2023.06.02 00:14 galtoramech8699 Anyone had experience with mini pc and Ubuntu
I wanted to get a mini pc and put Ubuntu on it.. Couldn't find much information for a common ubuntu build.
Will do basic browsing, no gaming or anything serious. Just want it to come up without a lot of configurations. Has to last a year or two. E.g. the lenovo reviews say it gets a lot of crashes.
Was thinking these:
Lenovo ThinkCentre M700 Tiny Business Desktop PC, Intel Quad Core i5-6500T up to 3.1GHz, 16G DDR4, 512G SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Windows 10 64-Multi-Language Support English/Spanish/French (Renewed)
Mini PC Windows 11 Pro, KAMRUI AK1 PRO 12GB RAM 256GB SSD Mini Desktop Computer Int.

2023.06.01 23:30 FriendlyStoners Rate system for Dashers
Ok. Rating is optional but if they have whatever reason to decide to rate your driver it's probably for a bad rating, I would love to propose the idea if you received 1-2 star rating from the customer, the customer should get this prompt "Please Explain Why" without having the option to skip it, Example: a team member can review it and verify such and such. Or at least have a way to appeal them if we found these unjust, I've seen and I've gotten unjustified and basically very idiotic reason for 1 stars (what they don't give a f*** for is that this is our job) I've gotten just a handful of reviews, and I'm VERY new here, but I already see this becoming a big problem, I'd love to keep my high priority label on my account, it's impossible when you don't get reviews and even more when people just give you a rating when you (Or the restaurant) did something they thought it was wrong.
For the rest 3, 4 rating idk. Main issue is that 1 and 2 for me

2023.06.01 23:07 KotteGrex Pc freeze after starting "5-10 second"
Hi all. Faced a problem.
Installed the graphic card driver through custom installation. Computer freezes. After that, it began to freeze when turned on, either in the password selection menu or on the working screen.
Removed all drivers, and installed it from zero, tried new and old drivers, tried new and old bios. Took the battery, and reset everything. I set Windows from 0 and tried everything. This is 100% not drivers, not windows, and not bios.
What I managed to find and understand.
- Without a graphic card, everything works and does not freeze.
- When I put Windows on SSD GEN 4 (Samsung 990 pro) (Kingston kc3000 m2nvme gen 4) the computer freezes. I put Windows on a 3rd generation SSD, Samsung MZVLQ1T0HALB-0000. The computer is working. But it freezes on shutdown or reboot. It turns on only through the button on the case.
- The SSD themselves are working, I tried them on a laptop, and everything is perfect. Updated the driver. Did tests.
- I tried to start the computer without the NVIDIA driver, and the computer works and does not freeze, I roll the Nvidia driver, and as soon as Windows sees it, everything immediately freezes to death. That is, any Nvidia driver immediately freezes the computer, no matter if the graphic driver is old or new. And this only happens on SSD 4 generations. On the SSD from the laptop, MZVLQ1t0HALB-0000 everything works.
- The SSD themselves can work on a computer without Windows. As the second SSD.
That is, the motherboard sees SSD, everything works, the speed is ideal, and everything is as it should be. But as soon as I start Windows on them, everything freezes.
Logically, this should be the motherboard, since all the details themselves are working. I did tests of the processor, RAM, graphic card, and SSD, all the details are separately fine.
I also sent my motherboard under warranty, and they told me that everything was working xD. But they did not test the parts like mine, although I sent them all the info, and they said they would use parts like mine. But in fact, when I asked for a photo, they used an AMD processor and a 20-30 generation graphic card with another SSD. It is logical that the power is not the same, and the problem did not get out of them. So what do I need to do to understand exactly what the problem is? :)
Pc parts:
Gigabyte z790 Aorus master
4080 GAMING X TRIO
i7 13700k
G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 6400
Samsung 990 pro 1tb. + 2 tb + Kingston kc3000 m2nvme gen 4

2023.06.01 22:30 Softsender DAT Breakdown
| I just recently took the DAT May 27th, 2023 and I scored a 26 AA. Here are some of my insights. I had 25 days to study, and the only thing I used to study was DAT bootcamp. I dedicated the entire month to the DAT, so I spent anywhere from 7-10 hours each day studying. I stopped when I felt that I wasn’t retaining any information and then I went and did something to take my mind off of the DAT. Study plan: The very first thing I did was take a full length practice test to assess what my strengths and weaknesses were. These are probably the most valuable tool that bootcamp provides. I couldn’t believe just how similar the actual test was to the practice test down to even the format and features of the test. I mainly used the videos and question banks to learn the material, and I would take one or two practice tests each week on days that I did not cover material. One of the most important things is reviewing a test after you retake it. Anytime there was a question I didn’t understand I would watch the explanation on it and that helped me learn to not repeat that mistake again. I started first with RC, QR, and PAT so that I could learn the strategy of those sections and start practicing it each time I took a practice test. This took me about 3 days. Next I moved through Gen Chem and O Chem videos which took around 8 days combined. I saved biology for last so that I could keep the material as fresh as possible before the test. It took me about another 7 days to get through all of the material. I also took two days to review my notes and specific things that I wanted to go over a few days before the test. The day before the test I did not study at all which was very important. I did things that I enjoy to tried and let my brain rest so I could perform to the best of my ability. PAT-23 (bootcamp score: 19-20) Due to my time constraints I barely studied PAT at all. The key to this section is knowing the strategy for answering each type of question, which you learn from the videos, and practice to improve speed. All I used to study for PAT were the videos and practice tests, and with time I improved. The actual DAT PAT section felt much easier to me than bootcamp. QR-21 (bootcamp score: 19-24) The big thing with QR is practice questions. I watched the videos early, but I didn’t do all of the question banks until just a few days before the test. If I could go back I would have done that earlier. The actual DAT QR section felt easier to me than bootcamp, but I scored lower than my highest practice test QR score which was a 24. RC-25 (bootcamp score: 20-23) I am such a slow reader so this section made me pretty nervous. The best thing I did was playing around with different strategies that I learned from the videos to find what worked best for me. There were a lot more fact based questions on the actual RC than comprehension based, so that made it feel easier. Another thing is that the passages were varied in length (11-22 paragraphs) as opposed to bootcamp where I felt that each passage was about the same length (about 15 paragraphs). GC-27 (bootcamp score: 22-24) This section felt more like review for me. Dr. Mikes videos were extremely helpful, and I did each question bank as soon as I finished a module. I felt that the real DAT questions were much simpler than bootcamp questions. OC-27 (bootcamp score: 22-27) This was my strongest section going into the test. Again Dr. Mikes videos were very helpful and I did each question bank as soon as I finished a module. The thing I wish I would have reviewed a little better were the lab techniques as I felt there were less reaction questions on the actual DAT than bootcamp tests, and more lab based and conceptual questions. BIO-30 (bootcamp score: 18-24) This was my worst section when I first started studying. The first time I took a practice test I got a 14. The best thing I did was study this last because this section is mainly memorization, and it is the longest section with the most material. I used a combination of the bio videos, and the bio notes. For modules that I felt pretty comfortable with, I read the bootcamp notes. The actual bio section felt a lot more general than bootcamp questions, which made it feel much easier. Overall: I would recommend doing all 10 full length practice tests to get you used to the real test and to see as many high yield test questions as possible, I only made it through 8. You know how you study better than anyone, cater your plan to how you study. Obviously the more time you have the better, but I think 4-6 weeks is plenty of time to get a great score depending on your schedule. Don’t get too discouraged if you do not see improvement in scores, a few questions can be the difference between an average score and a great score so assess your weaknesses and stick with it! Staying dedicated, keeping the end goal in mind, taking breaks when I needed, and staying optimistic were things that helped me succeed! https://preview.redd.it/mp0kjw02vg3b1.jpg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cff48fee7291795e2e1257a07624e45fca54b12 submitted by Softsender to predental [link] [comments] |

2023.06.01 21:22 Amaryllissa Samsung 980 Pro slow Read/Write
So i got a HP Omen with a Samsung 980 Pro connected to the Gen 4 NVME and a Pyrite Micron SSD connected to the Gen 3 secondary NVME.
I got Windows 11 Pro with Bitlocker Enabled on the Samsung 980.
In Crystaldiskmark the 980 Pro gets pummeled by the cheaper Pyrite SSD in terms of Read/Write even with Bitlocker off.
Got the latest Samsung Firmware, latest of Magician Temps are stable under Load with a peak to 71 degrees sometimes.
Could this be attributed to Samsung not providing a proper Driver for the SSD as they count on yeah old MS Drivers?
Or is this a TLC issue, was hoping to get the speeds that this SSD was designed for.

2023.06.01 19:57 petronilarush Best computer for a recently graduated lawyer
I just graduated from law school and want to buy a new laptop. Mine is a Toshiba Satellite C55-C5241 15.6, but I added 12 GB RAM and a 512 SSD Drive last year. It really worked during my final year, but it is so heavy and it is beginning to break (It has 8 years).
I am looking for a lightweight laptop for less $1000 (Yes, I am broke after student loans), between 13" - 14" with Intel i17 or AMD Ryzen 7, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD Drive, Wifi 6, HDMI port. I have been searching for the right, almost perfect, computer, but I have never seen a review with more than 4.5 stars. It always has a defect like the quality of the screen, the keyboard, the mousepad or the price is more than $1.500.
Currently, I have 2 options:
ASUS - VivoBook Flip 2-in-1 Laptop, 14” FHD Touch Display, AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB DDR4, 1TB SSD - Bespoke Black or
Acer Swift 3 14" Touchscreen Laptop - 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P - 1080p - Windows 11. What is your opinion about these 2 laptops? Do you recommend others? How do you guide when buying a new laptop?

2023.06.01 19:39 opabiniafan How I studied for a 527 in a month
Hi summer MCAT takers! Just submitted primary and have time to burn, so figure I'd throw in my thoughts and hopefully they're useful. One thing that I noticed when I was lurking on this sub for my test date was that in most guides, people study 3+ months for this test. While you obviously should give yourself the optimal amount of time that you can for this all important test, some of us have schedules that make it very hard to devote 3-5 hrs a day for that extended period of time to studying. I don't recommend anyone doing what I did though, which is that I got super manic in November, realized that I did not wanna go into finance, and was like "I need to do something or I'll die". That something happened to be signing up for the 1/19 MCAT, giving me a bit over a month to prepare from the end of my finals (12/12) to the test date. However, I do think shorter test prep timeframes are good if you have problems with motivation/burnout; the fact that the finish line was literally right in front of me at all times was truly terrifying, and this fear got me to run some heinous 10 hour studying sessions. Ultimately, would I have been better prepared if I studied 3+ months? Yes absolutely. But is dragging out your misery for 3+ months worth it for the chance of an extra point or two? Debatable, up to you. Hope my fellow procrastinators or anyone giving themselves <2 months to study, or anyone in general gets something useful out of this! Good luck studying!
Also, disclaimer about my score. I do not claim to be an expert on the MCAT, my last 3 FL's averaged 520, and I definitely got lucky with a big ass curve on my test day - if I took the MCAT 10 times, I doubt I would get a 527 any of those times.
Content Review
Used Kaplan books and finished them in a 10 day span. I think it is worth buying the set in the end, even though there were 2-4 questions that asked things not covered at all in the books on my real exam. However, if you don't wanna buy I think its fine too, the Kaplan books were kind of bad and the practice problems in them were close to worthless. 95% of everything that could be tested will be covered in the Kaplan books, however, the emphasis in the books is on overview rather than details. I think content review is the biggest slog in regards to studying for the MCAT and where its the easiest to burn out, so it'd be best just to grind through the books and fill in knowledge holes as you do practice questions later. What the AAMC says about content breakdown is definitely true, where only 30% of questions relied on prior knowledge and 70% of questions were critical thinking. If you can nail the critical thinking, even without any content, I think a 510+ is very realistic. Spend your time accordingly! Personally, I had no need to spend hours relearning stuff like the Central Dogma or other big concepts, so I do think that a more effective method if you retained most out of undergrad courses is to go skim the books and do daily review on the content outline @ jackwestin while you do practice q's. I would just do content review (in the form of occasional khan academy videos, youtube stuff, and random jack westin articles I chose) as a break every night after my practice questions in the day. Overall, biochemistry is the most important class. You should spend the most time on stuff from biochem, and make sure you know the major concepts and themes AAMC wants you to know. I found it super helpful to write notes on everything I didn't know, from various physics concepts to random facts in a notebook that i'd look over before I slept every night. For cp and bb, it is essential to know anything involving relationships (what happens to resistance if temperature increases? what happens to hemoglobin affinity for oxygen as pH increases?). During content review, a good mindset to have is that the only "high yield" concepts are the amino acids, Le Chatelier's rule, Piaget and Erickson's stages, mitosis/meiosis, separatory techniques, and Michaelis-Menten kinetics. You will for sure get multiple questions about those, but treat any other concept as just yield, there is no such thing as low yield everything is fair game.
Practice Q's
I started after I had already done two full lengths and a diagnostic, and I did all of the official AAMC question packs, and all of the jack westin ones I could fit in. No particular schedule, I would just do as many of these every day until I got sick of it. I found it much more motivating to do questions rather than content review, because the idea of "this is an old test question, if i had gotten this, I would have missed it" was a terrifying thought. I think the most important part of this is to carefully review everything you get wrong. I also had a notebook specifically dedicated to questions that I got wrong, where I'd write the info that I had missed or write down why my line of thinking was wrong. Also, I would comb reddit during my breaks to try to find little facts that I didn't know (110 daltons per amino acid, fetal circulatory shunts), and add them to my memorization book. Using the JackWestin chrome extension really helps for detailed explanations of questions, because the AAMC ones are kinda shit sometimes. The JW extension especially helps for CARS sections, and I credit my score there to the extension. All in all, I think that my success on the actual test was largely due to the practice questions I did. I tried to find a good heuristic to use to evaluate what the AAMC's correct answer would be to the question based off of patterns in the passage and answer choices. As a reminder, the test really is 30% memorization 70% critical thinking. Now it might not be smart to spend 70% of your prep period grinding practice problems, but at least a representative amount of time should be allocated to practicing the critical thinking that the AAMC wants.
Practice Exams
I did one a week until the last 2 weeks, where I did 4 in that span. I took 7 total, one diagnostic and the 6 AAMC ones. My scores were 503, 516, 518, 524, 521, 519, 521. I'd use a third party test as your diagnostic, to figure out where you need work, but do know that all of the 3rd party ones are 1. not too accurate to real test 2. very deflated to encourage you to buy their product. Just use me as an anecdote; I got a 503 on the Kaplan and then a 516 on my first AAMC full length and I had only done 3 days of content review between those two. Do take a diagnostic ASAP though, it helps you see what you're working towards and serves as a great motivator. I got my 503 and sat in disbelief before working nonstop until my next practice test. Use the diagnostic to figure out which areas in content you are the most lacking, and whether these gaps are a result of you missing the small memorization details or a lack of understanding of the broader themes (of genetics, respiration, etc). If you have more time than me, there are many more 3rd party ones to do if you feel like it, but do treat the AAMC full lengths like gold, as they are the most representative of how you'll do on the real thing. From my own judgement, save full length 5 (the new in 2022 one) for last, as it was very close to my real one, a sentiment shared by people on reddit. Try as much as possible to stimulate real test conditions: wake up at 6, start at 8, go on low sleep conditions, try to get your stress levels up, adhere to timing, drink and pee only during breaks. This is something I didn't do and thus was very unprepared for how stressed I was during real thing (the thought that "wow if I fuck this up I'm done for" is super serious). Something that I think would have also helped me test day is if I set strict guidelines for time spent on questions. I would just take as long as I wanted and generally blow through them as they felt low stakes, whereas on test day, I would stare for minutes at questions I knew were correct because I was super nervous that I was dumb and overlooked something.
Test day:
Took adderall for the test, something I do not recommend. I had done so for two practice tests and did fine, but also I was much more stressed. The adderall combined with my stress threw all my test taking skills went out the window and I was super pressed for time on the exam. Bring easy snacks and energy bars. The exact thought I was having was: "If I get this question wrong my entire college career will have been for nothing". Scary. Take the practice tests with this mindset and you'll be more prepared than me. I got there 40 minutes early to take a dump because I always need to mad shit when I'm nervous, but as long as you're there before 8 you're fine. Overall, a lot more critical thinking and reading the passage than I thought, so definitely do take the day before completely off. C/p was probably 40% gen chem topics 30 % biochem 25 % physics 5% orgo. Practice your mental math and find a method that works for you; I saw myself getting an answer that wasn't a choice and realized an error in my setups. There were 4-6 questions in C/P that was just straight mental math. Like no conceptual setup at all just what is x divided by y (which you could figure out by looking at units). CARS felt like normal difficulty, I usually did well on CARS; eliminate all wrong answers and then find something in the passage that explicitly confirms your answer choice type strategy is what I used. Find whatever works for you during the AAMC question packs. B/B exactly what I was expecting, similar to all practice tests. Got the three "fuck you" discretes here, know for sure I got two wrong but I still got a 132 on the section. Just another anecdote about how spending your time pulling your hair out over the small details isn't gonna yield a good ROI. I think something that helped a lot for me here is the amount of scientific literature I've had to read for my work in research labs, so the comprehension part/figuring out the relationships between the vocab they throw at you came relatively easily. P/s had no concepts out of the blue, and about 80 % of it could have been solved without any knowledge of the subjects; they were all critical thinking and reasoning within passages. Of course again, there were some wack ones but I feel like 1. hitting them with the process of elimination 2. doing flashcards would easily take care of any issues on the content side of things. Also the question style was very similar to full lengths, almost identical in style to full length 5.
Things I think worked well for me:
The very short amount of time I had to review enabled me to stay motivated, because I could literally see the end at all times. Burnout is a real problem for a singular test, and I think I did well keeping motivated from a combination of doing problems (getting things wrong spurred me to study more) and seeing friends at night after studying. Take care of yourself, seeing friends/going on dates/playing sports/whatever you enjoy and takes your mind off your impending doom is absolutely necessary. You physically cannot study effectively for days on end with no break, and if your break involves stressing about the MCAT, it's not a break. You're just killing your hairline. I think the memorization sheet I had of everything that I got wrong in addition to concepts I felt were weak/didn't know at all when I was reviewing, that I studied every night, also netted me at least 5 points. I think that grinding reddit helped me pick up a lot of really small facts that I otherwise would've glossed over, and 5-8 things that I saw in "Content dump" posts actually came up in my real test. Finally, I think that test taking skills (finessing skills) that I had tuned throughout my life were really important. Process of elimination is the way to go, at least 2 choices will be obviously wrong, and getting a feel for the AAMC logic through practicing their material can get u to the right answer in 75% of cases where you don't know it immediately. To beat the horse dead, the MCAT really is 70% critical thinking 30% content, and you do want to practice your test taking accordingly with those weights somewhat in mind.
Things I wished I did differently during review:
DON'T DRINK DURING YOUR REVIEW PERIOD. I went out with friends for the first two weekends because finals were over, and ended up blacking one night and getting stupid the others. This definitely set me a few days back - I could not do any work hungover and those nights I didn't sleep at my own place, so by the time I left, it was like 2pm. Definitely felt harried during review, mostly as a result of the short time period but also a result of the many rest days I took/burnout. While I think taking breaks is very important, I think I went about it poorly (I did not plan out study period at all going in, something that I wish I did) and as a result I realized leading up to the exam that I did not know certain things very well and so the last 5 days were a grind (I didn't go outside in the last 3 days at all because I realized I didn't understand electricity or lenses. neither of these topics were in my full length lol). In addition, I wish I did more jack westin problems, as their explanations are quite good in helping me figure out the way the AAMC words the correct answer. I discovered them with 2 weeks left, but I wish I had done so earlier. I do think that anki decks (I used miledown's deck, findable online) are also great for learning small facts, but again, I didn't have the motivation to do them every day.

2023.06.01 19:36 Country-Strong994 6 months with the IS500
I just hit the 6 month mark of owning
my IS500. Figured I would hit some talking points of what I love, what I like, and some other general things.
What I love:
-
The Engine: Oh man, this thing is a treat. This thing is a pleasure to get the pedal hitting the floor. With a redline at 7,200 and extra induction noise kicking in around 3,000, it is addicting to wind this thing out. Brings a smile to my face every single time.
-
Cruising: When it comes to cruising around on my work commute or longer drives, this turns into a comfy cruiser. The ride isn't harsh over some rough roads, it eats up miles on the highway and returns solid MPGs (total average is low 20's with alternating driving like a gorilla and general cruising). Can fit 4 adults comfortably, including an adult behind my driving position (6' driver). The driving assists are also extremely useful on those long drives.
What I like:
-
Interior: Some people will criticize Lexus for their "out of date" interiors, but I'm not one. The IS500 is still mostly analog with tons of physical touch points, a touch screen when you need it, and Android Auto has been working great. The minimal piano black still is annoying, but it's not enough to drive you insane. My biggest gripe is the lack of proper storage for large water bottles. The doors can handle a 20 oz bottle max, but it doesn't like it if it's solid. Larger bottles won't have a home here.
-
Exhaust note: Obviously, I don't experience the exhaust note too much, since I am usually the one driving. The IS500 is all about the induction noises anyways. However, the exhaust notes sounds good, but not great. Lexus went mild on this exhaust compared to the LC500. Will likely go with a valved exhaust down the road, but this exhaust has enough character to get by.
General things:
-
The Transmission: If you have driven or watched reviews of this car, the transmission ALWAYS comes up. Coming from a Scat Pack with a ZF8, the transmission gets far too much hate. I have spent time in all the driving modes, as well as using the manual mode, and while there are some minor gripes (the shift from 3rd to 2nd is the most talked about issue amongst owners), it's livable. I would say for the type of driving this car will be used for (mostly spirited and cruising), it's just fine. I don't blame Lexus for not going all out on the transmission of a limited run car, especially one that isn't marketed as a full F car.
-
Dealership experiences: While the dealers haven't been the worst I've dealt with during my years car shopping (Looking at you, Hyundai), they really haven't been a luxury experience. Finding this car at MSRP took over a year. I had an issue with my selling dealer's service department (they ripped out the hardwiring for my dashcam "accidentally" and tried to gaslight me). The second dealership was a much better experience.
Overall, I absolutely love my decision to go with this car. I honestly never considered Lexus until they announced this car that tickled my muscle car fancy. I'm an engineer, so the appeal of getting the "muscle car" experience with the history of reliability, it ended up being a slam dunk. Look forward to many more years of grunting like a caveman as I slam down the go pedal.

2023.06.01 18:54 mirko8054 Having stutters? Rough 1% lows? Try this (Nvidia)
Greetings citizens
Some of you might remember my name, tons of you wont, I am the original author of the guide on how to set the CPU priority to High after Star Citizen adopted the Easy Anti Cheat, which then eventually, was also taken by CIG on their website.
Here I am with another, super simple, but powerful tweak guide on how you could (I am using "could" because its been reported some people are not getting benefits) improve your performances a little bit, but mostly, help the system to reduce stutters, resulting in a slight bump in the 1% low fps. This tweak will be more effective for people with fairly low VRAM, <6GB, also. This guide will only work for Nvidia, as I own a GTX 1080, and i have never had an AMD RDNA GPU so i dont have the same level of knowledge i have of Nvidia for Amd , but if you have an Amd gpu, you might search for the same keywords used in this guide, on your Adrenaline drivers.
The steps are very simple:
1) Open up your Nvidia control panel by right clicking the desktop point blank:
https://i.imgur.com/sDnm2Xu.png 2) Under 3D Settings, click Manage 3D Settings:
https://i.imgur.com/b9wFvHT.png 3) On GLOBAL settings:
https://i.imgur.com/ZaDg7kt.png scroll the list until you find the setting named "Shader cache size":
https://i.imgur.com/eE5C8fw.png and set the size of 10GB.
4) You can now click apply, and we are done.
A couple of extra words, we just told the nvidia drivers to use 10gb extra (the driver has its own shader cache pool, but its fairly small) of our drive to cache shaders built from ANY game, not just Star Citizen, its worth to notice that this extra pool its gonna be located in your OS C:\ drive, and with no other words, the faster is your C drive, the better it is. I am sure everyone of you is running SSD nowdays, especially Gen 3+ Nvme drives where your OS is installed, but it was worth to notice and let you know.
At the moment i dont have enough informations about AMD adrenaline software regards the gpu shader cache, but when I will have some and find a similar solution as Nvidia has, i will update the guide.

2023.06.01 17:23 seaturtle8476 Guide to a 524 from an overstudier
Hello Mcat-ter's! I wanted to give my guide to how I got a 524 (132/130/131/131) last year (august 2022). I improved from my diagnostic which was a 497. This sub has been super helpful to me, and instead of writing secondaries I'm procrastinating by writing this post. So, lets get into it!
0) A bit about me. I'm a mostly traditional applicant (taking a one year research year (like 95% of applicants these days)). I took the test between junior and senior year over the summer. I go to a t20 school where I got pretty good grades (~3.9 gpa). Majored in humanities (not bio) so was a little weaker on the science parts, but really good at reading. Have always been a good test taker (34 I think on the ACT, 5's on all the AP's I studied for et.c.). Tutored students in chem. Tutored my siblings in like every science subject / math. I also REALLY knew my amino acids.
1) Disclaimers First, I want to start of saying that this technique may not work for everyone. I put in a lot of time into studying, which may not be feasible for non-trads, those who have to work full time, those with families, et.c. Second, as you will see, I bought a lot of resources (like a lot). This was NOT cheap. Fortunately I saved up a lot of money before / during college and had my parents to help me out. Third, I was really determined to get an 99th+ percentile score. While a 520+ score is not going to hurt anyone, the amount of time / energy it takes may not be worth it for your application (another 200-300 clinical hours or volunteer hours may be better for your application)
2) Non-Study Stuff that Set me Up for Success My total study time was ~8 months. I studied part time during the spring semester, and then basically full time during the summer. I had a three day a week research internship (~20 hours per week). I basically studied 40-50 hours a week when I was studying full time. I deleted all social media. Blocked it on my phone (i think my total phone use per day went down to <2 hours a day (and that included using it for GPS to get places)). While this is probably not possible for most applicants, my internship was in a new city I had never been to / lived in. I therefore only knew like 2 people there (one of whom was my roommate). This meant I had to say no to basically no social engagements because, well, I didn't really have any friends there. While this was definitely super lonely at times, this also meant I wasn't getting pulled to go out and party (I'm usually pretty extraverted, so saying no to social events is hard for me). Obviously, moving to a new city is probably not in the cards for most people, but it was probably cheaper in the end than staying in my college town (where rent is not only higher, but the cost of going out / hanging out with friends).
3) The Resources As I said above, I used a F*** ton of resources:
- Princeton Review 513+ Guarantee Course (ok, I know people are probably going to think I'm a troll for this, but I really found it helpful (for the most part). Personally, I found their cars strategy to be super helpful (again I know people are going to think I am a troll, I promise I'm not). I also found their science videos / the biology classes to be super helpful (I knew actually 0 anatomy before studying). Our physics instructor was great, the psychology one was kinda meh. This class included all of the princeton review text books + online quizzes + vides + all the AAMC resources+ a couple other things I'm probably forgetting. If I had to do it again, I would probably have done a slightly slower paced class ( I did the five day a week, 3 hour a day class (probably would have done 4 days a week)). I also would NOT have gotten the 513 guarantee .
- Princeton Review Science Workbook (This was also from Princeton Review course). This was probably in the top 2 most helpful resources (besides AAMC). This book is probably 1000 pages of pure practice passages. I legitamately did every single bio / biochem passage and I credit it for 5 points on my MCAT. If you can only get one resource (besides AAMC) this is what I would get.
- Kaplan Review Books. Pretty Self Explanatory. I would rotate between reading these and the Princeton. These are less dense than the princeton ones and are pretty good if you already have a strong foundation. These also came with a qbank and some practice tests which I found super helpful.
- Kaplan quick sheets. This was included in the Kaplan Review Books, but also deserves its own line. This does a great job of summarizing all the major topics. In all honesty, if you are good at test taking and have this thing memorized fully, I truly think you can get minimum 508 on the test
- Blueprint full lengths + qbank. I found this one super helpful. I probably wouldn't have bought 10 tests in retrospect (they were having a sale), but I found that you could do sections of the tests to be super helpful for practicing sections of the test I was weaker at.
- Blueprint half-length diagnostic. It's Free! and a great place to see what your baseline is (don't waste an AAMC test on that)
- Berkeley Review (I got these for free from a friend). I found their cars practice to be super helpful. Their explanations are super in-depth which are really good if you are not getting a topic. I found their physics questions to be super good practice. I leafed through the biochem book a couple times, but otherwise didn't use them too much (mostly because I had so many other resources).
- Khan Academy. These have good videos for when you are not understanding something. The practice questions / passages are also pretty good.
- JackWestin Cars Pretty good to get a hang of timing, but the logic is not super reminiscent of AAMC. I did them for the first couple months of part time studying, but stopped for the most part once I got to full time studying
- AAMC content outline and Jack Westin Content Outline. Probably most underratted resource. The content outline gives you everything that could be on the test. You should at least look at it. Jack Westin has filled the entire thing out for you. It is SOOOOOOO clutch (literally this made up the other 50% of my success on B/B.
- Anki / Flashcards. I used milesdown. Thought it was good overall (didn't get through all the cards). Milesdown also has a review sheet that is REALLY good. 100% recommend. I also used an amino acid deck to really drill them (this I finished, and probably reviewed all the cards 5-10x). I also did a physics / chem equations flashcard deck.
- 100 page psych doc. I thought this was good overall. 300 felt too long / too detailed for me
- AAMC resources. All of them (except for ¾ sections of the sample, but that was because I was too tired, and found resting to be more important for my success). I also reviewed every answer.
What I didn't use:
Given the gigantic list of resources, you all are going to laugh, but probably the
only thing I didn't use was UGLOBE, lol. Mostly, its because I ran out of time + I felt really good about my level of prep. A lot of people like UGLOBE but it wasn't for me. YMMV and it probably is a good resource, I just didn't use it.
Study Methods: I studied about 700 hours total (a lot, I know).
about 1 year before start of studying I took the Blueprint half-length. I got a 497 on this (125/126/121/125). I hadn't taken all the pre-reqs yet so I was pretty content with this score (ngl), but I def needed more content review.
Start of Part Time Studying:
I started part time studying over winter break. I started with a diagnostic test (Kaplan). I got a 506 on this (127/127/125/127). From there I started by reviewing the Kaplan books (reading them through and writing notes). I would take the end of chapter quizzes. I would make a flashcard for any question I got wrong. I also did the Kaplan science assessment which gave me a better idea of my areas of weakness in the sciences (my scores were between 8/30 for biochem and 25/30 for psych). I also did daily jack westin CARS.
When I went back to school, the pace of studying definitely slowed. I studied less. I took another kaplan FL in feburary and got EXACTLY the same score again, which was disheartening. I pretty much took all of march / half of april off, and then restarted studying end of april. I then restarted studying in april, still part time. During this time, I continued reading kaplan, doing Khan academy practice questions, and anki.
Full time studying:
I started full time studying May 1. On average I studied 5hours a day on the days I had work, 8 hours a day on the days I didn't, took a practice test on Saturdays (reviewed half of it that evening (I really think you should review cars right after you take it, otherwise you loose understanding of the reasoning you thought). I would usually review the second half of the exam the following day, and only study 3-4 hours on Sunday.
This was a very succesful strategy for me. The PR class has you take an AAMC practice test as your baseline and I scored a 513 on this (130/129/127/127) which obviously I was stoked about and gave me a ton of confidence.
When my princeton review class started, I did the 3 hour class, the majority of the reading, and about 50% of the suggested practice. Occasionally, during parts of the class I really understood (like gen chem), I would practice other sections. During this time, I took a full length every week, did flash cards, read berkely review for the stuff I didn't understand, did KA practice questions, did the Kaplan / Blueprint Q-Banks. I did this for about six weeks.
For the last 6 weeks of studying, I finished up the PR class, and started AAMC. The other important things I did (which are kinda unique?) which I truly think helped me succeed are 1) I wrote out every single word of the Kaplan quick sheets by hand, 2) I wrote out every single word of the Miles Down quick sheets by hand, 3) I looked up the weirdest mnemonics for everything and texted them to my long distance SO / told them over facetime; Laughing over them and sharing them really made them stick 4) I read every single word of the JW content outline aloud. My roommates definitely thought I was crazy ( I definitely sounded it) but this definitely helped like 1000%. Legitimately, the bio question I am 100% sure I got wrong (and likely the reason I got a 131 and not a 132) was from the one sub-sub-sub section that I said screw it, this isn't going to be on the test.
I continued doing a practice test each week. I reviewed all of the AAMC materials.
For the week before the test I took things pretty easy, I reviewed everything super leisurely. Bio was still what I was struggling with so the only thing I did practice test wise was take the Sample Bio (which I got a 58/59 on so a 132). I didn't do the rest of the sample because I was feeling kinda burnt out.
A note about full lengths: I took full lengths almost exactly in testing conditions: no referencing notes, wearing the same outfit (down to the socks), eating the same meal, same time of day, same weird whiteboard thing, wore a mask (you had to when I took it, not sure if its still the same) et.c. However, I did practice with certain (distractions). I tried to mimic, what happens if I had five minutes fewer due to a malfunction, what if my pen doesn't work, what if a loud alarm goes off, et.c. This allowed me to prepare incase anything went wrong.

Test Day The day before test day I slept in a motel
Literally in the same strip mall as the testing center. I went there the day before to ensure that I knew where it was and to ask them a couple of questions. While you only need one form of photo ID I made sure I had two just in case. I woke up early, did a couple jumping jacks, chugged an iced coffee (big mistake, I had to pee SOOOOOO badly during C/P (but maybe thats the reason for the 132, who knows)). Got to the testing center early (was the first one). I had pretty good timing for the test (except cars, had only like 4 minutes for the last passage). I finished P/S 40 minutes early, because I was tired and just done. However, I thought I FAILED when I came out of the testing center. No lie, I almost voided (THANK GOD I DIDN'T). I went back to my hotel, cried my eyes out, and went home.
Score result day: Again, I thought I failed, I was very pleasantly surprised when I got my score back ( I also cried). Was super happy to NEVER have to take this stupid test again.
whew! That was long. Super happy to answer questions you all might have on my (insane, ngl) study schedule.
Wishing everyone 528's

2023.06.01 16:06 Then_Marionberry_259 JUN 01, 2023 ABRA.V ABRASILVER REPORTS POSITIVE METALLURGICAL TEST RESULTS FOR JAC ZONE WITH UP TO 93% SILVER RECOVERIES & 91% GOLD RECOVERIES
| https://preview.redd.it/1asb17tlye3b1.png?width=3500&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5e767b6f1a867be0ca5dbc5e9f388b294800a0d (TheNewswire) https://preview.redd.it/6afwxvvlye3b1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab9327bf0ca7c12bfb1c82c572bd20f8c868de4a Toronto, ON TheNewswire - June 1, 2023 - AbraSilver Resource Corp. (TSX.V:ABRA ) ( OTC:ABBRF) (“AbraSilver” or the “Company”) is pleased to report positive preliminary metallurgical test results for the new JAC zone at its wholly-owned Diablillos property in Salta Province, Argentina (“Diablillos” or the “Project”). The program was completed by independent metallurgical consultants, SGS Canada Inc., at their testing facilities in Lakefield, Ontario.
Key Highlights Include: - Overall recoveries at the JAC and Fantasma deposits range between 86% - 93% for silver and 82% - 91% for gold.
- A substantial percentage of the silver at JAC can be recovered by gravity separation which increases overall recoveries.
- Current testwork confirms that the same process flowsheet can be used to process mineralization from the Oculto, JAC and Fantasma deposits.
- Milling tests have shown that 150 microns is the targeted grind size for the leaching of the mineralized material at a retention time of 36 hours.
- Overall silver and gold recoveries could likely be increased further by grinding finer and with higher cyanide concentrations. Further metallurgical testwork and trade-off studies are now underway.
John Miniotis, President and CEO, commented, “We are extremely pleased that the metallurgical testwork results at JAC demonstrate excellent recovery rates for both silver and gold. These results show that mineralization at JAC responds very well to conventional processing and recovery technologies, providing highly positive implications for the future development potential of the project. The results will be incorporated into our Mineral Resource estimate and Pre-Feasibility Study which remain on track to be delivered later this year.” Favorable Recovery Rates vs. Prior Testwork At the JAC and Fantasma deposits the silver minerals (chlorargyrite and iodargyrite) are easier to release by grinding, and are more sensitive to cyanide leaching as they occur in argillic alteration , whereas at Oculto they are mostly held more complexly in vuggy silica host rock. Table 1 - Summary of Metallurgical Testwork Results for JAC and Fantasma Deposits Processing img z0i7lpwlye3b1... Click Image To View Full Size Testwork on JAC and Fantasma samples showed that gravity separation before cyanide leaching recovers approximately 9% of the silver and 17% of the gold which, when combined with the subsequent cyanide leaching recoveries, results in total overall recoveries of between 86% and 93% for silver and between 82% and 91% for gold. Table 2 below shows gravity plus cyanide leach recoveries at the JAC and Fantasma deposits compared with the Oculto deposit recoveries announced in the PEA announced in January 2022. Table 2 – Latest Metallurgical Testwork Results vs. Jan. 2022 PEA Study Processing img 8ymvqiylye3b1... Click Image To View Full Size 1 Recovery rates for Oculto PEA reflect the life of mine average as per the report published on Jan. 13, 2022 titled “NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment Technical Report – Diablillos Project” A median of 89.5% recoveries for silver and 86.5% for gold at JAC and Fantasma compare favourably against the 73.5% silver recoveries and 86.0% gold recoveries used for the Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) at Oculto. The median silver recovery of 89.5% relative to 73.5% for Oculto is particularly relevant because the mineralization at the JAC and Fantasma deposits is predominantly silver. Figure 1 – Median Recoveries at the JAC & Fantasma Deposits Compared with the Oculto Deposit https://preview.redd.it/y433zczlye3b1.png?width=608&format=png&auto=webp&s=77c219ad858889d07a676f838ff176ad495f2643 JAC drill core samples for metallurgical testing were selected to be volumetrically representative of the mineralised system, being from the various zones of mineralisation along strike and at depth, including high, medium and lower grades. Care was taken not to mix alteration zones so that geo-metallurgical domains can be determined. Additional metallurgical testing is being conducted on samples from different geo-metallurgical domains at Oculto in an effort to boost overall recoveries, especially from areas with high silver grades. Metallurgical Test Program Overview This campaign was the first metallurgical testwork program conducted on the new JAC zone, discovered in August 2022, and on the already known Fantasma deposit. W ork completed involved comminution, gravity, leaching and thickening testwork of fourteen variability composites with twelve from the JAC zone and two from the Fantasma zone. The results will be incorporated in the upcoming Mineral Resource estimate (“MRE”) update and Pre-Feasibility Study (“PFS”) for the overall Diablillos project. The results confirm that the Diablillos project will have a conventional silvegold processing plant flowsheet incorporating crushing, grinding, gravity concentration and intense cyanidation circuit, cyanide leaching with oxygen addition, counter current decantation (“CCD”) washing thickeners and Merrill-Crowe precious metal recovery from solution followed by on-site smelting to doré bars. A summary of the processing flow sheet for the Diablillos project is shown below. Figure 2 – Simplified Process Flowsheet for the Diablillos Project https://preview.redd.it/nwvyke0mye3b1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=1bc78e911e461bafcc66218848e196922d8242d9 - Bulk mineralogical investigation determined that quartz, alunite, and iron-oxides were the major mineral components of the samples, and it is demonstrated that most of the silver will respond well to direct cyanidation. The JAC composite was used for most of the testing program, with average head grades of 0.11 g/t gold and 148 g/t silver.
- Response to standard gravity separation tests for the recovery of free silver and gold resulted in average recoveries of 9% and 17%, respectively. As a result, the overall gravity plus cyanidation recoveries achieved were 86% to 93% for silver and 82% to 91% for gold
- The following optimum whole ore cyanidation conditions were established for the JAC composite and applied to the variability samples:
• Grind size P80 of 150 μm, • 45% pulp density (w/w), • pH of 10.5-11.0 (maintained with lime), • 4 hours of pre-aeration with air sparging, • air-sparging during leaching, • Sodium cyanide (NaCN) concentration of 1.5 g/l maintained for the first 12 hours of leaching and then allowed to naturally decay for the remaining leach time. - The testwork showed that silver and gold recoveries could likely be further increased by grinding finer (P80 of 70 μm versus 150 μm) and by increasing cyanide consumption from 1.5 g/l to 2.5 g/l. Further metallurgical testwork and trade-off studies will be conducted to confirm the optimum process route.
- Environmental assessment of the leach tailings samples showed the potential for acid generation in some samples. On-site humid cell testwork is planned and mitigating measures will be designed as part of the tailings management strategy.
- Settling/thickening and rheology tests were performed on the JAC composite cyanide leach and cyanide destruction residue, showing a fast-settling rate in response to tested flocculants. Counter Current Decantation (CCD) modelling was performed as well, resulting in a 4 stages CCD circuit producing a final wash efficiency of 99.8%
Future Work Programs - Cyanide leach tests will continue on the samples from Oculto, JAC and Fantasma to optimize recovery and leach time. Drivers to improve recoveries will include stronger cyanide solutions, grind size of the ore, and leaching residence times.
- As gravity separation was successful in concentrating gold and silver at the JAC deposit, it is proposed that additional testing of gravity separation in advance of cyanidation be carried out on mineralisation types at Oculto, where there are both gold and silver dominant geo-metallurgical zones.
- At the Diablillos site, humid cell test work is ongoing to evaluate acid rock drainage generation from the cyanidation tailings under site conditions to support potential mitigating measures in the tailings management strategy.
- Heap leaching test work will be conducted to investigate the possibility of recovering lower grade material.
About Diablillos The 80 km 2 Diablillos property is located in the Argentine Puna region - the southern extension of the Altiplano of southern Peru, Bolivia, and northern Chile - and was acquired from SSR Mining Inc. by the Company in 2016. There are several known mineral zones on the Diablillos property, with the Oculto zone being the most advanced with over 120,000 metres drilled to date. Oculto is a high-sulphidation epithermal silver-gold deposit derived from remnant hot springs activity following Tertiarty-age local magmatic and volcanic activity. Comparatively nearby examples of high sulphidation epithermal deposits include: Yanacocha (Peru); El Indio (Chile); Lagunas Nortes/Alto Chicama (Peru) Veladero (Argentina); and Filo del Sol (Argentina). The most recent Mineral Resource estimate for the Oculto Deposit is shown in Table 3: Table 3 - Oculto Mineral Resource Estimate – As of October 31, 2022 Processing img 55hvtb1mye3b1... Click Image To View Full Size Notes: Effective October 31, 2022. Mineral Resources are not Mineral Reserves and have not demonstrated economic viability. The Mineral Resource estimate is N.I. 43-101 compliant and was prepared by Luis Rodrigo Peralta, B.Sc., FAusIMM CP(Geo), Independent Consultant. The mineralization estimated in the Mineral Resource is sub-horizontal with sub-vertical feeders and a reasonable prospect for eventual economic extraction by open pit methods. For additional information please see Technical Report on the Diablillos Project, Salta Province, Argentina, dated November 28, 2022, completed by Mining Plus, and available on www.SEDAR.com. QA/QC and Core Sampling Protocols AbraSilver applies industry standard exploration methodologies and techniques, and all drill core samples are collected under the supervision of the Company’s geologists in accordance with industry practices. Drill core is transported from the drill platform to the logging facility where drill data is compared and verified with the core in the trays. Thereafter, it is logged, photographed, and split by diamond saw prior to being sampled. Samples are then bagged, and quality control materials are inserted at regular intervals; these include blanks and certified reference materials as well as duplicate core samples which are collected in order to measure sample representivity. Groups of samples are then placed in large bags which are sealed with numbered tags in order to maintain a chain-of-custody during the transport of the samples from the project site to the laboratory. All samples are received by the SGS offices in Salta who then dispatch the samples to the SGS preparation facility in San Juan. From there, the prepared samples are sent to the SGS laboratory in Lima, Peru where they are analyzed. All samples are analyzed using a multi-element technique consisting of a four-acid digestion followed by ICP/AES detection, and gold is analyzed by 30g Fire Assay with an AAS finish. Silver results greater than 100g/t are reanalyzed using four acid digestion with an ore grade AAS finish. Analytical results are statistically processed for final acceptance. Qualified Persons David O’Connor P.Geo., Chief Geologist for AbraSilver, is the Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, and he has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this news release. About AbraSilver AbraSilver is an advanced-stage exploration company focused on rapidly advancing its 100%-owned Diablillos silver-gold project in the mining-friendly Salta province of Argentina. 2023.06.01 15:31 whitespadex How To Scale High Ticket Offers & Become Rich Like Your Famous Gurus (Facebook Ads)
This post is 4500+ words long BUT I promise you, you will learn
MORE than any $10,000 high ticket coaching program…
There’s no TL;DR because I only write for a serious audience that likes to read.
I will teach you
everything about High-Ticket today so you can make a lot of money with certainty… everything bout using Facebook Ads… everything about high ticket marketing.
I’m currently spending
$500,000-$550,000 a week (with a 3.4x cash ROAS) on Facebook Ads across multiple accounts, so I’m certainly qualified to talk on this subject.
You will never find me on YouTube or TikTok.. but you will certainly find the Gurus.
You’ve seen them everywhere… the GURUs!
Youtube, TikTok, Facebook Groups and Twitter - The courses, the masterminds, the telegram groups, the programs…
From the early 2014 Sam Ovens days, to the Dan Loks, to the Gadhzis, Traffic & Funnels (who ACTUALLY had great products), to Cole Gordon (also has good products)… and modern day 20-something Money Twitter chads… this space is not stopping anytime soon.
This space has been prevalent
way before Facebook & YouTube Ads were even a thing…
The REAL Goats like Kevin Nations, Tony Robbins, Jay Abraham… ALL sold BIG TICKET when a dollar was worth a LOT more than the dollar is worth today…
Today you’re seeing the
mind boggling figures, the sports cars, the luxury vacations, you’re following Tate… and you want what they have, so you buy the courses and the programs in the hope to get that…
But you won’t get it - unless you understand the GAME. And the name of the game is PSYCHOLOGY.
Human psychology. And in this post I will unravel the mystery behind
HOW these Guru’s scale “to-the-moon”…
I will unravel what they know
(and you don’t)… so you keep buying
(or illegally download) their programs in the hope to get the payoff - which is the money!
And even if you don’t buy their programs, and say, you just rip them off of some site…
you’re STILL under their influence. You STILL think the thoughts that they want you to think. And therefore you
cannot solely make decisions based on real wisdom that is yours.
It is cult-like behavior where the Guru leads, and the followers look up to him. The followers then force themselves to think and behave like the Guru they look up to…
It’s sad, because in the process you give your individual thinking power away.
In this post I want to give you the
tools, the ammunition and the frame -
to think for yourself… … to understand how marketing works, to understand
why some businesses make millions while the majority just can’t even get their business off the ground…
And more importantly, I want to give you the power to use these tools to
make a lot of money for yourself WITHOUT supplicating to a guru.
Does that mean you should NOT buy programs?
No I don’t mean that. I have personally paid for (and will continue to pay for) expensive masterminds and coaching programs… BUT the difference is…
I don’t BLINDLY follow anyone. I am able to take the BEST parts from everyone I have learned from, and modify it to create my methods that suits my businesses the best.
And I want the same for you.
THE FUNDAMENTALS BEFORE MEDIA BUYING
A lot of you just jump straight to launching ads WITHOUT understanding the fundamentals.
And I don’t mean just the Ad network fundamentals… but literally marketing fundamentals that attract your ideal customers.
I’ll keep it simple.
The High-Ticket sales process looks like this: Audience -> Copy -> OffeFunnel -> Ads -> Lead Gen -> Sales 101 + Nurturing -> Application -> Sales Call -> Close The problem is - none of you look at the entire chain above. Everyone’s just shooting for “Leads”
In fact, the term “lead gen” is so bastardized today that a “Lead” itself has no value - because it has no foundation.
In another post I wrote about how YOU have to define what a Lead means to YOU.
So if you’re just going to shoot for leads, what does that really mean? - Is it an opt-in? - a registration? - An application? - a sales meeting booked? - a sales meeting show up?
You can’t know how to work the economics in your favor, if you don’t look at the big picture…
You need to
OPTIMIZE everything on a straight line and hand hold a
“Top-of-funnel-prospect” into becoming a
“Bottom-of-funnel-client” Hand holding is key.
At any step in the funnel BEFORE the sale if you leave their hand,
you will LOSE them. Your prospects are like your kids. You need to hold their hand until they are confident they can find their own way…
Similarly, you need to hold your prospects hand, and not leave it, until they can confidently make a decision to work with you.
Btw this works for high-ticket & low-ticket both…
we’re however only addressing high-ticket fundamentals in this post.
SO WHAT DOES HAND HOLDING MEAN? IT MEANS "CHAIN-LINKING"
The process of taking your prospects from first seeing your Ad -> appealing to their core desires -> modifying their intent & motivation -> nurturing them on the back with emails & sms -> qualifying them via the application process -> making the sales touch points -> closing the deal… … all of this has to be done using
“Chain-linking” If even one link in this entire chain breaks, your ENTIRE sales process will fall FLAT.
And you won’t even know who or what to blame. - Should you blame the ads? - Should you blame the copy? - The funnel architecture? - The sales person? You can’t even isolate - and you’ll just turn off the entire campaign… and eventually, your business.
THE GURUS’ SECRET
Pay attention!
All gurus are
MASTERS of “chain-linking” All gurus appeal to your inner-most, CORE desires,
lure you in by targeting your PAIN points, then
modify your intentions, motivations and your thought processes… … eventually you’re at the other end of the chain, either
reading a sales letter, or
watching a webinar, or a
VSL… and ultimately
buying their courses and programs.
The chain starts from a
TOF (top of funnel) video ad, or tweet/thread, or YouTube/TikTok video saying certain things that
grabs your attention… and triggers your emotions…. … That links into multiple other videos that
“arouse desire” and give you the impression that you’re learning something that will help you achieve your desire…
… but in reality the only thing you’re learning, is to “trust the guru”… and by virtue of that trust you must believe everything they say is true…
… when the Guru has established THAT level of trust, where you believe everything they say is true, you are in what is a called, a
“SOLD STATE”. Chain-Linking is ALL about moving prospects from “attention state” to “sold state”
The reason WHY Gurus are able to sell High-Ticket at SCALE… is because they are able to move
thousands of prospects from
“attention state” to “sold state” via Chain-Linking. When a prospect is in the
“sold state” you don’t have to sell him.
He sells himself on your product.
This is why today, high-pressure sales tactics have EVOLVED into chain-linking sales tactics…
… because technology via the means of
YouTube videos, TikTok Videos, Instagram videos is
changing peoples thoughts, beliefs, motivations at scale.
Let me give you an example. Take a look at what
Iman Gadzhi has been doing with his
“Great Reset” series or whatever it’s called.
He’s created a MASSIVE chain-link.
He has 3-4 YouTube videos in this series… and the job of
EACH YouTube video is to connect you to the next video - where the story moves forward.
It’s like watching a Netflix show for these kids.
At the END of the chain he sells you his program.
But the mastery is in his “Chain-Linking” 1) His Chain starts with a sensational announcement across multiple platforms: YT, Email list, Telegram Group, Insta stories… 2) The announcement teases a “groundbreaking” revelation of the “puppet masters of the banking cartel” and how they’re going to make & keep his prospects miserably poor (touches on the pain points, triggers certain emotions..) 3) The video releases, the production is top quality, the message is extremely sensational like you’re watching a late-night history-channel conspiracy theory show (addictive elements that trigger & glue the reptile brain) 4) The video ends on a sort of cliff hanger that pushes his audience to make sure they watch the next video that releases a few days later, to complete the story and mystery he is “revealing” so they can protect themselves from “tyranny” 5) He has additional components to his chain that make his viewership go viral in the form of free giveaways, cash prizes for liking & commenting on his videos - so he games the YT algos at scale (and actually gives away thousands of dollars in cash which is cool, as that’s fed into his customer acquisition cost). 6) There’s mass hysteria among his target audience, and without them realizing this, they’re giving away their thinking power to him. He thinks for them, they just DO based on what he thinks is right for them. That is to start an agency. Across the several videos they don’t realize but he’s changed their thoughts, their beliefs, and he’s modified their intent and motivations. 7) At the end of the chain his prospects are lead to buy his Agency Navigator program. At this point they are already in the “SOLD STATE” via the Chain-linking mechanism described above. A slight push-over-the-fence from a sales rep, and they all buy PROVIDED it’s a good offer.
There are several components to a successful chain, and there are
SPECIFIC methods & actions you need to take to make sure the chain is strong - so you can
SCALE your High-Ticket sales. But you need to understand, that what’s even MORE important than simply running ads to get high ticket clients, is to
link a strong chain together.
Again, I am NOT saying this is evil manipulation. It is ONLY evil, if you falsely advertise your products & services.
If the product or service is fake and doesn’t deliver results, then it’s a CON.
If the product or service is beneficial for the buyer, then it’s MARKETING.
THE COMPONENTS OF THE CHAIN
There are several components to a strong chain, but they are ALL glued together with the
power of words. Whether it’s a
video, or written copy -
it’s all words. It’s really only
WORDS that has moved human beings from a relatively new species on the planet, to the world’s most powerful & dominant species.
The ability to
communicate articulately, transfer thoughts, trigger emotions, transfer ideas, instill beliefs, motivate and inspire actions — That’s what separates us from every other species in the animal kingdom.
- We use WORDS to make people and things move. - We use WORDS to make people create things out of thin air. - We use WORDS to drive people to take action. Words create visuals in the mind -> visuals create feelings in the body -> feelings arouse desire in the heart -> desire creates motivation to do something -> and the will to do something inspires action A chain is an assembly of links. A ROBUST assembly is what makes the chain-link STRONG.
These are the components of a robust chain: 1) Words 2) Visuals 3) Feelings 4) Desire 5) Motivation 6) Inspiration 7) Action
- At the Top-Of-Funnel of your chain you grab attention with words
- Your words should create specific visuals in your prospects minds
- Those visuals should make your prospects feel certain things (now they are his visuals & his feelings)
- Those feelings should elicit desire for something that he wants
- That desire should motivate him to want to accomplish something now
- That motivation to accomplish something now should inspire him to take ACTION now!
Every component of the chain needs to worked on thoroughly. You should NEVER take your prospect for granted. Remember this... -Just because he clicks on your Ad doesn’t mean he will sign up -Just because he signs up doesn’t mean he will watch your video -Just because he starts watching your video doesn’t mean he will complete it -Just because he watches your entire video doesn’t mean he will apply & book a call -Just because he books a call doesn’t mean he will show up -Just because he shows up doesn’t mean he will buy your program
Are you starting to see clearly now? EVERY component of the chain needs to be thoroughly worked on…
And it needs to be worked on using the
power of words.
If you’re not good at writing, then you need to work with a copywriter. A direct response copywriter.
But you will
NOT succeed if you cannot write good copy.
You need good copy for your
videos, your sales letters, your VSLs, your ads, your creatives, all your pages… Without good copy you will certainly
never make it on the internet. Or to put it rather simply - if you want to make it on the internet you need to get good at writing well.
If you’d like to get good at copywriting, you can read my book to learn advanced copywriting frameworks to sell your offers on the internet -
you’ll find it on my profile.
So how do you assemble the components of the chain you ask? Keep reading…
THE FORMULA TO ASSEMBLE THE COMPONENTS
Marketing is a creative science. And science follows formulas. There are
4 main pillars to assemble the components of the chain.
The components of the assembly line are based on these 4 pillars: 1) Pain & Problems 2) Mistakes 3) Pleasures 4) Solutions
To dive deeper…
1) Pain & Problems… your prospects are having
2) The mistakes… they’re making due to which they’re having these problems
3) The pleasure… they will derive from fixing these mistakes
4) Your solution… that will help them fix their mistakes, eliminate their problems and help them experience the pleasures they want
These pillars allow you to
strengthen the components of your chain...
When you’re trying to move prospects from
“attention state” to “sold state”… … When you’re trying to move them from
“words” to “action”… … the more you base your components on
these 4 pillars the
more successful you will be.
You’ll need these pillars in: 1) Ad copy 2) Sales Letters 3) VSLs 4) Emails 5) Organic YT, TikTok videos
Now remember the High-Ticket sales process I mentioned earlier: Audience -> Copy -> OffeFunnel -> Ads -> Lead Gen -> Sales 101 + Nurturing -> Application -> Sales Call -> Close That’s the overall big picture chain…
To attract your audience and close them, you have to move them from
“words” to “action”. You need all the components between words & action to move them from
“attention” to “sold state”. And your components need to be based on the
4 pillars I just taught you.
The threshold for how well someone responds to pointing out their
pain & problems, directly corresponds to their
“emotional state” - but that’s a topic for another post.
Going forward,
when you look at Gurus online, pay attention! You will notice these pillars, you’ll notice the
components, and you’ll clearly see the invisible
“chain-linking” in action… Only this time you
WON'T unconsciously participate in their chain, but you will observe what they’re doing with this newfound wisdom you have.
You will be able to study their marketing, understand what’s going on, and optimize your own marketing based on what you see happening in the market. This is why it’s important to learn the
FUNDAMENTALS.
You don’t just blindly wanna follow Gurus, instead, you want to understand
HOW their marketing works - so you can
make your marketing better than theirs!
THE FACEBOOK ADS FUNNEL
Facebook is my favorite Ad network. I’ve made millions of dollars using it… For other businesses,
I’ve made over $55M+ in just the last 3 years… I’ve been running
Facebook Ads since 2010 (still have that Ad account). BEFORE they even had this thing called the “pixel”. Back then we would just buy impressions by targeting interests - there were no optimization events.
As of today, it’s an extremely intelligent Ad network.
The cost effective ability to just launch an offer and start making money from the first day of running ads, just doesn’t exist on other networks…
Most people fail on Facebook because their fundamentals are not in order. The same fundamentals I just taught you in the sections above.
But now that YOU have your fundamentals sorted, you can confidently run Ads, and
you will make money with certainty! However, before you start running Ads you need to
make sure you’ve set up your structures correctly - so that you don’t get banned or get your accounts disabled.
Read my blueprint here on how to properly configure your Facebook Ads setup so you’re good to run
profitable ads without the worries of getting your ad accounts banned or restricted…
WHAT WORKS FOR HIGH-TICKET? Models change as markets get more sophisticated.
What was new becomes old, and what’s old could possibly become new again. But in most cases old models never return.
The pager will never return, fax will never return…
In high-ticket marketing we used to have Webinars. The webinar model was popularized by Sam Ovens. Many experts then taught what he taught - and eventually the webinar model stopped working.
There are a plethora of models that have come and gone… we had the long form VSL (with text subtitles)…
We had the case study model… then we had the 5-min VSL (which is still doing well)… now Podcast VSLs are becoming the new thing…
The question you need to ask yourself, is
what does YOUR market consume? What skills can you bring to the table to make your assets more engaging? Are you good at video? Are you good at writing copy? Are you a good media buyer? Are you good at SEO? What is YOUR skill?
YOUR skill needs to be the
primary driver of your campaign. For me it’s always been copywriting that’s my primary skill - I can write 10,000 words a day if I really want to without getting bored. I genuinely love it.
So naturally, sales letters were the primary driver of my campaign.
So in this post I’ll talk about my
Sales Letter Method that’s left industry experts astonished at my results.
My sales letters in the high ticket space have turned: - $4k of Ad spend into $10M for a investment offer - $7k of Ad spend into $200k/month for enterprise software - $5k of Ad spend into $50k/month for web development agencies - $500k of Ad spend into $3M/month for home & bath remodeling
I’ve done the sales letter method in 37+ industries, over 217 businesses and $55M+ revenue generated.. Here’s how it works.
The Sales Letter Method
On the surface the concept is simple. You write a
long form sales letter for your market with your offer. You have NO opt-in page… you send traffic straight to the long-form.
The sales letter is usually 3000-4000 words long. The goal of the sales letter is to
educate + motivate the reader. Educate them on what they’ve been missing… and motivate them to take action.
It works in every industry.
One of my clients named Arash hit
$20,000/month in commissions selling mortgages, with a simple sales letter backed by
only $1.5k in Ad spend… And then I have
real estate brokers who’ve sold multi-million dollar luxury homes using the sales letter method.
The goal is to
heighten emotional impact via education and then motivate them to get the pay off.
There is NO call-to-action anywhere on the page, except for the BOTTOM.
Only after they’ve read the entire sales letter, at the bottom of the page they find a CTA that asks them to opt-in to proceed to an application.
When you do this, you
eliminate bad leads, and only have qualified prospects at the bottom of the letter.
After they opt-in, they have to
fill an application form that further qualifies their intent. This application will tell you
if they’re motivated to get started soon, if they have
money to spend with you, what kind of help they need, if you’re able to even help them etc. etc. - the more information they give you in the application the more motivated they are…
After they fill up the application form, you send them to your calendar to book an appointment. They select a day & time and book that meeting.
With the sales letter method we
shorten the chain, we make it tight and only let QUALIFIED prospects through the door… those who are motivated and ready to buy your products right now…
The sales letter method can easily get you from
$0 to $50k-$100k a month. On a light
$5k-$8k ad spend.. The sales letter method replaces the webinar because nobody wants to watch 1 hour long videos to get the payoff - if the market is sophisticated -
people want the solution now… and that’s what the sales letter gives them.
If your sales letter has ALL the components of the chain based on
the 4 pillars I mentioned above - you will have a
HIT letter! And this letter can
make you lots of money for a year or two easily.
So naturally the next step is to understand
how to run Facebook Ads and throw traffic at this sales letter that brings you high-ticket clients.
FACEBOOK CAMPAIGNS
The setup is extremely simple. I’ve written a TON of posts on how to setup your campaigns in detail which you can find anywhere on my profile.
But since this post is already getting too long, it’ll keep it short.
a) You create 1 CBO b) 1 Ad Set c) 1 or 2 Ads 1) Set the budget on the CBO to $100 per day (…or $50 per day if you use my special targeting method explained later in this post) 2) With the Ad set stack it up with audiences relevant to your niche, and make sure you narrow them down to your particular demographic (when you use my special targeting method you don’t need to do this - instead you directly target people with money!) 3) Keep your audience size between 3M-5M 4) Set placements to Facebook newsfeed ONLY 5) On the Ads level write 1 ad with mid-form copy 500 words max… and have 2 creatives in there. And that’s all. Just leave it alone.
This setup alone should get you 2-5 appointments a day… As you want to increase lead flow, simply bump up the budgets and wait 3-5 days for the ad sets to optimize.
If you want to spread lead flow across
multiple sales teams,
just make sure you add more creatives as you bump budgets up. TARGETING
Targeting can make or break your campaigns. Yet this is what confuses most people. And now with Facebook removing interests by the thousands, and Google removing targeting options everyday… it’s become
even more confusing. The main thing you want to look for when targeting is
“intent”. If you change your focus from demographic to
“prospect intent” you will be more successful.
When you think within the constraints of avatademographic - you’ll be very restricted. Restricted because you’ll type in the same first things that come to all your competitors minds.
So what ends up happening is
everyone targets the same interests and keywords - and that drives competition up.
When all your competitors are targeting the same keywords and interests that also
drives CPMs up - so advertising becomes
increasingly expensive. That comes with the added issue that your prospects are seeing the
SAME messaging from multiple people, they’re seeing the same claims being made - that makes markets sophisticated.
So you need to focus on
prospect “intent” and think of what their intentions are, and target their intentions.
One of the things I am currently doing is targeting
“High-Intent Audiences” If you’re technically savvy you’ll understand what I mean by the following:
Since interests on Facebook don’t work as well as they used to, due to increased competition and fewer interests available, I’ve started targeting custom lists. What I do works very well.
I developed a tool at my agency that
scrapes & builds large targeted lists of High-Intent prospects. The tool grabs hundreds of thousands of
emails & phones from FB profile IDs then matches them with other social parameters on
LinkedIn, IG, Twitter etc. This can be done in any niche, and you can do it too. Or you can use mine, just ask me or send me a message.
I then upload these lists to any FB Ad account via their API and after they match the lists with their datasets -
I always end up getting a 80-85% match rate. That’s great because with a list of 100,000 contacts, even if 80,000 match - I am now able to create 1-2% LOOKALIKES of this targeted list.
This allows me to
target millions of people that have shown HIGH-INTENT for the products and services I am advertising.
For example, I do this a lot when helping investment funds get accredited investors. It’s not easy to target by net worth on FB anymore - so with my tool I am able to laser target exactly who fits the accredit bracket and target only them with Ads.
This has resulted in
$50 appointment bookings for investment funds with 7-figure accredited investors. This is how I was able to help one fund accrue
$10M with just a $4k in ad spend. You can easily do this if you understand apps and how to use the FB API - it will require some coding and programming on you part..
Or you can use some high-intent marketing and targeting tools to get your hands on such lists and then target them with your ads.
FINAL WORDS
If you’ve read up to this part you’re my type of person. I spend hours on the internet reading long form content.

2023.06.01 15:31 HumanityEnjoyer Feeling obsessive and undescisive on what GPU to buy?
AMD or Nvidia? How much to spend!?!? Price to performance!?!?!?!?
Raytracing, raster, upscaling, frame generation, software suite, VR, SAM, productivity and VRAM!??!?!
oh and lets not forget about power efficiency, temperature, noise, aftermarket cooler, powercables, size and futurproofing...
Ok so that is a lot of things to mentally juggle and it can feel like whatever card you buy these days is a massive mistake to some or the perfect obvious choice to others.
I am going to make the case for the 4070ti right now and the soon to be released 7800xt, I'll mention all other cards across AMD and Nvidia stacks and who each product caters to.
OK the 7800xt isn't released yet, but lets assume it will be $650 and roughly performant between the 6950xt and the 7900xt, with 16gb Vram. ok?
So why the 4070ti not the 7900xt?
The buy in cost of the 4070ti is typically around the price of the 7900xt which has higher Vram and higher rasterized performance, it makes sense to get a 7900xt if you want future proofing in terms of VRAM over the 4070ti. If you play at 4k then the 7900xt likely makes more sense.
12GB of VRAM, although a lot of fuss has been made about it, and I agree 16gb would be more suitable and comfortable, 12GB is fine outside of the most demanding and unoptimized current games. But if you just set everything to ultra all the time you are doing it wrong in the first place.
yes new consoles have 16gb of VRAM but they are also expected to be 120fps 4K machines and to last until 2027.
I argue that playing at 4k is not worth it due to the price hike and performance loss of playing at the resolution. Be prepared to lose easily 30-50% frame rate and spend easily 30-50% more for a monitor that runs at 4k VS 1440p. IMO it doesnt make financial sense.
over the long run, dependant on electrical pricing and gaming usage, but lets assume (based on data from hardware unboxed) total system usage gaming is 63w higher on a 7900xt vs a 4070ti.
Over 4 years this will be between $52 - $240 more to own a 7900xt.
You will save money on your PSU and cooling, things will run quieter and cooler and more efficient on Nvidia.
Where the Nvidia card is especially strong is in ray tracing and frame generation. You can do pathtraced 1440p cyberpunk 2077 on a 4070ti, you cant on a 7900xt. older titles with RT, the 4070ti will do very well in them and outperform the 7900xt. On top of this DLSS is better than FSR, Gsync is better than freesync, and dlss 3.0 is actually released and implimented whereas AMD has yet to release their version which will likely be worse.
AMD drivers may age like fine wine (big MAYBE) but Nvidia DLSS will also age like fine wine, there is an AI boom right now and Nvidia has the best card for utilizing those AI improvements.
Why the 7800xt and not the 6950xt?
the 6950xt right now is an incredible deal in the short term but it has a very high power usage and it gets very hot. That means it has questionable longevity and cost over time which will make it more equivilent to the 4070ti in cost total over 4 years despite being cheaper to purchase.
It is not a bad choice at all, it is probably the current next best choice over the 4070ti, but the upcoming 7800xt will perform better and be much more efficient, it will be the bang for buck champion in raster.
if I was willing to not use raytracing, didn't care about anything outside of PC gaming (that excludes VR) then the 7800xt will be an absolutely no brainer buy and I reccomend to most people reading this that they just wait a month or two and get this card.
Lets talk about every other card in the product stack and who each card is perfect for.
4090 - For those who desire the first true 4k, max everything out including RT and still get 60+ FPS card, this is it. Also the go to VR, productivity, machine learning card if you can afford it.
4080 - Incredibly efficient card with very good 1440p longevity. For those who cant afford or dont need the power of the 4090.
7900xtx - Huge raw rasterized performance for the price, for those who dont care about RT and just want a pure gaming card.
4070 - Entry level 1440p, high level 1080p raytracing card.
6950xt - Bang for buck champion rasterized performance today.
4060ti - Super efficient 1080p card, good for small form factor.
7600 - standard new AMD low end card, nothing special, strong 1080p performance.
And that is that.
Hopefully cleared up some confusion about the current options in the GPU market today. At the end of the day there is a lot of FOMO, I've seen a lot of people upsell themselves on products and end up with a 4080 or a 7900xtx when something for half the price would have been great like the 6950xt.
Paying a lot for new tech almost never makes sense. The 3090ti released 1 year ago and cost around $2k. I can get them easily $725 used today. Not only that I got my 4070ti for effectivley $645 which, when using frame gen, outperforms the 3090ti in 1440p by 30-50%.
Get yourself the modern mid level tech, if you don't think it performs well enough then you are probably turning settings too high or are jumping on new tech like raytracing or nvidia hairworks too early; if you want to be stubborn and impatient and uncomprising with max settings and new tech then prepare to get milked dry.
can I get a moo from all the 4090 owners right now? (:
And finally understand, it is a matter of perspective and use case. There are many happy 1080ti owners today, your new 40/7000 series card is going to be much better in most ways than a 1080ti, appreciate that.

2023.06.01 15:29 lazymentors What Changed in Advertising, Agencies & Marketing May 2023?
Tiktok: Changes Affecting Creators & Advertisers
Tiktok made major changes to its platform. With the launch of their new creator fund “creativity program beta”. They have encouraged the top 4% of creators to push more long-form content.
And this push is also delivering results for Top Advertisers in the space. This fund was launched alongside a new Tiktok Ad format, PulsePremiere. These Ads currently in beta are shown after a trending piece of content.
For Music Marketers & Artists, Tiktok launched #newmusic to support upcoming artists.
And after that boom, we got smashed with the TikTok US state ban in Montana. There is a huge controversy around it but this news isn’t affecting marketing spend.
Executional Angles 🎬
Tiktok’s Ad platform and creator marketplace are getting better. The updates aren’t public. I have tracked a few cheeky practices from the Tiktok product team to gather more user data and better their Ad platform. Expect better location-based targeting in the upcoming few months.
For organic, With the new creator fund. Many long-form content creators are seeing an engagement hike for their content. You can experiment with long-form content as a business to connect longer with the audience.
And a nice sign is TikTok is now pushing more content from “people you follow” to the For You page. As mentioned in my Tiktok marketing post, this is something new and encouraging for brands.
Upcoming: Tiktok is testing an AI Chatbot similar to snapchat. This launch will help them keep users more engaged.
Pinterest: Affecting Organic Content
In April, Pinterest got into huge issues with user safety on the platform because many users were targeting young audiences. After that Pinterest made a few changes and at the beginning of May, launched their transparency report showcasing how they are filtering harmful content.
A great callout here is “Gen-Z is on Pinterest”. Every single platform mentions that they have Gen-Z users on their apps to attract advertisers. But data from different research shows that Pinterest has a growing Gen-Z user base, especially for diverse and Female audiences.
Bring back to the latest content ranking system and algorithm changes to Pinterest. Earlier this week, I shared this blog post from the Pinterest engineering team about the latest updates to the platform.
Executional Breakdown of Algorithm First of all, how the Pinterest algorithm ranks content is very simple and it's all based on user interactivity.
All different engaging elements like comments, save, share, and like give the content system a signal to rank your content for relevant topics. As revealed by their engineering team in this post and by the previous product manager at Pinterest on Lenny’s podcast.
The new changes to Pinterest are very simple:
Diversifying your content, Pinterest is making changes to the content system to make sure the content it ranks on the app isn’t too sensitive toward a demographic. That is why they want Pinterest businesses and creators to diversify their Pinterest boards and content strategy.
This affects niches like Beauty, Fashion, and other lifestyle-related brands. Don’t try to sell the idea of clear skin or a perfect body shape. Pinterest is looking to provide a better and healthy space for young audiences.
The second change is “keyword search”. In the blog post, there are mentions that the algorithm will try to show more of the content that includes identical keywords & sentence structure to “user search queries”. To promote more relevancy and better content to users.
These are the main changes, I will share more on Pinterest in my upcoming blogs to help you overall with Pinterest marketing.
Platform Changes: Pinterest users can now add links to every single Posting format. And added a new platform analytics feature for better insights.
Twitter: Regaining Advertiser Trust & Bots
With the new Twitter CEO coming in, One of the Top Advertisers mentioned their comeback to advertise on the Bird app. But mid-micro advertisers are still not loving the Ad platform.
Besides advertising, Twitter continues to launch new services and features for Blue subscribers. And decreasing creator monetization requirements, increasing the video upload limit to 2 hours. The other focus is on attracting more advertisers to the platform.
A lot going on forTwitter. But the biggest issue is that Bot spam is at its peak, removing bots was one of the biggest promises made by ElonMusk. Still not delivered.
I have my fingers crossed for June.
Execution Considerations: Twitter is getting better at recommending relevant tweets under the original tweets you read. And as you know it is mentioned on Github that the Twitter connection network plays a huge role in getting content discovered.
I recommend refining your network and networking with the right audiences. Kinda old advice but the platform is testing new prompts related to this. That is why you should click on it.
Agencies & Brands: Who got the best campaign?
Starting with the world's biggest marketing agency will get even bigger with a new partnership with Nvidia. WPP is partnering with Nvidia to use its AI technology to level up its campaigns. Link!
Shorty Awards took place in May and here is the full list of winners. Have a look and get inspired for next year.
VCCP, a London-based creative agency, is launching an AI-creative agency. The usage of generative AI is increasing very fast and adaptation is the key now. Link!
This month was filled with brand and marketing events. I found a curated list of brand marketing events that took place in May. Link!
The New Bud Light is “The North Face”. The new campaign featuring a drag queen is catching negative attention like Budlight. Link!
Jaskaran: I started tracking agency news for the newsletter last week, for future monthly recaps you will find more and better recaps. Instagram: Targeted Advertising!
Believe it or not. Meta is moving fast with Instagram now. Tiktok announced their search ads will roll out slowly to marketers, and last week Meta came in clutch and announced “Instagram search Ads”. You can access them through the Instagram marketing API. Link!
Besides that Instagram made a huge spark as the information about a new Twitter viral came up. Meta is expected to launch a new decentralized Twitter-like app for their users in June. Many are excited about it. It could be a great opportunity for businesses as many find IG very hard to scale.
Decentralized means your followers can follow you on the new app with one click. This app can help you reach more existing followers on IG & FB.
Other than these two, there was a list of updates including a new creator fund announcement. But not much impacting your organic growth.
PPC: New Policies Kicking In
For the second half of 2023, Advertisers in the UK & EU need compliance with these new Google Ad requirements. Link!
Google and Walmart both took steps to make media buying and Ad creative creation easier. You can read here about Google’s new approach to media buying and how Walmart here is trying to help businesses with Ad creatives.
Microsoft is moving fast with Bing Chat Advertising, You can now use Chat Ads API to integrate ads within Bing AI. Link!
There were a few other marketing product updates for Microsoft in terms of improving targeting and utilizing AI. One of my favorites is the recent UET update to their analytics dashboard.
For more information, I recommend revisiting our last emails & read this recent Google marketing live recap.
Meta: Data Limitations & AI for Marketers
Meta is stuck. Yes, because they have developed one of the best AI languages and structures to benefit marketers. For example, this new engineering blog showcasing its new AI content structure is golden. Link!
At the same time, Meta is having huge issues in the EU & UK with their data usage. The platform Received a $1.2B fine and now UK representatives are limiting data usage for Meta. Good for privacy but points to a huge problem for paid media marketers.
Meaning Meta’s future is bright due to AI research & frameworks but data issues are like close friends showing up every single day.
Other than this, Meta is launching AI tools to help marketers create better Ad creatives. Link!
In April, Meta increased its involvement in AI to push organic content and in May was focused on utilizing AI for paid media offerings.
Facebook: New Lead generation forms features and a few updates to Facebook reels were key product updates.
WhatsApp: New Updates to WhatsApp Chat features with the addition of Chat Lock, sharing with captions & new polls feature.
SEO: It's all changed but…
With multiple announcements, Google search page structure & how content is ranked will be changing. The new interface is expected to prefer AI-generated results but for June. This new feature is opt-in, users on the desktop can choose to get AI results within a search. Changing their Google page experience.
Many SEOs are predicting a 70-80% traffic drop in the upcoming months. But many experienced SEOs believe changes are good and the traffic for the future will be more quality-oriented.
These insights linked below are from the best SEOs and their opinions on recent search engine marketing changes.
11 Realizations from testing search generative experience. Link!
Aleyda Solis on new Google Changes. Link!
The AI takeover of Google Search. Verge
The technical SEO world is going through many changes. My advice is to keep your focus on the content strategy part for a while. And improve that!
Youtube: New Ad Formats & Algorithm
After doing $40B in revenue last year. The platform announced new Ad formats at IAB Newsfront. With the launch of 30-second unskippable Ads on Connected TV.
Where Youtube is headed with Unskippable Ads is the future of online movie & content streaming. Either platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and other services have to give up a share of revenue. Or they need to go back to unskippable Connected TV Ads format to pay the writers.
Coming back to Youtube, Every week on their “creator insider” channel they announce various new updates. The highlight was the recent update of community post creation for all users.
Partnering with Influencers and using community posts to target core audiences is one of the best strategies based on this new update.
Marketing Research: What Changed?
- Don’t stress out about AI. More than 40% of Americans have never heard of ChatGPT. And only 14% have tried it. (PewResearch)
- Watch out for Podcast Ads, the Ad spend on podcasts is increasing and revenue is up 26% YoY. (IAB)
- Gartner’s research on How ChatGPT is useful to CMOs. (Gartner)
- CTV Ad fraud is increasing with the usage of Bots. (Double Verify)
- Are Twitter users planning a comeback or leaving? (Pew)
- Where is the media spending moving? It is decreasing for a few industries, but only moving to other channels for many. (Insider)
LinkedIn: Continued Organic Growth
As the round of layoffs is not stopping, LinkedIn is having its best time. The in-app activity continues to increase and now the platform has 930 million monthly active users, closing in on the 1 billion mark very soon.
LinkedIn is embracing AI in May with new AI features to help with messaging, job descriptions, and other hiring processes.
All that growth doesn’t mean everything is great. As the platform laid off 700 employees this month.
Overall, LinkedIn is doing good and viewers are loving their new marketing campaign. Watch!
Reddit: E-commerce World
I wrote about this in my updated social media trends post. Reddit is working on various new e-commerce features.
While many believe that the nature of Reddit doesn’t fit e-commerce offerings. Many product reviews and conversations take place on Reddit and users get the ability to integrate products from other businesses within the content. It could work very well.
Using these features to self-promote is impossible but with the right execution. It can do a charm.
Others: Reddit is going through a bot followers scam.
Mini-Bites: Snapchat, Airbnb & Others
Airbnb did the social listening well to steal the attention of an influencer’s audience. (Business Insider)

2023.06.01 15:13 airplanekickflip New build for 4k video editing & 1080p 144hz gaming. Need help deciding between Intel CPUs.
Current workhorse/daily driver is an MSI laptop w/ i7-7700hq and a GTX 1070, from around 2016. It works perfectly fine, but I want to build a new desktop PC for smoother 4k editing performance, and a little smoother FPS in games at 1080p would be nice as well. Also, I just enjoy building PCs, so now seems like a good excuse to do so.
4K Editing For 4K video editing, I'd be primarily using 8-bit 4:2:0 h.264 or h.265 footage, probably won't be interfacing with any RAW or 10-bit. I'll be editing YouTube videos and short films, so a handful of layers and some color correction.
1080p Gaming For gaming, I don't dabble as much in the newer AAA titles, and 1080p is good for me. But, I'd like to play more at higher FPS with a 144hz monitor.
I mostly play Team Fortress 2, which as a source engine game is mostly CPU bound. I hope I can get a more consistently high FPS. (currently, I can average roughly 120 - 200fps, but it can often dip down to 50 or 40fps at high graphics settings. I suppose this might not be as noticeable once I get a g-sync monitor, but if it could stay at least above 60 that would be nice.)
I'd also like to play some slightly newer games, like the Tomb Raider reboot games or Doom 2016, but the majority of my steam library is either 2D games, or otherwise games from before 2016. The games I have the most hours in are either Source engine or GoldSrc engine games.
I'm based in the USA, and happen to be within striking distance of a Micro Center.
Proposed Build Here's a
link to my proposed build.
I'm a bit torn on the CPU. I could save some money by going with a 12400, which would still be a pretty good upgrade from a 7th gen CPU. But when I look at the delta between the 12400 and the 12600k performance in Premiere Pro or blender or other creative/productivity apps, I feel like I might be missing out on some significant performance.
Should I go with the 12600k, or is the 12400 sufficient for 4k editing?
Edit: Fixed the pcpartpicker link.

2023.06.01 15:12 androidbrick TRN T350 Review – Snapdragon Sound
2023.06.01 15:05 aditya-magic PS5 Games Update After 2 Months
PS5 is my First Console, so i had a lot of backlog of games to clear and i have been enjoying my experience with this console and the ps plus subscription.
First I started Spider 2018 And Really Enjoyed The Game and platinumed in a month of playing. I really loved the story and the gameplay but the last trophy that is the crimes made me fed up with the game. But it's ok now after a month. Solid Game and i enjoy seeing a platinum on my profile and the experience of fighting those vwell established villains.
I had started few seconds of Ghost Of Tshushima on my way about 80% of Spiderman but left it cos if felt i should give it the respect of playing it exclusively after Spidermans platinum and i stand by it so when I finished spider i played got and what a game, what a story, i mean it next level and i can't believe in it's genre and space in gaming anything can come close to it. The graphics and the heart touching story. Next level and clearly an indication of what next gen means with ps5. I have completed 83% and i do tune in randomly to demolish 2 to 3 camps a day and intent to get the platinum sometime eventually after all the collectibles and side stories are complete
Then I saw a post on the Spiderman subreddit about how good Guardians Of The Galaxy and due to the hype for GOTG3 i decided to give it a go and boy o boy are thise IGN reviews wrong. This Game is good and really gives you a feel of what i means to be part of the Guardians of the galaxy and enjoying different, new and difficult things but with friends and it's unique combat style is good. This game is the real life embodiment of "with the boys" feeling. Fun and goofy dialogue interactions. Intend to do a second play thru so i can't get all the collectables and trohies for the platinum. Honestly I if you are looking for trophies this is a great game. I just went thru the stories without i guide and not looking for trophies and already have 50 out of 59 all within a single playthrough. Just need 8 miscl for plat.
Then I had just finished Gotham and stumbled upon i game i had added to my library that is Detroit become human and it is awesome. I have no words to describe how good it is and int has about 10 different ending so i will return for multiple more playthroughs through the coming years. Also to trigger the dbh fanbase i accidentally killed off Kara in this in the first 2 of her chapters, tried to change it and it didn't update so basically did one of the stupidest things. A lot to explore in the second playthrough lmao.
Games I haven't Completed
Drakes Fortune is a cool game and its kinda of a game i could play one chapter to break the flow from another game i have played for some time and want a break. Tho it's aged not too well and i am stuck on the stupid chapter where you have to go up the rivwr in a jetski and shoot at the same time for a few days now.
Horizon Zero Dawn i played the first hour and i seemed childish but after playing like 6-7 more hours into it i gotta say i enjoy tha game and still have a lot to go through. The saving mechanism is the only thing i don't like in it.
Games I won't play again but tried
Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart it's too much of a kidish game for me to enjoy ever but i did give it a try for an hour or so but worse than I expected. But i understand why do many people like it
Games I will definitely play in the coming months
God Of War
TLOU remaster i have played 5 + hours but took a break and will finish later
Uncharted 2,3,4 and Lost legacy but after i complete 1 and then in the order
