For the best performance from your mesh router, you'll want to prioritize getting one with support for Wi-Fi 6, plus a tri-band design that includes three separate bands of traffic: the usual 2.4 and 5GHz bands, plus an additional 5GHz band that the system can use as a dedicated wireless backhaul for transmissions between the router and its satellites. I have a few related questions.
We have a set of acacia patio furniture we've had for about 5 years. We really like it and every year we clean it and retreat it as necessary. This spring for whatever reason the finish really fell apart, mostly in areas we hadn't treated before, and there's green spots all over it, like a kid took a green marker and just put little marks all over it.
If I use some kind of algae and mildew deck cleaner on it will that be good enough to restore it, or is it kind of done for?
Is this the fate of all outdoor wood furniture? Is teak or eucalyptus any more durable in a cold climate?
We've gone through a few sets of furniture, acacia and eucalyptus, and it seems like they only last 5-10 years before they become unrecoverable. We didn't have this issue with our eucalyptus furniture but that wasn't totally outside, it was in a 3-season porch.
We're trying to decide whether to try to refinish this set, or get a new set, maybe in teak, or get a plastic set that's more expensive but presumably more durable and on sale now.

My work truck has a 30 gal tank and takes forever to fill up, I also gas up a lot so spend a fair amount of time at gas stations. The amount of people I see that use a pump as a parking spot and never get gas is nuts and also infuriating when it means like 3 out of the 6 pumps are being used as parking spots. It is also usually accompanied by the fact that there’s several spots open in front of the store that are intended for what people are using them for.

Work and worker have gradually taken on the onus of negativity. Working is not really a virtue anymore. It also sounds too much like a low level person in a business. They need a new name for it.
Instead of being called to be a temple worker, people will now be called to a temple mission. This goes along with their efforts to rope in the 50+ year olds to go on missions. The mini missions of four to eight hours a week could easily go to calling people to be temple workers.
It is becoming hard to call people to be temple workers. The demand for temple workers is sky rocketing with the over proliferation of temples, especially in Utah. Outside of Utah, most temples are suffering from a temple worker shortage.
People have a harder time turning down a mission than they do to having a calling to the temple. Many people will be called to go on temple missions as a result of the new emphasis on missions for those over fifty.
They already have temple missions for retired people who work at the temple everyday and those will continue. This will be separate from that, but use the same name. You have been called to go on a temple mission. I volunteer to go on a temple mission. At first, they will get extra people to go to the temple. The reduced need for workers because for the recent changes in the temple ceremony will mean they might be able to meet their needs for temple workers this way.
Temple missions will also change the way going to the temple works. A current problem in many temples is that there are too few people in a session. One of the new positions in a temple mission will be those who sit in the audience. They will call people to go through the sessions or at least have that be one of the stations you can be at as a temple worker. Now, there will be enough people for each session. This will be a boon to the smaller temples that are only open a couple of days a week. They can now make sure the temples are operating more efficiently.
Those who just attend the temple will now be ministering at the temple instead of going to the temple. It will sound more holy and amazing.
Going to the temple will still be emphasized for all those with temple recommends. There is a lot of evidence that they are trying to get everyone in the temple as soon as they are out of high school.
The pre mission age will be called to mini missions to the temple. They will go as people in the audience. This will help them adjust to the idea of going on a mission. It could start as early as 18 while they are still in high school. It would transition them into the idea of missions early. It would transition them to understanding that they will be on multiple missions their whole life.
For the returned missionaries, it will make sense to call them to temple missions. So many flounder (and go inactive) when they return from a mission. When they get home, they will be called on mini missions to the temple to remind them of what they need to be doing. Four hours a week in the temple to become closer to Christ.
They might think that is a way to stop the hemorrhaging of returned missionaries leaving the church. They need a calling, no a continuing mission. And they will extend the new mission as soon as they get home. They will eventually say that it will be expected upon their return before they even go on a mission. You will go on a temple mission as soon as you return home. They might even say that to all those who are returning home early.
Today, it is amazing that they would dare tell the fifty year olds that they need to do missions. In fifty years, most members will have gone on several missions by fifty, mostly mini missions like temple missions. It will be a different church fifty years from now.
It sounds like they are going to try to get all the retired to go on at least two missions after they retire. A temple mission at fifty is a good way to introduce them to the concept of multiple missions after retirement.
As they roll out this new initiative, tithing will increase as they call those who normally would be overlooked for something like this. It is a way to increase the number of people who are paying tithing.
It might be a way to increase the burnout rate. To be in the church, you have to be all the way in.

Why is there so many closet haters and racist in this profession? I work a lot of OT at different stations in my department and it seems like every other shift there is at least 1 guy that is seriously just a piece of crap. Usually older dudes that have been on for a while. Coming from the military where we actually cared about each other, this job is honestly not what I thought it would be.
I’ll start with the hater aspect. Seems like for a profession that preaches brotherhood, there is sure a lot of people willing to talk shit behind each others back. I keep to myself and don’t get too personal with many for that reason. They’re very willing to put a front on when an individual is there , as soon as they leave it’s constant shit talking.
The racism part is surprising. Hearing older white dudes talk about undocumented people, African Americans , homelessness and women like they’re all trash. I didn’t have the privilege of really thinking about firefighting as a career choice. When you grow up with undocumented parents you don’t consider being a firefighter sometimes. It’s sort of like being a police officer. Nothing against them it’s just not something I was raised with.
So, I am still kind of new to the job, but why are these dudes in a job that requires community service when all they care about is themselves? So far have heard multiple guys joke around about using the N word and how it used to be ok to “Joke” around like that and now everyone is sensitive. Bro, that has never been cool or funny. Have heard a certain leader talk crap about a woman that was beat on a domestic violence medical. Have heard a certain firefighter say they should take all the homeless out to the field and shoot ‘em. It’s crazy to see the amount of public servants that only care about themselves. God forbid there be a different perspective because if you have one you will be labeled as being a weak ass liberal.

Social services won’t help me or make up excuses it’s been going on for 2 years
My condition prevents me from driving I live in the country side with my parents with no bus stations and muddy roads not a good place for a wheelchair because of this I’ve been stuck indoors for 2 years no social life
All I need is a carer too take my parents place help me get out and about go too hospitals
But they won’t help I can’t work either even if I did I wouldn’t be able too drive there and running a business is way too hard for me. So I guess I’m stuck isolated like this any ideas?

As title states I'm looking to do hair transplant I did have chemotherapy done back in 2014 for testicular cancer stage 3. It's been about 9 years now in remission. Noticed over time now that my hair has started to lose the hairline badly as well as balding in the centeback top. Hey everyone! NE Florida (Jax) area homeowner. I’ve got a Zoysia lawn, and after a really decent year last year, after a fairly mild winter, our grass is not looking so hot. Looking for ideas, as most if not all of the lawn care companies seem to be giving us the sales pitch and runaround. There does seem to be a layer of maybe previously mulched grass under the main layer of leaves. We just did a clean 2” cut with a mower with brand new blades. Grass is looking dead or patched in multiple spots. A few of the photos are from sod laid in November. Any ideas of how to combat what we have going on? Available for $100 (or less if you catch a sale), the TP-Link Archer AX21 is an entry-level, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router that supports top speeds of up to 1,201Mbps (1.2Gbps) on its 5GHz band. It's nothing fancy, but it offered near flawless performance for small- to medium-size homes in our tests, and it's a cinch to setup and use thanks to TP-Link's Tether app.

Best of all, when tested against other, similar routers from names like Asus and Netgear, the AX21 held its own with faster download speeds, better range, and low latency, too. Add in a functional bandsteering mode that automatically steers you between the 2.4 and 5GHz bands within a single network, plus guest network controls and even a quality of service engine for prioritizing traffic to the most important devices on your network, and you're looking at a decent home networking upgrade that's as simple and affordable as it gets. It isn't powerful enough to max out speeds on a gigabit network, but it can still hit consistent close-range speeds near 700Mbps or so, which is more than enough for most households. If you've already got a budget router running your network and you're ready to upgrade to something more powerful, the Linksys Hydra Pro 6 belongs high on your list. With a dual-band, AX5400 build, full support for Wi-Fi 6, and 160MHz channel support for moving data more efficiently, it was an excellent performer in my speed tests, even managing to outperform flashier picks like the also great Asus RT-AX86U.

For the best performance from your mesh router, you'll want to prioritize getting one with support for Wi-Fi 6, plus a tri-band design that includes three separate bands of traffic: the usual 2.4 and 5GHz bands, plus an additional 5GHz band that the system can use as a dedicated wireless backhaul for transmissions between the router and its satellites. Most mesh routers like that cost at least $300 or even $400, but the TP-Link Deco W7200 gets you there for less than $250.

That's the best deal I've seen for a tri-band mesh router with support for Wi-Fi 6 -- and sure enough, it's an excellent performer, as well. In fact, the only system that managed to outperform it outright in my at-home speed tests is the AX6000 version of Netgear Orbi, which costs more than three times as much (keep reading for more on that one). Gaming routers promise high performance and low latency for die-hard gamers, and it isn't uncommon to find them selling for $300 or even $400. At about $270 or less, the Asus RT-AX86U dual-band router isn't inexpensive either, but it's a strong value relative to routers like those -- and the performance it delivers as a gaming router is flat-out great.

Most noteworthy is the router's latency management. In fact, it leads all of the routers I've ever tested, gaming or otherwise, with the lowest average latency across all of my tests, which online gamers will definitely appreciate. Something else you'll appreciate: An excellent mix of app-based controls and features, including a mobile boost mode, that lets you prioritize gaming traffic to your phone at the touch of a button.

Gaming features aside, the RT-AX86U offers full support for Wi-Fi 6, with strong, stable speeds and good range. If you need additional range, you can add other Asus "AIMesh" devices to your home network to make it the centerpiece of a mesh.
​

Okay, y'all, this is not meant to be an accusation or callout or anything (I seriously love Em and Christine so much), but any time someone claims a tangential relationship to a crime my interest gets piqued and I go into sleuth mode. To be clear, I don't think Em was doing that here, but I think there's a tendency toward it in general and it does a disservice to the people actually connected to and affected by the crime, and I think as hosts of a podcast like this it's important to be careful about how you discuss things.
I'm just... not convinced Janet actually worked at Em's school, at least in the capacity indicated. Em mentioned they were in 2nd grade while they were there, which I estimated to be between 1999-2001 roughly, and I was able to find out that Raven was an assistant soccer coach there for the varsity boys team in 2001, but I also found an announcement from Dec 2001 that he was starting a new job with an IT company after working for HP sales (VA territory) previously. If that's the case, being a soccer coach was a part-time, after-school thing, and Em's comments about him looking for her during lunch breaks don't track. Janet didn't even finish her undergrad degree (in social sciences) until December of 2000, so I also don't think being a Spanish teacher as Em first stated makes sense either. Also to note, by her death in 2005, she was working as a bookkeeper, which is also not necessarily a social science field so education doesn't always mean real work experience! Em backtracked a few times from calling her a teacher to then being a substitute and then to being maybe an after-school aide, and I guess an after-school aide would make the most sense, but I just feel like speculation like that is distracting at best.
I get that it was a long time ago, but it can be very dangerous to pepper in hearsay and anecdotal evidence into cases like this without any concrete info. Em said that her friends would talk about teachers hiding her and finding bruises etc. on her, but I can't find anything anywhere that indicates he was suspected previously of DV or bruising her. Christine never mentioned that in her reporting either. I understand that some details don't get logged, but I would have expected that if coworkers were noticing bruises, her family must have too, and someone would have said something during all this about his abusive history. I'm wondering if there were some mixed stories going on with him working there after school and then maybe some other stuff going on with other people that got lost in the story in the past 20 years. I'm not trying to say her childhood friends and their mom were wrong, but I am just curious about how the timeline and facts make sense with what was stated. I just think we all need to be careful about sharing stories and details about crimes we're vaguely connected to and making sure we speak with precision so as not to spread misinformation. Nothing negative was said about Janet in any capacity, and that isn't the concern, it can just turn into a giant game of telephone which helps no one. I don't really know what point I'm trying to make here (and I could also be TOTALLY wrong - most of the info I found was from nearly 20 years ago), I just want people to be careful about how they spread information and wish Em would have handled it a little differently. If they had just said "I think her husband was a soccer coach at my school and she worked there too in some capacity, but I don't remember any details so why don't you tell the story from the beginning" would have worked a little better. 😅
Feel free to call me out if I'm off base with this! I mean no hate, just a gentle comment and warning about the importance of correctness when it comes to these kinds of stories.

Over the years before I think to put a post out on indeed for hiring, I’ve often found myself resorting back to VA’s that fractionally cost less than stateside hires. Not to mention, their productivity levels seem to be a 2-3x than those stateside. For me I’ve got my project managers, administrative, client support and sales not completely offshored in the Philippines. The sales folks don’t require a commission either which I have found to be so helpful. Has anyone else found that VA’s have been transformative for their businesses?

Any ideas for cars similar to the Honda Civic Hatchback? I'm going for the Sport Touring trim as I want the turbo engine, premium sound system and bigger screen. Any suggestions for another car in the same price range? Good on gas and nice features is what I'm looking for. Automatic for sure.
