2023.06.07 12:11 ProfessorCoeus What are some unexpected performance mods?

What I mean by the title are mods that improve performance, despite it not being its main goal or even any of its goals to begin with. I **think** an example would be iron chests? Since its main goal is to provide more storage in one place. By doing this, it reduces the amount of chests that can cause lag for huge storage areas. I'm not entirely sure how minecraft's processing works so feel free to correct me, but this is the type of mods I'm looking for.

Forklift Heavy Construction Equipment - Things You Need To Know Equipment Planet Equipment
What are the things that you need to know about forklift heavy construction equipment? When you think of construction equipment, a forklift might not be the first thing that comes to mind. They are, however, powerful lifting and moving machines that may aid transfer things both inside and out, similar to a scissor lift or telehandler.

What Is a Forklift and How Does It Work?

Lift truck, jitney, forklift truck, and fork truck are all terms used to describe a forklift. A forklift is basically an industrial vehicle that lifts things with a two-pronged forked front attachment. That material is frequently shown on a wooden platform or pallet.
Products and commodities on a pallet or other platform are frequently moved with forks. A forklift has the ability to lift and lower materials. The forklift, unlike other machines that can be connected with a forked attachment – such as a telehandler – is useful for undertakings that require a lot of material movement.

What Is the Purpose of a Forklift?

There are several distinct types of forklifts, each with its unique set of features and benefits.
A forklift is used to lift, move, and carry objects in general.

What are the Functions of Forklifts in Construction?

Industrial forklifts are used to transport materials across building sites and over long distances. Bricks and wood, as well as tile and other interior construction materials, are frequently supplied on pallets on construction sites. When packaged together, they are simple to send. A forklift can help carry them to where they’re needed once they’re delivered on-site.
Because heavy-duty machinery like telehandlers and even front loaders can be equipped with fork attachments, genuine forklifts are rarely seen on construction sites. The telehandler, in example, is an excellent material mover since it can lift both up and out, making it simple to carry materials to various levels of a project.

Warehouses with forklifts

When you hear the word “forklift,” one of the first pictures that may spring to mind is: Forklifts are useful in warehouses because they allow bulk products to be stored while still being packaged for shipping. As a result, the forklift has twice the importance in the construction business. They are used to transport and load items in preparation for transport to a construction site. Even though they aren’t visible on physical locations, they are nonetheless incredibly important to the industry’s efficiency and production.

The Forklift’s Evolution

The forklift, which dates from 1887, is almost as old as the Statue of Liberty. A lift truck was the name given to the initial prototype of the forklift. But it wasn’t the forklift that came first; it was the pallet.
Pallets, also known as skids, are associated with the industrialisation of the United States and were used to stack and transport commodities and resources. To keep up with the demands of the industrial period, the first forklift was invented to move these pallets. The initial lift truck could barely lift a pallet a few inches off the ground. It was a clunky precursor to today’s mighty technology.
With the passage of time, the forklift grew in popularity and power. The Pennsylvania Railroad built a platform truck to help transport luggage on and off of their trains in the first decade of the twentieth century. When the First World War broke out in 1914, the forklift’s popularity and demand skyrocketed.

https://preview.redd.it/68jjmsg7ek4b1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=8474a396616715e877b53dba0fd837c29d9a8468

During World War I, the forklift was used extensively.

With a large portion of the labor force serving in Europe during the war, interest in the forklift grew. It was a godsend to have a powerful machine that could help transport enormous amounts of material at once. Many items, including as weapons, clothing, and food, were packaged for shipment and had to be put onto trucks and trains at the time. Because the majority of the workforce was based overseas, warehouses lacked the same degree of staff. Forklifts started to appear in factories and warehouses.

The Towmotor Company and the Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company both joined the fork truck industry in the United States in 1920.

Towmotor Company is a company that specializes in towing vehicles

Lester M Sears launched Towmotor in 1919 after inventing a gas-powered tractor with forklift capability. They invented the first industrial forklift in 1933 and continued to produce various forklift models weighing 1,500 to 15,000 pounds. Caterpillar Tractor Company purchased Towmotor on November 10, 1965.

Yale & Towne Manufacturing is a company that manufactures a variety of products.

Linus Yale Jr. and Henry Towne founded Yale & Towne in Stamford, Connecticut, in the late 1800s. The company started with making locks. In 1920, this company developed its first forklift, and its name was changed to Yale and Towne Manufacturing. The forklift was a battery-powered low-lift platform truck at the time.
Soon after, the business began developing light-lift platforms. Yale & Towne was the first company to develop a tilting forklift truck. Yale Materials Handling Corporation now manufactures a wide range of electric and engine-powered material handling equipment.

Continued The Forklift’s Evolution

The advent of the hydraulic-powered lift system was a game-changer for forklifts. The machines could lift more and higher with this technical improvement. As the world got more industrialized, a standard pallet size became more widespread. The development and application of forklifts became significantly easier because to this one-size-fits-all standard.
The Second World War, like WWI, encouraged the use of forklifts and pushed for more effective material storage systems in warehouses. Some argue that the standard we presently use for storing commodities, including the usage of forklifts in practically every warehouse and storage facility throughout the world, was created during WWII.
The majority of the machine’s modifications since then have focused on improving comfort, increasing lifting capacity, and lowering emissions. Fuel cell technologies, ergonomic cab designs, and even electric power are all common features of today’s forklifts.

Forklifts come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Counterbalance forklifts, side loaders, industrial, and warehouse forklifts are among the various types of forklifts available. Cushion and pneumatic tires, as well as tough terrain forklifts, are available.
  • Models and Makes That Are Popular
  • Forklifts are available in a variety of makes and models.
  • Hyster
Hyster began as a forestry equipment manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest in 1929, during the Great Depression. A hoist was utilized on one of the company’s vehicles to assist loggers in lifting and moving equipment. They ran with the idea of only having one staff to handle a large amount of stuff.
During WWII, Hyster equipment was employed by both the American and British forces to aid move materials and goods, cementing the company’s reputation. Since then, the brand has expanded throughout the world and has become synonymous with forklifts.

Yale

Yale began as a lock company in the late 1800s, as previously stated. Their first forklift was produced in 1920, and they have been focused on this market ever since. The company presently produces a wide range of forklifts, ranging in weight from 3,500 pounds to 35,000 pounds. Their forklifts are designed for a variety of applications, including building projects, farm operations, and port and warehouse requirements.

JCB

JCB was founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford, who has been credited with inventing the telehandler since 1977. With over 2,000 dealer locations in over 150 countries, JCB is now one of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers.
The teletruk industrial forklift and the rough terrain forklift are the two primary types of forklifts that JCB concentrates on. Their teletruk is a cross between a telehandler, a skid steer, and a forklift. It mimics the cab of a skid steer or normal forklift while allowing the telehandler’s distinctive outward reach. The wheels also resemble those of a standard warehouse forklift. This inventive design exemplifies how versatile construction machines and equipment can be. JCB has even introduced a new electric teletruck variant!

The Forklift’s Multi-Functionality

While most people associate forklifts with warehouses, they actually have a lot of ties to the construction industry. The construction industry largely relies on these devices, whether it’s loading supplies to be sent to a construction site or stacking timber, bricks, or other materials. A building site would not be nearly as efficient if it could not get massive orders of materials and have everything they need to really develop projects. Whether it was because to the pallet or as a result of World War I, our industrial and commercial world would not exist today without the forklift.

2023.06.07 11:21 DemosthenesOrNah LF basic feedback on opening scene of my speculative fiction novel (594) - would you keep reading?

Chapter 1

Ethan's heart pounded in his chest as he crouched among the dense foliage, the cool evening air prickling his skin. He had ventured deep into the heart of enemy territory, determined to retrieve the fallen flare, the sole means of inter-Outpost communication and a beacon of hope for the rebels. The surrounding woods crackled with tension, the ever-watchful eyes of the Empire troops scanning for any signs of rebel activity.
Carefully, Ethan maneuvered through the thick underbrush, his senses on high alert. His hands trembled slightly as he reached the spot where the flare had fallen, buried among fallen leaves and twigs. With practiced precision, he retrieved the small device, its vibrant red casing glowing faintly in his grasp.
But as Ethan's heart swelled with a glimmer of triumph, the forest betrayed him. A rustle of leaves and the hum of high-tech scanners filled the air. The Empire troops had closed in, their advanced equipment sweeping the area, seeking out any trace of rebellion.
Panic surged through Ethan's veins as he realized the gravity of the situation, the sounds of his predators encroaching on their prey drawing ever closer. With a swift gestalten flick of his wrist, he activated the flare's emergency escape feature, propelling it into the distance. A moment of relief washed over him, knowing that the luminary beacon would soon be soaring high above– carrying their precious secrets aloft, beyond the Empire's grasp.
Ethan's triumph was short-lived. The sharp crackle of plasma rifles shattered the tranquility of the woods, and his heart sank. The Empire troops had spotted him. Their demands to cease resistance echoed through the trees. A chilling reminder of the danger he faced reverberated all around him as their barrage of words and weaponry seemed to chip away the bark of his shelter with equal efficacy.
He tensed, waiting for a reprieve in the onslaught. Ethan took a brief lull as his cue, pushing himself to his feet– the hooded man bolted through the dense forest, dodging plasma blasts that scorched the ground around him. Branches whipped against his skin, and his lungs burned with each breath as he fought a lethargy that began to weave itself through his body. This internal predator closing the distance seen only as a blur, flickering through the leaves as the internal and external phantoms drew ever closer.
The Empire troops were relentless in their pursuit. Like hounds on the scent they closed in, their footsteps thundering behind him, an air of static and radio chatter permeating the smoldering copse. Their weapons trained on the rebel, ready to strike him down at the slightest move resembling disobedience-- he met their stares, defiance burning like a wildfire as the flames danced across his eyes.
He skidded to a halt, desperation coursing through his veins– he was surrounded by a ring of Empire troops, their plasma rifles bearing on him steadily.
Breathing heavily, Ethan raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, the flare's absence comforting him in a paradox of circumstance. The Empire troops closed in, their expressions cold and unyielding, the empty flare holster bumping softly on his hip as he fell to his knees.
As he watched his insignia-clad pursuers close the final distance, his thoughts flew back to his home as if drifting along the night sky with the deployed flare. He gazed up at the red trail streaking through the sky above, a single neon thread disappearing into the distance.
A needle cleanly piercing the tapestry of night as the tail curved over the distant horizon.

2023.06.07 11:04 lechatheureux The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 2 (The Kingdoms of Jangshun and Monyul)

Check out part 1 for context
The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 1 (Overview and The Gods) : worldbuilding (reddit.com)
There are 5 connected Kingdoms that have Tonpa as their main religion these are.
Jangshun
A Place of snow-capped Mountains and green Valleys, said to be built upon the ruins of the ancient Jungar people who controlled much of the area of Jangshun and the nearby kingdoms of Monyul and Taishigang.
Very little is known about the Jungar, their ruins are scattered throughout the landscape of Jangshun, and are often characterized by simple stone structures, pottery shards, and other artifacts. Based on these remains, it is believed that the Jungar were a relatively simple society, with a lifestyle that revolved around farming, herding, and other basic activities.
Despite their lack of sophistication, the Jugar are an important part of the history and culture of the region many myths and legends have grown up around them, the people of Jangshun often see the Jungar as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the region, and take pride in the fact that they were able to survive and thrive in a harsh and unforgiving environment. In addition to their physical remains, the Jungar have left a lasting impact on the people of Jangshun in other ways. Their language, customs, and traditions are thought to have influenced the culture of the later kingdom, and many people still feel a strong connection to the Jagun and their way of life.
The Capital of Jangshun is called Druktse, founded by Dragon Priests and the legendary Namgyal dynasty the city is known for its unique architecture, with buildings made of wood and stone, intricately carved and painted with colorful designs and motifs, the streets are narrow and winding, with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze and the sound of temple bells ringing in the air.
At the center of the city is the Royal Palace of Jigme Wangchuk, a majestic building that serves as the residence of the Royal Family, the palace consists of several wings and halls, each with its own specific function. The main hall is the center of political and ceremonial activities, where the king held court and received important guests. The royal family's private quarters were located in a separate wing, with opulent living spaces and lavish decorations.
One of the most impressive features of the palace is the Eagle Tower, a tall structure that houses the elite Eagle Guards, who were responsible for the king's security the tower is covered from top to bottom with intricate carvings of the bird of prey.
The palace is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, and it is guarded by soldiers in traditional Eagle attire, the Eagle Guards of the palace of Jingme Wangchuk are an elite group of soldiers tasked with protecting the king and the royal family, known for their fearsome reputation and exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards are considered one of the most prestigious units in the Jangshun army.
The guards are named after the majestic eagles that inhabit the mountainous regions of Jangshun, and they were trained to emulate the hunting tactics of these birds of prey. They are adept at using the terrain to their advantage, and are particularly skilled at scaling steep cliffs and mountainous terrain to surprise and overwhelm their enemies. In addition to their exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards were also known for their loyalty and dedication to the royal family. They undergo rigorous training and were selected based on their physical prowess, intelligence, and character, to become an Eagle Guard, applicants must be graduates of both the School of the Father and School of the Dragon.
The Eagle Guards are outfitted in distinctive uniforms that featured a stylized eagle emblem, and they were armed with a variety of weapons, including bows, spears, and swords. They were also known to use eagle feathers and talons in their armor and equipment, as a nod to the unit's namesake.
Druktse is a hub of cultural and religious activities, with several monasteries and temples located throughout the city.
The most famous of these is the Tashicho Dzong, a stunning fortress monastery that serves as the seat of The Gyelpa (The Duke) the secondary ruler of Druktse and the center of Druk-Ta worship. The dzong is surrounded by high walls and towers, and is accessible through a grand gate that is guarded by soldiers. The interior of the dzong is a maze of courtyards, chapels, and offices, all connected by narrow passageways and staircases.
One of the most impressive features of Tashicho Dzong is its towering central fortress and monastery, which rises above the rest of the complex and can be seen from miles around. This fortress is home to the Dragon Priests and is one of the most important structures in Jangshun. The fortress monastery is also famous for its beautiful architecture and intricate artwork. The walls of the courtyards are adorned with colorful murals and paintings, while the chapels are filled with statues and other religious artifacts. Visitors to Tashicho Dzong can tour the complex and learn about Jangshun history and culture, as well as observe the daily routines of the monks who live and work there. The Monastery is open to the public during certain hours of the day, and visitors are advised to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the chapels. Even though the current royal family of Jangshun are connected to The Father, The Dragon holds a special place in Druktse.
The people of Druktse are known for their warm hospitality and their strong sense of community. They celebrate several festivals throughout the year, including the annual Tshechu festival, the 3 Gods Festival which features colorful dances and rituals performed by monks and laypeople.
To the north-east of the Kingdom lies the second biggest city in Jangshun, the city of Lhagyal, often called “The Fire-proof City”
Lhagyal is a mass of stone walls and buildings with precious little wood being used at all, the walls of the city are imposingly high and even the central palace is relatively flat and does not rise above the walls, there are 4 gates made of pure steel and those are the only entrances and exits.
Inside the city walls, the streets are narrow and winding, with tall, tightly packed buildings constructed from rough-hewn stone. The architecture is distinct, with flat roofs and ornate metal doors decorating the doorways and windows, many of the buildings are built into the city's walls, their backs resting against the ancient stones.
There is more to the city than what meets the eye. Beneath the streets lie a labyrinth of tunnels and catacombs, built for both practical and spiritual purposes. Some are used for storage or as escape routes, while others are filled with ancient artifacts and sacred relics. The catacombs are also home to a complex network of underground temples and shrines and busy streets that are home to underground residences and businesses.
Despite its rugged appearance, the city's architecture is a testament to its resilience. It has withstood numerous attempts at invasion over the centuries, including attacks by powerful enemies armed with the latest in siege weaponry. The city's fortifications are a marvel of engineering, designed to withstand even the most devastating attacks and yet, for all its defensive prowess, the city has never lost sight of its cultural heritage.
The most famous instance of this was when the neighbouring Confucian Kingdom of Jinyun attempted to invade Jangshun with its impressive military might, scores of loyal foot-soldiers hardened by decades of conflict and advanced siege technology that included weapons that used fireworks.
The city withstood months of warfare with Lhagyal earning its nickname of “The Fire-proof City” The stone structures withstood the fireworks and the hard rock of the walls withstood the Jinyun catapults, outside the city several guerilla efforts by the Eagle Guards, The Company of the Hand and The White Tigers from Monyul lending their support repelled attempted on-foot invasions by the hardened Jinyun soldiers.
In the south-west of Jangshun, near the borders of Monyul and Taishigang lies the town of Gyalpeling, a place revered by monks and pilgrims alike. Gyalpeling, meaning "Abode of the Victorious" is a small yet vibrant town located in a remote corner of the kingdom. Its strategic location, surrounded by imposing mountains and blessed with fertile lands, has made it a crucial hub for spiritual activities and monastic life. The town is centered around a grand monastery, which serves as the heart and soul of the community. The monastery, known as Samtenling Monastery, is a majestic complex of ornate buildings adorned with colorful murals, fluttering prayer flags, and the sound of chanting monks echoing through the air. It is a revered place of worship and learning, drawing scholars, practitioners, and seekers of wisdom from far and wide. The streets of Gyalpeling are lined with modest housing for monks, adorned with intricate woodcarvings and colorful paintings. The locals, known for their warm hospitality and deep reverence for Tonpa, every activity the townspeople engage in helps the monastery in some way, whether trading, farming or craftsmanship, every resident of Gyalpeling helps out the monastery in some way. The town also boasts natural hot springs, believed to have healing properties, which attract pilgrims and visitors seeking solace and rejuvenation. The pristine rivers and lakes surrounding Gyalpeling add to its enchanting beauty, serving as places for meditation, ritual ablutions, and scenic walks. Gyalpeling is not only a place of spiritual significance, but it also serves as a center of learning, with numerous scriptoria, libraries, and meditation caves where monks engage in intensive study, contemplation, and meditation, prospective monks come from all over the 5 Kingdoms to study in Gyalpeling, as monks educated within its walls are valued in any court of the Tonpa Kingdoms.
One of the most valuable cities in Jangshun isn't far from the capital, a short 1 hour horse ride east of Druktse stands the city of Jangtse, a jewel in the crown of the kingdom. Jangtse, meaning "Silver Peak" in the local tongue, owes its fame and prosperity to the rich veins of silver that run through the nearby mountains, making it a thriving center for mining and trade. At the heart of Jangtse rises a magnificent conical palace, known as Jang Potrang, or the "Silver Palace." The palace, glistening like a beacon atop the tallest hill in the city, is adorned with silver-plated roofs, walls, and pillars, reflecting the sunlight and casting a mesmerizing glow over the surrounding landscape. It serves as the royal residence, where the Count holds court and conducts affairs pertaining to the area between Jangtse and Druktse. The streets of Jangtse are lined with buildings that boast silver-plated facades, creating a surreal and shimmering sight as one walks through the city, often shining gold from reflecting the sunlight, the wealth of the city is evident in the intricate silver filigree work that adorns windows, doors, and rooftops of temples, mansions, and markets alike. The silversmiths of Jangtse are renowned for their craftsmanship, producing exquisite silverware and jewelry that are sought after by collectors and traders from distant lands. The city is a bustling center of commerce, with a vibrant market square where merchants from across the region gather to trade in silver, gemstones, textiles, and other precious goods. The sounds of bartering, laughter, and the clinking of silver coins fill the air.
The Armies of Jangshun are known for their ferocious foot-soldiers, the every-day rank and file soldiers of the Jangshun armies are regarded as the best in the region and are a feared prospect to face on any battlefield.
The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are highly disciplined and skilled in the art of warfare, and are renowned throughout the region for their courage and loyalty. They are trained in a variety of weapons and fighting styles, including archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat.
It is said that the success of the army comes from the fact that many men and women who fight in it are from mountainous regions and are conditioned from a young age to move over mountainous land with ease, their armies can easily traverse land that would be impossible for normal armies to travel over, due to the fact that the soldiers know the land.
The army of Jangshun is led by a commander-in-chief, who is appointed by the common foot-soldiers and is responsible for the overall strategy and tactics of the army. Under the commander-in-chief, there are several generals and officers who oversee different units of the army, each with their own specific roles and responsibilities. The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are equipped with a variety of weapons and armor, including shields, helmets, and chainmail. They are also skilled in the use of traditional weapons, such as the da and the gochu, which are types of swords. In addition to their skills in battle, the soldiers of the army of Jangshun are also highly respected for their loyalty and devotion to their ruler and country. They are known for their strong sense of duty and honor, and are willing to lay down their lives in defense of their homeland. The army of Jangshun is often called upon to defend the kingdom against invading forces, and has a long history of successful battles and campaigns. Their reputation for courage and skill has earned them the respect of their neighbors and allies, and they are a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Jangshun.
One of the most famous regiments from Jangshun is the “Wheel of Steel” A heavily armored longsword unit founded by Princess Jamyang Daughter of King Kunga and Sister of King Yangchen of the Yeshe Dynasty after she travelled to Europe and witnessed people fighting in full suits of armor, this was a foreign concept in the areas around her and she implemented the idea with her Father's (And later Brother's) full support they were first deployed in aid of Taishigang who were experiencing an invasion from a nearby Dharmist Kingdom. The longswords cleaved through the invading forces lack of armor and their steel plates deflected blows.
Monyul
Monyul is a land of vast open spaces and stunning natural beauty. The kingdom is home to a proud and fiercely independent people, who have built a rich culture and a strong military tradition, its plains are green and warm during the summer but snow is not uncommon in winter. Dharmaling is the capital city of Monyul and is nestled in the hills, surrounded by winding rivers and vast grasslands. It is a city steeped in tradition and culture, with a rich history that stretches back centuries.
Dharmaling was built as the northern most outpost of the Dharmist Indraprastha Empire but was conquered by Tonpa forces from a tribe that would eventually become known as the Monyul. The city is built around a central marketplace, where merchants from all over the known world come to trade their wares. The marketplace is a bustling hub of activity, filled with the sounds of bargaining and haggling, and the aromas of exotic spices and perfumes.
The Company of the Wind have their main offices in Dharmaling and use the bustling 10 storey wooden building to plan its operations throughout the known world. The streets of Dharmaling are relatively wide due to the constant horse carts that pass through them. The buildings are made of stone and wood, with intricately carved facades and ornate balconies. Many of the houses have flat roofs, which are used as outdoor living spaces during the warmer months. At the heart of the city lies the great monastery of The 3 Gods, unlike in other cities which have separate monasteries for the three Gods, this temple combines them as a display of unity between the three sects. The massive structure dominates the skyline, with its towering walls and intricate carvings. The monastery is home to a community of monks, who dedicate their lives to the study and practice of Tonpa. Surrounding the monastery are the homes of the nobility, who are known for their wealth and power. These grand estates are filled with beautiful gardens and courtyards, and are often adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals. Outside the city walls, the landscape is dotted with small villages and nomadic encampments. These communities are home to herders and farmers, who make their living tending to the region's yaks and sheep. Despite its remote location, Dharmaling is a city of great importance, both culturally and politically. It is a place of pilgrimage for Monks, Merchants and laypeople from all over the world, and is also a hub of trade and commerce. The people of Dharmaling are proud of their heritage and their way of life, and are fiercely protective of their city and its traditions.
A 30 minute walk to the west of Dharmaling lies the Temple of Tong Thang, the Beehive Temple, as visitors approach the temple, they are greeted by the gentle humming of bees that buzz around the entrance, seemingly inviting them inside, the entrance is adorned with ornate wooden doors intricately carved with depictions of bees in flight, the temple is home to hundreds of bee colonies. The interior of the temple is a marvel of craftsmanship. The walls are adorned with honeycomb patterns carved into the stone, creating a mesmerizing visual display. Soft light filters through small openings in the dome-shaped ceiling, the centerpiece of the temple is a large altar made of honey-colored stone, adorned with intricate carvings of bees and honeycombs, where devotees offer their prayers and offerings. The Temple of Thong Tang is a place of worship dedicated to the reverence of bees and their significance in nature and the cycle of life, every day priests and priestesses of The Mother make their way to the temple to tend to the bees, bringing them water and sliced fruits, every year there is a festival outside the temple where priests and priestesses of Caihong distribute honey gathered from the bees.
Monyul is home to a large lake called Jangchub Tso, the lake is bordered by lush green forests and snow-capped mountains to the south-east, a product of Monyul's border with Taishigang.
On the edge of the lake there is a large city called "Gangri Thang", which is known for its fish markets and skilled boatwrights, nobles from the surrounding Kingdoms often commission boatwrights from Gangri Thang to build grand freshwater barges for them.
Several villages surround the lake, mostly fishing and farming communities, every spring fishermen from these villages make their way to Gangri Thang with hundreds of fish, hoping to hock their catch to fishmongers, tourists and Company of the Wind officers.
The fish they carry is mainly the several species of trout that live in the lake but a few of the lucky ones carry the Golden Mahseer, a gleaming fish variety that is said to be very difficult to catch, although the taste of the fish pales in comparison to the trout, the Golden Mahseer is revered for its scales that give off a vibrant golden glow, these scales are often used in ceremonial dress of the region adoring clothing and jewellery.
The people of Monyul are also skilled artisans, known for their intricate weavings and pottery. The kingdom is home to many workshops and marketplaces, where merchants sell their wares to buyers from all over the region. The people of Monyul are known for their skill at horsemanship, and the kingdom is home to some of the finest cavalry units in the region. The army of Monyul is also composed of archers and spearmen, who are trained in the art of mounted combat and guerrilla warfare.
The most prestigious regiment of Monyul is a cavalry unit called the White Tigers, the horsemasters of the White Tigers are known as the strictest in the Tonpa Kingdoms, if a horse fails a single training drill both the horse and rider are deemed unworthy. The White Tigers main weapon is a thick spear, painted red with a bronze spearhead, it has a heavy counterweight at the back that also doubles as a blunt weapon. Their secondary weapons are a heavy sword and a short bow.

String Hide String
Hide Eye of Ender Hide
Hide Hide Hide
This will results in an ender-green colored bundle with an Ender eye in front. When outside of players' inventory or in the inventory of an unlinked player, the Ender Bundle is inaccessible, and visually tied up.
The Ender Bundle is unstackable.

Linking

By right-clicking the inactive Ender Bundle onto an Ender Chest, that player's Ender Bundle is linked to the Ender Chest, which is now turned into an Ender Depot. Other players can also link their Bundle to the Depot. In the linked player's inventory, the Bundle appears open.
As the link is player-based, each can only have 1 Bundle-Depot link. Therefore it works like the Ender Chest, which means any Bundle opened by the same player can only access 1 Depot's inventory, and giving a Bundle to another player won't give them access to your linked Depot.

The Bundle-Depot's inventory works in similar fashion with the normal Bundle's, mixing and matching different items to a maximum of 1 stack worth of items, using the "Last In First Out" rule. The Ender Bundle-Depot, however, is capable of storing Shulker Boxes. Like other unstackables, a box take up 64 bundle slots, so the Bundle can only store 1 box at a time.
Depot
The Ender Bundle's inventory is linked to the Ender Depot's. Players can also access the inventory directly from the Depot. The selling point, however, is that the Depot can interact with redstone, which allow players to build contraptions that give them access to their storage system from far away.
One basic example is that you can place a hopper under your linked Depot, that way you can put your loots straight into your storage system. With the power of storage redstone, however, I imagine we can even make a system that can call and give items from and to the storage system remotely.
To help with updating the Depot's inventory and keeping the redstone surrounding it running, the Depot will load an area of 3x3 chunks around it.

Unlinking

The only way to unlink is to break the Depot, which will drop an Ender Chest and all the items inside its inventory. All players linked to that Depot will become unlinked, and their Ender Bundle will again betied up and inaccessible.

Notes

That's the end of the suggestion! This is my first time suggesting, so if you have any constructive criticism about the formatting, writing and content of the post, please let me know so I can make better suggestions in the future, which I have plans to make really soon! Anyway, thank you all for reading!

2023.06.07 10:22 SettingIntentions Requesting Tips for Equipment Storage in Car - What's The Best/Most Efficient Way?

Hi, I have tons of caving equipment. I also have excess equipment that I lend out to my friends. I mostly keep everything in the trunk of my car, but looking for tips on how to improve efficiency on packing and adventuring. I'm caving often- in the last week, 5 days were spent caving (a special week).
I have 2x 45 meter ropes (one static, one dynamic) and 2x 25 meter ropes. I have 2 full sets of SRT harnesses. I have 6-7 rope abrasion protectors. I have several spare carabiners, and 4-6 helmets in my car. I have a primary lighting setup for myself, spare batteries, as well as several of my old headlights and batteries that I can lend out to friends.
My head is spinning just writing it out and realizing all of the equipment I've accumulated. I've had several friends just gift me gear because they only ever cave with me, and there's no caving club by me, so my trunk has become the caving club's primary base of equipment storage.
How can I best store/manage this equipment for efficient use? A separate bag for each rope? A large suitcase with everything stuffed inside of a different spot? Just except the mess and sift through my trunk every time I'm looking for 4 spare carabiners?
Thanks in advance.

2023.06.07 09:05 twitchRivalOCE Why were these decisions Nintendo made?

-----
Part 1: Intro/Gripes
-----
I love this game, but there is so much wrong/thoughtlessness with end-game completionist questlines and armor sets.
Firstly, why is the spirit sage a robot? Noone likes or uses this sage and it doesn't fit in with the ghostly thematic of the other sages in combat not to mention it's size not fitting. And ain't noone piloting this thing. It literally nerfs you by getting in it.
The sage should've been the end-game Zonaite warrior you get for completing the shrines. Size/theme would've fit and would've been more cohesive in battle, not this huge cumbersome robot that hits you sometimes.
Next, it feels so random to find legendary/highly coveted items like old Link sets in random chests in unguarded mines? Why do I find some of the coolest items in such random places, these should each be a reward of at least a side adventure or a reward for long collectible questlines (the wells/signposts/blupee/bubbulfrog/koroks/lightroots) all yield basically no reward for what they are and, unless you're a completionist, have 0 incentive.
There's no item or reward that people actually want for finishing these. Why is the Fierce Deity armor where it is? Why is this not the reward for all shrines, something people actually want/will use? It's literally the armor of a god and fits having the stats the other one does. Also why is the sword so boring? Give it a master sword beam on every strike like MM or at least give the Set that bonus, everything is so nerfed in this game.
I found the sea-breeze shield, one of the coolest, strongest, most nostalgic items literally in a random stump guarded by 1 (one) tree in the middle of nowhere significant?
Menu/organisation needs streamlining (add favorites/alphabetise, better categorisation. C'mon Nintendo I consistently use 10 of the hundred+items/attachements in the game)
ADD AN EQUIP ALL ARMOR SET BUTTON Y DO I HAVE TO DO EACH ONE INDIVIDUALLY?!
-----
Part 2: Rewards
-----
My suggestion for these, and just adding more exciting items that're worthwhile are as follows, but would be endgame items for balancing (noone is going to get all 1000 koroks in a speedrun just to get a good item only to be used when you basically have everything anyway)
Hover boots- using these either gives bullet time/double jump mechanic (I strongly believe double jump mechanics are one of the most fun in any game and would just work well in the environment)
Iron boots- you can now explore underwatedifferent combat aspects (can't be blown/knocked away etc)
Bunny hood- just a flat tier 1 speedboost at all times that gives like 1/2 armor for balancing
Ocarina/instrument- controls weather (song of storms etc/day night without campfire so you can actually use it in the rain)
Some kind of item that draws loot
^ but draws rupees (these can both be toggled on/off. Maybe you get this for shooting every blupee in the game once, it turns white or s/t to signify)
Hookshot- just a bit better traversal in general, can hook onto basically anything, not just wood.
Elemental arrows- no longer have to fuse to be able to use elementals
Mirror shield- looks cool, deflect enemy attacks without parry
Yiga scroll- make this useable? Why is it so heavily nerfed? At least make it create a gust out of the ground or break ore? Such a cool concept that noone uses.
List goes on and on of things you could add that I'd actually be excited to find.
-----
Part 3: Armor sets
-----
A lot of the best and most exciting armor sets are completely nullified by their own features.
With each of the elemental dragon sets, which look amazing (love the dynamic pattern changes) and have decent effects, you have to be in an element that makes you take damage (heat/ice/thunder) in order to use it, and ain't noone using a tonic just so you can. The tradeoff isn't there. Just make it so the effects are passive always but have a cooldown like normal elemental weapons do.
WHAT IS WITH THE MYSTIC ARMOR?! I get hit once and lose 200 RUPEES?! For a pretty substantial questline this was the most disappointing reward and one of the armors I was most excited for from an aesthetic standpoint. It also can't be upgraded, so if you want to lose less rupees by increasing it's defensive value, well bad luck. Would've been a good opportunity for an endgame rupee sink to upgrade.
Any item that can't be upgraded, even if they're just cosmetics?! Like now I can't even wear them while just doing quests and endgame filler unless I wanna get 1 shot lynel farming. Nintendo, it doesn't break the game to make each set have a fully upgraded base of 60. There're much better things if I actually want combat stats. I also love the archaic set but there's 0 reason to ever use it?
Why does the slipsuit barely work? I was convinced this is bugged but it's just bad. Why does the zora armor barely speed up swimming? Give me majoras mask swimming.
Miner set...??????? Brightblooms outshine (lol) this in every single way.
Tunic of memories is worse than champion leathers in every single way, why would we ever use it? Let it show hitpoints again.
-----
Part 4: Sweats
Please add something to accomodate to those wanting to test their skill apart from Lynels.
As an avid enjoyer and believer that proving ground shrines are the best part of the game, I REALLY would LOVE a Cave of Ordeals (Twilight Princess) type of deal. Floor 1 you spawn in with 3 hearts and a stick, descending down a deep tunnel/cave floors 30-100. Each floor has a new challenge (you fight in the dark/on floating platforms, w/e) vs. increasingly harder enemies. Every 5-10 floors has a cooking pot where you can cook viable recipes to prepare with the scarce food/resources you loot and are forced to use your game survival mechanics to their fullest to complete.
The reward would be something insane like hover boots for double jump, maybe great fairy sword, fierce deity set, fierce deity sword, ocarina etc.
Sidequest based so it can be ignored.
-----
Part 5: End
-----
I have no intention of doing all the Koroks, but I definitely would if it gave me an item that vacuumed loot to me. Or all the wells, but definitely would if it gave me the bunny hood. Or all the bubbulfrogs, but definitely would for a Mirror Shield. Or all the blupees (this isn't a quest, but it could be) and gave me an item for vacuuming rupees.
None of these things would break the game because you get them so late, and they just make late game farming/traversal easiemore enjoyable/smoother.
Feels like they didn't think about a lot of these things. Probably a lot of issues I had but you get the point. To reiterate, I LOVE this game, one of the best I've ever played. There just feels to be a lot of thoughtlessness behind a lot of endgame decisions (ANOTHER KOROK POO? AN ALL'S WELL SNOWGLOBE?!)
Thoughts?

Just how to make the timber pellet mills mold much more
In recent years, the environmental protection plans of different nations have actually ended up being a growing number of rigorous. As a representative of new energy, biomass pellets have gradually ended up being popular, and also biomass pellets in numerous areas have actually also remained in short supply. Together with biomass pellets, there are likewise sawdust pellet equipments that produce biomass pellets. From the initial level die timber pellet equipment to the present ring die wood pellet mills, they are frequently being updated.

1. Exactly how to extend the life span of wood pellet mills mold and mildew?
The mold is a susceptible component in the sawdust timber pellet mills, and also it requires to be changed continuously. The costly mold and mildew is also a significant price in the production procedure of the sawdust pellet. Just how to raise the life span of biomass timber pellet mills mold?
( 1) Load the mold with oil
After the daily handling and production is over, make use of oil to grind the mold and mildew opening for a time period to make certain that all oil is left in the mold and mildew opening, which is of fantastic advantage to the next day's job and is likewise conducive to the long-lasting use of the mold and mildew.
( 2) Routinely clean up the oil
The editor right here advises everybody that if the timber pellet mills are not utilized for greater than a month, it is best to secure the oil in the mold. Because the oil will slowly set throughout the long-term storage space process, which will certainly make it tough to get rid of the following time it is made use of, which will certainly impact the succeeding use of the timber pellet mills.

( 3) It is not necessary to clean the mold for a long period of time
If the timber pellet mills are not used for a long period of time, it is recommended to eliminate the mold, tidy it and afterwards save it. It mainly cleans the pellets inside the mold and mildew and the sawdust connected to the surface of the mold and mildew. This way, on the one hand, it prevents the pellets from being solidified and also hard to remove due to long-lasting storage, and also on the other hand, it lowers the deterioration of sawdust to the mold and mildew.

( 4) The mold and mildew ought to be saved in a completely dry and also aerated place
The majority of the mold and mildews of the wood pellet mills are made of alloy steel. If they remain in a moist area for a very long time, the surface area of the mold may be damaged because of deterioration as well as its service life will be decreased.
( 5) The taking care of process ought to be very carefully
The mold and mildew of the wood pellet mills is a high-precision device. If the structure of the inner wall of the die opening is harmed during the taking care of procedure, it might cause the failing of the wood pellet maker and reduce the service life of the timber pellet device.
The above are 5 pointers to prolong the life span of the timber pellet equipment. Follow these 5 approaches to keep the mold, as well as I believe your mold and mildew will last longer.

2. Just how to solve the blockage of the mold of the wood pellet mill maker?
With the popularization of the idea of environmental protection and saving, timber pellet device is acknowledged and accepted by increasingly more clients, and also occupies an increasingly vital placement in our manufacturing. Today, Richi Equipment will certainly present to you how to fix the obstruction of the mold of the timber pellet mills tools.
If you need to know the service to the trouble, you should initially locate the reason for the problem, and to resolve the issue of blockage of the wood pellet device, you have to discover the reason for the obstruction of the timber pelleting maker.
The major factors for the obstruction of the sawdust timber pellet mills mold are as adheres to:
1. The feed of the wood pellet mills is also quick as well as the output is as well slow-moving.
Remedy: Replace the die of the wood pelletizer maker, or decrease the feed price.
2. The raw materials have contaminations, such as nails, bricks, etc.
Remedy: Turn off the wood pellet mills devices, after that open up the mold and mildew cover, after that pour out the extruded raw material, clean out the impurities in the raw material, and placed the raw material back. Keep in mind: When replacing the mold cover, tighten the nut.
3. Improper control of basic material moisture, or excessive particle dimension, and so on, will certainly also trigger obstruction of the timber pellet mills mold and mildew, and also hand-operated cleansing is very difficult.

Remedy: Big makers will get special needs punching holes, but for new friends who have actually just invested in wood pellet production, die obstructing is a migraine.
4. During the production process, because of power failure or other factors, the mold and mildew is obstructed, particularly the small-diameter mold and mildew is tough to tidy. Boring the material with a power drill is a lot more typical in wood pellet production equipment, however this is time consuming and often tends to damage the smoothness of the die holes. Moreover, after the die is punched, it needs to be re-ground prior to it can be made use of usually, which influences the work effectiveness.
Remedy: A a lot more reliable method is to utilize oil to steam the ring die, so that the plug opening is totally immersed in the oil and afterwards heat the bottom of the oil frying pan till the product in the plug opening makes a popping sound, i.e. get rid of the plugging die, re-install the machine after cooling, Adjust the void of the die rolls, according to the operation requirements of the timber pellet mills, the product in the blocked die can be quickly cleansed by re-driving.

2023.06.07 07:45 chay86 So my party got Gundren killed...

Kind of my fault. I had been finding little reasons to make the party succeed and got a bit complacent.
After wiping out the Rebrands, the party beelined straight for Cragmaw Castle (with Droop as a guide), where two new players joined the game. The goblin army didn't stand a chance and the combined might of Grol, Glasstaff and Vyerith was for nought.
When it became clear that Grol was about to die, Vyerith took Gundren hostage and escaped with a knife to his throat and with no map. After the fight was over, the druid wildshaped into a wolf and went after her. I had plans for the doppleganger, so I decided that she would abandon the unconscious Gundren and flee to preserve herself.
The party took the Gundren to a nearby camp and this is where things went a bit sideways. You see, I play D&D in a common space at work after hours and it's a big company, so there are actually 3 games going on - sometimes playing on the same day. One of the other groups was supposed to be playing, but the majority of them cancelled last minute, leaving two players hanging around with nothing to do. I decided they could "guest star" in my campaign and had them wander into camp while the party was resting.
I had no idea what kind of characters they would be playing, so when it became apparent that they were intending to rob my players, I decided that it wasn't the first time they had tried this. I created a band of Rebrands that had been fleeing from Tresendar Manor. The rogues had joined their camp the night before and since the fight had been knocked out of the Rebrands, they accepted the company before being cleaned-out of any valuables. The Rebrands remnants caught up with the rogues at the party's camp and a fight broke out.
With seven players, it was chaos but the Rebrands fell very easily. Since it was approaching the end of the evening, I decided on one last hoorah and I told them that following an explosion caused by the party's rogue, they heard thunderous footsteps and snapping trees as the noise had attracted a hill giant. I thought it would be fun to see all seven players bring it down. Instead, they immediately opted to run. The first time they have ever done so.
They ran for half an hour until I realised that Gundren was still unconscious at the camp. Immediately after I realised, so did the party. I have decided not to pull strings to keep Gundren alive. He has been flattened. But when the party's druid once again decided to return to go after Gundren, I had him find the camp flattened, the smell of blood heavy in the air, but no bodies. He followed a trail until he found another camp with two "drow" (dopplegangers) and a cart full of dead Rebrands (I'm going to have the big bad raise them as zombies later). The druid did not get close enough to determine if Gundren's body was among them. He then wisely chose to return to the party and head back to Phandalin.
The party's dwarf fighter had swiped the map from one of Grol's treasure chests but had not yet inspected it. Since I don't want the party to bypass all of the chapter three content and go straight to wave echo cave, I decided to throw up a roadblock here. The map is enchanted. By default, it shows an area of Neverwinter Woods and if tilted, appears to show the location of the mine and it's layout. But the image keeps shifting and the more a person tries to focus on it, the harder it is to perceive. The deal here is that to the rest of the party, the map appears blank. The first enchantment means that only the owner of the map can see anything (and ownership passed to the fighter the moment Gundren died), but they still need to figure out how to read it.
I'm now dropping breadcrumb trails that will send them off in search of a powerful magic user (Hammond Cost, Agatha or Reidoth) in order to learn more of the map's secrets before they can simply storm the mines.
And at the end of the last session as one last gag, I had a doppleganger appear in Barthen's provisions disguised as Gundren, looking for "his map" that he must have dropped when the party rescued him. The party has no idea that dopplegangers exist and so are now doubting the report that the druid gave, especially since he could not verify that Gundren's body was present.
I'm looking forward to messing with my party some more going forward, but does anyone have any ideas for fun things that I can do with this scenario?

2023.06.07 06:54 Indeecent8 Black Baccara GC reviews + 1 over the top BPAL bonus review

https://imgur.com/a/6Af6Y4D My husband was sweet enough to get me this cool old lock box for my samples so I redid it and made it ridiculously decadent and added a unicorn for good measure. I have (hopefully properly) attached some pics. I've asked for so many recommendations here and had sooooo much fun! I thought it would be nice if I contributed some reviews of my favorite house Black Baccara. My personal tastes tend to be weird and dark atmospherics and BB definitely does that well! Here's some of her GC scents :
Sorceress (Aroma palette is smoky, woodsy, fruity, and boozy. Highlights include rum-soaked pineapple, dark roast coffee, pipe tobacco, soft amber, smoky cedar, warm musk.): I wanted this for a long time as the pineapple/coffee combo somehow became a HG scent in my mind and I've been searching for the best one. After a few months of hankering I finally pulled the trigger. Sorceress is a dark boozy coffee without cream with a slightly floral pineapple and cedar in the background. It's definitely not citrusy and not identifiable as pineapple until you know what it is. The musk comes out a little towards the end and is very subtle and somewhat powdery like cocoa powder. I consider this a dark/gothic tropical which is perfect for summer but wearable all year. It has moderate longevity but pretty low throw. I find this can be remedied by applying to the ends of my hair or just slathering on extra lol I really like this and I'm glad I got a 5ml. 4/5
Black Cat (Aroma palette is dark, spicy, and earthy. Highlights include toasted cardamon, church incense, ancient cedars, tendrils of oak moss, cloves, and earth.): Conifers and cloves. That's pretty much it. Which would be cool except it has very low throw and longevity even on my faithful test subject. Only one I wished I hadn't FS'd. 2/5
Vena Cava (Aroma palette is woodsy, floral, and metallic. Highlights include dark florals, merlot, orris, ylang ylang, oud, and blood accord.) This is decadent af! I've tried a lot of boozy smells and this one is perfect ! Its very noticeably wine and it's definitely red. However you're not gonna get a sobriety test if you get pulled over wearing it. (I bought nosferatu from bpal and wore it to work one day. Bad idea! I had two customers walk in and exclaim that it smelt like beer in the shop. And I work in a dispo so it was being smelt over the reek of weed lol) anyways this is the perfect wine. It's ever so slightly floral from the ylang but very much like crushed red fruits without going candy like. Again you get woods in the background and I cannot detect any oud. The really magic comes towards the dry down when the metallic blood comes out. It's not meaty and could very well be the scent of a metal knife or armor instead. I only got a dram of this and will be uprising. Just a heads up though when I first got this my husband and I smelled it and both immediately said "oh chewing tobacco" 😅 don't wry it totally changes in about 10-14 days 5/5
Cathedral Noir( Aroma palette is earthy, resinous, and smoky. Highlights include holy water, juniper and cedar incense smoke, melted candle wax, aged myrrh resin, lilies, and deep aged labdanum. ) verrrrrry strong smoke. Which I like. This is basically an extra strength version of Hexennachts Fumer with some juniper, cedar and resins underneath. I do not get any of the other notes at all. It's pretty cool though not very easy to wear going places. It last forever too and definitely don't put this in your hair 😆 I recently wore this camping and it was perfect. 3.5/5 cause I wish I got more of the other notes but I'm glad I got a 5ml since I'm out of Fumer.
Hecate (Highlights include Ylang ylang, dark aged patchouli, myrrh, black pepper, hibiscus, leather, and lilac. ) THIS ! YES THIS! This is as close as I have gotten to my perfect SS. It's straight up kinky sex in a bottle. New black leather straight from your trunk of bondage gear mixed with lilac/ylang combo. It's even balanced between the leather and floral and there's no new car smell. I do not get any patchouli or myrrh and it's perfect without it honestly. I will be getting another bottle and I will absolutely be wearing it to my next shibari class. 5/5
Wild Lilac (Highlights include wild blooming lilacs, white musk, hyacinth, and orange.) This is the most realistic lilac I have found. There's a bit of orange in the opening that fades in under a minute. It's a very nostalgic smell for me. When I was a kid I lived in a tiny country town and my best friend lived in an old farmhouse. She had ancient lilac trees in the back yard so big we could climb them. This is the scent of spring afternoons spent among their gnarled branches gathering fresh bouquets. 5/5.
Overall BB is a house that is true to their descriptions. I can easily predict if I'll like a scent and I feel safe blind buying. I've only had issues with longevity with the one scent and look forward to trying more! In fact I have Frogs Breath, Gaia, and Wake Me in September on the way to me now.
I've recommended BPAL's Depraved to quite a few people on here but never felt as though I described it accurately so wanted to offer a review Depraved(aged patchouli and apricot): It's a cool night in the beginning of summer and you're at a small local watering hole in Louisiana's Garden District. The bartender is getting ready to close up shop and filling one last round of drinks. As you push your chair in to leave you see a dark handsome man in leather jacket giving you a strange steady look. You smile invitingly to him and he walks over to place his hand around your waist as you leave the bar. You lead him out into the cool evening air over to your car and you both get in. He doesn't say a word to you as you drive but instead rolls down the car window as he lights a cigar. And you don't look to him for any sort of explanation ; you know just where you're going. You stop in front of a beautiful and abandoned Cathlic Church. St Agnes had stood here for at least a couple centuries now and has been witness to worse deeds than you plan to commit tonight. You both hurry up the steps and through the pews pausing in front of the altar. Until he slowly takes you forward and pushes you down onto the old creaking wood and as he leans into kiss you you smell the cool and smoky earthiness left in his goatee by the cigar he smoked in your car and you can almost taste the apricot brandy left on his lips. But there's something more than both these scents, something shadowy and dark maybe it's the entire spirit of the Garden District itself but whatever it is its completely feral and heartbreakingly untameable.
This is what Depraved smells like and it's why I recommend it so much.

2023.06.07 06:40 RichardThatOneGuy Quick rant/not rant

Had the fastest fuck around find out to date! Hoped on customs, felt good, brought some new armor I just bought from ragman for hitting LV17, brought an "ok" kitted AKMS and a shotgun and for the fist time brought a few grenades with me. Made it about 27 seconds and get 2 tapped to the chest. Just another reminder on why I only play woods with super cheap guns and avoid ALL fights.
I do gotta say, tho. It is kinda a shame because I wanted to get that early Propor quest done (the one that needs unknown key), and that was the reason I even tried customs again. Lol.
Oh well! Back to woods with a cheap adar

2023.06.07 05:57 Blood-Money Mental health caused me to dig myself a hole deeper than I can dig myself out of. Not really sure what to do from here.

There’s a lot that goes into this and for myself it feels like I’m making excuses blaming my mental health. Don’t know that it really matters because as far as I can tell there’s no leniency given for this type of situation, and there’s a lot of history that goes into this and some stuff I haven’t ever talked with anyone about or really processed entirely but in the interest of transparency, here goes. Trigger warning and disclaimer that I’m not actively a danger to myself or others.
I’m bipolar, was diagnosed at 16 after a suicide attempt. I’ve tried a lot of different things to manage it. Medication. Therapy. Pulling up on the ole bootstraps. I’ve spent years of my life thinking about suicide almost every day and making poor decisions without concern for the long term. The short of this part is that on December 12 2019 I made a promise to myself that I would find a reason to live within two years or that was it. December 12 2021 was the day. Tattood right on my chest over my heart as a reminder that I’ve got an expiration date. Things were going okay for a few months after that, ended up checking myself into a hospital in March of 2020, I was experiencing my first ever episode of psychosis. Couldn’t stay consistent with medication, went into months long mixed episode and struggling with alcoholism and drug abuse to try to cope with the increasing paranoia that people I cared about were out to get me and plotting against me. Spent from March to August on FMLA taking benzos until I OD’d. I had a seizure, threw up all over myself. Somehow woke up the next day and decided that probably wasn’t a good thing and went through the withdrawals. Decided then that no meds was better than being inconsistent. Somewhere in all of this I deferred my mortgage payments and built up about 20k in back due payments.
Fast forward to September 2021, I’m still depressed and suicidal but at least I wasn’t paranoid. Things aren’t getting better and friends are talking about moving to another state. I’ve got no way of paying back what I owe on the mortgage. So, I sell my house. The sale goes through in November 2021. I pay off all my debt but my car and student loans with the equity left over. Give away almost all of my belongings and then head out. Book an Airbnb from November to December. Found a house in the woods that seemed cool, apply for financing, somehow get preapproved despite the previous deferment of my mortgage payments. I make an offer on the house, it takes a while and things are up in the air because it’s a dome and mortgage companies don’t like that. Can’t be appraised without scrutiny, etc. December 12 comes and I’ve got no guarantee of being able to move into this new place and no real plans, but things are looking up and maybe this new house in the woods is exactly what I need.
Few weeks later I close December 29th. I move in and then life turns into a freefall to the bottom over the next 9ish months. I no longer had the motivation to care for myself. Was going 1-2 weeks at a time without showering or brushing my teeth. Trash building in piles all over the house. Dog shit on the floor. Reckless spending, no real cares. Almost certain that one day soon i would follow through on my promise.
Randomly last august I get hit up by a hiring manager at work - they tell me that I should apply for a job they’ve got posted, someone name dropped me and said I’ve got potential. I apply, get the job. Turns out I love the work, I get to creatively problem solve, give input, shape the way something that hundreds of thousands of people use every day works, but I’m struggling with keeping up. SeptembeOctoberish Decide it’s time to give meds another shot and take inventory of my life. Things have leveled out and the meds I’m on virtually eliminated the suicidal thoughts and depression. I need to find a therapist and have a lot more work to do just to get my head on completely straight, but I’ve got the capacity to think and act in my own best interest for now.
Where I’m at now - About 45k in credit card debt over the course of last year. Was on a debt management plan for 2-3 months towards the start of this year but even with those reduced payments and the raise from promotion I was still overdrawing my account so I stopped that - the stress was actively causing me more distress and making me lose hope that things could be better and that I could dig myself out of this. Haven’t made payments in several months and things are starting to go to collections. Made mental health and stability the priority. Thought get my head on straight then figure out financial situation and that’s how we got to me making this post today.
I’m still working on trying to reel in my spending habits and not act on impulse but it’s a lot to try to do everything all at once after free fall and no maintenance for so long. I don’t really know what to do from here or how to get started on fixing this in a sustainable way.

2023.06.07 05:41 girlthatsbilly Cursed Totem

Adeyemi clan esoteric technique: Cursed Totem
Cursed Totems are wooden totems that at the time of crafting are imbued with 1 of serval barrier techniques for later activation or even remote activation. By preforming the "seal of release" (done by clasping both hands together in front of your chest, interlocking your finger while leaving your thumbs and pinkies pointed upwards and touching) and directing cursed energy into the totem, the totem is broken unleashing the barrier technique inside. This technique was developed by the members of the Adeyemi clan who did not have a cursed technique out of necessity, being rejected from Jujutsu society they have rarely ever received any help in matters that would call for a jujutsu sorcerer. So, self-defense and self-reliance became a top priority. leading to the wide use of this technique by many Adeyemi clan members.

Warding Totem:
The Warding Totem is crafted from sturdy oak wood and embedded with ancient symbols. It invokes a simple barrier technique that creates a protective shield in front of the user. This shield can deflect and disperse incoming attacks, providing an extra layer of defense.

Concealment Totem:
Carved from smooth mahogany the Concealment Totem is adorned with symbols that invoke a camouflage barrier. When activated, it creates a barrier that renders any and all cursed energy inside its range completely undetectable. This allows the user to hide from enemies or step-up ambushes.

Extinguishing Totem:
Carved from ancient redwood the Extinguisher Totem is the most costly of the set to craft in both time and cursed energy. Inscribed with ancient symbols and a domain amplification, once activated it extinguishes any cursed technique within its area of affect. leaving any unsuspected target vulnerable for a powerful attack. Although strong enough curses or sorcerers can overpower its effects.

Storage bags for back trunk.
Storage bags with hook and loop fasteners that will attach to the trunk liner. Bags are for tactical/molle webbing setups, but nice addition.

2023.06.07 04:29 Catfish_Man Is there anything like a "Nevio" couch from Macy's that's not made out of balsa wood and chewing gum?

I have read the pinned sectional guide, and I think this is somewhat different, but I won't hold it against y'all if you decide otherwise and delete it <3
We got a Nevio fabric sectional from Macy's and it was extremely comfortable. Guests kept falling asleep on it unexpectedly, yet it was also supportive enough to be good for sitting long term without being sore afterwards.
Unfortunately, it was complete junk in terms of durability. The powered recliner bits broke fairly quickly (ok fine I can live with that), but then some of the support wood beams cracked too, all in just a year or so of use.
We then turned to Lovesac with lovesoft fill: hooray! Modular, features (storage!), washable, heart eyes! Unfortunately we feel like crap after sitting on it for any significant amount of time due to high arms + low back + terrible support + cushion sliding, so after almost a year of trying to make it work we're returning it. Failed at job #1 of being a couch.
We've investigated the Bondi from Inside Weather, but a plethora of reviews suggest it's going to be a similar experience to Lovesac.
We're willing to compromise on many aspects of this if we can hit the core "neither human nor couch disintegrates" need:
So, does anyone have suggestions on something with similar sitting properties to the Nevio that doesn't disintegrate after a year of use? Washability and dog/child resistance is the one other area that would be hard to compromise on.
