2023.03.29 01:39 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Graphics: What Improvements Could We See?
As technology continues to improve, it's safe to say that we can expect significant graphical improvements in GTA 6 compared to its predecessor, GTA 5. Here are a few areas where we could potentially see major improvements:
Realistic lighting: With advancements in graphics technology, we can expect to see more realistic lighting effects in GTA 6. This could include better shadows, reflections, and lighting that changes based on the time of day and weather conditions.
Improved textures: Rockstar Games is known for their attention to detail, and we can expect that to continue with GTA 6. We could see improved textures for everything from characters to buildings to vehicles, making the game look even more realistic.
More detailed environments: In GTA 6, we could potentially see more detailed environments, with more NPCs walking around and more interactive objects to interact with. This could create a more immersive experience for players and make the game world feel even more alive.
Enhanced weather effects: Weather has always played a role in the GTA series, but we could see even more impressive weather effects in GTA 6. This could include realistic rain, thunderstorms, and even hurricanes or tornadoes.
Overall, we can expect the graphics in GTA 6 to be a major step up from its predecessor, with more attention to detail and more immersive environments. It's sure to be a visual feast for fans of the series.

2023.03.29 00:39 xAmarok "Well behaved dog? It's not luck, it's dedication!"
One of those nonsense GSD videos popped up on my feed even though I always hide them. On a side note, why does FB think I would suddenly like to view them after explicitly hiding them months ago?
Yes it is BOTH luck and dedication. Don't make me feel bad because I can't stitch together a few clips of my dog heeling, down staying in a department store or walking next to other dogs. I already wake up at 12am every day to give my dog her dose of clonidine so she isn't an anxious wreck in the morning then get up again at 5.30am to take her out for a walk before the off leash muppets arrive. Rainy weather? In winter? Best time!
It IS luck to get a dog that is temperamentally stable, whose mum didn't undergo any stress, a dog without chronic pain conditions and that didn't experience anything traumatic in their first few weeks of life. Try training a dog who can't get enough sleep because she is randomly triggered by things out of our control (I know her trigger, I just can't predict when it will happen) thanks to early trauma and only has maybe 6 good days in a month.
I'm so happy our vet behaviourist isn't judgemental. She asked if we had done any training lately. I said not at all because our girl is either asleep or freaking out, there is no in between and it is hard to predict when she will be doing either. She just said ah and started formulating a plan.

2023.03.29 00:15 skyelaw Asking AI about COL and after-tax remaining income
I've been toying with AI for the past few weeks and asked it how cost of living differences (assuming a single with no dependents) between some big and small legal markets impact the after-tax remaining proceeds. I've copied and pasted the results below.
The markets were NY, Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta and Denver. I'm familiar with NY and it seems roughly right but curious if it is roughly right for the other markets as well - if you're familiar with any of them, let me know what you think!
I started my career in NYC and feel there were lots of non-financial (food, culture, nightlife) and financial (wealth of inhouse opps) benefits to working and living in the city, but the 50K difference in after-tax proceeds in the bank account would have been worthy of some consideration.
----------AI response------------
To provide you with a detailed comparison of the cost of living expenses in New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta, and Denver, I'll break down the main categories: housing, transportation, utilities, groceries, and healthcare. Please note that these are approximate values, and actual costs may vary depending on your lifestyle choices and specific neighborhood.
- Housing (rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in a mid-range area):
- New York: $2,500 - $3,500 per month
- Chicago: $1,600 - $2,300 per month
- Washington DC: $2,000 - $2,700 per month
- Atlanta: $1,300 - $1,800 per month
- Denver: $1,500 - $2,000 per month
- Transportation (public transportation and/or car ownership):
- New York: $127 (30-day MetroCard) + occasional taxi/rideshare
- Chicago: $105 (30-day CTA Pass) + occasional taxi/rideshare or car-related expenses
- Washington DC: $100 (30-day SmarTrip card) + occasional taxi/rideshare or car-related expenses
- Atlanta: $95 (30-day MARTA Pass) + occasional taxi/rideshare or car-related expenses
- Denver: $114 (30-day RTD Pass) + occasional taxi/rideshare or car-related expenses
- Utilities (electricity, heating, cooling, water, garbage for an 85m2 apartment):
- New York: $130 - $180 per month
- Chicago: $120 - $170 per month
- Washington DC: $110 - $160 per month
- Atlanta: $120 - $170 per month
- Denver: $100 - $150 per month
- Groceries:
- New York: $400 - $600 per month
- Chicago: $350 - $550 per month
- Washington DC: $350 - $550 per month
- Atlanta: $300 - $500 per month
- Denver: $325 - $525 per month
- Healthcare (insurance premium and out-of-pocket expenses):
- New York: $350 - $500 per month
- Chicago: $300 - $450 per month
- Washington DC: $300 - $450 per month
- Atlanta: $250 - $400 per month
- Denver: $275 - $425 per month
Now let's calculate your approximate monthly take-home pay after federal, state, and city income taxes. Assuming you are single with no dependents, your salary is $215,000, and you have $100,000 in student loan debt, your tax rates are as follows:
- Federal income tax rate: 24%
- State income tax rates: NY: 6.41%, IL: 4.95%, DC: 6.5%, GA: 5.75%, CO: 4.55%
- City income tax rates: NY: 3.87%, Chicago: None, DC: None, Atlanta: None, Denver: None
To calculate your take-home pay, we can use the following formula:
Take-home pay = Gross salary - (Gross salary * Federal tax rate) - (Gross salary * State tax rate) - (Gross salary * City tax rate)
After calculating the take-home pay for each city, we'll subtract the major cost of living expenses to determine the remaining income:
- New York:
- Take-home pay: $123,679
- Expenses: $54,444 - $75,540
- Remaining income: $48,139 - $69,235
- Chicago:
- Take-home pay: $139,537
- Expenses: $41,640 - $57,420
- Remaining income: $82,117 - $97,897
- Washington DC:
- Take-home pay: $136,085
- Expenses: $43,320 - $60,420
- Remaining income: $75,665 - $92,765
- Atlanta:
- Take-home pay: $141,122
- Expenses: $38,940 - $53,400
- Remaining income: $87,722 - $102,182
- Denver:
- Take-home pay: $142,918
- Expenses: $39,948 - $55,020
- Remaining income: $87,898 - $102,970

2023.03.29 00:08 cooljesus69 We did it! I'm married! Here is my budget breakdown for my March 18 wedding in Austin, TX.
Here are some of our BEAUTIFUL photos! This was just a sneak peek and they are stunning. I can't wait to get the rest!
My day has come and went on March 18th and it was an absolute dream. It truly felt like a fairytale and we are over the moon happy. Being married is so cool!
That being said I wanted to do a wedding recap. This was super helpful to me while I was planning and I hope it’s helpful to others too!
EST. BUDGET: We wanted to stay between $10,000 and $12,000
WHAT WE PAID: $12,525
This is a rough estimate and doesn’t include tips, gifts for family & friends, or taxes. I didn’t track all of that but the overall number is fairly accurate.
So there are a few things I wanted to talk about. We invited 74, 40 RSVPd yes and only 30 showed. I was pretty upset over this mostly because it was my family that ghosted and didn’t show up. They didn’t text me or call me or anything. It was hurtful at the time but now a couple of weeks later, I’m not even upset about it. It’s their loss! One of my husband's friends ended up flirting with my photographer and making her uncomfy, idk why it even has to be said but no one should try making their move on a professional who is working. It was a bit chilly but we had heaters and no rain as the forecast had predicted! Besides the few snafus we had with guests, I had such a wonderful day and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I have bad anxiety and get stressed out really easily and I had like 9 people tell me how chill I was lol which is a huge deal for someone like me. My table numbers weren’t put up correctly. Who cares? No one noticed. My husband took the keys to the truck I was going to meet him at Sekrit Theater with and he had to turn around which delayed us a bit. Whatever! My advice: enjoy your day and don’t dwell on the negative things that are BOUND to happen. Take the time to eat with your new spouse. We had the BESTTTT meal and he was even able to have seconds lol. That time was crucial for us and I valued it very much. Do a first look if you want, it didn’t change my husband’s reaction when I walked down the aisle. He cried, I ugly cried. It was beautiful and special for both of us. Don’t let anybody bully you about what you should and should not do for your wedding. Plenty of people had opinions and I literally didn’t care. It was our day and it was perfect. Soak it all in! 🫶🏻🤍
BREAKDOWN:
Venue - $7000. We did a 60 guest all-inclusive package. I paid a little extra for a cocktail hour charcuterie board and extra time at the venue. Our venue included everything: tables + linens, food, cake, bartenders (we provided alcohol), decor, officiant, DJ, florals, coordinator, literally EVERYTHING. The owner kept saying all I needed was a dress and a groom and it’s so true. They made my day unbelievably stress-free and I would go with them 10000 times over. I highly recommend finding a venue like this if you can!
Alcohol - $600. We bought too much and we actually ended up getting $140 back after we returned it to Total Wine!
Dress + accessories - $1075. My mom paid for my dress which was $750 from David’s Bridal. I got custom sleeves created for my dress and that was $210. My accessories were about $60 from Etsy (bracelet, necklace, hairpiece + earrings), my Pearl veil was $25 from SHEIN, and I wore sparkly Toms that were $30 on Amazon.
Favors - $110 for 60 from Etsy. We did personalized magnets and everyone loved them!
Photographer - $1700. She was originally booked for $1200 but we paid her an extra $500 for travel to Austin (3 hours from where we live in DFW). She is amazing and I’m so thankful we went with her. Our photos turned out beautifully.
Hair & makeup - $625. It was really pricy for just me getting services done, however, we got married in a HCOL area and it was pretty on par with what I was seeing from other vendors. My trial was $225 and day of was $400. I felt beautiful for the first time in my life and it was worth it.
Hotel - $710. We stayed at a lakeside condo where our bridal party also got condos at. It was super helpful for us to be in one spot and it was beautiful too.
Rings - $420. I have a moissanite engagement ring and decided to get a moissanite band. Mine was $380 and my husband’s ring was $40.
Photo session - $200. I booked two hours of photography at Sekrit Theater in Austin. This was worth every single penny. It felt like we were in a magical fantasy land and it was stunning. My fave posed photos are definitely from here! I 100% suggest checking it out if you’re in the area!
Dessert table - $145. I got 40 mini pies from Walmart for $.74 a piece and 60 Bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes for $112. These were both a hit!
Husbands attire - $580. His suit was $500 from Men’s Wearhouse and looked so good on him. I got him custom cufflinks of our pets and his tie, he had everything else like his shoes, tie clips and undershirts.
Decor + signage - estimated around $200-$250. I got our neon sign for $130 on Amazon, and I designed my signs on Canva and printed them at Walgreens for about $10 a piece for my seating chart and welcome sign. The bar sign was like $.80. I got frames for the bar sign and guestbook station from Michael’s for like $5. Our guestbook was a cheap vinyl record I got for like $.10 at a thrift store that I got stickers for to cover the center with our engagement photos that were $20. Other bits and bobs like the card box sign, vow books, dessert table sign, etc, were from Hobby Lobby and I got them on sale but can’t remember what I paid.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any recommendations or advice!

2023.03.29 00:07 Zeus8724 Relationship Honesty
Before getting with you they told you and many others how bad their ex(13yrs together) treated them and how good you(5 months together) treated them. The last time they said they loved me without it being a cushion for bad news was a month before the break up with you over text and say they can't handle a relationship right now and can't be with anyone of their opposite gender and they haven't even figured out their feelings from their last relationship. In random conversations they claimed their ex was doing better since they moved out, but claimed it was an assumption because they weren't talking even though they are still friends, and they also had extra stress and no time working 2 jobs. Also a family member with personal issues needed their attention and that's why they couldn't spend time with me. Rather than text I needed an in person discussion and they agreed, but I had to work so I was waiting for a better time. Well I got off early the night they wanted to talk, so I drove down. Upon arriving they got off early and I saw them drive off and head toward their ex's place. When confronted about where they went that night they thought it was raining until i said snowing and then they said they were just hanging out and waiting for about 30 min because there was a blizzard and then went home. The weather report said light snow and the storm lasted an hour after the 30 min. Later, with good reason, they said we were broken up so who they spend time with is none of my business. Then I later got yelled at by text saying they were driving a different car than what I saw 2 weeks ago so it couldn't be them, but the day I saw them was 3 weeks ago not 2 and they were driving the car I saw. So I took it as them calling me a liar and stalker and trying to make me look like a monster when I did nothing wrong but see them drive away. I have my opinions of what was happening, but I would like some outside opinions and thoughts. I kept this post gender neutral to help rule out bias

2023.03.28 23:49 Deadman-744 Rain?
Traveling to Hawaii next week and the forecast shows rain throughout the week. Is that normal for this time of year? Should we expect steady rain throughout the day or pockets of rain but otherwise dry weather? How accurate is the forecast typically this far in advance?

2023.03.28 23:46 safewatersai SafeWaters.AI: An innovative approach to shark attack risk forecasts - your thoughts?
Hey there, Reddit community!
As a surfer, self-taught machine learning developer, and Shark Week fanatic, I've been working on a project that combines my passions and addresses a real-world problem. I'm excited to share it with you all and would love to hear your thoughts and get some feedback. I call it Safewaters AI - a shark attack risk forecast app that I recently launched on Indiegogo (
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/safewaters-ai-shark-attack-risk-forecast-app/reft/33062993/5).
The idea was sparked by my own experiences as a surfer and my love for the ocean. I wanted to create an accessible, user-friendly tool to help people stay informed about potential risks when it comes to shark attacks. Safewaters AI uses artificial intelligence to analyze past shark attack and weather data, providing users with real-time forecasts of shark attack risks at specific beaches.
If we reach our fundraising goal, we're planning to have the app fully launched by July. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the concept and would appreciate any feedback you might have. If you have any questions about the development process or the app's features, I'd be more than happy to answer them.
Thanks for taking the time to read about Safewaters AI, and I'm looking forward to your input!

2023.03.28 23:33 BreakfastNeither696 SOS!! New Grad with 2 job offers!
Hi SOS. I have two job offers (new grad PA) and I am SO TORN. Please help me choose! Details below:
OPTION 1:
- would require a 3000 mile move (literally one corner of the US to the opposite corner). I have a relocation stipend but wouldn’t cover all the costs. Would be very far away from my family and my husband’s family.
- area is RURAL RURAL. Like a 2 hour drive from the nearest Target rural. Theres a grocery store, pharmacy, etc and I could live in town but nearest town with a concert hall or an airport is 1.5-2 hours away and the pass is treacherous during snow so they sometimes close it. Might get trapped for a few months out of the year which is a concern because my family will be 3000 miles away. If something happens to someone I might not be able to get out there. I might also not be able to visit for holidays etc.
- the town is GORGEOUS. Looks like it’s out of a movie. Mountains and a huge lake. Tons of hiking, kayaking, etc. On the west coast, new opportunity for adventure, travel to new places while we’re young.
- Can’t do a move like this later when we have kids.
- Would require driving on snow and ice (I’m from FL so this would be an adjustment. Would also need to trade in my car for a car with 4 wheel drive)
- not my favorite patient population, less fulfilling. They do seem flexible to allow me to work with my preferred population where they can but it’s not guaranteed
- 20-25 patients daily. Would require more than 40 hours weekly to catch up on charts
- company culture is the DREAM. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Incredibly supportive, great rapport, tons of special events and outings as a group including weekly dinners to 4-star restaurant (and my husband is invited). Company is willing to do anything for their employees and patients. Patients were having transportation issues so they literally bought a car to help patients with transport problems. I was floored by how much everyone actually loved their job. CEO literally drove me around town for 2 hours to show me around town and gave me her cell phone number for if I need anything.
- annual bonus and salary increase + 401K starting at 2% match with annual increases up to 7%
- Would make my own schedule (work 36 hours split any time I want from 9-6 M-F and 8-1 on Sat). 3 12’s, 4 10’s, 4 6’s, or any combination.
$102K salary + 20K sign on bonus (idk how long I’d have to stay) + 5K relocation
PTO: 192 hours; annual increase by 8 up to 216 hours; 8 holidays — total 256 hours
OPTION 2:
- Relatively local, would only need to move 3 hours away.
- Semi-rural area, 30 minutes from the nearest large city (thinking airport, concerts, and Target). Already pretty familiar with the area.
- Close to family, would be nearby for holidays and to help out with elderly family members.
- Right by the outer banks and Virginia beach, would be amazing for taking vacations with minimal travel
- Easier moving, wouldn’t need a new car. Used to weather and could travel anywhere, anytime.
- Working with my absolute FAVORITE patient population half of my shifts. They learned about my passion for this population and created this role just for me. Would be piloting a new program with this population so I could do it exactly what I want it and make it all mine. Might have some issues with support through the growing pains of this new project but I would be so excited to do it because I love this group of patients.
- 8-18 patients daily. Would be able to finish charting before getting home. Lots of downtime.
- Better housing market, more options for houses at a more affordable cost. Coworker has connections with housing, could help us find a great house easily
- Company culture seems fine, pretty supportive. One employee I spoke with said that it’s much better than it was when she started 9 years ago and she’s very happy now. Good onboarding and great support from other providers
- no annual bonus + 401K after the first year, 3% match
$110K salary
PTO: 120 hours; 12 holidays; 10 sick days — total 296 hours

2023.03.28 23:21 Assault-Rifle I need help with caloric intake, my activity level varies throughout the week.
Today is my 4th day keto. When I started I was 169 lbs and according to BF assessment pics in the ketogains macrocalculator, around 17% body fat. I weighed 165.8 lbs this morning. I'm sure most of that weight loss was water and glycogen. My goal is to lose body fat to get set up to do a proper bulk. I believe I read that I should get to about 10% BF before bulking. (Is this correct, or do I not need to go that low?) I've never done a cut before and I want to make sure I'm getting my calorie intake as dialed in as possible. I definitely don't want to mess up my metabolism.
I currently do IF and a 6-8 hr feeding window. I don't lift weights while fasting. I do a full body workout 3 days a week, alternating between 2 workouts. Workout A is 3 sets of 6-8 reps each of DB Bench, Hex Bar Squats, and Rows. Workout B is 3 sets of 6-8 reps each of Weighted Pullups, Romanian Deadlift, and Shoulder Press. This is also fairly high intensity, especially when squatting.
I take a few 45 minute or so walks each week which the Alltrails app says I burn about 200 calories. The number of times can vary depending on weather. And I also like to take fairly strenuous hikes one a week or so for 1 - 1.5 hours.
I also take 1-1.5 hrs of Krav Maga class once or twice a week.
I don't have a desk job and I'm not sedentary, but I also don't walk all day so it's not like a factory job. I do stand up a lot of the time and I intentionally try to walk as much as possible. After putting in my info into the calculator with 2 different activity levels this is what I got:
Lightly Active : 1766 kcal and 1956 on lift days Moderately Active : 1973 kcal and 2163 on lift days
On a separate note, the ketogains calculator suggests significantly less calories per day than other macro calculators I've tried.
Any advice to help me really dial in my calorie intake would be appreciated. I'm thinking I probably need to vary the calorie intake depending on activity level but I'm not exactly sure how to set that up. I have no problem hitting my protein macros regardless.

2023.03.28 23:14 Coffeecakerat 23 [F4R] Canada/anywhere - looking for a connection :)
Hi there! I have the week off and am starting a new job Monday, so I’ve been spending it wisely doing…. Absolutely nothing lol. Maybe you could help fill up some of that time? I’m looking for a friendship, someone to talk to through out the day with.
The warm weather has got me feeling happy as gardening is my favourite thing to pass the time and summer is my favourite season. I love flowers, spending time outside and you can catch me every Saturday at the farmers market. The environment is something I’m really into! My goal is to one day live on a farm with lots of space (and no people).
I pass most of my off time crafting, and am currently making my first quilt. I bounce between crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking and cross stitching. Working with my hands and having a finished product feels great!
As for me: I am on the smaller side at 5’2 have blue eyes and dark blonde hair :)
Hope to hear from you!

2023.03.28 22:54 SasquatchExists Latest 50° on record?
Warning: weather nerd question…
So I think we all know by now it’s looking very likely we won’t hit 50° in March this year (in the twin cities). This will be the first time we haven’t hit 50° in March since 2001. 23 years ago.
Does anyone know the latest date to hit 50° for the first time in a calendar year in the twin cities (MSP airport specifically)? Looking at forecasts, it’s looking likely we may not see a single 50° day even out into mid-April (albeit 10 day outlooks are a bit unpredictable).
I’m thinking this has to be close to an all-time record, if not a record (if we make it to mid-April). Anyone know? I can’t seem to find any historical info online about it.

2023.03.28 21:55 SquatThePlanet I am re-creating the Abomination Vaults as 3D battle maps in Unreal Engine 5
| Gauntlight Ruins - WIP - UE5.1 Hello there! My name is Matt, and as my first foray into the map making world, I'd like to share with you my project to bring the Abomination Vaults PF2e campaign to life as 3D battle maps using the Unreal Engine 5 software. It is my goal to re-create all ten levels of this campaign as a set of animated top-down battle maps. Additionally, I will be creating a set of sceneries (cinematic perspective and point-of view shots of these battle maps) for each level to show your players during games. As of March 2023, the first level (Gauntlight Ruins) is approximately 50% finished. A4 - Maggot Training Hall - Work in Progress My plan is to release the maps of each level as they are finished (starting with the first level and going down), including every version (day/night/weather), size/resolution (1080p and 4k), and static/animated versions, for FREE, to everyone to use in their games. I'm doing this to get more practice with 3D environment design (I'm pretty new to it) and I'm hoping folks will give me some constructive input and help me make this the best map possible. A one-minute progress video for your viewing pleasure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_yQaumG2HI I expect it to take several months to finish the entire campaign, but if you'd like to follow along and provide encouragement or input, I'll be blogging my progress as things come along on my ko-fi page: https://ko-fi.com/wereravenmaps If you want to support me there, that would be great, but there's no donation/membership required to see any of my progress. I already have tons of screenshots from the very start of building this map to now (about two months of progress), and I will be posting there every few days as the project evolves. A15 - Nhimbaloth's Shrine - Super Duper Alpha WIP Thanks to everyone in this community for the wonderful help and conversations you've given me with Pathfinder so far, I look forward to contributing back! submitted by SquatThePlanet to Pathfinder2e [link] [comments] |
