Hi, I’m new to this sub and I’m kind of nervous to post this. But here we go. I’m a 21-year-old female with a boyfriend, the same age as me. (1.5 years together) A little backstory, I have struggled with anxiety for years now. When I met my boyfriend, I was in a terrible place and he didn’t know that I was struggling because I kept masking it as best as I could. We talked and talked for weeks until we started dating. We got really close. My anxiety started getting a little better because of him. He has a lot of motivation for doing better in life and striving for the best always. I really admire him for that. I want to be like that too. He is slowly teaching me! And I love it. The only problem is, when we are not together that motivation is not there. The anxiety is present. My mood is low and I just get sad. When I am with him, I am excited for life and excited to do new things and go new places and meet his friends from other states, and so on so forth. That moment he drops me off at home, I get that pit in my chest like…I’m alone now. Then I start to have some anxiety. I have never told him this, and I don’t plan on it. We never get tired of being with each other but I just don’t want to be dependent on him for happiness even when he doesn’t know it. I even hate saying it like that. Now it’s not to the point where I can’t go to work or do my college classes. But it’s pretty bad. I just wake up everyday anxious and nervous and wonder when the next time we are going to be next to each other. We hang out a lot so I know it would be soon it’s just I can’t wait. Sometimes I can even stop looking at the clock. Anyways, I just need help to be a little more independent. I am tired of feeling this way. It’s not fair to me or to him. Even if he doesn’t know how I feel.

My 5th-grade daughter, who has ADHD and Dyslexia, keeps asking if she can be placed in honors classes next year. She struggles in school, hates doing homework, and has meltdowns regarding schoolwork regularly. Some of her best friends are super high-achieving girls, and her older brother is in honors. If I had to guess, she is just looking to fit in but, in reality, has no interest in the extra stress and work that would come with honors classes. She would need her current teacher's recommendation to get placed in the honors program, which I know she would not get (we have talked about it). I have tried to be the fall guy and tell her that I don't want her to be in honors and that she should start middle school in regular classes and see how it goes. I suggested that if she finds it too easy, she can move up the following year. However, she is distraught and accuses me of thinking she is stupid. She keeps asking, "what if Ms (current teacher) says I can do it"? Again I know her current teacher would not make that recommendation, but I don't want to say that to her. My daughter is fully aware that school is harder for her than others. She sees how other kids breeze through certain assignments, whereas she struggles, so I am really baffled why she keeps bringing this up. And it is not that I don't believe in her it is just that her talents are elsewhere. I am tired of having this conversation, and I don't know what to say to her to make her understand without destroying her self-esteem. I am sure I have already screwed this up. How would you handle it? What can I say?

 | I first started playing Diablo in 2000, when Diablo 2 was first released. I didn't have the pleasure of being introduced to the game before that. I am someone who enjoyed both D2 and D3. Each game had it's pros and cons, but what they both did they did pretty well. submitted by DaddySanctus to diablo4 [link] [comments] Playing the Beta this weekend was my first hands on experience with Diablo 4, and I was excited to try it to say the least. Here are some of my experiences / thoughts on the game. \* Good / Positives*\** Atmosphere / Art: I was concerned about the darker atmosphere at first when watching early footage of the game, but it actually felt really nice and looked great. I enjoyed the darker theme and thought the maps were very cool looking with the various details. It really sucks you into the game and makes you feel like you're in this hellhole of Sanctuary. Combat: The combat feels great, plain and simple. The skills both looked cool and felt good to use. I tried out a variety of skills amongst all 3 classes, and while some certainly felt stronger than others, I enjoyed them all none the less. Skills like the Rogue Puncture Shot w/ Shadow Imbue, or the Sorceress Frost Nova + Ice Shards, the Barbs Upheaval. The pacing of combat felt good too, it wasn't too fast or too slow. Sometimes getting nice procs with your skills would wipe a large pack quickly which was satisfying, but other times you struggled against certain bosses or Elites, or groups of Elites. Storyline: The stroyline so far and the voice acting and cutscenes that went with it, kept me hungering for more. I really enjoyed all the voice acting so far that we've seen and the few cutscenes we had. I listened to every bit of dialogue I could, and the world of Sanctuary felt alive with misery. Primary Stats / Affixes: I like that the Primary stats Strength / Intelligence / Dexterity / Willpower changed slightly based on the class you picked. For example, playing as a Sorceress, the Intelligence stat would increase my Skill Damage and Resistances. However, if I was playing as a Rogue, my Intelligence would increase my Crit Chance and Resistances, while Dexterity increased Skill Damage and Dodge Chance. The Affixes on items felt much more simplified than D3, there were far less stats that could roll which I have mixed feelings on. While I do feel D3 had some bloated stats like extra damage to Elites & Life Regen Per Second, I am slightly concerned they went too far in the simplification of Affixes. Random Events / Zone Events: I really enjoyed the random events that were around the map, there was a decent enough variety of them and I'm sure more will be added in the future. I only had the chance to complete the "Gathering the Legion" event once, but that was by far my favorite. Boss Fights / World Boss: I liked both the World Boss and the Boss Fights. The various mechanics the bosses had was appealing, and I could see them introducing harder and more complicated bosses in the future with more Lost Ark style mechanics. I think the bosses in Lost Ark were pretty cool. Some were overly complicated, which I don't think Diablo would get to that point, but having some complexity & mechanics in the fights wouldn't be a bad thing. Potion System: Plain and simple I like the potion system of D4. It didn't feel like I was having to constantly search for / collect / craft potions like I did in D2, but it also didn't feel like somewhat of an afterthought like it does in D3. It was a nice balance between the two and I appreciated being able to spam heals, while also needing to keep an eye on the number of potions I had available. Rare Items: One of the best changes I've seen is the fact that Rare items can give +Skills now. That (I hope) will be a big game changer down the road allowing for some really powerful or custom builds, and also giving people a reason to pay attention to what they're collecting and salvaging. It also makes the trading aspect more interesting as well. Character Panel I actually really liked how the Character Panel turned out in the game. I think it was clean and easy to navigate and the Character themselves looked great in the preview. I didn't find things hard to navigate and it felt pretty intuitive where to go to find what I needed. Map Quest Journal Sidequest Journal Codex of Power Challenges Region Progress Social Tab Skill Tree **Issues / Complaints\\** Invisible Walls Playing the Rogue as a ranged build felt rough at times, as your Arrows would get stuck on various invisible barriers fairly frequently. There were also some issues leaving / entering Kyovashad at times, which I think are just bugs that will get worked out. Arrows colliding with invisible wall In-Game Fonts The Ariel style text for in-game drops and dialogue / audio logs felt off. It didn't seem to really match the theme of the game. Example of Text Example of Text There were various fonts that were used in the game, and some others such as the Quest Title Font would have made a better match for in-game drops & dialogue. Quest Name Font - Much more Diablo themed Font when viewing gear didn't seem as out of place. Was easy to read (I could have made it a smaller font too) Skill Tree: I had some concerns that the skill tree may be lacking for building truly customized characters at end-game. As I progressed and unlocked more Aspects, I was able to play around with my build and try new things. I would, however, like to see maybe 1-2 more of the secondary choices after choosing a main Basic / Core etc skill, similar to the Rune's of D3. Again, this is something that could work itself out in the long run with discovering more aspects and tailoring our builds more. Dungeons: While I liked the dungeons, I would have really liked to see more random events in those dungeons. Maybe rare elites that spawned in similar to The Butcher, or zone events within the dungeons to add some variety. The layouts of the dungeons themselves felt slightly too streamlined. I would like to see more open areas and not so many connecting corridors. Example of Dungeon Layout Dungeon Complete / Event UI: When completing dungeons and events, the banners at the top of the screen could be scaled down. They take up quite a bit of space along the top of the screen. The audio books also take up a large portion of the screen with text at the bottom of the screen and could be scaled down a bit. Ultimate Skill Slot: Can we get a dedicated key or slot for Ultimate Skills? Please? Especially with the +skills from Rares, it's easy to have way more than 6 skills available at a time. With such a long cooldown, having the Ultimate on it's own skill slot would be a nice QoL improvement. Gem Tab: We are once again asking for a gem tab. There's clearly enough UI space in the inventory for one, and it would free up quite a few slots when running dungeons and questing. Zoom / Camera Perspective: I think the camera zoom could be bumped out slightly. Maybe just a smidge, like 10% even. Normal Camera Zoom Normal Camera Zoom Zoomed Out I would like to see a balance of these two zooms, somewhere in the middle of the two. Giving us just slightly more area to see while running dungeons and exploring the world. \*Final Thoughts*\** I had a ton of fun this beta. While I think there are definitely areas of improvement needed with the game, I feel the game will be successful and be a ton of fun to play. While some may not like the MMO aspects of the game, I know it opens the door for a much larger variety of content that what Diablo has ever had before. I am eagerly waiting for June to arrive so we can finally delve deep into Sanctuary. |

I'm a full-time school teacher and I've been doing both reformer and mat pilates multiple times a year for about 3 years now so I feel very comfortable with it! I am interested in getting certified bc I love pilates and I love teaching so it seems like a natural fit for me.
Ideally, I'd of course like to make some additional income from teaching Pilates. However, I know getting an in-person comprehensive reformer certification is the best investment in terms of being hirable at well-paying studios, and unfortunately I simply can't afford to get that kind of certification. The max I can afford to put into getting certified is probably $2000ish USD.
If I can't make a lot of money off of Pilates, I think it'd be fun to at least get some sort of certification so I can teach pay-what-you-can mat pilates classes at the beach or park and stuff like that. (I'm 25 and I know a lot of people who would love to come to that kind of thing!)
I saw an ad on FB for Barre Body's (based in Australia) mat Pilates training. It's a 150-hr comprehensive mat pilates certification for about $1200 USD, which is affordable to me. It's fully online, which I know will likely make it so I'm not very hirable at studios but could probably still teach independent classes at the park?
If you were in my situation, what would you advise? is it a total waste of money to get that online Barre Body certification in mat pilates? Should I wait until I can afford a "real" certification? is there anything that I'm completely overlooking? Thanks so much in advance!!

Omg I hate my self so much.I’m a 15y f and I swear I am the most antisocial person ever. I have begged my dad to let me clubs outside of school for years now ( and I mean I have constantly asked and every time I did I would break down into tears but he still wouldn’t listen ) I wanted to do clubs as I think that it would help me get better at communication. He finally let me do Muay Thai classes recently but I still can’t communicate with people and I find it so hard to start conversations. I also have a resting bitch face (especially when I workout )so I don’t look very approachable.
At school it’s very hard for me to talk to people outside of my group of 9 friends (I barely ever talk to 4 of them ) and in my school the year group is separated into very distinct friend groups so if you try to talk to anyone else they think your annoying and then just talk shit about you behind your back. Pretty privilege is crazy. I am pretty ugly (I have wavy hair and I binge eat so I have acne and have fat legs) but these things are pretty easy to change all I need to do is to straighten my hair ,eat healthy and lose 6 kg but I don’t know what’s wrong with me ,I literally can’t stick to any diet . And if I diet and eat well for 1 day then I would binge/overeat the next . I tried to talk to my parents about it but they just tell me its all about discipline and that I need to control myself (but it’s not like I enjoy the guilt I feel after a binge) . I think the reason I’m like this is because I am an all or nothing type of person. I think I’m trapped in this loop of hating myself and researching what to do (ex: searching up diet plans, how to be social, how to be confident and watching self improvement vids) then I do it for a week then I feel the same as a result I binge and start over thinking again then I start hating myself them the cycle repeats.
I also have this really irrational fear of strangers(especially men)like is someone walks behind me then I just freeze up and get really paranoid. Even at school (I m always walking with my friends) when I go to fill my water bottle alone I start to over think things and find myself having to control my breathing, I always end up walking really fast and overthinking that as well. I know it’s dumb and I knew no one cares, but the only word I can use to describe it is that I feel very anxious and I can’t control it .So I don’t know what to do. I told my best friend about this and she said it’s normal and every teenager feels like this, I think she’s only say it to comfort me.
Please can you help and give advice if you have felt like this before cause I don’t know what to do .

- Apply stimulants. Caffeine, addy, whatever you've got. Not too much, just enough to sharpen you up.
- Curse the day you decided law school was a good idea.
- Most of your professors will give you at least 1 model answer to a previous year's final. Review these carefully. The gunner who wrote that model answer wrote it in either IRAC or CRAC format. Isolate the rule and see how it is applied to the fact pattern in the exam. This might not come easily to you since IRAC and CRAC will be new to you, but just pay attention to how the rules are applied. Pay extra attention if the gunner ID's a place where the rule could go either way. That will teach you the nuances of the rule. Honestly if your professor offers model answers I'd read them ASAP. It's a decent crash course on the whole class, and it even gives you an idea of what writing style your professor likes. If no model answers are available for your particular professor try to get other model answers for that class from upperclassmen, affinity group databanks, etc. The fact is that 1L classes are all basically the same so an A exam for one professor should still be an A exam for another. In theory. Assuming your professor actually graded instead of using RNG. When you go through the model answers, write out the rules by hand. It will help you recall them on test day.
- Use Barbri's free 1L courses and Quimbee's courses. Some of the gunners can raw dog law school and not use Barbri and Quimbee, but if you're still reading, that ain't you. The guys who teach these classes are actually paid for their ability to teach the fucking class, as opposed to your regular professors, who are usually paid based on how many rainforests their law review articles wipe out. Listen on 2x speed if that's your thing. TBH listening to the Barbri or Quimbee class on a topic before you get to that topic in class is probably best practice, but let's be honest, that probably isn't you if you're still reading this.
- Get an old outline. Your school's affinity groups and such will have outline banks filled with 1L outlines. A lot of people act like this is the law school cheat code, but I disagree. For one thing, many outlines are basically written in hieroglyphic shorthand. For another, going back and forth between your outline and exam is time consuming. IMO the best use of an old outline is for a quick reference on cases you can cite in support of the rule application you write on the exam. Comb through the model answer and go through the Barbri or Quimbee class first so you have a working familiarity with the class's topics, then use the outline to ID the specific cases your class went through.
- Pray that the curve is in your favor and swear that you'll totally change your habits next semester.

At the time I was a 15yo Female and I had a boyfriend (16yo male) and we had a friend in common. (16 yo female) and she was my best friend. I was with my boyfriend for a year coming up. We started dating while I was in year 9 and he was in year 10. We went to the same school together. Our best friend had a boyfriend at the time so I didn’t think anything weird about their friendship. Until one day me and my boyfriend got into an argument about him forgetting our anniversary day. He wasn’t a very good boyfriend but I loved him. Our best friend was helping me through it and she helped me make the decision to break up with him until he was more mature and realised how to be in a relationship. So I broke up with him, we are not back together to this present day because of what happened. I was still struggling with the breakup and hardly payed attention in school. 2 weeks after we broke up I found out he started to have feelings for our best friend, she talked to me about it and told me she would never hurt me like that. Until a month later I got into a relationship with my new boyfriend (15yo male) he didn’t go to our school but he was very supportive and an actual good boyfriend. My best friend started to become good friends with him. I didn’t think nothing of it since her and her boyfriend recently broke up and she was still upset about it. One night I was on call with my boyfriend since we used to do calls where we’d sleep on call. Apparently she was texting him while we were on call and was flirting with him. I asked him to send me proof of this and he did. The messages said “you’re such a cutie” she was saying stuff like “I wish you could cuddle me” etc. then she added his Snapchat and started to send him snaps that made him very uncomfortable. So I messaged her about the situation and told her to stop texting my boyfriend because she was making him very uncomfortable. She got very mad and said I wasn’t treating him right and that I was messing with his feelings which really annoyed me. We didn’t talk for a few weeks and then I found out through one of our friends that she has started dating someone I didn’t know who it was until one of our best friends said the name. It was my ex boyfriend who I broke up with because he wasn’t mature. I felt very betrayed and it hurt me mentally. She was my best friend of 4 years at that time. I confronted her about it and she denied the whole thing but I saw my ex after school and I asked him about it and he admitted that they are dating. I can’t believe that she would lie to me about it. She started calling me names to people in class and so I called her one back remember ONE name. She came up to me after school and said “I’m going to kill you” and started to punch me and gave me a bloody nose. She turned the whole situation in me saying it was my fault for moving on too quickly and now I don’t know how to feel. AITA?

- Speakers: Vanatoo Transparent Zero
- Comes with original box and remote, plus all original cables. You can find reviews online, these are pretty much best in-class. Although they're primarily advertised as desktop speakers, I've been using them for my living room with my TV, and they're awesome! Excellent condition (purchased in August 2021). I'll also throw in a pair of foam panels that you may optionally place the speakers on to prevent vibrations on some surfaces.
- Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW10 10" Powered Subwoofer
- No box, but original cable is included along with extra cable to connect to ^ speakers. Dimensions: 14"W x 14.38"H x 16.13"D. Weight is ~25 lbs. Excellent condition (purchased in March 2022).

so… i have been thinking about it for a few days and i think i might have to go to community college and then transfer to a 4 year university but i’m getting sad just thinking about all the experiences i’m going to miss: what if when i transfer i can’t find a group of friends since everyone already knows each other and i’m just ~the new girl~? will i even get to have the “college/young adult experience”? will i even get accepted to ANY university later, let alone a good one? how the frick can i assure universities to accept me when the transfer rate is minuscule? should i just suck it up and go to one of the universities that already accepted me even though i don’t have any money saved and they’re like my 4 and 5 choice? i know that going to community college is the best option (bc it’s 100% cheaper + my top choices didn’t accept me -probably bc of me taking most of my hs classes outside us-) but i kinda want to throw up just thinking about the implications and obstacles i’m gonna face latter if i go to one; anyway, if someone here is also going to cc or went to one and transferred successfully please give some advice or reassuring words (and if you’re not in any of those 2 situations but still have some advice i’d really appreciate it)

I'd prefer new, in case I want to return it. How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Build quality and performance are very important. I don't need best in class but I'd want something that feels premium/quality and well-made and performs well. Decent battery life would be nice, but I won't be using it all day when I'm not at home. How important is weight and thinness to you? I'd prefer it wasn't unreasonably heavy or thick, but it's not a big concern. Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 14" - 16" Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I use Pro Tools and Ableton Live quite frequently. I play games mostly on PS5 but I'd like to be able to play Xbox/PC games, but mostly I'll be playing lighter stuff like Stardew Valley. If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play?
