2023.06.08 01:08 Wowzabruhmoment Scam identification Vancouver Canada
Hello. I am buying a used car in Vancouver, BC and I need help to see if I am about to be scammed or not.
I found a listing for a car on Facebook marketplace and messaged the seller. The seller asked for my email so I gave it and they sent me the following email(shortened for easier read):
Selling car because travelling out of country for work. A delivery person will meet you at a meeting place or garage for check and inspection before you buy it. If you do buy it you will get to following papers: power of attorney, certificate of registration, copy of drivers license, maintenance records and all invoices, safety certificate.
I’m planning on meeting them as I think the only way I could be scammed is if I get robbed at the appointment(I’m not gonna bring cash to the appointment) or if I pay them and don’t actually get the car transferred to me.
I’m wondering if in BC, Canada a delivery person can complete the sale on behalf of the owner so that the car is fully legally mine.
I appreciate any insight and thoughts about this thank you.

2023.06.08 00:32 Brownie5596 Need help verifying if this is a good deal
| I am planning to buy a pc to mostly play Rust, Minecraft Java, maybe Valorant, and some other games probably. I might do some video editing on Premier Pro. I know that Rust and Minecraft are usually bottlenecked by CPU. The pc I am planning to buy is off Facebook marketplace and is listed for $600. The information on the listing is the following “Details Condition Used - Good Used computer selling for 600 OBO main specs are Ryzen [hidden information]ti 16gb ram 256gb ssd 2tb hard drive only thing wrong with the computer is the lights on the aio I can never get them to be the same and they are just sort of random the aio cools great lights are just weird” I messaged him and got the following information “Ryzen 7 2700x, 3060ti, 16gb gddr 4, 256gb ssd 3tb hardrive, 650w psu, ASUS tuf b450 mobo, Lian li lan cool 2 case” There will also be images below if you want to try to narrow it down even more. I think it is a good deal but I have $800 and an additional $70 or $80 in Amazon gift cards. I have a office mouse and an office keyboard. I have no monitor either. It would be nice to get a new mouse and a keyboard. A mouse pad would also be nice because I I got right now is an Amazon basic 10” by 8” inches. I would like to know what opinions you guys have like if I should try to go down to $500 or $550? Should I upgrade something right away? How much should I spend on the monitor and such. Thank you! submitted by Brownie5596 to pcmasterrace [link] [comments] |

2023.06.08 00:20 cookiewaffles32 [TASK] Post my Pokemon wall decor on your Facebook Marketplace
Hey everyone, I am currently in need of assistance to further promote my business on Facebook marketplace. I'm a craftsman creating unique Pokémon Wall Decor! I usually sell these crafts on my own personal FB marketplace but want to reach out to other North American cities markets.
I am seeking individuals who could help me post my product on their marketplace and literally just copy and paste a message to tell them to message me on my Instagram.
Your role would primarily include:
- Posting about my product with a photo, description, and price that I will provide.
- Monitoring the post and directing any interested parties to DM me on Instagram
I am flexible with the payment structure. I can do a payment for every person that messages you regarding the product or a flat-rate payment for posting and monitoring the product for a set period of days.
If you are interested or have any questions please let me know!

2023.06.07 22:14 JobinatorV2 Samsung JS9000 Screen Help
Hi everybody, I recently purchased this 65inch Samsung JS9000 off of Facebook marketplace and the seller said that everything was all fine.
When we received it this screen has purple lights on the edges and is significantly dimmer in the center with certain black spots as seen in the photo.
I was just wondering if this is fixable, or should we try to just refund and get our money back. The original seller said he was willing to help us fix it, so if it’s cheap enough to get this repaired we may go that route.
Thanks!

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3481747958703447/ Right now I’m riding a cheap schwinn hybrid, so I was looking to get my first decent road bike. The mrsp for this bike was 750, however it came with a claris gearset. The seller upgraded to ultegra shifters and gears, however the brakes are still tekro. He upgraded the seat to a specialized carbon seat, and changed wheels. Can’t decide whether this is worth it.
From description- “Endurance road bike !

Wheelset - FSA NON SERIES CONVERTIBLE (700C) They can be used as thru-axle or quick release. (They sound great when coasting) Handlebar - Syncros Creston 2.0 Aero (Comfortable zipp handlebar tape) Seatpost - FSA Gossamer SB20 Specialized Carbon Saddle (Short Nose)
Has handlebar mount for Garmin computer. Durable aero top tube bag. Rear light included. Phone mount included.
Disc brakes - Tektro Handlebar mirror included.
The original wheels that came with the bike wheel be included with a pair of 700c x 32 tires. (Gatorskin) The current tires are new. - (Continental Ultra Sport 700c x 23)
Pedals - Shimano GRX PD-ME700 SPD (Double Sided) Lightweight Profile Design Water bottle cage holders.
Extra Saddle will be included. (Selle Royale) 1 Garmin speed sensor on rear wheel.”

2023.06.07 21:14 iaminhate What else to get for my detolfs?!
| I scored 3 Detolf cabinets on facebook marketplace this week and am over the moon! So far I’ve gotten: -wire shelves for ventilation (in case anyone was wondering, Lowes will cut them for you with the measurements- 12inch width and 15 inch length! Also buy the little end cap things because they’re sharp after being cut) -Barrina grow lights (1 foot, 40w) -AC infinity fans (120mm, I’m thinking 2 per cabinet?) - Govee Digital Thermo-Hygrometer -Kasa smart power strip I’m not sure the best way to attach anything- tape, command strips, magnets? Any ideas? Any other essentials (or fun nonessentials) you’d recommend? ALSO any ideas for having different set ups for each cabinet?! Like certain plants in one? Just wanting ideas and inspiration. I currently have a lot of aroids. I’ve only gotten supplies for one cabinet so far because I’m a broke college student AND I think going one at a time will make things smoother. 2023.06.07 20:50 Cyberforce25 Worth the purchase?: Nishiki Hybrid vs Giant Iguana vs Jamis Citizen
Hi guys, so I plan on purchasing a bike to commute to classes and gym (I estimate roughly 5-8 miles per day). I have roughly $125 spending money left, and I've heard department store are a major no go due to quality issues (which may explain why my first bike lacked a bike stand). I found these bikes from Facebook marketplace and was curious if any of these are worth purchasing and what your recommendations are. Side note, complete noob with bikes.
Here is a link with their images; I apologize if any of these are improperly labeled. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

2023.06.07 20:42 Pure_Entrepreneur352 Dear Canadian Facebook marketplace users. I'm here to explain and expose some lies about giving out your phone number on marketplace.
As a network engineer for the past 22 years of a major telecom giant here in Canada. I am here to expose some myths and tell the truths.
1- never give your number out online. First. Yes never give out your LANDLINE number to anyone online. Reason being. 99% of voice calls over wireless or landline cannot be logged and recorded.
2- never give out your cell number on marketplace it is a possible scam. Though this may be true 10% of the time. The other 90% is not. Reason sellers ask for people to text them is to make sure that you are in fact from Canada. All texts sent to or from a Canadian number are logged in their service providers database for 5 years in case law enforcement needs to be involved. As well, using a number for means of fraudulent / illegal purposes is against any terms of service for all cell carriers in Canada .. that contract we all sign when we sign up for service either prepaid or post paid.
What about VoIP numbers? As long as the phone number sending messages sends to a Canadian number they can be tracked down by device mac ID and tower SEGID as well as IP address as each message sent to or from a Canadian number contains this information.
3- "I'm scared sellers/ buyers can track my location". This is prohibited for commercial/public use by law in Canada which is why cellular providers do not allow such a feature in any plans. Although google allows it in their maps app. That's at the discretionary use of the two parties involved only.
Only reason or way anyone would be able to track you otherwise is law enforcement, emergency services crews if you dial 911.
So if a buyer or seller asks you to text them do so. If they request to call you. Red flag. Texts to Canadian numbers are saved by the carrier's where voice calls are not.

2023.06.07 20:29 cloudxen A PC is the best accessory for the Steam Deck
Ok ok, I know the wording is weird and you could absolutely flip them around, but I recently got a decent deal for an ASUS prebuilt from 2020 on Facebook marketplace to replace my ailing 2012 gaming PC that I’ve been using exclusively for music production. Anyways, I also bought a Deck earlier this year thinking I wouldn’t buy a gaming PC for a while, but last night I streamed Jedi Survivor to the Deck using moonlight while I watched tv with my wife and newborn and it was incredible! Obviously the PC has a lot more going for it than the Deck does, but being able to stream games in (basically) real time is amazing.
That’s all friends! If you have the money to get a Deck and a PC I highly recommend because the combo is truly outrageous.
