2023.03.20 23:23 Ordinary-Fan8609 hate student teaching. can’t decide if teaching is for me.

i just finished week 10 of student teaching. things have been the biggest shit show you can imagine. my mentor teacher complains about me to my university supervisor (didn’t want me to move the desks into groups… doesn’t like me asking students for their opinion or letting them talk to each other), has given me FOUR unsatisfactories in our benchmark meeting for the teaching standards (and only told me about one regarding participation in extracurriculars, because i haven’t been to any games), says her classroom is a dictatorship and students don’t get a choice in the classroom. this philosophy i think is impacting her decisions with me. it took until week 8 for me to grade tests/quizzes without her grading with me, she would still assign homework up until this past week or two, she rearranged the desks and made new seating charts after i made some, wouldnt let me assign due dates until this past week or two, and completely controls the pacing. the only thing i do is create guided notes and grade the hw for completion (which she threatened to take back over to a student when they were talking about their score being a 5/5 even though they didn’t draw figures).
i hate my life right now. i dread going into school. my mental health is plummeting, my depression is getting very bad… i pray i’ll get sick or be in the hospital so i don’t have to go into that place. the only thing getting me through was spring break and now graduation. i don’t have issues with the kids, but everything else i hate. i’m on break now and can’t imagine making more freaking notes and lecturing every day. and i have no care or motivation to look or do anything more than that. the second i start thinking about it the dread comes back and i feel trapped. the thought of teaching for real sometimes sounds fun but sometimes sounds like hell.
i know we are desperate for teachers right now, and my friends in my cohort haven’t really offered any support. they think it’s just my teacher ruining it (yes 100%) but also that i should just give it a try because of the teacher shortage and stuff. but like… if i do teach and hate my life that’s a whole year that students are stuck with a teacher who is checked out.
then i try to think about what i do like while i’m there, and i do enjoy talking and working with the kids. but i literally hate everything else. i don’t care enough to helicopter over the students and make sure they’re working on math the whole time, i don’t care if students are checked out bc that’s on them (they’re 16, they can make their own decisions). but then, listening to my peers stories makes me laugh and think maybe i can do this. but when it comes to everything else… i just can’t.
i know i have to finish my degree. so, any suggestions on how to make the most of it? career wise, how do i know if teaching is or isn’t for me or if my depression and situation is clouding my judgement? i will take all of the advice i can get. thank you in advance.

2023.03.20 23:22 Possible-Pack9699 Metroid 2/Super Metroid Pitch Meeting

Producer Guy(PG): So you have some Metroid squeals for me?
Screenwriter Guy(SG): Yes sir I do. One for the Gameboy and the other for the SNES.
PG: Amazing. I can't wait to see what Metroid's gonna get up to next.
SG: Sir her name is Samus Aran.
PG: Bless you.
SG: Anyway, let's start with Metroid 2; The Return of Samus.
PG: Oh did Metroid go somewhere?
SG: Not really. Just a way of saying Samus is back on another adventure.
PG: Well ok then. So what happens in this thing?
SG: Well after the events of Metroid 1, the Galactic Federation finds out that the Metroids originated from this other planet called SR388, and it's crawling with Metroids and mutated versions of Metroids.
PG: What kind of Metroids?
SG: Oh we're talking Alpha , Gamma, Zeta, Omega, Queen Metroids, just a bunch of Metroids sir.
PG: Sounds awesome.
SG: Yeah well the Federation doesn't think so since they are a threat to the galaxy so they send Samus to SR388 to you know, Kill Every Metroid On The Planet!
PG: Oh my god!
SG: Yeah yeah yeah. So Samus goes there with none of her previous upgrades from before.
PG: What why?
SG: Because if she did the game would be over in five minutes. Plus this planet also happens to have upgrades just scattered around for her to collect.
PG: Fair enough.
SG: And Samus is just gonna tear through Metroids like it's no tomorrow. She's showing no mercy to these guys.
PG: Ok.
SG: But then she's gonna find a Baby Metroid that just hatched and she's gonna adopt it as her own.
PG: Wasn't she just slaughtering Metroids with no remorse? Why would Metroid leave this Metroid alive?
SG: Because.
PG: That works.
SG: And so Samus and the Baby Metroid head back to her ship and she takes it to the Federation to experiment on.
PG: Seems kind of cruel don't you think?
SG: Well they plan on using the Metroid to help create cures for diseases so it's for a good cause. You can get away with any illegal experiments as long as it's for the good of everyone.
PG: Fair enough.
SG: And so yeah. That ends Metroid 2 which leads right into the third game.
PG: And what's this third game called?
SG: Super Metroid.
PG: Oh is that a new Metroids species?
SG: No, that's just the name of the game sir.
PG: Oh really?
SG: Yup. So just as Samus leaves the research lab where the Baby Metroid is, Ridley and space pirates attack the lab.
PG: Wait, Ridley!? I thought he died in the first game.
SG: He did sir. But people really liked Ridley back then so I'd figure we bring him back and have him steal the Baby Metroid and bring it back to Zebes.
PG: Well ok then.
SG: So Samus has to return the Zebes to recover the Baby Metroid from the space pirates before they can start creating new Metroids, but she doesn't have her powerups anymore.
PG: Didn't you say this game takes place right after Metroid 2. How did Metroid lose her powers that quickly?
SG: She just does sir.
PG: Oh a very forgetful Metroid.
SG: Exactly. So Samus has to reexplore Zebes and it's new areas to take down not only Ridley, but Kraid, Phantoon, and Draygon to reach the Baby Metroid's location, along with coming across new upgrades as well.
PG: What kind of upgrades are we talking about?
SG: Well there's the speed booster that allows Samus to run at Sonic Speed.
PG: What?
SG: Mach Speed sir.
PG: That's what I thought you said.
SG: There's the grapple beam that allow Samus to cling to walls and enemies, Super Missles, Power Bombs, a Scan Visor that allows players to look through walls since that was a main complaint about the first game.
PG: That seems like a good upgrade to have at the start.
SG: It comes in roughly 75% of the way through the game.
PG: Oh my god.
SG: There's also some other bosses like Chozo Statues and this guy Crocomire, but the main four bosses are the ones that matter.
PG: Are they super easy to defeat like in the first game?
SG: Well I mean if the players were somehow able to sequence break and get Super Missles early Kraid becomes a huge joke and Draygon can go down easily thanks to the Grapple Beam, and just spamming missiles into Phantoon will kill him quickly, but otherwise they're all tough bosses, especially Ridley.
PG: Amazing.
SG: And so yeah. Samus kills all four bosses and makes her way back to Tourian where it turns out Mother Brain is back.
PG: What?
SG: Yeah, somehow Mother Brain returned, and she really wants to kill Samus this time.
PG: Does she change up her attack pattern at all?
SG: It's the exact same as before and she goes down pretty quickly.
PG: Huh.
SG: But then she grews a body and blasts Samus with a lazer knocking her down to critical health.
PG: Oh, it's gonna be hard for Metroid to get out of this situation.
SG: Actually it's gonna be Super Easy, Barely an Inconvienience.
PG: Oh really?
SG: Yeah you see, the Baby Metroid from before grew super large and sucks the life out of her and attaches to Samus to give her power.
PG: Oh sucking someone's life energy and giving it to someone else is...
SG: But then Mother Brain reanimates and kills The Baby.
PG: ... Please tell me Metroid kills her after that.
SG: She does sir. But then she needs to get off Zebes as it's about to blow up.
PG: Good.
SG: But not before she saves some animals as well.
PG: Why?
SG: So we can bring them in for a sequel that's why.
PG: Well ok then.
SG: And so yeah. Zebes blows up and Samus escapes. So what do you think?
PG: Well it sounds like a great set of games. And it's cool we're bringing Ridley back as well. I can't wait to see him in future games.
SG: Oh no, he's dead sir. Like completely dead for real.
PG: Oh. Well bummer.
SG: Well look at it this way, if we make more Metroid games in the future, we can set them before the events of Metroid 1 to give Ridley a whole lot more screentime.
PG: Amazing. I'm sure everyone gonna love seeing Ridley return in future games.

WIP: to all the BTS fans-I need your help! (Pls don't kill me)
Heyo! Long story short, this is for a birthday present for one of my classmates. She asked me to draw some of the BTS members, which she's quite into. But well, I have no clue about BTS and don't even know these people's names, so I don't know if I did them justice or not (probably not lol). My art style ist more anime style, so this is my first time drawing really realistic and portraits.
So, don't be too harsh on me, I just need to know if these Walmart versions of BTS members look at least 50% like their originals and mostly if they're recognizable. + obiviously every other critic, advice and feedback!
Thanks!

2023.03.20 23:22 hooontaaah Catalytic Converter Shields - Worth it?

Have you or someone you know had their catalytic converter stolen DESPITE the fact that they installed a cat shield?
I had mine stolen on new year's eve and am still waiting for the replacement to come in. I've done a lot of reading about the shield, and it does seem like it's enough of a deterrent to make the thief walk to the next car. But I figured I would ask the public. I'd obviously rather pay the ~ $200 for the shield than pay for another cat, but even that isn't an easy purchase these days. Any and all insight is welcome. Thanks.

Mine is that chain lightening shouldn't do %25 more damage to bosses when there is only you and the boss in the room. It makes boss fights too easy. Cast chain light until you're out of mana, dodge mechanics, repeat.
What do you wish you would have submitted. There's still elrinennext weekend to submit your feedback to the devs. Post it here then copy paste it when the open beta comes up next.

2023.03.20 23:22 Marshie2006 Trying my darndest at 4B hair

So I'm making a comic and the main character is black. I wanted to actually try and work with a different hair type then I usually do, that being 4B. I didn't want to make her hair too much different than any of my other characters in it's intricacies since I usually make some intricate hair designs for protagonists. Her hair is half loose on one side and the other side is rows that lead into one big twist braid. I've been drawing her for a long time (a few months now really) and I've only recently noticed that I've never drawn the back of her head. I've already had to do it once and I only barely made that look passible because of the size of the frame and the color but now I'm changing up the style for a dramatic sequence and I have to draw it again. Hey everyone,
A good client has asked us to find a video-conferencing solution they can pack into a project for a large client. They think they'll install 30-40 meeting rooms, and we'll inherit management once delivered.
We're trying to find something relatively easy to install or learn how to—also, ease of management and compatibility with M365.
What's y'all experience using something like Barco Clickshare or Teams Room? What else is out there?

Just beat Evil Within 2 fun game, there are some small quirks and some fun ones. One of those quirks is an ability, that allows you to do sneak attacks around corners, and to those who don't know Evil Within 2 is a survival horror so you need to save all you resources and you giga can when you gain this skill where the game turns to into baby mode. Aggro an enemy go to the corner and kill it. Repeat this to enemies that can get sneak killed which is 85% of enemy roster.

2023.03.20 23:22 Glass-Bobcat9926 Best Router 2023

Figuring out what the best router for your needs can be complicated. We've tested the top Wi-Fi router brands so you can find the right one for your needs.

Take a look at this list: https://quizience.com/best-wi-fi-routers-for-2022/

TP-Link Archer AX21
Best budget router

Wi-Fi Standard

Wi-Fi 6

Speed Rating

AX1800

Range

Up to 2,500 sq. ft.

Wireless Networking Security

WPA3

Bands

Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)

Available for $100 (or less if you catch a sale), the TP-Link Archer AX21 is an entry-level, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router that supports top speeds of up to 1,201Mbps (1.2Gbps) on its 5GHz band. It's nothing fancy, but it offered near flawless performance for small- to medium-size homes in our tests, and it's a cinch to setup and use thanks to TP-Link's Tether app.

Best of all, when tested against other, similar routers from names like Asus and Netgear, the AX21 held its own with faster download speeds, better range, and low latency, too. Add in a functional bandsteering mode that automatically steers you between the 2.4 and 5GHz bands within a single network, plus guest network controls and even a quality of service engine for prioritizing traffic to the most important devices on your network, and you're looking at a decent home networking upgrade that's as simple and affordable as it gets. It isn't powerful enough to max out speeds on a gigabit network, but it can still hit consistent close-range speeds near 700Mbps or so, which is more than enough for most households. Read our TP-Link Archer AX21 review.

Linksys Hydra Pro 6 (MR5500)
Best midrange router

Wi-Fi Standard

Wi-Fi 6

Speed Rating

AX5400

Range

Up to 2,700 sq. ft.

Wireless Networking Security

WPA2, WPA3

Bands

Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)

If you've already got a budget router running your network and you're ready to upgrade to something more powerful, the Linksys Hydra Pro 6 belongs high on your list. With a dual-band, AX5400 build, full support for Wi-Fi 6, and 160MHz channel support for moving data more efficiently, it was an excellent performer in my speed tests, even managing to outperform flashier picks like the also great Asus RT-AX86U.

The Hydra Pro 6 is a touch pricey as dual-band routers go, but the steady, consistent performance makes it a standout. Try and catch it on sale if you can, but if you just want a reliable, no-frills router that can keep up with gigabit speeds, look no further. Read our Linksys Hydra Pro 6 review.

TP-Link Deco W7200
Best mesh router overall

Wi-Fi Standard

Wi-Fi 6

Speed Rating

AX3600

Range

Up to 5,500 sq. ft. (two devices)

Wireless Networking Security

WPA2, WPA3

Bands

Tri-Band (2.4 and two 5GHz)

For the best performance from your mesh router, you'll want to prioritize getting one with support for Wi-Fi 6, plus a tri-band design that includes three separate bands of traffic: the usual 2.4 and 5GHz bands, plus an additional 5GHz band that the system can use as a dedicated wireless backhaul for transmissions between the router and its satellites. Most mesh routers like that cost at least $300 or even $400, but the TP-Link Deco W7200 gets you there for less than $250.

That's the best deal I've seen for a tri-band mesh router with support for Wi-Fi 6 -- and sure enough, it's an excellent performer, as well. In fact, the only system that managed to outperform it outright in my at-home speed tests is the AX6000 version of Netgear Orbi, which costs more than three times as much (keep reading for more on that one). On top of that, TP-Link's setup process is about as easy as it gets, with satellite extenders that automatically join the mesh as soon as you plug them in. Read our TP-Link Deco W7200 review.

Asus RT-AX86U
Best gaming router

Wi-Fi standard

Wi-Fi 6

Speed Rating

AX5700

Range

Up to 2,500 sq. ft.

Wireless Networking Security

WPA3

Bands

Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)

Gaming routers promise high performance and low latency for die-hard gamers, and it isn't uncommon to find them selling for $300 or even $400. At about $270 or less, the Asus RT-AX86U dual-band router isn't inexpensive either, but it's a strong value relative to routers like those -- and the performance it delivers as a gaming router is flat-out great.

Most noteworthy is the router's latency management. In fact, it leads all of the routers I've ever tested, gaming or otherwise, with the lowest average latency across all of my tests, which online gamers will definitely appreciate. Something else you'll appreciate: An excellent mix of app-based controls and features, including a mobile boost mode, that lets you prioritize gaming traffic to your phone at the touch of a button.

Gaming features aside, the RT-AX86U offers full support for Wi-Fi 6, with strong, stable speeds and good range. If you need additional range, you can add other Asus "AIMesh" devices to your home network to make it the centerpiece of a mesh.

That checks off all of the boxes that most people want from a good gaming router, and it gets you there at a price that isn't too painful for us to recommend. Even if you aren't a gamer, this is still one of the best Wi-Fi 6 routers you can buy right now. Read our list of the best gaming routers.

2023.03.20 23:21 mgoblue5783 The only thing my hard left, LGBTQ niece and I, a neo-conservative Zionist agree on…

…Is that the bizarre claim that Arabs are indigenous to Canaan/Palestine/Syria is historically false.
Arabs come from Arabia. They arrived in the land by conquest and war in the 7th century. They built a mosque on top of the indigenous people’s holiest place, the most egregious sign of colonialism imaginable.
Jews come from Judea. They’ve had a 2000 year old dream to return to their land and Arab invaders are not a good reason to deny such a dream.
Y’all should support indigenous folks but at least take a look at a history book before saying the Arabs come from there and the Jews are outsiders. It’s nonsense and not helpful for anyone— it makes the leftists look like ignorant hippies and so it’s easy to disregard any other arguments.
Start with facts. The Jews are the first in time and last in conquest and have the best claim to the land.
It’s impossible to make peace or even reason with people who distort basic facts. How is this such a pervasive, giant lie? It’s so important to the modern Jew’s understanding of fairness and anti-Semitism.
Who are the people who believe such non-sense? What’s to be done?

2023.03.20 23:21 7unlucky Would it be ok for me to make a rosary?

I was baptized Catholic, but my family has since switched to being Lutheran. I am not sure if my faith is strong enough, but I feel a draw to the rituals and set prayers of Catholicism. I have memorized the Our Father and the Hail Mary, and will work to memorize the other prayers. I don’t say them every day, but I do say them occasionally. I would put the rosary in my pocket if I was going to say something decidedly unchristlike, and would only wear it as a necklace for big tests (like the AP tests coming up in 6 weeks) and stuff like that. Do you guys think it would be ok?

2023.03.20 23:21 bugnuker [Hiring] (Online) JavaScript SDK Developers

We have a JavaScript SDK (https://github.com/AuthArmoautharmor-jsclient-sdk) that we need some help with.
The SDK currently works but we've heard feedback from some developers that it is hard to use and could use some refactoring. I'm not a JavaScript expert, so I am unable to tell you exactly what we need to change to make the SDK easier to use and consume for developers.
We are looking for someone that has experience creating SDKs for public consumption. The ideal candidate will have experience creating easy to use tools that are simple for developers to consume.
This SDK supports vanilla JavaScript and react. We need to keep that support, and hopefully add some support for Vue and other frameworks.
The functionality of this SDK is working as expected - we are not trying to add any new functionality - we are trying to refactor the SDK to make it easier to use for developers. We would like to avoid a re-write if possible, but we can discuss if it can be done within our budget.
If you wish to apply, please send info on what SDKs you've worked on. Please checkout our existing SDK as well.
Thanks

2023.03.20 23:21 Pvt_Blu Nurse fun but too powerful

I tried out Nurse she is fun blinking around and surprise hitting survivors but she feels too powerful. First game I got a easy 3k with 1 DC. Second got a DC as well and I had plenty of chances to final hook the survivors but it did not do it because it felt wrong.
The point is: How do I play her without making the game miserable for the survivors?

2023.03.20 23:20 AshleyN2017 Replacement Cat Name

TLDR: I’m adopting a female cat named “Meow Meow” and want a new, similar sounding name.
I’m about to adopt a cat who’s been called “Meow Meow” for the last few months. While this name is undoubtedly cute, I just can’t imagine taking her to the vet, and stating that her name is Meow Meow to the receptionist. So I’m looking for a new name that sounds somewhat similar to help her recognize it. I’m drawing a blank though. I’d appreciate your help!

2023.03.20 23:20 chiefnonut What is the chance of airport delays due to weather in the summer?

Hello,
I am looking at flying to the US from Norway, and one of the many options is stopping at Keflavik Airport. My only problem with this option is weather due to possible delays: how bad and unpredictable does the weather get in the summer? Are there days where all flights are cancelled because of the weather? It would really suck to have my flight cancelled because of weather in the summer.

I will have to make a stopover at least one time either way, either in central europe or in Iceland.

I tried to search for this, but the only weather delays I could find were from the winter due to snow storms. I am travelling in the middle of summer.

Thanks a lot!

Linksys Hydra Pro 6 (MR5500)
