finally got upset.
She called and still didn't apologize, only giving me a lame excuse about not being in a good headspace but I was so happy to hear her voice for the first time since the tornado hit that I forgave her. For the next couple weeks we kept making plans with about a 75% chance of her cancelling at the last minute. During the last night we were together she found out that one of my best friends who she hadn't met yet (new mother, so not a lot of time for socializing) and I had dated very briefly about eight years before, proclaimed she was sick of the lies and stormed out of my home. She broke up with me via text and told me never to talk to her again.
In summary I guess this post is half complaining about ghosting and half me trying to figure normal people out... like I'm about 80% sure I'm some variety of on the spectrum but it wasn't really a thing that was tested regularly when I was younger and don't really care enough to bother now, so I guess I need to have normal brains explained to me sometimes. Should I move forward in life always ready to detail every bit of minutia about my life in explicit and immediate detail, such as exactly what proximity my mother's home is to mine and whether or not my best friend and I initially dated for a hot second before deciding we'd much rather be friends almost a decade ago?

How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
There's been no official announcement regarding Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's streaming release date, though we know it will eventually be released on Netflix, rather than Disney+ or HBO Max.
In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.
While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.
Because it’s airing on FX, you can of course fire up Into the Spider-Verse via FX Now. But in addition, the animated flick is streaming on both fubo (which offers a free trial and has cord-cutting plans starting at $74.99/month; sign up here) and DirecTV (which also offers a free trial and has cord-cutting plans starting at $64.99/month.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.
When Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be on Streaming?
The Spider-Man franchise is in a pretty interesting place regarding streaming. The various films of Sony's franchise have typically been scattered across multiple services. That said, following a historic deal between Sony and Disney, the many stories of Peter Parker and beyond are now available on Disney+. This includes the original Sam Raimi trilogy, the first Amazing Spider-Man film, and, starting mid-May, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Venom. Notably absent from the Disney-streaming platform so far are The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Morbius, and most significant of all, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
If Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse comes to Disney+ before Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's theatrical run concludes, that would make the House of Mouse's service a likely contender for a streaming release. However, Sony has also historically partnered with Netflix for streaming releases. Up until recently, that's where Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was available to stream, and Sony still brings their other big releases to the service, like Bullet Train and The Woman King.
When will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse be streaming on Netflix?
Sony Animation’s big new Spider-Man movie is about to hit theaters and will be headed to Netflix (at least in the United States) later this year. For a prediction as to when and a bit more about the new movie, here’s what you need to know.
As we covered in 2021, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be headed to Netflix as the service gets both Sony’s animation and live-action content via a first window deal struck in April 2021.
The deal stipulates that all Sony theatrical movies come to Netflix in the first window, which at a minimum, is 120 days after its theatrical release date. If it arrives exactly 120 days after, it’ll be streaming from September 30th, 2023.
With that said, given how big this movie is, we may see it release a few weeks after the fact. Either way, we expect the movie to be available between late September and November 2023.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be Streaming On Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.
In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be Streaming On Disney+?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Disney Plus release date.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new Marvel's animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

ParkeSpider-Man, and of course Miles Morales as our primary Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set one year after the events of the previous film. Miles (Shameik Moore) is coming into his own as Spider-Man when he is unexpectedly approached by Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) with an extraordinary opportunity. Does Miles want to help a team of Spider-People, led by Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) protect the multiverse from the terrifying threat of a man known as The Spot (Jason Schwartzman)?
Obviously, Miles is going to say yes, setting him up for an adventure that will expand this movie’s concept of the multiverse in every possible way. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse promises tons of new characters and worlds, without losing sight of what people have come to love about this particular Spider-franchise.
Miles Morales has become a massively popular Spider-Man, and you can be certain he’ll be at the center of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s chaotic blend of action, comedy, comic book aesthetics, and large-scale science fiction. It seems more likely than not that Across the Spider-Verse will be the biggest animated release of 2023.

Hey guys, long story short I have main turntable set up for a while now and recently this month found six turntables in the relatives basement one working one that I set up in the second stereo. This stack of five all has various issues.
I’ll probably be asking in another post within a week about one of the issues… The issues range from a bad belt needing a new needle needing a new cartridge and or headshell a cracked platter Mat and a weird tonearm balancing issue in the the bottom Technics deck

2023.06.02 00:20 Oneiropolos Tips For Life Makeover

I've seen some confusion about things in both this sub and in the game, so I've created a sort of quick guide to answer some basic questions about some of the systems in the game. I only started when the global server opened so I'm NOT an expert, but I've tried to do some research and understand things the best I can so hopefully this will be helpful to someone!
Used to talk in world chat. It can be traded in your profile screen for gold. 100 Vitality is worth 500 gold when you tap "use" next to it under your picture. It caps depending on your level so unless you talk all the time in world chat, get that gold each day!
At your home, you have two basic needs - hunger and cleanliness. Hunger is a little time consuming to resolve since you have to cook and eat multiple meals to fill it. But being full is worth doing once a day as it earns you Chestnuts to be claimed each day. The amount of chestnuts are based on how much income you are getting from the Endorsement Queen competition that is always running as you get two hours worth of income from the previous day converted directly to extra chestnuts.
You gain 75 points of energy for cooking each day, maxing at 300 points if you don't spend it. This means you have four days of leniency before you start letting energy go to waste. Each point of energy converts directly to a point of proficiency, allowing you to work up the ranks of cooking. As you reach different levels, you can learn recipes that are sometimes faster to make or take care of your hunger efficiently. Your tablet in 'Home Services' might have some recipes when you watch the food related channels (Cuisine, Desserts, and Water). These channels are also available on certain TVs and computers in homes and you will learn different recipes from them. The computer also has a special bulletin option that also can grant recipes. Bookshelves often have a single recipe that can be learned by them, so If you don't want your own personal library, make sure you keep an eye out for different bookshelves in friend's homes! The last important place to get recipes is the Boardwalk/ community center. Two recipes come from NPCs that only spawn when it is nighttime in the game HOME screen (Please note that the home time moves differently than the rest of the game and your personal clock, so you may just need to pop over and check what time it is there.) The other NPC is always there if you look around the center area.
In general (there seems to be some exceptions), clothes under 3 stars require basic dye and clothes above require trend dyes. Things like dresses cost more dyes than shoes or socks. If you have a piece of clothing you wear a lot to pass levels, Fashion Battle, or Endorsement Queen, you can increase the stats on it by raising the charm on it. The important points are 8 and 16 charm, which gives fashion style +5% and +10% respectively. Dyes on pieces that are not in a set (and thus do not have a Charm in the lower left corner) do not increase stats. From a purely mechanical standpoint, it is best to focus on getting one piece to 8 so you can have the 5% rather than two pieces to 4, as that does not grant a bonus yet. To get to 16, you will have to extend the palette to unlock more colors. This often requires you to have had duplicates of the clothing pieces that you decomposed and got specific vanes for.
Ally experience and intimacy becomes INCREDIBLY slow to get and you will want to focus on the highest tier allies possible. You almost NEVER want to spend on an R ally - you cannot get what you invested in them back and you will get SR allies through various events and methods in game for free. One thing to consider when it comes to allies is that you want to be able to attain as many duplicates as possible - so allies from gacha events are a little more of a struggle here. If that’s all you have better than an R, go for it, but when the event is gone it’ll be much more difficult to evolve and raise the skills of them in the long run. There are currently 4 SSR allies available in the permanent gacha pools - Doomsday Rose (Cool), Perfect Match (Elegant), Red Spider Lily (Sexy), Fuzzy Fun (Sweet). There are 8 SR’s available permanently. Right now, the Rose Fantasy gacha has Doomsday Rose and Perfect match SSR allies also in it, and one SSR card not available in normal gachas. If you want more information, you can click the little i on the upper right corner and click over to Ally List to see which allies are available where.
General Clothing Tips:
Only five accessories count when it comes to scoring in Endorsement Queen and Fashion battle. It will always select the highest scoring accessories if you’re not sure and there doesn’t seem to be a penalty to adding more, but there’s no NEED to add more if you are certain you have 5 that will rank the highest. In other words, that ring that only ranks as a B in Endorsement Queen is probably not ever going to be counted so you don’t have to stress yourself out putting something on in every category.
Endorsement Queen:
The way this mode work is you’re trying to pass certain scores for themes to open ‘stores’. This earns you income which also counts towards increasing your level inside Endorsement Queen. Every level in Endorsement Queen increases the bonus given to your score, so it’s important to claim the income regularly in case it’ll bump you up in score! You likely want to check this daily and make sure you haven’t gotten any new pieces that are better than something you had on. If you ONLY increased an Ally, that will often update with “Highest Record Quick Endorse” just fine. However, if you got better clothing, you will need to tap Endorsement and manually replace it. 50 Income gained=1 Chestnut and there’s no penalty to converting, so it’s a must for gaining chestnuts for your house. When you tap management, you can redeem chestnuts, see how your current income is, and tap the “Income” button. Often when you level up (and almost every time at the beginning) you may be able to increase the Ability of a store so it gives more income, or Use a Decoration that will increase income. You will unlock multiple decorations in a row - always make sure the one In Use is the HIGHER percentage in each row that you’ve managed to unlock.
I’ve seen this confusion pop in world chat more than once. Yes, you need gold. You need a lot of gold. You will NEVER have enough gold. Ignoring just basic purchases you need to buy from the store and the like, there are several heavy gold sinks! Improving your ally always requires gold and once you get to the higher levels, that cost gets very noticeable. Through your guild, you can also take beauty courses, which the second and fourth categories are increased through gold. This gives a huge boost to your stats and once you get to around the 40th class, you are spending a minimum of 300,000 gold per class with some being more expensive.
If you still have gold after that, or maybe you’re stuck trying to grind some levels so you can’t take the next course or update your ally - you should probably still keep the gold. If it’s burning a hole in your pocket though and you want to indulge, you can spend 48,000 gold at the Starlight Show permanent Gacha for a ten pull. This will get you potentially new clothing pieces, makeup, photo additions, and if you get doubles, coins in decomposition to let you buy the clothes there. If your gold is in high supply, you’re probably missing something!
Miscellaneous Tips:
Not sure where to spend whatever currency you know you just saw you got from doing whatever you just did? Go to “Bonus” on the main menu and over to “Exchange”. This is a list of all the stores so you can see what you have to spend in!
Have extra energy but can’t move forward in levels? Check other outfits out in your Fashion studio to see if there’s other items you can collect in advance to make it easier for you later. Don’t let that energy go to waste! Hitting max means it stops generating new energy for you so spend it!
If there's anything I've gotten wrong or other tips and tricks I've left out, please comment! I don't want to give misinformation and there's probably a lot I don't know myself yet. There's also things that are coming to mind that I know I've left out but I had to stop somewhere!

2023.06.02 00:18 ChristianTBallsack Noob question. How long can a fully colonized grain bag be left before it goes bad?

First time grower
I only have one monotub, and I have two different methods of colonization going right now. A 3lb grain bag and five 8.8oz Uncle Ben's bags. I expect the 3lb bag to be ready first since it has a considerable head start, but assuming they're both fully colonized within a few weeks of each other, I'm wondering if I can let the Uncle Ben's sit for a week or more, while fully colonized, until.the monotub is available? Or will it go bad?

2023.06.02 00:17 RaceKey1674 Seeking Guidance for Pursuing Acting in Mumbai

Hey everyone,
I'm a theatre actor based in Delhi with five years of experience in the field. I had plans to move to Mumbai in the past, but unfortunately, some personal tragedies, such as the loss of my father and the responsibility of managing his business after his demise, compelled me to postpone my relocation.
Now, I am determined to make the move to Mumbai and pursue acting opportunities there. I would greatly appreciate it if the community could provide me with some guidance and insights on various aspects of living and working in Mumbai.
Accommodation: I'm seeking recommendations on affordable areas to rent a place in Mumbai that are convenient for actors. Any suggestions or insights regarding reliable real estate agents or online platforms to explore for finding suitable accommodations would be incredibly helpful.
Cost of Living: Understanding the cost of living in Mumbai is crucial for me to plan my finances. It would be fantastic if anyone could share an overview of the average expenses, such as rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and any other significant factors to consider.
Essential Tips: As a newcomer to Mumbai, I would love to hear any essential tips or advice for adjusting to the city's lifestyle, navigating public transportation, finding part-time jobs, and managing daily life while I work towards establishing myself as an actor.
Finding Work: Until I start earning from acting, I am open to exploring other work opportunities to sustain myself financially. If anyone can provide insights on reliable sources or strategies for finding part-time jobs or freelancing gigs in Mumbai, I would be extremely grateful.
I truly believe that Mumbai has immense potential and opportunities for actors, and I'm eager to embark on this new chapter of my journey. Your guidance and suggestions would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much in advance!

2023.06.02 00:16 mongoljungle Can Zoning Reform Reduce Housing Costs? Evidence from Rents in Auckland [Greenaway-McGrevy 2023]

In 2016, Auckland, New Zealand upzoned approximately three-quarters of its residential land, precipitating a boom in housing construction. In this paper we investigate whether the increase in housing supply has generated a reduction in housing costs. To do so, we adopt a synthetic control method that compares rents in Auckland to a weighted average of rents from other urban areas that exhibit similar rental market outcomes to Auckland prior to the zoning reform. The weighted average, or “synthetic control”, provides an estimate of Auckland rents under the counterfactual of no upzoning reform. Six years after the policy was fully implemented, rents for three bedroom dwellings in Auckland are between 22 and 35% less than those of the synthetic control, depending on model specification. Moreover, using the conventional rank permutation method, these decreases are statistically significant at a five percent level. Meanwhile, rents on two bedroom dwellings are between 14 and 22% less than the synthetic control, although these decreases are only significant at a ten percent level in some model specifications. These findings suggest that large-scale zoning reforms in Auckland enhanced affordability of family sized housing when evaluated by rents.

2023.06.02 00:16 WandererOverFog 32M - Western Washington State - Deep Talks and Random Nonsense.

Introduction: Heya. I'm a 32-year-old guy from Western Washington State (not DC) who loves creating things. I find joy in my own amateur projects because they feel personal to me. With a degree in English Literature, I'm an avid reader and writer, particularly drawn to horror and science fiction. Road trips are my jam, and I often make the 300 mile trek to my hometown. You'll often find me relaxing in a hammock or cracking terrible jokes to get a laugh.
Interests: Gaming-wise, lately I've been playing Skyfactory 3, Back 4 Blood (even though I'm not the best shooter), Cities: Skylines, and a modded Cyberpunk 2077. I also enjoy diving into history videos on YouTube, like Extra History or Oversimplified. When I'm feeling creative, I run tabletop RPGs like Vampire the Masquerade or Legend of the Five Rings. I'm always eager to discover new games and hobbies to explore!
As for music, bands like Pennywise, The Offspring, Rancid, Mindless Self-Indulgence, and Flogging Molly are some of my favorites. When it comes to movies, I'm a huge fan of The Thing (1982), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Hot Fuzz (2007), and Near Dark (1987). Some captivating stories for me include Locke and Key by Joe Hill, The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe, Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
What I'm looking for: I'm seeking a friend who loves engaging in meaningful conversations on various topics, whether sensible or not. Sharing interests would be fantastic, but it's not a must-have. What truly matters to me is finding someone that is a positive presence, has an open mind, and the ability to have deep conversations. I like the idea of having a confidant to share meal pictures with, exchange random nonsense, and discuss whatever's on our minds without judgment.
If this resonates with you, let's connect! I'm eager to get to know you, share our passions, and build a strong friendship.

2023.06.02 00:15 rightonredherring Playground solutions- taking sand from the sandbox

I’m looking for a solution to prevent kids from taking sand out of the sandbox to use in the mud kitchen. This is such a funny issue to write a long post about, but I believe in the power of crowdsourcing problem solving.
Our playground has a sandpit. We also have a mud kitchen with a table and storage for shovels, pots and pans, etc. the sandpit and mud kitchen area are right next to each other.
The students are allowed to use dirt (the mud kitchen is also next to a large “dig site”), mulch/wood chips, sticks, pebbles, water, grass etc in the mud kitchen. But we want them to keep sand in the sandbox, because when they take sand out of the sandbox consistently, they we have to refill the sandbox more frequently etc.
We’ve had lots of talks about “sand stays in the sandbox”, tried digging up the sand that has fallen on the ground of the mud kitchen for them to use, redirecting them to dig up dirt or grab handfuls of mulch, temporarily closing the sandbox for repeat offenders, etc. And still, five times a day I turn my head and a kid is carrying out a bucket of sand from the sandbox to use in the mud kitchen. Since it happens so much, I’m trying to identify the need our students are demonstrating and fill that need another way.
It seems like the need is loose materials to use in the mud kitchen, maybe without having to dig anything up? But there’s wood chips and pebbles around. I’m thinking about putting out a bin of dirt, sand, shells, rotating loose materials each month that they can use until they’re gone. I can’t conceptualize what a container like this would look like. It would need to be covered from the elements and also bolted to the fence to prevent theft.
Any ideas how to keep sand in the sandbox and out of the mud kitchen?

2023.06.02 00:03 megustarita What would be a good way to proceed when my wife doesn't want to move for a job, but my field has limited opportunities in my area.

Long story short, no kids, and wife doesn't work. I've had a couple of "soft" opportunities that I didn't pursue because my wife freaks out at the mention of moving. We did relocate for my current job five years ago, and it was miserable for her (and by proxy, me). Other than unpacking, she didn't help at all with finding a house, finding the new car she demanded, or dealing with the relocation company.
I'm currently talking to a recruiter about a possible job with a 40% increase, plus bonus, etc. It's a step up in job duties, and is a position I want to move into I don't want my career to get sidelined because my wife is scared of moving, but I don't feel like making a unilateral decision isn't right either.
I've done the math, and after cost of living, including an insanely more expensive mortgage on the same level of house, the actual net increase is fairly meager, but the benefits to my resume are incalculable. She doesn't want to discuss it at all, and constantly finds reasons why it wouldn't make sense financially, obviously ignoring the long term career benefits.
Plus she's always complaining how the smaller city we live in has nothing to do. This job would be in a large city (we're in the US btw)
When I told my wife I didn't want to hold back my career because of fear, she got very defensive and said I was judging her. I wasn't. I'm scared too, but I guess more adventurous.
Any advice?

2023.06.02 00:03 Biatros_f I don't mind but

I've always thought myself as a classical musician who loves - well - classical music.
But now that I think about it. All this time I've actually only listened to Chopin and played his pieces on piano. Of course others too but mainly Chopin. Like 90%. And I think this is because of... what are they called? Feelings! I know Chopin is not the best composer or anything but his works just make me feel things.
Well I've read all about him and I'm a huge fan of George Sand's books too and she used to write about Chopin. I guess those are reasons. To feel. I don't know. Bytheway if you enjoy reading like Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, etc, I really recommend George Sand's books. I love them so so so much! She has these countryside inspired books. Well. Love stories they are but great love stories. Ah this is not about music anymore!

But do you guys have a main composer? Yes. I play video games. But really. Do you play like sometimes Beethoven, sometimes Brahms, Liszt and so on? Or do you play mainly Beethoven and sometimes Brahms and Liszt?

2023.06.01 23:51 Frosty_Smoke3705 AITA telling my BF that our daughter will not be around his mom much and definitely not a stepdad

I’m currently 7 1/2 months pregnant (18F) and have been with my BF (20M) for about three years. Now my boyfriend and I have had infidelity in the past before, a lot. Unfortunately it has messed me up and caused me to overthink every situation and think that he’s doing the worst. Some backstory, I’ve been around my boyfriend’s family for a long time always hanging out with them, always going on trips, being there on certain holidays, I was just always around, until I got pregnant. Yes, my boyfriend and I argue a lot but we are learning and growing. We were kids when we got together and didn’t know how to value a relationship so it’s been hard trying to get out of that stage to be a fully committed family together. Everything has been pretty good so far except for his parents.
When I found out I was pregnant my boyfriend was in New York picking up his older friend. Not to mention he’s lived above me for about two years now in a two-part house. We decide to go upstairs to go tell his parents. I was already nervous and my parents were completely okay with everything and we’re by my side. She seemed shocked and his stepdad just seemed out of it completely. Now I just thought that they were in shock because his stepdads daughter was also pregnant. So I thought it would just be good to give them time to realize what was actually happening. So my boyfriend would spend most nights with me. One day I was allowed to come upstairs and his stepdad told us that the sleepovers have to cut down a lot.
I was confused as to why because I would get them up for work on time and he would do whatever he needed to do still. So after while we cut down. My boyfriend and I would argue. I would tell him how he’s not understanding how I feel about certain things or that he wasn’t taking me seriously. I started to feel my intuition tell me something was off with his phone and I asked him if I could see it he made it a big problem and wouldn’t let me and he went upstairs. The next day I asked him if he can come down to talk things out and show me and prove to me he’s serious about our relationship. What he told me made me flip shit it was the last straw for me. He said depends. He’s cheated a lot over the past 2 1/2 years on the phone on Snapchat, Instagram, dating apps, and more. I’ve caught him a lot and still stayed. Every time it hurt and made me think differently of myself. Now that I am having a daughter of my own I know that I do not deserve that.
So when he didn’t want to talk about things or show me his phone, everything of his and he gave me I started to throw out the window. My question is why did it take me to lose my shit for him to actually be serious with me. After many times where I forgave him and took him back and gave him more chances. After that we talked about things and figured it out. Yes there were things on there that I did not like and I told him the next time it happens I have to walk away. I reminded him how would he feel if a boy would ever do that to our little girl how would it make him feel. It has now been about five months and I’ve only been upstairs about two or three times. I’m getting to the point where it’s not right because they have another son and he is with this girl and she has been up stairs recently a lot. Now I’m realizing they didn’t need time to realize that I was pregnant they just didn’t want me up there because I was pregnant.
His own stepdad told me he wish I wasn’t pregnant. Now he had his first kid at 10 years old, altogether he has five kids. He has told me stories about how he messed around with many girls especially while with my boyfriends mother. Hearing that made me think that’s why boyfriend would cheat on me. That’s all he saw around the seven years that his stepdad has been with his mother. His stepdad would always hand us some weed to go have fun with. I would let my mom know just so she knows I’m safe while doing it. She understood that I am at the age where I’m going to try new things and do it either way. She just wants to make sure I’m safe.
His mother and my mom have argued a few times she thought I was trying to trap him but that was not true. I had to get my gallbladder removed and it was causing acid reflex and I could not take my birth control or my Zoloft medication and he knew. He still wanted to do it knowing the consequences that could happen. And that’s how I got pregnant. My boyfriend told me that they didn’t want me up there anymore and he respected that. Which I completely understand but it’s not fair because I know once my little girl is born they will try and have just her up there and I will not be okay with that.
They would always call me family to them. Now I just feel like I’m the baby mama. My boyfriend told me that his mom wants to take our baby when she’s around two years old with his brothers and his grandma to Disneyland or World one or the other. I asked what about me what he told me is that it’s a family thing that they do during the summer. Him saying that hurt, like I’m not family but he might have not meant it that way, but either way I told him she would not go not unless I would go. He said if anything he’ll just pay for my ticket. That’s not the point though after me being around for so long I’m not allowed to go on family trips anymore? I’m having two whole different baby showers one for my side of the family one for his side of the family. Now I understand that means double and more things which I don’t mind but why couldn’t we just have a big one. I understand that they’re both pretty far distances away but still it makes me think.
I recently argued with him that our baby girl is not going upstairs whatsoever when his stepdad is around or won’t be up there much. I’ve been upstairs once in a while but once his stepdad is on the way home I have to go back downstairs to my house. It’s mainly his stepdad but his mom is completely okay with it. That’s what I think is wrong, they haven’t been around my whole entire pregnancy I don’t want to give birth to my daughter and then all of a sudden they want my daughter upstairs all the time. It may be petty but it’s unfair to me, it’s like once I got pregnant they treated me completely different. His stepdad has a drug problem, and his mother has an alcohol problem, I don’t really want my daughter around that. my boyfriend recently told me the reason why I’m not allowed upstairs, I think there’s more to it though. His mother was drunk once and decided to call CPS on his stepdad’s niece. So if I’m being honest I don’t trust his mom and I don’t trust his stepdad.
So I told my boyfriend that our daughter will not be around them alone without me. I told him he will not bring her up there even if it’s to let me sleep. I will go anywhere my daughter goes. If they do not like the fact that I will be with her every single time she’s around them they do not have to see her at all. AITA?
