2023.06.03 21:59 Sharinganprincess91 [F4M] Fandom Roleplay. Looking for more partners. (Super freaking bored and looking đđ)
Side note: I've added a password, so read carefully. If you message me WITHOUT the password, your messages are automatically IGNORED. tired of getting hit up with people who don't read đ. It's ridiculous cause I've ignored 5+ chats cause none of them contained the password. Things are written for a reason.
Facts about me:
- I have been roleplaying since 2012. Yes, I got experience under my belt, and yes, my ideas usually have really long reads, but don't let that scare you off! After the starter is off, I may lower myself down to a decent paragraph or two, sometimes three! It all depends on what I've got to work with.
- My timezone is EST. I'm awake from 9am - 2am and I'm usually free unless I'm busy doing house chores, out of the house, asleep, or playing video games on my switch. I'm usually become REALLY active at or around 8pm.
Rules:
1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).
6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.
End Note:
Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. I'm just trying to get my point across and roleplay. I'm a very easy going person who loves to make friends on the side (which I've somewhat given up on making friends...only a selective few have actually gained my friendship).
Do not hop into my inbox with a simple 'hey' 'hi' 'sup', etc and for God's sake, don't message me with a 'rp?'and proceed me to flash me with your talliwhacker. I promise you, you'll get your feelings hurt and I'll be here laughing at ya đ. Nobody wants a peen on their screen. Do not send me an image of your one eyed noodle. Thank you. The password is pineapple.

2023.06.03 19:42 MNDude2016 Photo for dating profile and apps.
Hi,
What is prevailing wisdom on posting couple of photos with ex blurred out vs photos without an ex (2-3 out of 8 or so)?
I'm fresh out of a multi-year LTR and a lot of my most recent photos have my ex in it...is it okay to post those with her face covered/blurred? On the one hand, it shows I am capable of committing and having fun with a nice partner in various settings over time, but on the other hand it could be a turn-off for a future match?
I am a male, I don't mind when women post some photos with their ex. But I was interested especially in female take on this. Thank you!

2023.06.03 19:22 muffinkat55 Voice Acting opportunity! Iâm looking for people who are interested in voice acting. Please donât make fun of me..this is something I just wanted to do for fun. All characters are my OCs and weâre made through gacha. Anyone whoâs interested hereâs the information.
Unfortunately, I canât provide pictures of the characters because the subreddit wonât let me, but Iâll add their information. I will also be voicing my character Muffin. I also must specify..this is just for fun! It isnât a huge commitment, NO ONE IS GETTING PAID! Even meâŠitâs just something to have fun with, we will be making clips, skits, and videos of us out of character for my YouTube, TikTok, and maybe Reddit as well. I might make a mini series as well and have some backstory to these characters, but for right now, this was just an impulsive thing I came up with JUST FOR FUN!
DM for the link to the discord server :3
And now for the character info:
Name: Manny

Name: Nolan
Voice Type: Tenohigh male voice

2023.06.03 17:59 Opening_Top_5061 Shaddiqâs view of Miorine says a lot about himself
(Reup because I need to correct the title) His line of dialogue at the end of ep 19 is really unhinged. "Guel, you've defiled her (Miorine)". It's such a typical male gaze of him viewing Miorine as some damsel in distress waiting for a man to come for a rescue. It strips Miorine of her autonomy and rights to make decisions, also the responsibility she has to bear for the time to come. Don't get me wrong, I do not blame Miorine for all of this mess and ultimately it's definitely not her fault but she does need to bear the burden to grow from it at the same time.
I think Shaddiq, as his nickname suggests, always considers himself a "Prince". An outstandingly pompous prince carrying the responsibility of saving Earth, surrounded by skillful female generals who obey him. And given the status he claimed to be, Miorine was perhaps the one Shaddiq considered worthy to be his companion. I won't deny his feelings for her, Shaddiq is definitely a capable man of both mind and heart. He wasn't blinded by his vengeance with Spacians and make the opportunity to forge a necessary alliance with them, which was part of the reason he was aiming for Miorine. He clearly understood that Miorine was someone with a good heart behind her tough and confident appearance, a genius that was no less than him in every way. And this was the part he didn't understand about Miorine and probably didn't find it necessary to understand, that despite possessing qualities that he appreciated, Miorine hated being associated with the title "princess" the most. The way he "let" Guel claim the Holder position for as long as possible is because he merely sees Guel as some decent knight to protect his princess.
I thought that after the duel between Earth house vs Grassley, Shaddiq had understood a thing or two about why Miorine chose Suletta, who in his eyes was so incompetent and useless but it seems like I was wrong. His view about Miorine stands still as a pure princess who can not get out of her glass house.

2023.06.03 17:55 KaciesKreatures Havenât posted in quite awhile on here. Recently Iâve gotten out of breeding Ball Pythons, now focusing on Colubrids. Marked a species off of my wishlist a few weeks ago and here they are below! Pair of Chinese King Ratsnakes đ„°! Karma, female, is pictured first and Chaos, male, is pictured second.
2023.06.03 17:44 irunwithoutscissors 37 [TF4F] West Coast/US - "But most of all...I'm sick and tired of havin' nobody." - Lloyd Christmas, limo driver
Oh, you made it! Fantastic! Please, have a seat. Would you like some coffee? I actually don't drink it myself, I just keep it for guests. Cream? I don't think I have any sugar, I'm sorry...
Okay, where to begin? A little about me, huh? Well, I'm 37... I just turned 37, and I really don't like being 37. I just... I really don't like it. I was born male, have always identified as female, have been out (to close friends, soon to be publicly) for almost a decade, and am just now beginning my transition. I like to be open and honest about it (when it's safe to do so), and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have (and I'm not easily offended or anything, so don't be shy!). I recently went back to work for a company I swore I was never going to work for again, and I'm already sore as all get out (also, my boss just happens to be dating my childhood crush, and there are photos all over the internet, so that's fun). That being said, it's only for the summer, so I'm not stressing about it too much. Come fall, I'll be going back to school, getting my CDL, and hitting the road full time (at which point I will be untethered location-wise, so distance may not necessarily be an issue if we happen to hit it off). Let's see, what else? I love animals, like, so much. I'm not 100% certain I was a cat in a past life, but I've honestly never seen any evidence to the contrary. I watch a lot of movies. In fact, I watch a lot of the same movies, over and over. And yes, over. I also plan to start making films of my own (for local festivals) once I've settled down somewhere and saved some money, that's been a lifelong dream of mine. Similarly, I plan to start about five different bands, music has always been a huge part of my life as well. I love to write (well, I love to have written), and while I'm not the biggest reader you'll ever meet, I have a decent-sized list of favorites (mostly with pictures, but...). Basically, anything creative that lets me use my imagination or put my own touch on something will probably catch my interest. And then like video games, pool, poker, I love road trips (go figure), camping (okay, glamping, unless I'm with somebody who knows what they're doing), sports here and there (I'd rather play than watch, but I do enjoy going to baseball games). Oh! And I probably do the best Christian Slater impersonation you've ever heard.
What am I looking for, you ask? To be completely transparent (which is a fun word to use considering who and where I am), I'm ready to settle down with the person I'm supposed to be with, simple as that. I want to form a genuine bond with somebody special, who truly understands me, and vice versa. It's a lot to ask on a Saturday morning, I suppose, but it's happened before, and it will happen again, right? (Right?) And as far as who I'm looking for, I'm honestly pretty open, but I will say, as far as I'm concerned, the most attractive quality a person can possess is a kind heart, I'm a total sucker for empathy. If you care about people, animals, and the planet, we're probably going to get along, and from there, the rest is just chemistry!
Well, that's about the gist of it, so I guess the ball is in your court now... If you think we might hit it off, drop by and say hi! :)

It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of gum.
The story is simple- hostile aliens are invading earth, and the world is powerless to stop them. Humanity must put its faith in one man, a macho dude with heavy weaponry, foul-mouthed quips, and brass balls to save the day by blasting the shit out of every one of those ugly aliens. That man- that legend- is Duke Nukem. Hail to the king!
In the Duke Nukem Forever tie-in comic, multiple people swap stories about Duke Nukem. While these are heavily implied to be real in-story, these will be marked as [Story]

2023.06.03 17:09 K-a-i-s Homosexuality
Homosexuals are pedophiles. There is no deleting these posts disannulling this well known historical and laboratory fact.
https://archive.is/r9tl5 This paper wouldn't have made it past peer-review did it not pledge a superficial, (and inconsistent!) concession. Namely the last sentence of its abstract boldly claims that "This, of course, would not indicate that androphilic [homosexual] males have a greater propensity to offend against children" unfazed by the one just preceding it: "This suggests that the resulting proportion of true pedophiles among persons with a homosexual erotic development is greater than that in persons who develop heterosexually", perhaps exploiting the circumstance that generally, attention is instinctually drawn to head and tail (beg. and end):
https://www.dictionary.com/e/typoglycemia/ Same-sex intercourse, regardless the age of the participants defines both as homosexual. Are there female offenders against male children?
https://archive.is/BUXRs Since pedophilia either does not exist at all in women, or is extremely rare, only men were included in the study.
Without loss of generality, we can assume only male offenders against children.
Previous investigations have indicated that the ratio of sex offenders against female children vs. offenders against male children is approximately 2:1
Hence, there are at least half as many homosexual pedophiles (bisexuals aren't straight) as there are straight pedophiles: HP/SP = 1/2.
the ratio of gynephiles to androphiles among the general population is approximately 20:1
That is the ratio of straights to homosexuals is S/H = 20:1
Let us now compare the percentage of homosexual pedophiles HP/H to that of straight pedophiles SP/S:
(HP/H)/(SP/S) = HP/H * S/SP = HP/SP * S/H = 1/2 * 20 = 10
Conclusion: the ratio of homosexual pedophiles to homosexuals is upwards of 10 time that of straight pedophiles to straights.
If 10% of straights have a pedophilic inclination (the Muslim world starting with their prophet who desecrated Aisha when she was 9, Afghanistan-bred Bacha-Bazi, Japan etc.) then owing to the calculated ratio, 100% of homosexuals are pedophiles.
Such is elementary math, hard straight numbers (and fractions.)

2023.06.03 16:47 FightingUrukHai The Development of Aluwa
Prehistoric Aluwa is often thought of as a primitive society, but although the progress was slow, over the centuries they continued to advance their knowledge in every facet of their life.
Arguably the most significant advancement of this time was the gradual development of tanning leather. First, a deerskin would be cleaned by soaking it in water and scraping it with flint or clamshell tools. Then, it would be soaked again, this time in the same lime solution used in nixtamalization, in order to remove the fat and grease. Finally, the hide would be worked with deer brains, preferably the brains of the deer from which the skin had come â this was thought to improve the durability of the leather, since it was all from one animal â and stretched over an oak fire. The combination of enzymes from the brains and tannin from the woodsmoke would soften the hide and convert it into buckskin leather. The lime soaking and oak smoking also had ritual significance, being linked to similar processes in food preparation; it is thought that these elements were used in deerskin preparation for at least a century before the brains were added to the mix.
The development of tanning caused significant changes to Aluwa society. Now that buckskin clothing could be expected last for many years, it became much more common for people to wear pants and shirts during the spring and autumn, instead of only during the coldest days of winter. They also began decorating their clothing with chalk and ochre, both as a fashion choice and as a signifier of tribe loyalty. These didnât replace earlier traditions of wearing short skirts and loincloths or decorating themselves in body paint (face painting in particular continued to be a major feature in Aluwa fashion, since it would be visible even when dressed in full buckskin), but it did begin a parallel development that would gradually overtake them in importance. Leather also replaced earlier materials for many other purposes, from wigwam coverings to waterskins to sandals.
Even as leather became more prevalent in Aluwa society, hunters themselves were becoming more marginalized. In Aluwa spirituality, birds and mammals were considered a higher tier of being than reptiles, amphibians, fish, or invertebrates. Hunters, who killed deer and gamebirds as a way of life, were viewed with suspicion. The development of tanning only increased this suspicion â the noxious smells the process produced meant that it had to be done at the border of the village, so the hunters, who also did the leatherworking, ended up living at the edge of society.
But it was not only hunters who were making technological innovations at this time. The herb-gathering wise men who had learned to identify medicinal plants improved their knowledge of healing. They invented splints made of wood and palm fiber rope, which could be used in an early form of bone-setting. The results can be seen in the healed bones of skeletons from people who lived at the time, many of which have growth patterns showing that they lived for decades after the injuries that would have been otherwise deadly.
Other gatherers, less wise in the ways of herblore, developed a new type of axe with a long wooden handle and a head made of flint or bronze. This was much more effective than earlier tree-felling tools, and the aniâAluwa used it to clear away farmland at a significantly faster rate, the fallen trees becoming fuel for their cookfires or material for their houses and boats. With the new ease of acquiring wood, these houses and boats slowly started increasing in size, with larger constructions becoming a status symbol for powerful tribal matriarchs and wealthy seafaring merchants.
Aluwa fisherman were also innovating. Previously, the gathering of clams and oysters had been entirely passive, but now the aniâAluwa began to shape their environment to fit their needs. They built long, low stone walls parallel to the coast, which trapped sediment that would otherwise wash out to sea and extended the width of the tidal zone. They would also clear out rocks and churn up the sand to provide an ideal environment for bivalves, and harvest said bivalves in a sustainable way. Using these new clam beds, they were able to greatly increase the clam and oyster harvest, providing more meat and more mother-of-pearl, which became quite popular for use in jewelry and decorations.
New technologies also changed the way of life for women back in the village. Previously, maize (nixtamalized into hominy) and cassava had been treated much like beans, squash, peppers, or sweet potatoes, being cooked and smoked but otherwise left in their natural state. During this period, however, Aluwa women first began to grind maize and cassava into flour using handheld grindstones. This led to the innovation of new foods: hominy flour (masa) would be baked into a flatbread called Yatilu, while cassava flour would be formed into dumplings called Plopayam, which were most frequently used in Globiplo, cassava dumpling soup. A uniquely Aluwa dish was Haâuwam, a ball of dough like a swallow made by pouring either masa, cassava flour, or a combination of both into boiling water and stirring it until it had enough consistency to stick together. These dishes would prove to be the staple foods around which Aluwa cuisine would grow.
At the intersection of different Aluwa lifestyles and gender roles was the domestication of citrus. Aluwa lies at the intersection of the native ranges of various wild citrus fruits â wild oranges (Citrus indica) to the west, wild citrons (Citrus medica) to the northwest, wild mandarins (Citrus reticulata) to the northeast, and wild limes (Citrus hystrix) to the southeast. Male gatherers had begun the practice of grafting fruit- and nut-bearing trees centuries earlier, which reached new heights as they combined the different citruses, breeding them into a new form with bigger fruits that had smaller rinds. The result was the Hihuwi, or Aluwa yellow lime, a somewhat bitter fruit that became a mainstay in Aluwa cooking, especially when combined with chili peppers.
The changes this brought to Aluwa society were less to do with the fruit itself than with its cultivation. Wild plants of the forest were the domain of men; cultivated plants of the farm were the domain of women. Lime trees were trees, descended from wild cultivars, but required constant careful tending and were short and shrubby enough to grow alongside other domesticated plants. In the end, the question of who should be in charge of tending the limes came down to practicality: the most efficient place to plant the lime trees was among the farms around the village, and the women were already working those farms. This represented the first step of women, who were for the most part expected to spend their whole lives in and around their home village, expanding into the broader territory of a domain that had once been exclusive to men â even if, in this case, the trees came to the women rather than the women to the trees. Still, it was at around this time that myths and legends began to include rare examples of female heroes venturing forth to wander the world like their male counterparts had long been doing.

2023.06.03 16:26 Jarred425 Add in more voice lines and unused voice lines
I think that the game could use updates to its soundtrack a bit such as more faction songs and there is a surprising amount of unused sounds and voices in the game files so they could easily be implemented, some additional voice lines and possibly redoing the tutorial to be voiced by the faction narrators
Among unused voice lines are some additional taunts toward the other factions, clips of some that are on YouTube
TR taunts
Greenhorn male Greenhorn female Stalwart taunts VS taunts
Calculating voice Stalwart VS NC taunts
Stalwart NC taunts "purple, really?"
NC Calculating Another interesting bunch of voice lines are those naming major facilities, video of some, they could be among the voice lines for when major facilities are taken

2023.06.03 15:38 obeliskposture Short story about bad times & bad jobs
I've shared fiction here before and it didn't go altogether too poorly, so I'm going to press my luck and do it again. This was written about a year ago, and I'm tired of trying to peddle it to lit magazines. Might as well share it here, know that it met a few eyeballs, and have done with it.
It's relevant to the sub insofar as it's about urban alienation and the working conditions at a small business run by IN THIS HOUSE WE BELIEVE people. (I tried to pitch it as a story of the great resignation with a momentary flicker of cosmic horror.) It's based on a similar job I took on after getting laid off during the lockdown, and the circumstances of the main character's breakup are faintly similar to one I went through several years back (her job sucked the life out of her).
Without further ado:
* * *
It was getting close to midnight, and the temperature outside was still above 80 degrees. Weâd locked up the shop at 10:15 and walked over to Twenty, the dive bar on Poplar Street, where a single wall-mounted air conditioner and four wobbly ceiling fans werenât putting up much resistance against the July heat baking the place from the outside and the dense mass of bodies giving it a stifling fever from within.
Just now I came close to saying it was a Wednesday night, because that was usually when the cyclists descended upon Avenue Brew, the gritty-but-bougie craft beer and sandwich shop I was working at back then. Every Wednesday between March and November, about fifteen to twenty-five Gen Xers dressed in skintight polyester, all packages and camel toes and fanny packs, locked up their thousand-dollar bikes on the sidewalk and lined up for IPAs and paninis. They reliably arrived around 8:00, an hour before we closed, making it impossible to get started on the closing checklist and leave on time at 10:00. The worst of them were demanding and rude, and even the best got raucous and stubborn after a couple drinks. There were nights when bringing in the sidewalk tables couldnât be done without arguing with them. Most were sub-par tippers, to boot.
After Wednesday came and went that week without so much as a single 40-something in Ray Bans and padded shorts stopping in to double-fist two cans of Jai Alai, we dared to hope the cyclists had chosen another spot to be their finish line from there on out. But noâtheyâd only postponed their weekly ride, and swarmed us on Friday night instead.
I was the last person to find out; I was clocked in as purchaser that evening. The position was something like a promotion I'd received a year earlier: for twenty hours a week, I got to retreat from the public and sit in the back room with the store laptop, reviewing sales and inventory, answering emails from brewery reps, and ordering beer, beverages, and assorted paper goods. When I put in hours as purchaser, my wage went up from $11 to $15 an hour, but I was removed from the tip pool. On most days, tips amounted to an extra two or three dollars an hour, so I usually came out ahead.
This was back in 2021. I don't know what Avenue Brew pays these days.
Anyway, at about 8:15, I stepped out to say goodbye to everyone and found the shop in chaos. Friday nights were generally pretty active, the cyclists' arrival had turned the place into a mob scene. The line extended to the front door. The phone was ringing. The Grubhub tablet dinged like an alarm clock without a snooze button. Danny was on the sandwich line and on the verge of losing his temper. Oliver was working up a sweat running food, bussing tables, and replenishing ingredients from the walk-in. The unflappable Marina was on register, and even she seemed like she was about to snap at somebody.
What else could I do? I stayed until closing to answer the phone, process Grubhub orders, hop on and off the second register, and help Danny with sandwich prep. After the tills were counted out, I stayed another hour to take care of the dishes, since nobody had a chance to do a first load. Oliver was grateful, even though he grumbled about having to make some calls and rearrange Sunday's schedule so I could come in a couple hours late. Irene and Jeremy, Avenue Brew's owners, would kick his ass if he let me go into overtime.
Danny suggested that we deserved a few drinks ourselves after managing to get through the shift without killing anyone. Not even Marina could find a reason to disagree with him.
The neighborhood had undergone enough gentrification to support an upscale brunch spot, an ice cream parlor, a gourmet burger restaurant, a coffee and bahn mi shop, and Avenue Brew (to name a few examples), but not yet quite enough that the people who staffed them couldnât afford to live within a ten-minute walk from the main avenue where all these hep eateries stood between 24-hour corner stores with slot machines in back, late-night Chinese and Mexico-Italian takeout joints with bulletproof glass at the counters, and long-shuttered delis and shoe stores. Twenty on Poplar was the watering hole set aside for people like us. It was dim, a bit dilapidated, and inexpensive, and usually avoided by denizens of the condos popping up on the vacant lots and replacing clusters of abandoned row houses.
When we arrived, Kyle waved us over. He didnât work at Avenue Brew anymore, but still kept up with a few of us. He was at Twenty at least four nights out of the week.
So there we all were. I sat with a brooding stranger freestyling to himself in a low mumble on the stool to my left and Oliver on my right, who tapped at his phone and nursed a bottle of Twisted Tea. To Oliverâs right sat Marina, staring at nothing in particular and trying to ignore Danny, who stood behind her, closer than she would have liked, listening to Kyle explain the crucial differences between the Invincible comic book and the Invincible web series.
I recall being startled back to something like wakefulness when it seemed to me that the ceiling had sprouted a new fan. I blinked my eyes, and it wasnât there anymore. It reminded me of an incident from when I was still living with my folks in South Jersey and still had a car, and was driving home from a friendâs house party up in Bergen County. It was 6:30 AM, I hadnât slept all night, and needed to get home so I could get at least little shuteye before heading to Whole Foods for my 11:00 AM shift. I imagined I passed beneath the shadows of overpasses I knew werenât there, and realized I was dreaming at the wheel.
I was pretty thoroughly zombified at that point. Heather and I had broken up for good the night before, and I hadn't gotten even a minute of sleep. Calling out at Avenue Brew was tough. Unless you found someone willing to cover your shift on like six hours' notice, you were liable to get a writeup, a demotion, or your hours cut if you couldn't produce a doctor's note. So I loaded up on caffeine pills and Five-Hour Energy bottles at the corner store, and powered through as best I could.
I finished the last thimbleful of Blue Moon in my glass. Oliver wiped the sweat from the back of his neck with a napkin and covered his mouth to stifle a laugh at the KiwiFarms thread he was scrolling through. Pool balls clacked; somebody swore and somebody laughed. The TouchTunes box was playing Bob Dylanâs âRain Day Woman #12 & 35,â and enough bleary 40-something men around the bar were bobbing their heads and mouthing the words to make it impossible to determine which one of them paid two bucks to hear it. A guy by the cigarette machine who looked like a caricature of Art Carney in flannel and an old Pixies T-shirt was accosting a woman who must have been a toddler when he hit drinking age, and she momentarily made eye contact with me as she scanned the area for a way out. Danny was shouting over the bartenderâs head, carrying on a conversation with the Hot Guy from Pizza Stanâs, who was sitting on the horseshoeâs opposite arm.
I never got his name, but when Oliver first referred to him as the Hot Guy from Pizza Stanâs, I knew exactly who he meant. Philly scene kid par excellence. Mid-20s, washed-out black denim, dyed black hair, thick bangs, and dark, gentle eyes. He was only truly alluring when he was on the job, because he seldom smiled thenâand when he smiled, he broke the spell by exposing his teeth, stained a gnarly shade of mahogany from too much smoking and not enough brushing.
âHowâs Best? Marcus still a joker?â Danny asked him.
âYeah, you know Marcus. You know how he is.â
So the Hot Guy had been working at Best Burger (directly across the street from Avenue Brew) ever since Pizza Stanâs owners mismanaged the place unto insolvency. (Afterwards it was renovated and reopened as a vegan bakeryâwhich incidentally closed down about a month ago.) Danny used to work at Best Burger, but that ended after he got into a shouting match with the owner. I happened to overhear it while I was dragging in the tables and collecting the chairs from the sidewalk the night it happened. It wasnât any of my business, and I tried not to pay attention, but they were really tearing into each other. A month later, Oliver welcomed Danny aboard at Avenue Brew. I hadnât known heâd been interviewed, and by then it was too late to mention the incident. But Iâd have been a hypocrite to call it a red flag after the way I resigned from my position as CafĂ© Chakra's assistant manager two years earlierânot that we need to go dredging that up right now. Let's say there was some bad blood and leave it at that.
Anyway, I was thinking about giving in and buying a pack of cigarettes from the machineâand then remembered that Twenty didnât have a cigarette machine. I looked again. The Art Carney-lookalike was still there, fingering his phone with a frown, but the girl was goneâand so was the cigarette machine.
I had only a moment to puzzle over this before Danny clapped me on the shoulder and thrust a shot glass in front of me.
âStarfish!â he said. (Danny called me Starfish. Everybody else called me Pat.) âYou look like you need some juice.â
He distributed shots to everyone else. Marina declined hers, but changed her mind when Kyle offered to take it instead.
She and Kyle had stopped sleeping together after Kyle left Avenue Brew to work at the Victory taproom on the Parkway, but Marina was still concerned about his bad habits, which Danny delighted in encouraging.
We all leaned in to clink our glasses. Before I could find an appropriate moment to ask Marina if I could bum a cigarette, she got up to visit the bathroom. Danny took her seat and bowed his head for a conspiratorial word with Kyle.
I watched from the corner of my eye and tried to listen in. Like Marina, I was a little worried about Kyle. He got hired at Avenue Brew around the same time I did, just before the pandemic temporarily turned us into a takeout joint. He was a senior at Drexel then, an English major, and sometimes talked about wanting to either find work in publishing or carve out a career as a freelance writer after graduating. But first he intended to spend a year getting some life in before submitting himself to the forever grind.
He read a lot of Charles Bukowski and Hunter Thompson. He relished the gritty and sordid, and had already been good at sniffing it out around the neighborhood and in West Philly before Danny introduced him to cocaine, casinos, strip clubs, and a rogueâs gallery of shady but fascinating people. (None were really Dannyâs friends; just fellow passengers who intersected with the part of his life where he sometimes went to Parx, sometimes came out ahead, sometimes spent his winnings on coke, and sometimes did bumps at titty bars.) Kyle recounted these adventures with a boyish enthusiasm for the naked reality of sleaze, like a middle schooler telling his locker room buddies about catching his older brother in flagrante and seeing so-and-so body parts doing such-and-such things.
Marina hated it. She never said as much to me, but she was afraid that the template Kyle set for his life during his âyear offâ was in danger of becoming locked in. The anniversary of his graduation had already passed, and now here he was trying to convince Danny to contribute a couple hundred dollars toward a sheet of acid his guy had for sale. He wasn't doing much writing lately.
I was the oldest employee at Avenue Brew (as I write this Iâm 37, but fortunately I donât look it), and when Kyle still worked with us I felt like it was my prerogative to give him some advice. The longer he waited to make inroads, I once told him, the more likely heâd be seen as damaged goods by the publishing world. He needed to jam his foot in the door while he was still young.
I could tell the conversation bored him, and didnât bring up the subject again.
The bartender took my glass and curtly asked if Iâd like another drink.
âNo thanks, not yet,â I answered.
She slid me my bill.
I missed the old bartender, the one sheâd replaced. I forget her name, but she was ingenuous and energetic and sweet. Pretty much everyone had some sort of crush on her. Sometimes she came into Avenue Brew for lunch, and tipped us as well as we tipped her. Maybe three months before that nightâDanny witnessed itâshe suddenly started crying and rushed out the door. Everyone at the bar mutely looked to each other for an explanation. (Fortunately for Twenty, the kitchen manager hadnât left yet, and picked up the rest of her shift.)
She never came back. None of us had seen her since. But drafts still had to be poured and bottlecaps pulled off, and now here was another white woman in her mid-twenties wearing a black tank top, a pushup bra, and a scrunchie, same as before. Twentyâs regulars grew accustomed to not expecting to see the person sheâd replaced, and life went on.
âHowâre you doing?â I asked Oliver, just to say something to somebody, and to keep my thoughts from wandering back to Heather.
âJust kind of existing right now,â he answered. His phone lay face-up on the counter. He was swiping through Instagram, and I recognized the avatar of the user whose album he hate-browsed.
âAnd howâs Austin been?â I asked.
âOh, you know. Not even three weeks after getting over the jetlag from his trip back from the Cascades, heâs off touring Ireland.â He shook his head. âLiving his best life.â
Heâd hired Austin on a part-time basis in September. We needed a new associate when Emma was promoted to replace a supervisor who'd quit without even giving his two weeks. There was a whole thing. I'm having a hard time recalling the guy's name, but I liked him well enough. He was a good worker and he seemed like a bright kid, but he wasâwell, he was young. NaĂŻve. One day he found Jeremy sitting in the back room with his laptop, and took advantage of the open-door policy to ask why the store manager and supervisors didnât get health benefits or paid time off. Jeremy told him it "was being worked on," and that he couldnât discuss it any further at that time. I understand the kid got argumentative, though I never knew precisely what was said.
Irene started visiting the shop a lot more often after that, almost always arriving when the kid was working. No matter what he was doing, sheâd find a reason to intervene, to micromanage and harangue him, and effectively make his job impossible. A coincidence, surely.
Itâs something I still think about. By any metric, Jeremy and Irene have done very well for themselves. Theyâre both a little over 40 years old. I remember hearing they met at law school. In addition to Avenue Brew, they own a bistro in Francisville and an ice cream parlor in Point Breeze. They have a house on the Blue Line, send their son to a Montessori school, and pull up to their businesses in a white Volkswagen ID.4. But whenever the subject of benefits, wages, or even free shift meals came up, they pled poverty. It simply couldnât be done. But they liked to remind us about all they did to make Avenue Brew a fun place to work, like let the staff pick the music and allow Oliver and me to conduct a beer tasting once a day. They stuck Black Lives Matter, Believe Women, and Progress flag decals on the front door and windows, and I remember Irene wearing a Black Trans Lives Matter shirt once or twice when covering a supervisor's shift. None of the college students or recent graduates who composed most of Avenue Brew's staff could say the bosses weren't on the right team. And yet...
I'm sorryâI was talking about Austin. He was maybe 30 and already had another job, a ârealâ job, some sort of remote gig lucrative enough for him to make rent on a studio in the picturesque Episcopal church down the street that had been converted into upscale apartments some years back. Austin wasnât looking for extra cash. He wanted to socialize. To have something to do and people to talk to in the outside world. He wanted to make friends, and all of us could appreciate thatâbut itâs hard to be fond of a coworker who irredeemably sucks at his job. Austin never acted with any urgency, was inattentive to detail, and even after repeated interventions from Oliver and the supervisors, he continued to perform basic tasks in bafflingly inefficient ways. Having Austin on your shift meant carrying his slack, and everyone was fed up after a few months. Oliver sat him down, told him he was on thin ice, and gave him a list of the areas in which he needed to improve if he didnât want to be let go.
When Austin gave Oliver the indignant âI donât need this jobâ speech, it was different from those times Danny or I told a boss to go to hell and walked out. Austin truly didnât need it. He basically said the job was beneath him, and so was Oliver.
It got deep under Oliverâs skin. He did need the job and had to take it seriously, even when it meant being the dipshit manager chewing out a man four or five years his senior. He earned $18 an hour (plus tips when he wasnât doing admin work), had debts to pay off, and couldn't expect to get any help from his family.
The important thing, though, the part I distinctly remember, was that Oliver was looking at a video of a wading bird Austin had recorded. An egret, maybe. White feathers, long black legs, pointy black beak. Austin must have been standing on a ledge above a creek, because he had an overhead view of the bird as it stood in the water, slowly and deliberately stretching and retracting its neck, eyeing the wriggling little shadows below. As far as the fish could know, they were swimming around a pair of reeds growing out of the silt. The predator from which they extended was of a world beyond their understanding and out of their reach.
The video ended. Oliver moved on to the next item: a photograph of the bird from the same perspective, with a fish clamped in its beak. Water droplets flung from the victim's thrashing tail caught the sunlight. And I remember now, I clearly remember, the shapes of like twelve other fish stupidly milling about the bird's feet, unperturbed and unpanicked.
Danny peered at Oliverâs phone and observed a resemblance between the birdâits shape and bearing, and the composition of the photographâand a POV porn video shot from behind and above, and he told us so. Elaborately. He made squawking noises.
âAnd mom says Iâm a degenerate,â Oliver sighed. âCan you practice your interspecies pickup artist shit somewhere else?â Oliver flicked his wrist, shooing Danny off, and held his phone in front of his face to signal that he was done talking.
Danny sagged a little on his stool and turned away. I sometimes felt bad for him. For all his faults, he had the heart of a puppy dog. He really did think of us as his tribe. There was nobody else whoâd only ever answer âyesâ when you asked him to pick up a shift, and he did it completely out of loyalty.
He was turning 29 in a week. I wondered how many people would actually turn out to celebrate with him at the Black Taxi. Kyle probably wouldâbut even he regarded Danny more as a source of vulgar entertainment than a friend.
Then it happened again. When I turned to speak to Oliver, thereâd been a pair of pool cues leaning side-by-side against the wall a few stools down. Now they were gone.
This time it might have been my imagination. Somebody passing by could have casually snatched them up and kept walking.
But a moment later I seemed to notice a second TouchTunes box protruding from the wall directly behind me. I let it be.
Marina returned from the bathroom. Danny rose and offered her back her seat with an exaggerated bow. Before she got settled, I asked if sheâd like to step outside with me. She withdrew her pack of Marlboro Menthols from her canvas bag, which she left sitting on the stool to deter Danny from sitting back down.
Marina never minded letting me bum cigarettes from time to time. I couldnât buy them for myself anymore; itâs a habit I could never keep under control, and was only getting more expensive. Like everything else in the world. About once a month I reimbursed her by buying her a pack.
The air out on the sidewalk was as hot as the air inside Twenty, but easier to breathe. After lighting up, Marina leaned against the bricks and sighed.
âI wish Oliver would fire Danny already and get it over with.â
I nodded. Marina rarely talked about anything but work.
âHe sneaks drinks and doesn't think anyone notices he's buzzed,â she went on. âHe steals so much shit and isnât even a little subtle about it. Heâs going to get Oliver in trouble. And heâs a creep.â
âYeah,â I said. These were her usual complaints about Danny, and they were all true. âAt least heâs better than Austin.â
âThatâs a low bar.â
Three dirt bikes and an ATV roared down the lonely street, charging through stop sign after stop sign, putting our talk on hold.
âRemind me. Youâve got one semester left, right?â I asked after the noise ebbed.
âYep.â
Marina was a marketing major at Temple. Sheâd had an internship during the spring semester, and her boss told her to give her a call the very minute she graduated. Her parents in central Pennsylvania couldnât pay her rent or tuition for her, so she was a full-time student and a full-time employee at Avenue Brew. Her emotional spectrum ranged from "tired" to "over it." Sheâd been waiting tables and working at coffee shops since she was seventeen, had no intention of continuing for even a day longer than she had to, and feared the escape hatch would slam shut if she dallied too long after prying it open.
Sheâd considered majoring in English, like Kyle. She went for marketing instead. I couldnât blame her.
âAre you okay?â she asked. âYouâve been kind of off all day.â
âIâm terrible.â
âWhy?â
I gave dodgy answers, but she asked precisely the right follow-up questions to get me going about what happened with Heather the night before.
It was the new job. Before the pandemic, Heather worked as a server at a Center City bar and grill. (That's where I met her; we were coworkers for about a year, and then I left to work Café Chakra because it was quieter and closer to where I lived.) When the place closed its doors and laid everyone off during the lockdown, she got a stopgap job at the Acme on Passyunk, and hated it. Then in March, she found a bar-and-lounge gig in a ritzy hotel on Broad Street. Very corporate. Excellent pay, great benefits. Definitely a step up. But her new employers made Irene and Jeremy look like Bob and Linda Belcher by comparison. It was the kind of place where someone had recently gotten herself fired for leaving work to rush to the hospital after getting the news that her grandmother was about to be taken off life support, and not finding someone to come in and cover the last two hours of her shift.
Heather seldom worked fewer than fifty-five hours a week, and her schedule was even more erratic than mine. At least once a week she left the hotel at 1:00 or 2:00 AM and returned at 9:00 the next morning. Neither of us could remember the last time sheâd had two consecutive days off, and it had been over a month since one of mine overlapped with one of hers. Sheâd spent it drinking alone at home. All she wanted was some privacy.
Iâd biked to South Philly to meet her when she got home at 1:30. The argument that killed our relationship for good began around 2:30, when I complained that we never had sex anymore. Heather accused me of only caring about that, when she was so exhausted and stressed that her hair was falling out in the shower. Quit the job? She couldnât quit. The money was too good. She had student loans, medical bills, and credit card debt, and for the first time in her life she could imagine paying it all off before hitting menopause.
So, yeah, I was cranky about our sex life being dead in the water. Say whatever you like. But at that point, what were we to each other? We did nothing together anymore but complain about work before one or both of us fell asleep. That isnât a relationship.
She said my hair always smelled like sandwiches, even after bathing, and she was done pretending it didnât turn her off. I told her she was one to talkâshe always reeked of liquor. As things escalated, we stopped caring if her roommates heard us. âYou want to be a father?â she shouted around 4:00 AM. âMaking what you make? That poor fucking kid.â
We fought until sunrise, and I left her apartment with the understanding that I wouldnât be coming back, wouldnât be calling her ever again. I biked home and sat on the steps facing the cement panel that was my houseâs backyard. After my phone died and I couldnât anaesthetize myself with dumb YouTube videos or make myself feel crazy staring at the download button for the Tinder app, I watched the sparrows hopping on and off the utility lines for a while.
At 11:40 I went inside. One of my roommates was already in the shower, so the best I could do was put on a clean Avenue Brew T-shirt before walking to the shop and clocking in at noon to help deal with the lunch rush.
âThatâs a lot,â Marina finally said. âSorry.â
I donât know what I was expecting her to say. She was sixteen years my junior, after all, and just a coworker. She didnât need to hear any of this, and I definitely didn't need to be telling her. But who else was there to tell?
Sheâd already finished her cigarette. I still had a few puffs left. She went inside.
I decided to call it a night.
The second TouchTunes box was goneânaturally. Danny had taken my stool, and regarded my approach with a puckish you snooze you lose grin. I wasnât going to say anything. Iâd just pay my bill, give everyone a nod goodnight, and walk the five blocks back home.
And then Danny disappeared.
One second, he was there. The nextâgone.
Danny didnât just instantaneously vanish. Even when something happens in the blink of an eye, you can still put together something of a sequence. I saw himâI seemed to see himâfalling into himself, collapsing to a point, and then to nothing.
You know how sometimes a sound is altogether inaudible unless youâre looking at the sourceâlike when you donât realize somebodyâs whispering at you, and can then hear and understand them after they get your attention? I think that was the case here. I wouldn't have known to listen if I hadn't seen it happen. What I heard lingered for two, maybe three seconds, and wasn't any louder than a fly buzzing inside a lampshade. A tiny and impossibly distant scream, pitchshifted like a receding ambulance siren into a basso drone...
I donât know. I donât know for sure. Iâm certain I remember a flash of red, and I have the idea of Dannyâs trunk expanding, opening up as it imploded. A crimson flower, flecked white, with spooling pink stalksâand Dannyâs wide-eyed face above it, drawn twisting and shrinking into its petals.
For an instant, Twentyâs interior shimmered. Not shimmered, exactlyâglitched would be a better word. If youâre old enough to remember the fragmented graphics that sometimes flashed onscreen when you turned on the Nintendo without blowing on the cartridge, youâll have an idea of what I mean. It happened much too fast, and there was too much of it to absorb. The one clear impression I could parse was the mirage of a cash register flickering upside-down above the pool table.
Not a cash register. The shape was familiar, but the texture was wrong. I think it was ribbed, sort of like a maggot. I think it glistened. Likeâcamo doesnât work anymore when the wearer stops crouching behind a bush and breaks into a run. Do you get what Iâm saying?
Nobody else seemed to notice. The pool balls clacked. A New Order track was playing on the TouchTunes box. A nearby argument about about Nick Sirianni continued unabated.
Finally, there was a downward rush of airâand this at least elicited a reaction from the bartender, who slapped my bill to keep it from sailing off the counter.
âDanny,â I said.
âDanny?â Kyle asked me quietly. His face had gone pale.
âDanny?â Oliver repeated in a faraway voice.
After a pause, Kyle blinked a few times. âYou heard from him?â
âGod forbid,â said Marina. âWhen he quit I was like, great, I can keep working here after all.â
âOh, come onââ
âKyle. Did I ever show you those texts he sent me once at three in the morning?â The color had returned to Oliverâs face.
âNo, what did he say?â
Oliver tapped at his phone and turned the screen toward Kyle.
âOh. Oh, jeez.â
âRight? Likeâif you want to ask me something, ask me. You know? Donât be weirdly accusatory about itâŠâ
I pulled a wad of fives and ones from my pocket, threw it all onto the counter, and beelined for the exit without consideration for the people I squeezed through and shoved past on the way.
I heard Marina saying âlet him go.â
I went a second consecutive night without sleep. Fortunately I wasnât scheduled to come in the next day.
The schedule. Itâs funny. Oliver was generally great at his job, and even when he wasnât, I cut him a lot of slack because I knew Irene and Jeremy never gave him a momentâs peace. But I could never forgive him those times he waited until the weekend to make up and distribute the schedule. This was one of those weeks he didnât get around to it until Saturday afternoon. When I found it in my inbox, Dannyâs name wasnât anywhere on it.
As far as I know, nobody who hadnât been at Twenty that night asked what happened to him. We were a bit overstaffed as it was, and everyone probably assumed Danny was slated for the chopping block. The part-timers were, for the most part, happy to get a few additional hours.
Oliver abruptly quit around Labor Day after a final acrimonious clash with the owners. I never found out the details, and I never saw him again. Jeremy and Irene took turns minding the store while a replacement manager was sought. None of the supervisors would be pressured into taking the job; they knew from Oliver what they could expect.
About three weeks after Oliver left, I came in for my purchasing shift and found Jeremy waiting for me in the back room. I knew it was serious when he didnât greet me with the awkward fist-bump he ordinarily required of his male employees.
âYouâve seen the numbers,â he said. Business for the summer had fallen short of expectations, it was true, and he and Irene had decided to rein in payroll expenses. My purchaser position was being eliminated. Its responsibilities would be redistributed among the supervisors and the new manager, when one was found. In the meantime, I'd be going back to the regular $11 an hour (plus tips of course) associate position full-time.
Jeremy assured me I'd be first in the running for supervisor the next time there was an opening.
I told him it was fine, I was done, and if heâd expected the courtesy of two weeksâ notice, he shouldnât have blindsided me like that.
âWell, thatâs your choice,â he answered, trying not to look pleased. His payroll problem was solving itself.
I racked up credit card debt for a few months. Applied for entry-level museum jobs that might appreciate my art history degree. Aimed for some purchasing and administrative assistant gigs, and just for the hell of it, turned in a resume for a facilitator position at an after-school art program. Got a few interviews. All of them eventually told me theyâd decided to go in a different direction. I finally got hired to bartend at Hops from Underground, a microbrewery on Fairmount.
Iâm still there. The moneyâs okay, but it fluctuates. Hours are reasonable. Iâm on their high-deductible health plan. Thereâs a coworker Iâve been dating. Sort of dating. You know how it goes. In this line of work you get so used to people coming and going that you learn not to get too attached. I walk past Avenue Brew a few times a week, but stopped peering in through the window when I didn't recognize the people behind the counter anymore.

2023.06.03 15:37 aSinkfulOfSeaweed Which chonker do I get?
I researched short-tailed pythons and blood pythons all day yesterday and think they could be the right snake for me.
As a background, I currently have a Trans-pecos rat snake and an adult green iguana. I've had my iguana for 12 years and he kind of hates me but is in great health (is about 15+years old and was a rescue). He has his own room. My point is that, I have an animal that wants to attack me most days, so the intimidation factor is not an issue for me. I am okay with rehabbing a "feisty" baby or even adult. Honestly, I find that rewarding and have a lot of compassion for them.
My TPRS (about 9 years old) is a total sweetheart, was purchased as an ex-breeder and had never seen the outside of a tub. I did choice-based handling with him and he changed from fearful to a total goofy angel in a few months. He has a 4'x18"x18" bioactive desert enclosure that I worked on for an entire year before getting my snake. He asks to come out every couple of days and he looks around, will climb on me and we'll look around the house, go get the mail etc. I know bloods/short-tails won't really climb on you.
I think I have a decent amount of experience with reptiles. What I'm looking for in my next snake is something less fragile-feeling than my long skinny boy, and I think short-tails/bloods fit that bill.
The only preference I have is for a female. I want something not too small (for this type of snake). It has to be thicker than my arm. Not too into any specific morph but I like ones where their head is a different color (pumpkin heads and some of the others that just look that way). Not too into the really dark/black morphs though.
Does anyone want to convince me of a particular type? I guess I'd like to keep the adult in the 20-lb range but I think that fits most of them. I have heard some conflicting info about sizes, saying in particular the pumpkin head Sumatran short-tails are the smallest. I think my ideal size is like a 5' long and about 20 lbs adult, but I'm okay with a bit bigger than that.
My ideal interaction with this snake is I want to watch movies and play video games with her while she sits there and does basically nothing. Too fat to easily get lost. I will also be choice-basing her (and will see if she ever even like, wants to come out of the enclosure lol, but I will try). Would love a naturalistic setup but that could be unrealistic; input on this is welcome too.
Sorry if this post is all over the place but I feel enthusiastic about them! I hope some people here can offer some insight.

2023.06.03 14:40 Primary_One_9138 Clasic Russian Copypaste about sex with dolphin
Sex with a female dolphin is best done in shallow water, so it will be comfortable for both of you. Lay her on her side with her belly facing you. Lean on your elbows and lie on her stomach. With one hand, press her to you, and with the other, guide your penis. It will bend under you and fidget a little, but it is these movements that will make your posture the most comfortable. As soon as you take the right position, the female's vagina will make several muscle contractions, then she will begin to rhythmically push towards you. All these movements will bring so much pleasure that you will reach the climax very soon. Experienced zoophiles say that females, as a rule, always adapt to their partners. They hold back their orgasm until it comes from their sexual partner.Females require a more subtle and sensitive attitude towards themselves. While gently stroking her with one hand, stimulate her clitoris with the other. It is located on top of her genital opening, and if the female is excited, the clitoris will swell, and will resemble a small tubercle. Rub it with the pads of your fingers, but do not try to do it orally, because you risk losing your nose. A female dolphin can strike with pleasure with her tail. Gently stick your hand into her excited hole and gently stroke it there. Constantly caress her, stroke her - let her feel your love. After a while, she will overtake an orgasm. It will be accompanied by shaking, small jerks, sometimes sounds and numbness. You can indulge in sex with dolphins in some bay, on the beach - in general, in different places where they live. You can try sex with these animals in captivity, for example, in a water park. But it will be a little difficult. In any case, before you start an intimate relationship, you will have a few days. In addition, it is necessary to learn to distinguish between the sex of a dolphin. In the female, just under the navel, there is only one long hole, which ends with the anus. And males have two such holes: one for the penis, the other for the anus. They are separated by a small line of skin. There is another sign by which dolphins can be distinguished. To do this, it is enough to put the dolphin on its side and examine its head, if it has a more rounded and thickened shape, then you have a male in front of you. If the head has a thinner and more streamlined shape, then this is a female. Despite the apparent difficulties, sex with these animals is easier and safer than sex with a dog or horse.

2023.06.03 14:20 ClosetJack [A4M] Finding My Werewolf
The bright stadium lights illuminated the field below. As masses of padded bodies collided together, hoards of people cheered them on as they watched their teams fight for victory. This was college football, and I stood within the masses cheering on the players and my best friend. Number 19, ____Name____ Quarterback.
____Name____ and I had grown up together. Our mothers were friends from work and often dragged us along with them as they met up to socialize. Which was always amusing to them. Because we didnât always get along. You were always bolder and crasser. Stealing my toys, my snacks, and whatever else he wanted back then. But thatâs not to say I was perfect either. I was an attention hog back then. Crying just because I knew I could get one of our mothers to pay more attention to me. But obviously, we both grew out of that.
_____Name_____ grew into a tall handsome man. Stoic features, nice muscles, cocky attitude. But with looks like his. Who wouldnât be? While I grew into a slim, toned, and as he likes to call me. A nerd. But hey! Just because I like to read and watch Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings weekly doesnât make me a nerdâŠright?
Oh, and I should probably add that _____Name_____ grew up to be a werewolf. Yep, thatâs right. A werewolf. His first change happened when he was about 12 and started to go through puberty. I was spending the night at his house, and we were messing around. Wrestling as a matter of fact to see which of us was the strongest. I had him pinned on his back. Hands above his head when he let out a low feral growl. His eyes briefly grew a faint red, and before I knew it, he had me flipped over on my back and sitting on my chest. He gave me his famous crooked smile. His teeth were sharp, and he gripped my arms with long jagged nails that dug into my wrist. Since then, his shift has become more and more wolfish. His ears elongated, fur sprouting up to cover his arms, legs, and feet.
He always had control of his wolf. Well almost. We learned werewolves were nothing like they were in the movies. They didnât go all feral during a fool moon. They could shift whenever they wanted or needed. The problem was _____Name_____ didnât know how to control his wolf when he was upset.
Which is why I never quite understood his infatuation with sports. Because of his competitive nature, he was bound to shift during a game. And tonight, was that night.
The ball snapped and _____Name_____ stepped back. Preparing to throw it when he was sacked. The crowd âoooed and awed,â disappointedly as he fell and hit the ground. I watched as his teammates helped him up and they got back into position. The ball snapped again, and this time _____Name_____ tried running through a hole in the defensive line. But as he stepped through a linebacker came up on his right and tackled him. Shoving him down to the ground. More disappointed âawes,â came from the stands as the opponent's stands ruptured into cheers.
Our offensive line was walking off the field as the defensive line ran out. When I noticed _____Name_____ talking to the coach and walking off the field to the locker rooms. I hastily ran down the stadium stairs and headed to the locker rooms at the end of the field. I could hear bodies from the two-team collide again as they continued to play.
The door to the locker room creaked open as I pushed on it. âHey, you, okay?â I called out as I walked into the locker room. I could hear the water running and made my way towards it. As I walked toward the showers, I came across his jersey, shoulder pads, and chest pads. Which had been discarded on the floor and found _____Name_____ standing underneath the running water still in his pants. His back was towards me, and his arms stretched out to brace himself against the wall. âDude, are you alright?â I questioned again.
I could see his shoulders and back tense to my voice. But he didnât move. â______Name_____ what is going on? Are you losing control or something?â I questioned as I stepped into the showers. My shoes slapped against the wet tile floor as I approached him. âDude Tal-âI was cut off as he quickly turned around and grabbed me by the shoulders. Pinning me to the wall my feet handing above the floor. I swallowed hard as I looked into those red feral eyes. His claws dig into my shoulders.
âGoâŠ. Away.â He growled out. As he let my body slide down the wall until my feet touched the floor.
âYou need help. You canât stay here like this. What if someone sees you?â I pleaded as his grasp on my arms let up. âWe need to get you out of here!â I exclaimed.
âNo, have to win,â He uttered as he tried to turn around and leave the showers. I reached out and grabbed his wrist. Stopping him.
âIf you go out there now, youâre only exposing what you are, youâre going to scare everyone,â I said calmly. He turned back towards me sneering.
âThen they can run away like pussiesâ He growled as he turned back and headed for the door.
I ran in front of him and tried to push him back. But his muscular and solid body didnât move. I looked up at him as he stared at me. My mind was rushing to find a solution and did the only thing that made sense to distract him at the time. I reached up and cupped his face with my hands, stood on my tiptoes, and kissed him. I could feel his body tense with surprise but quickly eased as I felt him lean into the kiss.
He grabbed onto my hips and pulled his lips from mine. Before turning and pushing me into the wall. I could feel his eyes looking my body over. While he slid one hand up under my shirt to rest against my flat abdomen. His other hand unlacing the top of his football pants. I gulped. âI can smell your lust.â He uttered roughly. âIâve always been able to smell itâ.
I gulped hard. As I anticipated where this was going to go, it filled me with a mixture of anxiety, fear, and excitement. I stood there unable to move as he undid his pants. His hand slid back down my abdomen until his sharp fingers hooked the waistband of my sweatpants and underwear. He pulled them down. Exposing me before he grabbed my waist and lifted me up. Placing my legs over his shoulders and pressing my back against the wall.
âThis is what you want. Right?â He smiled deviously. I knew it wasnât really a question. But more of a confirmation that he knew my desire. He wrapped his hands around my hips and pulled me down slightly to a more appropriate position. His sneer never left his face as he took me then and there.

Good day, all, and thank you for reading my long introduction to the prompt. Iâm Jax a 27 y/o male in the EST-zone. I am looking for a long-term partner for this and future role plays. While this prompt is written in the M4M format I am more than comfortable playing as a female character opposite to the best friend/werewolf. Iâm also comfortable writing in 3rd person. I have just always felt a preference for first. As I find itâs more personal when RPing. This is intended to be a modern fantasy roleplay with an array of genres and emotions. Not just romance and lust. I have tried my best to leave your character entirely up to you including name, looks, and actions going forward. Please feel free to ask any further questions, or if youâre interested in helping me expand on this story. I look forward to meeting you!

2023.06.03 12:55 HumanAdhesiveness912 Chris Pine's character is irritating in Wonder Woman
Does anybody else share the sentiment that Chris Pine's character Steve Trevor the moment they got to the mainland came across as sort of annoying always trying to suggest what course of action should Wonder Woman should pursue everytime like during the alleyway scene the dressing montage scene the office room scene right before WW takes the field of fire during the No Man's Land scene that time when she goes to confront Ludendorff in the ballroom party scene and once again in the scene before she takes on her enemies at the airfield.
Like the writers were not sure what to do with his character and had to give something for him to do so they had him always endlessly chaperoning Wonder Woman advising what is right or wrong always trying to make the decisions for her at all times.
Granted Gal Gadot's character is meant to be a fish out of water who does not yet know the complex workings of the world so Steve is always there to help her out by giving his own ideas but that itself is flawed since at no point she develops her own viewpoint about the war her own perpective about human nature to distinguish between good and evil who is inherently right or wrong and whether that is exemplified by whose side of the equation u are standing.
I wonder if Steve Trevor was a German spy who crash landed in Themyscira in pursuit by the English would she have instinctively sided with the Germans in WWI seeing as he is the first man she has ever interacted with in her whole life.
Also the movie has an abomination of an ending with Wonder Woman instantly falling in love with the first man she has ever met after spending all her life in an all women's island whom she has barely known for even like a week which is only being setup so that she can grieve and feel sorry when he inevitably sacrifices himself at the end of the movie which brings to me another very glaring problem with the movie the ending where after the whole movie being hammered by the idea that it is in human instinct in everyone to fight and go to war suddenly we are introduced to Ares who was pulling the strings from behind like all this time and corrupting and poisoning their minds with no fault of their humans themselves speak about a downer of an ending which retroactively makes the entire movie worse since the film itself does not consistently adhere and believe in its values and ideas as it has been doling out to its viewers since the beginning.
I probably should not look into this film too deeply since it is a very paint by numbers designed by committee studio movie which would fall apart when analysed too closely as would most other superhero movies or most blockbusters in general see Pitch Meetings and the movie only got praise since it was marketed as the first female led superhero movie ever even before Marvel and it did not suck balls in comparison to other DCEU films.
But god the idea of a gender flipped Captain America: The First Avenger where the male and female leads are swapped does not translate itself as seamlessly as previously thought since the entire runtime Steve comes across more as a nuisance and hindrance who blocks Wonder Woman at every possible occasion who has to navigate her own path and listen to her own self and she has to make him step aside everytime it happens maybe the movie was trying to push the idea that Wonder Woman was breaking the gender norms and patriarchal attitudes which were prevalent in 1910s England of that time but it does get more annoying each time Chris Pine's character does it.
It actually got me thinking how would a majority of women feel when the female interest of the male superhero lead in other superhero movies are given no depth and are there to just hang around for the entire movie's runtime with no character arc or purpose except being kidnapped to add to the hero's dilemma or just be there think Blake Lively in Green Lantern but in a sense we as an audience feel that it completes the male superhero character as a person while in a gender flipped scenario from a female perpective it just feels more unnecessary than anything else.

Why does my drinking Bud Light offend you?

News item: Anthony Bass, a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, shared a video Monday via Instagram endorsing an anti-LGBTQ boycott of brands such as Target and Bud Light.
"Here's the reason biblically why I believe Christians have gotta be boycotting Target, Bud Light, and any other corporation that's pushing the things they're pushing,â Bass said. âI think a lot of people make this into a political issue, or they say, 'Oh, what's the big deal?â
âThis is evil, this is demonic, we won't stand for it, we're not going to go to the stores anymore and we're not going to give you our money.â
It would be impolite to wish that Mr. Bass, who throws a ball for a living, blows out his elbow. Perhaps then he could simply blow it out his tailpipe.
Because Iâve grown tired of sanctimonious and hypocritical moral outrage over what Target and Bud Light are âpushing,â while itâs permissible that Bass and his ilk get to âpushâ their beliefs on the rest of us.
Example: In the last two months or so, Iâve been questioned a half dozen times in public as to why Iâm drinking Bud Light. Seems people like Bass have objected to Anheuser Buschâs marketing partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Their boycott of Bud Light has led to a decrease in sales both locally and nationally. (Local bar and restaurant owners say Bud Light sales are down almost 30 percent.)
It is their right, of course, to boycott the product. Iâm just curious as to why what Iâm drinking is their business. I drink Bud Light because I like it. And Iâm still drinking Bud Light because I will not marginalize people based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Iâm respectful enough to support someone elseâs desire to evolve into another gender. And Iâm not stupid enough to believe that my decision to drink Bud Light changes who I am or what I stand for in any possible way.
But I wonder why itâs so important for people â and the questions to me havenât all come from men â to announce their disdain for a bottle of beer, tacitly implying their sexuality is ânormal.â Remember this one and write it down: If you are truly comfortable with who you are, you neednât announce anything to anyone.
And yet to further illustrate how screwed up this country really is, thereâs this: Anheuser-Busch hasnât merely been accused of alienating its traditional customer base with the partnership, but some LGBTQ+ campaigners have also criticized the company for not defending its ties with Mulvaney.
Amid all the finger-pointing and fear-fanning, the truth hides in the corner, too scared to emerge. The truth is that we are supposed to think critically, weigh evidence from both sides and then make up our own minds. Instead, weâve become a country hell bent on legislating whatever cause we think is right and just, while burying the other side from all consideration.
Itâs political tribalism. All or nothing. One side or the other. If youâre not in agreement with every morsel of the transgender movement, you are a snarling, hating, infidel. If youâre not in total agreement with Anthony Bass and his beliefs, youâre going to wither in hell.
But what if â and hold on to your ascots here â two conflicting positions can still be true? Example: What if I support Bud Lightâs decision to use a transgender influencer, but also believe that transgender high school athletes belong in their own division?
I disagree with the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conferenceâs policy complying with a state law that requires all high school students be treated according to their gender identity. We should consider a sports-centric law that acknowledges sports' unique challenges and accommodates the physical component for success that exists virtually nowhere else in society.
Sex discrimination in education, health care, housing and financial credit have no place in this country. But we must â must â realize and accept that sports require a physical component to succeed that calls for different guidelines.
Put it this way: Applying to a school or for health care, housing or financial credit requires no physical component to succeed. Sports require speed, strength and agility and do not fit under the same umbrella. And yet sports are routinely shoved into the same arguments about unfair treatment. Injustices get piled on for rhetorical usefulness, even though they're not applicable.
The male born composition has inherent physical advantages, rare exceptions noted. But in the aggregate, there are physiologic differences between biological males and females. I donât believe writing that makes me transphobic. We should respect a personâs pronoun of choice. But that doesn't mean we have to blindly agree with claims that are not supported by science.
Yet that appears to be the new end game in this country. Blind agreement. Their side or yours. And here I sit, sipping my Bud Light, trying to figure out why so many of us act like the last three letters of Anthony Bassâ last name.

This article pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about the situation. Bud Light basically sent someone a can with her image celebrating a milestone. The fact it turned the beer into enemy number one doesnât surprise me considering the vitriol that has become commonplace in our country. I have had plenty of private messages regarding a video I posted supporting a beer, and more importantly a human being. Most have been vehemently against my support of both and relish the chance to send me a screen shot of Bud Lights stock on a daily basis with a âGo woke, Go brokeâ ending. I believe much of the vitriol comes from news and talk radio which is why Spotify now fills my vehicle with music instead of talk. I ask everyone to limit their news intake to 30 minutes per day regardless of your party affiliation to center your life. Sometimes my radio will land on a ânews stationâ, and I can feel my blood pressure rise as the most divisive topic of the day is being discussed with a majority of the facts not being considered. I am not recommending folks to ignore whatâs happening in our world, but would point out that our country has survived many decades without the need for âup to the secondâ news reports. Most of the things we worry about will never happen and it seems our country is living in a constant state of fear which is certainly to blame for the vitriol. There will never be a point where everyone in the country will collectively say we are all happy with everything, but I still have a deep believe that with constructive conversations and true empathy we can get us close. When I get my boat in the water I would love to have an ice cold Bud Light while listening to my relaxing boat playlist, and of course talking with my favorite sports writer. Thatâs an invitation Mike. Great article.

âBud Light sales are down between 26% and 35% nationwide additionally Budweiser and other AB brands (Michelob Ultra, Busch Light and Natural Light to name a few) have also taken a hit of around 11%.â
All the more reason to explain what set this off. Completely unhinged.
âMy take, buy Coors stock nowâ
And that statement reinforces my point since Coors has been a decades long supporter of LGBT rights probably the biggest supporter (it all began with a workegay alliance boycott ironically⊠or not)
âCoors Light has been a sponsor of The Center and Denver PrideFest for decades,â says Rex Fuller, CEO of The Center on Colfax. âThe work we have been able to do at The Center over the last four decades would not be possible without this support and we are grateful for it.â
Beyond supporting Denver PrideFest, Molson Coors has a distinguished history of supporting LGBTQ communities across the country, with significant support for organizations such as Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Matthew Shepard Foundation, National Amateur Gay Athletics Association of America, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, LGBT Victory Institute, Out & Equal, and One Colorado.
In addition to these partners, Molson Coors works with local LGBTQ organizations in key communities through its Tap Into Change program. Annually, the summer program donates more than $100,000 to these organizations with a consistent growth in impact each year. Events take place in each city to help raise additional funds, awareness, and support for the missions of these local organizations. Over the past 10 years, Tap Into Change has raised nearly $600,000 for local LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS nonprofits.

This is even though like 2006, 2010 and 2014 they had to go through boycotts for this. And they did shrink back in response, but also came right back and didnât move backwards for long.
And what will I do?
Continue drinking Corona because I drink what I drink.
Itâs damn near impossible to do a successful boycott long term. The web of corporate connections means when you think youâre hurting one, itâs actually benefitting another one connected to it.
The beverage brand that owns Budweiser, Corona, and Stella Artois, is suing US beer-maker Constellation Brands for using the Corona brand name in a hard seltzer, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.
Beverage giant Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) acquired Coronaâs parent company, Grupo Modelo, in 2013, but US antitrust regulators required it to sell the companyâs US-based business to Constellation. AB InBev retained rights to the products in other markets, and the deal gave Constellation the rights to produce Corona and other Modelo brands in the US.

Bud Light has been the best selling beer in the USA for over 20 years and the normal volume of sales is 27 million barrels a year or 1134 million gallons. I donât ever want to hear about people calling âthe libsâ snowflakes or use their center liberal stances as a weakness. These champions of âconservativesâ are gullible whiny babies.
I watched in real time a bunch of idiots blow something up out of nothing and then saw them flocking to the internet people with their influencer pages and podcasts and publications where immediately they were being hawked âanti-wokeâ beer and all these other wares, often made by the same places they are boycotting for double the price.

For me⊠Bud Light as a âbeerâ sucks. I would rather support local breweries that provide far better beers. As far as this column⊠as far as AB selecting this influencer in their campaign I have no opinion on it or that person. Up to each to decide for themselves.
Regarding this column actually Mike what you are writing is basically the same as the boycott and the changes in attitudes (political divide) of the country. Often used by politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle screaming to be open, defending oneÂŽs right to choose, freedom of speech etc.. and this is the most important part..âunless it does not validate their opinion or viewâ. This is exactly what you are writing. So if someone elects to boycott something and we know the WOKE police and Leftists enjoy not only condemning opposing viewpoints to the point of boycotting, attacking employers for the âviewsâ of their employees etc⊠and demanding they be removed from the position their are in. So if someone boycotts something let them⊠I would ask you⊠why does it offend you that others are using their constitutional right by boycotting (freedom of speech). I always respect otherÂŽs opinions and even when we do not agree. Sadly we live in a world where people are afraid to speak up due to the potential ramifications. None of us will always agree and I know the powers to be are trying to âforceâ us to all be uniform in our opinions which is sad. And btw Bud Light is terrible anyway⊠How about you focus on sports.

TOM DONNEEMay 31, 2023 at 05:55Report
Agree Phil. Well done Mike!! Waiting for my daughter to come out of surgery. Then weâll stop for a cold one, think Iâll make it a Bud Lite!!!

Mr. DiMauro is always thoughtful and intelligent. The best writer at the day. Give the guy a raise.

| So I have bought a new tank for my five pea puffers (which I believe are 1 male to 4 females). Itâs bigger than their old temporary one (now a 25G) , with lots of plants, rocks and hiding spaces. I also added 10 neon tetra to their tank to make âem a bit less lonely. (As for feeding, the tetras absolutely devour all of my puffersâ food so Iâve changed their diet to dry pellets, while hand feeding bloodworms to my puffers. Only way to keep all of them eatingâŠ) This is my first time planting an aquarium and really putting some effort into the scape, using Fluval Stratum as my substrate. (If you got any better ideas in next projects let me know!) Now to my question, lol Iâbe noticed that now (around 2 weeks after the tetras arrived) that their fins are a little bitten. Some in the top, some in the bottom, mostly on the tail though. Iâm assuming this is the work of my puffers. Is this a sign of distress for them? Should I add more puffers? Or perhaps more tetras even? Just to balance the teams around, have them fight less. Also, I was wondering. Could I add a small Pleco? Or a dwarf crayfish? Iâm in love with bottom feeders and Iâd want one to help me clean the tank, but I donât want anything thatâd harm my already existing fish, or mess around with the substrate too much (since it is, well, dirt.) and have the water all cloudy. Thanks in advance! submitted by SoCoolWowww to PeaPuffers [link] [comments] |
