Check out part 1 for context
The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 1 (Overview and The Gods) : worldbuilding (reddit.com) There are 5 connected Kingdoms that have Tonpa as their main religion these are.
Jangshun A Place of snow-capped Mountains and green Valleys, said to be built upon the ruins of the ancient Jungar people who controlled much of the area of Jangshun and the nearby kingdoms of Monyul and Taishigang.
Very little is known about the Jungar, their ruins are scattered throughout the landscape of Jangshun, and are often characterized by simple stone structures, pottery shards, and other artifacts. Based on these remains, it is believed that the Jungar were a relatively simple society, with a lifestyle that revolved around farming, herding, and other basic activities.
Despite their lack of sophistication, the Jugar are an important part of the history and culture of the region many myths and legends have grown up around them, the people of Jangshun often see the Jungar as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the region, and take pride in the fact that they were able to survive and thrive in a harsh and unforgiving environment. In addition to their physical remains, the Jungar have left a lasting impact on the people of Jangshun in other ways. Their language, customs, and traditions are thought to have influenced the culture of the later kingdom, and many people still feel a strong connection to the Jagun and their way of life.
The Capital of Jangshun is called Druktse, founded by Dragon Priests and the legendary Namgyal dynasty the city is known for its unique architecture, with buildings made of wood and stone, intricately carved and painted with colorful designs and motifs, the streets are narrow and winding, with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze and the sound of temple bells ringing in the air.
At the center of the city is the Royal Palace of Jigme Wangchuk, a majestic building that serves as the residence of the Royal Family, the palace consists of several wings and halls, each with its own specific function. The main hall is the center of political and ceremonial activities, where the king held court and received important guests. The royal family's private quarters were located in a separate wing, with opulent living spaces and lavish decorations.
One of the most impressive features of the palace is the Eagle Tower, a tall structure that houses the elite Eagle Guards, who were responsible for the king's security the tower is covered from top to bottom with intricate carvings of the bird of prey.
The palace is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, and it is guarded by soldiers in traditional Eagle attire, the Eagle Guards of the palace of Jingme Wangchuk are an elite group of soldiers tasked with protecting the king and the royal family, known for their fearsome reputation and exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards are considered one of the most prestigious units in the Jangshun army.
The guards are named after the majestic eagles that inhabit the mountainous regions of Jangshun, and they were trained to emulate the hunting tactics of these birds of prey. They are adept at using the terrain to their advantage, and are particularly skilled at scaling steep cliffs and mountainous terrain to surprise and overwhelm their enemies. In addition to their exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards were also known for their loyalty and dedication to the royal family. They undergo rigorous training and were selected based on their physical prowess, intelligence, and character, to become an Eagle Guard, applicants must be graduates of both the School of the Father and School of the Dragon.
The Eagle Guards are outfitted in distinctive uniforms that featured a stylized eagle emblem, and they were armed with a variety of weapons, including bows, spears, and swords. They were also known to use eagle feathers and talons in their armor and equipment, as a nod to the unit's namesake.
Druktse is a hub of cultural and religious activities, with several monasteries and temples located throughout the city.
The most famous of these is the Tashicho Dzong, a stunning fortress monastery that serves as the seat of The Gyelpa (The Duke) the secondary ruler of Druktse and the center of Druk-Ta worship. The dzong is surrounded by high walls and towers, and is accessible through a grand gate that is guarded by soldiers. The interior of the dzong is a maze of courtyards, chapels, and offices, all connected by narrow passageways and staircases.
One of the most impressive features of Tashicho Dzong is its towering central fortress and monastery, which rises above the rest of the complex and can be seen from miles around. This fortress is home to the Dragon Priests and is one of the most important structures in Jangshun. The fortress monastery is also famous for its beautiful architecture and intricate artwork. The walls of the courtyards are adorned with colorful murals and paintings, while the chapels are filled with statues and other religious artifacts. Visitors to Tashicho Dzong can tour the complex and learn about Jangshun history and culture, as well as observe the daily routines of the monks who live and work there. The Monastery is open to the public during certain hours of the day, and visitors are advised to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the chapels. Even though the current royal family of Jangshun are connected to The Father, The Dragon holds a special place in Druktse.
The people of Druktse are known for their warm hospitality and their strong sense of community. They celebrate several festivals throughout the year, including the annual Tshechu festival, the 3 Gods Festival which features colorful dances and rituals performed by monks and laypeople.
To the north-east of the Kingdom lies the second biggest city in Jangshun, the city of Lhagyal, often called “The Fire-proof City”
Lhagyal is a mass of stone walls and buildings with precious little wood being used at all, the walls of the city are imposingly high and even the central palace is relatively flat and does not rise above the walls, there are 4 gates made of pure steel and those are the only entrances and exits.
Inside the city walls, the streets are narrow and winding, with tall, tightly packed buildings constructed from rough-hewn stone. The architecture is distinct, with flat roofs and ornate metal doors decorating the doorways and windows, many of the buildings are built into the city's walls, their backs resting against the ancient stones.
There is more to the city than what meets the eye. Beneath the streets lie a labyrinth of tunnels and catacombs, built for both practical and spiritual purposes. Some are used for storage or as escape routes, while others are filled with ancient artifacts and sacred relics. The catacombs are also home to a complex network of underground temples and shrines and busy streets that are home to underground residences and businesses.
Despite its rugged appearance, the city's architecture is a testament to its resilience. It has withstood numerous attempts at invasion over the centuries, including attacks by powerful enemies armed with the latest in siege weaponry. The city's fortifications are a marvel of engineering, designed to withstand even the most devastating attacks and yet, for all its defensive prowess, the city has never lost sight of its cultural heritage.
The most famous instance of this was when the neighbouring Confucian Kingdom of Jinyun attempted to invade Jangshun with its impressive military might, scores of loyal foot-soldiers hardened by decades of conflict and advanced siege technology that included weapons that used fireworks.
The city withstood months of warfare with Lhagyal earning its nickname of “The Fire-proof City” The stone structures withstood the fireworks and the hard rock of the walls withstood the Jinyun catapults, outside the city several guerilla efforts by the Eagle Guards, The Company of the Hand and The White Tigers from Monyul lending their support repelled attempted on-foot invasions by the hardened Jinyun soldiers.
In the south-west of Jangshun, near the borders of Monyul and Taishigang lies the town of Gyalpeling, a place revered by monks and pilgrims alike. Gyalpeling, meaning "Abode of the Victorious" is a small yet vibrant town located in a remote corner of the kingdom. Its strategic location, surrounded by imposing mountains and blessed with fertile lands, has made it a crucial hub for spiritual activities and monastic life. The town is centered around a grand monastery, which serves as the heart and soul of the community. The monastery, known as Samtenling Monastery, is a majestic complex of ornate buildings adorned with colorful murals, fluttering prayer flags, and the sound of chanting monks echoing through the air. It is a revered place of worship and learning, drawing scholars, practitioners, and seekers of wisdom from far and wide. The streets of Gyalpeling are lined with modest housing for monks, adorned with intricate woodcarvings and colorful paintings. The locals, known for their warm hospitality and deep reverence for Tonpa, every activity the townspeople engage in helps the monastery in some way, whether trading, farming or craftsmanship, every resident of Gyalpeling helps out the monastery in some way. The town also boasts natural hot springs, believed to have healing properties, which attract pilgrims and visitors seeking solace and rejuvenation. The pristine rivers and lakes surrounding Gyalpeling add to its enchanting beauty, serving as places for meditation, ritual ablutions, and scenic walks. Gyalpeling is not only a place of spiritual significance, but it also serves as a center of learning, with numerous scriptoria, libraries, and meditation caves where monks engage in intensive study, contemplation, and meditation, prospective monks come from all over the 5 Kingdoms to study in Gyalpeling, as monks educated within its walls are valued in any court of the Tonpa Kingdoms.
One of the most valuable cities in Jangshun isn't far from the capital, a short 1 hour horse ride east of Druktse stands the city of Jangtse, a jewel in the crown of the kingdom. Jangtse, meaning "Silver Peak" in the local tongue, owes its fame and prosperity to the rich veins of silver that run through the nearby mountains, making it a thriving center for mining and trade. At the heart of Jangtse rises a magnificent conical palace, known as Jang Potrang, or the "Silver Palace." The palace, glistening like a beacon atop the tallest hill in the city, is adorned with silver-plated roofs, walls, and pillars, reflecting the sunlight and casting a mesmerizing glow over the surrounding landscape. It serves as the royal residence, where the Count holds court and conducts affairs pertaining to the area between Jangtse and Druktse. The streets of Jangtse are lined with buildings that boast silver-plated facades, creating a surreal and shimmering sight as one walks through the city, often shining gold from reflecting the sunlight, the wealth of the city is evident in the intricate silver filigree work that adorns windows, doors, and rooftops of temples, mansions, and markets alike. The silversmiths of Jangtse are renowned for their craftsmanship, producing exquisite silverware and jewelry that are sought after by collectors and traders from distant lands. The city is a bustling center of commerce, with a vibrant market square where merchants from across the region gather to trade in silver, gemstones, textiles, and other precious goods. The sounds of bartering, laughter, and the clinking of silver coins fill the air.
The Armies of Jangshun are known for their ferocious foot-soldiers, the every-day rank and file soldiers of the Jangshun armies are regarded as the best in the region and are a feared prospect to face on any battlefield.
The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are highly disciplined and skilled in the art of warfare, and are renowned throughout the region for their courage and loyalty. They are trained in a variety of weapons and fighting styles, including archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat.
It is said that the success of the army comes from the fact that many men and women who fight in it are from mountainous regions and are conditioned from a young age to move over mountainous land with ease, their armies can easily traverse land that would be impossible for normal armies to travel over, due to the fact that the soldiers know the land.
The army of Jangshun is led by a commander-in-chief, who is appointed by the common foot-soldiers and is responsible for the overall strategy and tactics of the army. Under the commander-in-chief, there are several generals and officers who oversee different units of the army, each with their own specific roles and responsibilities. The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are equipped with a variety of weapons and armor, including shields, helmets, and chainmail. They are also skilled in the use of traditional weapons, such as the da and the gochu, which are types of swords. In addition to their skills in battle, the soldiers of the army of Jangshun are also highly respected for their loyalty and devotion to their ruler and country. They are known for their strong sense of duty and honor, and are willing to lay down their lives in defense of their homeland. The army of Jangshun is often called upon to defend the kingdom against invading forces, and has a long history of successful battles and campaigns. Their reputation for courage and skill has earned them the respect of their neighbors and allies, and they are a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Jangshun.
One of the most famous regiments from Jangshun is the “Wheel of Steel” A heavily armored longsword unit founded by Princess Jamyang Daughter of King Kunga and Sister of King Yangchen of the Yeshe Dynasty after she travelled to Europe and witnessed people fighting in full suits of armor, this was a foreign concept in the areas around her and she implemented the idea with her Father's (And later Brother's) full support they were first deployed in aid of Taishigang who were experiencing an invasion from a nearby Dharmist Kingdom. The longswords cleaved through the invading forces lack of armor and their steel plates deflected blows.
Monyul Monyul is a land of vast open spaces and stunning natural beauty. The kingdom is home to a proud and fiercely independent people, who have built a rich culture and a strong military tradition, its plains are green and warm during the summer but snow is not uncommon in winter. Dharmaling is the capital city of Monyul and is nestled in the hills, surrounded by winding rivers and vast grasslands. It is a city steeped in tradition and culture, with a rich history that stretches back centuries.
Dharmaling was built as the northern most outpost of the Dharmist Indraprastha Empire but was conquered by Tonpa forces from a tribe that would eventually become known as the Monyul. The city is built around a central marketplace, where merchants from all over the known world come to trade their wares. The marketplace is a bustling hub of activity, filled with the sounds of bargaining and haggling, and the aromas of exotic spices and perfumes.
The Company of the Wind have their main offices in Dharmaling and use the bustling 10 storey wooden building to plan its operations throughout the known world. The streets of Dharmaling are relatively wide due to the constant horse carts that pass through them. The buildings are made of stone and wood, with intricately carved facades and ornate balconies. Many of the houses have flat roofs, which are used as outdoor living spaces during the warmer months. At the heart of the city lies the great monastery of The 3 Gods, unlike in other cities which have separate monasteries for the three Gods, this temple combines them as a display of unity between the three sects. The massive structure dominates the skyline, with its towering walls and intricate carvings. The monastery is home to a community of monks, who dedicate their lives to the study and practice of Tonpa. Surrounding the monastery are the homes of the nobility, who are known for their wealth and power. These grand estates are filled with beautiful gardens and courtyards, and are often adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals. Outside the city walls, the landscape is dotted with small villages and nomadic encampments. These communities are home to herders and farmers, who make their living tending to the region's yaks and sheep. Despite its remote location, Dharmaling is a city of great importance, both culturally and politically. It is a place of pilgrimage for Monks, Merchants and laypeople from all over the world, and is also a hub of trade and commerce. The people of Dharmaling are proud of their heritage and their way of life, and are fiercely protective of their city and its traditions.
A 30 minute walk to the west of Dharmaling lies the Temple of Tong Thang, the Beehive Temple, as visitors approach the temple, they are greeted by the gentle humming of bees that buzz around the entrance, seemingly inviting them inside, the entrance is adorned with ornate wooden doors intricately carved with depictions of bees in flight, the temple is home to hundreds of bee colonies. The interior of the temple is a marvel of craftsmanship. The walls are adorned with honeycomb patterns carved into the stone, creating a mesmerizing visual display. Soft light filters through small openings in the dome-shaped ceiling, the centerpiece of the temple is a large altar made of honey-colored stone, adorned with intricate carvings of bees and honeycombs, where devotees offer their prayers and offerings. The Temple of Thong Tang is a place of worship dedicated to the reverence of bees and their significance in nature and the cycle of life, every day priests and priestesses of The Mother make their way to the temple to tend to the bees, bringing them water and sliced fruits, every year there is a festival outside the temple where priests and priestesses of Caihong distribute honey gathered from the bees.
Monyul is home to a large lake called Jangchub Tso, the lake is bordered by lush green forests and snow-capped mountains to the south-east, a product of Monyul's border with Taishigang.
On the edge of the lake there is a large city called "Gangri Thang", which is known for its fish markets and skilled boatwrights, nobles from the surrounding Kingdoms often commission boatwrights from Gangri Thang to build grand freshwater barges for them.
Several villages surround the lake, mostly fishing and farming communities, every spring fishermen from these villages make their way to Gangri Thang with hundreds of fish, hoping to hock their catch to fishmongers, tourists and Company of the Wind officers.
The fish they carry is mainly the several species of trout that live in the lake but a few of the lucky ones carry the Golden Mahseer, a gleaming fish variety that is said to be very difficult to catch, although the taste of the fish pales in comparison to the trout, the Golden Mahseer is revered for its scales that give off a vibrant golden glow, these scales are often used in ceremonial dress of the region adoring clothing and jewellery.
The people of Monyul are also skilled artisans, known for their intricate weavings and pottery. The kingdom is home to many workshops and marketplaces, where merchants sell their wares to buyers from all over the region. The people of Monyul are known for their skill at horsemanship, and the kingdom is home to some of the finest cavalry units in the region. The army of Monyul is also composed of archers and spearmen, who are trained in the art of mounted combat and guerrilla warfare.
The most prestigious regiment of Monyul is a cavalry unit called the White Tigers, the horsemasters of the White Tigers are known as the strictest in the Tonpa Kingdoms, if a horse fails a single training drill both the horse and rider are deemed unworthy. The White Tigers main weapon is a thick spear, painted red with a bronze spearhead, it has a heavy counterweight at the back that also doubles as a blunt weapon. Their secondary weapons are a heavy sword and a short bow.

2023.06.07 09:47 Substantial-Part4507 I'm trying to plan a oneshot, and would like advice to make it cohesive and enjoyable.
Hello, I hope this is the correct subreddit for this. I have dm'd in the past however I followed A Most Potent Brew. This will be my first one-shot which I will have planned from scratch.
The general premise is that of an escape room situation, only the size of the entire town. The town of Il-Goten has a Ghoul problem, and every night, the corpses of their ancestors rise once again to wreak havoc and terrorize the helpless town-people ever since the unfortunate demise of the town's founder and local necromancer, Julius Graven. The mayor is offering a reward to an adventuring party who is able to successfully lift Julius' enchantment and return their honored dead back to the afterlife. Except, none of this is real.
Its a ploy by the mayor to draw in more revenue from local adventurers, who come there to save a town from ghouls, and purchase supplies, trinkets, and support their economy. Everything is scripted and takes about a week to complete the mystery in game. Obviously, the towns-people are the ghouls, and are dressed up like scooby-doo monsters.
Precautions: In order to keep everyone safe, the mayor will give the players wooden weapons which have been blessed by the priest to cause the ghouls to flee at the slightest touch (since its all fake they just run away). The mayor won't take their weapons, but will plead with the adventurers to respect the honor of their ancestors and not to brutally cut them to pieces.
Story: The town of Il-Goten (pronounced Ill Gotten, like ill gotten gains) was never the same following Julius' Graven's death. His attempts to make himself immortal went horribly wrong, and the device he constructed to prolong his life brutally cut it short as well as causing their ancestors to rise from the dead from dusk till dawn, returning to the crypt before the sun comes up. Now it is up to these brave adventurers to save the town before their Graven Festival, which happens once every 100 years, (or last week) by collecting the pieces from Julius' past in order to dismantle his cruel machine. In order to do this they will need his diary, his staff, and his enchanted ring.
The diary is held by one of the ghouls, who is said to have been Graven's most trusted assistant, who will run at the sight of an adventurer. The recommended/planned way for the players to get it is by inquiring at the library for a magical relic which makes the wearer undetectable by the undead. This relic can be found in the run down house of Graven's assistant, and they just have to solve a simple riddle to reveal where its hidden. Once acquired all the ghouls will ignore the person wearing it, and the diary ghoul will pretend not to notice them. If players wish to bypass this, I'm thinking that they would need 3 consecutive stealth rolls of 15 or higher (I'm open to suggestions), to sneak past all the ghouls (who would try to warn Diary Ghoul) and grab the book. However, they can also just restrain him through other means I haven't thought of. I will be sure to introduce the town person who plays him before the night begins, and if they kill him or injure the ghoul, the town person will be noticeably absent/wounded.
Getting his enchanted ring requires the diary, as it contains both instructions as well as a hint. His ring resides deep inside the town crypt (Which was created specifically for this deception and is not home to any actual ancestors.) I haven't really given this part much thought yet, and I'm open to suggestions.
Getting his staff requires the diary, as it contains instructions on where to find it, but it does not require the ring, and could be acquired before getting the ring, but I'm not sure why you would want to do that. His staff is in the bedroom of his decrepit mansion, and can just be picked up with no hassle.
His machine is in the cellar of his house, and is guarded by something they'll have to fight. I'm thinking either a magic caster (maybe the priest) who will play the part of Julius Graven's undead corpse, or a townsperson who is willing to get a bit beat up, or maybe some magical construct. I'm open to ideas. After defeating the boss, they just have to follow the diary's magical incantation to stop the machine.
This is the end of the scripted part, or part 1.
I felt that it wouldn't be satisfying to have them go through this and tell them "btw it was all fake" so there are also things going on behind the scenes which will lead to a more satisfying conclusion.
The mayor is embezzling funds from the town. In order to fund his parties and furnish his mansion, the mayor is stealing funds which are meant to go to repairing the town after the ghoul actors destroy it (it wouldn't be realistic without a few broken windows and some property damage). As a result of this, 3 homes in the town are abandoned, and in a state of disrepair. A direct consequence of this is that a group of necromancers have secretly taken up refuge in one of the abandoned buildings. Players might see shadowy figures leaving the Graven estate, and if they choose to break into the abandoned building they're staying in they will find evidence that it is not as uninhabited as it seems. I don't really plan on adding a way to prevent the necromancers from succeeding in their plans to actually bring the dead townspeople to life, but if you think I should I will.
Following the adventurers successful dismantling of the machine, the mayor will have a party at midnight where the townspeople revel in the fact that there are no ghouls ravaging the streets... Until the decaying corpses of their ancestors crawl to the surface of the graveyard and begin attacking people. Panic ensues as this is NOT supposed to be happening, and the mayor gives up all pretense of caring about their undead relatives and pleads for the adventurers to hack the zombies to pieces. The necromancers can be found in the graveyard on the outskirts of town.
All in all there will be 3 fights: the boss fight in the cellar, the fight with the actual ghouls, and finally, the necromancers.
So there is my one-shot. Please give me advice or suggestions :)

2023.06.07 06:49 InsaniacDuo Does anyone else feel like the Toothpick is an apology?
It's pretty well known that ARs in 2 are the short end of the weapon types(unsure if it's that way for the other games), and I'm in full conspiracy mode in my belief the devs made the Toothpick as a way of saying sorry for making them bad.
First, the drop rate. I've only been through the cavern where the sand worm queens spawn twice, and I already have 3 of these things. I'm pretty sure Effervescent is a tier above legendary and pearlescent, so this drop rate had to be deliberate so that every player saw the shiny rainbow gun. Second, the Mouthwash relic seems the indicate that they really expected you to have the Toothpick in your loadout. Third, the gun isn't even an AR. That's what it's classified as, but you and I both know it shoots like a shotgun.

2023.06.07 05:43 berdistehwerd Range Day: Competition Shooting (3/5)
[First] [Previous] [Next (coming soon)] Mick about to do something incredible Mick reference Finn reference ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Memory transcription subject: Finn Hathcock, S&R Volunteer, Gunsmith Date [Standardized Human Time]: November 17, 2136 With the awards ceremony out of the way, and my explanation of how the long range contest works out of the way, it was time to get to practicing our shots. My weapon of choice was a
Cheytac M200 Intervention, a vintage rifle from the early 2000s. One of my personal favorites in the collection, it’s a piece with a lot of absolutely fascinating history, originally used by a Marine corps covert marksman, fighting in Ukraine. This thing has personally sent rounds through a few Russian commanders, denoted by the 7 tally marks on the side of the receiver. Sounds a little weird to be using a gun that has confirmed kills marked on the side, but that conflict happened over a century ago, so the blood has long cleared off its history in my eyes.
As a warmup, I would have to calibrate my spotting scope, and re-zero the scope that I had placed on the top of my rifle. It was a ‘relic’ by today’s standards, but it’s still a great scope for the time nonetheless. Mick was watching me extract the rifle from the case, where I then assembled it like an assassin would in a cheesy action movie. Snap the barrel to the receiver, slip the bipod on for good measure, extend the stock, slip the bolt into the chamber, and we’re good to go.
“What gun is that?’ Mick questioned. “I’ve never seen it before.”
“Ah, this is just my personal long range gun, an Intervention. Used to be super popular in video games of the 2000s, but now we’ve got much better options for taking out things at range.”
“That looks a bit too big for me to shoot, you got anything for me? I saw another couple boxes in the car, one of those has to be mine, right?”
He was right, I had got him one a little more suited to his size, and something else for later.
“You’re right, I did bring something for you,” I responded. I was quite excited to see what he thought of the little gun I got for him, although this one I wouldn’t be gifting to him right away. “Go grab the smallest thing out of the car, it should be labeled for you!”
I watched as he walked over to the car, his tail wagging behind him, as it usually did when we were messing around with firearms and stuff. I'm wondering if he got paired with me on purpose, since he seems to be the only venlil I know of interested in guns and engineering, just like I am.
Mick returned with his rifle, plopped it down onto the bench we would be shooting from, and extracted his rifle. A
Desert Tech SRS-A2 sniper rifle. This little thing was a compact, hard hitting bolt action bullpup from, again, the early 2000s. Did I mention that’s my favorite time period for my guns? Anyway, this would be the perfect rifle for mick, since it actually fit his slightly smaller stature perfectly. At 5 foot 6 inches, he’s a bit shorter than I am, at 6 feet even.
We got situated onto the bench, Mick handed me his rifle for calibration, so I did so, then handed it back to him. Modern boresights made it incredibly easy to zero things, as it would calculate drop for whatever settings you could input into it, meaning you just put the crosshair on where it should land and you have an accurate shot for the conditions specified. Quite incredible if you ask me, somehow it just kinda…works. I’m certainly not complaining.
I went ahead and loaded up the magazine for Mick’s rifle. Despite its small stature, the SRS was still quite powerful. I configured it with the longest barrel, and put a .338 chamber and bolt in there, the highest caliber that would fit the time frame of the competition. Modern versions of the gun could be chambered in pretty much anything you want, but I prefer to stick within proper time periods for my builds. Sure, I could slap a cutting edge auto-zeroing, thermal, solar powered, auto range finding, perfectly accurate every time guaranteed scope on top of my Lee-Enfield from 1914, but what’s the fun in that? It looks awkward, is completely historically wrong, and wouldn’t help anyone that is already a good shooter anyway.
I signed up for the vintage challenge because of that specifically, it only allows rifles and attachments from before the 2030s, the latest time period I’d be invested in. It actually had some challenges, rather than being point and shoot.
“Hey Finn you there? You zoned out a little…”
“Oh, sorry, just thinkin.”
“No worries, I just wanna shoot my gun, and you’re kinda holding it right now.”
“Ah sorry, here.”
I handed the rifle back to him, and walked on over to the spotter scope I had left nearby. This device was a standalone scope that just sat on a tripod, had a 36x zoom (a bit more than we needed but that’s fine), and an angled viewport so you just had to take a look into it without bending down quite as far.
Our target was about 200 meters away, a solid long distance shot for most, but pretty easy with the right equipment.
“OK, you ready mick? Move the throw lever to a higher magnification so you can see what you're aiming at, the red target marked 200.”
“Got it, I see it.”
“Ok, wind is… 4 MPH to the left, aim just slightly right of center, up one notch from the crosshair.”
“Ok, I'm aiming, fire?”
“When ready!” Time to see how good mick’s exact shot placement is, the goal being the exact center of the target.
Mick squeezed his trigger, I felt the blast off to my left, and I watched the .338 tracer round fly through the air. Impact a bit high and to the right. Solid characteristics of a flinched shot, compounded by the fact that I watched him flinch when he pulled the trigger.
“Bud, you flinched it a little. It’s ok if you don’t hit dead center, ya know.”
“Sorry… just feels like I've got a lot of pressure over my head for some reason.”
“Hey, don’t apologize for nothing, save it for mistakes.” I paused for a moment to let it sink in. “Can you think of why you might have flinched?”
“Probably just that I have that streak of not missing once going, and I feel like I’ll lose that.”
“Alright then, lemme help.”
I scooted over, racked another round into his gun, and told him just to slam a round into the dirt under the target. Hopefully breaking the (frankly impressive) no misses streak he had going would stop him from flinching. I then told him to try again, the wind moved a little right this time, so I told him to hold one mill to the left.
Another puff of wind, another tracer flying downrange. The projectile slammed face first into the middle of the target, only off by about a quarter of an inch. Exactly where I wanted him to hit it, not perfect but still quite good.
“Nice shot, didn’t flinch it this time I see?”
“Oh wow, I'm surprised that it worked, are you always this skilled at reading people?”
“I am when they tell me what the problem is, such as you’ve done.”
“AH. Yea that would help.”
That’s another thing I like about Mick, he’s always incredibly honest. If he’s not hiding anything he’ll just outright say what’s wrong instead of so many other people who will carry on as if nothing’s wrong despite the fact that there’s a problematic thorn stuck in their side.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
After about 30 minutes of me practicing shot calling and Mick practicing his aim on further and further targets, it was time for the competition. It consisted of a speed shot contest, hit the 300 meter target 5 times quickly, the ‘
White Feather’ shot, hit a 2 inch target from 500 meters, and the ‘
Sniper Elite’ shot, a half-covered man size target from 1.5 kilometers away. Thankfully for that one it doesn’t matter where you hit him, as long as you do hit him.
The familiar whistle rang out, drawing the competitors away from their firearms and towards the instructors, here to tell us how the rules worked. I had heard (and delivered) this spiel so many times I knew it by heart, so I just tuned it out until he was done rambling. Mick listened intently, according to his ears, at least. Those ears gave a good indicator of the amount of attention he was paying to any given thing, for instance, if he was focused on the shot he was about to take I noticed he would sweep them backward, like a cat about to start bouncing off the walls, or when he was focusing on someone’s conversation they would angle forward slightly.
I was pulled from that train of thought when the instructor finished his explanation of the rules, and we were allowed to return to our tables to get ready for the competition ahead. I removed the magazine, press checked the chamber, and put a flag in for good measure. Mick followed suit, and we were ready to compete. I decided we wouldn’t be waiting too long this time, since we had been here before everyone else. I was going first, mick would be my spotter (thankfully he would only have to call out the wind, since I can handle rangefinding and elevation), then we would switch out for me as the spotter and Mick as the sniper, where I would have to tell him exactly where to aim on the crosshairs.
We were called forward to our bench, where the magic would begin. I laid out a few extra magazines in front of me, I was definitely going to need them for that 1500 shot, re-calibrated the rangefinder for mick, and set up the shot timer that we would both have to use. I was now ready to go, and was just waiting for the instructor to give me the go-ahead.
The instructor noticed that we were ready to go, so he began his usual lines. “Shooter ready? Standby…”
BEEP!
I quickly flipped the safety off, racked a round into the chamber, and began lining up for the speed shots. “Mick, what's the wind like?” I requested, with urgency.
“About… 2 miles leftward?”
I aimed ever so slightly to the right of the center of my target, and released the breath I was holding. Exhale, pause, squeeze slowly but surely… fire. Impact a fraction of a second later, half an inch off the center. Rack the bolt again, new round in the chamber, repeat. Aim, exhale… fire. Impact. Rack bolt, aim center, exhale… fire, impact.
This sequence repeated 2 more times, both shots landing in a very tight group around the center of the target. Next up was the ‘White feather’ shot, hitting a tiny, 2x2 target from extreme distance.
I threw the zoom lever on the scope to the right, adjust the zero to 500, request the windage.
“What’s the wind now?” I asked again. It had been long enough where the wind may have changed direction.
“6 miles per hour, slightly right but mostly parallel to the range, seems like.”
That meant I had to hold one dot left, aim slightly lower than the target due to the wind carrying it further than I could easily zero for. I place the target into the spot in my scope, hold my breath for a moment, exhale, hold… fire.
“Impact low, centered.” Mick called out. I had overcompensated for the wind’s carrying effect, so I had hit a bit low of the 2 inch wide target. Adjust so it’s on the line, still one mil dot to the left, exhale, hold… fire. The bullet did its thing, and impacted the little red circle. A simple, yet deceptively hard shot, even if you have accurate holds and an even more accurate rifle. Funnily enough, the guy who originally made the shot this competition was trying to emulate happened to be my great (x9) grandfather. Carlos Hathcock was notorious during the Vietnam war, gaining a bounty of over 30000 dollars just on him alone. Nobody managed to claim that bounty, fortunately, but many counter-snipers tried.
On one of those occasions, a sniper caught sight of him from roughly 500 meters away, leaving a notable glint from the reflection on the front of the scope. He then took aim at the flash, and fired his rifle, where the bullet went straight through the scope into the enemy sniper’s eye. A frankly insane shot, even under ideal conditions such as we have here. Thankfully, we only have to hit about half a playing card rather than a tiny, 1 inch wide tube.
Next was the ‘Sniper Elite’ shot, apparently named after an old video game about sniping, set during the second world war. At first I couldn’t see the target, 1.5 kilometers is quite an insane distance even for some of the more skilled shooters, such as myself. I had to spot the little flag flying next to it, then find it again within the magnified scope. I threw the magnification all the way up, ticked up the zero until it hit its maximum, 1000 meters. Seems the maker of this scope never expected anyone to try and throw a round more than a kilometer down range, but here I was doing it anyway.
“Mick, wind?” I asked, a bit too impatiently.
“Here it looks like… 7 MPH going perpendicular toward the right.”
“Thank you.” I said, hoping to make up for my impatience.
I placed my aim onto the target, aimed with the lowest mil on the scope, shift left 1 and a half, hold breath, exhale, hold… Fire!
I watched the tracer take its sweet time waltzing it’s way over yonder to the target. I could also see it impact the ground about a foot too low. I had to try again. I quickly racked the bolt, putting another .408 round into the chamber.
I aimed, then I pulled the zoom lever on the scope back to the left, zooming back out so I could see the other mils that were hidden under the eye box of the scope. It was exactly what I needed.
I placed the crosshair back on the target, raised it up a few mils until I was aiming the same way I was before, then lifted my point of aim another few inches up. If the wind hadn’t changed too much, this should hit roughly the center of the target.
Hold breath, exhale, hold… fire. The tracer flew through the air again, whacking itself straight into the center of the target.
A buzzer rang from behind us signaling the end of the run. 20 seconds for the speed shots, 30 for the scope shot, and another 25 for the long range. 75 seconds is enough to get full bonus points, plus a little penalty for missing twice, means that I get a score of 13, out of 15. Not bad, not bad at all.
We had a short break, where I set Mick's rifle up, showed him how to adjust for distance, and where the bullets should roughly land when accounting for wind and drop. Mick picked up how to do it quickly, as he seemed to do with anything I showed him, I wonder if he has some sort of neurodivergence? It doesn’t matter to me if he does, I just like having a friend around.
The instructor informed us that it was time for Mick to do his run. I handed Mick the magazines, and got set up behind the spotter scope. Both of us gave the signal for the instructor to begin his timing.
“Shooter ready? Standby…”
BEEP!
I watched as Mick quickly zeroed the scope for 300 meters, placed his aim onto the target, and let his round loose. As expected, smack dab in the middle. I was now just watching through the spotter scope, seeing the rounds hit and calling out if they did or not. “Hit!”
Mick cycled the bolt, throwing the empty case to the floor next to the stand where we were set up. He managed to keep the rifle stable on the target, so he barely had to adjust before sending another round directly on target. “Hit!”
This repeated another three times, fire, “hit!”, cycle. Mick’s aim was still impeccable, although that wasn’t saying much due to it only being a 300 meter shot. Mick redirected his aim over to the 2x2 inch target that was for the ‘White Feather’ shot. I watched him click the dial for distance over another 4 notches, zeroing for 500 meters.
I glanced over to the windage monitor, it proclaimed that the wind was going at 3 MPH to the right of the range. I calculated in my head that it would mean he would have to adjust to the left about half of a mil dot, so I relayed this to him. “About half a mil left, exactly on the middle crosshair line.
Mick flicked his ears in an affirmative gesture, and I saw the rifle nudge ever so slightly to the left. His shot impacted the middle of the target on its first trip downrange, even better than I did.
“HIT!”
Next up was that ‘Sniper Elite’ shot, a simple hit at 1500 meters was all you needed. Mick swung his aim over to the target, flicked the zoom all the way in, and rotated the zeroing to 1500. Fortunately for him, his scope actually went all the way out to 2000 meters, so he didn’t have to miss, then guesstimate like I had.
I once again glanced at the wind monitor, and it was practically nothing.
0.2 MPH.
The air was perfectly still (or as still as you could reasonably hope for) so there was no better opportunity than now for him to get this perfect shot off. “Dead center of the target, the wind’s stopped!”
Out of my peripheral vision, I see Mick holding his breath like I had, then slowly pulling the trigger. The rifle did it’s thing, a hammer falling into a striker, setting off a primer, deflagrating exactly 275 grains of gunpowder, propelling a single copper coated round down the barrel at 3000 feet per second, sending it off on the most textbook shot in the history of long range shooting, the bullet spiraled through the air, nearing closer to its destination every millisecond.
The wind decided to cooperate with us today, keeping itself stock still as the round sliced through the air, on a collision course with the exact center of the man sized silhouette target that sat at the end of the range.
I saw through the spotter scope, a bullet impact its target with an unparalleled level of luckiness, flattening itself against the steel of the target.
“FUCKIN HIT! NICE SHOT MICK!” I shouted, immediately standing up with my arm poised for the greatest high five any man or venlil had ever seen.
Mick had seen the bullet impact, but wasn’t quite as excited as I was. He still got up, noticing my excitement through those side facing eyes of his, then he raised his own paw, held it back, ready to slingshot it against mine.
The ultimately satisfying sound of a good high five soon followed, our hands (and paws) slapping together right at the palms, the force resonating loud enough to actually make the active hearing protection dampen it for us. The impressiveness of the shot was not to be undersold, and we were about to learn what mick’s score was.
The instructor walked over, then told us what his results were.
86 seconds, 15 points out of a total of 15, one bonus point for time, not counted due to an already perfect score. I could barely believe it, Mick was wagging his tail, the instructor even looked a little impressed. Mick had probably won it, or at least tied for first.
An hour or 2 later, all the other competitors had taken their shots. I ended up getting tied for 3rd, with one other competitor. I decided that I would give up whatever prize I would have gotten to the other guy, since I already won once today. The podium ceremony was next up, this time Mick was at the top of it. He got a voucher for a rifle again, like the guy that won the IPSC section, but he could also trade it in for about 1000 bucks of stuff from the equipment store. He got himself a plate carrier similar to mine, a nice faux leather holster (which now contained his pistol), and another pair of tactical pants, this time in tan-gray instead of the navy blue of the ones he won.
Our next and final competition was coming up soon, some sort of mix between Olympic and skeet shooting. Why they decided to combine both of those, I had no idea. Sounds fun anyway, so I’m not gonna question it.

Author's note: Wow, this chapter took a lot less time than the rest of them. I'm gonna take a break from writing the main story for a little while, you should expect a prologue coming next, in my inconsistent as always timeframe.
Hope you enjoyed it, i'm gonna go to bed now. (I released this during finals week at midnight, wahoo!)

For strategy:
- I made this list with the intent of taking them down from range with a firing line. I won't worry about capturing objectives and instead focus everything on destroying as many of them as possible. My secondaries will be titan slayers, first strike, and raise banners high, though I likely won't focus too much on that one.
- The melta team would be placed in reserves and have the teleportarium strategem used on them. Turn two they will teleport near the knight or armigers and try to deal as much damage with the meltas and frag cannons.
- The heavy bolter team will stay in my deployment zone behind cover and try to deal damage from range.
- The captain and phobos lieutenant will stay close to the heavy bolter team to give the buffs.
- The spectrus kill team will also be in cover somewhere in my deployment zone.
- The predator and razorback will stay back in my deployment zone and never be too far from my techmarine, who will be repairing and buffing them.
- My dreadnought will likely stay behind as well. Though if the rhino lives long enough, I may try to fight it in melee.
- The blackstar will come in turn two with the melta team to provide additional fire support and serve as a distraction to keep the knight's weapons off my other units.

2023.06.07 05:16 SIGMA920 Road to Singularity Value - Prospective Valuation Pt1
Note: I've done none of the level math myself yet.
Link to the BP math here. The Basics:
Unless something changed it's the usual for a main BP. Nothing new there.
The Good:
- The Gerridas seem to be good. Light and fast legs will be pretty good.
The Meh:
- The Thyrsus I seems to be very average.
- The Pegasus is going to be interesting. While I don't love the idea of a legendary engine without 2 other such engines minimum being added into the game, it's going to be seen more later on.
The Bad:
- The way lighters are being distributed is objectively speaking shit. By tying them into BP levels directly instead of having a simple hit max level and all levels afterwards are X lighters, they're directly affecting how much a non-whale can get. The level being capped at 128/129 is nothing new, that's the same as Polar Lights is going to be. But Polar Lights maxes players out at 1460 lighters, Road to Singularity seems to be be maxing for non-whales at ~1300 +/- 45.
- The items seem to be extremely lackluster. The Charybdis and Kronos are practically speaking going to be DOA. There's not much of a way to get sugercoat this.
- BP chaff is going to be an issue. Link to mnector's post in particular, a single glance at the image in that post shows that the BP is filled with chaff like crates, cosmetics, badges, paints, .etc .etc. This ties into the lighter distribution but it also plays into the issue with the items. For example, the legs are in x2s with a week between them.
- The new relic, since it's time limited and requires multiple omamori the reduced uranium cost is a slap in the face. Add in that it looks like it'll be aggressively average and I can't say much good about it.
Conclusion Pt1:
Honestly, this BP is not looking that good. I don't know who decided that this was a good decision but they need to have a face to face conversation with the community as a whole. The best thing I can say right now is that the BP might be worth 10 USD or whatever your currency is for the legs, the engine, and the railgun. Most importantly I wouldn't worry about leveling once you hit ~1000 lighters (At whatever level that is, like I said I've only done some of the math.). The limited crafting means that the standard craftable legendaries will be a rip off, the BP legendaries are a high energy weapon, an engine you'll already get one of, and 2 legendaries that I wouldn't take more than a glance at.
To be Continued in Pt2 on Thursday when the new BP drops and I get around to doing the specifics.

and the supercharge. (You can’t miss either - some people seem to think it’s okay as long as you get the supercharge even if you miss the slam. That is wrong.) With six max light guardians with decent weapons, this should be a two phase fight, so you will need to get six slams and six supercharges, which means on average two actions (slam or supercharge) per team member. A very good team can do it in one teleport (one Warlock and five Titans will be great for this). This is not the longest challenge (that honor still belongs to Oryx challenge which always takes 15 minutes), but is the most unforgiving challenge, where a single mistake can cause the challenge to fail. And you can’t get “lucky” like Atheon challenge (if you have one or two weak players, you just need them teleported with an experienced Relic holder once and you can complete the challenge as long as the team has enough DPS to one-phase the fight).
Weapons
Load-out wise, the best weapons are:
- Unto Dust (from Dead Orbit) with Cluster Bomb (if you are a Hunter, you want Field Scout and Tripod; if you are a Titan or Warlock, you want two reload perks or Tripod, assuming you have an exotic chest piece that gives you extra heavy ammo). FYI, other Cluster Bomb rockets are not as good, as none can fire as quickly as Unto Dust. The only 25 Rate of Fire rocket launchers I know are Unto Dust and The Smolder, The Warpath and Elulim’s Frenzy are at 18, while Hunger of Crota and Gjallarhorn are at 11.
- Shotgun with Final Round (Found Verdict and Fourth Horseman are great)
If you don’t have Unto Dust, you can use:
- Dark Drinker
- High impact sniper (Ex Machina is the best, but Event Horizon or Devil’s Dawn will work too)
Don’t combine Dark Drinker with a shotgun unless you are the cannoneer, otherwise you can be stuck shooting your primary depending on your empowerment status during the first two teleports.
If you have a high Impact Scout (examples are Keystone 01 (from Dead Orbit) and Badger CCL) with Explosive Rounds, you can one-shot shanks from across the map. Hand cannons can one-shot shanks too, but you need to be fairly close to them.
Classes
Following are recommended load-outs per class.
Titan (the dominant destroyer):
- Sunbreaker
- Thermite Grenade (Armamentarium will be great)
- Melting Point
- Simmering Flames (I do not recommend Memory of Felwinter - it will cancel Simmering Flames, also you will not have the super for captains)
Try to get 300 Discipline and 300 Strength. If you can’t get both, Discipline is more important. Do
not use your super on the boss, most of your damage comes from your grenades. (You can use your super to kill the captain.) Throw the grenade on the ground in front of Aksis so the burning line of fire goes underneath his entire body. Mix in a shotgun shell every two grenades or so. Punch him for Melting Point every 5 seconds if possible. You need to jump a bit for Melting Point; you can punch his kneecaps or body, but not his shins.
Warlock (the essential supporter):
- Sunsinger
- Fusion Grenade (Starfire Protocol will be great)
- Song of Flame
- Viking Funeral
- Touch of Flame
The reason for Fusion Grenade is that it counts for two ticks for Viking Funeral while other grenades only count as one. If you pop your Radiance right after each teleport, you can use Radiance all three times. Throw as many grenades as possible to keep Viking Funeral active. In the third teleport, if you have more than one Warlock, the first one who gets to Aksis should pop Radiance first, then the second one a few seconds later. When you pop Radiance, call out your position (“Song of Flame by the Stairs”) so the Titans know where to find you.
Hunter (the useful assistant):
- Gunslinger with Celestial Nighthawk
- Deadeye
- Keyhole (I heard this stacks with Celestial Nighthawk, but I may be wrong)
- Over The Horizon
You can use the Golden Gun on the captain. If you still have the Golden Gun when Aksis starts teleporting, shoot him just after the last bomb hits - Aksis will take damage after the bomb, and assuming the team gets the supercharge, you can immediately fire another Golden Gun at him.
If you don’t have Celestial Nighthawk, you can use Nightstalker, but do not tether Aksis unless you are sure no Titan will be near the boss during that round. (Titans can move pretty fast, so it’s probably best if you don’t use tether on the boss at all.) You can use the tether on the captain.
The Battle
First phase of the fight (before empowerments) is all about staying out of Aksis’ sight. If you are left or right, stay at the inside edge of the stairs at the beginning, then take a few steps forward and stay just behind the left/right supercharge plates when Aksis goes to either side. If you are in middle, stay behind one of the pillars at the beginning, then go to the center (my favorite spot is the front edge of the back-mid teleport platform). If you see any SIVA swarms around you, you are standing at the wrong spot.
The riskiest part of the battle is the captains. I recommend killing as many shanks as you can find before challenging the captain. If you are on the right side, go around the left of the big pillar - the captain can shoot you directly if you go straight to him. Also going around the pillar will help you find any straggling shanks. Don’t be afraid to use your super on the captain, especially if you’re a Titan - your super is worthless for boss damage. If you’re a Celestial Nighthawk Hunter, there is a small benefit of not using the super (you can use that one shot on Aksis), but unless your partner is a Titan, I recommend just shooting the captain with your Golden Gun. That one shot on Aksis is probably not going to be the difference between success and failure, while you or your teammate dying to the captain can very well be.
Occasionally, a side captain can teleport into the wall. If that happens, call out (like “left captain is in the wall!”). The middle cannoneer should bring the cannon to that side and shoot the cannot through the gap of the wall panels. One charged cannon shot will take down the captain. If the cannon doesn’t drop out of the wall, you can jump up to grab it. (You can kill the captain by shooting your guns through the wall panels, but it is much easier with the cannon.)
Empowerment
Once the empowerment starts, cut the chatter and concentrate on callouts. If there is double empowerment, the cannon shifts. Pick up the cannon and go where you need to go, and shoot servitors from there. If you are not comfortable shooting servitors from across the map, you can shoot two servitors from up close before moving to your final location.
Mini-tip: The order of servitors that comes from any one tunnel is Solar, Void, Arc, then back to Solar. (You can memorize this as “SiVA”.) If you are a cannoneer, look into your tunnel before you leave, thinking about the question (“is my next servitor going to be here?”) For example, if you have the Solar cannon, and you see an Arc servitor in your tunnel first, you know your second servitor is going to be here.
Another mini-tip: If you are calling out servitors, mention which order it is, like “second Arc in middle” or “third Void in left”. That will help a cannoneer know where to go first in case there is more than one outstanding servitor of the same element.
It takes seven bombs to completely deplete Aksis’ shield. Most teams will let left and right throw only two bombs and have the middle throw three. (This is easiest in case the side cannoneers are not comfortable shooting across the map - for example, if you have to be on right for empowerment, it is easier to hit the middle servitor than the left servitor.) The middle bomber should watch Aksis’ shield to make sure nobody has missed, and call out “I have the final bomb in middle, empowerments get in position”. If you have enough time, do a three-two-one countdown before throwing the bomb. Left and right bomber can pick up the third bomb but make sure you wait for the middle bomber’s call out and throw at the same time.
Empowered people on the side should stand next to the pillar, slightly ahead of the yellow stripes on the outside (non-Aksis side). The middle empowered person should stand between the two boxes. Make sure you can see Aksis so you know exactly when he teleports. (You can see a wisp of SIVA trail when he teleports, although it is hard to tell if he’s going front-mid or back-mid by just looking at it.) When Aksis teleports, check your front teleport; if he’s not there, immediately turn around and run to your supercharge plate. The red bar of supercharge shows up a half second after Aksis teleports, so do not wait for the bar to show up before you start running. Also, you will not get a prompt to press a button to supercharge (you will get a prompt for slamming his back); so just run to the plate and spam the supercharge button repeatedly. If you are slamming Aksis’ back and you think you got there very early, give a couple of heartbeats before slamming him; the supercharge plate will close about half a second after you slam. You don’t have to wait for the “Guardians Superchanged!” message, the supercharge can be slightly after the slam.
There should always be an empowered person in left, right, and middle, regardless of where Aksis is. Middle empowered person covers both front and back middle teleports. If Aksis is already on your front teleport, stay near the back (supercharge) plate so you can get the supercharge as soon as Aksis teleports away. If you are left or right, you can stand on the supercharge plate; if you are middle, stand next to the plate so Aksis won't teleport right on top of you. Aksis can come back to the same position more than once, just not consecutively. It is perfectly possible for Aksis to go front-mid, back-mid, and then again to front-mid.
Mini-tip: If the very first teleport is left, then supercharge is always middle. I am not aware of any other teleport/supercharge combos.
If you are empowered, make sure you call out where you are, and go to your next empowerment assignment position before even thinking about damaging Aksis. If you are not empowered, try not to say anything. In particular, never say something like “we need empowered right”. The audio can cut off and sound like “empowered right” which means the opposite. Let the empowered people figure it out; there are three of them, that’s enough people talking over one channel already. Or how I like to say: “if you’re not empowered, just shut your mouth and shoot Aksis”. Also, make sure you don’t stand between empowered people and their teleport or supercharge plates.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to empowerment call outs on the second and third teleports - call out your current location, or call out your original (pre-reassignment) location. Make sure the team is clear which method you are using.
- Calling out the current location. If you are using this method, try avoiding duplicate call outs. For instance, if you are on the right, and you hear “empowered right”, just call out “empowered middle” and start moving immediately in that direction. Also, never tell anyone else to move - if you have duplicate empowerments and someone has to move, that someone is you. If you tell someone else to move, even if said person responds immediately, you may lose a second - that one second can be a difference between success and failure.
- Calling out the original location. The “cannon moves on double empowerment” applies beyond the first teleport if you are using this method. This method is desirable if you have people without mics or weak command of the language used by the team (like me joining a Spanish-speaking group). Put those people on side bombs to make sure they can stay put.
If Aksis is close to the final stand before the first teleport, the most experienced member of the team should make a call whether to damage Aksis between teleports. This is because if a delayed damage (like a cannon exploding right after he teleports, or DOT from a grenade) sends Aksis to the final stand before you can slam him and get supercharge, you can lose the challenge. If Aksis is really close to final stand, you can do the first slam/supercharge as usual (don’t damage him just before the teleport), and then go all out on him. If you are not sure, do not damage Aksis and just concentrate on empowerments until the third teleport.
That’s all, sorry for the wall of text. Let me know if you have any comments.
Have fun, PSN: Lightfoot (without the “one” at end)
Edit: This week's Unto Dust at Dead Orbit is god roll for non-Hunters - Cluster Bomb plus Flared Magwell/Spray and Play. It's Arc damage if anyone wants it for Nightfalls and stuff as well.

2023.06.07 02:27 Mar_Vinja Introducing Risk of Rain (WIP)
Introducing a different kind of expansion,
Risk of Rain! (
Specifically Risk of Rain 2) This was just something I quickly whipped up but I've converted most RoR2 items to be used in B&B. The items listed are either a Moxx-tail or Relic but the effects can easily be translated to suit a gun or grenade. I had a lot of fun designing these to suit B&B's balance but also stay true to the item and how it's used in RoR2. This is still a WIP as I've only reviewed the work maybe once or twice so the balance for things may be off, but I'm open to any feedback or suggestions. I haven't included some items as I couldn't see how they would work in B&B so if you discover which ones are missing from the list and have an idea for it feel free to comment :)

https://imgur.com/a/Pq2T56W. Now a little but about me, I am a Cancer, so I’m really in touch with my feelings lol. I’m a gamer and i work full time as a delivery driver. My main games at the moment are final fantasy xiv, star wars the old republic, elder scrolls online and some pokemon lol, I’m a anime fan my favorite anime is probably Jujutsu Kaisen.
Looking for a female that plays games (and hopefully FFXIV too) and get to know. i also play a little xbox one series x and watch anime. in the long run i want a relationship, one that last, one that wont leave me broken and scarred; one i can spend the rest of my life with. If you read this post tell my your favorite animal lol thanks and have a great day or night :)

2023.06.06 23:51 iamlegendinjapan Discussion: why do you play on critical? Difficulty, abilities or specific ability?
My wife thinks I torture myself when I play Kingdom hearts on critical mode because of the early and late game one/two shot deaths. I love playing on critical mode because normal is just too easy and love a good challenge. but my favorite reason is because of the two lucky luckys you get from level 1. It definitely helps the grind for synthesis. And it is just so satisfying getting the shamans relic or other enemy weapons in less than three world loads. Instead of taking hours of grinding.

2023.06.06 23:47 OMGMDR If you are among the greatest f2p
Then you have
- reached level 120
- beaten the expedition mode
- almost beaten normal mode
- been stucked on hero mode
- maxed talents
- every hero at 2 stars (except Stella that you just unlocked)
- some basic heroes at 7 or 8 stars, like Meowgik, Onir or Ayana
- every hero at level 60, and even a few of them at 120, like Bobo and Bonnie
- 30+ outfits
- 4 weapon skins
- Every equipment at mythic + 2 or better (except pets)
- probably Demon Blade as weapon, upgraded at TT+2 (and unfortunately not AS)
- Refined every slot at mythic (except pets and books)
- Reached all 28 jewel bonuses, ans maybe even reached one level 38
- Upgraded your two altars at 80 or better
- Unlocked every green relic (mostly at 4-5 stars), almost every purple relic (mostly at 2-3 stars), and around 5 holy relics
- Equipped 1 SS dragon (epic), 1 S dragon (PE) and 1 A dragon (ALE)
- Collected every monster egg, and upgraded the majority at level 7
- 100k+ attack
- 400k+ health
How many do you get points, out of 20? :D

2023.06.06 21:59 Typauszuendorf2 Faith might be op
And it might be intentional.
We have already seen a lot of Faith based skills punching basically universes above their lvl. Like Pawn being able to ignore Belavierrs defenses, shutting magic and all ranged weapons down in an area similar to a lv 60 capstone skill at lvl 30 and some random Antinium Cleric being able to beat Lulv in a fight with a lvl 20~ skill. [Faith is my Weapon] in general being able to ignore Relic class weapons.
It makes sense, since why would you when designing the rules, make it fair. Why not give your followers a huge advantage. It would make sure that anyone who does not want to serve a God would automatically be in a worse situation [Class] wise.
Yes it has been hinted (and potentially proven) that Aura counters Faith Skills but that might have been just the being having his own strong faith, which could be translated into willpower meaning Aura... But since Aura has been specifically mentioned to be a thing you need no Skill for, this might be an oversight or simply something the Gods could not circumvent. (as they are not the all-powerful variety)
Point is Khelt is in deep shit and Faith is op
What do you think?
