You can find the original blog post, complete with all the shiny covers, here.
If you would like to be kept up to date with the upcoming lists, please subscribe to my newsletter by clicking this link. I don’t send out letters too often, pretty much once a month when this list goes out… and occasionally if I release a book or something.
As always, this is not a comprehensive list, but only includes all the books I have heard about so far.
If you have a fantasy novel you are self publishing in June or beyond, let me know by filling out THIS FORM, and I shall add it to the page. There are but 3 requirements:
1) It must be a self published fantasy novel.
2) It must have a Goodreads page.
3) It must have a cover.

Epic Fantasy, Historical Fantasy

Together, they broker peace between Florence and its enemy.
If Marcus is going to help Claire, he’ll have to survive. Peace has upset the balance of power in the capital city. The king stands increasingly alone against: the Constantines, a commercial enterprise as much as a clan, who aim to profit from peace as they have from war – the warrior nobles, descended from the founders of Florence and quick to turn against a weak throne – and Reburrus, the high priest of Florence, convinced Claire answers to hostile foreign gods. As the city comes to a boil, Claire and Marcus – and Marcus’s formidable army – will have to decide where their allegiance lies.
Claire becomes a reluctant participant in a savage campaign. While Marcus leads the battles, she tries to gain control of the unimaginably powerful Ctesiphôn – a ghost tower in the heart of Florence, shrouded in magic and myth.

1st June – The Nameless Restaurant by Tao Wong

Urban Fantasy, Cozy Fantasy
There is a restaurant in Toronto. Its entrance is announced only by a simple, unadorned wooden door, varnished to a beautiful shine but without paint, hidden beside dumpsters and a fire escape. There is no sign, no indication of what lies behind the door. If you do manage to find the restaurant, the décor is dated and worn. Homey, if one were to be generous. The service is atrocious, the proprietor a grouch. The regulars are silent, brooding, and unfriendly to newcomers. There is no set menu, alternating with the whim and whimsy of the owner. The selection of wine and beer is sparse or non-existent at times, and the prices for everything outrageous. There is a restaurant in Toronto that is magically hidden, whose service is horrible, but whose food is divine. This is the story of the Nameless Restaurant.

21st June – Hierachy of the Unseen by B. Pigeon & Fell A. Marsh

Epic Fantasy
Demons and humans are locked in endless struggle.
This is an intrinsic fact of nature. The demons believe their salvation lies in bleeding humanity of the life-force called light, while the humans are equally determined to defend it.
Within the sprawling empire of Lu-nevet, the two sides have settled into an uneasy peace, employing less violent tactics. But this peace can only hold for so long.
The state religion of Lukeira sends devout demon hunter Mitzli deep into the borderlands to bless the victims of demonic pranks. Once they arrive, however, they find unexpected signs of violence. They team up with irreligious hunter Veleiry to investigate—and the destruction the two uncover is an ominous sign of what’s to come.
Meanwhile, shiftless demon Kor falls under the scrutiny of his vampiric commander, Mant—meaning he must actually do the work of tormenting humans, rather than taking credit from his now-ex-partner Yez. Slowly, he begins to realize that the demons’ strategy is shifting, and may be heading down a path he cannot follow.
Mitzli and Kor will have to betray their respective factions if they want to put an end to the violence before it escalates. But the two of them, both outcasts among their own kind, are the only ones who know the truth. How can they protect the world if no one will listen?

2023.06.07 11:21 _____keepscrolling__ Today (June 7th) is a trauma date of sorts for me, it was extremely painful and complicated as a kid, as I was alone with it; as an adult now, am I going about today correctly? Any thoughts opinion are greatly appreciated, I don’t want to be alone with this anymore.

Today (June 7th) has been a difficult day for me since I was about 11, it is an associated trauma date from extremely painful and strong emotions I associate with my longest disassociated memory gap. I didn’t want to explain this to my T because I didn’t want to give it more power than it already has on me and has for so long, I just wanted to try and skate by today without thinking about it. I used to go through so many rituals every June 7th, there was so much fear and helplessness and an attempt to escape from filth and dirtiness(association around sexual stuff) all the time, but on June 7th it felt like life or death. Wherever I was at 2:36am(technically June 8th) during the night of June 7th was a filthy place, anything I heard, did, tried or ate in that day and surrounding days would be added to the associated filth forever.
I thought everything as a kid and teen was dirty but one thing I’ve realized in therapy is that actually I was dirty and made everything feel filthy; wherever I went would become rotten over time by my mere presence(that sounds bad but it’s actually a healthy realization for me, as it makes me face that this wasn’t outside of myself). All of this association was so strong I would start to become depressed starting in early spring by the looming feeling that it all has, the association of humidity and becoming sweaty and the sounds of bugs at night to name a few would just bring me down with all these emotions. I try not to give all this power by just ignoring as best I can but I still feel this pit in my stomach and this horrible inescapable guilt about all of it. I’m good at detaching from my emotions and I’m good at telling myself whatever I need to think or feel in order to get through things. That’s one way I would handle growing up in an abusive environment. The other way is I dissociate and forget things very quickly. I try to use all of that to combat this by just trying to cut off from it all and try not to remember anything year to year because if I did I would associate that thing and where I was with all of these horrible feelings.
I’m 25 and it just hasn’t escaped me. I’ve remembered a lot in therapy, my T is a trauma specialist and it’s trauma therapy, I’ve remembered being physically abused, that as a matter of fact is where the dissociation started, I’ve also remembered being icky gross abused at the age of 9. This is different than those things. These things I haven’t faced yet because it’s like remembering and seeing them through a fish eye lens looking outside of myself, it’s sufficiently distant 90% of the time until it’s not and I start reacting or just shutting down.
I don’t really know what to ask for, but this is the first time I’ve talked about this so openly, especially on the date itself. I’m trying to make today as normal as possible in order to not give it all that much power. Maybe even try and replace some of the associated emotions with more positive or constructive ones. Even now with what I’ve already talked about, I’m trying to be contained about it all and not react, but it’s gnawing at me as it always does.
I don’t know if any of this makes sense, but I would really appreciate some input, feedback, support etc. I don’t want to feel alone anymore with this.

2023.06.07 11:21 likeguitarsolo Went to my first AA meeting this morning

I’m coming up on 21 months sober. It’s been a while since I’ve actually craved a drink or felt tempted or in danger of relapsing. At this point, more than anything, I’ve just been in a really angry and lonely stage of sobriety. It’s other people’s problems and other people’s habits that get under my skin. Their ignorance and carelessness. It absolutely doesn’t help that I’m a career bartender and am surrounded almost daily by the kinds of people make me feel angry and alone. But through getting clean, my customers and coworkers have honestly been helpful reminders to me of what i never want to be again. Every day I see what just a few drinks brings out in a person, and I’ve never once seen alcohol at any quantity bring out the best in anybody. So I never fantasize about what “just one drink” could have in store for me. It’s helped me to stay sane behind the bar to not let myself care too much about the people I have to rub elbows with. But I can’t seem to stifle my deep hatred of alcohol when it comes to my friends and family. For months now, I’ve just distanced myself from gatherings that I know will cause me distress. And alcohol is still the main draw for most of my loved ones. None of this is good for the loneliness.
My father-in-law is 33 years sober, and he’s been active in AA for as long. He’s been really supportive and helpful to me through my sobriety. I’ve told him before about how useful this sub has been to me, and his response each time has been “why not just go to a meeting?” I’ve hesitated attending for probably all the same reasons anyone else here would. We had a good talk a few weeks ago, and I told him all about my current state of anger and isolation, and he finally convinced me to join him at a meeting.
When it started, an old-timer asked if anyone needed a one-day chip, and a woman said “I’ll take on of those”. Then she emotionally set the topic for the meeting. For the rest of the hour, everyone contributed with their relatable experiences and offered insight and advice. It really felt nice to be surrounded by likeminded people. Although I didn’t speak, it was very assuring to know I could actually be honest about my own situation among complete strangers. The whole thing felt exactly like reading and relating to a post on here and scrolling through comments which read as though I’d written them myself.
I accept my powerlessness over alcohol, but I don’t believe I need to climb any of the steps to regain power over everything else in my life. I want to say that I don’t really need any support group at all, but I was on this sub for years while I still drank. I was on here constantly the first few months when I quit. And I’m on here every day now for the same reasons that old-timers still go to meetings 30+ years clean. I can’t imagine where I’d be without the support this sub has provided. I do plan on attending some more meetings, if only to feel that sense of community and likemindedness. I’ve stopped getting my hopes up when friends say they’re “taking a sober month”, because I know they’ll spend the whole month salivating over that first drink when it ends. So it’d be nice to make a sober friend or two. This sub will never cure loneliness, but it’ll help you feel less alone at times when you really need it.
I appreciate each and every one of you.

2023.06.07 11:21 saigeswish 24 [F4R] US/Online - Sleepy voice chat?

Hey! Would anyone possibly want to keep me company and maybe help me fall asleep? My mind is wide awake and I'd like to wind down with someone before falling asleep. Hoping that a good conversation will help. But it also might wake me up, which I actually don't mind lol. I guess we'll see what happens.
I'd like for this to become a long term thing but I don't mind if it's the opposite. It really depends how things go so let's just go with it.
Please be 21+ and if you're down, send a chat/message and please include your age. I hope you're having a wonderful day!

Sorry, I don't know what to tag this since it's not really tech support, I'm just curious.
So, a few days ago, I built a new PC, and managed to pick up a 7900XT (PowerColor Hellhound) for $700 as an open box deal at Micro Center.
I typically stick to Nvidia because the general consensus is "Nvidia is better at all productivity, don't ask questions about it". My last graphics card purchase was a 1060 back in 2016, so it's been a while.
I was excited at the deal in front of me so I bought the 7900XT without thinking about it too much. However, as I install all my work apps, I'm starting to worry if I made a good decision here.
When I last bought a GPU, Nvidia was wildly ahead of Radeon for that kind of stuff. I tried to search to see if Radeon has caught up at all, but it's the same jargon. Nvidia for productivity, Radeon isn't even close.
But then I saw a Blender benchmark graphics that showed the 6950XT competing fairly well with high end 3000 series Nvidia cards. Well enough to make me want to ask about it.
I tried searching but I can't find anything comparing modern cards in apps like Premiere Pro or Photoshop, and the Puget website is a nightmare to navigate.
So I'd like to ask. Has Radeon at least somewhat closed the gap on this stuff, or am I gonna have to tuck my tail between my legs and reluctantly get a less powerful Nvidia card so I can benefit from it at work? Thank you.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).

“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.)

“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybo****here's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only

In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.

“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2022) FULL𝓂𝑜𝓋𝒾𝑒 ONLINE

You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Streaming on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.

While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.

The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).

As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Transformers: Rise of the Beasts season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, though Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will overtake it any day now.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )

, which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.

Finishing up the top five is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million. asdfsdf

2023.06.07 11:20 InternalOptimism Was told something very beautiful about India today.

Was on a call with a senior research professor at a reputed institute. I had e-mailed him because I wanted to ask him something related to climate change and economics, that's a story for another time. In the midst of our conversation, I asked sir, if India could bear the brunt of climate change?
His response was beautiful.
"Bharat, the nation and culture, has always suffered. We suffered through drought, through heat, through invasion and through pandemic. Yet, eras later, we still stand. We've maintained a balance between us and nature. Bharat is beloved by nature and nature is beloved by Bharat.
Even after toiling in 45 degree heat, a labourer goes back to his home and cares for his daughter who shows him the wooden doll she played with him throughout the day. That is Bharat. We suffer, we fall and yet we remain optimistic and rise.
Be assured, when Bharat drops blood, Bharat also heal it's wounds. When tough times arrive, Bharat has and will find a way."
I felt so good to hear this.

2023.06.07 11:19 Acceptable_Amoeba_37 760(Q50,V44) - resources used and lessons learnt

I got a few questions on the resources I used, so I thought I would make a detailed writeup of the same.
Disclaimer: This is not a piece of general advice, I am just documenting some of the things that worked for me. There are many experts in this sub who are qualified to give out advice, I am most definitely not one of them. Take this post with a pinch of salt. What worked for me might not work for you.
Free resources in the end.
TL;DR
  1. Quant - Wizako/ Gmat Club forum quiz
  2. Verbal - TTP(initial months)/ Gmat Ninja video series/ GMAT Club expert replies
  3. Have a guessing strategy and game plan for test anxiety, don’t lose control over the test at any point
  4. Don’t just think of what resources to use, think of when to use those resources as well. (Eg. doing gmat club practice in the initial stages felt overwhelming for me. I utilized it in a much more effective way after I was done with the basics)
  5. Be kind to yourself, get enough sleep, and fake it till you make it!
  6. Don't get disheartened if things don't go your way, a successful GMAT attempt depends on a lot of factors in addition to your prep. Your mindset and luck are factors as well. Keep going at it, it gets better!
Resources I used:
Quant:
  1. Although I am comfortable with quant more than with verbal, my basics were a bit rusty. I used the GMAT Quant core course from Wizako. I used this course to brush up on the basics. Although I used this course many months back, I frequented my notes from this course throughout my prep. They have a Youtube channel, you can check it out to see whether their style suits you. https://gmat.wizako.com/gmat-online-course-gmat-online-coaching-classes.shtml?gclid=CjwKCAjwsvujBhAXEiwA_UXnAK7fJppKZeq-T782xPruwFdSaR6zFVmE5l0c5SboqYLq9XAJpaBdPBoCz-0QAvD_BwE#fees
  2. After getting my basics in place, I started practicing with official questions. For the next few weeks, my efforts were quite scattered. In retrospect, having a structured approach would have expedited my prep - more on this later
  3. I purchased the TTP 4 months plan, however, I could not properly utilize the course as I had a very busy couple of months at work. Based on my experience, it is a very comprehensive course. It can be a game changer if you know how to utilize it well. Many people here feel that it is too vast, but I feel that is in good measure. They start from the absolute basics, and it is a very well-made course. I utilized TTP majorly for Verbal as it was my major pain point, and I was very satisfied with it(more on this in the verbal section)
  4. Once my basics were in place I realized that it was not my accuracy but my poor time management that was the bigger problem. This was my major takeaway from my first official test from a quant perspective.
  5. I fixed my timing problem with practice, get comfortable with the discomfort. I practised using forum quiz, and GMAT Club tests. GMAT club tests are really good, you can utilize this resource to get your time management skills in place. I would still say that they are not the same as OG questions, so DON'T skip out on OG questions. Getting an understanding of what skills the GMAT tests was an eye-opener. I also got GMAT club tests for free for 4 weeks. I got 2 weeks free for filling up an error log survey and an additional 2 weeks free for signing up for MBA Spotlight within 48 hours of its announcement. Watch out for such promotions to get some free resources.
  6. After practising for a while, I could see myself getting better at time management. My next pain point was careless math mistakes, I made a TONNE of them. I downloaded my error log from GMAT club, and in the week before the test, I revisited every official question that I got wrong and checked if I still made the same mistakes. If I made those mistakes even after practice, I re-read those concepts. I was making such mistakes even in the days leading to the test, anxiety was the root cause for such mistakes. I spent the last few days before my test working on my test anxiety.
Verbal:
  1. I spent the initial months of my prep doing a variety of resources, my prep was not structured at all. I used Powerscore CR Bible - a good resource to get some basics in place. I used Powerscore RC bible for RC, I found that to be helpful for me. I got comfortable with RC fairly quickly, so I did not spend much time on RC.
  2. GMAT Ninja Verbal series on Youtube is a godsend, I cannot stress how useful the entire series was, and the best part it is FREE. A lot of experts here say that GMAT verbal is not just about the rules, it seemed bizarre to me at first, but I understood what that meant after watching the GMAT Ninja videos. Watching those videos was a Eureka moment for me. I benefited a lot from the SC series especially. I felt that I could appreciate the videos better after I had some basics in place.
  3. I used TTP for verbal, especially for SC. TTP deserves every bit of credit it gets for making such a comprehensive course. Although I could not go through it completely, I greatly benefited from the verbal prep material. I referred to my SC notes from TTP multiple times during my prep journey. If you have the means and time to use TTP, go for it, but before that have a basic understanding of what your weak areas are. Use the free trial to get a feel of the course, and go for it when you are ready. Since the course is very vast, you might not have time to go through all of it, but having a clear idea of what you want in any resource will help you utilize it to the fullest.
  4. Read to understand the structure in RC, RC passages usually tire you out with a lot of details. Ensure that you don't lose track of the main idea, the structure, and what each paragraph tries to achieve in a structural sense. This helped me get most of the RC questions correct.
  5. SC is beyond the grammar rules. Don’t get me wrong, you need the rules to get to a basic level, but just that won't get you the right answer, especially in the more difficult questions. Reading for meaning is the way to go, GMAT Ninja videos helped me get this understanding. You have to be very literal with SC, I thought of SC like a puzzle.
  6. I am not the best person to comment about CR as that was my most difficult section, I tanked that in my first test. I learned that I did not keep track of the conclusion, so I fell for many trap answers. A few days before the test, Marty suggested I watch his Youtube video, it helped!! Thank you, Marty :) GMAT Ninja videos helped too. Like in SC, just understanding the patterns(eg. What are the typical right answers in a strengthen question?) will only get you so far, you need to understand what the main conclusion is and how the whole argument ties to it. Sometimes CR has seemingly bizarre correct answers, having a logical approach will help in such cases.
  7. GMAT CLUB - Just drilling OG questions will not be very effective. I used the forum quiz feature to practise in sets of 10-20 questions. I would later analyze each and every question, even the ones I got right. I used to read the expert replies and understand the concept. Once you get the hang of what qualifies as a right answer in GMAT, you will break your plateau, trust me on this.
  8. As mentioned earlier, I downloaded my GMAT club error log into an Excel file, revisited every official question that I got wrong, and checked if I still made the same mistakes. If I made those mistakes even after practice, and if it was because I did not completely understand that concept, I re-read those concepts(eg. I found the verb-ing modifier to be not intuitive for me, I re-read that a few times till I got the hang of it)
Test Anxiety:
  1. I did not account for this in my first test, and I learned a very important lesson the hard way. Some people are naturally calm under pressure, I am not one of them. GMAT is an exam where the stakes are high, so naturally your nerves will also be at an all-time high. Look up tips to help with anxiety, and choose what works for you. I got a 700 in my last mock 5 days before the exam, it felt like there was no way out. Once again, I am truly grateful for the people in this sub, and my family and friends for helping me move past that very rough patch. In retrospect, I feel like I needed to face that 700 in the mock in order to get the score I got on the test day.
  2. Be kind to yourself, and don’t get discouraged if you feel like you are not performing to the best of your ability, or if you feel like you are taking too much time to get ready for the test. You might feel like everyone else around is making massive strides and you are progressing in baby steps, understand that no two journeys are the same. Give yourself credit for showing up and wanting to move forward even when things are not looking up.
  3. I had a positive attitude before the test to the extent that I was surprised at myself. I told myself that nothing would stop me from giving my best possible performance on the test day, in a way I faked it till I made it. Things did not go my way initially, I had a flat tire right before I left for the test, I did not understand the very first question, and I had to guess a few questions(luck played a part here), I was surprised how unfaced I was given the turn of events. Having a resilient mindset helps, believe in your practice. I made every effort to not think about the algorithm.
  4. Don’t let performance in your first section affect that of your next section. I made this mistake on my first attempt and consciously avoided making the mistake on the second attempt.
  5. Never lose control over the test - have a guessing strategy. If you feel you are running out of time, you will have to make some calculated sacrifices.
Miscellaneous things that worked for me:
  1. In my first attempt, I had some trouble using the scratch pad, I followed a timing strategy wherein I write some time markers on the bottom of the page. It might sound trivial to you, but I had trouble with flipping the pages the right way on my first attempt, I was that anxious. I got a scratch pad to practise before the second attempt. If you can’t get it in your region, or if you find it to be expensive, you can get a makeshift one made at a local stationery store. I laminated a bunch of A4 sheets and got them spiral bound, not the best way, but it did the job.
  2. Reading some success stories here and on GMAT Club motivated me.
  3. I took a week off from work before my test, I completely zoned into GMAT. If you can't do this, consider having a few days around the weekend.
Free resources:
Don’t be discouraged if you are on a bit of a money crunch, you can get a great score just by using free resources. I am happy to help more in this regard, feel free to DM.

2023.06.07 11:19 AngelicWhimsy I'm feeling sad that being "a good person" is often a lonely life

I had my partner of many years leave me for someone else.
Then I recently met someone where there were feelings between us... I found out they had a girlfriend. I pushed him away from me and encouraged him towards her. They're happy now. I was presented with the same choice "the other woman" had and I chose integrity.
Firstly.. I feel sad this wasn't done for me. That there isn't reliable loyalty between women. Compassion for the sadness I felt to be cheated on. That I'm often not treated the way I treat other people. That I didn't receive the same consideration or pause to think about how that might impact me.
I'm often sad and lonely. I know people will say "you dont want that man who cheated on you" or "it's good you made the right choice" and I wasn't a hypocrite in regards to having the shoe on the other foot.
I never will cheat or encourage someone to cheat. I've never done that. I refuse to break my moral compass.
At the end of the day I'm still the one who is alone. I know it's for the best, but I'm really sad that in both situations I looked at something that seemed just in grasp of my hands....but wasn't right. 😢💔
It feels like I get punished for being honest and good. I feel like people take advantage of that and don't respect it. Regardless of that sadness...I won't change. I know I'm doing the right thing..but It still hurts. I've been hurting for so long. When does justice and happiness step in?

Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures.

Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million. asdfsdf

2023.06.07 11:19 Mother_Dare Issues with constant gameplay changes in SP Football Life 2023

hey guys,
i've been playing this game since it's launch back in october last year and i always have this problem of the game itself changing inside all the time.
i play the game using the pes21 gameplay while playing master league on regular difficulty using vertical camera on a keyboard.
it seems there're many factors that can change the gameplay. Every Football Life update for some reason would mess up my save. Suddenly players have touches like baby elephants, they cant pass to each other from 5 yards, crosses go way over everyones heads and tap ins or any kind of shots would go off target when i used to be able to do all of these before.
its not just the update but the different versions of FL_2023 as well. For example in the 12g version my players can score from crosses and tap-ins while in the start version i cant.
Everything in the game seems to change constantly that sometimes i can close and open the game on the same day and it will be different, do the same on another day and it would also be different.
i know about pes's scripting and how it gets worse every season you finish but i cant even combat that if one day i can pass and shoot and the next day i suddenly cant, it is very frustrating.
i've tried to to find the reasons for this change or fix the game in ways such as changing the difficulty, starting a new save, unistall and reinstall the game but i can never manage to get the consistency to play the game further than a week.
i cant capture the gameplay and show you all the evidence since im not good at doing it but i swear these things are true but i've never seen anyone complain about this either in the Smokepatch web or on here.
If anyone have any tips on how to stop the game from changing all the time from the players being professional to suddenly sunday league level it would be really lovely. Or at least tell me im not going crazy and that somebody has had the same experiences as me.
Sorry for the long post and thx very much .

2023.06.07 11:17 moomoopopscicle Just gonna be pretty upfront and myself since this is (technically) anonymous and fuck it I’m bored. 19M looking for new friends

I’m a filmmaker and writer. It would be awesome to talk to other filmmakers or writers as I never really have. I struggle with depression and anxiety have for years I’m also sober 19 months from drugs. Most of my day I spend working out at the gym, or fixating on how I can get my depression better (lol) I’m pretty proactive with therapy and stuff like that(finally med freee woohoo) im into lots of shit like graphic novels video games, some of my favourites are resident evil 7/8, out last series Zelda games. I’m studying film at uni this year
I love reading, philosophy, Huxley, Camus, Kafka. They inspire my films which are mostly experimental and without words.
Im also really into spirituality oracle cards tarot cards and I have received afew energy healings which were mind blowing and I’m very fascinated by that stuff
I’m open to phone chats if it ever gets to that
I have some friends and I see people at my boxing club so by no means a loner but it’s mostly surface level, i dont have a partner and I’m chill with my family but distant so there’s no one in my life I have to really be deeply honest with about stuff, who gets it. Dating is like finding a needle in a haystack. I think a lot about things and there haven’t been many in my life who I really feel have understood me. Im a very compassionate and loyal dude and good listener which is usually taken advantage of.
Hmu if you like deep chats !

2023.06.07 11:17 tcl4ever Becoming an Ally / Understanding

Good day,
Our Church in August is having a new to us series of LGBTQ+ events, both open to the public but mostly open to the Church. One of the earliest events is 'How to become an ally'. To be honest as a hetero male in his mid 60's, I don't know what that means. I will go with an open mind and most importantly an open heart, but I do have some trepidation on just what this all will mean as our Church (mainstream Protestant) begins this anew.
I'm a reader, so if there are any book recommendations, blog posts, commentaries on the subject, they would be welcome also.
Thank you for your time.

2023.06.07 11:17 itsallalittleblurry Chip Off The Old Block

My little buddy Jumpin’ Jack Flash is overnighting with us.
Earlier today he exposed himself in the front yard.
My first concern was that he was falling back into his old habits.
My first Thought was “Please don’t let him be waving it at the lady across the street.”
But the lad just had to take a wee. And both bathrooms were occupied, as frequently occurs (there’s a bunch of us here).
I find it necessary to do the same, upon occasion. But I use the back yard - I’m not an animal. Have to have a talk with the boy:
“Now see here, Jack, my lad; a hillbilly gonna hillbilly, true. And there’s no finer tradition known to us than the freedom to water nature whenever and wherever we please. And you are one by virtue of heritage and genetic memory. But there Are some guidelines; niceties to be observed. Showing Mrs. Garcia your John-Thomas is not one of those. Some discretion, son - some discretion.”
He was polite enough to wave to her, though. Good upbringing - manners are important.
And she smiled and waved back. So I suppose all is well.
Which brings to mind a story from the Late Great, irreplaceable Jerry Clower:
The old man’s sons were being drafted, and he wasn’t happy about it at All:
“Way I hear it, this whole dern thaing’s on account o’ that there Hitler feller! Why not just kill Him instead o’ fightin’ a whole war over it?”
“Well, it ain’t all that simple. Cain’t nobody git To ‘im.”
“Well, I don’t see why not! All they gotta do’s hide in some trees er bushes by his house with a shotgun. He’s gotta come out on ‘is porch Sometime!”
He alluding, of course, to a pre-bedtime practice practiced by my bros and me at Gram and Gramp’s. It was a long walk for a lazy person (of which we were, when opportunity presented itself) to the outhouse. Why bother, when we had that small side porch handy?
There was a patch of grass there that never Did grow green like the rest. Don’t know why - we watered it every day.

2023.06.07 11:17 aintrbea I witnessed my sister wake up from her sleep and then vanish into thin air.

After reading some fascinating yet spine-tingling stories in this subreddit, I'd like to share one of my experiences. I don't exactly recall the timeline but this was most likely in the year 2012 or 2013, when I was 11/12.
I witnessed this event in our old apartment in a 10-storey building where occasionally I'd have nightmares, insomnia, sleep paralysis episodes, and other weird occurrences. We lived on the 9th floor, and my dreams usually consisted of me running up and down the long staircases, the ground floor of the building intensely burning, elevators stopping to work midway, or the residents of the building turning into skeletons overnight.
I also woke up exactly at 3:30 AM every day without fail. Not so sure if it was my body's internal clock doing its thing but whenever I woke up around that time, there was this uneasy aura to the atmosphere around me.
My grandmother once told me that her sleep paralysis demon threatened her to not separate her granddaughter from it. She pointed out to us that our house was definitely haunted and believed there was a possibility that I had a spirit carrying within me. There was indeed a foul energy that my old apartment and building gave off but I ignored it.
I'm not sure if the following incident is a glitch, a hallucination, or a paranormal event, but it was sure an unforgettable and gut-wrenching experience.
I used to share my room with my younger sister and since my grandmother was also visiting, we were all sleeping on a king-sized bed. My grandmother to my left, me in the middle, and my sister to the left.
It was around 3:30 AM. However, this time I did not wake up from my sleep at 3:30 AM but was already awake since the time I got to bed and was unable to fall asleep. Both my grandma and my sister were in their deep sleep. As a kid, I had a vivid imagination so I was in one of my thought processes when I noticed a presence move from my right peripheral vision and felt the bed shift a little. I moved my head to the right and saw my sister slowly get up from her sleep and sit upright. She gave off this robotic, peculiar aura that I still can't get out of my head to this very day. She didn't show a hint of the weighing down grogginess from the deep sleep she had.
I ask, "Uh hey, do you need anything? You seem rather... off."
She doesn't answer back.
"I'm talking to you. Are you okay?"
She then slowly turns her head towards me and gives me this cold, piercing look for a long, long time. Her eyes didn't look very human but more like a reptile. But then I thought it was because I didn't get accustomed to the darkness in our bedroom and couldn't see her facial features clearly.
"Goodness. Why are you staring at me like that!?" I exclaim.
She still doesn't respond and keeps staring. This makes my heart skip a little and makes me feel extremely uneasy.
"You do know it's not funny right?"
She keeps staring at me and stares a bit more before she vanishes slowly into thin air from my field of vision which makes me freeze instantly.
Questions began flooding my head within a few seconds after she disappeared. My legs went numb, my heart raced, and chills set in.
"Am I seeing things?" "Where did she go?"
"Where the fuck is my sister who was just here now?"
"Was that even my sister?"
"People can vanish and no one told me?"
I tried to calm myself down and connect with the reality. And then I look again at the place she was sleeping and there she was. In her uninterrupted, deep sleep and in the exact same sleeping position she was in before I saw her get up and vanish. She didn't show a hint of waking up just seconds ago.
On one hand, even though I was glad that my sister is safe and sound. I was still under trauma as to what just occurred to me. I saw her disappear with my two sets of eyes with 20/20 vision and then she's back to her deep sleep in the same position she was in. How is that even possible?
Have any of you experienced something like this? What do you make out of this situation? Could it be a glitch, a hallucination, or a paranormal experience?
