2023.03.20 23:17 Dovvol79 New build for a beginner for $1,200 max.
I've never built a computer before, so this makes me a little nervous, but I know most times you can get a better bang for your buck out of building yourself. I know just enough about computers to get myself in trouble, so I figured I'd come ask some professionals for advice. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated as well.
- >**What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.**
- I'd like to be able to play games on high settings without it stuttering. Games like Hogwarts Legacy, CoD, RDR2 online and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Will do some light streaming on discord from time to time to show friends what I'm playing, but nothing over the 720p. Will also be using Microsoft office sometimes for work.
- >**What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?**
- Max would be around $1,000 - $1,200. Cheaper if possible.
- >**When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.**
- Within a month. Waiting on a couple paychecks.
- >**What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc\)**
- I just need the tower set up.
- >**Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?**
- I'm in Ohio. Nearest Microcenter is a couple hours away.
- >**If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.**
- Mouse and Keyboard are Logitec. Monitors are HP and Dell. I plan on replacing those later.
- >**Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?**
- Never overclocked before, so probably not. Not 100% sure how, honestly.
- >**Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)**
- I would like an SSD or an NVME drive. At least 1 or 2T. Not sure if an HDD drive is good to have as a back up or not. I'm still learning about the drives. I do download most of my games through Steam.
- >**Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?**
- A plain Jane case without lights would be just fine, though I would like a black case.
- >**Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?**
- I will need windows. Not sure on the difference between 10 or 11.
- I would love to have a build that has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or the 3060 Ti. It seems to be a good card for the price. I do want to be able to keep using dual monitors though. I don't care much about the difference between AMD or Icore processors. I would like to be able to upgrade components later if needed.

2023.03.20 23:17 ivyboom 34 [F4R] Colorado/Online - Looking for New Friends
Quick about me: - Recent-ish transplant to Denver - Work in IT - Some of my hobbies include: gaming (mainly Xbox), going to the gym, reading tarot, going to brunch, staring at the moon, and checking out museums.
Working from home has its pros and cons, and lately I’ve been feeling the latter. Being new to the city has me feeling a bit overwhelmed in trying to meet new people.
Looking for: some witty banter, cheesy dad jokes, making inside jokes, texting, friendly debates, engrossing conversations, a gaming buddy, someone to check out different exhibits, and/or someone to bounce workouts off of. I’m not limited to this list, but I’m definitely not looking for anything casual/FWB/hookups.
It would be nice if you’re in the area, however online chatting is totally cool, too.
I hope this finds you well and I look forward to hearing from you.

2023.03.20 23:16 Lex_AquilaZ 28F - Europe - Looking for a friend
Hello! :)
My name is Alex and I am from Europe. I am an introvert and a PC gamer. If you care about personality types, I scored as an INTJ, although some people say I'm an INFJ. No idea which one. In terms of video games, at the moment I am enjoying Valheim a lot. But I am open to other games as well if anyone would like to play something else. I like discussing about a lot of different topics and I especially like deeper conversations. Most topics approached from a global perspective are my go-to, like phycology, our society today, technology and many others. I'm a huge movie and TV series fan as well. I recently finished Shadow and Bone season 2. But I watch a lot of different shows, of different genres. It is very important to me to have in depth conversations with open minded people. And respecting each other and our personal boundaries.
If you resonate with what I said above, send me a DM and we can give it a try. :D
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

2023.03.20 23:16 time_perspctv53042 Top 5 Best Router in 2023
Figuring out what the best router for your needs can be complicated. We've tested the top Wi-Fi router brands so you can find the right one for your needs.
Take a look at this list:
https://quizience.com/best-wi-fi-routers-for-2022/
TP-Link Archer AX21
Best budget router
Wi-Fi Standard
Wi-Fi 6
Speed Rating
AX1800
Range
Up to 2,500 sq. ft.
Wireless Networking Security
WPA3
Bands
Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)
Available for $100 (or less if you catch a sale), the TP-Link Archer AX21 is an entry-level, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router that supports top speeds of up to 1,201Mbps (1.2Gbps) on its 5GHz band. It's nothing fancy, but it offered near flawless performance for small- to medium-size homes in our tests, and it's a cinch to setup and use thanks to TP-Link's Tether app.
Best of all, when tested against other, similar routers from names like Asus and Netgear, the AX21 held its own with faster download speeds, better range, and low latency, too. Add in a functional bandsteering mode that automatically steers you between the 2.4 and 5GHz bands within a single network, plus guest network controls and even a quality of service engine for prioritizing traffic to the most important devices on your network, and you're looking at a decent home networking upgrade that's as simple and affordable as it gets. It isn't powerful enough to max out speeds on a gigabit network, but it can still hit consistent close-range speeds near 700Mbps or so, which is more than enough for most households. Read our TP-Link Archer AX21 review.
Linksys Hydra Pro 6 (MR5500)
Best midrange router
Wi-Fi Standard
Wi-Fi 6
Speed Rating
AX5400
Range
Up to 2,700 sq. ft.
Wireless Networking Security
WPA2, WPA3
Bands
Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)
If you've already got a budget router running your network and you're ready to upgrade to something more powerful, the Linksys Hydra Pro 6 belongs high on your list. With a dual-band, AX5400 build, full support for Wi-Fi 6, and 160MHz channel support for moving data more efficiently, it was an excellent performer in my speed tests, even managing to outperform flashier picks like the also great Asus RT-AX86U.
The Hydra Pro 6 is a touch pricey as dual-band routers go, but the steady, consistent performance makes it a standout. Try and catch it on sale if you can, but if you just want a reliable, no-frills router that can keep up with gigabit speeds, look no further. Read our Linksys Hydra Pro 6 review.
TP-Link Deco W7200
Best mesh router overall
Wi-Fi Standard
Wi-Fi 6
Speed Rating
AX3600
Range
Up to 5,500 sq. ft. (two devices)
Wireless Networking Security
WPA2, WPA3
Bands
Tri-Band (2.4 and two 5GHz)
For the best performance from your mesh router, you'll want to prioritize getting one with support for Wi-Fi 6, plus a tri-band design that includes three separate bands of traffic: the usual 2.4 and 5GHz bands, plus an additional 5GHz band that the system can use as a dedicated wireless backhaul for transmissions between the router and its satellites. Most mesh routers like that cost at least $300 or even $400, but the TP-Link Deco W7200 gets you there for less than $250.
That's the best deal I've seen for a tri-band mesh router with support for Wi-Fi 6 -- and sure enough, it's an excellent performer, as well. In fact, the only system that managed to outperform it outright in my at-home speed tests is the AX6000 version of Netgear Orbi, which costs more than three times as much (keep reading for more on that one). On top of that, TP-Link's setup process is about as easy as it gets, with satellite extenders that automatically join the mesh as soon as you plug them in. Read our TP-Link Deco W7200 review.
Asus RT-AX86U
Best gaming router
Wi-Fi standard
Wi-Fi 6
Speed Rating
AX5700
Range
Up to 2,500 sq. ft.
Wireless Networking Security
WPA3
Bands
Dual-Band (2.4 and 5GHz)
Gaming routers promise high performance and low latency for die-hard gamers, and it isn't uncommon to find them selling for $300 or even $400. At about $270 or less, the Asus RT-AX86U dual-band router isn't inexpensive either, but it's a strong value relative to routers like those -- and the performance it delivers as a gaming router is flat-out great.
Most noteworthy is the router's latency management. In fact, it leads all of the routers I've ever tested, gaming or otherwise, with the lowest average latency across all of my tests, which online gamers will definitely appreciate. Something else you'll appreciate: An excellent mix of app-based controls and features, including a mobile boost mode, that lets you prioritize gaming traffic to your phone at the touch of a button.
Gaming features aside, the RT-AX86U offers full support for Wi-Fi 6, with strong, stable speeds and good range. If you need additional range, you can add other Asus "AIMesh" devices to your home network to make it the centerpiece of a mesh.
That checks off all of the boxes that most people want from a good gaming router, and it gets you there at a price that isn't too painful for us to recommend. Even if you aren't a gamer, this is still one of the best Wi-Fi 6 routers you can buy right now. Read our list of the best gaming routers.

2023.03.20 23:16 gurufabbes123 Air superiority vs intercept (with no land combat) / SS units / parachute drops
I am trying once again to get this game after my last few failed attempts.
Throughout the years I have spent countless hours in online tutorials, but so far have not successfully finished a game.
I am giving Germany a go again.
Here are my questions:
-
SS units: how do you recruit them? I see events to recruit foreign SS units, but what about the German ones? No new template got added when I made Himmler a general. Am I missing something here?
I have seen the AI use them in previous games but not sure how they got them.
-
Air superiority vs intercept: I am in the situation of the Sitzkrieg, where the only thing happening is air combar in Southern Germany involving over 1000 planes on each side, and bombers.
Here's my question. How best to deal with the enemy just using air power? I know air superiorty targets fighters first and intercept stops bombing missions, but what exactly is the best combination, which of both should one use if there is not ground combat happening?
-
Parachute drops: I figured out how they worked but not how to use the effectively. I about 3 units behind enemy lines and they eventually got killed as they are far away from supply lines. So how does one use parachute drops properly?
UPDATE:
After my awful game last time, I managed to actually beat another country aside from Poland: Denmark via naval and ground invasion. Let's see if I can handle Norway.
Last set of attempts

Hello there :) first off let me say I hope that this finds you healthy and safe :)
Well a little about me you ask I assume, lets see what I can dream up. I am a currently working on my weight with some success, I am about 270 lbs, but clocking in at 6'1. I live in the Pacific north west so I am very much on the pale side :P
I like to think of myself as a giant dork who would prefer to keep things lighthearted and fun, but can be serious when the situation calls for it. I love to be sarcastic and you should assume most of what comes out my mouth is sarcasm (still waiting on reddit to make that sarcasm font)
I love all things sports, my favorite being hockey, I can and will chat your ear off about if you give me the chance. I also love following college football and a few other sports. I played soccer trough high school and use to be on a snowboarding team. I have not been to the mountain in years but miss it a lot.
I like to play video game with my friends. I play a lot of random sports games, your normal shooters and what not. My friends play DBD and Phasmaphobia on a regular basis and are always looking for a 4th.
I am very ADD so I will always have an audio book ( I listen to mainly LITRPGs and SCI-FI) or I will have some random show going in the back ground (Think Scrubs, HIMYM, Thats 70s show) Or whatever movie is currently peaking my interest.
I am going to school right now part time to work on a degree in mechanical engineering. I love to know how things work, not exactly sure what I want to do with it yet. I go part time because I work full time and a little.
I could go on and on, but that would kill all the mystery :P I hope to hear from you :)
Have a great day :).

2023.03.20 23:11 Sp_Gamer_Live Update on the Bets (Yes they are coming)
Short and sweet for those who want to know: Yes they are happening, they will be posted daily in the lead up to the
HOME OPENER culminating with the Dog Treat being posted shortly after the game. (If you ping me at the season opener I will judge you)
Note: I am having a Bone Marrow Biopsy (its fun look it up on google and show the kids) done the week before the opener and there’s a small, and I mean very small chance the dog treat gets delayed to a date I can go (Ive had it done dozens of times before but I just wanna give me an out so if im in too much pain I don’t force myself to go. Also if Correa is out of the lineup on opening day I will eat the dog treat at opening pitch
The bets are
- Watch Cats (again) (again)
- Review the Hasselhoff album
- Watch Uno the Movie
- Eat Nanner at dior store
- Rank them sexy lads
- Dog treat during Correa’s first AB

2023.03.20 23:08 Wavesant i9-13900K safe temperature question
Hello. I wasn't too sure if this belongs here but recently I finished putting together a new pc (my second one) and I'm not sure if I should be worried about the temperatures I've been seeing on my i9-13900K CPU.
When simply browsing the internet, my CPU Package temperature is constantly fluctuating between 45-50c with some occasional split-second spikes to 60c. When gaming, the temperature jumps between 75-80c.
Are these temperatures "normal" or at least safe? My only frame of reference is my other PC build which never saw temp like this. It would be 30-40c while browsing and 55-68c while gaming, I never saw my old build even touch 80c unless I was doing hardcore CPU stress tests.
I already tried reseating the cooler (ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 420 btw) and reapplying the thermal paste. This is the first time I've used an AIO so my first thought was that I simply didn't do it right. It didn't actually make much of a difference that I could see, although It's still possible that I'm just not mounting it correctly.
Any advice on what I can do to keep temps down? Or is this just what I should expect from this CPU? I'm getting so many mixed responses online, from people saying that their 13900K never even hits 60c while others are telling me that high temps should be expected. I don't really know what to think or what to do.

Hi everyone, I reconnected with a girl i went on a few dates back in 2021, but due to my severe CPTSD symptoms we stopped the contact, even though she wanted to help me go through that. I never wanted that, but it was really bad at the time and i just couldnt deal with emotions. I went full on on my healing journey after that, i had two psychotherapists specialized in trauma, i read a few books about PTSD and CPTSD, watched close to 100 online lectures about how trauma hijack our minds and bodies and as the result of that, i was able to heal 80% of my triggers and symptoms, if not even more. I am having an active lifestyle now, i dropped weed, actively training bjj which was a game changer, improved on most fields and expecting the promotion at my job. I changed my life for 180°. I am 40 years old and i have never felt so good about myself and life.
A few days ago, due to mutual friend leaving the country, we met again at the farewell party after almost 2 years. It was a bit emotional, but good and we agreed to recconect again as friends. The thing is, she is now the one struggling with anxiety and depression, is on medication and seeing the psychologist. Before it was mostly me who needed support from friends and i was never in position to support and help someone dealing with mental health issues. But, i want to help her and i am not sure how. She is also having avoidant attachment stule and I don't want to put pressure on her and push her away. She was the catalyst of my changes and i still care about her, i really want to be there for her and support her. Could i get some advices how to reach out to her without pushing her away and making her to shut down for me. Thank you in advance!
