Dragons of Fireborne is a book I have recently finished and I'm working on getting it published... So here's a snipit of the book, tell me what you think!!
-Warning, there is brief innuendo in the story!!
They were nearing the camp when a bell sounded. A group of Hunters fled out and stood guard at the entrance, out came a large burly man on a Death Eater. He rode up to them. He had a blade for a hand. It was Shack-RA. He trodded up to Draco and the others. "Well, if it isn't my Queen!" He said mockingly. "And what do I owe the pleasure?" Draco stepped forward. "We just simply need to pass through the valley to enter the Border city..." She told him. Shack-RA jumped to the ground. "Your kind is not welcome here!" He said. Dagon inched forward. "He's right..." He said quietly. "Listen to the plucky bastard! LEAVE!!" Shack-RA shouted. Dagon gained composure. "Don't call me plucky!" He said. "I don't even know what that means..." He said quietly. "Let us pass through and we'll give you some food and drink," Draco said. Shack-RA stalked around his beast. "We do not need your poison!" He said angrily. "We do not need your filth OR your wealth!!" Draco stepped forward. "Then just let us simply pass through," She said calmly. "Why don't you go around the valley?" Shack-RA asked. "It will take several days longer" Draco replied. "We need to get these supplies to White Willow..." Shack-RA looked surprised and stepped forward from his drake. "I didn't know you two were friends..." He said slyly. Draco stood straight. "We aren't, they just need our help..." She said calmly. "Give to those who ask and to those who take-" "Quiet Quim!" Shack-RA interrupted. He walked closer to her until he was right in her face. "You best leave now, because my pets get VERY hungry, and they haven't had breakfast yet..." He threatened. The two biggest Death Eaters stood on either side of him. They peered down at Draco and the others. "Your beasts do not scare me, boy," Draco said. "A little..." Dagon said quietly behind Keith. Shack-RA pointed his bladed arm at Draco. "YOU CALL ME BOOOYYY!!!!!????" He yelled. "YOU WILL SEE WHO TRULY IS MORE POWERFUL!!!" Draco stared down his blade calmly. "You do not scare me," She said quietly. Shack-RA took a few steps back. "I bring fear into the hearts of man!!" He shouted. "I am not a man..." Draco replied calmly. Shack-RA roared. "YOU MAY BE QUEEN BUT I AM GOD OF THIS VALLEY!!!!" He shouted louder. Draco narrowed her eyes sternly. "You are no God, you're a parasite..." She said. Shack-RA glared at her. "My Hunters will eat you alive!!" He said. Draco kept her composure. "You will kill no one today, or ever again," She told him. Shack-RA snarled. "Perhaps if I introduce you to my Eaters you'll beg for my mercy!" He threatened. Keith unsheathed his sword. "HOW DARE YOU THREATEN YOUR QUEEN!!" He shouted. Shack-RA looked at Keith. "It is not a threat, just an apprise..." He said. "My Eaters just eat people because they smell fear..." The Eaters took a step closer and stared at Draco. Draco looked back at them then returned her gaze at Shack-RA. "You do not scare me..." She said. Shack-RA chuckled. "Of course, I scare you, why else would my Eaters want your flesh?" He said.
Draco looked at him unhindered. "You-do-not-scare-me..." She said. "Then why bring your army?" He asked her. "To protect those I can not..." She replied Shack-RA scoffed. "Your army is pitiful and not with power!" He said. "You see my army?" "THAT'S an army!" Draco looked at the army. "Yes, I guess it is..." She said. Shack-RA looked back at her. "What power do you have that can stop them?" He asked. Draco gazed at them. "I have a power that's far stronger than any man..." She said. Shack-RA snorted. "You have no power here!" Draco looked at him. "Maybe... But he does..." She clapped her staff on the ground. A dark shadow loomed over her. Shack-RA looked up at the clouds but saw nothing. A low distant bellow sounded through the air. He looked at the camp as a large 20-foot dragon swooped down and blew a pillar of fire at the camp burning it to the ground. "Nothing is hotter than dragon fire," Draco said as Shack-RA looked in shock. The dragon pitched upwards back to the sky and turned back to the camp. The dragon blew another pillar of fire at it finishing it off. Shack-RA turned to Draco in anger. "SWINE!!!" He shouted. "You will now feel death!!" "I am not afraid..." Draco said calmly. Shack-RA chuckled. "If you are not afraid, then what are THEY doing here?" He said pointing to the Death Eaters. Draco shrugged. "I am not afraid of them..." "Perhaps it's your fear they smell..." She said. They were staring at him. "You can tell a lot about someone's biggest fear by what weapon they choose..." She continued. Shack-RA looked at the drakes. "You... Fear death..." Draco finished. He jumped back and attempted to run, but one of the drakes pushed him down with its snout. Shack-RA started crawling away, but the other drake grabbed his leg with its mouth and then bit down crushing his bones. Shack-RA howled in pain. He turned to look at them as the drakes stepped toward him He raised his hands and screamed. The first drake bit down around his upper body and lifted him up, and the other drake bit down on his lower half as he screamed. The drake pulled him in half he continued his blood-curdling scream, then the drake with his upper half crunched his body between its jaws and it fell silent. The drakes crunched on his corpse and ate him up. Dagon looked in disgust and gagged. Draco stared sternly, ensuring he was dead. The drakes lapped his blood up off the snowy rocks and then licked their mouth. The drakes turned to Draco and stepped forward. Draco stared at them sternly. The drakes sniffed her for a moment and growled. Draco stepped forward and unlatched the collars off their necks. The drakes sniffed the collars and looked at Draco. They bellowed and ran off. They stared as the drakes disappeared in the distance. Draco calmly turned toward the group and saw them staring. "What?" She asked. Keith stared at her. "You just released those beasts into the wild..." He said. Draco stepped forward. "Yes, yes I did..." She said. Keith was confused. "But why?" He asked. "Because they're better in the wild than with murderous Hunters..." She said.

-Players will have one teleportation spot set up for them that will connect to the central hub
-If requested, we will change the location for your spot up to three times (starter base, official base, maybe you change your mind and want a new official base) but your new spot will replace your old one
We realize this last one may not be appealing to some players so we wish to be upfront about it. Something we’ve noticed in the past is that some players like to go very far away to build their bases, which is great (exploration/mega builds), but sometimes lengthy Nether travel or flying can still discourage engagement with other players. We’re hoping that in having a hub that links all the bases for easy and quick transport, we can support trade, collaboration, and a flourishing shopping district.
Mini-games are also encouraged if anyone wishes to create and build any :) We will likely build some of our own in time as well.

I still remembered that day, when I happened upon the ring.
Most people, when they think of genies, they think of a magic lamp, one that must be rubbed to summon them. In the original story of Aladdin, he had been given a magic ring, which summoned a lesser Jinn than the one that came from the lamp.
None of this was on my mind, of course, when I rubbed the ring. I just liked the texture of it, and was shocked when it appeared.
"After countless years, I am freed from that prison." It was neither male, nor female, yet it looked very similar to what I expected. The Jinn bowed his head to me. "I am a Jinn of that ring, once willingly bound in service to a great and magnanimous magician, now freed once more. Your wish is my command."
Of course, I was a little excited, but I needed to know what I was dealing with, so I had asked, "What are the limitations of my wishes?"
It smiled. "A wise question, Master. I am capable of granting any wish, however, you would need a Jinn of a lamp to undo the wishes I grant. Where they would give only three, in contract, I shall grant you all that you desire, with the understanding I cannot know precisely your intentions."
"If I say a wish out loud, will it always happen, or is my intent required?"
"I must interpret all wishes as being intentional." He answered. "Though, I must abstain from any wish that would deliberately cause harm."
"Very well. I wish to have the wisdom to anticipate how my wishes may end up."
He bowed, and I was given that wisdom.
The wishes I made were largely to make my life better, to pull me out of the rough situation I was in. I didn't wish for wealth or beauty, such things were greedy and vain, and I would only suffer for it in the long run, when the Jinn would feel the corruption of my heart, and refuse to serve me.
I instead made wishes that made situations more favorable for me in terms of working toward what I wanted. I wished to know how to take care of my skin such that I no longer suffered from dry skin, and was granted that knowledge. I wished that my father would get a raise for his hard work, and he came home happier than I'd seen him in years.
Making other people happier was worth more to me than any selfish wishes- though, I did certainly allow myself some benefit, something that could help me with a problem.
Yet, as time went on, I noticed the Jinn would often look away, their eyes sadly cast toward the horizon.
"Jinn." I said.
"Yes, master?"
"If you could wish for anything, what would it be?" I asked.
They were surprised, "Master, I could never-!"
"You have made my life bearable." I said. "My family is no longer in dire straits, my neighbors are all happy with their lives, and I'm the healthiest I've ever been. So ask anything, I promise to make it a wish."
"If it is your wish, Master." He said.
"It is."
"I wish I could be free, to return to my home." They said.
"I wish the wish you uttered came true."
They gave off such a beautifully serene smile, the golden wristbands that had adorned their arms simply snapped open, falling to the ground, and then they were gone.
I still kept those arm bands, as a reminder, along with the ring, which no longer functioned as it had. That was five years ago. I go to college, carrying those treasures with me, keeping them safe. I polish them, keeping them clean, the metal always warm to the touch, pleasant.
On occasion, I wondered about what they felt like, when worn, why they had removed themselves from the Jinn.
One day, I took them out, and took off my ring. I had this thought that, perhaps, the wristbands would give me the same power as the Jinn, so I placed my left arm in one half of a wristband and slid it shut, then the other.
I gasped as they shrunk, wrapping firmly, yet pleasantly around my wrists. I admired them, feeling that I was finally complete. I admired the smooth polish, running my fingers along them, but I was a little disappointed that I didn't gain any phenomenal cosmic power.
I reached over to my Master's ring, but felt a jolt as my fingers neared it.
Oh.
Oh no.
I had placed my Master's ring very deliberately, so that it could be found, and now, any effort I made to move it was met with a backlash. That was when my roommate came in.
"Whoa, cool armbands." He said.
I felt compelled to tell him, "Please, put the ring on."
"Why?" He asked.
I told him the story. At first, he was skeptical, but when I showed him I couldn't touch my Master's ring, he believed me.
"So, anyone who wears this ring becomes your master." He said.
"Please." I begged, so he picked it up and put it on. I felt such relief that I thanked him profusely. "Now that you are my Master, I am bound to serve your will, do to as you wish to the best of my ability."
I saw the look in his eye, the one that told him to milk this for what it was worth, but he shook his head. "Alright, I'm sorry, but this place is a pigsty. Help me clean up."
The joy of following his command compelled me to clean the place from top to bottom. Upon finishing, I felt utter euphoria.
"Please, Master. Do not hesitate to use me."
"Alright, let's try this. You are free now."
The wristbands opened and fell from my arms. I picked them up and said, "Thanks."
"Sorry for using you." He said. "But this place really needed cleaned."
He gave me the ring back, and beyond that brush with the supernatural, he never questioned it, beyond wondering what else was real. I didn't throw away the wristbands or try to have them destroyed. Before, it was because they were a dear treasure. Now, it was because they were mine.
I felt a deep desire to wear them again, but wearing the ring, prevented the wristbands from locking. When I finished college, I knew I couldn't pursue the career I had wanted anymore, I had planted something inside of me that yearned to serve, so I switched gears, training to become a valet, honing the perfect skills to serve anyone who needed it.
I didn't even ask for money, only room and board. I had abandoned my prior life, permanently changed the course of my existence, and the only way I could be happier was if I was wearing those wristbands.
So I found someone who liked being called Master, someone I knew who would appreciate my service. I told him my story, showed him the armbands, and told him, "When these are on, I will become completely dedicated to you. If you cannot live with this, then simply free me, and I will search for a new master."
He consented, I put on the arm bands underneath my uniform, and showed him that what I said was true. When Master put his ring on, I felt relieved. Master never took off the ring, never gave me orders he felt were bad. He even told me he only kept me because he was terrified of what would happen to me if someone unscrupulous found me first.
I didn't regret my decisions, but I was certain if I had known what would have come of me, I would have never put them on. Or maybe I would have regardless.

it really does seem that way. i know that's how most games in the rpg and Arpg genre are, but i'm just making sure i'm not going crazier than i already am.

Hey all. I stream straight from twitch and am having difficulty setting up the audio. My voice is captured but the in game voice chat is not. I know that when your in a party you need to have it toggled on which I have but since I am not in a party I don’t think it matters. Weird question, does anyone else physically feel ill when they see anything remotely sexual in movies and shows or when touchy gestures are made? Currently working on a musical production of Anything Goes and I can’t get through a full run without gagging and feeling disgusted. It doesn’t make it better that the actors are my friends. They get all touchy and then flirt and all that.
Anyone have any tips on how to handle it? I’ve got like one more week of this production and I’ll be done but I don’t know if I can watch it any more. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Short version: I don't know which things my body does are regular autistic things like ticks or shutdowns and which are not. My brother is diagnosed with epilepsy and a post on healthilne says that 20-30% of autistic people have a comorbid epilepsy. So I'd like to ask people here who also have epilepsy to share your experiences and how do you differentiate between autistic bodily reactions and epileptic (mini-)seizures
Long version: Since late January this year my body is doing weird things. These are: - jerking movements/tremors with my hands/arms/legs/facial muscles - non-controllable high amplitude repetitive motions with my arms/legs/head - sudden contractions of muscles (like suddenly my abdomen or back can get really tense) - suddenly losing control over my body and just collapsing onto the ground, not being able to move for up to a couple of minutes - suddenly feeling like I'm falling, but while I am sitting on a chair - suddenly having a huge energy drop and/or losing some control over muscles and/or going semi-verbal
Taking this into account as well as the fact that my brother has a diagnosed epilepsy, I went through a diagnostic process for epilepsy
My general body things and a head MRI were okay. Two short-term EEGs (where they blast you with flashing lights and/or sounds for 10-30m) caused jerking movements in my arms, legs, and facial muscles, but no spontaneous synchronous brain activity was detected (I am hypersensitive to light and sound). I didn't yet have the chance to go through an overnight EEG (my brother's epilepsy was only detected during one of these. Also, if I remember correctly, ≈60% of people with epilepsy experience most of their seizures at night)
A neurologist told me these weird things my body does can't possibly be epilepsy (which kinda contradicts what I've read online, but okay). They diagnosed me with PNES (Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures) and told me to go find a psychiatrist
Fortunately, around that time I accidentally discovered I am autistic. I started unmasking at home (although truth be told, I was going through a burnout severe enough that my mask was falling off all on its own), re-learned stimming, secured some quieter places at home. Slowly, my symptoms had gotten better
Then I received an autism diagnosis. Revisited the subject of overload/meltdown/shutdown. Decided that if me suddenly collapsing onto the ground is not an anti-tonic seizure, then it's probably a shutdown. If my body's jerking movements are not a focal seizure, they must be autistic ticks. And for a moment, the world made sense
But I still collapse almost every day. As I lie in bed and try to relax, my body often starts jerking around in far from pleasant ways. July-August 1519
Following the annexation of a sizable amount of eastern territory, a (first?) number of proclamations were made.
I. Serfdom shall be abolished. No man shall be unduly forced to live and work upon someone else's land. Though Swedish laws regarding vagrancy will of course be applied when needed.
II. All laws of Sweden shall be applied in full. One of the more notable changes is that daughters now inherit from their parents, half as much as sons do. Except in cities where their share is equal to male inheritors, though there are no legally recognized cities in the newly acquired land.
III. The peasantry's heresy is guided by their nobles and clergy, but these latter groups, and the burghers, are far more worldly and educated. So while we will give the peasants time and guidance to recognize their folly, repent, and embrace the true church, the nobility, clergy, and burghers will be given no leniency. We offer them a simple offer, if they convert immediately and swear fealty to the Crown of Sweden, we will recognize there rights as much as we can. With exceptions, as trade privileges for burghers in Sweden may differ from what they were in Muscovy, and obviously a former Orthodox priest cannot simply become a Catholic priest.
If they refuse, their lands will be stripped of them. If they nonetheless swear fealty while refusing to convert, we will offer them recompense enough to seek out a new living (1/4th of the holding's normal value to buy). If they refuse to accept the church and the crown, they must leave our lands.

IV. All former Orthodox churches will be repurposed into Catholic churches, so long as they are suitable.
V. Though we have abolished serfdom, the King is concerned about these eastern lands growing even more unpopulated if peasants try to flee west. We do not know the chances of our worries coming true, but we cannot risk it. So Orthodox peasants are legally bound to travel no further west than than the City of Vyborg. And converted Catholic peasants can only travel further west than Vyborg with written cert from a guild, noble, priest, merchant, etc. establishing their cause to travel and proof that there will be work for them at their destination.
VI. We do not know how many landowners and other influential figures will take up our offer to convert and remain loyal, so we must prepare to replace these positions in local society. Given that Sweden and Finland are so sparsely populated, we also cannot rely on just moving nobles around. If we could even find many volunteers to move to the far east. Though part of our offer will be to any larger noble families in Sweden and Finland, that if a son voluntarily agrees to give up his share of the existing family inheritance, he may create a branch of his family and be granted land in the east.
Though as stated, we do not imagine this will yield enough new nobles. Luckily, the Swedish Crown has a history of frequent ennoblement. Especially in Finland, when in decades past we were constantly in conflict and the stock of existing noble houses could decline rapidly. In fact, there are recorded time when Finland had dozens or hundreds more nobles than Sweden because of so many ennoblements being carried out and these men surprisingly ending up living full lives and siring many descendants.
With Sweden having fought six wars since 1495, there should be a number of veterans of these wars who proven their service to us and can be ennobled. Most prominent among this cohort is Nils Johannesson, a prominent mercenary captain who has even served as a general in the past. He shall be made a bailiff of one of the eastern castles we seized.
VII. The lands in the region suffered from the war, so we will fund the reconstruction of all buildings and rehabilitation of all impacted farmlands. The castle at Staraya Ladoga, damaged during the war, should be promptly repaired as well if it has not already.

All year I've been reminded that I'm replaceable and unwanted.
Before the end of last year, I got betrayed by someone i thought was gonna be my ride or die. He had confidently said he will support me in a school election where we need to have a partner as he knew I could not find anyone. I trusted implicitedly after questioning him to the point of slight irritation. He then ditched me suddenly for a better position close to voting week. He cited a reason being we're both too hard headed because we argued over sending our images as part of introductory messages to the members during the elections. He didnt want to send picutres, but to me its ridiculous cos i have never seen people running for elections tryung to hide their faces. Even then I seeked for a compromise to send a picture of us together instead of individual ones. After the betrayal, he did not even apologise, but tried to explain how its not the rivals fault (because he was friends with the rival and he thought I believed that the rival tried to set me up, a conclusion that I never came to my mind) and made excuses for himself. It felt like he was protecting thebother friend more than me as he clarified that the rival was not involved instead of just apologising. I was mad that he took away my options for partners by being so confident, then taking them away again by selfishly dropping out when I relied on him the most. He received no backlash throughout as all our mutual friends thought I kicked him out instead (making me the villian). He then tried to find a replacemebt, but when I contacted the replacement, he was turned down the offer after being on the fence. Essentially, the replacement was just his escape route. This year, he hangs with new friends instead, only coming to me if he has no one with him, while making no effort to regain my trust.
At the start of this year I held a deputy role for someone in an organisation. I was promised an equal partnership so I placed a lot of faith in him, but I soon realised he tends to tank a lot of the work himself. Initially, he joked that we do not work well together, before fully using it as his reason for leaving me out of meetings, discussions and decision making for the rest of the year. The shift started after I made the mistake of giving my opinion the one time he did not ask for it when he did not ask, in a conversation thread where he asked for my opinions twice directly before. I declined to give my opinions after the event to avoid worsening the situation before we talked things out. However, I've been rejected a few times after initiating. Throughout the rest of the year he kept coming up with reasons why I wasnt adequate e.g. "I feel uncomfortable joking with you", "I feel you're too controlling" etc. I kept stepping back after each feedback e.g. stop making jokes, stop giving my opinions, to avoid detoriating the relationship further. However, his image of me did not change. He moved on to more excuses, inviting his significant other to discuss work stuff instead of me, leaving me out of discussions only to update me after, asking me for any suggestions only to then fiercely defending his ideas (basically asking me for suggestions is just for show). Things come to a boiling point when he threatened to leave after I initiated a talk a third time. His reasoning was because I invited the organisation head as the moderator and he felt he would be interrogated by us. After that, he fully discussed work plans with his friends instead of me, suggesting we split projects to avoid discussing altogether, and finally dropping the bombshell which is that he feels uncomfortable discussing with me and only me while he is fine with everyone else. This impacted my self esteemed a little because it felt like i was the problem, although logically I have been making all concessions to him. This also made me unable to function as the department's second in charge, because all projects go to him as the head and I cant do anything without him delegating things to me via discussions. The wording is another issue as it implies sexual harrassment especially in this social climate.
After fully isolating me, he went on to be praised as the organisation's best member, the team cannot live without him etc. It felt like he sacrificed me to make it look lile he contributed the most. It really stung when he got close to my friends after he threatened me and my friends know about the event too. Remember the first guy? Yup, he is now the closest person to him. Can you believe it?
Towards the end of the year I tried to put our differences aside and help my dept organise a birthday party for him in secret while he wanted me to write thank you cards to the dept. As I needed more time since im focused on organising his birthday party, I asked if there are other dates we can give the farewell cards. He just casually suggested we split our gifts even though we are partners on paper. It felt like a slap to the face, especially after a year of implying he wanted his friends instead of me and constantly keeping me out of the loop for projects. I started to wonder why am I doing his bday party.
How do I move on from such people? Am I the problem here?

I have a client who did a job for a government agency. He didn't realize he needed certified payroll reports and is asking us to help for reports dating back to February.
We have the prevailing wage information by pay period so we know how many hours total the employees spent on the project, but I do not believe he has the daily breakdown of employee's hours. Would he run into any issues just spreading out the hours evenly throughout the week?
Again, we know the total hours are correct. The issue is the daily breakout of those hours.
