2023.06.07 11:22 bourbonbarrelnorth How To Build A Whiskey or Wine Barrel Liquor Cabinet
Are you a whiskey or wine enthusiast looking to add a touch of rustic charm to your home decor? Look no further! In this guide, we will walk you through the process of building your very own whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet. With a few simple steps and some creativity, you can transform a reclaimed whiskey barrel into a unique and functional piece of furniture. So let's dive in and discover how you can create your own whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet
Gather the Materials:
The first step in building your whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet is to gather all the necessary materials. Here's a list of what you'll need:
A reclaimed whiskey or wine barrel: You can find these online or at local antique stores.
Tools: Drill, jigsaw, screws, screwdriver, measuring tape, sandpaper.
Wood for shelves and door: Choose a wood type that complements the barrel's aesthetic.
Hardware: Hinges, handles, and a latch for the cabinet door.
Prepare the Barrel:
Before you start assembling your whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet, it's important to prepare the barrel. Clean the barrel thoroughly, removing any dirt or residue from its previous use. Sand the surface to smoothen any rough edges and ensure a clean working space. Take care to maintain the barrel's natural charm and character during the process.
Design and Measurements:
Decide on the design and layout of your liquor cabinet. Measure the barrel's dimensions and plan the placement of shelves and the door. Consider the size of your whiskey or wine bottles and glassware to determine the shelf spacing. Sketch out your design on paper or use design software to visualize the final product.
Cutting and Assembly:
Using a jigsaw or a similar cutting tool, carefully cut out the door opening on the barrel. Ensure that the door opening aligns with your design and measurements. Next, cut the wooden shelves according to the determined sizes and sand them to a smooth finish.
Attach the shelves inside the barrel using screws or brackets, ensuring they are level and sturdy. Install hinges and a latch for the door, allowing it to swing open and close securely.
Once the assembly is complete, give your whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet a final touch. Apply a protective finish to the wooden surfaces to enhance their durability and showcase the natural beauty of the wood. Consider staining or varnishing the barrel for added appeal.
Buying Online Whiskey Barrel Bars:
If you're not inclined to build your own whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet, you can explore the option of buying one online. Many online retailers offer a wide variety of whiskey barrel bars and cabinets to suit your preferences. Search for reputable sellers who provide detailed product descriptions, high-quality images, and positive customer reviews. Take measurements and consider the dimensions carefully to ensure it fits your space.
Conclusion: Building your own whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet is a rewarding and creative project that adds a touch of uniqueness to your home. Whether you choose to craft one from scratch or buy online, a whiskey barrel liquor cabinet serves as a stunning centerpiece that beautifully displays your collection. So roll up your sleeves, embrace your DIY spirit, and indulge in the pleasure of owning a whiskey or wine barrel liquor cabinet that reflects your style and passion for spirits.

2023.06.07 10:30 Lolalamb224 Problems after moving in with boyfriend in filthy apartment
Hello everyone, first time posting in this sub.
TLDR: Moved in with boyfriend who has a filthy apartment. Our standards are vastly different and it’s causing lots of tension.
I (33f) just relocated to Spain from the US to live with my partner (36m). We had met one year ago when I was on a trip in Spain and continued to chat and develop our long-distance relationship over the months. Finally, he offered to help me arrange my papers and we decided I would move in with him in Spain and apply for residency together. I feel committed to this relationship because I am beholden to him for immigration reasons but also because I love him and think we are very compatible and this will be a fun adventure. He’s a wonderful compassionate person and very doting.
However, there have been major stresses as we merge two households into one small apartment that served as his bachelor pad for the last five years. The place is filthy! Tons of black mold in the bathroom, sewage smell, odor from cat litter boxes as well as litter kicked all over the ground by the kitten who is still learning to conduct herself. The house is filled with cat hairs and dander and dust, which really aggravates my cat allergies that boyfriend knew about already. My bf was previously accustomed to smoking indoors, which left yellow smoke stains on the walls and on furniture. The towels reek of mildew, and the bed is horrible. The mattress and the frame are both super low quality (many apartments here come furnished so the landlord has no incentive to provide anything high-quality) and boyfriend has been sleeping on a back-destroyer without noticing presumably for years.
The decoré is horrendous. Imagine a frat house in terms of design sense. There’s a large framed photo of himself as a baby mounted on the wall right as you enter the house, next to a framed photo of a soccer player and another photo of a Spanish rapper. I’m like…. You understand this is insane right? Who has a framed photo of themself as a baby in their home? That’s so embarrassing. The rugs, pillows, everything is covered in dander and stained from cigarettes to the point that they all have to be replaced.
I found out that his mom has come over and done a deep clean on his apartment when he was out of town in February. She was so shocked by the state of his apartment when she came to feed his cats that she took matters into her own hands. My bf got defensive and apparently didn’t internalize any shame about his unacceptable apartment hygiene after that.
Well it has been about a month now that I am working on finding solutions to the mold, to the odors, the litter boxes, the smoke stains and so on. For me, a clean home is a HIGH priority. Because of my cat allergies I need his commitment to sweeping daily and keeping this place dander and dust-free. I’m making trips to the store daily to get more organization tools that this place needs to help us manage to fit two peoples’ stuff into one apartment. My boyfriend has been very helpful in addressing the mold by cleaning every weekend with special products to address the mold. He has stopped smoking indoors. He comes home and sweeps and takes care of the litter almost every day after work.
However, it’s clear that he resents the tasks that he has to do now. He resents being robbed of his filthy bachelor pad. But I told him, I absolutely am not a young bachelor and will not live like one. If you want a live-in girlfriend, you have to raise your standards because no woman finds this attractive or wants to live like this. In fact, it has made me really question what type of person can live in filth and what type of GROWN man lets their mother come over and deep clean. I would be so embarrassed.
As you can imagine, this has caused a LOT of stress in the beginnings of our new relationship. I really wish he had organized and cleaned the apartment before I arrived, but now I have spent all my time in the last month organizing his shit and trying to deal with the five years of filth he has allowed to accumulate here.
I don’t think I have ever been cruel to him but I have been direct that this situation is unacceptable and every day there’s more work to do to get this space into a tenable state. As time goes on, he is becoming more and more irritated that the house still isn’t “finished”. He comes home from work already in a grumpy mood and does the basic cleaning that is required and lends me a hand with whatever organization task needs to be done. But he clearly resents me for it.
Yesterday as he was sweeping the bedroom, he was slamming doors and making a bunch of noise which is very triggering for me. He left for band practice and came home later and wanted to cook together and talk but I was too tired to have a conversation. I explained that having nuanced conversations like this can be difficult in a second language for me and didn’t want to talk and just wanted to rest. He then started threatening to break up with me and move out.
What am I supposed to do in this situation? This grown ass man has invited me to live with him but it’s taking a serious amount of labor to make the apartment livable and our relationship is not on good terms now as a result.
I am exhausted, because I require a place for my things (I still haven’t been able to fully unpack because of the mountains of clutter taking up valuable space in this apartment), an apartment free of mold/allergens, and I require an adequate bed (that’s another long story unfortunately).
He’s exhausted because he’s no longer able to live with the same low standards as before. He works full time and has a band and instead of being able to come home and unwind, he feels pressure to clean in his only downtime instead of kick his feet up for a few minutes.
After the threats he made yesterday, I don’t know where to go from here. Does it come down to me vs the filth? How do we work this out?
Thanks for reading!

Are you tired of shopping at normal stores like a regular person? Worry no more because you've stumbled upon the realm of Woot! Brace yourselves for a journey through the land of irresistible discounts, quirky products, and self-deprecating sarcasm. Let's go.
1. What is Woot!?
Prepare to have your world turned upside down with deals and disappointment because Woot! is a place where it all comes true. It's like that genie in a lamp, but instead of granting wishes, it throws crap and deals your way. - The Woot! Shenanigan Lexicon: Prepare yourself for a crash course in Woot! escapade lingo. Here’s the run down of what we’re talking about:
- Bags of Crap (BoC): It's like winning the lottery, only worse! Get a surprise box filled with random goodies. Warning: It might contain things you never knew you needed (or didn't want at all). Disappointment is expected in these purchases. They're only $10, and our site crashes every time we try to sell one. Sorry not sorry.
- Woot-Off: Every month, our Clearance page flips into Woot-Off mode for 12-14 hours. Brand new deals (and occasionally BoCs) pop up every 30 minutes or less, and the quantities are low, so they don’t last long.
- Deal-o-Meter: We offer up a product at a typically good price, but we give you the chance to vote to make it even lower. Happens on our special Deal-O-Meter page every other week, unless we go wild and run a bunch in a row for things like Mischief Days.
- WTF Pricing: WTF is short for Woot!'s Totally Fun Pricing, where we list a product with limited quantity for $1 and then raise the price every 10 minutes, until we reach a “final” price and/or it sells out. We run these a few times a year when we wanna make people go crazy.
- OMG Deals: OMG is an Outrageous Mystery Goody. We take something, make it cheap but don’t really tell you what it is. Why? We have our reasons. But they are good ones. We drop clues on the product page to hint at what the product is, but you have a limited time to buy, so you might have to take the plunge without knowing...
- MIDNIGHT MOBILE MADNESS: Try to snag a $1 app-only deal at midnight on the app! Better act fast, the deals sell out in a few minutes. Usually runs for 4 nights every Mobile Week.
- GIVEAWAYS: We giveaway something EVERY dang week, from home goods to Amazon gift cards to mega-sized Bags o’ Crap...like, big-enough-to-need-a-forklift big.
- Customer Review: Check out what one customer has to show and say about their Woot! BOC unboxing experience:
- The Woot! Lifestyle: Shopping at Woot! is not just a hobby; it's a hobby! The rugged committed have been with us since 2004 and they're serious. So, before you embark on this new journey, here's what being a Wooter entails:
- Don't be surprised if your cart is filled with things you never knew existed.
- Share your absurd purchases with fellow Wooters in our forums.
- Stay ready for the chance to snag a BOC when they drop.
- Get the Woot app so you can score Appsclusive deals and coupons.
- Follow us on social for the latest and greatest crappy content.

2023.06.07 04:29 PrettyFlyWhiteGuy22 How’s this look aesthetically? Help?

Let’s just focus on the black bookshelf for now.
I apologize for bombarding this community with posts, but I’ve recently gotten back into collecting and have been wanting to show off.
I’m an avid book readecollector also, and have turned my sun room into a makeshift library/collection room.
I don’t mind the room being cluttered with furniture so much, as I’m wanting plenty of space to store everything. However, I don’t want for each piece of furniture to seem “too” cluttered individually.
So that being said, focusing on the black bookshelf, how does this look aesthetically? Should I add more books? More figures/statues? If you’re bored you can look at my past posts in this community as well as the DragonBallSuper
community to see various zords/figures I have to swap out with (again, only if you’re bored, I know that’s a hassle).
Thanks in advance for any advice! I’m not very seasoned on the presentation aspect of collecting.
2023.06.07 02:36 Bright_Promotion_330 [PC Server] Paws and Claws PvE Cluster (Fjordur, Gen 2, Primal Fear + more) 5x Tame/Harvest/Farm - 25x Baby Hatch/Growth - Active Discord!

We are a laid back, active community that is also very active in the Discord!
If you ever have any questions or concerns we’re there to help! And its a great place to ask for a little assistance when you’ve found yourself in a sticky situation. We have a variety of new and veteran players so wherever you fall on that scale, we’d love to have you! We also have two Conan Exiles servers as well if that interests you! We also have people playing a variety of other games as well if that interests you! Maps
In our cluster we have two main maps, Fjordur and Gen 2. These maps do not wipe, and the only changes made to them are event based, or adding mods by community vote. We have a 3rd map that rotates every week, giving players a chance to do bosses and obtain tames not available on any of the ‘home’ servers. (Extended for tough maps like Extinction by community vote).
Our 4th server is set up with Primal Fear! Transfers are open so feel free to take dinos and items over but remember, Primal Fear dinos cannot be transferred to a non PF server. Starter Packs
Starting on a new ARK server can be fun but the early game grind can really be a chore. If you’d like a little boost to get you started, we have a free starter pack in the TC Auto Rewards Vault! Just head on over to our Welcome Center and use the one located inside the doors. If you are unable to locate the welcome center you can teleport there with an Omni Tool! Just make one with 1 thatch. There are also other items in the community center you can take, graciously donated by other players on the map. TC Auto Rewards Vault
One of the mods that we utilize is the TC Auto Rewards Vault. This allows us to give you a currency to purchase different items in the store! We have rotating dino packs with various dinos and one specifically for modded dinos (They can be tough or impossible to get on some servers). We also have hard to get items like honey and milk(mod)! You will receive 10 ARc for every 15 minutes of gameplay, along with 100 per week that trickles in daily. Events
We host a whole slew of events like hide-and-seek, geocaching, various races and other unique challenges! These events come with prizing that can range anywhere from sets of breeding dinos to dino recolors, or element and other resources/items!
We also tend to run bosses together on the rotating maps and there is always someone providing armor and resources so you can join in on the fun even if you yourself aren’t prepared to run bosses yet!
We also rotate out events based on community interest such as the Easter event, Halloween etc. We know this doesn’t give all of the benefits of the event when its the wrong time of the year, however it does allow different dino colors to spawn! Giving a little variation to your tames.

2023.06.07 02:34 TwistTim Too Many Donations
I don't even have to ask my regular customers anymore about donations as they are looking to mash the red button for it at the end of every transaction.
I've only been here since the middle of 21. But this year it seems excessive, ~9 days out of 156 of us not asking people to donate.
I don't doubt these are good charities (for the most part, I can't say I see what the Big Lots Foundation actually does, but I trust it's not terrible....)and it's great to give to Mental Health, and The Heart Association and Veterans Advocacy are all good and noble things, but with inflation getting out of hand this is pushing people off of us.....
add that we have to push credit cards at people in my store/district and we have issues with items not ringing the right price (so we as customer service must stop and go to another terminal and print tags mid order, since it takes a manager override to fix it otherwise, and staffing issues. well it's getting worse from a CS perspective on the ground floor. My store was hopping 24/7 now I'm lucky to stay busy enough to justify myself, the floor person in the afternoon, our manager and furniture person being there, let alone try to pitch for more help.
Everyone who is saying we are likely a dying company is right, and we are doing it to ourselves.

I just need to talk about it So the choices are climate change or securing/ storing of personal items.
I came up with six ideas outlines
1 a puzzle box because they are cool and I already designed a Japanese yosegi box in fusion 360
2 a puzzle box that doesn't look like a box at all. My idea is a wooden vase with turning disks. Like a combination lock the ring need to be in the correct position for the bottom to come out. Again mocked up in fusion 360
- A small peice of puzzle furniture jnspured by some of the works of Craig thibodeau. My current rough idea is a small peice of shelving but if you remove the shelves it reveals a false back to stor your valuables.
- A hidden drawer behind or onto of another drawer. I don't know what they are called but if you look up hidden drawers it's that. Just one of those.
- A drawer hidden in plain sight like old antique furniture
6.a picture frame with a picture on that can roll back into the frame.
So for context I'm quite good with 3d modeling and I have been asked to help teachers on occasion. So I can do quite a lot. For instance I know some tips and tricks to convert a cad file into a better laser cut file which is what I used when I made my phone stand.
At the very bottom is an idea dump.
For number six I had an idea where the paing could roll back like a tambour box. So what I'll probably do is get a picture and then turn it into line art that I'll laser cut onto the different wood pieces for the sort of caterpillar track. Because I'm worried about moisture numbers 2 will have fake flowers and maybe stones instead of soil like a bonsai. Quite frankly i dont know what's possible but I like doing this so I'll to my best

2023.06.07 01:24 robot_recreation Hoarding and Abuse?
CW: Mentions of abuse and parental incest, descriptions of gross hoarder houses
I (22) was abused by both of my parents mentally, physically, and sexually. I was also neglected, in large part because of their animal hoarding. From I was 9 to 13 I lived in a house with both of my parents that they'd bought. It was falling apart when we moved in and just got worse with time. There was a large hole in the kitchen ceiling letting rain leak indoors, most of the walls were covered in half-striped wallpaper, and at it's peak there were over a dozen cats in the house (up from 4 when we moved in, all stray or feral). Several rooms were just used to store my father's trash hoard, and due to the negligence and animal hoarding there was cat shit just...everywhere. I slept on a mattress soaked in cat piss and woke up to cat shit on my bed daily for longer than I'd like to remember. I was flea-bitten for years, but my mother told my school the scabs were from scratching excessively due to my Autism so nothing was done about it.
A lot of these issues reoccurred after my parents separated and I lived with just my mother, who had attributed all the hoarding to my father. The bathroom ceiling fell in over the toilet never to be repaired, she gradually started accumulating more animals, making excuses for why she couldn't give them away or get them neutered. None of the animals were really trained, and we ended up cycling through cheap charity shop furniture because the dog kept eating (and humping, and pissing on) the chairs. When I was 19 we were kicked out by the landlord, at which point she had 8 cats and a border collie living in a small townhouse with no backyard, all indoor only. You know it stank in there. Interestingly it was possible to rehome or find a foster for all of them within 2 weeks. She did all of this while claiming benefits for being my "carer", and she of course told everyone about how she was a poor single mother caring for a disabled child and was made homeless just for having pets.
This was obviously all very traumatic and dehumanising, especially since my parents were also very controlling and isolating so I was basically socialised more as an abused pet than a human child, but the question I'm wondering is how common is this situation? It makes a lot of sense that people who abuse children would also hoard animals since they're vulnerable, easy to control, can be projected onto, and can't complain about mistreatment, but I haven't been able to find anyone with a story like mine. If you were raised like me, firstly I'm so fucking sorry, secondly do you have any advice or stories to share for other survivors?

His equipment, however, was still intact: His power sword (or power machete, some would say) "Flesh-Splitter" still crackled with the murderous, ever-hungry power field which had a reddish hue due to the weapon's perpetually blood-stained blade. It was broad and heavy with a sharp edge, perfect for hacking heads and limbs apart, and the flat of the blade ended in a protruding spike that was perfect to maim even the most heavily-armored foes. His Storm Bolter, the "Hatred's Roar", possessed by the spirit of a daemon which made every bolt be fired and fly faster producing the characteristic "roar" for which it was named, still laid by his side awaiting slaughter. The Cleaver then checked his blood-red armor, blessed by the Blood God with runes of strength and war, for damage, but found none. This was not a place he was familiar with. Ever since the days of the Horus Heresy and the Great Crusade to the modern campaigns against the corpse-worshippers he had never been to somewhere so disgustingly peaceful. The setting sun gave the streets a dreamy, calm appearance, and a gentle breeze swept through and made the green leaves of the trees dance. The houses were all neatly arranged, painted in tones of white, yellow and pink and surrounded by well-maintained short wooden fences. But Koron grew impatient. The Butcher's Nails pounded against his thoughts, demanding carnage. If there was no combat to be found on this world, then he would make it. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by a squeak, a sound he was barely able to register, but spoken with awe: "WOW DUDE, that's such a sick costume, did you make it yourself?" The Cleaver turned instinctively, but had to look around for some time until he detected the creature from which the words originated. A male mortal. Barely an adult too, by the looks of it. Black hair grew profusely from it's head, making the eyes only barely visible. It was frail in body, even for a mortal, but it seemed of average stature. It wore an unfamiliar garb, not from any of the planets of cultures Koron had know and slaughtered. It also carried a backpack, but the World Eater did not recognize it as being able to contain any sort of weaponry or ammunition. The Cleaver gripped his power sword and was ready to split the feeble mortal in two, but for some reason hesitated. This strange world, with strange people, intrigued him. He wished to know more of his prey. "What is your name, feeble creature?" The warrior spoke, startling the young man and almost making him fall to the ground upon hearing the snarl that came from the giant's throat. "What a pathetic display", Koron thought. "U-Uumm… M-M-My name's Kyle… dude." The mortal spoke in a frightened tone. Every word, every motion of this weakling insulted the World Eater, but he managed to restrain the screaming voices in his head which called for blood. Khorne cared not from where the blood flowed, but Koron felt that offering such a feeble creature as the first sacrifice to the Blood God on this new world would be shameful. There was no honor in staining his armor with the blood of such a wretch. "So uh… What's yours? Y-your name, i mean" The mortal once more spoke. Slightly impressed at the courage the creature managed to build to even dare speak to him, Koron answered: "You stand before Koron the Cleaver, mortal. Commander of the Gut Rippers Warband, slayer of a million foes, scourge of the corpse-worshippers, champion of the Blood God" "That's… so cool, man." the mortal spoke "I work at an electronics store-" Poor Kyle could not even finish his sentence before the hulking chaos marine grabbed him by the collar and raised him up to meet the eyes of his terrific helmet. "No. From this moment forward, you will work for me, mortal." The Cleaver spoke in a low growl that made Kyle shiver and made it clear to him that it was not by any means a request. "Jesus, okay, okay! My house isn't big but i guess you could stay there!" The young man said, averting his gaze. "That will do" The World Eater said, letting go of Kyle "Lead the way, mortal." After a short and very tense walk, they arrived at Kyle's house. The furniture was mortal-sized, unfit for an astartes, but the Cleaver judged it sufficient as a temporary base. "So uh, are you hungry?" Kyle asked his strange guest. "For battle. For carnage." The World Eater answered. "Yeah… i don't think there's any of that around, sorry" "Hrrr…" The Cleaver fumed "Hey hey, no problem, let's find you something to watch" the young man said, rushing for the TV Controller. Kyle switched between channels trying to find something that caught the attention of his companion, until he was interrupted with a resounding "WAIT". Kyle stopped. The channel was playing "Saving Private Ryan", specifically the starting D-Day scene. "This will do." The World Eater said with a hint of satisfaction as he observed the slaughter that unraveled before his eyes. Kyle was a bit disturbed at the childish glee with which his guest (or should it be said captor?) watched the scenes of horrifyingly graphic violence, but decided it was best to leave him to it. "So uh… Can i go to sleep?" He asked the hulking berserker. "Yes. I shall allow it." The Cleaver said in a direct manner. "...Really?" Kyle would soon regret these words as the World Eater's murderous gaze turned to him, freezing him with fear. "Do you take me for a liar, maggot? If i wanted you dead you would be so. Now go have your pathetic rest before i lose what little patience i have!" That was enough to make Kyle bolt toward his room. He didn't want to test what was going to happen if the pressed the monster further. As the youngster rolled around on his bed, praying that the strange warrior would find enough distraction in depictions of war and violence, one thought banged against his head as much as the Butcher's Nails did his companion: "Jesus Christ, what the hell have i gotten myself into?"
