2023.03.20 21:08 vnottd Anyone else been a little disappointed lately?….
Kinda scared to post this because I know it has the potential to cause a little too much controversy. Does anyone else feel like the writing for this manga is getting a little bit… worse?
I remember when the Shibuya arc was being released I was so impressed by the pacing of that entire series of events. It played out pretty much flawlessly. I can still give a chronological order of everything that happened in Shibuya. I don’t think this was because that part of the manga was predicable at all, just much easier to follow due to the flow of both information characters were receiving and the general order of events. The culling games arc hasn’t been like that at all, and I’m talking about the rules of the actual event in the series being difficult to follow. I can’t tell you the order of anything that’s happened in the last 40 or so chapters, just that those events took place.
And then there’s the latest chapter. Why would Sukuna have to kill the curse in Tsumiki with Megumi’s cursed technique? How would that break him emotionally any more/less then her being killed with his body with Sukuna’s domain? This feels like a cheap way to put a random power cap on Sukuna that doesn’t really make any sense at all but is being used to justify not revealing his true strength until when the author sees it fit.
I still really like this manga and I think it’s incredible. I would be lying though if I didn’t say there’s been some aspects of it which have kinda disappointing to me at least lately. I read AoT as it was being released starting when the very first few episodes of the anime were airing and I never remember really feeling this way about the writing that entire time. I am really curious to see what you all think though or if there’s other things you’ve noticed too.

2023.03.20 21:06 Jajalitho I created this poster based around J.I.D and added two alt versions for iphone 14 pro wallpaper. (heavily inspired by: KOZMIK DESIGN's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke9AswrXsLo) (assets bought from https://kozmik.gumroad.com/l).
2023.03.20 21:06 Valuable-Banana96 I finally finished a complete draft of my Oath of Greed paladin. A warrior so covetous they can smite in the name of the allmighty dollar. Thoughts?
Oath of Greed
Paladins of the Oath of Greed literally only want one thing and it’s disgusting. Their avarice is so great that it is the very source of their powers, allowing them to smite in the name of the almighty dollar. They can be anything from wealthy moguls without a scrap of conscience, to simply particularly grabby adventurers in it for the loot.
Tenets of Greed
The tenets of the Oath of Greed give important advice anyone seeking to make a living in the world should heed.
- Take risks. The riskier the road, the greater the profit.
- Opportunism. If you see an opening, take it.
- Adapt to new situations. Peace is good for business, but so is war.
- Bail when you need to. Continuing on a futile task because of sunk costs will only lead to further sunk costs.
Oath Spells
You gain Oath spells at the Paladin levels listed.
Paladin Lv3:
Protection from Evil and Good, Unseen Servant Paladin Lv5:
Gift of Gab (Ac. Inc.), Jim’s Glowing Coin (Ac. Inc.) Paladin Lv9:
Incite Greed (Ac. Inc.), Motivational Speech (Ac. Inc.) Paladin Lv13:
Leomund’s Secret Chest, Control Water (geddit?) Paladin Lv17:
Infernal Calling, Bigby’s Hand Channel Divinity
When you take this Sacred Oath at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Sleight of Hand (or, if you already have it, one other skill of your choice), as well as the following two Channel Divinity options.
Hostile Takeover. As an action, you point with a free hand to a creature within 60ft and attempt to magically steal an item it is wearing or carrying that you can see. You make a Charisma (Sleight of Hand) check contested by a Strength saving throw made by the target, which has advantage on the roll if the item is magical. If you succeed, the object is ripped from their body and flies directly into your hand. If the object is nonmagical you may then magically transform it into money of equivalent value, which is then transferred directly to your inventory, if you wish. This version of Channel Divinity cannot be used on an object that would need to be disassembled or unfastened in some way to be removed from the target, such as armor or laced shoes.
Business Accumen. As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to augment your ability to make profit. For the next 10 minutes, you have advantage on Persuasion and Deception checks; automatically know the value and quality of any and all common goods at first glance and can tell if any currency/coinage/money in sight is counterfeit.
Resource Reallocation
Starting at 7th level, Whenever an enemy starts it’s turn within 10ft of you, it takes 1 force damage. You then start your next turn with a number of temp hp equal to the total force damage you have dealt this way since your last turn.
The range of this aura increases to 30ft at 18th level.
Executive Bonus
Starting at 15th level, you have an additional number of attunement slots equal to half your charisma modifier, can attune or unattune to a given magic item as an action, and have a +1 bonus to initiative rolls for every magic item you are currently attuned to.
El Dorado
Starting at 20th level, your all-consuming avarice and skill at acquisition transcend all bounds. You can use your action to turn your skin and armor the shining color of gold and gain the following benefits for 1 hour:
- Your carrying capacity has no upper limit
- Your arms lengthen, extending your reach by 5ft
- You have advantage on all Charisma checks.
- You score a critical hit on a 20 roll of 19 or 20.
- Whenever you score a critical hit, the target must pass a Charisma save or take additional force damage equal to a number of d10s equal to your Cha mod. A creature killed by this effect is petrified into solid silver.

2023.03.20 21:06 PerpetualExhaustion6 Thoughts on Using Symlinks vs Powershell for Syncing Local Folders?
Hello all!
I am still relatively new to Powershell- I used it before for something specific a few years ago, and have finally brought it out again last week. Therefore, it is possible my ways of doing things might not be the most streamlined, and I was hoping to get some takes from people who are more familiar with computers and script making.
So, my problem is that I hate the way that OneDrive makes it so you have home any folder or file you want to sync into its own special little OneDrive folder. It irks me to no end. So, after some googling, I found out about Symlinks. A lot of people said that there were some issues with Symlinks not actually working with OneDrive, but I set it up to link my Downloads folder with OneDrive, and it seemed to work pretty well- no missing files or problems with subfolders not being populated. However, I realised two things- 1. that I would perpetually have a little "syncing in progress" icon on the symlinked folders/files, which by itself is annoying but I think it's a sacrifice I could make given the benefit I was getting from the symlinks; what I really didn't like though was 2. OneDrive would not automatically register any new folders or files added to the symlink directory, in that it would appear in the OneDrive folder, but would not immediately sync it to the cloud. OneDrive sync would have to be manually rebooted in order for anything new to be uploaded.
To combat this, I learned how to make a PowerShell script that would stop and immediately restart OneDrive anytime something in my Downloads folder was changed, added, deleted, or renamed. What i'm now thinking, though, is wouldn't it just be better to have a PowerShell script that will immediately add/delete/replace any file or folder that gets changed in my local directory, to the One Drive folder, and vice-versa? Essentially mimicking the symlink function, but without the issue of the non-syncing? Or will this create a paradox where, when something changes in the local folder and is then changed in the OneDrive folder, the script then tries to change the local folder again? Is the way I currently have it set up the most efficient?
Note, I do know that the sync issue, and the perpetual sync icon, is fixed if I make my OneDrive folder the "original"/target folder, However, you're unable to set up such a thing for directories like Downloads, unless you move your download path to a new folder, and the whole point of this is that I don't what to mess with the system I already have in place for things and move everything to a new folder. Additionally, I really don't like the idea of not having my files on a my own hard-drive; if something happens to OneDrive and it loses my files, they'll then be gone forever because I don't have my own copies of them, just imitations.
Anyway, what are your guys' thoughts here? Should I change to having a script do it all, or stick with my current work-around? Thanks in advance :)

2023.03.20 21:04 svdrecbd What are good career options for "fixer" personality types?
Hello!
I'll try to keep this concise but since I'm not entirely sure how to properly word this, please bear with me. Currently, I'm in construction as a freelance concrete framefinisher and while it's a steady gig, It's not something that I would consider a "dream" scenario to be in. While the money is good I've seen the effects of what this kind of work does to people over time and I'd rather get out sooner than later before something permanent begins to happen to me.
While reflecting on what I would like to do I realized that I've always been the "fixer" for friends, family, coworkers, etc... working on the logistics behind the scenes to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Anytime a group of people are traveling somewhere I'm always the one making arrangements for tickets, hotel, visas/passports, and even plan most of the agenda once we've arrived.
Is a tool broken and the only instructions on how to fix it are in Korean? Sounds like something I would be tasked with resolving.
Need to ship a $250K dollar CNC machine across state lines by the weekend? I have 3 reputable hotshot trucking providers ready to go at the drop of a hat.
It's a position born out of necessity (since most people would rather throw whatever problem they have at me instead of figuring it out themselves) but after a while, I realized that I thrive in these environments and I live for weird out-of-the-box problem-solving.
The purpose of this post isn't to gloat about how much people rely on me or whatever but to display this strange feeling of purpose that I feel when I complete these sorts of tasks and what sort of work I should be looking for if I were to pursue this feeling further.
Before everyone goes and recommends getting a degree, I don't function well in a school environment. I graduated HS at the height of COVID and if it taught me anything was that I am absolutely not cut out for classroom learning.
I can power through a class and I even excelled in STEM-related honors/IB classes but it will cost me mentally and physically far more than any normal person should reasonably go through and I'm willing to admit that. If it's unavoidable I'm open to getting an associate's degree but a full 4-year feels too out of reach for me.
Money isn't a massive concern for me but hopefully, I wouldn't be working for peanuts. Aside from that, I'm open to everything.
Thanks in advance!

2023.03.20 21:03 Right-Garden466 exposed my sisters relationship to my parents
Two nights ago, my sister told me that her boyfriend will hang out with us and she will let me know the time. I put my alarm at 5pm just in case because that's usually when we meet.
Yesterday morning, still no reply from my sister so I just go on with my day and continue with my classes. After class, I unintentionally fell asleep (around 1pm) and woke up to my alarm at 5pm. I wake up to angry texts from my sister (who still didn't give me a time) yelling at me for not being active on my phone. I told her I slept accidentally and she didn't give me a time so I couldn't put an earlier alarm. She said I should've reminded her but I asked her why would she expect that from me. Then she just keeps repeating herself in a very demeaning way. I really felt like she was attacking me with how much she blamed me. She brings up how she doesn't want to see me anymore like how my dad doesn't want to see me. my dad recently had a leg surgery and i facetimed him and always ask if he's doing better but i didn't visit because that house literally haunts me (im in a foster home bc of that environment + family issues). i had a huge meltdown. i told her that i couldn't believe she would use that against me after all that i confided in her about my trauma. then she disregards that completely, continues to blame me for a "lack of communication" so I block her.
Today morning, my mom asked me about what happened and why my sister didn't come to see me. i told her everything. she basically said its both our faults. later she said shes glad my sister finally has a bf
Today night, i messaged her boyfriend a short message about how yesterday, my sister and i got into a fight and i apologize that i exposed their relationship. he later tells me that i shouldve just said sorry to her and been empathetic to her. that she mustve felt like she was the only one communicating because she was organizing it. and that i took it too far by exposing them because it feels like i just did that to prove a point. then i tell him the following:
- I did my best based on the lack of info i had and put an alarm at 5pm
- i can't be sorry for something i'm not aware of; i can't be sorry for an expectation i didn't know was put on me (expectation to remind her)
- why should i care about not exposing my sister when she was explosively attacking me (not first time either) and emotionally manipulated me (with the dad comment) just to make me feel bad? i don't need to respect her wishes if she doesn't respect my humanity. respect is a two way street.
- how am i suppose to be empathetic when she is being so explosive and attacking me with blames? fight is a trauma response and the only thing i did in that moment was defend myself. i could've been empathetic if she communicated better, but she didn't so i communicated accordingly
- she took the responsibility of letting me know when he will be available. I did not FORCE her to do that. that does NOT require my input, she did NOT ask for my input, and i am not a mind reader to tell if she WANTS a reminder.
My dad doesn't really have a stance, but he is hoping we forgive each other and make up. my friend validated me and said that its unreasonable for me to always be on my phone and shift my schedule according to her last minute texts. my children's aid worker said how its really toxic of how explosive and verbally aggressive she becomes over smaller issues that can be communicated better. my counsellor is not free to talk yet
i'm just really tired over this situation. but i also feel a lot of hurt and shame. it hurts my sister would bring up my dad's comment for no other reason than to actually hurt me (because the convo had nothing to do with him). and she has been explosive and verbally aggressive in the past fights i had with her and i told her that i'm not ok with her doing that to me, especially when i didn't do anything wrong. i hate how when she acts like this, i feel so small and voiceless like i did when i was a kid. i hate how i feel like im screaming for someone to understand me but no one is hearing me. and i do feel bad that i exposed her relationship but also i don't owe it to myself to cover what happened to my mom when i've been so belittled and disrespected. it's always "well she wouldn't have done that to" but never considering everything else she did to me that lead me to "snitch" on her. yes it is her boyfriend calling me a snitch
im unable to see my mom or receive groceries atm because my sister is the one with a car to help me with all those things. im always grateful for those things she does to me. but i really hate how it feels like shes just flexing her power because whenever we're in a fight, she won't come for a week or two until i apologize, and i wouldn't be able to see my mom or have food. thankfully my cas worker is helping me with getting to a food bank so i dont have to rely on my sister anymore. i will just be very active on facetime for the time being to stay connected with my parents
if it is fine, i am also wondering if this situation makes me the ass-hole because i'm getting very mixed messages

2023.03.20 21:01 FewFly2 Something we can do at Dana Point & Or Orange Institute
So I have been thinking about famous locations. Which brought me back to how Spongebob was influenced. I remembered the history of how he created the comic book. Stephen wrote The Intertidal Zone, an informative picture book about tide-pool animals. In 1984 instructing marine biology at the Orange County Marine Institute. That is where he wrote it. Technically making the birthplace of Spongebob currently called ‘Ocean Institute’ and in Dana Point, CA. Now ive seen over the years, they’ve slightly acknowledged it with having displays of real sea animals from the show way back in 2010. Than in 2015 they acknowledge it on Social Media. Than in 2022 I guess they partnered with some clothing company. However I feel like their should be something permanent like a small dedicated thing to him at the Institute. Im surprised they don’t really take advantage of having one of the most popular cartoons ever be created their. I mean im not saying have a full blown store like Ashdown Forest like Winnie The Pooh (all though that place is cute and nice and I definitely wanna go someday) I think it would be cool to have something at the ocean institute for SpongeBob and Stephens memory. I was thinking maybe they could have the SpongeBob puppets (the ones Nickelodeon uses recently and maybe send some animation cells and memorabilia) and honestly Dana point looks like a really cool city on its own. There’s lots of boats there’s lots of seafood restaurants. Dana point is more of like a vacation town where you mostly go walking a majority the time and you look at the views like there’s lots of beaches. You guys can go to near the ocean and see some of them are really cool and you guys can actually find tidepools and you guys can see starfish and all that stuff and you can think yourself. This is what Stephen saw that inspired him when he was making SpongeBob and I think that’s really cool and kind of underrated how no one has really been here to kind of take advantage of that. Really the only thing mentioned in this Reddit about the ocean Institute in Dana Point was some meme about a guy dressing like the villain for the 2004 movie in front of the building. But I think it’s been long enough now 20+ years too long and I think the city and or Institute should really do something like partner up with nickelodeon and Paramount and really do something nice because I think the team would really love to do something I think we as fans would love to see something cool like a memorabilia or something like that to where the birthplace of SpongeBob was that because stuff on Dana Pint doesn’t really acknowledge it on any website or anything like that. it’s literally just mentioned in all these fun facts things that Stephen would be involved with like a spongebob book published by nickelodeon at the bookstore maybe or just online on these fun fact websites and they just mention the institute and not where it’s at or anything like that. So what do yall think? Could we get something going?
