2023.03.29 03:32 Affectionate-Ad-6013 Chevron and Gas Prices.

Chevron Corporation, a multinational energy corporation, is one of the leading players in the oil and gas industry. Chevron is engaged in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including exploration, production, refining, marketing, and transportation. As of 2021, Chevron's market capitalization is approximately $200 billion. Chevron is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "CVX."
Chevron's stock has historically been a favorite among investors seeking stable and consistent dividend payments. The company has a long history of paying dividends and has increased its dividend payout for 34 consecutive years. Chevron's dividend yield has typically been higher than the average dividend yield of the S&P 500 index, making it an attractive investment option for income-oriented investors.
The price of Chevron's stock is closely tied to global oil prices. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a drop in global oil demand, which resulted in a decline in oil prices. Chevron's stock price was also affected by the decline in oil prices, dropping to a low of $55 per share in March 2020. However, as oil prices rebounded, so did Chevron's stock price. As of March 2023, Chevron's stock is trading at approximately $120 per share.
Chevron is committed to investing in new technologies and renewable energy sources. The company has set a goal to reduce its carbon emissions by 35% by 2028 and has invested in wind and solar energy projects. While Chevron's core business remains focused on oil and gas, the company's investments in renewable energy demonstrate its commitment to transitioning to a low-carbon economy.
Overall, Chevron's stock is considered a relatively safe investment option for income-oriented investors. However, like any investment, it is important to conduct thorough research and consult with a financial advisor before making any investment decisions. The company's dividend payout history, commitment to innovation, and position as a leader in the oil and gas industry are all factors that should be considered when evaluating Chevron's stock.
The outcome of gas prices going down can have mixed impacts on the stock market.
On the positive side, lower gas prices can benefit industries that rely on transportation, such as airlines, shipping companies, and consumer goods companies. These industries may see a reduction in their costs, which could boost their profitability and stock prices. Additionally, lower gas prices can benefit consumers, who may see an increase in disposable income, which could lead to higher spending and improved performance for consumer-focused stocks.
However, lower gas prices can also have negative consequences for companies in the oil and gas sector. Lower gas prices may lead to reduced revenue and profitability for companies that are involved in exploration, production, and refining of oil and gas. This could result in a decline in their stock prices and a reduction in investment in the sector.
Furthermore, lower gas prices can have an impact on the overall economy, which can in turn affect the stock market. If lower gas prices lead to increased economic growth and consumer spending, this could be positive for the stock market. However, if lower gas prices lead to a slowdown in investment in the energy sector and a decline in economic activity, this could have negative consequences for the stock market.
Overall, the outcome of gas prices going down on the stock market can depend on several factors, including the overall state of the economy, the performance of specific industries, and the impact on consumer behavior. Investors should carefully monitor the effects of gas prices on the stock market and adjust their investment strategies accordingly

2023.03.29 03:08 BrumtownLad 2015 Lexus IS350 F SPORT 3.5L V6 vs 2015 Infiniti Q50 SPORT 3.7L V6

After months of looking at various cars of various makes and models, I've narrowed it down to two. Yes, I know there exists previous posts debating these two cars but I would appreciate fresh opinions based on the current market and between these two specific cars. Let me summarise my thoughts and characteristics for each car:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2015 Lexus IS350 F SPORT AWD 3.5L V6 :
Mileage: 94k KM / 60k miles (approx)
Price: 34k CAD /25k USD (out of the door)
Lexus is much better in terms of reliability
More Sporty exterior
Better interior build quality
Better driving experience (handling, steering, less road noise)
Decently maintained - regular oil and filter changes
Staggered wheel setup. cannot be rotated (uneven tire wear - eats through tires)
Mechanical digital cluster is a plus------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2015 Infiniti Q50 SPORT AWD 3.7L V6:
Mileage: 112k KM/ 70k miles (approx)
Price: 26.5k CAD / 20k USD (out of the door)
Less reliable and more prone to issues (valve body, rear shocks and rear diff bushing are apparently known to break at around this milage, and I've heard the transmission is not great - I might be wrong)
More luxurious exterior
Much better potential infotainment (I plan on installing Aucar mk6 which is like an android based tesla style aftermarket screen that takes up the whole middle of the car and looks amazing)
EXCELLENTLY maintained (I'm talking more frequent than usual oil and filter changes, new brakes, alignments, tire changes etc - too many to list)
The exhaust already sounds pretty good, and sounds better than the lexus
No Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) is a plus
More interior room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can afford both cars. Both are AWD. Both have accidents of similar damage amounts. Both have similar insurance and financing interest rates. Both take premium gas.I'm happy enough with the powespeed of both cars. I will get extended warranty in either case.
I will be using the chosen car as a daily driver on highway roads mostly. I do enjoy accelerating quickly and a bit of speed, but I am not going to race or anything like that (max I've ever gone is 140kmh/87mph - don't plan to exceed that). Will mostly do cosmetic mods, other than muffleresonator delete for sound purposes. If that doesn't sound good enough, then potentially an exhaust system. I realise that I will have more money for mods by going for the q50.
These cars are very similar, but I guess what it comes down to, is whether the extra 8k CAD/5k USD for the is350 is worth it for the reliability but worse (potential) infotainment. I will forego the infotainment aspect if by choosing the lexus I'm saving myself lots of money and time in the shop in the long run.
Pictures of both here -
https://imgur.com/gallery/cfROnww
Apologies for the long post, but I wanted to save y'all the research and just post your opinions. Please let me know if I've missed anything or if I have misjudged anything. I know a lot of it comes down to personal taste and opinion, but I want YOUR opinion. Would really appreciate them. Thanks in advance!
TDLR: is the extra 8k CAD/5K USD worth it for the IS350 over the Q50 for better reliability but worse potential infotainment/tech?

Having hard time establishing a baseline for a "fair" price. Online tools seem to not be designed for California and put out very low numbers. If you recently done a replacement to either gas/electric or full electric system for AC/furnace in the area, can you please ballpark how much you paid?

2023.03.29 02:30 Mission_Star5888 What is going on? What are we going to do?

This whole economy has been going through the floor for the last two years. Even before that when the Coronavirus began. I have been watching the news a lot the last few months, Fox News and ABC news. All the inflation and rise in gas prices got me so concerned about what's going to happen with our economy. I heard on Fox News today that it has been determined we will end up in a recession within the next six months 100%. Biden needs to admit what they are doing is screwing up the economy and fix it or our country will fall. I am concerned that Putin might come after us. Hindsight is 20/20.

2023.03.29 02:26 AndrewLA90028 Let's make Overtime & 2nd Jobs Obsolete

Data Mining is a thing and With record-setting inflation rates and gas prices breaking records, It's time for consumers to demand compensation in exchange for our data consumption. The lust and thirst of large corporations for our data are what created the demand and ecosystem of data consumption. This is fed by meticulously sifting through our intimate data. Everything businesses do regardless of size or segment benefit from the lucrative business of Data Mining. There is no business in existence that does not benefit from our data. It has given rise to "Data Brokerages" Selling our data is a legitimate business and it generates billions for large corporations. This extra income could help us pay off debt, catch up on back taxes, and eliminate the need for overtime at work, or a 2nd job. We could save for retirement or even invest in a new business venture or a house which is often never a reality for most. We could systematically lower the national age of retirement.
As the big data industry continues to generate billions of dollars in revenue, it's important for consumers to recognize the value of their personal and private data**.** In 2020, the Big Data industry generated over $200,000,000,000.00 (Two Hundred billion), and this figure continues to grow. The vast majority of this revenue is generated without any compensation to the individuals (that's you)who provide the data. Data is the oil to this machine. According to Allied Market Research, The global big data and business analytics market size is projected to reach $684.12 billion by 2030
It's time for consumers to demand compensation for their data. Our personal and private data is valuable and should not be given away for free. If we were to receive even a small percentage of the revenue generated by the big data industry, it could have a significant impact on our lives. In 2020, the Big Data industry generated Over $200,000,000,000.00 (Two Hundred billion), and this figure continues to climb. Every Person in the country could benefit from even just a small percentage of this revenue. The benefits far outweigh any objections.
Consider this - the average American spends over 6 hours per day online (your Phones, Tablets, Computers, Cars with any type of wireless capability, Tesla, etc), and much of that time is spent mindlessly sharing personal and private data. By demanding compensation for this data, we could be earning a significant amount of money for something we're already doing. This extra income could help us pay off debt, catch up on back taxes, and eliminate the need for overtime at work, or a 2nd job. We could save for retirement or even invest in a new business venture or a house which is often never a reality for most. We could decrease the age of retirement.
Furthermore, compensating consumers for their data would create a fairer and more equitable system. Currently, big data companies profit from our information without giving anything back to the individuals who provide it. 2023.03.29 01:50 friolator So... cost of an oil change?

I have a 2017 GTI S. For years I've taken my VWs to an independent VW specialist that was walking distance from my office. My company moved to a new town a few months ago, so I took the car to a local garage that looked good. there were a couple 1980s BMWs out front, and they've been there since the 50s. Got a good vibe from the two older guys inside. Foolishly I didn't ask how much it costs, thinking it couldn't be that much more or less than where I've always gone. Dropped the car off this morning, and nearly passed out when I picked it up and got the $150 bill. For an oil change.
The breakdown is:
Labor: $49
6 Qt 5W40 "Euro Syn" oil $72
Oil filter cartridge $18
Washer fluid: $4 (this really annoyed me - I didn't ask for it and I have a gallon in the trunk)
taxes and an EPA fee were about $8

At my old place, the last oil change I did was a grand total of $83 with tax. They charged $7/qt and only $25 labor. Because it's only 15 minutes work. Does this price seem completely insane or was I just lucky before? Also, they said the oil is expensive because the car requires "Euro Synthetic" -- i have never heard of that before, but from a quick google search it's barely more than whatever non-Euro synthetic oil is. Obviously I'm not going back there, but I'm curious what everyone else pays for a basic oil/filter change these days?
This was in Newton, MA (USA) by the way.
Huge props to Mecca Motors in Allston, MA. I miss you guys and I'm sorry I cheated on you. I may have to figure out a way to go back in the future. There's just no straightforward way to get to my new office from there.

Friends!

The seasonal update "Legends" is filled with familiar activities. In this publication, we share what activities you can participate in in the upcoming months, and what rewards you can get for the efforts. Just pick a section you wish to learn more details about.

Battle Pass

https://preview.redd.it/jlnbnj42fkqa1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=02f966c2a9e6448f863cfb0cf159d929d68f0f71
The Battle Pass "Legends" will be active until May 28th 2023. Know your own strength and aim for this date as the season is unlikely to be prolonged.
This season, we've decided to launch a new one with minimal changes. Items in the BP shop and progression rewards have been updated, while the daily mission system and class-specific contracts remained unchanged.

More about the BP BP FAQ

https://preview.redd.it/lnzvhfe6fkqa1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=391af9931c0147ce87b1b31b0b65d569768c38a2
The Battle Pass offers several types of rewards:
  • for the main progression (camos, weapon charms, permanent secondary weapons, achievements, consumables, and currency);
  • for the additional progression (BP coins);
  • for daily and class-specific contracts (a seasonal weapon box for the former, and BP coins and a cool class achievement for the latter);
  • weapons and parts in the seasonal shop line-up.
To get all the seasonal BP shop weapons, you will have to complete 4 class-specific contracts. One contract yields enough BP coins to buy one permanent weapon. There is a restriction: the contracts are only available from the 15th BP level for the owners of premium access of any type.
And if you want to also earn parts, then be active and unlock additional BP levels. The more you unlock, the more rewards you can buy from the seasonal shop. It is also worth mentioning, that if you wish to first buy some parts and then purchase guns, it is also possible.
So, to get the most out of the BP, you need to play actively and regularly, complete daily quests and contracts, but to get the bare minimum it is sufficient to unlock the basic progression levels.

More About the Rewards

Find the "Survivor" and the "Undead" weapon series in this Battle Pass, as well as thematic weapon charms and achievements. Let's take a closer look!

"Survivor" Series

The "Survivor" series includes the AK Alpha, Typhoon F12, Kriss Super V Custom, CDX-MC Kraken, Mateba Autorevolver, and a Cleaver. These guns can also be upgraded through the modification system (except for the Mateba Autorevolver and the Cleaver — they don't have mods).

The series itself is a reference to the legendary "Cyber Horde" special operation. Its fans would surely appreciate it!

New Charms and Achievements

Progression levels remained unchanged. The basic progression chain consists of 25 levels, the additional one consists of 175 (200 levels in total).
As for progression rewards, the system remains familiar: for the main levels, you'll receive achievements, charms, skins and two additional weapons (a cleaver and a pistol), for additional levels - coins for purchases in the Battle Pass store.

Battle Pass Coins

This is the main currency of the Battle Pass that you can spend in the seasonal shop. There are two ways of earning the BP coins:
  • by completing daily and class-specific contracts;
  • by unlocking the additional progression levels.
As we've mentioned before, one fully completed contract yields enough coins to buy some parts or one permanent weapon from the seasonal shop. If you complete all contracts and unlock every additional level you can buy out the entire shop line-up. Remember: the BP coins expire by the end of the season and will not be transferred to the next.
https://preview.redd.it/qgmqhgqpfkqa1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=c047addc68ab82c7b349648df2ef53f3a0f4af10
This season's shop line-up offers two types of rewards: parts that you can get of up to 10,000 pcs., and powerful guns with mod slots from the "Undesad" series. The series includes the SA Hellion assault rifle, the Benelli M2 SP rifle, the Vigilance Rifles A-M20 machine gun, and the Barrett M82A1 sniper rifle.
https://preview.redd.it/xnnc98srfkqa1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc0db9f069b02acb804f412a95e4f6225b9071e3

Both temporary and permanent weapon versions can be obtained with coins in the shop. Parts are sold in batches. All unspent BP coins will expire by the end of the season and will not be transferred to the next. Keep that in mind and try to use them all up!
To get permanent weapons, you would need to consequently purchase the preceding temporary versions: the ones for 3, 5, 7, and 9 days (costing 25/50/75/125 BP coins accordingly), the permanent version costs 175 coins, making the overall price for the permanent gun 450 BP coins.

Prestige

https://preview.redd.it/k04oq50xfkqa1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=50b2aef7ef297de367d4e559cd25a75b58a55b5e
The "Legends" prestige season will be active until June 14th 2023.
Prestige levels are additional levels (from the 101st to the 1000th) in the progression system that you can unlock as long as the seasonal activity is on. Progressing through the prestige levels is the same as with the regular levels: you play and gain XP for every battle. The only difference is that prestige levels require more XP and are reset each season.
Changes that took place this seasson:
  • the overall amount of XP to open all the prestige levels has been decreased (from 10 662 000 to 10 117 300);
  • the list of level rewards has been updated: it now features golden weapons.

The "Legends" Ranked Matches season will be active until June 14th 2023.
Changes that took place this season:
  • Added a leaderboard. Now you can easily track your achievements in the RM: your current amount of points and your place in the global rating. The leaderboard is updated every few days.
  • Added the "Gas Station" map to the "Plant the bomb" mode.
  • Priority stack matchmaking. Since the launch of RM РМ 3.0, we've received a lot of suggestions on how to improve them. Among the most popular ones were: better team balance for the players playing in a stack. Now the matchmaking in RM will look like this: the system will try to fill the room with groups of the same size. For example, if five players in a clan decide to play ranked, they will face off against groups of five.
  • Rewards for league advancement. After the calibration stage, you will get a unique weapon charm that will change depending on the highest league you've managed to reach in the current season.
  • New items in the seasonal shop.
We've covered the changes to the RM in this article.
If you need a refresher about the details of the ranked PvP, you can look through this article. We also remind you that the ranked currency for the seasonal shop does not expire and will be transferred to the next season.

Planting Trees for a Sustainable Future: How a $1 Investment on KyotoSwap.io Could Make a Big Impact on Climate Change

Imagine a scenario in which all DeFi users decide to buy $1 worth of KyotoSwap tokens (KSWAP) and spend on KyotoSwap.io’s Impact feature to plant trees. Taking the recent price of KSWAP at $2 per token, you would receive 0.5 KSWAP per $1 and be able to plant 1.25 trees.
KyotoSwap.io is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that allows anyone with internet connectivity to help passively fight climate change while creating economic opportunity via tokenizing ownership of the dex with the KyotoSwap token.
Over 20,000 trees have been planted by KyotoSwap.io’s permissionless platform since its launch earlier this year. Anyone can plant trees at the cost of 0.80c per tree, a lower cost than what is typically available on the market. This means that the impact of each user’s investment is even greater, as they can plant more trees for their money than they would be able to elsewhere. Planting a single tree on KyotoSwap.io is so affordable that for the same cost as the average gas fee transaction on the Ethereum network, you can make a verifiable impact against climate change. You can also track our tree-planting efforts through Veritree, our official planting and tracking partner.
The impact of this investment goes far beyond just planting a few trees. What impact could be made if all DeFi users participated in our scenario? According to research, a single tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, meaning that 1.25 trees would absorb up to 60 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. Over five years, 300 pounds of carbon dioxide would be absorbed by the trees planted with each user’s $1 investment.
Assuming that 1 million DeFi users decide to invest $1 in KyotoSwap.io to plant trees, the total amount invested would be $1 million or 500,000 KSWAP tokens at the $2 scenario price. Assuming each KSWAP token can plant 2.5 trees at the cost of 0.80c per tree means that the $1 million investment would result in the planting of 1.25 million trees.
This would result in the absorption of 600 million pounds of carbon dioxide, significantly contributing to the fight against climate change. Not so bad for a 1$ investment when we approach it as a collective.
For context, the average American’s carbon footprint is 16 tons a year (35274 pounds).
In conclusion, a small investment of just $1 by each DeFi user on KyotoSwap.io to plant trees can significantly positively impact our planet. Not only would it result in the planting of millions of trees, but it would also help absorb hundreds of millions of pounds of carbon dioxide, contributing to a healthier planet for future generations.

2023.03.29 01:09 MrMacaroni98 24 [M4F] Florida - Birthday in 3 days!!! Celebrate with me?

Hey! Thanks for clicking :) I'm a 24 year old guy from Florida just lookin' for friends, love, or whatever comes of this really. I've tried this subreddit, dating apps, other subreddits and have met some pretty cool people but none seem to stick around too long, unfortunately. So I figured may as well try again...
A little about me: I'm 24, 6'0, caucasian, with dark brown hair and eyes and a short beard. I've been told I'm handsome, attractive, cute, etc. but that's subjective, I'm definitely down to trade pics as physical attraction is somewhat important too (even though we all say it's not). But this is my post so you go first! I will say that I do have a preference for shorter hispanic girls, however this isn't important and I'm down to talk to anyone!
Some things I'm into: Gaming (PC mostly, recently been addicted to Elden Ring, but I play a large variety), music (lot of rap, but I listen to almost anything but country. Just depends on the mood), sports (almost exclusively baseball, huge rays fan!), rollercoasters, traveling, stonks, Game of Thrones & House of the Dragon, memes (my phone is like full of them, I will share my collection) and probably way more that I'm not thinking of right now.
Some of the things I really dislike are tomatos, mushrooms, gas prices, slow drivers, and mostly people who ghost. If you think things are not going to work out and do not want to talk anymore please let me know! It's okay, literally everyone prefers that over being ghosted.
Anyways, gonna leave it there. The only hard requirements I ask of you are that you are an afab woman from the United States or surrounding area. Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to talking to you!!
