We talked for a long time after we determined that we were, indeed, both into other men. We compared everything from bars and clubs we went to to how society accepted us. It seemed that a long time ago humans had a bit of trouble with it, but they had since gotten used to it. I couldn’t help but be a little jealous of him in fact. While same-sex stuff wasn’t illegal or discouraged it was not exactly “encouraged” either in the federation. Still, it was a blast to find out how much we had in common! They had the same problem our clubs did even! Men and women who were straight coming in and flirting with the wrong without a shred of a brahking clue why everyone was avoiding them, getting mad when they were hit on, and oh brahking speh the “soon to be paired” parties! I got its a club but come ON! I also loved how they had very similar dress practices as well, but they also had lots and lots of new clothing I could not WAIT to try out! So I didn’t. I broke the rule and slipped on some thigh-highs he had on hand. And yes, I did take a picture of them. They hugged my legs in alllll the best ways and hid the muscle and fur making them look fantastic! I also got a picture of Freddie staring. Poor guy even muttered “What have I done?” Well you just made this cutie even more cute! Would have to keep them away from the venlils though. This was MY time to shine! I added a cute pair of shorts and a shirt without sleeves. All bright colors that just seemed to hug my body in juuust the right way. Everything I put on I could tell freddie was even more focused on me. Did I tease him by flicking my tail a few more times than normal? Duh. Of course I did! After a few more photos Freddie walked into the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face. I knew the act VERY well after all the stuff I would do to tease on trains. I hopped off the bed, then looked up at the ceiling before falling right on my ass. Turns out socks are evil if you are not careful. My paws slipped right from under me as if I was on ice! I let out a long groan, closing my eyes and covering my ears as Freddie laughing at me hurt my pride far more than the fall hurt my butt. I guess nothing can be perfect. Once he laughed at me for awhile he helped me up and we started to walk down the halls. He said something about “We should probably meet up with the others” and “can’t wait to show you the train sets!” Honestly? I was still too focused on my sore rear and making sure the socks didn’t betray me again. I was going to keep them on though. For once I felt cuter than a venlil! Get shaved Lyiel! This yotul is upping his game! Soon we walked into a rather large room. On the other side I could see a tilfish female happily talking away to a masked human female in a lab coat. He wasn’t anythi- “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!” I jumped then frantically looked around to try to find what venlil screamed. Such a high pitch and pure terror HAD to have been from one of them! Maybe two humans in the same… room… Freddie was hiding behind me. A HUMAN WAS HIDING BEHIND ME!? “How?” I looked over at the other two and the tilfish was hiding behind the human. That, and putting some coins into his hand as she rubbed her antennae. “How did you know the human would scream? How is a predator scared of prey!?” She asked, clearly very confused. Don’t worry, I was juuuust as confused as you were tilfish. “Holy shit. Sorry. DId not expect a large bug.” Freddie slipped out from behind me and walked up to the pair. “Sally! How are you?” He asked before shaking the other human’s hand. As they started to talk my eyes were drawn to what took up most of the room. It was a mini world. Mountains, rivers, oceans, towns, all still and all smaller than a dossur! Everything was hand painted and made with it all laid out to look like what I assumed was earth land. It was gorgeous! Even the trees seemed to be ready to be wandered through on one’s way to the nice and cozy river from that small town by the mountains! It… reminded me of home. I never stayed in my little town long. Not much opportunities for a guy like me in more ways than one. Still, the trains took me in and I found my place. Trains? My eyes locked on long metal strips that laced through everything. Through the mountains, over the rivers, into the towns. Long metal train tracks snaked through everything. And on those tracks ran trains. I saw sleek, futuristic trains that were loaded with slender cars full of mini people, I saw the thick industrial designs (that I could honestly do without) loaded with what looked like old, rusty, beat up cars covered in strange art. Then I saw them. The round, elegant, gleaming red of a human steam engine rattling along the tracks pulling cars that looked to be beyond what even our old luxury train cars had. Steam rising up out of their tiny stacks and drifting over the carts just like they had back on my home world. I had been on the very last of the steam trains before they had been decommissioned. They had held on for much, MUCH longer than the feds had wanted simply due to them being advertised as luxury transportation. Didn’t last forever though. But here was one such luxury dancing through the town and over the hills. Gliding along while puffing proudly. It was clearly an ancient design, but that just made it feel even more special. I squatted down as it started to rattle on by to look into its windows. Sure enough there were people inside. Rich humans relaxing and lounging while others in the kind of uniforms I missed so much “walked” around within. This was wonderful! My tail flicked about happily as I let the humans catch up. However soon I heard the telltale clicking of tilfish beside me. “Its beautiful isn’t it?” She asked as she looked around. “I am Xelo. I volunteered to meet with humans because I wanted to know more about their art.” She explained. “I knew it was scary and dangerous, but an artist must suffer for their work! It is what separates the hobbyist from the true professional. I never expected anything like this.” She confessed as she rubbed her antennae some more. “I had planned to be the first tilfish to paint a human’s portrait, but then my human, Sally, showed me this.” She motioned to the train rolling by. “The design, the colors, the way they painted the miniature statues! It's unlike anything I have ever seen before! Oh its gorgeous! I looked everywhere but it seems like no species has ever come CLOSE to such elegance in design and looks!” She clicked away happily going on more about wondering how they went about making such a diorama and more. “We did.” She paused and looked at me confused. “We had such beautiful trains. The height of luxury. I worked on a few so I should know.” I explained before motioning to the bright red engine. “It… it isn’t in any records though? I looked! I mean, once I saw this I had to know if we had such scenes of our own to compare to!” She chittered as she looked between me and the diorama. “Well. They were obsolete according to the feds. Sure they were comfy, luxurious, and the best way to travel in opulence but no. Had to go.” I growled just a little. “Doesn’t surprise me that its not recorded either. Why waste time on recording trash?” I took a deep breath before I felt a hand on my shoulder. I froze before looking back to see Freddie. “They did what with your trains?” He asked slowly and calmly. “They destroyed your history?” History? How could a train be history?

I want to see the scene where tje Dirty Cop(tm) swaggers into the dim garage, sees the mechanic’s legs sticking out from beneath a ‘69 Chevelle, grins an evil grin and begins his torturous interrogation. The mechanic looks over at the sturdy jack stand hidden under the car beside his head, screams in mock fear and pain and lies his way to safety. Let’s see that scene.

Recent grad here.. looking to buy my 1st car for work and not sure about the process of financing a car. I saw on the Toyota's website they are offering 4% APR for new models.
I have relatively new credit history(< 2 years) and a score in 730s. I would be looking to put a 2-3k down payment and paying less than $500 monthly(4 yr).
My questions are:
  1. Will the local Toyota dealership offer the same APR? or even better?
  2. Will they charge markup above the MSRP? Is that even negotiable if I am financing not outright buying it?
  3. How long would I have to wait for the delivery of the car?
Any general tips about buying/negotiating for a new car are welcome! Thanks

I'm 26F, 4yrs working experience.
Ever since na nagstart ako magwork kami kaming magkakapatid na may work ang sumasalo sa Loan ng magulang ko, naka-collateral kasi yung bahay namin.
tapos ako na rin sumasalo sa every day needs ng family ko na nandito sa probinsya kasi nasa Manila yung dalawa kong kapatid.
Grabe yung bigat na Dalawa ang Pamilya sa isang bubong. Yep, sinasalo ko rin pamilya ng kuya ko, since wala sya work and nag-aaral pa daw.. (nakabuntis kasi kuya ko that time, sinalo ng mama ko which is di namin gustong magkakapatid.. wala lang kami magawa)
Ako na sumalo since matanda na mama ko and wala mga kapatid ko sa probinsya. Sila na bahala sa allowance ni mama (for maintenance)
Wala naman ako problem dito as long as may limitations, like may Grocery Limit ako sa Bahay para sa lahat, and di ko shoulder mga School Expenses ng mga anak nila (they have 3kids na) --- tulong ko nalang sa kuya ko tong kinakain nila sa araw araw plus electricity and water consumption..
I worked 3 jobs 1 full time and 2 part times.
I do exercises at home and jogging every Sat (just to make me sane)
KAYA NAKAKA-IYAK MAY CAR NAKO! (2nd hand/Surplus nga lang)
GOD will always provide talaga when everything you do is in Good Faith talaga..
Ang tanging Wish ko nalang is yung ggod health ng mom ko at pumasa kuya ko sa Vet Board Exam, I'll give him 6mos na mag-ipon.. tapos magbukod na sila..

I'm researching apartments in the area and Wentworth House seems like a great place with a competent management team. However, I'm trying to figure out if the garage would facilitate EV charging. My current apartment building's garage (in Baltimore) has limited outlets and I recently discovered that all of the outlets on one level are on the same branch circuit so only one EV can charge at a time on each of the 5 levels which sometimes results in tripped breakers when two cars on the opposite sides of the garage don't realize they are both on the same circuit. Do any residents who live there know if more than one EV can charge at the same time in the garage either because you own one or you've noticed others charging?

2023.06.06 04:19 werdedout Can smashing a finger lead to fainting?

29M, 5'6" Appx. 120lbs.
As indicated, I smashed my finger closing a door. Hurt like absolute hell though there was no bleeding or deformity. Last I recall was laying in bed with an ice pack on it to try and relieve the pain... then coming to maybe 2-3 minutes later.
It seems ridiculous that something like a finger injury could lead to blacking out but I have no other explanation for having done so. I'm not on any medications and/or drugs otherwise and have no history of fainting before.

First off I just have to get this out of the way, FaceTime on AppleTV is fucking sick!!!
I just made a test call to my friend and it looks so beautiful and awesome on my 85 inch tv. The whole setup process is seamless and very Apple. It just works.
Love the new control center! Looks so sleek and modern and love having so many controls at the clock of a button. Also we have a clock!
Menus look much more modern and look so much better.
Things that may be placebo, not sure:
  1. Using my AirPods Max to watch stuff, I feel like the surround sound is more crisp and clear. I don’t know how to explain it but it sounds much fuller and vibrant
  2. I feel like the Home Screen icons got smaller a tad so it’s easier on the eyes now and looks so much better.
  3. Colors seem to “pop out” more

Hey there SWWPodVeryUnofficial. This is a very important message from your mod team and we hope you take the time to read it.
Recently Reddit Inc has announced changes to their API which, if enacted, will shut down many, if not all, 3rd party apps that a large number of Redditors use to access and enjoy their favourite communities - this one included.
One of the most critical changes to the API is that it is moving from a free to a paid model, resulting in expenses that developers of 3rd party apps simply cannot afford. To put the price change in to context, Apollo, one of the most popular 3rd party apps for Reddit, is looking at a cost of $1.7 million per month to continue operating. That's a cost of $12,000 per 50 million API requests. In contrast, Apollo pays Imgur $166 for every 50 million API calls.
This means popular apps like Apollo, Reddit Is Fun, Narwhal and many more will have to shut down, permanently.
Even if you're not using a 3rd party app yourself, these changes are likely to impact the communities you enjoy as well, with the vast majority of moderation teams relying on 3rd party or self-made tools, that utilise Reddit's API.
For the visually impaired, Reddit on iOS is a disaster.
Here is how this was explained from a moderator over at blind :
“On Android, the official Reddit mobile app is reasonably usable with the Android screen reader, but the experience on iOS is a completely different story. There are missing elements, broken navigation, nonsensical labels, and more problems that plague those who just want to interact with the site. If you decide to become a moderator the problems are compounded even more.
Third party apps, like Dystopia for Reddit and Apollo, have addressed this niche left so underserved for so many years because Reddit won't. It took literal years of tickets and complaints to get New Reddit to be accessible, and now the door has been shut in our collective faces. As things currently stand, this change doesn't just take away our clients; it takes away our voice.
It takes away our voice.
And what is reddit's official response to this madness? (Make no mistake, this move by reddit is madness.)
Figure it out yourself.
Here is where we stand on June 3rd: Reddit has nothing but contempt for its users, mods, and developers.

This action isn't something we take lightly.
We understand that many of you enjoy coming here on a daily basis to keep up with SWW drama but we believe that we must take a stand on this topic - and this is how we can do so.
We understand that Reddit is a company that has to make money in order to offer us a place to be the community that we are - but killing beloved 3rd party apps is not they way to do it.
We are not asking Reddit to provide a paid service for free - we are asking for reasonable pricing for apps that people have come to love and depend on to parcitipate in their communities.
We can't tell you that the blackout will solve the problem, because we simply don't know. But we have to try.
What you can do to support this
While subs going dark is one thing, regular users can help as well.
Reach out to Reddit via the channels available to you: Modmail reddit, comment in relevant posts regarding the API changes, submit your comments via the contact forms.
Spread the word about the changes and the consequences where you can. Doesn't have to be on Reddit. The important thing is getting it attention.
Participate in the communities that highlight this issue: Save3rdPartyApps, apolloapp, redditisfun, getnarwhal/
And finally stay off Reddit completely from June 12th to 14th. The blackout is one thing, but users staying away from the site entirely will send an equally important message.
But don't forget: Don't be a jerk. As frustrating as this is, being toxic or aggressive is not the way to go. Remember the human on the other side of the screen.

Something that has good protection for if it rains and is big enough to have 1-2 cots or a full sized air mattress in them with a little room to spare for a couple bags? No preference on number of doors.
Not looking for anything crazy mostly something of good quality that will last when taken care of.

2023.06.06 04:18 saivoide How can I (25f) respectfully decline a work meetup after already declining once?

I wfh, there's 2 other people in my province that work at the same company remotely. 1 of them is the VP of another department, and hes been insisting that 3 of us meet up for lunch on the 23rd.
Here's my issue: it's scheduled for mid day, which means traffic time and I don't have a car. I finish work at 4pm this will run till 5pm. I still have no idea where this lunch is supposed to take place and hes rescheduled twice.
Second, he's not my boss and there's no agenda or real reason why we're meeting up in person. It's two grown men in their 40s and me. Just for the sake of "meeting up".
I declined once but then he rescheduled again - and i don't want to go. I dont know what the most professional way to say it is and I don't want to run the risk of being rude.
But its just such a hassle. They're from completely different departments too.
What can i say?

It's in order of me thinking about it. I need this off my chest.
  1. The freezer in the back freezes shut, the exit button doesn't work. Sometimes, the door either shocks us or showers us in sparks.
  2. The rotisserie oven "backfires" aka flames shoot out of the heating element and there's a boom. The oven was put in seven years ago, turns out it's thirty years old. No replacement parts allegedly.
  3. There were exposed wires behind the fryers. The manager looked right at it. It was only fixed because corporate needed to time how long we filter the grease.
  4. There's black mold around the deathtrap freezer.
  5. My dept manager refuses to print the schedule that allows us to see who is coming in and when. Ex. I didn't know the cake decorator was on vacation.
  6. The bakery workers leave at four or five. Us deli workers are expected to take cake orders.
  7. The frail woman who works GM was in so much pain this weekend was laying in the floor in the breakroom. She keeps asking for a helper. (We keep losing pricing workers for same reason.)
  8. My coworker had a serious coughing fit in break room, the district manager shushed her.
  9. The deli manager leaves cold food on a cart pushed up against the very hot rotisserie oven and she doesn't want us putting the food back in the cooler. (Cold foods such as salad, cooked Asian food, cooked chicken and macaroni and cheese.
  10. Deli manager leaving bags of mac and cheese or mashed potatoes on top of the not hot oven instead of using the warmer. She'll also leave cooked chicken sitting inside not hot, open oven for hours.
  11. In 2020, co-manager went to Mardi Gras, got sick. He came back and had us all sign papers saying we wouldn't talk about Covid with each other or customers. He also tried to claim workers who tested positive we lying. He also tried to deny their leave because they were tested "in wrong place". Today, he told me he expected me to tell the truth and not lie to him like the other deli workers. We are NOT allies. Period.

2023.06.06 04:15 cruelfeline Forspoken Critique From Someone who Absolutely Adores This Game

So! This subreddit gets so, so many "is this game any good?" type posts. Fairly standard post type, understandable given the game going on sale periodically, people trying to see if it's worth playing despite the negative reviews, so on and so forth.
But there's not a lot of posts on here that really go into significant detail regarding what players who actually enjoy the game find objectionable. There's a few, and there's always replies to the "is this game any good?" posts, but I think it would be helpful to have more. At least, I can imagine, as someone on the fence, wanting to read legit critique from experienced players rather than having to wade through the detritus of low-effort reviews from people who've barely played the game.
I've played over 100 hours, earned my first-ever platinum, and am enamored with this game. These are the aspects of it that I feel could use serious work.

The opening is very, very slow.
Not specifically the NYC bit; that doesn't overstay its welcome much, and I find that it provides some important insight into what Frey's life is like before Athia. I mean, specifically, the stealth bit while escaping prison. It's slow, it's tedious, and it doesn't really add anything. Like... the DLC does something similar, y'know? In its opening. But when I played the DLC, it bothered me so much less because I felt that it (a) went a little faster and (b) provided some new, interesting information while progressing. There's not enough to see or hear or learn during the base game's opening stealth bit, so it's tedious and frustrating. If a game is going to have this sort of slow part where you're limited in what gameplay you can engage in, I find it far more bearable when I at least learn something interesting or useful during it. Otherwise, it just drags.

There are specific instances within the game where, for reasons I don't understand, the gameplay will pause and the screen fade to black before allowing things to move ahead.
The best example I can think of is the sheep-feeding bit early on. Feed a sheep, fade to black, get tiny written prompt, move on. I cannot for the life of me understand why the game does this. Was something supposed to be in the pauses, but it was cut for time? Was it some sort of odd limitation of the game engine? I don't know, but it's jarring and weird and something I am stunned wasn't sniffed out and eradicated in playtesting.

The loot system.
This is a tough one because, while recognizing that I found the umpteen treasure chests ultimately something of a let-down to open, I also couldn't figure a better thing to put in them outside of more crafting materials. The way that the game functions, in terms of loot, makes sense in lore. And the fact that you don't find a whole bunch of armor and weapons makes sense for who and what Frey is, how she fights, and how she ultimately functions as a player character. At the same time, finding a plant in a treasure chest you just did elaborate, fancy parkour to get to is underwhelming, especially when that same plant grows in large patches on the ground and can be easily obtained by just bopping around for a few minutes. I don't have a good solution for this... some other sorts of collectibles? A more robust crafting system? I'm not sure. I'm not a game developer... but I know that the current loot system was a big "meh" for me.

Points of interest needed more uniqueness.
A common complaint I've seen about this game is that it's a big open world that is empty. And that's... not factually true. It has many, many different points of interest in it: caves and towns and ruins and forts. The problem, to me, is that nothing distinguishes these places from one another. Nothing distinguishes cave X from cave Y. Nothing makes one town different from its neighbor. This is what makes the game world feel empty: there's a whole lot to see, but so much of it isn't memorable and feels very same-y very quickly.
There are, mind you, a few exceptions, and because they are unique, they stand out! There was one pond-like spot that essentially involved a crocodile ambush with unique dialogue. A cave where a Breakborn had collected only skulls that both Frey and Cuff commented on because it was creepy and weird. Another cave with a specific bear-themed ambush that had hilariously absurd Cuff commentary involved. These are things I remember fondly, but they're few and far in between. They should have been more the norm. Each town should have had something to remember it by: unique buildings, structures, themes, whatever. More caves should have had interesting bits of lore attached. If each point of interest had been more... well, interesting, then the world wouldn't feel empty.

The dialogue.
Oh, the dialogue. And no, it's not what y'all think. I love the dialogue. Frey and Cuff are my favorite-character sweethearts, and I love listening to them bicker with one another. I literally have all 2.5 hours of banter collected into a single file to listen to at my leisure. The dialogue is what led me to sink over a hundred hours of playtime into this game. I am here for the dialogue. I am here for these two characters. But! The way the dialogue functions, and what it means for the player's story and character experience, is problematic.
Forspoken, by the nature of its characters, is heavily dialogue-driven. This is a story about two individuals - Frey and Cuff - who are joined (unwillingly) by circumstance, and how their relationship grows and evolves over the course of their time together. This relationship is reflected in the dialogue. Part of it is, I expect, because that's what the developers wanted, and part is just practical: Cuff is... well, a cuff. He has no face. He has no overtly mobile body. He cannot emote in any way but through his dialogue. So dialogue it is.
Some of this dialogue plays during the main story cutscenes and is unmissable. That's all well and good, but for the story to work - for the relationship to feel natural - it's important to have a significant portion of the relationship reflected in "day-to-day" interactions. It doesn't feel right to have the relationship develop only in "big cutscene" moments; it needs the foundation built in the little day-to-day moments to work properly.
The problem is that those little day-to-day moments can be very variable in how they appear to the player. Depending on one's dialogue settings, one's in-game actions, one's general attention span, and possibly the position of the planets, one can have a very different experience in how the characters come across because one may or may not hear dialogue that is crucial to their relationship development.
There are dialogues I have heard once - once! - in over one hundred hours of playtime. There are dialogues I haven't heard in-game; I only know they exist because I have ~*problems*~ and ripped all the audio out of the files. Some of these are important! Dialogues that establish character nuance, that tell you specific things about Cuff or Frey or both that otherwise don't come across. And that's a problem! That's a problem because if you don't hear certain dialogues, for whatever reason, you are going to get to the endgame, and you are going to feel like what happens is random and unearned and unnatural. And you're going to assume that the characters were poorly written, or simplistic, and it's because you never went through the entire dialogue progression of Cuff teaching Frey how to read Athian, or whatever.
This is, if not my biggest, then certainly one of my biggest critiques of the game: if you're going to write a story that involves characters whose development leans Very Heavily on dialogue, then you need to make sure that dialogue plays properly for your players. You need to make sure they hear it. You need to make sure they can't opt out of it, or miss it, or whatever. Because if they miss that dialogue - especially when one of your major characters can only emote through dialogue - then they are going to miss what makes those characters work. And then they're going to go on YouTube and make dumb videos that make your game look bad for stupid reasons that could have been avoided with more detailed dialogue programming.

Conclusion
And that about wraps it up, I think! Those are my main critiques of this game, reflected upon after over one hundred hours of playtime. I hope they're useful to someone thinking about picking this game up, or at least provide something to think about in general.
Oh! And as a bonus:
Here are things people complain about that I don't have any problem with/actually love.
The main characters; Frey and Cuff are both darling, and the concept of them being "annoying" or "rude" or "unlikeable" is alien to me.The story, both what we see in Forspoken and the overarching story we'll likely never see fully realized. Its pacing, its nuances, its general content are all things I find delightful.Every stupid bit of banter that people find "cringe" is the height of comedy to me, and my mind cannot be changed.

I guess this is sort of a vent. For context, I was hired as a VA about 3 months ago. I have worked as a VA for about 1.5 years now.
So I went in for my overnight shift today and 30 minutes in, I was called in by 2 managers. They said they wanted to do a check in, considering that I was about to reach my 90 days. They explained that the 90 days was a probationary period, similar to an extended working interview. They asked me how everything was going and I explained to them that I’m doing quite well and that I’m comfortable with most of my tasks. I mentioned that one of the things that I’m not comfortable with is taking calls and checking people in an out because I haven’t been properly trained on it, and have had no hands-on experience with it.
The practice manager says, “Ok, well we have made the decision to cease employment at this time. I asked what the reason for that was. She said, “There’s no real reason. You just weren’t a good fit for us.” I asked her why they’ve decided I’m not a good fit. She said, “There’s no real reason. You can still use us as a reference. There are no negative feelings. You just weren’t a good fit.” I simply said ok and started walking out.
The other manager then tells me that they can grab my things for me. They didn’t want me going into the ICU and they didn’t allow me to say my goodbyes to anyone. I’m upset over the prevention of saying goodbye because those people were genuinely great coworkers. They were friendly, accepting, and happy to teach me, which is something my last two clinics did not have. I had co workers invite me to different places. I had one OFTEN bring me meals. I had others share their food with me. It’s just upsetting to not be able to thank them and say farewell.
Even before all this, I always planned to buy several people there gift bags for when I chose to leave, just to show my appreciation to them. I didn’t get a chance to do that.
After being walked out, I tried to see if I could message anyone and I saw that they had already removed me from all 3 work apps (Slack, Sling, and Bonusly). I have no way of contacting anyone, except if I were to pop up. Even then, I’m sure they removed my employee door code.
They also did all this while my favorite manager was on vacation out the country. She was an advocate for me and was definitely the most decent manager I’ve come across.
Ultimately, I don’t know why I was fired. I did my job, got it and got out, and just did my thing. I finished my lists ALWAYS. I jumped in whenever I was needed. The most I can come up with was that I was quiet and kept to myself. I didn’t relate to any of them. Of course I talked quite openly when people would spark conversation with me, but I’m the type of person that prioritizes just doing my job and keeping it rolling. I can come off as standoffish, but when given the chance to get comfortable in my setting, I’m chill. Perhaps that is the reason.
I will miss some of those coworkers and genuinely wish them well. It was refreshing to work with friendly people.
I don’t know why they let me go like that. It was a real dirty and unprofessional move. Any insight/thoughts/advice is welcome and appreciated though.

I spent nearly 2 years of my life with a man who subjected me to unspeakably cruel emotional and physical abuse. I stayed. I believed him when he said it was my fault. He is powerful, professionally speaking. It thrills him. I admire his work ethic. I admire his confidence. He is one of the smartest people I have ever met. I believe that anyone who knows him, except the few of us who have lived it, would never believe that he has the capacity to intentionally harm his intimate partners in order to dominate and control them. He is a democrat. He never hit me. I have no evidence.
The first time that he held me down during an argument, pinning me to his couch by my ankles so I could “calm down,” was 12 months before I moved into his home. When he apologized I told him I loved him. I knew long before the first time he pounded on my front door at 2:00 AM screaming “you better let me in” with such force it shook my windows that his former partner had written accounts detailing how he subjected her to physical and sexual violence. I’m embarrassed, mortified really, that I believed his explanation of these events. 10 months before he forced me to have sex with him while I showered as his entire immediate family ate breakfast downstairs, the sex become so rough and so violent that I would often urinate blood after. When my doctor asked me if I was experiencing violence, I said no. She told me she’d be in her office if I decided I wanted to talk to her once I dressed. I know I’m not the only woman who knows what the phrase “I’m sorry you had sex you didn’t want to have” sounds like coming out of his mouth.
It’s been months since he decided to end things and I while I am so ashamed that I spent the last few months begging and pleading to him that I could “be better,” I know (academically) that the psychological warfare he inflicted made it impossible for me to regulate my own emotions. It doesn’t make it any less embarrassing though. My desire to share my story, publicly- or even privately to mutual friends does not come from a desire to ruin his life or his career or the careers of the powerful people in our community/state who hire him. I feel I have an obligation to protect other women, and I’m so afraid that as he becomes more powerful the tactics he will employ to dominate and control his partners by any means necessary will only become more severe and more dangerous.

I 16F moved in with my dad (49) his girlfriend (47) and her 2 kids 12F and 16F - This is mainly about my dad and his girlfriend, I’ll call my dad “Dad” and his girlfriend “R” - I try to be as polite and respectful as possible but everyone has a limit. At first it was simple things I didn’t have an issue with like sweeping the floor doing the dishes watering the plants, stuff like that. But I started noticing it was only me doing this stuff R’s daughters were upstairs laying down, so I started asking “why can’t your daughters help me or do it?” It was always “they don’t feel good” or “I’m not asking them” I did it sometimes not wanting to cause any problems but eventually I got fed up. One day she storms into my room and yells at me for leaving a box by the trash can instead of taking it to the outside trash and tells me “that is the community trash I don’t want trash from your room in that trash can!” I respond with “you just said it’s the community trash so I’m gonna put my trash in there I don’t have a trash can in my room.” She gets mad and rants about irrelevant stuff like “you never wanna do anything anymore you just sit in your room playing your games!” Stuff along those lines I just stare at her and lay back down cause I felt this conversation is over, 5 minutes later my dad slams my door open and starts yelling at me and basically told me to comply because me giving my opinion and feelings is gonna rip our “family” apart. After that day I’ve been acting passive aggressively and she took it as “you have no respect for me” and took this to a whole new level. one day she told me she was gonna pick me up from school, so after school I wait in the front after a while I was confused why she wasn’t there because we are 15 minutes from school so I thought it was weird but I continue waiting, I get concerned cause I have anemia and needed water and my medicine so I try to go into the school the doors are locked. 2 hours later she pulls up to the school I get in the car and ignore her not speaking to her cause I was clearly upset she made me wait in 80 degree weather. Later that day my dad comes home early from work and slams open my door yelling at me telling me I need to stop being the way I am basically saying because I’ve been acting the way I’ve been acting makes R feel uncomfortable and unsafe making it my fault he chose to leave work early yelling at me blaming me for everything telling me I’m fucking up but then tries to apologize saying “you know I love you” this made me emotionally confused. I would often tell my mom about these interactions and she would talk to my dad about the way he’s been treating me. My dad didn’t like this he would come into my room and tell me to stop telling my mom what happens in the house it’s none of her business. I’ve been avoiding them all for 2 weeks now and my dad keeps telling me to stop being a brat if I refuse to respond. So Aita for acting the way I’ve been acting?
