2023.03.29 02:56 True_Candle_1994 Taming, Shamanism, Sailing
I would like to point out some Pros and cons to all off these ideas. (I was that guy in the past joking sailing would make for a fantastic new skill), (I was also one of those people who didn't like summoning), (I also stopped playing for sometime when PVP was in a funny place.. This was after they had the "PVP MODES" where the guards actually served a purpose for wandering.)
Taming (this was my original post)
My thoughts on this one are, a bit of an ah-ha moment, so I am proposing a thought it's not what I "want" to happen.
New skill Taming, now before you start writing how much you hate me hold on a moment I did start diving into this new idea, which my mind just happened to help me with. adding to it if you will, only make the idea stronger.
The ability to have any "NPC" take this as Frank as you'd like.
Example giving nieve a Bandos plate to have them follow you around. ( Stuck In their external loop of following u, because they in this case think you, will give them another one. )
Pros are the item will inflate in price this can generate an item sink.
Cons the item will not continue to be sunk as it would be one time achievable as a award for reaching certain levels.
Also could argue that's not a con.
As for basic leveling take an imp for instance, using "lore" god forbid I use this.
so I'll just say the drop tables... Find what item is dropped quite often and use this as the materials to also increase the demand of "Slaying monsters."
In the case of this monster my idea would be they charish beads so you would hoax them into taking the bead and they will follow you for a set time.
Set the time short for lower levels and longer for higher levels and that can be determined by the incentive given and gradually decreases over time ( this could be the taming part people would be interested in. )
I don't want to specualate to far. To help creativity tho, this skill would give the player a small advantage to help assist In the creation of being able to really change the way people think of the other skills.
Idea: sticking with the imps, have it so the imp following you gives you a "item find" ability. This would decrease drop table rates no lower then .01 percent is a sizable difference. Also the imp would have a time following till he gets bored and leaves. This would not have the same implement as a tamed NPC that's permanent solidifing the fact the they would denote you level visually but have stratigic buffs to counter the new equipment with is very overpowered.
To end this I also want to add making some of these NPCs wearable for cosmetic people as I know this would also drive the price of the dropped items to try and tame the NPC they want ( this idea is more satire then anything )
Idea: to tame a man or lady you give them coins until a successful lure then they follow you but for a short time or "in the area" asking for more money repeatedly and allowing you to give the one following you money but not giving experience.
After Watching the Pitch
Taming, The ability to catch "osrsmons" and level them. only, these monsters can hit other "Trainers" in PvP combat? This was not made clear but they did say "Don't worry - with this in mind, we plan to be very cautious with any changes that might effect combat"
Also in the pitch they spoke out that some of these pets are only going to be for Clout?
Another thing to consider is server performance as not everyone is walking around with a "pet" at the very moment. (not discussing the spooned people or very talented only the average player base) its already rare to have something follow you permanently. So what does really getting to know your pet mean?
Also how many tamed mobs can you have and would it be another tab that has a call ability, or do you have to go to your house to "Retrieve"?
Does the tamed pet have its own house in the "new areas"? (maybe this is how you can keep the homes for the Main reward for the lvls)
so to keep the value of the already content, this need to be addressed for sure. (one can also argue the fact that the "Pets" at least from skills aren't acquirable threw "taming/Attacking", well.... you are Technically attacking the trees, fish Etc. in some strange sublime way.)
This does however, create a issue for having a "tamed" -mob?
In my opinion, this shouldn't be a permanent, as they would have their own Traits. I am assuming but, if you have a "bird" maybe the trait is the creature can grab items for you, kind of like how tele grab works, to keep this exciting a suggestion could be the bird has a set amount of Hp and can be attacked. (Of course this is if they go with the ability to use tamed pets in PvP combat. I also feel this should only be able to happen in Multi combat areas, and the "tamed creature" Should be "Trained?" or take the level you are upon entering combat areas.)
To deal with this power creep in multi combat areas you and your "tamed creature" should take damage threw the same hp as we see in the mini map. (maybe with a split health allowing the defense oriented "tamed creature" to act like "Over eating", this would need to be balanced but, may present more options in the already broken power creep with the "right items", another feature could be stuns created much like a snare, or taunts that help pull the oppositions focus to the "tamed creature".)
From what everyone knows now though.
Pro: Ability to fly or ride mounts? (Like a teleport?)
Pro: Your companion could assist you in moving on to other content. (This could help with diversity in locations)
Pro: Actually benefits Mental health (Creating the caring response, and allowing for engaged learning)
Pro: Your companion might teach you a new trick (Fastest paths - Faster training methods - Dangerous activity stimulating)
Pro: "you can get that pet you always wanted."
Vague Pro: You will have a Pking partner always that also has its own RNG and Traits? (like making a "pure"?)
Pro: can limit the factor of necessary items. (EG. tele grab, snares)
Pro: more factors for aggressive players. (Rushers would now have to take into account for a taunting creature, which instead of just instantly dying or needing to always hover over "tabs" the taunting creature could aggress the attack taking a RNG damage Output. EG. upon aggressing the opponent takes the first tick no matter what this could include two attacks with the right timing, then your RNG factors whether your creature takes damage or you do.)
con: can create a stigma. (that is if you lose this create to neglect etc.)
con: performance to servers
con: can be abused, this will also create a new "skill threshold"
con: creates content that will become stale. (unless the outcome is detrimental to account, like raising a combat lvl, this will create new states of account.)
con: higher level pking will become obtuse. (not like it already isn't, power in this game should be treated as "Experienced" instead of Experience, this would create the award for experience allowing for new players to "feel" the power of Expertise.)
I'm going to stop adding to this as the idea isn't anything but vague.
Shamanism
This seems almost very much like a wild card that can go any way.
From what they tell us this can be very game changing helping with both the utility to help yourself in many ways to stop the power creep in the game, some ideas I have in mind is have a few more rare drops that you can modify your already collected items. (barrows items can be "blessed? Tributed? Enriched?")
Allowing for the older items to also hold new value be it a extreme this would be an option for people who acquire the level for the reward(s).
Another feature that could come of this is to be one with an element to increase the effect of specific spells, attack etc. much like the Charge spell.
Maybe deep delving the spirit realm can be the stronger approach to one side of something.
Shamanism Could be very helpful to fill in the "blanks".
From what we know.
Pro: Abilities to counter the already crazy meta.
Pro: Creates new content
Pro: Adds more depth to completion of tasks.
Pro: Can be used to influence other skills items etc.
Con: May make more clutter in the inventory during specific things
Con: May add a higher skill dependency due to things being untradable (unless the content isn't boring or complicated)
Con: Could be elaborate farming skill with benefits
I'm sure there is lots more to talk about but this one is by far the craziest idea that could idea split off into many factors like a shaman who appreciates the elements compared to a shaman that steals the life from creatures to benefit or you could have a shaman with only the goal to keep the team alive.
Sailing
This one by far is the one I joke about the most... but in the circumstances it will actually become pirates of the Caribbean we might as well discuss how practical it is from when we have been told.
For myself this one is the most confusing.
How would you buy, steal or hire the boat. if you hire a boat does this make it "peaceful" if you steal a boat is this from a hired boat, if you buy a boat can people hire you? .... this made my brain hurt. but only time can tell what this means.
On the other hand the new water would be a very interesting feature but leaving the awkward facts of what happens if you die at sea do you arrive in Lumbridge?
What happens to the boat?
can u ship wreck?
could this create more content around other skills that don't get trained as much threw the boring methods like "catching fish" or would this be a hunting ability that give fish as a reward and sometime loot with I could only assume would be a sailing reward.
Can we get mini bosses like a Tempoross but the elite version that you need full spirit angler to fight? or having a Kraken but you need slayer level to? (hunting elusive sea creature)
Or maybe a version of fishing trawler you can do on you own boat? (deep sea fishing)
Navigational challenges much like the crazy directions the ships go that you pay for, only this time since its free you have to do it! (navigating training!)
Navigational challenges just you get paid for it (Delivering packages from A to B)
New content! (new islands to explore) < --- Zeah
Sorry I really didnt want to meme this but I couldn't help it.
What we know tho.
Pro: You can own a boat
Pro: You can steal a bought
Pro: You can sail Beyond your wildest dreams
Pro: Raids might become PvP on the sea where you can have your friends conquer other peoples vessels and command a army bigger then in the wild only there will be no where to go, besides teleing out and Abandon ship!
Pro: Lots of new ideas
Con: Might change the outlook of the point and click structure.
Con: May increase server load as the sea would have a lot of animation.
really hard to think of all the bad things this would bring to be honest this one stumps me the most as it brings a lot of new content that may bring more people to the game due to the niche. (lets face it most of us are stuck playing the game we aren't leaving)
This is my opinion, so don't take it to heart and just know that its the future of the game.. i remember when everyone said they would quit if things got added look at us now!

2023.03.29 02:52 defialpro John Wick Chapter 5 Premise
Synopsis: After the events of John Wick 4, John (Keanu Reeves) has successfully faked his own death and escaped the High Table's reach. Living in hiding under a new identity in a small European village, he tries to leave his violent past behind. Meanwhile, the High Table has expanded its operations, infiltrating governments in Africa and South America and consolidating its power.
The U.S. Government, concerned by the High Table's growing influence, decides to locate and recruit John Wick as an asset in their fight against the secret organization. General James Mitchell (Idris Elba), the head of a special task force, has been deployed to these locations with his team but has made little progress in eliminating the upper echelons of the cabal of assassins.
Desperate for a breakthrough, General Mitchell enlists the help of Agent Sarah Andrews (Jessica Chastain), a CIA operative with a deep knowledge of the High Table's operations. Agent Andrews is tasked with finding John Wick and persuading him to join their cause.
After a relentless search, Agent Andrews locates John and convinces him to help, appealing to his desire for justice and revenge against the High Table. John agrees to work with the U.S. Government but under one condition: he will only answer to Agent Andrews, who he trusts to understand the complexity of the situation.
Together, John, Agent Andrews, and General Mitchell's elite task force embark on a dangerous mission to infiltrate the High Table's bases in Africa and South America. They discover that the High Table has been using their influence in these regions to control valuable resources and destabilize local governments, further expanding their power.
As they delve deeper into the High Table's operations, they face numerous challenges, including corrupt officials, treacherous terrain, and the High Table's deadliest assassins. Along the way, John reconnects with old allies, including the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Sofia (Halle Berry), who provide invaluable support to their mission.
In a thrilling series of battles and covert operations, John Wick: Operation Chimera explores the geopolitical implications of the High Table's activities and the true cost of power. John must confront his past and face the consequences of his actions as he fights to dismantle the High Table's global network and prevent their insidious influence from spreading further.
In the end, John must decide if his pursuit of vengeance is worth the price of his own humanity, and whether he can truly escape the world he once knew.
INT. WINSTON'S OFFICE - NIGHT
Winston (Ian McShane), the manager of the Continental Hotel, sits behind his desk, sipping a glass of whiskey. The office is dimly lit, filled with antique furniture and an air of sophistication. The phone rings, and Winston answers.
WINSTON: Continental Hotel, Winston speaking.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O.): Mr. Winston, my name is Sarah. I'm a close associate of Charon's and, in fact, his sister. I was devastated to hear about his death. I'd like to come to the Continental to collect his belongings and pay my respects.
WINSTON (saddened): My deepest condolences, Sarah. Charon was a loyal and dedicated colleague, and he will be dearly missed. You are more than welcome to come and collect his belongings.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O.): Thank you, Mr. Winston. I appreciate your kind words. By the way, I've heard John Wick was a close friend of my brother. Do you know what he's been up to lately? I'd like to speak with him if possible.
Winston becomes visibly concerned and adamant.
WINSTON: I'm afraid that won't be possible, Sarah. John Wick... he's dead. He met a tragic end not long ago.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O., feigning sadness): Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. They were quite close, and I'm sure my brother would have wanted me to speak with him. It's a shame.
WINSTON: Yes, it is. John was a valued associate of ours, and his death was a great loss.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O.): Well, Mr. Winston, I will be arriving early next week to collect my brother's belongings. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person.
WINSTON: I'll make sure everything is prepared for your arrival, Sarah. Once again, my deepest condolences for your loss.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O.): Thank you, Mr. Winston. Take care.
Winston hangs up the phone, his expression contemplative. He takes another sip of his whiskey, mulling over the conversation.
CUT TO BLACK.
INT. LOCAL BAR - NIGHT
Agent Andrews (Jessica Chastain) sits at the dimly lit bar, nursing a drink. The atmosphere is tense, and she keeps scanning the room, trying to remain inconspicuous. Suddenly, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) appears behind her, his presence calm but menacing.
WICK (whispering): I heard from a little bird that you've been looking for me. What do you want?
Startled, Agent Andrews jumps in her seat. She tries to maintain her composure, knowing she needs John's help.
ANDREWS (nervous): John Wick... I've heard stories about you. I didn't think you were still alive.
WICK (impassive): You didn't answer my question.
ANDREWS (swallowing hard): The U.S. Government needs your help, John. The High Table has infiltrated governments in Africa and South America. We've tried everything - military operations, diplomacy - but nothing has worked. We need someone like you. A scalpel when the brute force method doesn't work.
Wick studies Andrews for a moment, gauging her sincerity. His eyes are cold, unyielding.
WICK: Why should I trust you? How do I know you're not working for them?
ANDREWS (pleading): I'm not with the High Table, John. I'm trying to stop them. You're the only one capable of completing this task. You have the skills, the connections, and the motivation to bring them down.
John remains silent for a moment, considering her words. The tension in the air is palpable.
WICK: If I help you, I do this on my terms. No government interference. I work alone.
ANDREWS (relieved): You have my word, John. We just need your expertise. We'll provide you with the resources you need.
Wick finishes his drink and stands up, preparing to leave.
WICK: I'll be in touch. But if you betray me or go back on your word, there will be consequences.
With that, John Wick disappears into the night, leaving Agent Andrews to contemplate the dangerous alliance she has just formed.
CUT TO BLACK.
EXT. JOHN'S HIDEOUT - DAY
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) steps out of his secluded home, noticing a sealed envelope on his porch. He picks it up, examining it carefully before opening it. As he reads, we hear Agent Andrews' (Jessica Chastain) voice narrating the contents.
AGENT ANDREWS (V.O.): Dear John,
I understand the risk you are taking by even considering our request. However, I assure you that the U.S. Government is committed to supporting you in your mission to dismantle the High Table. If you choose to accept our offer, you will have access to all the resources you need, including state-of-the-art weaponry, intelligence, and transportation. Furthermore, we will provide you with any team members you require from our elite fighting forces, even those from our most esoteric units specializing in espionage.
We know that you have attempted to take down the High Table in the past but were met with resistance. With our support, you will have a real chance at success, and together, we can put an end to their reign of terror.
If you have a change of heart and decide to join us, please meet me at the Great Temple in Petra, Jordan. It is a location far removed from the High Table's usual territory, providing us with a safe space to discuss our plans and strategize.
Time is of the essence, John. The High Table's influence continues to grow, and every day they remain in power, countless lives are at risk.
Please consider our offer. We believe that you are our last, best hope.
Sincerely, Agent Sarah Andrews
John finishes reading the letter and looks off into the distance, deep in thought. He knows that this may be his last chance to destroy the High Table once and for all.
CUT TO BLACK.

Intro: M. Kruger was a government agent working on Earth in the movie Elysium. He's an elite shadowy operative working directly for the Secretary of Defense of the space station Elysium. He's the villain of the movie, trying to track down illegal immigrants and the heroic Max DeCosta throughout the film at first under orders then out of personal vendetta. He's probably my favorite Sharto Copley character and he had some fun scifi gadgets, so I thought he deserved some respect!

2023.03.29 02:51 sleeping0dragon Void tRrLM(); //Void Terrarium 2 Review
| https://preview.redd.it/ig10ee0tbkqa1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7bb88658aa5502037d80be8b4680d7990a7a45b KEY NOTES: - Rogue-lite/turn-based gameplay
- No voiced dialogue
- Multiple Endings
- ~30 Hours to clear the game
- Directly follows after the events of the 1st Game
INTRODUCTION Back in 2020, NIS released void tRrLM(); //Void Terrarium (VT1) which didn't seem to sell particularly well. The game remained quite unknown to many people to this day even when compared with other NIS' niche games. Despite that, the game had won the hearts of a small fanbase with its fun rogue-lite combat loop, the charming characters and the surprising emotional story beats. About 3 years later, the sequel finally gets released in the west. For people new to the games, I highly recommend checking out my Review of the first game since it will cover overlapping content that aren't necessarily covered here. Void tRrLM(); //Void Terrarium 2 (VT2) is essentially more of the same from the first game, but with some new gameplay changes. STORY VT2 begins right after the events of the first game and the Terrarium trio has moved to a new location. In addition to adapting to their new home, they also start investigating into Toriko's origins, the last surviving human on the planet. Like the first game, VT2's story is filled with happy and sad moments that did an excellent job of making me interested in seeing where the story was heading to despite not a whole lot actually does happen. Fans of the first game will most likely feel the same level of investment here. What VT2 does different and a bit better is that there is a story direction right at the start. It didn't feel as aimless as seen in the majority of VT1. If you wanted another roller coaster of emotions, then VT2 is the ticket that delivers. I didn't expect to experience the same level of raw emotions as the first game, but the second game had surprisingly exceeded it. CHARACTERS The three returning characters are as lovable as they were in the first game. They haven't really changed much either. Robbie is still the loyal and kind robot. FactoryAI is still the very expressive chatterbox, but her fondness for Toriko may have reached a new level. https://preview.redd.it/ugdn9x40ckqa1.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09f3c3327551c7bb3537bd6c64ca4639f4d8381b As for Toriko, she remains as cute and adorable as ever, but her new animations and interactions have allowed her to seemingly express even more of herself than before. Toriko has picked up a few new tricks ART DIRECTION/GRAPHICS The graphics hasn't changed a whole lot from what I noticed. It is still quite beautiful during the Terrarium scenes. VT1 seems to have more vibrant colors while VT2's colors are "softer" in comparison which I think looks a bit more pleasing to me. The graphics in the dungeons remains pretty mediocre and uninspiring, but they weren't very noticeable as I went through my exploration runs. MUSIC The music style hasn't changed much either. The dungeon music range from upbeat techno music to relaxing atmospheric ones. I think the quality is roughly the same for both games so I still enjoyed the music here. GAMEPLAY At its core, the gameplay loop for VT2 is nearly the same as VT1. Go to the dungeons, reach the end or until you die, collect any blueprints and materials you find along the way, return to the Terrarium hub, feed and interact with Toriko before going back to the dungeons. This is part rogue-lite so your level and skills obtained will reset back to the default each time you die or return to the Terrarium. Items obtained are converted into one of the four main resources in the game which are used to craft things. Resources are noticeably more in abundance this time around even Contaminated ones so you can craft most of the blueprints as you obtain them. The items you do keep are food items, blueprints, and special items needed to craft blueprints. Fortunately, these games aren't too challenging in progressing compared to other rogue games. You can permanently increase your stats by crafting blueprints. All of them except for clothing related ones come with a permanent stat upgrade when crafting it for the first time. It gives you a steady pacing of progression just like a typical JRPG so it's not too demanding or stressful on the player. The core gameplay loop aside, there are some new changes and mechanics. DUNGEONS Dungeons are now connected with each other so instead of picking one dungeon from a list and then going directly to them, you start at the same one in the beginning and then eventually get to branch out at the later ones during the same expedition. It was annoying at first that you have to keep running through the same dungeons just to reach other dungeons, but fortunately, you will eventually get shortcuts that allows you to skip ahead. Although, you might not always want to do that considering your level will always be at one at the start and the tough enemies found in the later dungeons do not scale down to you. New to dungeons are the portals that randomly appears on a floor and will transport you to a random mystery room. The concept is similar to the Mystery Rooms in the Disgaea games, but aren't as varied. Nevertheless, they provide helpful benefits for entering them which includes items and even a bonus temporary skill. Probably most important is the room with the gem trader. One of the few mystery rooms in the game where you can get a free item You can collect gems for completing various tasks. The time allowed for the tasks reset after a set amount of expeditions, but are generally very simple to do. The tasks mostly involve defeating a certain type of enemies x amount of times, use an item x amount of times or just clear a specific dungeon. The gems can be used to trade for special items from the trader. The concept sounds nice in theory, but I found it to be not as good as I'd liked. https://preview.redd.it/4ts5gyovckqa1.jpg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8ca916498d8c9210fc21e6c18bf839cba12670a First, it takes a while to accumulate a decent amount of gems. The reset period is often too long so there is a noticeable gap as to when your supply just stops increasing for a while. The second issue I had was that the gem trader's appearance is too reliant on RNG. It's already random if a mystery room portal would appear, but there's a second level of RNG with its appearance too. If the trader's inventory was just decent and not that important, then I wouldn't be bothered as much. However, the trader has many exclusive robot customization blueprints so being able to get them is key to creating and customizing for fun builds. It will take a really long time to clear out the Gem Trader's inventory Other than the above points, the dungeons and its mechanics remains the same. Dungeon layouts are randomly generated so none of the floors are fixed. In addition to the returning Endless Dungeon where time stops outside and you can go on an infinite dungeon expedition until you die, there's a new optional Danger Zone dungeon. This actually consists of five separate dungeons each with a noticeably higher difficulty. All of them have only 11 layers with the first and last completely voided of enemies. The first layer has four random items to start with. The last has unique blueprints on the first run and the special exclusive Gold materials needed to make them. These blueprints are meant to be made multiple times to essentially power up for the end/post game. Most are stat upgrades, but others provide certain effect upgrades like Critical Chance % Up. Each Danger Zone level is meant to prepare you for the next one considering the high difficulty of each subsequent one. The optional dungeons are great if you want to reach an even higher level of power than before, but it can be a pain to clear. Other than simply power grinding the permanent stats for it which may take a long time, it heavily relies on good RNG to clear them otherwise. The initial items you get are very important to determine how you fare and in many cases, make or break your expedition. TORIKO CARE Other than enemies and the items in the dungeons, you have to pay attention to Toriko's condition while she's left back at the Terrarium. The tamagotchi-like image in the bottom left corner of the screen will reflect her condition. The hearts represents her health gauge which if she loses all of it, will be a Game Over. The Pet Nanny system is available right at the start and allows you to deal with the issues that will routinely arise such as clean the terrarium or play with her. The system is usable anytime during an expedition at the cost of some EN points. A new function allows you to even feed her food that you already have. It does not recover any hearts like when you feed her directly back at the Terrarium, but it will at least stop her hunger momentarily and prevent her from losing any more hearts. Even if you prevent her from losing all of the hearts, if you let her Terrarium continue to pile up the dirt without promptly cleaning it, she may fall ill regardless. The same would happen if she gets bored and you don't play with her. In regards to her illness, many of them return along with some new ones. They range from minor tame ones like Toriko suddenly become pixelated to more disturbing nightmare fueled ones. Treating them is a bit different this time around too. Before, an illness would unlock a temporary new dungeon that has the material needed to treat it. This time, all of the materials needed will be placed in one of the currently available dungeons. Furthermore, the time duration to cure her has been extended for some of the illness. It just took one expedition to normally cure her before, but a few now requires multiple expeditions and it's not because more materials are needed. It's because it just takes several expeditions for Toriko to recover after administering the medication. For some, it can take up to 5 expeditions which can be a hassle. You can't advance the story while Toriko is ill or while she is recovering from an illness. COMBAT The combat itself hasn't changed much. Despite how it may seem, the underlying mechanic for the combat is turn-based. Characters move on an invisible grid and each action takes a turn. If you're standing completely still, then enemies don't attack or move. Any action other than simply changing the direction you are facing counts as a turn. That said, some of the higher tier enemies are allowed multiple actions per turn up to about three. In those cases, those enemies can attack or move more than once before you can take a subsequent action. With these information in mind, you can slowly take your time to calculate your next move and approach accordingly adding a decent layer of strategy to the game. It's worth noting that health will regenerate at a slow pace unless you're poisoned. It is also based on turns so if you stand completely still, your health will not regenerate. Other than attacking with melee, you can throw bombs at enemies. In addition, you can activate gadget items for various effects. Active Skills are high powered attack skills with various effects and can be very strong. The drawbacks to them are the turn cooldown after using them and that they cost EN to use each time. EN is Robbie's endurance gauge which continuously drains as you go through the dungeons. Once it reaches 0, your health regeneration stops and instead, health starts to decrease instead. EN can be recovered using items like Batteries. https://preview.redd.it/ojqnermoekqa1.jpg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e39cc6a89fe5ce37c9a40c9efbe8688cc68b890 One new notable change with the combat mechanics involve the weapons, armors and the Active Skills. With Active Skills before, you have a chance to learn them on level up as a random skill. Now, they aren't included as part of the pool anymore and are instead attached to weapons as a skill there. You can level up weapons with continuous use. Each new level unlocks a passive skill or effect which may include a straight stat boost or a new Active Skill. It was fun to unlock new levels especially since they are permanent upgrades. If you find the weapon type again on a subsequent expedition, the level will be the same as where it left off before giving an additional sense of progression in this game. Armors have their own levels and effects as well The biggest change with the combat comes from the skills you get on leveling up. The skills seems to have been re-balanced with many new ones. The OP builds from the first game don't exist anymore especially with the high criticals and evasion builds based on the mods in your inventory. The evasion skills in general have practically been removed other than maybe one. It took out part of the fun for me, but at least this game gave more varied builds to work with instead. The addition of the different weapon and armor effects also help in creating different builds. ROBOT CUSTOMIZATION While the vast majority of blueprints consists of Terrarium objects, there are some that directly affects the customization and builds you can experiment with. First are the Knacks which are labeled like various job classes (Fighter, Assassin, Berserker, etc..). They affect the type of skills that are more likely to appear on level up. So for Offensive Oriented Knacks like Berserker, more offensive related skills would more likely to appear. You can have up to 3 Knacks equipped to further focus on a combination of skills. You can equip up to four customization parts which have various effects including decrease chance of a specific tier of skills to show up on level up. You can also have three or four skills show up on level up instead of the default 2. Finally, you can also have a chance at picking an additional skill instead of just one for each level up. The last major customization mechanic is the Skill Removal. The general Skill Removal blueprints allows you to outright remove specific skills from even appearing at all thus increasing the chances of obtaining the other skills. The combination of the three major customization functions in addition to the weapon/armomods you can find, all help to create a build you can experiment with for a more varied experience. TERRARIUM Customizing the Terrarium was surprisingly addicting in VT1 and a big component of why I enjoyed these games so it was great to see that it has been improved greatly in VT2. The new Terrarium has a flat ceiling and side which makes it seemingly larger in size than the previous one. This allows you to fit more things inside which will delight people who are fans of the customization. The number of different Terrarium blueprints are quite large which includes many (if not all) of the ones from VT1 and its DLC. The new atmosphere type objects will change the Terrarium BGM NIS took it one step further by adding up to three total Terrariums to use at a time and even allow saving Terrarium settings so you may quickly switch back and forth. The Terrariums aren't connected directly so Toriko won't be able to cross one to another by herself. You would have to manually hold Toriko's hand and walk with her to another one. Fortunately, the distance between each one are noticeably small so it's not a long trip. To my great delight, Toriko will interact with more things now such as picking up a feather duster and dusting some objects. She will even dust Robbie at times. A fun past time that involves Robbie is playing catch with her which has them throwing a ball back and forth between the two. Toriko doing her part to keep the Terrarium clean You can still play hide and seek with her Then there are some subtle actions from Toriko that makes it feel like she is more alive than before. Every now and then, she would just smile and follow you around. When you return from an expedition, she sometimes stands by the edge of the Terrarium and welcome you back with a wave. Interacting and spoiling Toriko had never been more fun. GROWING PLANTS A major new function of the Terrarium now involves growing plants and small trees. You can craft a seed which would quickly grow so that you can eventually harvest them. When you harvest a plant, you get to use it as a Terrarium object, but more importantly, you can obtain various "Cores" which are items needed to craft some blueprints. It is annoying that harvesting a Core is random and not a guarantee. You can also obtain clothing blueprints from harvesting. Fortunately, you get a new seed after harvesting so you don't have to craft new ones unless you want to grow multiple at a time. The growing process is short in steps, but does take a while to complete in-game. It goes through three phases which starts with the planted seed, half grown and then full maturity. It takes one expedition to reach the half grown phase and then another to fully grow it. You have to water it one time each for the first two phases. It's a simple process, but having to go through two expeditions just to reach full maturity for harvest does take longer than I'd liked. Especially considering it's not a guarantee to get a Core from it or a clothing Blueprint. There is an added layer for growing plants that can be tricky at times depending on how many concurrent different plants you are growing together. Each plant requires the Terrarium's temperature and humidity to fall within a certain range for it to actually grow. Temperature and humidity slightly fluctuates after every expedition, but to make significant adjustments to them, you can install electronics like heaters or various Terrarium plants/objects to change the values. If you're growing just one plant or multiple copies of one type of plant, then it's not really an issue dealing with that. But if you're growing different ones together then getting the right amount to overlap can be tricky. Furthermore, extreme temperature and humidity can get Toriko sick if she's inside that specific Terrarium. It's nice to see Toriko helping out, but it does not count as watered if she does it Overall, it's a nice new mechanic to the game even if I had some issues with how they worked. SIDEQUESTS For those that have played VT1, it might be surprising to hear about the existence of sidequests. They do in fact exist in VT2 and they actually make up a large portion of the overall game. The sidequests consists of mostly fetch quests where you have to find certain items in the dungeons and then bringing it back to craft something else. It doesn't sound all that interesting, but you can take care of those along with any story related expedition at the same time so it's not really going out of the way too much. The rewards are more blueprints which are very helpful. Surprisingly, I thought the story related to these quests are quite good. I got emotionally invested in a number of them and despite the large amount of them, they are very well worth completing just to experience that. That said, most of the story isn't directly related to the main story. FINAL REMARKS Overall, VT2 is very much like VT1, but with a bit more content and changes. Fans of VT1 will likely enjoy what VT2 has to offer, but those that were expecting a full blown set of changes and additions to the overall game might be disappointed with it. The story has its relaxing moments, but as expected, some pretty powerful emotional moments as well. The endings had lingered in my mind days after viewing them. The more focused story direction early on is appreciated. I had mixed feelings about the new skills and its rebalance, but trying to experiment with new builds was still an enjoyable process. While VT2 does directly follow right after VT1, you can technically jump straight to VT2 and understand much of it since VT1 wasn't that plot heavy to begin with. That said, I highly recommend starting with the first game to familiarize and appreciate the characters and the world. It makes the events of VT2 much more powerful and meaningful if you do. I sincerely hope that a third game will be developed which will be a Day 1 purchase for me. submitted by sleeping0dragon to u/sleeping0dragon [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 02:51 EmotionalCoffee5402 Did I tip enough ?
Hope it’s ok to ask this here in this group. I went to dinner last night with 5 other people from a small conference we are attending. Self seating on the patio outside. It’s a local place, kind of like an Applebees. We pushed tables together, ordered drinks and apps. The server was already dealing with a large party inside, plus everyone outside. Soon, more people joined us, pushing more tables in. I caught the servers attention and let him know I was covering the entire check for everyone.
The food was great, delivered quickly and accurately. The server was absolutely 100% professional, patient, and helpful.
The total bill came to $662. I usually would tip in cash, but didn’t have enough cash, so I put $125 on the card.
After leaving I started wondering if I tipped enough.

2023.03.29 02:50 Davi0kProgramsThings Is my solution to this puzzle correct? (A King, 1000 Bottles of Wine, 10 Prisoners and a Drop of Poison)
| Today, I ran into the following puzzle: The King of a small country invites 1000 senators to his annual party. As a tradition, each senator brings the King a bottle of wine. Soon after, the Queen discovers that one of the senators is trying to assassinate the King by giving him a bottle of poisoned wine. Unfortunately, they do not know which senator, nor which bottle of wine is poisoned, and the poison is completely indiscernible. However, the King has 10 prisoners he plans to execute. He decides to use them as taste testers to determine which bottle of wine contains the poison. The poison when taken has no effect on the prisoner until exactly 24 hours later when the infected prisoner suddenly dies. The King needs to determine which bottle of wine is poisoned by tomorrow so that the festivities can continue as planned. Hence he only has time for one round of testing. How can the King administer the wine to the prisoners to ensure that 24 hours from now he is guaranteed to have found the poisoned wine bottle? I've been trying to solve this for an hour or so. I think I've found a good solution, but I'm not sure if it's the best, or if it's 100% correct. It may be difficult to explain, but it is actually very simple. I'll try to explain it as clearly as possible: Just a quick premise: for this solution it is convenient to assume that the total number of bottles of wine is 1024 (and not 1000). However, this is not essential in order to find the solution. Let's label the ten prisoners as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The first step is to build a table that has: - as row indexes: all the combinations obtainable by combining the first 5 prisoners (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5);
- as column indices: all the combinations obtainable by combining the last 5 prisoners (6, 7, 8, 9 and 10);
Note: be aware that we are talking about combinations, not permutations (the order of the elements doesn't matter). So sets { 1, 3, 5 } and { 3, 5, 1 } indicate the same combination (but different permutations). Math teaches us that to find the number of possible combinations in a set of n elements we can use the following formula: https://preview.redd.it/zo4h7h35skqa1.png?width=227&format=png&auto=webp&s=c2ecdaf15ff7e9561320efad72bd15a3eb1bc7fd It's easy to find that f(5) = 32. This means, that we have a total of 32 possible combinations to combine the first 5 prisoners, and 32 possible combinations to combine the last 5 prisoners, leading our table to have 32 * 32 = 1024 cells. The row indexes will therefore be: { }, { 1 }, { 2 }, { 3 }, { 4 }, { 5 }, { 1, 2 }, { 1 , 3 }, { 1 , 4 }, { 1 , 5 }, { 2, 3 }, { 2, 4 }, { 2, 5 }, ...; The column indexes will therefore be: { }, { 6 }, { 7 }, { 8 }, { 9 }, { 10 }, { 6, 7 }, { 6 , 8 }, { 6 , 9 }, { 6 , 10 }, { 7, 8 }, { 7, 9 }, { 7, 10 }, ...; Now, let's assign each cell one of the 1024 bottles of wine. In the next step, each prisoner will have to drink from each bottle of wine whose cell is indexed by a combination that contains the prisoner's label. For example, the bottle of wine indexed by { 3, 4 } x { 7, 9, 10 } should be drunk by 3, 4, 7, 9 and 10. The bottle of wine indexed by { 1 } x { 6 } should be drunk by 1 and 6. The bottle of wine indexed by { 1, 3, 5 } x { } should be drunk by 1, 3 and 5. And so on. Note: the bottle whose cell is indexed by { } x { } should not be drunk by anyone. At this point I think it is clear what will happen. Each bottle of wine was drunk by a unique combination of the 10 prisoners, and after 24 hours, by observing the dead prisoners, it will be possible to find the two combinations that will index the cell containing the poisoned bottle of wine. For example, suppose that after 24 hours 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 die, then the cell containing the wine bottle with the poison will be at index { 2, 5 } x { 7, 8, 9 }. Note: if after 24 hours no prisoners are dead, then the wine bottle with the poison must be at index { } x { }. submitted by Davi0kProgramsThings to puzzles [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 02:50 A_Toxic_User I appreciate that John Wick 4 kept the Japan wank to a minimum (John Wick 4 Spoilers)
Spoilers for John Wick Chapter 4.
So the big opening scene of John Wick Chapter 4 feautures a clash between the high table forces led by Chidi and the Osaka Continental guards led by Hiroyuki Sanada's character, Koji. Initially, when they were doing all the glamor shots of the japanese guards getting their Katanas and Bows/Arrows I was setting myself up for a scene where basically the "good" japanese guards completely outclass the western guys with their martial arts and katana skills, and they would only lose to the named characters and due to western guys' strength in numbers. I guess I was worried about this since there is some level of Japan "wank" in western pop culture where stuff like katanas and japanese martial prowess are treated with a level of mystical reverence that elevates them over everything else, which is silly.
Thankfully, that wasn't the case and the fight was actually pretty even. The high table guys were actually fairly competent in doing stuff such as deflecting the arrows with their reinforced suits, and also being able to dodge the japanese guards' katanas and overpower them. We got some really nice mook vs. redshirt moments that are always fun and satisfying, and I am very grateful for the lack of "Katana and japanese martial arts are the BEST THING EVARR" in this movie.

2023.03.29 02:49 StepwiseUndrape574 Latest GTA 6 Rumors Allege Vice City Return But Its Release Date Is Another Question
It seems like we have been hearing rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 since the beginning of time, though in reality, it has only been almost that long. If you were hoping for some clarity with a release finally being around the bend, well, brace yourself—we could be in for several more years of rumors, not just weeks or even months.
Naturally, the folks at Rockstar Games are not offering up any juicy tidbits about the inevitable release. So everything we know, or think we know, has come by way of leaks and rumors. To that end, multiple leakers are reporting that GTA 6 might not come out until 2024 or even sometime 2025. As things stand right now, YouTuber Tom Henderson says the next version of GTA is very early in development.
Henderson notes that, historically, he has not been associated with GTA leaks (he's been more plugged into the Battlefield scene), but the information he shared in a YouTube video is based on what he has heard from multiple sources. He is not the only one that is hearing GTA 6 is still several years away from being released, either.
GTA 6 Tweet
Given the success of GTA Online, it seems Rockstar Games might not be in a rush to push out another major release. At the same time, it's said the developer is focusing "very heavily on employee well being," which in part means avoiding the crunch that precedes a game's release. However, there is at least one other factor at play as well.
It's said GTA 6 will launch on PC and the latest generation game consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). By taking its time in releasing GTA 6, Rockstar Games will have a much wider audience of compatible console owners to drum up sales. And while not mentioned, the same could be true in the PC space, as hopefully discrete GPUs will be plentiful again by the the time GTA 6 arrives.
As for the setting, Henderson says GTA 6 will in fact mark a return to Vice City. Rockstar Games may opt to add more locations to the map over time (post launch), but it looks like a modern take on Vice City is headed to the GTA universe.
Given how much we had playing Grand Theft Auto V when it came to PC several years ago (and still holds up today), we're excited to see what GTA 6 brings to the table, even if it means waiting another 3-4 years.

2023.03.29 02:49 SirCedDiego Tubeless SUCKS! Change my mind.
My experience going tubeless. I bought a factory-new road bike with tubeless tires (700c x28). Beautiful Shimano 105 racing/gravel mutt to make my heart sing. But the tires lost pressure much faster than I was used to, and I needed to pump them up every week. I took a peak inside the tires and discovered there was no sealant. Crap first experience, but I'M AN ENGINEER, this will only take an hour of reading and Youtubing to sort out. Bought some sealant and some new tools, made a mess of the place, and then I COULD NOT get the tire bead seated with a floor pump. WTF? More googling. I used a gas station air compressor to seat and inflate the tires, but thought... What the heck will I do if I get a flat on the side of the road with my mini pump? Reddit says to carry a spare innertube just in case, but it's fiiiine.. You'll probably never get a bad puncture anyway...
6 months later. POW! Side of the road. NO IDEA where the puncture was. Adding air didn't work, so the tire levers came out. Sealant got EVERYWHERE, and it was getting dark so I just installed the tube relying on my old skills. Pumped the tires up and POW! It blew out again?!?! My ears were ringing from the blast. Have you ever taken the bus home covered in grime and sealant while carrying a disassembled bike? Let me tell you. It's... great...
Got home, washed everything. I figured out that the rim tape had blown through one of the spoke nut holes, which was tricky to see because it's a double-wall rim. Youtube "how to replace tubeless rim tape" taught me that you should just hire a professional cause you'll get it kinked the first 5 times. Screw that! I'M AN ENGINEER! I'm not HIRING someone to fix MY bike. Bought a rim strip and an inner tube, but with the added thickness I COULD NOT fit the tire onto the rim. 4 hours, and 5 Youtube videos later, I had two wheels covered in soapy water, cuts on my hands, two broken tire levers, and still had not gotten the wheels onto the rims. I felt like the dumbest moron on the planet.
Went to the store and bought clinchers. The bike was ready to go in 20 minutes. I wanted to upgrade to Continental Grand Prix anyway.
CHANGE MY MIND! TELL ME I'M WRONG. Go on. I dare ya. Tell me that I just had a little bad luck. Because the rim tape on the other wheel blew out the same way a few weeks later. Besides, my clinchers have been great, and I haven't had a single flat. Except that time I rode over a tap. And that time I bottomed out off road. And one time when it just popped for no reason at all...

2023.03.29 02:49 clearedasfiled New host frustrated by Airbnb service animal policy
I have a strict no pet policy. I know we have to accommodate actual service animals. However I just had a guest check out yesterday. She was here for 5 days and brought an unannounced animal. When we questioned her of course she claimed it was a service animal. According to Airbnb policy we are not allowed to even ask for documentation that it’s an actual service animal. This dog was old, big and feeble. It looked like it needed a support animal of its own. Upon checkout there is dog hair everywhere. Floor couches one bed and comforter will need replaced. We even found dog hair in the refrigerator! There was dog pee on the wall outside the house. I plan to file a damage claim. If airlines are allowed to ask for a service animal documentation why can’t we? It seems that all the guest has to do is claim it’s service and we have no recourse whatsoever to challenge. There is no reason for anyone to pay for pet fees with this wide open loophole.

2023.03.29 02:48 Septapus007 School did an unannounced lockdown today, 1 day after Nashville
I work in a PreK through 3rd grade school. Like many of us, I was devastated by the school shooting in Nashville. Right before I left for work, I had the news on and watched video of the gunman shooting through the glass doors to gain entry. Bone chilling to think how ineffective any school safety measures are against a gun of that power.
The age of the victims was particularly disturbing to me in this shooting. Whenever it is elementary age children, there is just an extra level of heartbreak. And all three students who died were 9, the age of my youngest child. As I sat across from him at the breakfast table today, I felt the horror of what it would be like to send him to school and have him never come home again. The news this morning showed footage of some of the parents waiting outside the school to find out if their children had lived. Unimaginable horror.
So my emotions were pretty raw this morning when I went to work. At lunch, there was lots of talk among the staff about the shooting. Our fears. Our plans of what to do should we ever be confronted with a real situation. It was just a very uneasy day.
And then, today, of all days, my school decided to perform an unannounced lockdown. Normally, they announce “This is a drill” before executing a lockdown, but once or twice a year, they call a lockdown without announcing it’s a drill first. Which is always shitty. And always nerve wracking while we crouch in the corner and listen for gunshots.
Today, it was just too much. No announcement that it was a drill. A realistic lockdown without warning. A long one where they went to classrooms and rattled the locked doors pretending they were trying to get in. They actually came to my classroom twice, violently shaking the door each time.
And I sat there on the floor trying to keep my early childhood special ed students quiet while listening for gunshots.
By the time the drill ended, I was so rattled that I couldn’t even teach. Thank god it was close to the end of the day. I just put a video on and tried to pull myself back together.
It just seems so clueless or tactless or cold hearted to do an unannounced lockdown the day after a school shooting. I was sitting there wondering if this was a copycat attack. And I was regretting that my phone was across the room on my desk because I couldn’t check the news or contact my family or call 911 if needed.
And it’s ridiculous that as a preschool teacher that these are the things that I have to worry about when I go to work. I’m just so mad and upset and tired of the whole thing. And I want to go find my principal and scream “What the fuck is wrong with you?” for pulling this shit on us today of all days.

2023.03.29 02:47 adamboyd73 Wanting my BPD ex wife back
Hello everyone , I want to put something out there for my fellow redditors to provide insight.
I’m about to sign my divorce papers on Monday. Which means our marriage is legally over. In the past 18 months, she went from idealizing me to discard; slept on the couch for the last year and moved out in December. Since then we have had low contact, where she has expressed anger (upset at situation) that we couldn’t get to the place we needed. Her words.
I’ve decided that I love her warts and all, I would have never left the marriage. I was ok with everything but her putting her trauma pain on me.
It seems since she moved out she is either realizing it wasn’t all me , or she fucked her life monetarily, or time effort support with her kids . Who knows
So I’m sitting here on vacation and thinking I want her back. The devil you know better than the devil you don’t. I also know that she wasn’t necessarily real.
So now that she is currently talking to me, mostly surface sometimes reflective.
So my quandary is now what. I’m actually thinking about a time table to see some forward progress. I could always love her from a far and disengage.
But I want her back
I’d love some feedback

2023.03.29 02:47 Jemjnz My plan to balance Bladesingers
The Bladesinger wizard subclass has the full utility and power of a wizard, with additional relevant defensive and offensive capabilities. The subclass features greatly outstrip other wizard subclasses with significant features like multi attack, and substantial buff to AC and concentration checks. To accommodate the disproportionately powerful subclass needed to enable the Gish play style from the wizard class, the general wizard spell casting need to have some downside imposed. I have a proposal I’d like feedback on to address this.
Before I dive in too deep, I would like to highlight the differences between the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide and the Tasha’s Cauldren of Everything’s printings of the blade singer.
- Tasha’s has bladesinging refresh Prof/Long rest and at level six enables 1 attack to be replaced with a cantrip.
- Sword Coast has bladesinging refresh Twice/Short Rest, and no cantrip interweaving.
To fully embrace the fish play style and theming, Tasha’s spell weaving is a great feature that really feels like the magical warrior we want to be. I will be including this in my version of the blade singer.
How often should bladesinging refresh? To embrace the melee style with the low hp the AC buff is pretty helpful with not immediately dying and is pretty central to the concept of being a magical fighter. (Like an eldritch knight but less ehh and more elegant). Similar to a barbarian rage, the characters can feel a little empty without this holding them together, so I think keeping in line with Sword Coast of 2/Short Rest means that they will be able to embrace the singing aspect of their character.
This is all sounding pretty cool and needs something to hold it back when compared to other wizards who often multi class to try and up their AC. I propose that blade singers can only cast non-ritual spells when in a blade song. Why? - This is a tangible downside when comparing them against other wizards - This does not prevent them from accessing high levels spells that makes wizards interesting - This is a relatively simple change without expansive amounts of texts. - Bladesingers are combatants by flavour, having their mechanics reflect this feels appropriate, as both books state “a blade singer uses a series of intricate, elegant maneuvers that fend off harm and allow the blade singer to channel magic” - Songs refreshing on a short rest means that the wizard isn’t overtly restricted in how often the can cast spells but does limit them to bursts of action - echoing the feast/famine style of play depending on if the wizard is using spell slots or cantriping. - This doesn’t entirely restrict out of combat casting by enabling the useful rituals such as Alarm and Detect Magic that often serve the whole party - When in minor combats and wanting to conserve songs/slots you can still multiattack with a weapon and cantrip which provides more choices and damage when compared to other wizards conserving slots. - Once you hit tenth level you can spend your spell slots to reduce incoming damage regardless of if you are in a Song or not.
I know most people don’t like to nerf things, but the bladesinger as is feels too domineering in both the martial and arcane side of things for my taste who normally sees wizards as glass cannons. Fragile, but explosive. I want this class to be played as a spellblade, not just a wizard who has stupid high AC/concentration checks when they want to cast important concentration spells.
I haven’t had much table experience with them but they seem comparable to Martials offensively (though not outstripping too significantly) and better AC till plate is on the table. So while they may not have the health to keep it up for long but full wizard spellcasting on the side seems pretty worth it.
What are your thoughts? What things haven’t I considered?

2023.03.29 02:45 Voves I just moved into my first studio apartment, and only own this burnt orange Laz E Boy, what other color furniture do I get?
| Currently got this bad boy pointed directly in front of the tv that’s on the ground, dudes really live like this. I’m looking to purchase a loveseat, coffee table, tv stand, potentially a rug (I was gifted one, it’s close to the color of the walls with some darker texture, but it might be too small so I’m not stuck on it). The other side of my studio is my bed which has a light grey/blue duvet on it. I really don’t know what colors go together in a living space and would love some advice on how to leave this chair as a fun pop of color! submitted by Voves to malelivingspace [link] [comments] |
