2023.05.28 14:34 Logarhythm15 Travel Planning advice for OU/UCF Game
Hey OU peeps, UCF fan here. I posted this on the CFB subreddit but got recommended to post here. I need some help with travel planning for the OU/UCF game on Oct. 21.
Where is the best place to stay Friday to Sunday? Is it more cost effective to get a hotel in OKC or Norman? Should I get a rental car or just Uber everywhere?
What are some go-to food options and things to do?
I'm really excited to explore new places and can't wait for this game. It's a mini rivalry for us with DG.
Thanks!

2023.05.28 14:29 Thick-Ad-6750 We’re Both the Assholes Now What?!
My family and I, 43 female, had been planning a trip to the happiest place on earth for almost a year for thanksgiving 2022. Since we booked a condo and had extra room-we invited my little brother and sister in law to be to go with us too. They’re both 25 I only mention this because I think it affects the story.
So fast forward to the Fall. We lose our other brother to deteriorating health. Although not completely unexpected-he was still my little brother and it was avoidable so it was absolutely devastating. I said then we should reschedule the trip-my dad insisted that the kids had been waiting for this and my brother wouldn’t have wanted that. So we pushed through.
It’s just my dad, so I took on the role as the oldest sibling as I usually do, and planned his entire memorial. I didn’t give myself a chance to process until it was over. And when I did I fell completely apart. To the point that I had to voluntarily admit myself into the hospital. We were now a WEEK out from our trip! My sis in law was packing as I was getting medicated!I know BIZARRE!! My sweet husband handled all the last minute trip items while he spoke to my doctors and they assured him I would be ok and I just needed to get a few meds and grief takes time, etc. So we moved forward with the trip. And I’m glad we did…for the most part.
So I get out, I turn around and pack to leave two days later. We’re traveling with myself and spouse, my brother and sis in law, my 12 year old Star Wars fanatic of a kid, meeting our foreign exchange student from a previous year in Orlando, and my special needs sister who lives with us. All of us in a condo and a week in the parks. I’m sure this sounds like we’re crazy already right?! But- We arrive at our destination, spend several wonderful days in both big theme parks and have a wonderful time!
Until day five. The plan was for us to take the Star Wars nut to Star Wars and my brother to take my sister for the morning/early afternoon. I assumed we’d meet up by lunch or something. Communication isn’t easy when you’re 1-having a great time 2-on and off rides 3-in a crowded theme park. So there was a miscommunication on when we were meeting up let’s just say that.
Brother & sis in law wanted to ride a ride that had a long wait time. When I called to check on when and where to meet they told me they’d left my sister at the exit to the ride and were in line to ride it. They said they left her w/food and a drink and she’d be fine. Now the last time I checked the wait time on that ride it said 3 hours-so I FLIPPED out! I yelled something at him over the phone half in hysterics and raced across the entire park, to the exit to find my sister. I found her! My husband, kid and exchange student met up with us later and all was fine, thank god. But I was Infuriated and shocked that he would do this. And my mama bear (mom of 3 plus 1) kicked in. When we met up with them he was mad I hung up on him?! I exploded!!! Yes, in public, at the happiest place on earth. And so there we were being an embarrassment. He walked away because he wasn’t going to be a part of it, my sister in law started crying because she couldn’t find him-it was a cluster****!
Late that night back at the condo, they all left so we could us try to talk it out. And instead of making things better I threw some below the belt comments that I don’t think I did intentionally, but I was an emotional mess at the time and he was an explosive bear by this point. And It was UGLY! It ended up with them taking our shared rental car staying in a hotel the last day and not even going to the parks and leaving on a different flight. :(
I know we both could’ve handled it better; but little brother is the age of my oldest son! So I know I’m the adultier adult. We have NEVER fought like this! Our family doesn’t DO this! We were SO close, his gf and I like sisters. He was like all that I have left and we haven't spoken since. I know we were both *****. I want them back, like how things used to be. There’s a hole in my heart and I miss them so much! Is there any hope?!

2023.05.28 14:26 viix- Question about religious dentists
Hello, I'm not sure if this is okay to ask about on here but I have no idea where else to ask.
Long post because I want to provide the full context of my experience with a dentist. I want to know if I should report my experience to the board or if it's acceptable for religious doctors to be like this. So, I had an appointment with a dentist I'd never met, and I believe he mistreated me due to my religious beliefs from my pre-appointment paperwork. He tried pushing his religion onto me *literally* the entire time he was in the room, I repeatedly told him I'm not interested. He said that his job is to save me from my "inevitable fate after death". He had multiple religious speeches he gave me, which sounded rehearsed, so I told him "I'm just confused why we're talking about religion and not my teeth". He got visibly annoyed and asked if I would pray with him to which I said sorry no I'm not comfortable with that. He then ended the appointment prematurely in an angry manner without addressing any of my concerns, cleaning me up, or going over the X-rays at all. He told me that I'm a sinner and I'm doomed to hell for eternity unless I let him save me. I didn't know how to respond to a dentist condemning me to hell, I was incredibly (too) nice to him. I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth causing me severe pain, and I had to ask him in the lobby, "So, is it my wisdom teeth causing the pain?" (I had no idea or confirmation at that point) and he just said "yep". He didn't give any information other than that, then proceeded to hand me 3 pamphlets about God and told me to sit in my car and think long and hard about the mistake I'd made by not converting... (Front desk told me I needed them extracted ASAP and sent a referral to a surgeon. I had to ask his staff to email me my X-rays since he didn't show me them.)
It's been a few months but it still really, really bothers me how he treated me. It provoked me to check his reviews and there were some terrible ones I found, some referencing similar experiences, some saying that he and his wife run for local office using patients' personal information to solicit votes, crazy stuff I've never heard said about any dentist. His responses to critical reviews are equally disturbing, he just blames the patient for not being understanding, educated, or accusing them of being racist or a "veteran hater" if they speak up about their experiences with him. His facebook and business website is plastered with Donald Trump worship as well, with "MAGA" is in his website name, in the title that he calls himself, advertised on the building, and everything. Just something else I noticed that didn't seem very professional for a dentist.
My mom has been seeing him for years with no problem, says he's always super nice and thorough - but she is already religious, which is why I feel he only mistreated me due to my religious stance. I hadn't seen a dentist since I was 16 (21 now) so I just don't know if this is acceptable or not. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

2023.05.28 14:17 MHere88 18M earning 30+ lacs a month
So a few days ago, I asked a general question for research, where I mentioned my income for a purpose.
I received a lot of DMs asking me about how I do it, so today InshaAllah I’ll tell you exactly everything you’ll need and I am going to be completely transparent and gonna do it for the sake of Allah SWT and not for personal benefits.
Starting off, I going to turn 18 in a month InshaAllah, From the childhood, I was very interested in technology, built my first RC car at the age of 12 all by myself & I used to teach fellow students about strategy to study less & perform good.
So everything was going good but Covid ruined everything financially.
So by living at a very small house with very low expenses, total expense was around 40k and I couldn’t see my parents struggle to find that amount.
So I’ve been a person interested in reading books, researching things up, writing diaries on whole topics etc.
I also learnt video editing, 2d animation and some programming stuff just for fun around a year before Covid.
So I used those skills to create some amazing video when I was 14 I guess, not sure, after many “Failed” ideas, one of my video went viral and got 100million views in a single month and got me 300k subscribers, But right after a month, I got a copyright strike because I used copyright free music which was later bought by a copyright company.
So I still have the channel but it’s dead, even got silver play button from it.
At that time I learnt game development skills and I many other skills cause I was really into tech and couldn’t leave something once I start it.
So my brother who was 4 years old gave me an idea of creating a fiverr account, my brother is Alhamdulillah a very intelligent kid and he is my best friend honestly.
So we created fiverr account, after 4 months, got first client, it was a small order, a very small one indeed.
It was a new technology but I learnt it and completed the project and got 5 star reviews Alhamdulillah.
So sales started coming, got 10 orders that month and gig ranking dropped, a scammer contacted me asked my to do a project for her, she was from India residing in USA, I had to learn several new softwares and worked for two months for $100 ( she didn’t placed the order tho and asked me to talk on Skype so communication would be outside fiverr )
In short after two months she didn’t placed order, took my work and made my fiverr suspended.
I was pretty shocked for 5 months but I never let me emotions take over me so,
In these five months, I learned to use each and every program and developed many strong skills and I was able to create results better than people with years of experience.
So started another fiverr and this time got 30 orders and my parents were happy and we decided to move into a new house which was also on rent, but the day we decided, my gig again deranked, this time I again worked hard for a well ( 18-20 hours a day ), used to eat at my table, and learnt metaverse and stuff related to that and Alhamdulillah that gig ranked.
then I moved out of fiverr and started researching about Sales, leads, marketing and Alhamdulillah started an agency offering metaverse services that got me to 10 lacs a month.
From that point onward, I focused on physical stuff, starting lifting weight ( a little bit ), started doing boxing and trained so much that now anybody can barely beat me in a spar, I researched a lot of different topics, wrote complete diaries about business and types ( if I hand that diary to a person with skills, he can build an empire within a year ) so basically there was a lot of info in it.
Also wrote diaries about boxing, public speaking and researching a lot.
Now my inter part 1 exams were in two months, so I decided to work full time for 1 months and Alhamdulillah grew income to 30 lacs+ and automated everything.
I am very well known in Intellectual conversations specially on serious topics like politics, religion & business, I've heard a tons of compliments in the past year Alhamdulillah & It gave me the motivation to keep learning & researching
So this was my story for everybody who is interested, it was full of hustle, I was a deep thinker so my backup plans have backups plans, and I’ve never been addicted to anything, nor phone, nor gaming etc Alhamdulillah.
So all thanks to Allah SWT, now good news for you guys, if you have any questions, dm me, I’ll be writing posts about the questions and I’ll try my best to answer everybody in inbox and comments but my exams are going on so don’t mind the delay.
Another good news is I have mentored a lot of relatives and friends and Alhamdulillah by now they’re all doing pretty good.
So I am thinking to start a YouTube channel in which I’ll teach you about every business model by showing case studies of my businesses, I’ve did YouTube, dropshipping, SMMA and almost everything possible in online world,
I’ll also help out everybody whether you’re a beginner and looking to start or a pro but looking to scale
it’ll be completely free as I am doing it only to help everybody. So if you guys are interested, ask me any questions whatever you want but make sure to include “beginner” if you have never earned from online stuff, “intermediate” if your income is around 0-5 lacs “Pro” if it’s 5-20 lacs “Extremely pro” if it’s above 20 lacs
If you’re a pro or extremely pro, I’ll help you out to grow even more cause I have a lot of networks and connections + experience in every field, and for beginners I’ll guide you throughout the path to make it super clear and easy for you.
For all my sisters, feel free to ask too cause a friend of mine who is like a sister to me, I’ll ask her help to help girls out, just use sturucture above so I won’t have to ask later.
Thanks and due to exams, It might take a little long for me to respond but I’ll definitely try my best.
JazakAllah!

2023.05.28 14:16 WillSRobs Would you still buy?
So I have been getting closer and closer to buying a second car for fun. Been getting unlucky on some specialty runs. GR Corolla had like ten that came to my region. Civic Type R may not happen with no dealer knowing how many they will be getting now in my area. So I started reviewing my list of wants and moved over to 2 door sports cars.
Ultimately started sending out interest for the 2024 year, which lined up with when I wanted to spend the cash and find dealers near me have never been allocated for a manual version.
So this lead me to my curious question if you couldn’t get your hands on the manual would you settle for automatic or move on to find a different car or find an other dealer even if the distance is far away?

2023.05.28 14:12 TrulyMango ISO: Amateur photographer/anyone with a phone camera in Leander for a small gig
Hi all,
I’m looking to hire someone to take a quick trip to a property of mine in Leander (78641) that I’ve rented out to take some pics. Wanting pics of the outside/side of the house. Can be taken from across the street, pics can be taken from inside your car. You don’t have to go out of your way to take portraits. Not looking for anything fancy.
I’m out of state and can’t make it over anytime soon. I want to get started on some new landscaping as the existing lease is up soon, looking to refresh the outside and get it ready for new tenants. I’d like to get an idea of what I’m working with and the state of the property since leaving it. That being said, if anyone has a landscaping company they recommend, please do chime in!
I’ve asked the realtor who handled the rental agreement to do this for me and was told it’s not a service they provide. I’ve asked the tenants nicely and they’ve ignored my emails. 😅
If anyone has some spare time and wants to make some quick cash for a couple photos, let me know. Thanks!

2023.05.28 14:09 mossychicken Help me put together an informal tenancy agreement?
Im not sure if anyone here would be able to help but due to the unusual/uncommon nature of the ‘tenancy’ I didn’t really feel like I would get a helpful response from any homeowner Reddit pages - most people I speak to have a very classic capitalist stance which I understand but I don’t want to do that.
I’ve never written a tenancy agreement before. To set the scene, I own my own flat and have had several friends live with me over the past 7 years- I never made any written tenancy letters, instead I had verbal agreements that the utilities would be split between us equally, I suppose I’ve been lucky that the people I’ve shared my space with haven’t taken advantage of this and I have good relationships with them still after moving out.
My current housemate moved in with me a year before the pandemic- when lockdown kicked in another friend moved in and we all applied for UC. At the time I didn’t have the capacity to think ‘I should make a tenancy agreement so that people can contribute towards bills more comfortably’ In retrospect it would have been a lot smarter but what can I say, despite owning a flat I’m not a landlord and have no knowledge or experience and also mentally unstable 25 year old.
I’m now trying to put together a tenancy agreement for her (I need to be a bit sneaky and make one that looks like it was from when she moved in) so that they can be awarded housing benefits. The ‘rent’ would mean they’re able to continue contributing towards bills, due to the increased costs it means that if they contribute towards bills it would be at least half of their universal credit which of course has an effect on her universal credit which then has an effect on her mental health.
I suppose I’m worried that they will smell somethings off as I don’t think I’m supposed to be living in the same flat as a tenant- I’m not sure how obvious that will be, also I’m not sure how to word that there was no rental amount, in lieu of that there was a sliding scale type monthly contribution towards the rent (no more than £300)
Basically I’m a bit out of my depth and feel like I’m a baby in a trench coat attempting to convince a salesperson to sell me a car. As far as I know the worst case scenario is that she just isn’t awarded it, however I really hope that it will work what with the cost of living atm I’m now actively financially suffering from the costs where previously it felt like a symbiotic situation. Happy to discuss and answer any questions 😭

2023.05.28 14:02 idonmakefriends TATA TIAGO XZ PLUS VS GRAND i10 NIOS SPORTZ
Hi, This is my first post here and I am planning to buy a new car and currently considering these two as these are the only ones which can fit in the parking space of my home.
I was also considering IGNIS but after the test drive I found out that the ride was a bit bumpy and the thigh support in the rear seat was not adequate.
I am confused between these two because of these reasons :-
- Safety - Tiago is 4 star rated in terms of safety but i10 NIOS is just 2 star rated but it is having 2 extra airbags.
- Interior - Tiago’s interior is just okay and the fit and finish is not that great if compared with i10 NIOS.
- Exterior - The exterior looks of Tiago looks more appealing to me as it’s having aerodynamic sharp edges and also having diamond cut alloy wheels as compared to i10’s steel wheels with style covers and no fog lamps and curved design.
- Features - The feature list is almost same for both but i10 NIOS is having extra bells and whistles like TPMS and cruise control.
- Engine - Tiago is having 3 Cylinder engine which is not as refined and silent as i10’s 4 cylinder engine but the power figures are same.
Because of these reasons I’m pretty confused between the two and not able to make a decision.
Any suggestions or opinions and ownership reviews for both will be appreciated.

2023.05.28 13:54 Donut_Dude Planned hikes seem to have too much snow still. Can someone recommend some alternatives?
I'll be in Norway from 5-12 June for a solo hiking trip. My plan was to do 2 hikes: Bakkanosi (camp at the top) and a 3-day trip in Jotunheimen (Tyinholmen-> Skogadalsbøen -> DNT Vettismorki -> Tyinholmen all with the tent). But when I see this map:
https://www.senorge.no/?lang=en It seems there will be too much snow still on both those hikes for normal hiking boots. Can anyone confirm this?
If there would indeed be too much snow for hiking, can anyone recommend some nice 2 or 3 day hikes which would be better. Wild camping or DNT huts are both fine. I have a rental car and the plane lands in Bergen. So I'm pretty flexible where to go.
Greetings from Belgium

2023.05.28 13:39 fgransee Europcar (Jimny / 2 weeks) - My experience
The pickup was rough. They first gave me a contact for a different car and when I asked about my reservation for the Jimny they called the other 2WD an „upgrade“. When I insisted on the Jimny the manager came out and wanted to argue with me that I don’t need a 4WD and wanted to know why I chose that. „None of your business“ was my reply of course. They had to cancel the first contract and then give me the car I reserved. Due to that, they said they could not sent me the rental agreement with the damage report until a few hours later. When I received that numerous damages were not listed. I took photos and videos before I even entered the car. Over the phone they said that this would be enough in case there would be a dispute. The drop off was smooth though. Quick visual inspection and no mentioning of the other unlisted damages.
So, overall I would rate this as a good experience. The Jimny is a great car for 2. Plenty of space for gear and drives really well. No CarPlay which was a bit annoying. Best to bring something to place your phone navigation on the dashboard. No cupholders and minimal space for anything up front (rain gear, water pouches)

2023.05.28 13:34 throwawaytongues546 Major career decision and opportunity but I am considering rejecting it due to housing ladder aspirations. What would you do in my situation?
I'm 25 and I've been offered a very rare opportunity to train in my dream field for 3 years starting in the end of September.
Last November I started saving for a deposit and currently have £13.5k and I will have around £6-7k extra to save/spend between now and my course start date.
For the first month of the course I'm unpaid but I will be for the rest. By the end of the 3 year training programme working in a qualified role my salary will go from it's current 30k to 45k-61k (the latter being more likely if I go to Oxford University).
Here's where it gets complicated. I've been offered this programme at two universities.
The programme at a London University:
I could live rent free but unfortunately in a toxic relationship dynamic that is not good for my mental health. But I would have a great support network around which is really important for my mental health.
While at this uni all my work placements are within a 30 minute radius. I also don't have to learn how to drive immediately before the course starts this September.
I would be on a 42k salary (£2600 after tax, NI and SFE) so I would be able to save a very large deposit over 1-3 years. But there is no guarantee this living arrangement will be permanent and I could end up renting in London after the 1st year.
I could comfortably save anywhere between 24k (1 year of savings) to 70k (3 years of savings) in that time for a deposit. This doesn't include a small wage increase half way through the programme (to 44k), LISA bonuses, interest or stocks and shares returns.
The programme at The University of Oxford:
I really want to go. There are so many things I like about the course which I won't delve into here. It was my first choice.Being able to have this opportunity is a big deal. An added bonus is I will be able to leave my current toxic living situation - the fresh start here on this course is really exciting.
But I will lose some of my support network though they are not far in London. Another caveat is the pay will be 35k (£2162 after tax, NI and SFE). I have to learn how to drive by the end of October and I will have to pay some kind of rent/housing expenses. On top of car costs and learning to drive and a deposit for a rental contract (which I could deduct from the 6-7k).
Rent costs could be anywhere between £850-1200 depending on whether I flat share or location. Which would reduce my deposit savings over that 3 years to 14-17.5k.
This is ssuming life doesn't come at me too fast and I can live a very minimal spending lifestyle, an old banger with no holidays. This doesn't include a very small wage increase half way through the programme (to 37k), LISA bonuses, interest or stocks and shares returns.
I was debating getting a shared ownership property (probably new build) property in Oxford as it works out about the same as renting and I'd be able to put down a 20% deposit with what I current have. But I'm not familiar with the process. Legal fees, surveyors and sorting out my driving will eat into the 6-7k I'll be getting between now and September.
Some of these properties are 2 beds with one ensuite. I know some fellow prospective course members looking to flat share to stay closer to the city centre. So I could have a lodger at discounted rent to cover the service charge and ground rent.
Even without having a lodger my ground rent service charge and mortgage combined are the same as just renting further away from work in a smaller property (with out accounting for any potential rent/service charge rises or repairs).
I would also be losing my FTB status and potentially 3k if I waited 3 years to buy with my LISA. but on the other hand I'll be building up some equity. An important caveat to all of this is I'm not sure how mortgage lenders would take my current 1 year contract, then 3 year paid training programme contract and an understanding of my qualified role pay increases.
And if I take too long to close a home ownership deal before September I still have the option to store my stuff for free and I can get a short lets for a few months in Oxford (around 600 a month) which I don't mind.
As generation rent I'm butthurt that huge housing prices has to be factored into rejecting my dreams. I know it should be a no brainer to choose my mental health and my dream course in Oxford, but equally a no brainer to choose the housing ladder but I don't know if I can have both.
I'm caught between whether I should stomach my current scenario for a bit longer for a larger deposit, rent in Oxford or try to buy a shared ownership property in Oxford to build up some equity over at least 3 years? What would you do in my shoes?

Looking at getting a Faraday box to store my (soon to be delivered) EV6 and wife’s car keys. Tried searching online for reviews of different brands, but they all look like adverts rather than objective reviews.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or articles showing pros/cons?
