2023.06.06 01:05 MP4Prophet Bbq sear box question
| Got my WW pro 36 up and running and finally got around to installing my sidekick. My question is on the bbq seat box. Is there supposed to be some sort of grease tray or anything below? I see 4 holes in the corners but not seeing anything I’m missing to install in the box (other than the grease bucket for the griddle, which I didn’t get). It seems like the grease would seep down the vents and end up on the sidekick burner itself. Am I missing anything or is this how it’s supposed to be? New to camp chef but absolutely loving the ww pro. submitted by MP4Prophet to CampChefSmokers [link] [comments] |

2023.06.05 23:35 Matt_the_Senior YAVP : L+ Ultra Ending
So... I made it at last, my first Ultra Ending. Raven Dark Elven Paladin, Starting C and finishing L+.
It was the first time I was trying an Ultra (well, after a few recent early fails due to carelessness). All in all, I didn't find it much harder than a Normal Ending : Having to stay C at the start of the game has some drawbacks, of course, like encountering hostile dwarves (I did the Rolf quest, too), but all in all, game difficulty is about the same. There are more quests to do and more things to plan, though, and I really enjoyed that (in a sense, it was like playing a new game).
The reason for Raven DE Paladin and L+ Ultra is that it's probably the easiest possible Ultra (or at the very least close to it) : Raven ensures that you get the Rune Covered Trident early, which in turn guarantees that you can start training Polearms and Thrown Spears early. DE Paladins have good survivability early on, and are beasts when it comes to melee *and* magic by the late game.
Starting attributes (unadjusted) were : St 15 / Le 4 / Wp 17 / De 14 / To 15 / Ch 1 / Ap 4 / Ma 17 / Pe 16
Le 4 allows to get the Potion of Litteracy, which was fed to the Demented Ratling. Pe 16 is enough to reach 20 after the bonuses are taken into account (+2 from job +Alert).
Early game was killing a Mugger, locating the stairs and getting the Blanket in the SMC (in the hopes of getting some loot, which didn't happen), getting the Pickpocket skill, then DD (went to DD8 to generate the Druid, but didn't fight him), Moldy Dungeon (to get the Tome of Donors), and finally the Caverns of Chaos.
I was extremely lucky to find a Surge of Power on D5, which turned out to be nothing less than the Bracers of War.
Then it was classical midgame stuff (herbs, Dwarftown, midgame locations). The Demented Ratling was fed : the Black Torc, the Potion of Litteracy, the Cornupia, the Ancient Mummy Wrapping (I had no use for it since I had the RCT and the Bracers of War), The Sword of Nonnak (same) and the Tome of Donors (I could have kept it, but I wanted to get crowned L+ asap). Gaab'Baay's quests went fast (I had found most of the needed stuff, and the second boar I encountered dropped a skull). Got crowned L+ at level 18, using the Borderland Settlement altar, and received Fire Immunity + Hammer of the Gods (which I never used). I already had Cold Immunity from the RCT, Acid Immunity from a lucky early Giant Slug, and Shock Immunity from blessing then eating numerous Lightning Lizards.
The Greater Vault in the FGJC was a one with 10 Great Red Wyrms. Needless to say, I didn't try to clear the center room at level 20.
Got a Ring of Djinni Summoning in the Rift, which I used to save Khelly. That's the only RoDS that I found during that playthrough.
While I was on my way to the CoC Great Vault, I found a tension room full of Balors. Since fighting 2 of them in a corridor wasn't particularly frightening, I could cast Slow Monster on myself and got quite a few levels.
Then, the guaranteed CoC Great Vault was one with Giants, which posed no threat by that stage. Got Far Slayer (the +18 +18 crossbow).
After that, I went back to the FGJC Great Vault, and blasted the Wyrms with Freezing Fury (the clerical version of Ice Ball) + Slow Monster cast on myself. Got quite a few levels there (something like from 42 to 49 iirc). The loot was underwhelming : Tome of Alsophocus, Staff of Wonder, bleh ! However, this removed the need to farm experience to reach level 45, which was nice.
Finished Rolf quest at that point. Received the Gleaming Shield just in time to use it (along with one phase dagger) against the Emperor Moloch. Considering how sturdy and fast my character was, it was only a matter of hit and run tactics (and escaping the level asap once I got the Crumpled Scroll).
Then the Blue Dragon Caves (got very lucky there with a Wand of Wishing (3 charges) + Helm of the Night Watchman + Staff of Purification), and finally the Merchants Guild. Found the Shirt of the Saints + Stone of Ages (not bad) + 11M gold (that turned into +3 Wp with the help of Garth).
After that, I killed Keriax (I'm not even sure he saw me), wasted some time raising attributes to the 60s (by dipping various stacks of 9x2s potions in blessed potions of Exchange), read a few spellbooks (just in case, really) and finally went for the deep dive.
I had some fun clearing the Chaos Plane using almost exclusively Wp 99 Rain of Sorrow (Acid Ball). Then drank all boosting potions, equiped the trinity and entered the portal.
Andor Drakon was killed using the RCT as a missile weapon. It took 37 shots (of which 17 missed) to kill him, and during that time he really didn't do much : One summoning spell (one zap from a wand of fireballs and the summons were gone), one darkness spell (no effect, since I was wearing the Helm of the Night Watchman), one attack spell, and one step towards me. Oh, and I forgot : he also did a great introductory speech ! Having drunk 12 blessed potions of Boost Speed before steping into the portal is certainly the decisive factor that turned a potentially hard fight into a very easy one.
Some random thoughts :
- The Farsight spell is awesome : it vastly boosts your vision range. Probably a quite rare spellbook, since I only found one.
- For some reason, that character only scored 10M points, while I had a character that did a Normal Ending score 12M points recently. I was quite surprised : I would have thought that an Ultra Ending would have beaten any Normal Ending.
- Provided you buy all potions from the Borderland Settlement whenever you have a chance, you should end up with enough potions of Exchange and enough stacks of useless 2s potions to do some serious potion dipping. Even better if you have the Potion Belt (which I didn't have) or at the very least Moon Sickle (to turn any useless 4s potion into another useless, but lighter, potion). Sadly, I had sacrificed Moon Sickle, so I had to make do with what I had. Nonetheless, I could get quite a few POGAs that way.
- I still had a few items destroyed in the Blue Dragon Caves, although I had 3 immunities (Lightning Lizard + TotRR + Blue Dragon Scale Mail) and 2 resistances (Ring of the High Kings, Gauntlets of Elemental Mastery). Still, if you leave any precious stuff before entering, the item destruction is very manageable.
- Talking about item destruction : only the half of the level where the Air Temple is located seems to be "dangerous" when it comes to item destruction. The other half seems to be completely safe, at least I never had a single item destroyed there.
- The bonuses from eating some Chaos corpses are nice, but nothing compared to what you can get from potion dipping.
I'm going to stop there. Big thanks to all who answered my questions during the past few weeks, and feel free to ask back if you have any question :)

All the forces of Order seem to be united behind them. You are lifted to the status of an Avatar of Order and the tales of your deeds are spread all over Ancardia. Your deeds are recounted at camp fires and interpreted by philosophers and priests alike. The common man looks up to you and you slowly start to be revered as a minor power of Order. After a few millennia have passed you are raised to the position of a demigod to guard and protect Ancardia from the forces of Chaos and Balance forever. Under your guidance Ancardia becomes an orderly and organized world without striking changes. Peaceful order (and boredom?) spreads and the world enters an era of peace and tranquility never again leaving it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Her achievements during her battles: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Star, the dark elven paladin, transformed into an avatar of Order. 2023.06.05 19:36 ProtectionPowerful90 Recovering dog will only eat chicken and steak
My girl is 7 or 8 years old and has always had an incredible hound appetite. Reminded me (strongly) of every feeding due. Loves all foods. And I mean all. Typically eats 3.5 c of Purina pro plan chicken kibble. She’s at a healthy weight of 55-60 lb. She had surgery to have a mast cell tumor removed from her foot (1.5 weeks ago) and her appetite has been minimal since being sedated 3 times in a week (surgery, debridement, bandage changes). Bloodwork is good. She isn’t on any medications. Her incision is having a horrible time healing and will need grafting in the next couple of weeks. No metastases beyond foot/leg.
My vet was kind enough to let us try some science diet healthy digestion canned food (chicken and veg) to see if that would get her interested in eating. She ate some of it (about 1/5 c out of the 1/3 c I gave her) and then lost interest. So far, the only things I can get her interested in eating are shredded rotisserie chicken, chopped steak, and, oddly, Trader Joe’s PB and banana dog biscuits. She hasn’t pooped in a week. Vet expects this is due to not eating much. Makes sense to me.
Just wondering if anyone out there has been in a similar situation and found some key to getting your dog interested in eating a (at least slightly wider) variety of food. Any suggestions welcome!!
So far, here’s what I’ve tried that she hasn’t liked/eaten: -rice, plain and with chicken stock -unsweetened apple sauce -scrambled eggs cooked in a little bit of bacon grease -baby food chicken sticks (ate a couple 2 days ago; now won’t touch them) -Rachel ray chicken and meatballs for dogs and her beef & pumpkin canned food - oatmeal with and without coconut oil (she usually loves coconut oil) - chicken drippings and chicken broth from the rotisserie chicken on other various foods - shredded broccoli (this is usually her all time favorite food - typically frozen though - otherwise I wouldn’t have tried it) … she ate a floret or two
As it is, she’s been subsisting on chicken and steak mainly for the past 4-5 days. Probably a half cup of steak and a cup of shredded chicken each day. Still lethargic and drinking water often.
Vet suggested 20mg of Pepcid 2x/day so we’ll be starting that today to see if it helps. Also getting some canned pumpkin to try. He didn’t recommend an appetite stimulant just yet. Any other suggestions? I realize this is Reddit, not a vet clinic, so I’ll take suggestions with a grain of salt. But, I’ll do anything to get her eating well again. I just want her to heal!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhEJTALli1c If you like Crye combat gear, you will like UF Pro better. After trying UF Pro, my Cryes felt cheaply made and lacking on functionality so I got rid of them. UF Pro's pants have a lot of scalability built into them with the integrated multilevel knee pads, and multiple zipper mesh openings for heat management. Most important to me, the knee pads cannot be ripped out since their are in protected pockets and there is a windstop layer that UF Pro sells which can be added to the pants with ease for windy/colder climate.

2023.06.05 18:11 trishia42 Asus Strix G18 - idle temperatures and other
Recently posted about trying to decide between the Asus Strix G18 or Lenovo Legion Pro 7i - I went with the Strix G18 because
that screen. I will at the very least be exchanging the one that I currenly have as it's got a stubborn stuck pixel and I'm still within the exchange/return window but I had a couple of questions for those of you who either own this model or one in the same line with similar specs, as I'm debating exchange
vs return. The one I have is i9-13980HX, 32 GB RAM, 4070 graphics.
- What I've noticed is that the fans are pretty much constantly on even at idle - the CPU temps will often be at 70-75 degC which explains the fans being on usually around at least 2000 rpm for all three; HWiNFO seems to indicate thermal throttling of one of the cores as well. Every now and then it'll drop to 50-55 (what I would expect I think), but then it creeps back up at some point. This is with the settings at Silent/Standard and nVidia set to "Automatic Select" in the control panel. I did not expect this, especially given how quiet my 10-year old Zenbook is even when I have three windows with like 12 tabs open in each. I have not owned a gaming laptop in quite a while though, so I'm unsure of what is 'normal'; I am guessing that the temperatures should probably not be this high though. Are the fans always going on your laptops even when doing some light-to-medium web browsing? Is that just a thing for gaming laptops in general?
- Another thing I've also noticed is that when starting/shutting down certain applications that seem to use graphics, there'll be like a 3-seconds or so period where the screen will freeze; I'm assuming this is due to switching between integrated/dedicated but I found it a little surprising that it wasn't, well, smoother?
- Coil whine - I did expect this given the previous reports but was surprised to find out it occurs at idle or under low-load as well. I hadn't seen all that many people reporting that, so I was under the impression it would only be present at higher-loads and/or with the higher cards. It is not all that loud to be honest - I feel a lot of people most likely would not notice it, and was unsure if it bothered me enough. Went through two BIOS updates and felt like the second one (309) made things worse and that the latest (312) took it back down; capping frame rates, running Heaven overnight at high settings, and slightly undervolting with MSI Afterburner all made no difference. Not entirely sure if it will diminish with time.
Anyways, I welcome any input, especially since it's been quite a while since I've been doing the laptop upgrading game. My main issue right now is the CPU temp and how the fans are pretty much constantly on when I'm doing just light stuff on it. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that the Buffs/Nerfs are based on what people play, not what is best in slot for champs.
So some champs under nerfs could be buffed and some buffed champs could be buffed way larger than it seems at first glance.

Riot still doesn't know what they want to do with him. Up and down but never do they meet the sweet spot. 8-10 dmg on the W based on rank would have fit a lot better for the ability he maxes last already. Support Amumu is now better than jungle again.

A very large nerf, but he still manages in soloQ in most elos. In Dia+ he struggles. Riot likely has to review him a bit and think about a way to get him back up in high elo and pro play.

The 50 Best Video Games of the Atari Era
Want to see the best games before this era? Check out this list which was compiled by Reddit users' nominations and votes over an entire year:
https://www.reddit.com/retrogaming/comments/o4drau/best_video_games_of_the_atari_era_poll_final/ What Was Eligible To Be Nominated:
- Any Arcade coin-op game from 1985-1988.
- Any Computer game (any PC system) from 1985-1988.
- Any Home Console game from the 3rd Generation (regardless of year published unless it is a port): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_generation_of_video_game_consoles
- NO SNES games, NO Sega Genesis/Mega Drive games. Those systems aren't retro enough for this poll.
- NO Sonic. NO Streets of Rage, NO A Link to the Past, NO Super Mario World. Those games aren't retro enough for this poll.
Exceptions:
In general, the original year published takes precedence. No games that played betteare more iconic/are more remembered in an earlier or later era.
"Sonic the Hedgehog" was released for Sega Master System, but as a port, it was made for the Sega Genesis, so it is not eligible for this poll.
"Tetris" made its biggest impact with 35 million copies sold for the Game Boy, in the next era, so it is not eligible for this poll.
Arcade ports like the original "Mario Bros.", which hit arcades in 1983 are not eligible for this poll, even though they were ported to home consoles from the next generation.
1984's coin-op “Punch-Out!!”, was more iconic/more remembered as 1987's “Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!” on the NES, which is now eligible for this poll.
Instances like this can be debated. I think it's best to allow all games from a console to be designated to one era, and for games to appear in one era poll only.
The Idea:
Comparing, say, Pong and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, is not useful. It's like arguing which is better: the Ford Model T or the Space Shuttle? But comparing games of their era is interesting and fun! Usually, best game polls are limited to a single system. This poll is unique because it includes all platforms from the era together. How will the best arcade, computer and Master System games compete with the best that Nintendo had to offer? It will be interesting!
Why Only Arcade and Computer Games from 1985-1988?
The 3rd Generation of home consoles launched in the West with the NES in 1985 and changed everything. The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive launched in 1989, began the 4th generation of home consoles which will begin the era for the next series of polls after this concludes.
The Criteria:
I'll leave it up to the individual to decide. Innovation, quality, influence, iconic status, how much fun it was then, how it holds up today, are all valid. Whatever games you love, whatever games you want to see named as the greatest of the era.
What Happens Next:
Next week we will move on from the NES/Master System Era to the SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era, for a new set of polls.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in the polls and nominate games in the comments section.
This will be a series of polls I hope to hold every week for a long time! Have fun everyone!

2023.06.05 03:46 Zen-Knight Default PPT/TDC/EDC Too Low On New 5700X?
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: GTX 1660 Ti 6GB
CPU: RYZEN 7 5700X 8 CORE 16 THREADS
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX
BIOS Version: C02v3G (2023-04-27, latest available)
RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 3200 CAS 16
PSU: Corsair TX850 80+ Bronze non-modular
Case: Cooler Master HAF X (yes very big and very old)
Operating System & Version: Windows 10 PRO 19045
GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - WHQL Driver Version: 532.03
Chipset Drivers: AMD Chipset Driver 5.01.29.2026 (2023-02-24, latest)
Description of Original Problem: I just upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600X to a Ryzen 7 5700X. While testing by system's stability and temp using Prime95, I noticed all my cores were dropping to 3.3GHz, sometimes even 3.2GHz although my CPU temp doesn't seem to ever go past 50C. Since the base clock is supposed to be 3.4GHz, I wouldn't expect this to happen. I used HWiNFO for the core speeds and temperature and verified with CPU-Z.
Troubleshooting: I tried to resent all BIOS values to default (not a full CMOS clear, is that a problem?). Then I opened Ryzen Master (I don't really overclock, but was curious) and noticed that PPT (76W) was 100% (but CPU power was just under 53W), TDC (60A) was 95% and EDC (90A) was 80%. I opened the PBO setting and just increased the PPT to 80W which allowed the CPU to reach 56W and now the CPU never dropped below 3.4GHz.
So not a big problem, but did anyone else ever had a similar issue? With no OC I would expect to be able to run all 8 cores at base clock together without the need of PBO to increase the PPT. At first I though it might be because of my old CPU, but it used to draw even more power than this one so it's not as if the MB can't provide that with default setting.
Thanks for any insight you could provide.

2023.06.05 02:18 ZaBaronDV Beyond Red, Blue, and Yellow: The 2012 Confederate Farmers Convention Part II
The Farmers have decisively named their Presidential nominee,
Al Gore. Webb met his loss with magnanimity, smiling as he shook hands with his fellow Senator. In a short but sweet acceptance speech, Gore said, among other things, "I have my vision. It's comprehensive and sweeping. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. And during my service in Congress, I have always taken the initiative. And I will take the initiative here in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection."
It's now time for the Vice Presidential nomination. It's time for the candidates to make their case...
Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana
Despite coming in third out of three in the Presidential nomination race, Landrieu still keeps in the race as a possible Vice Presidential nominee. She would be the first female Vice President in Confederate history if Gore wins the election (though some history buffs joke she would be the second, referencing First Lady Edith Wilson). Her moderate reputation is solid, and she could lock up the female vote. Plus, if Louisiana's vote in this election was ever in doubt, it wouldn't be going forward.
That's the thing, however. Louisiana, and the broader Deep South, are near-guaranteed to vote for the Farmers this election. There's also still the question of Landrieu's relative social conservatism, which could cause problems in the minority votes, not the least of which being the black vote. But then again, if not the Farmers, who
would win the black vote?
Senator James Webb of Virginia
Although he couldn't clinch the nomination this time, some still think James Webb would make an excellent Vice President. Webb is certainly unique in that he's a Farmers Party Senator from the infamously conservative Virginia, and could lock down the Dominion State, which hasn't voted for a Farmers candidate in its history. He also brings a hard-hitting and straight-talking persona which might contrast well with Gore.
But as mentioned before, Webb walks a fine line between a fighter and a strongman. His previous Vice Presidency may also have him being seen as damaged goods. Even Webb himself seems less than enthusiastic about being the Vice Presidential nominee another time, despite his endorsement of Gore.
Governor Dexter King of Georgia
An unorthodox choice would be to choose the highly controversial, newly-minted Governor of Georgia, Dexter King. The son of the former revolutionary leader Martin Luther King Jr., who is infamous for his leadership role in the New Afrika Insurrection in the 60s, King ascended to the Governorship of his native Georgia in what was termed "The Savannah Miracle," becoming the Confederacy's first-ever black Governor, even amidst cries that King cheated somehow. King has many times over denounced his father's violent actions back in the 60s, and did attend and speak at the 50th anniversary of the Centennial Incident. He makes for a very "high risk, high reward" choice for the Vice Presidency, guaranteeing the black vote nationwide and possibly sealing the deal in Georgia, if the Farmers are lucky.
But, even looking past his controversial arrival to the office of Governor and his family, King has a few problems. First, and perhaps foremost, is that he's only just become Governor, and has held no prior political office. He was formerly the President of a non-profit, but his actions as President were suspect, slashing the staff to bare minimum at a bad time and having a falling-out with even his own family over the matter. And even looking past that, the disastrous 1994 election, the last time the Farmers ran a black Vice Presidential candidate, is still in the back of the Party's minds. Gore himself is even nervous about the prospect of having the controversial Governor on his ticket.
Fmr. Secretary of State for Internal Affairs Hodding Carter III of North Carolina
A Vice Presidential option that has a surprising amount of support is that of another former Carter cabinet member, alongside James Webb. Hodding Carter III (no relation to the former President Carter) has been President of a non-profit committed to the arts and journalism since 1998, but has reentered politics at the request of Webb. In general, Carter appeals to old Farmers who have since voted for the Populists and Dixiecrats, and they might come back to the fold with a former Carter cabinet member. He could also appeal to both Florida and North Carolina which, when put together with the expected Farmer victories in the Deep South, would make the election a slam dunk.
But Carter is an unexciting choice. For one thing, he's been out of politics for over 20 years now. And even if that weren't the case, he's getting rather long in the tooth at the age of 77. And if he can't help carry North Carolina or Florida, then he does little else. He's also not particularly interested in the Vice Presidency, having only put his name forward because an old friend, James Webb, asked him to.
John Wolfe Jr. of Tennessee
A relative unknown candidate from Tennessee, businessman (and perennial political candidate) John Wolfe Jr. could potentially appeal to the pro-business wing of the Farmers which, although few in number, are not exactly thrilled at Gore's nomination. His appeal is mostly on the economic front, pushing for the use of antitrust laws and having the national Treasury department sponsor an "alternate" Treasury Reserve to loan out money to small businesses and individuals, arguing that the current system only benefits the major banks. He enjoys a small but noticeable degree of popularity in Missouri and Louisiana as well, and if Missouri can be turned green, that would be a large win.
But Wolfe would have the Farmers putting all their eggs in the Tennessee basket, and there's not much reason to do so. Wolfe is also well to the left of Party orthodoxy, going so far as to push for national government-sponsored single-payer healthcare, the constitutionality of which is... debatable at the
very best. Wolfe and Gore are also rumored to really dislike each-other, and it's imperative that the Farmers put forward a united front to win.
The options have been presented, the candidates have made their speeches, who will Al Gore be campaigning with this election season?
